Has a tendency to go quiet when he's focused on the game, so that's when he thought it'd be a good idea to have you narrate for him

Sometimes Zhongli or Ganyu brings in some cut fruit for you two

Funnily enough, neither of you would remember to eat the fruit on your own, but somehow manage to remember to feed the other bites of fruit to make sure they're hydrated

Xiao honestly highkey gives off gamer boyfriend energy, and people probably would've assumed you were already dating when you started streaming together

Family friendly? Nahhhh, he said he'd try at first but the moment he teams up with Rosaria, the innuendos and swearing never end, as much as you try to censor it

Nowhere nearly as shameless either, but viewers still somehow notice his hand creeping across the desk to hold yours

Has the not so subtle "please date me" eyes when he looks at you and it's now a meme

His snide comments about enemy mobs or rival players are always hilarious, and he has the best insults

Surprisingly doesn't swear as much as you'd expect him to when trash talking

Does, however, swear extremely frequently on a regular basis

Until they notice how his insults towards you aren't exactly mean

Also he tends to cuss in his insults only when he's not serious so "You're so fucking stupid" roughly translates to "You're my favourite idiot"

Anon who just woke up when they got the news and wrote a long goddamn essay, back with another one! Prepare to read!!!

Ive been doing better now. I confided about what happened to my parents who were both, surprisingly, supportive and understanding about what happened which definitely helped me a lot.

I then checked in on friends who I knew also liked Techno to make sure they were okay

After, I started scrolling through the technoblade tag, seeing all the art, everyones thoughts, his friends comments about him on twitter also helped me as I didn't feel alone in what I was going through

I still feel weird now though. Like I said in my og essay, Techno helped dragged me back into the Minecraft fandom, as I took a break when it was becoming less popular. He truly was a comfort cc of mine and to know hes gone is upsetting. I was and still am a major SBI fan. I enjoyed the family dynamic the four of them created so much. I used to joke with my close friends, who I regard as siblings now, that we three we specific members of SBI. I was Will, my sister was Tommy and my sibling was Techno (The Phil role was whoever had the braincell at the time (WHICH IS MOSTLY ME- /lh)). Hell, the whole reason I started referring those two close friends of mine as my siblings is because techno and the rest of SBI helped me truly understand the idea that family is more than just blood. Funny how the blood god taught me that

I will miss shouting 4/4 SBI whenever the four of them just so happened to even be in the same twitch chat. I'll miss being excited to see any of the duos be together. I'll miss Technos witty jokes and dry sense of humor that I feel in love with. I'll miss Techno, Alex, Dave, whatever you want to call him.

I want to keep his legacy on though. I actually wanted to try and get good at pvp recently and Im not giving up on that. I was one of the many voices in his head and its my job to keep his blood god legacy going, even if Im bad at it

To anyone who made it this far in my second essay of this topic, congrats, remember to drink plenty of water, eat and rest well, and I'm giving you all a big virtual hug.

And a big thank you to you, 420Technoblazeit, the dsmpblr community and any techno fans within/outside it. You all gave me a place to feel accepted when twitter was hell and now you've given me a place to be able to peacefully mourn a beloved man

two vocaloid recs for you! you've probably heard of yunosuke, but it's only in the past year or so that their music seems to have gotten popular? one of my favorite songs is ziqqurat, but i honestly can't think of a single song that i dislike. (flash warning for ziqqurat's video, probably?)

and then my other rec is a producer who is considerably more obscure (and older/not super active these days), kiichi/nantoka-p! here's one of his more well-known songs, love love nightmare! i have enjoyed his stuff for uhhh. at least a decade now. oh god. 😭

i have definitely heard of yunosuke! i'm a huge fan of their kafu songs (unsurprising) but their other music is good too. i think my first exposure to yunosuke was actually PaⅢ.INCEPTION all the way back in 2017 but i didn't start listening to them consistently until kafu became a thing HSDFJSD ziqqurat is very good though! also yeah the mv is flashy but it's fun :)

AND YEAH I KNOW LOVE LOVE NIGHTMARE!! i remember listening to it a lot in my last couple years of high school when i was feeling Stressed as an outlet i guess LMAO it would funnel my feelings elsewhere. i still mostly listen to it for the "i'm going nuts" vibes. that being said i haven't actually listened to most of their other work, i found this song back when i was younger and back then i didn't care about producers (rip i was like in middle school give me some slack /lh) and i would rarely dig through a producer's work, i just consumed whatever was fed to me by ye olde youtube recommendations and my friends. and i guess it just has not occurred to me to check out their other music. might do that later when i'm in the mood for those vibes

Hi! I’m Florence, maggot or whatever you know me as. I am a aromantic transman who uses he/him and it/it’s pronouns. “No worries, Miss. Please hand me all the letters you’ve received.”

A rising actress, just having debuted not even a month ago, is already dealing with obsessive fans. Ven despised such people. Was it really so hard to be normal, sane members of society? To give people such traumatizing experiences?

“Of course. I’m sorry, I’ve just been thinking about the most recent letter.”

“What was inside?”

She gulped. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, please just look for yourself. I can’t bare to look at it again.”

Ven takes the stack of letters scattered over the dining table. Some of the contents had more words than others, with the shorter ones being written more hurriedly and in an odd brown color. They could easily tell it was blood. Who’s, they still had no idea.

After sorting them out, the dates the culprit had written made it easier to tell when each letter was sent. The most recent one, sent two days ago, wasn’t written with blood.

Hello, my dear Songbird!

I heard from another sweet bird that you plan on asking for help. Don’t bother. Nothing, absolutely nothing can stop me now. You made one foolish mistake, dear, and you shall pay the price. You should move quickly, your dear father is hanging by the thread. Literally! If you even think about asking for help just know that I have his life in my hands.

-Your dear Mockingbird.

“Miss, do you have any other items sent in with these?”

The actress had moved from sitting at the dining table to her couch. She laid down in a fetal position, her head on a couch cushion.

“Miss?”

“Yes, sorry, just give me a moment, please.”

Ven reads over a couple older letters as the actress lethargically trudged to her bedroom. They ranged from the stalker detailing his day to mocking and angrily berating the young actress for doing a lot of nothing. He would get riled up about her most recent performance to infantilizing her actions. Ven remembered the actress being 23. She could deal with her own life problems without the help of a raving lunatic.

“Here you are. This should be everything.”

“Thank you.”

Ven wished they could offer a couple more words of encouragement, but it was hard to when the poor lady looked like her life was about to end in front of them.

“Would you like me to call the Maison Gardiennage? Or some tea?”

Ven regrets mentioning any sort of law enforcement. The poor lady looks ready to collapse onto the floor, and they have half a mind to try and help her stand.

“It’s… Please don’t. Not for now. I’m terrified of who could be behind this.”

After that the conversation is cut short. With the remaining letters with Ven they leave the poor lady in her apartment alone.

It feels too much like a trap, though. Leaving her all alone. Without anyone watching her, too?

They decide that it’s best not to think too hard about it for now. For now, they take the letters and pieces of evidence and head towards the Fortress of Meropide.

Nights in Fontaine were bright.

The first time Ven had stayed in Fontaine, they were surprised to see how many people were still walking about at 11 pm. They were used to the serenity of the Sumeru moon protecting the people in a cool light. It seemed in this new, foreign place, the lights were always on no matter what time it was.

It definitely helped them find the man sneaking just outside their own hotel room.

“Can I ask who you are?”

Ven waits for a moment for the man to answer, but he replies with silence.

“Very well. Could I ask you to move so I can get into my hotel room? I’m very tired and would like to retire for the night.”

Nothing.

“Ah, I see who you are. You saw me with her, didn’t you?”

That seemed to do it.

The hooded figure shifts, tensing under the thick layer of cloth. Ven steps closer to try and talk to him.

“I know who you are. Don’t do anything rash, I- “

Clang!

Ven tried to block the knife with their polearm, but it wasn’t fast enough to block it completely. The knife bounces off the staff of their weapon before lodging itself into their shoulder.

“Ugh-!”

Before their assailant can take it out, Ven uses the short moment where they try and move the knife out to push the man backwards. He flies onto his back grunting in pain.

Before the man could get up and do more harm, Ven flings their weapon down onto his head. He flops down, unconscious and unmoving. Finally, Ven leans their non-injured shoulder onto the wall of the hotel.

They better take the knife out and bandage up the bound, else people start noticing the lack of blood inside their body.

They tie the man up with a spare coat, unable to find any rope. They bring the man inside their hotel room and leave him on the floor to call room service.

“Hello? I have something to report.

“Ven! Are you okay?”

Paimon rushes into the back of Ven’s head, inspecting them from head to toe. Her tiny hands and fingers comb over their face.

“I’m fine, Paimon. No nerves or muscles, remember?”

“B-But still! We heard you got stabbed!”

“You worry for nothing. I assure you, everything is fine.”

Before either Aether or Paimon could respond, another young voice rang out.

“Oh no! My Leige, you’re hurt!”

The actress nearly trips, trembling and holding their shoulder gently. There was really no need for her to do so, but her touch was feather light.

“Miss, are you okay? He didn’t hurt you, did her?”

“Wha- I should be asking you that!”

She stared at their shoulder in shock, as if trying to make sure the wound was real and that they really were fine.

“I think you are both not fine, emotionally and mentally. Dealing with a stalker like this is always troublesome for everyone.” They take her hands and gently hold them. “Please rest assured that the Maison Gardiennage will keep this criminal inside the Fortress of Meropide for good. I will make sure of it myself.”

Her tearful expression is well hidden. An actress such as herself is worthy of such a title as one of the best even if she had only debuted so recently.

“You’re sure you’re okay?”

Aether pats Ven’s shoulder, still worried despite knowing the constitution of their body.

They lay their hand on Aether’s. “You worry for nothing. I’m telling you, everything is fine.”

For some reason he doesn’t look convinced. Ah, Ven remembers. This is one aspect of humans they still don’t quite understand. No matter how many times, how sincerely, they will always insist on taking care of someone who is perfectly fine. Ven, in this case, is more than okay. The actress that had a stalker is still clearly suffering, but because they sustained physical injuries do other people disregard her.

“For the last time, I’m fine. I would much rather you check up on that poor girl who had a stalker for the last month, though. The police have finished questioning, so I’m going to go back to my hotel room in peace and go to bed. Goodnight, you two.”

The warmth of Aether’s hand disappears as Ven starts walking away. Their feet take them to the elevator, through the hallway, to the door of their hotel room where they had been attacked not even two hours ago.

Ah. They really don’t understand.

…I can’t believe twilight managed to have just of a creative solution as the Kane chronicles did for solving their love triangle (Twilight with Renesme, the Kane chronicles with having one of the guys host the other guy (who’s a god) in his body and them both dating the girl).

So, about imprinting on your mate. What would happen if the imprint died? Would the werewolf go insane?

Also, what do the other characters thinks both Renesme? Does Bella’s dad know about her being a vampire now? (Isn’t Charlie a cop or something?$

I am so lost as to who everyone is besides like the ones you explained and I am so confused that I can’t even begin to have questions. Thanks for giving me more knowledge about twilight then I ever thought I would have /lh /hj

Smeyer sure did do something, that's for sure! Something definitely happened! Also I don't remember much about the Kane chronicles (it's been a few years), but I remember glossing over that when it happened. But now looking back WOW that was wild. two love interests? combine them into one (1) person

As for what happens in the imprintee dies, it would be extremely emotionally distressing and painful--as is any death. But there's nothing specific that would happen to the werewolf different from any other loss. They'd be miserable and grieving, and probably would never be the same. The one difference is that wolf packs have telepathic connections, and they aren't in control of them. It's a constant, complete sharing of thoughts with everyone in your pack when you're in wolf form--no privacy. So not only would the affected wolf be suffering, but so would everyone else because they'd be exposed to that mentally. Also, since killing the imprintee of another wolf is against their most sacred law, the two wolves would fight to the death should the law be broken (the one who killed/helped kill them and the one whose imprintee was killed).

And all the other characters love Renesmee! She's adored by the Cullen family and Charlie (I can't remember if Renee knows about Renesmee atm, but she'd also love her), and practically everyone who meets her falls in love with her and adores her. In book 4 they collect a couple dozen other vampires to witness Renesmee aging and serve as witness against the Volturi (vampire royalty who enforce the laws, eg those about immortal vampires and were coming to punish the Cullens), and like all of them just think she's the sweetest thing. The only people who aren't sold are the other wolves. Jacob's unique because he's imprinted on her, and Seth (one of Jacob's pack, he's the fandom's cinnamon roll) has no problem with her or vampires. But Leah (the other person in Jacob's pack, Seth's sister, the only female werewolf currently) is not happy about it, but respects Jacob just enough as her alpha to not fight it. But the other pack, Sam's (Jacob's former pack before he and the others broke off), doesn't really like it at all. They just can't do anything about it without breaking their sacred law, and Sam (the other pack's alpha) has less authority than Jacob, because Jacob's genetically more alpha than him.

As for Charlie (who is the Chief of Police in Forks), he doesn't know the specifics, he just knows that something's up. He saw Bella post transformation, and went "hey how about you don't tell me what's going on" and so they didn't. He's content to know she's safe and happy after confirming she knew everything she was getting herself into from the beginning, and would rather not deal with all the supernatural and just turn a blind eye to that. He's just glad he still has Bella in his life (they were planning to leave forever to protect him), even if he's not the biggest fan of her choice of partner. He also knows there's something up with Jacob (he got naked and shifted in front of him), but has also requested to Not Know Any More About That Thanks.

I think it's funny that you say you know have more twilight knowledge than you ever though you'd have, but there's so so much I'm omitting and not even getting into rn. I am having fun with your lack of knowledge!! I love reciting the story to people :)

💚reasons not to date:

his tsundere behavior. yes, tsundere characters can be cute in anime, games, etc, but when you actually meet someone like that.. sure, they can be cute, but you also go "CHILL WHY ARE YOU SO MEAN TO ME". this guy is so proud of those nicknames he came up with 😭😭 so yeah, if you don't want a boyfriend who will insult you and be rude to you at first, avery is not the best choice.

he doesn't know how to express his feelings. this is also a part of his tsundere behavior: avery really doesn't know how to express his emotions properly, so even if he's happy, he will say something like "ugh, whatever, i don't really care anyway". it's hard to understand what he's trying to say, if you're not a "tsundere expert" and if you and avery are not that close. avery really wants to say more and be more honest, but he's just so afraid of being judged..

💖 reasons to date:

very romantic. avery is a huge fan of romance novels, so he can be very affectionate and he has a lot of ideas for your dates, his gifts to you, etc. he's definitely the type to send you love letters (and they will smell like flowers), he always remembers what you like so that he can get it for you later and he really wants to slow dance with you (even if he's not that good at dancing)! he's also already imagining what your wedding will be like.

his shoujo manga love interest appeal. i know i said it a million times back when we came up with euvery, but avery really is your perfect "mysterious bad boy with a secret cute side"! if you want someone who will kabedon you when asking you something, say things like "you don't want to know more about me. leave me alone", but also give you flowers and make sweets for you, then you and avery are a perfect match!

his kindness. even if he's rude to most people, if avery cares about someone, he's okay with doing anything for them. if you need someone's shoulder to cry on, he will be here. he's not sure he can give a good advice, but at least he can listen to you. he also will try to make you feel better, maybe watching a romance movie together will help? or you two can take a walk in the garden.. really, you can tell him anything. he won't judge, he's not like those people who bullied him.

so, overtime, he gets used to the fact that most of the museum visitors are really just here to admire him, rather than the ancient relics he collected.

worst thing is that whenever eclair tries to explain a thing or two about this very interesting artifact, those people will just

stare at him. in a very lovey-dovey, and quite creepy way.

problem is, those cookies become so much more frequent, that he can't even properly run the museum, as they always chase him and stick to him—

and then he sees you.

your eyes shine bright with interest, as you read the cartel right next to an antique painting.

you don't necessarily look prettier than the average cookie— and yet, you still are captivating.

whenever you're not here, he'll either spend his time cleaning the museum or think about you while standing awkwardly in front of the painting where you two first met.

and it's kinda weird because imagine just visiting the museum and then you see the dude that's in charge of the place, just. standing.

and he'd do that for three hours each day.

but thinking isn't enough. thoughts are ephemeral, and even though he's smart, eclair, like any other cookie, forgets them by the end of the day.

so he starts to write them down as they come, in a notebook he hides somewhere inside his office.

eclair certainly wouldn't want you to learn about him writing pages and pages about his kind of obsessive thoughts about you, y'see

poor man doesn't realize it, but he's sinking into the abyss of obsession faster than the titanic 🗿

after roughly four notebooks filled to the brim with lovesick and obsessive notes about you only, eclair finally realizes that he may or may not be doing okay rn

naturally, he comes to the conclusion that he should seek help and find a healthy way to cope with his obsessive and intrusive thoughts

when he's not being creepy with simple words, he'll ask you very strange questions.

note that if you actually answer with someone else on the last one, hum. bad things may happen to said someone.

eclair wants to know everything about you, just like he wants to know everything about each relic he has in his museum.

you're like a relic. precious, rare, and god, he wants to observe you and keep you forever and ever.

so hum, remember when i said that you'll have to say yes to his confession, whether you like him or not?

this. this right here has consequences. such as you wanting to break up with him after like two weeks or even less.

also the fact he barely trusts you with other cookies. eclair can't stand seeing you chat with someone that isn't him and will interrupt your convo asap.

anyways. you want to break up with him? oki doki.

you'll just possibly get kidnapped and trapped into his office. and no one is allowed in there, apart from him.

might or might not trap you into a glass box like the other relics so he can look at you without you running away.

the reason why eclair advises the visitors not to come at night is because during that time, your screams are the loudest— and it might raise suspicions. that or rumors about the museum being haunted might pop up. and that last one isn't stonks.

if you're not breaking up with him at some point, you certainly aren't safe from kidnapping.

if eclair notices that you're being a bit too distant for his liking, you're getting kidnapped.

The two main incidents of this season were Silverstone and Monza, but seeing someone argue that Max’s comments were the worst of the two has made me look back at both the radio messages along with the after comments because the comments made by Lewis no matter how much the lh stans try to say were so much worse than Max’s at Monza.

So as most lh fans cry still over Christians comments at Silverstone where Chrsitian said and I quote “I hope Lewis is very happy with himself.” “Lewis has more than enough experience to know that is unacceptable. I’m very disappointed that a driver of his caliber should make such a move. It’s dangerous” “For me it’s a hollow victory.” “That was an amateur’s mistake and a desperate mistake” “Putting a fellow driver in the hospital, writing off a car, receiving a menial penalty and still winning the grand prix doesn’t feel like much of a penalty.” This was straight after Max was taken to the hospital, after a 51g shunt and he was right. It was a bad move from Lewis and what did anyone fucking expect Red Bulls reaction to be, especially Christian’s.

And then in Monza we had the incident and both the British press along with Toto made remarks about Max causing the crash on purpose for example, “But I would say it’s…in football, you’d call it a tactical foul. He probably knew that if Lewis stays ahead, that is the race [win] for him possibly.” While Lewis also said and I quote “He just didn't want to give way today, and he knew when he was going into (Turn) 2 what was going to happen. He knew he was going over the kerb, but he still did it”. Max abused after Silverstone for calling out Lewis but Lewis gets praised??

There is also the issues with the comments, Max said ‘this is what you get when you don’t leave the space” and I am after hearing this in arguments so many times while in Silverstone Lewis said and I quote ‘he just turned in on me” “I was ahead going in their man” “that’s my line” “he turned in on me man” (this was after hearing the red flag was put out) and only after he was almost in the pit lane he asked how Max was. This radio went on for 2 minutes and 11 seconds and most of it he was whining about Max or about the damage he has to the car. Charles, Pierre, Seb, Checo were straight away on the radio after hearing it was a red flag asking if Max was okay. Max in Monza didn’t have to ask because Lewis decided to try and fucking reverse (not knowing if Max was out of the car), Max looked at him and saw he was moving, why should he stop and check on Lewis when he is still trying to move the fucking car. Also the comments stated afterwards by Lewis were much worse than what Max said. Lewis keeping referring to Max as ‘aggressive’ and just made unnecessary comments post race when Max was not there to defend himself. Making comments such as “But when someone’s just too aggressive these things are bound to happen” and “I just don’t feel like he needs to be as aggressive as he is,”. Once again trying to turn the media and the blame onto Max.

Lets just also remember how Lewis celebrated which was what really really fucking upset Red Bull and Max and his fans because it was so so unsportsmanlike, driving around with the flag and making comments on the radio were just plain wrong. When looking back at the season the have been other drivers who said worse than Max…George Russell accused Bottas of trying to ‘kill them’ after the Imola crash yet nothing about that was really said but when Max makes ONE comment everyone blows up?? Nobody brought up George slapping Bottas’s helmet or the comments he made afterwards which were wrong, but Max says “that’s what you get when you don’t leave the space” and people wanna say that was the worse said…nope

...you have opened my eyes to a vast universe of VintageBeef lore that I was unaware of. I knew about the New Hermit Order, of course, and the UHC invention, and I've watched a few of his CTM things but -- I will take all the info and lore you feel like giving out because Beef is amazing and my knowledge is so small.

Vintagebeef my beloved <3

So the thing is, right, until about 2016 I only watched two (2) youtubers- Vintagebeef for Minecraft and aDrive for Pokemon (and funnily enough both of them are named Dan irl). So I've watched most of Beef's videos over the years and have a general knowledge of most of his stuff, except because it's been like a decade I don't remember where most of the lore comes from XD

The thing with him is that he doesn't do Lore tm the way other mcyters often do lore- he doesn't have an extensive RP series to draw from like Grian, doesn't have a solo world with steadily increasing amounts of lore like Etho or Zisteau, and while he's played on SMPs and been involved in storylines before it's not really the focus of his episodes unlike with Evo or Legacy or Empires

So where does that leave us?

IRL, Beef always has multiple series running at the same time. Often he's playing on an smp while doing a singleplayer, often modded, series as well as a CTM or modpack with a group of friends. For example, right now he's playing on Hermitcraft, doing weekly Pixelmon and Building a Zoo episodes, and a CTM map with Slip. And to me, this translates to one thing: Beef is an adventurer. He travels frequently- he explores a world and when he decides he's done, he leaves for the next one. That's the basis of my personal interpretation of his series and his character for my writing.

Ok so reading this back, this got extremely long and didn't explain much in the way of lore, somehow? If anyone has any additions to add please do so, I am very definitely leaving out a lot and would love to see what other lore people remember and are using for Beef! I didn’t include the Hermitcraft stuff since my memory of season 4 is blurry (his base was themed after the Martian, that much I know, and he and Iskall were buddies :D) and most of the s5 NHO lore is best watched from Bdub’s perspective from what I remember, and the only s6 stuff is a single line in Hermitgang and then the Area 77 arc with its possibility of an NHO reunion which we did not get rip. And s7 of course had the cloning machine and also the Podzol Party as the main lore. So all the original rambling is still below the cut though it is very long, and I'm gonna bullet point the main stuff here instead:

Actual canonical things:

Invented UHC and was the only survivor of the first ever uhc (Mindcrack UHC s1)

Married to an ender dragon (one of the UHCs I think), later father to a different dragon (Mindcrack season 3? I think?)

Might not have legs if you choose to take that joke as canon (Mindcrack s2)

Was a wizard (RAD)

is a zookeeper (Building a Zoo)

Had a wife and kids (Sims in Minecraft)

Part of the Trial of the B Team court case (Mindcrack)

NHO founder, founder of the Podzol Party (Hermitcraft)

Created a cloning machine that sort of works (Hermitcraft)

Played the Forest which is I believe the first time he and Keralis played together (look up the trigger warnings for this one, it's a horror game)

Was the creator/owner of Sourceblock SMP (featuring some familiar faces if you know Legacy, Empires, or MCC) and there is literal magic from a mysterious sourceblock of water that teleports people and summons mobs and probably more stuff that I haven't seen yet since I'm still watching it myself

Things you can infer:

Good with animals (Life in the Woods, Pixelmon, Ark)

Is a car nerd (irl and all of the car games he's played)

Is a highly experienced adventurer who has traveled through dozens of worlds both vanilla and modded, across multiple dimensions (Twilight Forest, the Aether, the Betweenlands, Limbo), completed dozens of monuments, fought in blood sports, survived apocalypse after apocalypse, tamed dinosaurs, and played a lot of prop hunt and golf with your friends

If you're looking for what to watch for lore purposes, I'd say the Mindcrack UHCs and Team Canada's RAD series are pretty good, definitely Sourceblock and HC s5, plus the Diversity CTM maps and Ruins of the Mindcrackers maybe? And Mindcrack Prank Wars for the chaos and the origin of Team Canada. And if you can handle horror than the Forest is fun and if you don't do horror you can watch the Pojkband play golf or prop hunt they're hilarious I love them sm I want a Pojkband reunion So Bad

Beef's first series was a singleplayer series in beta 1.4_01 though he had played the game extensively before that, and was a big fan of Guude, having watched his own Minecraft videos. The series was functionally a hardcore one where if he died Beef would delete the world and start again! I haven't actually Watched this series so idk if he died or how often lmao. When Guude made Mindcrack, which was btw one of the very first Minecraft SMPs, he also hosted a competition for people to join, and Beef submitted a video (which is still viewable on his channel I believe!) and won, and was added to Mindcrack in season 2 :D (fun fact, Guude said that even if Beef hadn’t won he would have added him anyway)

Two running jokes emerged from Mindcrack- pulling a Vintagebeef and Beef doesn't have legs. The first is a reference to Beef dying of fall damage (I believe the exact instance was him trying to jump into his swimming pool and failing spectacularly) and after the incident, every time someone died of fall damage they were pulling a Vintagebeef. The second joke comes from Guude, who joked that the reason Beef wasn't going to a convention was because he didn't have legs, and then he pranked Beef's base by building a giant pair of legs at the entrance to his castle so you had to walk between them to get into the base. This joke has long since died and both Beef and Guude feel pretty bad about it iirc because there were people who genuinely thought Beef was disabled and were emailing him supportive messages and stuff oops. So if you go looking on the Salad or find old Mindcrack fics, you might see references to Beef having prosthetic legs!

Mindcrack also brought about the creation of several Player groups- Team Nancy Drew, Team Canada, and GOB to name a few relevant to Beef. Team Nancy Drew consists of Beef, Pauseunpause, Guude, and Baj, who formed to investigate a prank on one of the members but I forget who. They're named Nancy Drew after the detective! Team Canada also formed in retaliation to pranks, with it consisting of Beef, Etho, and Pause, the three Canadian members on the server (not including Adlington who moved to Canada but never joined the group). There was also a Team America who pranked them with American flags everywhere. GOB is Guude, OMGChad, and Beef, who played stuff like the Ragecraft, Pantheon, and Monstrosity ctms together but that's way down the line lol

Team Nancy Drew is also notable for inventing UHC. It was Beef's brainchild but it was the four of them who first played it! The first UHC had the four of them working to kill the dragon with no natural regen, with everyone dying but Beef, who "won" the UHC. The second uhc was still dragon focused and iirc is where Beef married the dragon? Memories are hazy but they do kill the dragon in this one I think. UHC was then revamped as a pvp event and became a regular Mindcrack game every few months, featuring most of the Mindcrackers and several special guests, including Dinnerbone, who as we know Thanos-snapped Doc's arm out of existence as a result of Doc killing him in one of them

In one of the seasons of Mindcrack, Beef invited swedish Mindcracker and good friend Anderzel to go caving with him and invented ABBA Rules caving, where the winner takes it all. ABBA Rules is a game where each ore (and also dungeon loot like nametags) is assigned a point value and the person with the most points at the end wins and gets to keep all the stuff collected from the game.

In Mindcrack season 3?, Beef punched the ender dragon in an... awkward area, so when the dragon died and left the egg behind, Guude said Beef was the father of the egg XD I don't remember if I watched s3 so I have no idea if anything Happened with this concept but *history of the world voice* you could make lore out of this!

So Team Canada has played a Lot of CTM maps (which fun fact were pretty much invented by another Mindcrack member, Vechs, with his Super Hostile series! Super Hostile has a bunch of things called "Zistonian", which are references to another Mindcrack member Zisteau, who has a very wild singleplayer series with even wilder lore but I digress). In Ruins of the Mindcrackers, they had a running joke that Beef was Etho and Pause's mom, which is a joke we can leave in the past actually /lh. They also played all the Diversity maps, Sky Factory, Terra Restore, Uncharted Territory uhhh and a couple more ctms and adventure maps! Each map kinda has its own story so in Diversity 3 for example they were trapped in a simulation? I think? Team Canada also recently played the Roguelike Adventures and Dungeons modpack, aka RAD, in which Beef was a wizard with a magic staff that could do anything from summon lightning to control hostile mobs.

Sourceblock SMP is a vanilla survival 1.14 series that ran for one season and the series starts with each of the Players being drawn to a strange sparkling water source that, once they touch it, brings them to the Sourceblock world. It also summons a giant zombie at one point. There's probably more lore for this series but like I said I haven't watched it all the way through yet

He has a Patreon server called VintageCraft and has done a series or two on there as well, and played a few UHCs with them, so lore that how you will!

Beef also played a few popular mods, notably Pixelmon, Life in the Woods, and Feed the Beast, with LitW being singleplayer and the other multiplayer. He's also recently played the Zoo and Wild Animals mod a lot. He did a short series with the Minecraft Comes Alive mod where he married one of the villagers and had two children, so that's canon now :D he’s played a Lot of Pixelmon starting when the mod first came out iirc (he chose Turtwig in his first series and built a Grass gym, then made a Normal gym in another series in uhh 2016) and he still plays to this day. Quite a few Hermits played on his Pixelmon servers with him, like Wels, Etho, Iskall, Stress, Slip, Zueljin, and also Guude and Phedran (a Mindcrack adjacent player and creator of the LitW modpack) and a few Mindcrackers on the older servers

Mindcrack and friends played a lot of other games too- 7 Days to Die, Ark Survival Evolved, Unturned, to name a few, so you can pull a lot of lore out of these as well. Speaking of friends and non-Minecraft games, Beef teamed up with Pause, Keralis, and Slip (a former Hermit) to play the horror game the Forest, which saw them stuck on an island trying to survive against terrifying mutated human... things. They played it a few times as the game updated but as afaik it's the first time Beef played with Keralis and possibly Slip and since the game starts with the Player's airplane crashing, that could totally be how Beef first met them in-universe

I... think? that’s everything I mentioned in the tags? There is probably way more stuff I’ve forgotten that stems from inside jokes and things that happen within each series, but I hope that was a) helpful and b) at least somewhat comprehensible lmao

the cat was called pussboy by tommy, but dream only called it "the cat" and then said that "it was hope", which is why it sort of became a symbol (his hope is dead, basically) - that's why i kind of made its name capitalized, because it was more of a metaphor than anything.

most c!dream fans call the cat hope because it's just really nice and really symbolic, and also really sad when you think about it. that's why the name was used in the essay, just to clear up the confusion!

i don't really think so? mooshroom henry was entertainment more than anything, and even if it was bad, when watching the stream i don't remember seeing him mourn that much - on the other hand, dream was very quickly and very obviously attached to the cat, with it being his only companion in months of isolation, along with the hope that even when tommy left it would keep him company.

keep in mind c!dream has been deprived of stimuli and human contact for so long it's officially classified as psychological torture at that point.

i don't mean to compare trauma or even compare deaths - because honestly, what c!dream and c!tommy have gone through individually is incomparable and i think neither should be diminished in favor of the other since they're both terrible situations.

that's why i disagree that it "was nothing compared to" - it had an obvious effect on c!dream, and was still c!tommy killing an animal specifically to hurt him, no matter what reasons he had.

when i'm talking about effects people's actions have had on c!dream, i'm not talking about those people. i'm talking about him. :) /lh

as for the trauma, a lot of people agree that a lot of the things he says or does are trauma responses, and hence it's very possible that he's had trauma before he went into prison!

this includes being repeatedly called a tyrant via propaganda by about half of your friends who decided to betray you, trying to keep peace and being pushed deeper into villainy instead, repeatedly being put in between a rock and a hard place in order to make sure the people you care about don't start killing each other, then being betrayed by your closest friends after merely trying to keep peace (sapnap & george) and just in general having no control over your life or image and grasping at straws to gain it back.

i know a lot of people with trauma who heavily relate to certain trauma responses, which aren't always just shaky breaths and flashbacks, but trauma often also manifests itself in extremely ugly and destructive ways, both inwardly and outwardly.

trying to control the people around you is also very often a response to going through trauma, as well as emotional repression which is... rather evident on c!dream during season two. it only seems to get worse with repeated abandonment.

in the end, during the vault scene, the way he acts really just isn't at all the way a healthy person would act, and a lot of his really bad mindsets come from the way he was taught by the world around him.

the character is very reserved however, and since we don't have his pov we can't really say for certain - a lot of people claim it in good faith because they have a lot of evidence for it, and i think they're certainly valid in that.

that is just before the prison, however. from what happened during the prison arc? there is no denying he's traumatized at this point.

he's been emotionally and physically abused by c!sam since the very beginning of being imprisoned, and being in solitary confinement for over two weeks is generally considered psychological (and maybe also physical?) torture. that alone shows up in a lot of symptoms of his mental deterioration while in pandora's during people's visits, and quackity's "sessions" just absolutely drove the point home.

what he's gone through during this arc is absolutely incomparable to anything others charactes have faced before, and it's just plain suffering being endured by someone who is, despite everything, still a human being.

as for the wilbur manipulation thing!! it's talking about the whole vassal scene (though even beforehand a lot of their interactions are pretty iffy), and here's a post about that :]

I also have a small question about the analysis u last reblogged cus it says "why dream needed lmanburg gone rightfully" and like. The house analogy is poor because for one cus the land is infinite. And 2 cus punz's yard was literally larger then lmanburg. And also stuff about dream being a mediator? Can u provide examples?

i wouldn't say it was poor. dream's said a lot of times that he didn't care in the slightest about the land - a lot of his problems with l'manberg arose with the fact that wilbur basically built it on lies and tried to disallow half of the server to come there. c!dream was mad about the division and the fact that wilbur wanted "freedom" to have authority in his lands - over others, as can be seen in this post also.

the table analogy was fitting not because dream was some overlord, but because these were literally friends he invited to hang out and live in a place he wanted to call home. claiming a part of it for yourself and saying people of a certain nationality can't come in is directly opposing those goals.

in the early days of the smp, dream's always been a mediator between his friends - sapnap and george, who would often get into fights and go around killing each other! he would always do his best to stop the conflict, which continued after tommy joined when he took him to court and then later tried to mediate conflicts he was a part of, which resulted in tommy killing him unprovoked, stealing his gear, and starting the disc wars when dream was trying to get his stuff back. later, during pogtopia, he is also most concerned with peace over everything, and this seems to continue indefinitely after.

Today i was thinking about how messed up the final control room was. Like. Dream arranged the betrayal and punz and sapnap killed tommy and tubbo who like. Were literal children and their pals (because the author, wilbur soot, is dead/j but srsly if u take the streamers words tommy said he was 9 during the revolution sooo)

Sorry im gonna ramble about how dumb canon ages are for a second cus like. Streamers can say the characters are one way or another (wilbur saying he is mentally 30-something, etc.) But in the end the characters act like they(or at least their streaming personas) do.

i... honestly don't find it that bad? they were in a war, and the final control room was basically just supposed to end it quicker. the l'manbergians made it clear they were going to fight to the death, so they really left c!dream no other choice. and it's not like he didn't give them chances to give up.

also yeah the 9 year old thing was retconned, because in that case c!dream would've been 14 and i don't think that's true.

c!tommy and c!dream were both young and once again, in a war. the final control room was an attempt to assure victory, which both sides would've taken if possible, but only c!dream saw he had the option.

i do agree the whole child soldier thing was bad but... complain about that to c!wilbur, methinks. he talked naive kids into fighting for his personal power. however, the age argument isn't really valid either way. they had enough agency to sign up for it, and whether or not c!wilbur pushing the intense nationalism onto them had something to do with that is another debate entirely.

Bacl to final control room cus like??? Also fun fact punz took 2 of wilbur's canon lives. And like that probably is what started wilbur's paranoia which later lead to his spiral and i. Many thoughts full of lmanburg today.

i'm pretty sure cc!wilbur said what lead to c!wilbur's spiral was a "dark, twister view of possessions" and "disregard for his fellow citizen whom he claimed to love so much", but i really wouldn't say it was the control room; if anything the sudden loss of power after the elections seems to me like the trigger for his spiral.

I watched the exile arc live and. I feel dirty almost for feeling little to no sympathy for c!dream (srry ive been forgetting to add that aa) because of his actions toward c!tommy and like. The whole probation was so humiliating and unfair and c!dream was planning to frame him for the crimes he and puffy did under the the guise of "pranks" and c!quackity was planning to seize the vice president role.

i mean... to be fair, if you didn't watch the prison arc much yet or only watch tommy's perspective i understand not feeling that sympathetic - however, i encourage you to maybe watch a few prison visits, since they could help you see the whole picture better!

i also watched it live, and i also thought it was terrible, but i share very much the same sentiment for the prison arc because. absolutely no one should have to go through either of those things, you know?

i don't think probation was that humiliating? he was just. being asked to not start conflict with the other factions for two weeks. of course, what happened as a result is in no way justified, but i don't think probation itself would've been bad at all. either way yeah the framing and c!quackity's behaviour was. very yikes, i agree.

Also c!tommy antis are dumb because they say "he deserved exile angry emoji" i dont see u saying that about ranboo. Just say you hate cc!tommy and go. Also people say c!tommy was just as toxic to c!dream and i??? No. One is the victim and one is the abuser and like. :/// man. This part is rambly srry

i wouldn't say they hate cc!tommy? cc!tommy has a persona who people think is annoying at first ( but then they subscribe because he is super entertaining big man! ) but a lot of c!tommy's actions are straight up toxic to certain characters, such as c!funndy and c!jack. he has a very dismissive attitude towards others and their trauma and it does affect the people around them very negatively.

examples; his repeated bullying and behavior towards fundy:

Tommy: “Fundy, I’m just here to kinda let you know that I – if you weren’t Wilbur’s son, you would be out of L’manburg, alright? Just remember – you need to keep that relationship with your father. I saw how asshole-y and bratty you were acting in the courtroom the other night. You need to pull your shit together young man.”

......

Fundy: “I’m wearing glasses…are you making fun of my eyesight?!”

Tommy: “Yes.”

Sapnap: “Your father would be very disappointed.”

Fundy: “Wh – disappointed for wearing glasses?!”

Tommy: “You got glasses, like what are you wearing…”

Fundy: “What do you mean?”

Tommy: “Sapnap, Sapnap, over here. Fundy, Fundy, Fundy, I’m really sorry to say this – I’m just here to publicly denounce you.”

Fundy: “…What?”

he's also responsible for a big chunk of c!jack's trauma, both with actions and words, and that's why i think certain people might dislike the character, and i don't think that's wrong of them. anyone can dislike any character they want if they don't attack people for liking them, in my opinion.

also c!tommy was most definitely toxic against c!dream in the cell. it's of course understandable but that doesn't change the fact he was constantly hitting and insulting him (without dream doing anything back for a long while until he snapped) which is toxic behaviour.

i wouldn't say he was "just as" though, so i agree with you on that. they're different and they behave differently.
