Ever since you became friends with Katsuki you called him by his given name instead of his surname. You didn’t care if it was disrespectful, you liked how it pissed him off.

Eventually, he got used to it. He convinced himself he was still annoyed by it. Still scowling at you whenever you overused his name.

You guys started dating about 4 months after meeting each other.

It wasn’t until you two became strangers did he realize how much he loved the way his name rolled off your tongue.

“Its to the left, Katsuki.”

“Put me down Katsuki!”

“What do you want for your birthday Katsuki?”

It was like his name was made for you to say it. Like his mom knew one day you would claim his name and make it your own.

But now, instead of Katsuki, its Bakugou.

“Oh… hey Bakugou.”

“Bakugou?”

“How have you been doing, Bakugou?”

Saying his surname is even worse to him then when you just flat out avoid saying his name.

But what hurts the most? When you begin to say Katsuki and stop.

My condolences to Adam's friends, family, and teammates. This is such a terrifying thing to have happen, and I can't imagine the shock and disbelief everyone is going through. Incidents like this seem like such an outlandish idea until they happen, until they become way too real. After Teddy passed away last year, you would think that greater precautions would've been taken on all players. I hope leagues around the world look at these incidents, these innocent lives cut short, and work toward better player safety from things like this.
