The moment Kenma's eyes landed on the giant cat plushie at one of the arcade booths, he knew he must win you that one. He went as far as figuring out how the game was rigged so he could devise a plan on how to foil it. Eventually, he won, of course.

He always loved that cute twinkle in your eyes whenever he's making you smile. Add to that, the kisses and the tight hugs you gave him.

He was melting, pampered in your presence and he wanted nothing more in this world but you. Needless to say, he had been used to it, that he didn't really pay too much thought about it that much anymore.

That's about to change though.

The next day was just an ordinary day for the both of you...or was it really?

Kenma was streaming his game and noticed that it's already close to lunch time. He smiled to himself. Maybe you're super entertained that you didn't come to bother him while he's streaming anymore. Normally, there were times when you would peek your head at the door and ask for some attention, pfft.

Since you'd been quiet, he was thinking of being a little clingy during lunch. Surprise, surprise, you didn't even remind him to go eat unlike the usual. He stood from his desk and went over the dining table only to see you playing with the plushie.

"Oh, Ken Ken are you done? Sorry I got busy and forgot to call you." You said and he walked towards you with a plan to give you a hug, but you had your arms around the plushie, so he just went to his seat.

"Look, look...look at the pics I took of our meow meow...Isn't it cute?" You showed him the pictures you made with the plushie. You were irresistibly cute in all of them, still he pouted.

All the entire lunch time, you forgot to cuddle with him like before. Your arms belonged to the giant plushie he won you.

"I'll head back." He said.

"Okay," you didn't even look his way.

Kenma sighed and rationalized within himself that whatever he's feeling, was completely petty.

The entire afternoon went by with him doing advanced recordings until he decided to take a leak. He made his way to the bathroom and saw you sleeping. He fished his phone out of his pocket and took a picture of you. A small smile appeared on his face as he placed a little kiss on your forehead. Instead of scooting closer to him, however, you snuggled close to your giant plushie and hugged it even tighter.

Kenma grumbled under his breath, his brows knitted together. He had been denying it to himself, but all this time he was sulking. Ever since he got you that plushie, it was as if he'd been somewhat replaced.

During dinner, you obviously ate with your chin resting atop the plushie's head, while Kenma was glaring daggers at the poor thing.

Augh! He couldn't stand it! Ye he knew this was irrational and childish! But he wasn't like that with you whenever he's playing games. At least, it's only during boss fight.

He decided to keep his cool and just let it slide, recalling that there were few occasions when he chose to finish the game before you. He shouldn't be unfair to you and rather he should be thankful of that plushie for keeping you company. Right?

For this night, he decided to gave you more of his time. He missed the times when you would cuddle in bed together while watching a movie, so he dropped his game and finished his bath earlier.

"Y/N," Kenma called you and you looked at him. His hair was still wet and he was looking so clean and fresh, so perfect for cuddling. "Let's head to bed." He invited, giving you a sweet smile.

You happily walked towards him, holding the plushie by its hand. Kenma had his eyes sharp on the little thing. This ends tonight. He held your hand tight and you turned to him, wondering. "What's wrong?"

With his deft fingers, he removed the plushie's hand from your grasp and replaced the space in your hand with his. "Just us." He asserted with brooding eyes and you cluelessly melt by his side.

CALLING THEM BY THEIR LAST NAME | PT 1

ପ author's note. i was craving for something cute sooo… here it is :)

ପ pairing. haikyuu men x gn!reader

ପ with. kuroo tetsuro, sakusa kiyoomi, miya osamu, suna rintaro

♡ KUROO TETSURO

you would sometimes call him by his last name for no reason. maybe it’s because you two were close friends back in high school days when you used to call him ‘kuroo’. so of course, you had zero intentions behind your words.

but for kuroo, this man would panic and right away look down at you when his last name was heard from your voice. although he would sense relieved when he sees you’re not angry or anything.

but when you call him ‘kuroo’ about three to four times, this is when he would bring you to a private place and carefully ask you; “...did i do something wrong kitten? are you mad?”

“no? why would i be mad at you kuroo?” kuroo would sigh at your words, covering half of his face with his large hand. “th-then why are you calling me kuroo…”

“there’s no reason at all” you smile, making kuroo cover his entire face with both of his hands. “hahhhhh kittennn you’re scarin’ my heart”

♡ SAKUSA KIYOOMI

sakusa would not answer or look at you if you call him by his last name even after you two got married. you would thump your feet over to sakusa who was doing the dishes in the kitchen and say; “sakusa. look at me.”

sakusa would mumble something under his breath. “what?” you step forward, tipping your toes to hear him clearly. “what did you say?”

“...you’re sakusa too” you would look up at his pouty face with an absurd look on your face. making him stop whatever he's doing and turn around to you and utter; “...call me kiyoomi”

“no i will not, ‘m gonna call you sakusa” you would deny his plea until he is done with the dishes, he would put away the kitchen gloves and cross his arms while he looks down on you. “then there’s no point in changing your last name after i married you…”

♡ SUNA RINTARO

“suna-” precisely 0.1 seconds later suna would cut you off. “...rintaro.”

“suna.” you would call him by his last name again, sighing at his greediness. “suna i told you to put the trash away in the morni-”

“i will really do it if ya call me rin” he whispers, leaning his head down between your neck and shoulder, pressing his forehead against your shoulder line, mumbling ‘rin’ over again and again.

“rin” he would instinctively tilt his head up at your voice, somewhat making eye contact with you, smiling slightly. “yes that’s it, i’ll throw the trash away right now”

♡ MIYA OSAMU

osamu wouldn’t even acknowledge a single bit of you when you call him by his last name. “miya are you ignoring me?” you tilt your body in front of osamu to see his lips pouted and eyes rolling.

“why are you pouting?” you scoff at him, kinda finding it cute to see him all pouty. “there’s two miyas at school, how would i know who y’er callin’?” this is ridiculous. ridiculously cute. you would try your best to not laugh and giggle. “why would i call atsumu now?”

“‘m not miya, ‘m samu.” he would deadass ignore everything you are saying and wait until you call him by his first name. “are ya lips glued? call me samu right now” he would poke your cheek, still having his pouted look on his face. making you giggle and hug him. “samu m’baby i love ya”

Tsukki didn't know how it all went wrong. He planned this date right from how was he going to ask you out to how he's going to kiss you good night. He thought of the perfect words to say, the perfect places, the perfect restaurants, until it all fell apart.

"Hey lovely, I hope your brother wouldn't mind if I share a seat with you." A stranger charmingly asked you in front of Tsukishima.

"Brother?" Tsukki questioned the guy knowing fully well what the jerk meant. The dumbass' audacity to flirt with you in his presence.

"Ah, I see. Are you not?" The asshole chuckled, leaving a jab at your vexed boyfriend before he went away. "It's just that...you don't look like a couple at all."

For whatever reason, he stood there, frozen. He didn't expect that a backhanded comment like that would bite him so hard.

You probably wanted the hearts and flowers kind, Tsukki thought. Perhaps, someone who would tell you sweet nothings like Sugawara-san or kiss you out of nowhere like the pain-in-the-ass Kuroo-san.

But Tsukki had never been a very affectionate guy. Heck, it wasn't his nature. He knew this all too well. It kinda' stabbed him that all this time he was acting just like a brother and not as a lover who's meant for you.

"Tsukki, are you okay?" You asked, concerned. Ever since, that encounter, you invited him outside for a walk to get some fresh air and release tension, but he fell really silent and a bit lost in thoughts.

He reverted his glance at you. This was what he was talking about, but was he just going to accept that he wasn't doing good enough.

Seeing that he might not be feeling well, you started walking away, "Let's just head home if you don't feel fin-"

But Tsukki couldn't just let you go. Not ever.

"Hey, stupid." He grabbed your hand to stop you from walking, surprising you. He wrapped his arms around your frame, your back leaning against his chest as he snuggled close to you in a tight embrace. "I love you." He whispered against your ear.

Your eyes widened and you couldn't believe what you just heard. "It's the first time, Tsukki." You pulled away to see his face and your heart felt the good kind of heavy when you saw the moon shining on his own right in front of you.

He held your hand and laced your fingers together. "It's not going to be the last." He's just stating a fact, because he knew that there's something about you that always made him do silly things just like this one.

As Oikawa Tooru said, if you're gonna hit it, hit it 'til it breaks. However, Kageyama Tobio, jersey number 20 and Schweiden Adlers' setter, was breaking it more than he should.

He had been slamming the ball like he's aiming for it to explode. It was so far from his calm and calculated nature. His teammates noticed this unlikely behavior emerging ever since the second set.

At some point in the game, they began whispering to each other and Hoshiumi couldn't control his head from swiveling towards the upper left in the audience.

Oh.

You...You had been a complicated element in Tobio's life. There's this strong tension that existed between you that never came out in the open. Just friends. Just friends his ass.

Kageyama saw you laughing with that dude whom he just saw for the very first time. How dare you attend his game with what it seemed to be your boyfriend?

Hoshiumi rolled his eyes. You saw him approached Kageyama and they bickered.

You were shocked and worried when the setter was put back on the bench during the remaining minutes of the last set.

The Adlers won with Kageyama on the sidelines, watching. He looked perplexed and agitated. You were sure he's upset that's why at the end of the game, you rushed to check up on him. As a friend. Only as a friend, right?

Once Hoshiumi saw you approaching the team, he immediately directed you to the person of your concern. "Thank god. He's right there," he said, pointing with his thumb.

You mildly bowed your head to thank him and went to the hallway where you saw your friend drinking water from the fountain.

"Kageyama, nice game! The team won because you played so well."

He turned his gaze at you, scowling. "What are you doing here? You shouldn't be here." He said, sharply.

"W-What do you mean?" You asked and winced, surprised at his comment.

"I don't know, Y/N. Who's that guy?"

"Guy? What guy?"

He towered over you that you were pinned against the wall with his strong built blocking you.

"Never mind. Just go to your boyfriend."

You quirked up an eyebrow and nervously answered. "Uhmm, I don't have a boyfriend."

"Then who's that guy you're happily getting so cozy with?"

"A classmate. Just a classmate, Kageyama. We're not even that close." Although you badly wanted to tell him, 'what's it to you, anyway?' with his temper right now, you knew you shouldn't.

"A classmate." He mumbled to himself as he firmly closed his eyes. You watched him calmed his nerves down.

You thought he's just going back to the normal Tobio who would dismiss the situation and apologize in a stern manner, but you were surprised when he cupped the back of your head and pulled your face close to him.

Softly almost tentatively, he touched your lips with his. Your eyes were wide but his were closed. Soon, you found yourself gripping on the fabric of his jersey and gently closing your eyes as well.

You couldn't believe you're kissing him nor that he could actually do this when he's usually so uptight, but it was a moment you enjoyed. Despite the hunger in his kisses, you felt warm and you felt him trying to control himself so badly.

He broke away, leaving both of you breathless.

With a tone you have never heard before and perhaps you never thought you'd ever hear from him, Kageyama spoke gently.

"I never want to see you with that guy again...E-Especially not during my games!"

A visible pout was evident on his as he tried to hide his blushing face from you. He took a hold of your hand and walked you away from the stadium.

All the while, Hoshiumi watched agape and partly grossed out.

"What happened?" Ushijima asked.

"You don't wanna know."

Iwaizumi always had his eyes on you, but it's such a shame that your heart belonged to someone else, or so he thought.

You're always present during their games and you always had those cute red cheeks all throughout, but the crowd screamed a different name.

Oikawa-san~!

Looking at your direction, you had that hopeful look in your eyes just like the other girls beside you. How he wished that gaze was for him, but it wasn't so he just chose to turn away.

Until that one fated day, he saw his childhood best friend talking to you. Something inside him was ignited like a livid fire crawling under his skin.

Call him angry stupid, he couldn't careless anymore. He charged head on, seeing you sobbing while taking to Oikawa.

Iwaizumi couldn't give a single crap about the other girls who had their hearts broken because of his best friend, but not you. You're different. He's feeling guilty. If it was only him you won't be crying like this. He should've confessed from the start.

"Hey, Shittykawa! What do you think you're doing huh?" He aggressively grabbed the collar of his friend.

"Oh, Iwa-chan- Why are you coming onto me like that? I didn't do anything!"

"Y/N! Why is Y/N crying like that? What did you do?"

Oikawa mischievously looked your way as if a great idea popped his mind. "Why does it bother you so much?" He teased, infuriating Iwaizumi even more. "Why do you care so much, Iwa-chan?"

"You-" Iwaizumi tightened his hold on his friend until his gaze landed upon you and your questioning teary eyes. He felt stuck in his throat. Could he just say that it's all because he likes you and you should be better off with him than his best friend?

Oikawa sighed and removed his friend's hands on his shirt, "Fine, fine, I'm just teasing Y/N-chan here that you already like someone else."

Both yours and Iwaizumi's gazes snapped on each other as if it was the breakthrough you're both wanting to have all this time.

"Thank me later," Oikawa said as he proudly patted his friend's shoulder and walked away.

Your faces were both heating up as you stood in front of each other, speechless. However, Iwaizumi felt like he had to clear things up.

He grasped your upper-arms and explained, "What Oikawa said wasn't true! I don't like any-" He stopped midway, realizing it's a lie, because he likes someone. "You...cheering the team during the games and practices...it wasn't for Oikawa? Wasn't it?"

You nodded your head in affirmation red in the face. "It's not him."

Still holding your arms, he gulped and mumbled curses under his breath until he composed himself. "I've always thought you were there for him."

You shook your head as his eyes found yours and his hand touched your cheek. Leaning forward, you could feel his breath fanned against your nose.

"Wrap it up! We still have practice!" Oikawa announced from afar which made Iwa grunt in disappointment.

"Later, after practice, okay?" He asked you with anticipation and gentleness.

"O-Okay!" Your cheeks reddened.

"I-I mean I'll see you later." He tried to explain but of you were already flustered and looking forward to something more. Maybe, he'd continue the kiss later too. After all, there's no holding back now.

It was Kuroo's 6th popsicle and 4th towel already. He leaned his head back and complained, "It's so hot!" Then all of a sudden, his eyes widened as if a bright idea entered his mind. "Let's go to the beach!" He said, ecstatically.

You froze, momentarily. You weren't quite a fan of the beaches. Letting your phone down, you turned your attention to him. "Hmmm..." You tapped your chin, giving the impression that you were giving it a thought. "I think it's a great idea."

"Really?" He excitedly reacted, sitting upright.

You nodded your head in agreement and lobbied, saying, "Yeah, you'll be able to eye pretty girls there in their two-piece swimsuits."

His eyes widened for a brief moment and rubbed the back of his neck. "Th-That's-"

"It's alright. I understand."

"Huh? You do?" He questioned as if not believing you.

"Yeah," you said, nonchalantly. "While you do that, I'll watch some hot guys out there with smoldering abs at the same time. Oh! How 'bout we go to Hawaii. I've heard there are some hot Aussie guys there."

Tetsu bit the inside of his lower-lip, seething. "What do you mean? Are my abs not good enough for you?" He complained with a heavy and pouty tone.

You sure did your best in holding your laughter. "Meh, I see them everyday. A different view would be nice."

His intense gaze was definitely cutting you right now, while you acted like there's nothing even wrong with that idea. You went back to your phone and murmured something about booking a hotel already.

Out of nowhere, you were shocked when he laid his body and weight over you. His arms squished you as you tried pushing him away. "Stop it, Tetsu! It's already so hot and you're sweaty. I just took a bath!"

"So what, huh? You're tired of me now, pervert." He scolded you and you looked back at him and saw his annoyingly cute grumpy expression.

You chuckled. "No, babe. It's just scorching right now and I need you to get off of me. Let's just go to the beach, kay?"

As if!

Feeling his embrace tightened, you were surprised when he carried you. He loudly laughed when you involuntarily squealed. "What's this? What're you gonna do? Tetsu!"

"I'm bringing you to Hawaii." He said as he opened the bathroom door with just his foot and placed you down in the bath tub.

He turned the shower knob and completely drenched you. Before you could protest, he took his shirt off and threw it on the floor. "You're allowed to view only these abs."

You started cracking up. "I can't believe you," you said in between laughs, "I hate you! You're so annoying. Such an annoying dork!" You said, but with the way you were laughing your ass out, he knew that he just won another piece of your heart. That's...if he hadn't won all of it yet.

Crawling over you, he caged you in his frame. "Still not like what you see? I can still show more, pervy."

You giggled. It looks like you had a new nickname in the books now. Placing your hands on his shoulders, you replied, "Yeah, more is a great idea."

Tetsurou laughed in return. "So pervy wants a show, huh? If I do, would you still want to go to the beach?"

You pressed your forehead against his, your noses touching. "I guess, not anymore."

He grinned as if he won the jackpot, not knowing that the real winner was actually you since you didn't want to go to the beach in the first place. However, in your heart, you knew that he just won you ten times over this time.

It's your much-awaited prom night and you were happily dancing with your friends, while Sugawara...well, he's happily watching you from afar. There's something about the way you're all lit up and happy that gives him an extra shot of serotonin no energy drink can give.

He'd been thinking of a way to approach you any moment now. Should he just slide in and dance with you? No, that might seem like he's coming too strong. Maybe he could offer you a fruit punch and casually talk to you? Perfect.

You noticed him smiling your away and you shyly gave him a little giggle you couldn't even hold back yourself from doing. You're totally crushing on him. How silly! Now, he probably knew that you liked him. Geez.

He's your senpai, whom you met when he volunteered to give you advanced studies. The way he's just super caring, sweet and endearing how could you not fall for the likes of him? There were times, you would admit, that you're in it for the study sessions just to see him.

His pure, innocent and precious one being hit on by some random boy who probably doesn't even reach his growth spurt. Suga puffed his cheeks. Forget about the fruit punch. He's gonna go straight up for you.

"Hey, how are you doing? Are you having fun so far?" Suga smiled at you that sweet smile that always make you melt.

Classmate who? Your attention now belonged to your charming senpai, who, by the way, looked so fine in that suit and tie. "Uh- uh, I'm having fun, so far."

He chuckled at you and glanced at your classmate. Suga extended his hand to him and shook it firmly. "You are?"

"I'm her classmate."

"Oh, just a classmate?" Suga asked.

You abruptly answered. "Yes!"

He looked at you, surprised. He took note of your blushing cheeks and your fidgeting. Sugawara chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck. Perhaps, he didn't really have to worry after all.

Daichi didn't know if you planned to wear his high school volleyball jersey today or it's just a coincidence, but it sure was giving him a hard time. He couldn't keep his eyes on you, something not advisable when driving. Were you punishing him for being so busy at work?

Good thing, you stopped for a while to gaze at the stars or else he might lose the wheel, such a big shame for a police officer.

Your boyfriend was always dedicated in everything he considers important. Yes, you also completely understand the nature of his work, but you couldn't help but miss him sometimes. That's why when he invited you out for a late night drive, you couldn't pass up the opportunity

You stood beside each other, your backs leaning against the car. You took a hint of him in every breath you take, the way his scent lingered on his shirt and the way he's just so near you.

Meanwhile, he couldn't brush off the way you looked so perfect and soft in his jersey. How he wanted to feel you in his arms, your warmth against the palm of his hands.

You inched near him, your arm touching his. He took the moment to wrap an arm around your waist, pulling you closer. Instinctively, you glanced up at him and he looked at you, gulping dryly. He closed the gap between you, taking your lips into his.

It felt like the first time—the way he pinned you against the car, his broad body caging you completely as he got lost in the way you feel in every contact of his lips with yours. Your hands fisted his shirt and he found his fingers lingering on the edge of his jersey.

He pulled away breathless and so were you. Both of your eyes hazy and full of yearning for each other.

"Let's go home." He said and you smiled in victory. The shirt worked.

Tooru will probably get mad that I told you this but he's planning to propose to you anytime soon. And no, it didn't take him time plan this. It's like he woke up one day and realized how much you really mean to him. He simply just wants to make you his, because he wants to spend every night with you, staying up late talking about your future together.

He's planning to take you on a beach. Like, he's imagining you in your swimming attire and he's all giddy giggling himself to his pillow. He's also practicing how he's gonna romance you during the date. Like, how the pickup lines he'll be throwing and stuff. He's pondering whether he should be romantic, playful or seductive. He's totally rehearsing each role in his head like a total hopeless romantic. Though, he's also crying too when realizes that you're finally getting married! Oops, yeah he's 100% sure you're gonna say 'yes'.

Watch out for the sunset, he might bend on one knee during it and pull out a diamond ring. It will feel all too sudden for you but there's so much love in the air and you also feel like it's just the right time. Be careful because he's gonna be super sweet during this proposal date.
