No but I just have to say this, I've been thinking about it for a long time and it literally makes no sense. Like if byler isn't endgame and midleven is, what is the point of the duffers even making Will like Mike if literally nothing would happen with it? Like just for him to get rejected? What's the point of putting it in the show in the first place? Fr

i've seen some people complaining about olivia's response to whether she has beef with anybody (specifically taylor, they're just trying to be subtle lmao), saying how she's generalising her answer but the thing is NO MATTER HER RESPONSE, direct or not, people will still find something wrong with it. she says no - people will accuse her of LYING. she says yes (which is def not true but just hypothetically speaking) people will come down her throat and harass her even harder. what do you want from her, seriously?

someone probably said this already but in spiderverse i think it's interesting how when pavitr was first introduced everyone thought something bad was gonna happen to him bc of how confident and optimistic he was. and then in the actual movie we see that something bad was supposed to happen to him (police chief dying!) but it doesn't! miles stops it! and miguel berates miles for this, says it's going to cause the universe to collapse or whatever.
there's this idea that tragedy is inherent to spidermans growth, and while it's true that some spiderpeople learn important lessons through loss, no one stops to ask, is it really necessary? yeah, maybe the chief was supposed to die. but why does spiderman have to be formed through tragedy? why do we (as heroes) have to let people die? pavitr didn't lose anyone, and he's still a good spiderman! maybe, if he doesn't suffer, he'll end up better off for it!
so while miguel is arguing for all this big picture stuff about saving the multiverse he's lost sight of what it really means to be a spiderman, he's not looking out for the real individual people. yeah it's just one person who would die, but that one person means something to someone. shrugging and saying "stuff just sucks sometimes, we can't do anything about it" is the opposite of what superheroes do. pretty obviously, miles arc is also a reflection of the struggles people face in real life, working within unequal systems, where it's easy to shrug and say "that's just the way it is" and not ask "but why does it need be this way? can't we do something about it?"
miguel is arguing that you can't have your cake and eat it too. presumably, miles and co. are going to find a way to get around that and change things for the better (and maybe that's why miles has that line about two cakes in the advisors office!)

saw this tiktok of a girl frustrated about people having self-centered conversations, i.e. someone not responding to anything you say about yourself, only expecting you to show interest in what they say, and speaking as if you're not there. well you can actually beat this one folks! there was a guy I talked to for a while who had the most self-centered conversations with me ever, but so did I with him. so we went back and forth talking to ourselves until one day he gets bored and asks me a question about...things I shared?! and now he converses 'normally' for the most part. because I didn't give him the satisfaction he wanted so he straight up gave up. now I no longer speak to him in a self-centered in response as I feel like i'm no longer the only person expected to try.
ultimately if you match someone's self-centeredness they will be forced to change their behavior in order to engage with you. or get bored and leave you, of course, but it's not a huge loss if the relationship isn't enjoyable.
i'm sure everyone has had a conversation like this before. it's pretty common due to the simple fact that everyone likes to feel acknowledged by the person they're talking to. it will only become a problem if you have zero response to what the other person is saying. at that point it's barely a conversation between two people.

re: zionists being the terfs of judaism
y'know how terfs have such a narrow idea of what a woman is? the same goes for the zionist idea of what a jew is. to them, a diaspora jew isn't a real jew. an anti-zionist jew isn't a real jew. a person who converted to judaism isn't a real jew. someone in an interfaith marriage, or the child of an interfaith couple, isn't a real jew. any nonwhite jew isn't a real jew to them.
also their entire identity is based off oppression. like for all their talk "jewish joy", they never shut up about how everyone hates them and how oppressed they are (even though they have insane amounts of power that they regularly wield over minorities). and that's literally exactly what terfs do dsgslkgsdf
and there's a lot of them who talk about how "actually zionism/radical feminism is super progressive! it's just like communism!" and they completely ignore the fact that most of the people supporting them are insanely right-wing.
also they both claim to be my allies (zionists claim to have my best interests in mind just because i'm jewish. terfs claim to have my best interests in mind just because i have a vagina.) and it sucks so bad. they are NOT my friends and i wish they'd stop pretending to be!
anyways that's the end of my rant. tell ariha i said hello.
this is very insightful for me, thank you. i was wondering what you meant by "terfs of judaism" and this explains a lot. i totally understand how zionists seem to pretend as though they have jews' best interests in mind but in practice they are extremely harmful to those that don't agree with them. thank you for this, it helps me learn a lot. plus "zionists are the terfs of judaism" is a banger sentence, so thank you 🙏🙏 and ariha says hi back!!
