One hut is soo-'kah סוכה.

More than one is soo-'kot סוכות (as well as the name of this holiday).

Stanley Tucci used to be one of them, before he graduated into being the internet's favourite DILF. Stephen Root is. Alison Janney is assuredly among their number. Even with the Oscar wins, JK Simmons and Melissa Leo probably are, too. Scenery-chewer extraordinaire, Peter Stormare definitely is. Amy Ryan. Margo Martindale. Walton Goggins. You all have a favourite.

Ray Stevenson was one of mine.

As Titus Pullo in Rome - the terrible, duty-shirking, maybe Caesarion-fathering offset to Kevin McKidd's straight-laced, honourable Vorenus. Or in Outpost - a Nazi zombie counterpart to McKidd's werewolf genre movie, Dog Soldiers. The small roles in the Thor movies and the fantastic turn as Blackbeard in the perpetually underrated Black Sails.

He's a guy whose work I will miss.

Can someone petition Grian to please postpone the next Life series for at LEAST 3 months??? For the love of god, if it comes out anytime before November, the MCNN Recap Team might actually die. It was eight weeks of continuous work when Limited Life rolled around, and it was HELLA FUN, but I cannot handle that again anytime soon, please.

(Also I will be basically unavailable until after the start of November for multiple reasons, and my workload doesn’t even begin to mellow out until we hit late fall/early winter so. Grian. Grian please. Spare us from the pain I beg of you.)

31 Mermaids, 2- Ghost

Ghost mermaids have been puzzling scientist and occult scholars; not really for what they could teach about death, but for what they seem to imply about the history of life.

To date, interviewed mermaids have never recognized a known ghost as a specific formerly individual. However, besides them only appearing at night and being mostly incorporeal, one ghostmaid has allegedly been tracked to her "manifestation site", which revealed a gigantic skeleton, or possibly several.

No proper exploration has been carried out yet, but what perplexes researchers is how the bones seem to be fossilized, embedded in layers of rock that have been dated to many different periods, invariably earlier than the K-Pg extinction boundary.

Ghostmaids sing like merfolk, but their vocal range extends far into the infrasound. This is theorized to be at least partially due to their size.

Neither land humans nor merfolk have been able to recognize a language or to ascertain whether words are present at all in the songs.

To date, one attempt is alleged to have been made at verbal communication by an independent researcher using advanced recording equipment and underwater microphone.

No information exists on the results, or the researcher's whereabouts.
