So this is heavy but recently shared, Akira Toriyama, legendary mangaka and creator of Dragon Ball has passed away today at age 68.
I know I am one of many when I say Akira Toriyama’s works were inspirational. The man’s incredibly legacy and influence on the tropes and style of manga we take for granted these days is practically unfathomable. From creators of all walks of life, professions and backgrounds.
He is an indisputable legend of the medium and inspirer of many. Thank you, Toriyama. Thank you and goodbye. May you rest in peace

I also build Gundam models. This was my first attempt at painting the pilots and mini figures that come with the kits. Epyon inner frame painting in work 🙂

This is probably my best piece of 2023, “Puppy”. Last year was a roller coaster of emotions, successes and failures (both in my personal life and professionally). I realized the beauty of the time we have, is not measured by only the highs, but also getting the chance to experience the lows of what life has to offer. Art has often been the way for me to express my emotions: Happiness, joy, sadness, mourning, excitement and dissolution, gain and loss. I have always been hesitant to share my art, mostly because I could not recognize that my art is a byproduct of my emotions: chaotic, structured, soft, hard, whimsical and everything else in between. Often reserved for only those close to me. I am trying to change that by sharing my art (and emotions) in the hope that it may inspire someone to express themselves without the fear of judgement or feeling alone. Know that I am with you, see you, and appreciate you. Even if it’s in passing by scrolling through apps.
We spend our days on this rock, flying through the vastness of space, without knowledge of how or when or even why we are placed here. I take solace and consider myself fortunate in being able to experience what life has to offer, good or bad.

I try to fill all the space on the pages in my sketchbooks. I feel it helps me come up with creative ways to fill the space, while trying to tell a story. Sometimes it’s simply chaos and nonsense. Others times, it comes together nicely, with interesting crossovers 😂 both drawn from reference
