These anonymous submissions come from a survey I published several weeks ago where I asked for fans in the Marauders fandom to share their experiences with me. I was overwhelmed with the results, and this is, in their own words, some of the submissions I was sent.

I was around before Rosekiller and Jegulus were popular and I loved them and got death threats for liking them?!?! I also got death threats for not reading Zars writing and I've been told countless times my writing should be deleted bc it's not like his :)

I was sent death threats for shipping rosekiller. This is mainly an issue i’ve seen on marauders twitter though, where fans can essentially try ‘cancel’ you for different opinions you have. I feel a lot more comfortable and safer on tumblr.

I had someone sending me extremely hurtful messages in private saying a couldn’t Kin Regulus black because I’m trans and that I’ll never be a real boy so I should stop trying

is shifting real?

no idea. but id like to know.

in 2019-2020 harry potter made its comeback (somehow) and draco tok became a thing (lord help tom felton find a new personality trait its been three years). amino and reddit users took this advantage to share what they know as shifting and it spread like wildfire. harry potter fans took this shifting shit and RANNNN with it. if you had any type of presence on tiktok when this was going on you saw at least one post about shifting. it couldve been about the mcu, shameless, harry potter, an anime or whatever. but shifting became a HUGE thing.

because of this, people became skeptical of the things people were reporting from their dr (desired reality) after returning from shifting. on one end you had a 14-year-old girl telling you she had sex with draco and snape was twerking on the table, and on the opposite end you have 24-year-olds telling you they had an emotional attachment to where they came from, bawling their eyes on tiktok. honestly its hard to take either one of them seriously. but regardless of the insane stories, it begs the question.. is it real?

or is it just some sort of mass delusion based on desperation. the search for shifting spiked around the time covid was declared an international hazard, and i believe it caused so much stress for many people, they just wanted to escape what they were after. under the kind of stress covid caused, it can cause extreme desperation and mental illness. now im not claiming everyone who claims they've shifted is mentally ill, but it is a theory people have.

im quite impartial to wether or not shifting is real. admittedly, i was apart of the shifting community in early 2020. so ive tried it, many time but to no avail. this is when i began to question wether or not the evidence i was fed through tiktok was factual. which it most likely wasnt, because it was TIKTOK. but ever since then ive been trying to research what led people to believe in this. its been quite difficult since there has never been anything to prove nor falsify the existence of alternate realities, and probably never will be. because how could we ever be able to experience and research what is unknown to a degree of nonexistence.

i created this blog to share my findings and some personal opinions, to help you decide your own. if you're invested in this just as much as i am, stay tuned :)

man. rhys darby’s cameos are 800 fucking dollars. in australia anyway. not even a video from sean astin costs that much. i’m pretty sure last time i saw a cameo cost that much it was tom felton in 2020. i did not purchase one i just somehow ended up clicking on his face because i thought i recognised him from somewhere and if anything sticks in my memory it’s numbers for some reason despite the fact im bad at maths.

Okay, it’s time to tell you my big secret, guys. I’m a Potterhead 😃 I read the books and watched the movies (in both English and my mother tongue) countless times. I have a Hufflepuff and a Slytherin scarfs, a cauldron cup and a snitch (I honestly tried to buy Draco’s wand last September but they ran out of them at the shop 🥲). I attended Tom Felton’s meet and greet when he visited my city. And finally, I’ve been writing HP fan-fiction since my teenage years. I’ve never published any of my “pieces of art” anywhere, so the things that I’ve finally decided to share with you here are hell of exclusive 😎

The “Hold on” is particularly dear to me not only because it’s one of the few things that I’ve actually finished, but also because the 2009-2012 version of it shows an enormous progress of my writing skill. It started as a never-ending dialogue, and it developed into a story with a study of characters’ depth and an attempt to reflect on the magic world of Harry Potter beyond the borders of the books and the movies. 

The 2020 pandemic year gave me a lot of time and chances to reflect on the past, present and future, on life and death, on love, friendship, devotion, freedom, peace. That scary year of unprecedented uncertainty surprisingly helped me to get back to many things that I haven’t been doing for quite a while before covid, including writing. I tried to go on with a couple of my originals but my soul was constantly demanding something magic. And that’s where I decided that the time for reviewing the “Hold on” story has finally come. 

The English adaptation that I’m still working on differs from the original in Russian. It certainly has many twists that I invented back in 2010s. However, it goes deeper in exploring the characters, it broadens the Malfoy-side story from the original J.K. Rowling books and it contains a large part on the Irish magic society that plays a very important role in the development of the general storyline of the “Hold on”. 

I’m not sure that my Tumblr/Simblr blog is a proper place for sharing an over-300 pages draft (roughly 1/3 of the planned size). However, if some of you would like to read it I will consider making a Wattpad/Fanfiction.net page or whatever to publish it for you 😇

Today I wanna show you the Sim versions of some of the main characters of the “Hold on”. Hopefully, they will win over your hearts as they did over mine 😍 Please, welcome, the Lynches. 

Jason Lynch, the headmaster of Limerick, the Irish School of Magic. His wife Brie (or Brianne), Potions teacher at Limerick. And their daughter Demi (Demetria), a talented potion maker and a big lover of muggle rock.

The Lynch Manor (under cut) is an ancient Irish country home outside Dublin that Jason inherited from his parents. 

The sims and the manor are made by me, and I’m hell of proud of myself 😂😃

Actually, I got sucked into shifttok just because of Draco Malfoy and I wonder what it would be like if Tom Felton also got into it like Alec

lmfao same—kinda; my friend (who had been on dracotok) was the one who introduced me to reality shifting. we've drifted apart a bit, now with differing interests and schools, and our relationship dropped somewhat when she revealed that she believed shifting to be psychosis of a sort. which. just—fffff.

but enough about me lmao. a part of me whispers that tom felton likely already knows that shiftok exists, and all because of dracotok. going through the old tags makes me both cry in nostalgia and cringe in embarrassment—especially when i see the older tiktoks resurface. I've got nothing against those creators, but it makes me remember the amount of crackfics and random bandwagon videos on shiftok. oof. go 2020.

i honestly can't tell if he finds it weird or amusing sometimes. either way, there's a chance he already knows. there's no way that that big boom of hogwarts shifters in late 2020 didn't attract any attention, especially when he has a tiktok account of his own and reacted to videos in the past (even if it was only dracotok).

it would be cool if tom felton did get into shifting, but it would also be troublesome if he actively posted about it. think of the situation—most of the dracotok videos were catered to the younger generation, but it brought old fans back as well. introducing shifting into the mix would attract all kinds of attention, and you know it would be messy. on an objective level, shifting doesn't have the best reputation.

it really would be nice if he's into it—good for him if he succeeds, too—but I'm of the opinion that for the sake of the shifting community, it's better if he keeps something like that private. additionally, he's a celebrity; think of his reputation and his followers. it'd have a far-reaching and (quite) a long-lasting effect.

lmfao i hope i wasn't too assertive in that answer! i was just trying to look into it from an outside perspective. but this was actually a very interesting message! I'd really like if this discussion was continued lmao. like, think of the possibilities that could arise.

pretty weird thinking that there's a reality out there that he'd be fully into it, and a larger population of harry potter/fantastic beasts fans are accepting of the concept of shifting.

complicated grief

complicated grief is really difficult to experience. in my own life, it started with dumbledore tbh. i grew up looking at the lens of the first 6 books/movies where dumbledore is great and then on the 7th one, it was revealed that dumbledore is a mix bag of good and bad. i only realized this in my early 20s. harry even said that he chose to believe the man he knew.

and then my grandmother died a year and a half ago. she was the one who raised me and she, in my own view, was someone who experienced a tragic death. the aftermath of her death made me think about my complex relationship with her. i had and maybe still have some resentment towards her, along with compassion and love that i still feel for her.

this then leads me to robbie coltrane’s death which i just learned this morning. i am emotional about this cos i’m a harry potter stan and hagrid is a beacon of light for me. and then i discovered that he apparently supported jkr in 2020. i do not support jkr’s views and i consider myself as an ally to the trans community. i did not know that robbie coltrane supported her, or maybe i forgot. i just get my jkr news from tumblr whenever she does something evil. but i’m not always on tumblr, i log out from time to time so i’m not on the loop always. his death is added to the list of my complicated grief for people who you thought were good, decent people, but then later on after their death, you discover that they have done some shady things. i need to research about complicated grief since i am unable to access therapy. 

and then there’s this discourse as to how is it that it’s easier to hate a female transphobe like jkr but somehow, there are people in the fandom who are apologetic and forgiving to male transphobes such as robbie coltrane and maybe tom felton? i am confused about tom’s stand. i remember he liked a tweet of jkr but he said that he did it accidentally and he didn’t mean it? idk it’s murky. he could have made a mistake of automatically liking tweets without reading or maybe he is also a secret transphobe who’s doing damage control, idk. 

so yeah, i am just confused right now with all my feelings and thoughts. i am an advocate for human rights and equality and it’s also true that i am heart and mind broken in learning that the things that brought me joy and possibly saved my life so many times are not in equilibrium with each other. i guess, people are nuanced; they have good and bad qualities but don’t we need to measure the effects of what they do? and when we discover that they did more harm than good, why is it still hard to shake them off from my psyche? i guess it’s cos of trauma and i need therapy so that i can choose healthy personal relationships and healthy parasocial relationships too. since therapy is expensive, i have been doing my diy therapy since i was a teenager through self-help books and audiobooks, and free online resources. the bottomline is, i have a mix bag of emotions and thoughts right now. i need to take a break.

  We had a strong lineup of First Growth Bordeaux in this auction and quite few big lots with 12-bottle lot of 2003 Chateau Rothschild selling for $14100, followed by 12-bottle lot of 1995 Chateau Mouton Rothschild at $9165. 2008 Chateau Mouton Rothschild reached $963.5, while 2005 Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion sold for $893, both 1994 Chateau Latour and 2005 Chateau Angelus sold for $846. 2003 Chateau Pavie scored $564, 2005 Chateau L’Evangile reached $470 while 2009 Chateau Pontet-Canet sold for $423; 2009 Chateau Lynch Bages sold for $305.5, from the same vintage, 2009 Chateau Haut-Bailly closely followed at $293.75.

Few other highlights of Bordeaux blends from home, 2013 Destiny Bay Magna Praemia scored $376 while its vintage 2010 Mystae sold for $258.5; both 1986 The Antipodean magnum and 2013 Church Road Tom sold for $235, while 2009 Church Road Tom sold for $188. 2010 Stonyridge Vineyard Larose sold for $211.5, and 2010 Puriri Hills Pope followed at $176.25.

Italy’s been showing the fastest growth among Country of Origins in past three years, making it one of the best regions to buy in for better return on investment. 2005 Masseto Tenuta dell’Ornellaia took the highest hammer win in this region at $1175, 2008 Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia sold for $481.75 while 2006 Marchesi Antinori Tignanello sold for$293.75.

Some other highlights worth mentioning are, 1989 Chateau d’Yquem sold for $893; 1995 Dom Perignon Vintage Brut sold for $481.75 while 1983 Bollinger La Grande Annee Vintage Brut scored $376; 2021 Egon Muller ScharzhofbergerRiesling Spatlese sold for $411.25, and 2017 Felton Road Block 6 Chardonnay scored $152.75.
