#if the rumors are true about hs4 #which im still just. vibing about i dont have an opinion here or there #BUT if they are #i really do hope he delves more into the rock scene #imo hs1 is his best record when it comes to seeing his long-term potential #and fine line features elements of rock that was prevalent in hs1 #i just think harry's stage persona and interests work so well under the rock umbrella #his voice and writing style would perform so well in the genre after having three other albums under his belt #like hes won the grammys hes won the brits #hes done residencies #hes done practically everything he can in the pop sphere #lets see him return to his roots since he has nothing to 'prove' anymore as a solo artist #he can just experiment and howl and write freaky lil lyrics and have killer guitar solos #give me all the glamrock elements #please

fire and the thud came on my spotify shuffle while me and my sister were listening to music this afternoon, and at the end of it she turns to me and goes “who was that? the lyrics sound like the kind of thing you’d write” and honestly i think it’s one of my favourite unintentional compliments i’ve ever received

#the fact that she’s been reading my writing since we were both kids and knows that side of me better than anyone too #idk it just made it really hit with that bit more weight #also something about it was weirdly validating #because like that whole album has such a special place in my heart #i have never heard anything that connects me so fundamentally with my creativity in the way humbug does #and so to have someone who knows nothing about am go ‘hey these lyrics remind me of the way your mind works’#when hearing those songs for the first time sometimes felt like someone had reached into my brain #was just #yeah #i don't even know actually #i'm not trying to claim i can write like alex btw #i'm not delusional lol #but i do hear echoes of myself and the way i connect with creativity so often in his writing #which is i think why i connect with it so much #even if i express that creativity differently #(and with less skill)#sorry i'm just rambling at this point #i feel like i'm not explaining this well at all but my brain is so foggy rn #so i'm going to shut up now and go back to my book #thanks/apologies to anyone who's read their way though this whole ramble #humbug #lulu posts

I say that you don’t need to know the Taylor lore to appreciate her music and I MEAN it and yet I’m not sure Taylor saying “now I’m down bad crying at the gym” hits quite as hard if you didn’t spend all of 2014 watching her coming out of gyms in NYC wearing her perfect little model ‘fits with her short 1989 bob perfectly coiffed only to learn later all the heartbreak happening behind the scenes then TOO.

I get that we’re not really talking about it now. but Ashton’s upcoming album is going to be so personal and vulnerable and hit so hard I just know it from the snippets we’ve seen

#like guys. he’s working with john feldmann. who’s like an emo father figure to these guys #especially ash I would say #like picture it. on the scale of wfttwtaf. with the foundation of superbloom AND sgfg #and with Ashton’s spin on it; being The Guy Who Looks After Everyone Else First Then Himself #but who’s also constantly trying to figure out how to interact with the world for himself #like he’s got so much love to give. there’s gonna be so much love in it. he’s slowly circulating that love back to himself #and I have this hunch that this album documents the process of him doing it in anthems and indie tracks #just the way you could imagine ashton doing!! like if the original idea for skh and invisible had 10yrs to mature #when I say I know it is going to be so good. and I know luke stuff destroys us. but I have a feeling about ashtons album as well #ashton irwin #5sos #5 seconds of summer #ai2
