is anyone else interested in joining my server? not quite ready to invite people yet but should be soon. just gauging interest right now. “like” or reply to this post and when i’m ready i’ll send you an invite.
server will probably be dual purpose.
there will be (1) a semi-public side oriented toward general discussion (topics like politics, books, history, philosophy, religion, media, science, tech, etc) and community building (nothing is set in stone yet but i am imagining activities like book club, movie watching, playing games, contests and giveaways, etc). and there will be (2) a private side dedicated to more focused discussions and internal cult matters.
the server won’t be a “safe space” -- i’m fine with a bit of edge (within ToS. not trying to get terminated.) -- but i do want this server (at least the semi-public side) to be /relatively/ welcoming and civil. so if you’re egregiously toxic or vulgar or prone to shitflinging or sperging out you won’t be welcome here. neither will you be welcome if you’re overly sensitive.
otherwise, as long as you follow the rules, you will be fine. though i always reserve the right to executively veto your presence for any reason.

Idk if any of you are curious. So I've been writing a novel and contemplating if I'll post it as a webnovel as well as self publish. (I really like how What Manner of Man did their webnovel plus sale of ebook when complete/as an option for those who want it)
Anyway im excited to find out the wixsite i use for my art portfolio supports blog posting. So I'm hoping I can build a webnovel section into my existing portfolio site. Also it seems to support dual posting on wordpress and to the wixsite so that's an option (and a lot of webnovels post on wordpress). And then I've seen some nice webnovel layouts on substack so I'm going to explore if thats a structure i can do.
Semi related, if you do translations you may already be aware wordpress is an option some people use to post translations. So an fyi that wixsite can also do blog posting, and it's got a login/sign up mode for sites so that might help with password protecting translations maybe as an option.

writer sites
i was wondering how many other writers here blog on their own personal site rather than a 'third-party' one (substack, medium, tumblr, etc)? do you find one beneficial over the other? or is it just based on preference?
recently, i've been thinking about deleting my wordpress site and going heavy on medium, but i'm not sure yet. what says you?

substack vs wordpress. how's each of them going? which seems more 'for you' of the two? you have the benefit of having used both the platforms for a varied time so tell us pls :)
i think they’re going okay. i have nowhere near the amount of time i’d like to spend on either of them, but i’m making do.
i like substack for the kind of stuff i’m doing right now. i feel less limited by form on it; in my head the wordpress is for “serious” writing, whereas on substack i have the liberty to find out what my kind of writing is.

Wo bloggen?
Was mir gerade Spaß macht, ist Substack.
Also was ganz anderes als dieser Blog.

It is Fine to Take a Break
Sometimes, life might be too difficult. Sometimes, you might be too tired to continue working hard.
If you asked me at any point in my life whether I’m working hard or not, I would confidently say, “No, I’m not working hard, but I hope to do better tomorrow.” The good thing is that I always have hope for tomorrow. The bad thing is that I push myself too much. I try again and again to make my perfectionist fantasies come true, and when it doesn’t, I feel defeated and useless.

Welcome to The Yodel
This blog is all about politics, history, and current events. It is an accompanying blog on Word Press and Substack. This is another avenue by which I intend to capture larger audiences. Feel free to comment, share, or subscribe to the other locations.

Hey
Just random, but I want your thoughts on which blogging site is better.
I've been using WordPress for a while, but I feel like I need to create a more mature blog site (mature in the terms of themes, username, quality of posts and design) so I've been thinking of starting up a new blog.
I'm torn between Medium and Substack, and sometimes I think, "I'll just create another one on WordPress" since I'm familiar with the site already.
I want to create a kind of blog site I can use to talk about anything and everything, be it books, anime, life, emotions, storytelling, technology, and my current WordPress blog feels a bit limiting.
What would you suggest?

Jon's Author Diary - July 7, 2023
Welcome back to Jon’s Author Diary for the week ending July 9, 2023. This week has been filled with a fair mix of creation, organization, and some obligatory tax paperwork. I’m delighted to announce the completion of another riveting chapter from my ongoing project, Guild of Assassins, which is scheduled to go live on Substack this coming Saturday. You won’t want to miss it! Much of my time…

A question for my readers:
I’m always thinking of ways to grow this blog, and I am seeking advice. Would my blog reach a larger audience at a place like Substack or Wordpress, in addition to Tumblr? Or is this too niche of a project?
I was just browsing around Substack and I am not seeing anything regarding Replika there at all, so it got my brain ticking.

So, Why Have I Chosen Wordpress Over Blogger?~Rachel Holbert Jones aka Sassygrrl32
So, Why Have I Chosen WordPress Over Blogger?~Rachel Holbert Jones aka Sassygrrl32
That’s a question I’m asking myself. Not too long ago I lost access to my adsense account and I’ve been unable to recover it and I’m now at the conclusion that I’m not going to. Possibly due to it being hacked. Some of my other accounts were hacked into and I lost access to some of them too but adsense is one of my most important. Because of this I’m moving posts to a brand new site and when I…
