Navy's Trick or Treat Nonsense

As you lovelies know, October is a time for tricks, treats, and more. While I don't have anything planned for Kinktober, I do have some nonsense in mind. Still with me?

Similar to my Naughty & Nice Nonsense, I plan to share various one-shots and ficlets throughout the month of October. Each pairing will be revealed on the day I post and shared on my sideblog, @navybrat817-sideblog. It may be dark, fluffy, smutty, or a combination of things. It may be 500 words or over 3k. It may incorporate an Autumn or a Halloween theme. Who knows? It's nonsense! 😂

Hoodie Season | Hyung Line

Chris

Would it still be considered ‘taking his hoodie’ if he actively encouraged you to wear them?

It’s probably his favorite thing in the world - seeing you relaxing on the couch in his studio while wrapped up in one of his hoodies, doing your own thing while he worked on one of his many tracks.

“You doing okay over there, baby?” He called over his shoulder, sliding his headphones around his neck before turning in his chair, “Hungry or anything?”

You looked over at him with a soft smile and he couldn’t help but give a dimpled smile back, admiring the way his hoodie nearly swamped you in fabric.

“I’m fine - could probably go for a bite later on, though.”

“20 minutes and I’m all yours - my treat.” He offered with a grin, hiding a chuckle when you sat up at his prospect.

“Sounds perfect, but don’t rush yourself, alright?”

He loved it even more whenever you’d send him a random selfie during the day; sometimes making a silly face or using a cute filter, and the collar of his gray Maniac hoodie would show up in the edge of the photo - or even covering your head, and partially your face due to how oversized he ordered it.

Sometimes, when their schedule had them going out for a few days or so, he’d make sure to leave behind your favorite hoodie of his with a note; ‘In case you miss me too much’.

Chris would absolutely end up getting matching hoodies for the both of you, even going so far as spraying yours with his cologne to make it feel more like his.

All in all, Chris absolutely loved the idea of you “stealing” his hoodies, even if he was the one giving them to you.

Minho

Though Minho wasn’t the type to have a closet overflowing with hoodies like a few of his members - Chris, Seungmin, and Jeongin, namely - he did have four or five that he kept in his rotation. So, when that rotation shortened by one, he knew who the culprit was immediately.

“Hi, you!” Your charming voice filled the speaker of his phone, and he wasted no time in getting to the point of his call.

“I didn’t know I was dating a thief.”

A confused hum came through the phone, before he heard the tell-tale sound of a hidden giggle, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

He scoffed, amused at the failed smugness you attempted in your tone, “Oh, really? So you know nothing about a green Mahagrid hoodie that was hanging in my closet the last time you came over?”

“Nope, not a clue, I don’t even know what a hoodie is!”

This time he couldn’t help but laugh, “You can’t trick me! I know you took it from my closet - what do you even need it for anyways? Didn’t you end up buying one in a different color?!”

“Yes - but it’s not the same! Yours is so much softer, Min, can you blame me?”

“Actually, I can, since it’s stolen property.”

“Then sue me!”

“I will!” He smiled at the sound of your laughs on the other end, only to look up and see a few of the other members trickling into the dance studio, “We’ll continue this later, thief.”

“I’ll make sure my lawyer’s present - have fun at practice, honey.”

Hanging up, he let the remnants of the silly conversation settle over him before he felt his phone vibrate, lighting up with a text message from you. Opening the text chat, he was met with a picture of you in said stolen hoodie, a mischievous grin on your lips with a text underneath; “Thief: 1, Boyfriend: 0”.

He wouldn’t admit it out loud, but his heart skipped a beat seeing you in clothing he’d worn himself - you looked so natural in it, somehow more comfortable than when you wore your own.

Sure, he’d make a whole scene of it whenever you’d manage to swap out his rotation again, but deep down he felt a sense of pride about it - he even added a few more into his selection just to see them disappear from his closet after a month or so.

You were a hoodie thief, but you were his hoodie thief, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Changbin

Changbin was the perfect subject for stealing hoodies - the sizes were always perfect for being hugged in fabric with hoodie-paws from the oversized sleeves, not to mention the fact that he left them everywhere, so who could blame you from picking them up and adding them to your own collection at home?

“Sweetheart? Have you seen my hoodie?” He called from your room, the sound of him shuffling through his duffle bag echoing down the short hall.

“The one you came over in? It’s on the couch, Binnie!”

“No, no, there was one I had a week ago, I thought I left it in the recording studio but none of the staff saw it so I figured it’d be back at the dorm!” His voice grew louder as he entered the living room, bed head fluffy and black t-shirt slightly ruffled, “But then I couldn’t find it when I got home, so I just wanted to know if you saw it anywhere.”

“I don’t know, Bin, you have so many it’s kind of hard to keep track of.” You walked into the living room from the kitchen, attention focused on sending a text, “What color is it, maybe I-”

“Hey!”

You jumped, looking up at him with furrowed eyebrows, tilting your head when he merely stared back at you with an incredulous grin.

“You’re wearing it! I thought you didn’t know where it was- when’d you get it from the studio?!” He rushed toward you, eyes bright with an even brighter smile on his face as he took you in; the green Supreme hoodie that was already big on him had practically doubled in size on you in the cutest way possible. “You’re so adorable in it! God, how’d you manage to get even cuter? What am I going to do with you?”

You could barely get a word in when he took you into his arms, rocking side to side and smothering your cheeks in a flurry of kisses.

“B-Bin! I didn’t know, I swear!” You managed to wiggle your face away from his onslaught of kissing and incoherent cooing, “Chris noticed you left it and gave it to me the last time I visited the building with Felix - I meant to give it to you but then I wore it one time and it just… stuck with me!”

Changbin held you at arms length, studying the way his hoodie came to your thighs, the way the sleeves were bunched excessively around your wrists - he swore if you put the hood over your head, you’d turn into a green Supreme hoodie monster.

“I’ll give it back if you want to wear-”

“No! Keep it, it looks good on you - I’ll just wear the other one and when I want it back, I’ll trade with you.”

Of course he’d hold true to his word; whenever you had a hoodie of his that he wanted to wear, he’d trade you for one you wanted to wear, and vice versa - anything to see you wrapped up in his clothes.

Hyunjin

If Minho was jokingly dramatic about his hoodies being stolen, Hyunjin was overly dramatic - almost to the point where it was like the world was ending and he’d never see his dear hoodies ever again.

Of course, he loved seeing you attempt to recreate his outfits with his hoodies as the staple piece, but that didn’t mean he was going to pass up the chance at giving you little hassle for raiding his closet.

“Hyun, it’s only for one day, I promise I’ll give it back to you!”

“But why do you have to take that one?! Why can’t you take the gray one, it goes better with your shoes!”

You rolled your eyes at his stylistic reasoning, clutching the black SKZ hoodie in your hands. “Because I want to wear this one, whether it goes with my shoes or not!”

“But what if I wanted to wear that one? Huh? What about me?” He pouted at you from his position on his bed, tilting his head to add to the pitiful curl of his lips.

“If you wanted to wear this one, you’d be wearing it instead of your balenciaga one, now wouldn’t you?” Raising an eyebrow at him, a bashful smile easily broke through his dramatic facade as he tugged at the black sleeves making you laugh. “What am I going to do with you, my drama prince?”

“Keep taking my hoodies until I’m left with nothing but a worn out t-shirt?” He grinned, running a hand through his unstyled blond hair.

“Darling, you have more clothes than me, I think you’ll survive missing this one hoodie.” Sliding the article over your head, you took a second to go over the fit in his mirror with a satisfied hum. Maybe it didn’t go with your shoes, but it was warm and smelled like him, and that was all that mattered.

“Miss it?! Nuh uh, you said it was only for today you thief!”

Safe to say, after a bit more teasing - and giving him kisses as “payment” for wearing his clothes - you both ended up going out in his hoodies, but one of them might not have ended up back where it belonged.

NEW CHAPTER! A Trick of the Light

Chapter Eleven: Home Winds

Hello lovelies! I think we all owe a HUGE thanks to @donteattheappleshook for making sure I stayed on track for this long overdue chapter ♥️

“So,” Emma said over a mouthful of toast- would you like some bread with your honey, love?- Hope lying at her feet under the table, happily singing old tavern songs Emma pretended not to hear. “Let me get this straight.”

The Knights has called a Round Table, Emma snorting into her tea as the paige delivered the request for Killian’s presence- it’s just just such a wonderful use of corporate jargon, that’s all- to discuss the future of the kingdom, and to catch the new king up on anything and everything they felt he needed to know.

Which was practically everything, much to his chagrin.

“No one knows where Arthur is.”

“Correct.”

“No one knows what happened to Merlin.”

“Correct.”

“No one has seen or heard from Lancelot in ‘they can’t remember how long’.”

“Correct again, love.”

A small hand appeared beside Killian’s elbow and he leaned down to nip gently at the wiggling fingers, the hand disappeared at the same time as Hope’s manic giggling broke the comfortable quiet from beneath the wooden frame before her small hand reappeared, trying again. Killian smiled and pressed a slice of apple into her waiting palm- what do we say, lovie?- and her voice floated up to them amid the crunching of her treat- t’anks, daddy.

Emma grinned wickedly at him for a moment and he narrowed his eyes at her- no, Swan, don’t- before she flicked her hair, correcting him as she usually did- Jones- and tucking the inevitable daddy comment away for future yielding.

☾‧⁺˖⋆ ┊ Valen is my most fleshed out and developed character. He's a competent, aggressive, and charismatic contractor for a private security company called Ares Systems. His work consists of various clandestine wetwork operations and specialized threat mitigation contacts. A headhunter, and a charming one at that when he wants to be. Valen is inherently talented in his line of work. He's the bad guy hunting other bad guys, which has earned him the alias 'the Saint'. He's made a career out of violence, partly because his vampire genetics dictate that he is a designed to be an apex predator. His love of the hunt and his skill as a hunter come naturally to him. Valen likes motorcycles, gin, snake plants, night life, cage fights, thunderstorms, bite marks, sex, and cigarettes. He's also very happily taken and has the ring (and marks) to prove it. Aside from the intimidating exterior, Valen is incredibly sweet and loving to his husband; having been the other half in two toxic relationships, he never wants to treat his loved ones the same way as he was treated.

☾‧⁺˖⋆ ┊I'm in the process of building my own Cyberpunk world that's modeled off of the TTRPG by Talsorian and Mike Pondsmith. It is a campaign of sorts where I'll be telling my character's stories. I've detached them from the video game itself. While I will still build this campaign within Night City and will retain some ambiguous lore from the game, I'm worldbuilding in a way that is far different from video game lore/canon as a whole. I'm calling it Nyx Aeterna and it blends the supernatural with cyberpunk. Night City looks only partly like it does in the videogame, because in my campaign, it looks more like Los Angeles with residential neighborhoods, more distinct districts, and more varied city design. There are also new gangs that I've created; Archangel, Chimera, Caliban, The Lucianos, and Ghost Run. In my campaign, werewolves, mages, and vampires coexist as Night City is a sort of safe haven, or neutral hub where they can live in relative safety. Conflicts between them still occur, but not to a grand scale.

not to like, hop on the fuck tumblr train that’s been going around but choo choo motherfuckers i have an idea for a social media platform that will be completely feral. if you know coding (bc i do not) and you want to actually genuinely help with this let me know!! because i think i have something fun here.

at the beginning of the most recent wave of stupid updates that tumblr has so wonderfully (/s) supplied us, and when twitter became x, i realized that there’s kind of a gap in the market of a genuinely good social media platform and i was split between two options in my head.

Orbital, a “serious” social media platform that would have a lot of themes around space and take itself seriously as a genuine competitor for the virtual black hole that x and instagram and facebook has left over the last few years.

or Foolery, a less serious social media platform that would not take itself seriously and lean into the fuckery that is tumblr and twitter and somehow combine them, with themes around the circus and other performative careers.

can you guess which one i want to do?

(Foolery, it’s Foolery. i am obsessed with this stupid idea.)

so, i have put some thought into this. like, not a lot, but more than none! here is a few of the basics that i have thought about:

The sign-in/sign-up page would have a randomized slogan from a list of however many we come up with. ‘Welcome to the show’, ‘a place for tricks and treats’, ‘a place filled with shenanigans’ etc

Home Icon - a big top circus tent, where you would end up doom scrolling content. this would have two different modes, similar to tumblr, it would default to chronological, but you could also chose to participate in an algorithm.

Profile Icon - a clown nose, on desktop every time you click on it, it honks like a clown nose does. view your account here.

Creating a post would be called ‘Create an Act’ with different forms available—text, picture, video, poll, etc. the icon for this would be a quill.

Followers would be labeled as the Audience, which would be toggle-able, by default this is set to private, which means that only the owner of the account would be able to see the number, but can be turned public. There would also be an option to just list your Troupe, which would be your mutuals.

There are three admin accounts—Tom, Foolery, and Tomfoolery. Foolery is the publicity, Tom is the cryptid user that appears randomly to comment on peoples post, and Tomfoolery is updates, polling, feedback, etc.

Tickets are notifications as a whole—how many interactions with the post there are, whether that’s likes (peanuts), reposts (unnamed, maybe just reposts ¯\_(ツ)_/¯), comments, etc.

Peanuts are likes. It means you enjoyed the Act (post). maybe feeds the algorithm.?

Golden Tickets are similar to blaze—you can use a Golden Ticket to boost an Act, whether it’s your own or another person’s, so it shows up as a recommended Act for more people in the same fandom/side of Foolery.

I want there to be a tagging system similar to tumblr, but a filtering system similar to ao3? idk if that makes sense, but my basic thoughts are: +tags are used to add to a certain tag and can be searched using that tag. -tags are used to exclude that tag, and can be used to avoid the tag itself. (ex. a post tagged with ‘+steddie’ would be able to be searched using the tag, but a post tagged ‘-steddie’ would specifically be excluded from that tag, but still used as a kind of ‘content warning’ type thing, like ‘-tw blood’ or something similar)

Tragedy/Comedy masks? idk what for, but i think they’d be fun.

Jester Hat - used to signify ‘official’ accounts? i doubt companies or celebrities would use Foolery because obviously but like. just in case, we can publicly shame them for using the literal clown app.

i’ve seen @ariesbilly’s tags about wanting billy covered in blood so many times that i just had to write this little diddy (sorry for tagging you if you don’t like being tagged eek!)

tw horror, blood, heavily implied murder

It’s Halloween night and Billy steps out of the house quietly, shutting the door behind him and setting his axe down near the entrance carefully. Standing on the front porch, he lifts a blood-soaked hand to his lips, a cigarette pinched between his fingers. His face and clothes are splattered with the same colour, metallic and warm, and he covers the flame of his zippo with his other hand as the tip of the cigarette burns cherry red.

He snaps the lighter shut with a flick and inhales deep, eyes fluttering shut as he recalls the screams and begging only moments ago, a ghost of a smile dancing on his lips as he does. The fresh memory brings glee - the feeling of freedom, of choice, of vindication. Things he’d just given himself after a lifetime of the opposite.

“Trick or treat!”

Billy opens his eyes as he hears the group of children yell at him, their faces painted and decked out in their finest (shittiest) costumes. Hawkins brats, eager for sugar from strangers. He had been so caught up in his thoughts that he hadn’t heard them approach. He lifts a brow and glances around, spots the bowl of candy that Susan had left outside before she’d gone to drop off Max, and grabs a fistful from it.

“Happy Halloween, you little shits,” Billy mutters with a smirk around the filter of his cigarette, sprinkling the candy into the opened bags held out to him. The children rush off quickly and Billy watches them go, taking another deep drag as their parents eye him wearily.

As they should. He’s been getting dirty looks ever since he’d pulled up in his Camaro, for no damn reason, so it was time he finally gave people a reason to actually fear him.

As he’s finishing his cigarette, a familiar Beamer drives up the street. Steve parks his car and steps out, dressed in the dorkiest vampire costume Billy’s ever seen, and the brunette stops in his tracks as he’s halfway to the house.

Those big, brown eyes are wide as he takes in Billy, eyeing the blood drying on his jeans and shirt, before settling on the bloody axe behind his boyfriend. He looks to Billy again and grins, “You’re really going to scare the shit outta some kids looking like that.”

“Wait, it’s Halloween?” Billy blinks in faux surprise, playing dumb for a moment before smirking as he watches Steve make his way up the rest of the walk, “What a lucky coincidence.”

Steve chuckles softly with a shake of his head, stepping up onto the porch and lifting a hand to swipe his thumb over Billy’s lips, wiping away the blood there, “Lucky, indeed,” he hums before pressing a kiss to Billy’s mouth.

Billy hums in return, kissing back for a moment before pulling away and tilting his head back towards the front door, “C’mon, there’s one more decoration I wanna put out here. Need your help.”

And if Steve notices that it’s Neil wrapped up in the shower curtain they place on the front lawn, with the rest of the gaudy decorations Max made, he doesn’t say anything.

15 questions for mutuals...

Tagged by @welcomingdisaster (thank you). Fact-checking, 5'8" buddies for the win! I've done this before, I think, but can't find it to link, so let's do it again. Any inconsistencies between old and new versions are fair game for questions ;).

1. Are you named after anyone? First name no, middle name yes.

2. When was the last time you cried? Yesterday. It clears the ducts, physically and emotionally. As good as a walk on a thundery day.

3. Do you have kids? Two living. Lights of my life, harpoons in my heels. Parenting's a treat and an adventure.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Yes, but I try to make it about things and situations, not at particular people. It's a balance that has taken some time to acquire.

5. What sports do you play/have played? Dance (very seriously for many years), swimming (for fun only), horseback riding and hiking. And lately, juggling! Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

6. What's the first thing you notice about people? How they carry themselves: ease and set and posture. Balance and openness (or not). All the little physical tells about the mind and heart inside.

7. What's your eye color? BROWN!! The best color. ;)

8. Scary movies or happy endings? Eh, happy endings, I guess. I appreciate an occasional startle, but I don't like gore.

9. Any special talents? When the collapse comes, I will keep your children laughing and learning while you forage for food and filter the water and get the fire going. After the meal, I'll sing everyone to sleep.

10. Where were you born? In a place that no longer exists.

11. What are your hobbies? Reading, writing, singing, gardening (badly), cooking when the mood strikes me, enjoying the marvelously serious and silly minds of my children while I can.

12. Do you have pets? Hard no. Grew up in a house full of them. Other people's pets are fun, but I deeply appreciate the lack of fur and fuss and extra responsibility in my own space now.

13. How tall are you? I was 5 foot 8 at my peak. I have weathered to 5 foot 6 and 3/4.

14. Favorite subject in school? Languages and social sciences.

15. Dream job? I'm in it! Although I still wish I had more time for family and fun.
