Destiel in 15.3

That scene (and you know which one I’m talking about) was difficult to watch, but I’m actually really glad it happened. It’s only episode 3 out of 20, so it’s not like the destiel storyline, platonic or otherwise, is over. They have to resolve it in some fashion. And at least for once they actually acknowledged that Dean is treating Cas like shit, instead of just excusing it away and then never addressing it again.

This is the painful start to the 2k19 Make Cas Happy challenge!... until you remember the Empty.

Guys, months ago I wrote my minimum expectations for these writers. They genuinely said, we will take about 1/3 of your ideas AND THEN FUCK IT UP. My expectations we so low 😭 dear chuck, please tell me I didn’t manifest this.

How I want Supernatural S15 to end

In their final battle Dean dies protecting Sam. In his final moments he says goodbye to Sam and Cas, before reminding his brother, “no chick flick moments.”

Chuck and the angels leave earth permanently, allowing humans to act on their own free will without heaven’s influence.

Sam gets married, has children, and lives a normal life. He tells his kids all about their uncle Dean and how he saved the world.

We see Cas open a door in heaven. He smiles, before speaking the last lines of supernatural, “ Hello Dean.”

To be honest, if I had my way none of them would die, and destiel would be explicitly confirmed. However I think the above scenario is the best I can hope for with these writers.

Ok, I love Supernatural and I have for years. But... I’m seriously considering not watching tonight and instead checking Tumblr obsessively every 5 minutes. Never feel guilty, self conscious, or less than because you read fanfic instead of “real books.” In fact, here is a list of reasons why fanfic is even better than so-called real books.

- Representation: 79% of the publishing industry is white. Meanwhile fanfic authors represent a wide variety LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and neurodivergent perspectives, allowing readers to better understand those different from themselves.

- Feedback: if fanfic authors happen to misrepresent something, whether it be a culture,industry, or medical condition, people can comment and give them constructive criticism, helping them grow and correcting misconceptions.

- Accesibility: fanfic is an easy, inexpensive way for writers to share and develop their work. For people in rural areas that don’t have acccess to good libraries, sites like Ao3 are actually an awesome resource.

Of course, this barely scratches the surface of what’s great about fanfic! I would love to hear everyone else’s thoughts too!

Ok, so life is kind of shitty right now (huge understatement), and a lot of people are working so hard to fix that, from the employees at your local grocery store to the teachers trying to help kids learn in a chaotic situation.

But one group of people we don’t really thank are the fanfic authors out there! I know a lot of people trivialize fanfiction and those who enjoy it, but what they do is actually making a difference in a lot of people’s lives right now. Bringing a smile to someone’s face in 2020 is not a small thing! It helps us feel a little less hopeless and a little less isolated, something a lot of people need.
