Am I broken? You just might be. You've shattered, Like pieces of broken china, Sharp and ridged. You try to cut my flesh, Maim me, So we could live as mirror images.
My flesh spills ribbons, Satin and fragile, Pieces of my lost soul, That once believed, In honey-sweet naivety, That you could be my haven.
I tried to wipe you clean, But you stained my hands, Wiped streaks of self-doubt, The grease of your manipulation, Onto the white linen Of my once pristine dress. Then told me the stains Were but a figment, And that it was my fault, For being so careless.
If I am broken, I am what you made me. Just because, I dared to love you.

The Survivor
The story of us begin a spring so bright, We danced through the days, embracing every night,
Together we planted flowers for our love, Each one bloomed with promises from the stars above.
But as the petals fell and stars lost their gleam, Stitches binding our love story tore at the seam.
In your silent indifference laughter faded, The flowers wilted with the secrets you shaded,
The melodies I wrote you were left unsung, As I struggled to mend the chains come undone.
Your verbal arrows easily found their mark, Piercing tender skin, sinking into my heart.
Through the storm of your resentment, my love was worn, And our scattered love petals lay trampled and torn.
In the aftermath of your tempest, I stand, A survivor of you, lost in a wasteland.
With hope as my needle, and self-love as thread, I will stitch the broken heart you left for dead.

The Monster
My lost soul ventures a spacious lush path, As the years age me, the path grows narrow, At times I narrowly avoid fate's wrath, It follows close; a towering shadow.
The creature whispers taunts into my ear, As the lane bends and breaks with every choice, I try to tune out, but I can still hear, Clawing and screaming as it steals my voice.
It is a monster I must labor for, It's claws rip into the flesh of my back, At night the grip loosens when it snores, Yet my porcelain heart still begins to crack.
Depression starts to sing a lullaby, My journey threatens to come to an end, When hero appears to wipe my cheeks dry, A tender bear in the form of a friend.
I thought my heart too delicate to love, To Bear, it is a glittering treasure, He swears it's a gift from the stars above, Walking the path with me is a pleasure.
Some days I'm free and the monster will hide, During others, it makes an appearance, Through the journey Bear remains by my side, Healing cracks, aiding in perseverance.
My poetic heart bleeds and overflows, For I no longer walk the path alone, There are still times I wonder if Bear knows, The monster's a creation of my own.

To my Valentine...
The magnetic force of your love draws me near, It's senseless to resist the orbit my dear, In the galaxy of my thoughts you're the star, You're my guiding light, despite how far you are.
As the years pass and the universe expands, Through the dance of time, our love always withstands, Like the everchanging stars, we too shall grow, As days turn to years, my love will always show.

I do not feel things lightly, My disdain for you is great. Your trap shone too brightly, And I willingly took the bait.
For never a day goes by, That I do not feel detest. I cannot seem to say goodbye, To the steady drumming in my chest.
Bittersweet is a flavour, I've become familiar with, Loathing ripened by the hour, Only ended by death's scythe.
I thought perhaps by grace, I was not strong enough to hate. But when I see your face, I think it might be fate.

The blush of spring is here again, Our fingers linked like a daisy chain,
Through soft lips I'd speak but, The trees will know our secret,
Melodies created for you and I, Ring through the air and fill the sky,
Daisies rise from every word, Forgive me for I'm no song bird,
Between kisses and morning dew, My love for you I know is true,
So we'll whisper through our pain, And I'll make you that daisy chain.

Just like a vine in a summer garden, The tendrils stretch and grow without pardon, Tangled up in crevices of my heart, My love is rooted and never to depart.

The crescent moon shifts over my wandering mind, Dancing in circles, loneliness churns around me, Across the vast expanse a silent storm must wind, And toss my lost universe from air into sea.
Beyond the flood is a sailor with a tender heart, He is a crescent rainbow lighting up the sky, He casts the strife away and stands a heartbeat apart, Lifts the seething shadows; no longer will I cry.
I know his whispered promise will end my lament, My echoing soul sings songs of eternal love, As night's canvas fades into the morning's advent, Hid light eclipses the beautiful sky above.

The world never seems to grow dim As the wind hums a gentle hymn, Night looms over the inky sea. When you are right here beside me, Despite the dark and longing hours, I do not fear the night's glowers. For you shine brighter than a star, I'd give all just to be where you are.

The night wood has gone feral, Eden beckons, And the forest has opened to swallow us whole, The moon hides and I count the clock's seconds, The black inky canvas overs no refuge for a soul.
"Don't ever look, don't move a muscle," A hushed warning from my fireside friend, "Don't acknowledge her, or even cause a rustle, For the legend says you'll be at your wit's end."
The dark green underbrush whispers a threat, The fleeting shadows hold horrors untaught, Ghastly eyes linger and I begin to sweat, A sense of dread consumes my every thought.
The eerie creaking of the decaying wight, She stands behind me, her breath on my nape, I crack, give in, and stumble into the night, Terrified to see what follows, I try for escape.
I fear moving but know the circumstances, I stumble onward, hands shaking, mind cursed, But she trails me through the broken branches, For only my blood will quench her thirst.
Breath becomes ragged as my fears surround, An unwilling scream claws beneath my skin, There is no refuge or escape to be found, For the depths of the hell now stalk within.
I slip on the path and accept my story's end, A death so near there is no hope for retreat, She'll wear my face then murder my friend, The night muffles a scream as she begins to eat.

The burning tree bark turns to ash, And flowers blossom unabashed.
Could not find a way in the dark, For frozen nature holds no spark.
Pity those who face winter's wrath, Fear not the haunted snowy path.
The fire dances with the wood's embrace, For in the woods, you'll find love's grace.

I've been watching Princess Tutu for the first time with my friend and I really wanted to paint her and Kraehe Sort of an emotional post for me, because I gave up art for a long time before returning. Started drawing again last year! I'm still a huge art newb, but I had a lot of fun. Hope you like it!
