Huey P. Newton (1942-1989)

'The Revolution has always been in the hands of the young. The young always inherit the revolution.' - Huey Newton

This is his story.

Huey Percy Newton was born on February 17th, 1942, in Monroe, Louisiana. The youngest of seven children to Armelia Johnson and Walter Newton, he was named after former Governor of Louisiana, Huey Long.

His family relocated to Oakland, California, in search of better economic opportunities in 1945. His family struggled financially and frequently relocated, but he never went hungry or homeless.

Growing up in Oakland, Newton recalled his white teachers making him feel ashamed for being African-American, despite never being taught anything useful. In his Autobiography, ‘Revolutionary Suicide’, he wrote – “Was made to feel ashamed of being black. During those long years in Oakland Public Schools, I did not have one teacher who taught me anything relevant to my own life or experience. Not one instructor ever awoke in me a desire to learn more or to question or to explore the worlds of literature, science, and history. All they did was try to rob me of the sense of my own uniqueness and worth, and in the process nearly killed my urge to inquire.”

He also had a troubled childhood; he was arrested several times as a teenager for gun possession and vandalism.

Huey was illiterate when he graduated from high school, but he taught himself to read and write by studying poetry before enrolling at Merritt College.

During his time there, he supported himself by breaking into homes in Oakland and Berkeley Hills and committing other minor offenses. He also attended Oakland College and San Francisco Law School, ostensibly to improve his criminal skills.

He joined Pi Beta Sigma Fraternity while still a student at Merritt College and met Bobby Seale, a political activist and engineer. Huey also fought for curriculum diversification, the hiring of more black instructors, and involvement in local political activities in the Bay Area.

In addition, he was exposed to a rising tide of Black Nationalism and briefly joined the Afro-American Association, where he studied Frantz Fanon, Che Guevara, Mao Zedong, E. Franklin Frazier, James Baldwin, Karl Marx, and Vladimir Lenin.

Huey had adopted a Marxist/Leninist viewpoint in which he saw the black community as an internal colony ruled by outside forces such as white businessmen, City Hall, and the police. In October 1966, he and Bobby Seale founded The Black Panther Party for self-defense, believing that the black working class needed to seize control of the institutions that most affected their community.

It was a coin toss that resulted in Newton becoming defense minister and Seale becoming chairman of the Black Panther Party. Newton’s job as the Minister of Defense and main leader of the Black Panther Party was to write in the Ten-Point Program, the founding document of the Party, and he demanded that blacks need the “Power to determine the destiny of our Black Community”. It would allow blacks to gain “Land, bread, housing, education, clothing, justice, and peace.”

The Panthers took advantage of a California law allowing people to carry non-concealed weapons and established armed patrols that monitored police activity in the Black Community.

One of the main points of focus for the Black Panther Party was the right to self-defense. Newton believed and preached that sometimes violence, or even the threat of violence, is required to achieve one's goals.

Members of the Black Panther Party once stormed the California Legislature while fully armed in order to protest the outcome of a gun bill.

Newton also established the Free Breakfast for Children Program, martial arts training for teenagers, and educational programs for children from low-income families.

The Black Panthers believed that in the Black struggle for justice, violence or the potential for violence may be necessary.

The Black Panthers had chapters in several major cities and over 2,000 members. Members became involved in several shoot-outs after being harassed by police.

On October 28, 1967, the Panthers and the police exchanged gunfire in Oakland. Huey was injured in the crossfire, and while recovering in the hospital, he was charged with killing an Oakland police officer, John Frey.

He was convicted of voluntary manslaughter the following year.

Huey was regarded as a political prisoner, and the Panthers organized a 'Free Huey' campaign led by Panther Party Minister Eldridge Cleaver. And Charles R. Geary, a well-known attorney who was in charge of Newton’s legal defense.

Newton was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter in 1968 and sentenced to 2-15 years in prison. However, the California Appellate Court ordered a new trial in May 1970. The conviction was reversed on appeal, the case was dismissed by the California Supreme Court, and Huey was acquitted.

Huey renounced political violence after being released from prison. Over a six-year period, 24 Black Panther members were killed in gunfights with the police. Another member, George Jackson, was killed in August 1971 while serving time in San Quentin Prison.

The Black Panther Party, under the leadership of Newton, gained international support. This was most evident in 1970 when Newton was invited to visit China. Large crowds greeted him enthusiastically, holding copies of "Quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-tung," as well as signs supporting the Panther Party and criticizing US imperialism.

In the early 1970s, Newton's leadership of the Black Panther Party contributed to its demise. He oversaw a number of purges of Party members, the most famous of which was in 1971 when he expelled Eldridge Cleaver in what became known as the Newton-Cleaver split over the party's primary function.

Newton wanted the party to be solely focused on serving African-American communities, whereas Cleaver believed the party should be focused on developing relationships with international revolutionary movements. The schism resulted in violence between the factions and the deaths of several Black Panther members. The Black Guerrilla Family (BGF) was one of several factions that had broken away from the main party.

Then, in 1974, Newton was accused of assaulting a 17-year-old prostitute named Kathleen Smith, who later died, raising the charge to murder. Instead of facing trial, Huey fled to Cuba with his girlfriend at the time, where he remained for three years. The key witness in the trial was Crystal Gray. And three Black Panther members attempted to assassinate her before she gave her testimony.

Huey returned to the States in 1976 to stand trial but denied any involvement. The jury was deadlocked, and Newton was eventually acquitted after two mistrials.

In 1978, he enrolled in the History of Consciousness program at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and earned his Doctorate in 1980.

"War Against the Panthers: A Study of Repression in America," his dissertation, was later turned into a book.

On charges of embezzling Panther Party funds, Huey P. Newton was sentenced to 6 months in prison followed by 18 months on probation in 1982.

On August 22, 1989, Newton was assassinated by a member of the BGF, named Tyrone Robinson.

Huey was 46 years old at the time of his assassination. Robinson was convicted of Huey’s murder in 1991 and sentenced to 32 years to life in prison.

His wife, Fredricka Newton, carried on his legacy. 'Revolutionary Suicide,' his autobiography, was first published in 1973 and then republished in 1995.

Huey Newton was not perfect, but he did fight to protect the rights of the Black Community. The rights that we're still fighting for today.

Jim Kelly was a prominent African-American martial artist and actor, best known for his roles in the "blaxploitation" films of the 1970s.

Kelly was born on May 5, 1946, in Paris, Kentucky, and grew up in San Diego, California. He began studying martial arts as a teenager and quickly excelled, earning a black belt in karate. He became a popular tournament fighter in the 1960s and 1970s and won numerous championships.

Kelly's big break in film came in 1973 when he was cast in the lead role in "Enter the Dragon," a martial arts movie starring Bruce Lee. Kelly's performance as Williams, a wisecracking, afro-wearing martial artist, made him an instant icon and helped to popularize the blaxploitation genre.

In the years that followed, Kelly starred in a number of other martial arts and action movies, including "Black Belt Jones," "Three the Hard Way," and "One Down, Two to Go." He also continued to compete in martial arts tournaments and worked as a martial arts instructor.

After retiring from acting in the 1980s, Kelly remained involved in martial arts and was active in promoting the sport and encouraging young people to get involved. He passed away on June 29, 2013, at the age of 67. Jim Kelly's contributions to the martial arts and film industries continue to be celebrated today.

TMayNT Day 18: Human Version of The Turtles

Day 18 of @tmaynt Prompt: Human version of the turtles!

So these took a bit longer then i expected to, but most of that was due to trying to get the skin colors right! A lot of folks head canon the turtles as POC's, mostly in reference to RISE and MM. But I could really see that in about all of them honestly. So I hope this looks good!

(Side Note: Am whiter then sour cream guys, with the most color I have in my fam is Cherokee native on my sperm donor side. I'm using this as practice for more skin colors. Any tips and critique you might have would be nice.)

But, with that out of the way, I wanna talk a little about my thought process with these designs! I wanted to go with them being mixed race, mostly Asian with either a dash of African American or even Latino in there. And I was trying to lean more on the 2003 TMNT as my main inspiration for these guys! As well as a few headcanons younger me had when I was younger about what they would look like! So let's get into each one!

Leo: I knew that with him, I still wanted to give him a more obvious "Ninja" look to him! Especially since, they're humans in this AU and not Turtles, I don't think Splinter would be HAVING to teach his sons martial arts as they wouldn't really NEED to defend themselves. Still tho, seeing how much of a father's boy Leo is, I could see him wanting to learn from him anyway. Just out of principle. He's got dark bluish gray eyes, and keeps his long hair in a ponytail! I complete his look with a scar along his shoulder and cheek. (Perhaps a childhood accident. Rough housing too much with Raph.) I also sprinkle a few freckles on his shoulders too, cause...they cute! QvQ

Raph: Now, you know this kid is a little punk. He's defiantly the rebel of the family! I knew I wanted to give him a ripped vest from the beginning, and I added a scar on his face as well. (Probably from the same rough housing with Leo, idk.) Also, you will never convince me that this boy doesn't have a piercing, or maybe a tattoo somewhere hidden. (Splinter would kill him if he ever saw it, after all he nearly did after the piecing and died hair.) But, despite all the roughness, he's topped off with pretty green eyes, freckles, and a tiny little beauty mark right on his jaw.

Donnie: Oh my baby boy! He's defiantly the most plain looking out of his brothers. Plain purple sweater and glasses, he doesn't scream outrageous like Mikey! And why should he? He's too busy with building things in his spare time to give a shit about looks! Shown by the oil stains on his shirt, really messy hair he keeps in a low ponytail, and eyebags so big that if it weren't for his (Admittedly) pretty golden eyes, you'd think he only had dark sockets on his face. And of course, cute nerdy freckles pepper his face! (Cause I'm predictable!)

Mikey: By far the most colorful (and obvious) out of his brothers! Splinter wasn't too happy when he and Raph both decided to dye their hair and get piercings, but it sure didn't stop them! Mikey really wanted to embody the "Surfer Dude" look, and he sure pulled it off! Long Blonde hair? Check! Shark Tooth Neckless? Check! Rad Shades? Double Check! (Rarely actually worn tho, gotta make sure the Dudes & Dudettes see those beautiful bright blue eyes!) He also started carrying around a set of headphones that Donnie made personally for him!

Maybe I'll revisit these guys at a later date, cause I do really dig the designs! And I think they would make they're own neat little AU! (I may even toss my OC Sasha in there some day! Been wanting to make a few human versions of her anyway. Hell, in some versions she was a human starting out anyway. So tis very needed!)

a self-indulgent post about my spiderverse oc ft. hobie brown

first off, some context !!

1. ✧˖°SPIDER SAGE! (✿ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)⁾⁾𓍢ִ໋🌷͙֒ ✧˖° real name: eden avery, age: 20, race: african-american, ethnicity: west indian (bajan). hails from e-767, likes art, takes martial arts! her hobbies include reading, writing, making collages, and creating art! After an adventurous descent into the park with her brother, she’s bitten by a radioactive spider - courtesy of her universe’s Norman Osborn dumping toxic waste into the woods And with that, Spider Sage is born! She was inducted into the spider society around her second year of being spiderwoman ( she’s seventeen here ). Having just lost her brother to a supervillain, she has high hopes for the organization. Under the assumption she’s making the world a safer place to prevent tragedies like her brother’s from happening again. But towards the time when the movie takes place, she took on a more pessimistic view and became distant. The spider society lost the nobility she once saw. She regards Miguel’s words with a grain of salt. She doesn’t get how preserving the canon is more important than saving lives. But she relents. Until she hears Miles’s story.

2. Spider Sage moves → Webbed Rock: Fills webs with rock and or rocks and uses it like a flail, twirling it above or to the side. There’s also a variation to this on → Double Whammy: Sage twirls while swinging webbed rocks in both hands, knocking out her opponents! Typically used against two villains. Mother Earth: Places both hands to the ground and plants from below, ripping through concrete. Shield of Sanctuary: Twisted vines rise from the ground, forming a shield to protect her from onslaught. Breath of Venus:. emits a pink flowery fume from her mouth that can anesthetize her victims. Twisted Arm: Thorny vines encapsulate Sage’s arm, delivering one powerful punch! Butterfly Cocoon: Sage can wrap her opponents up in a “butterfly cocoon” consisting of flowery webs and or plants. And this isn’t really a power move but Sage grows plant life on her back too, which she used to create wings. This one I haven’t found a name for yet, but i imagine her in one of those old-fashioned video games for it, y’know the ones : A giant tulip sprouts around Sage, swallowing her up and plunges into the ground, before reappearing behind her opponent, blooming before disappearing again.

3. An ongoing strike that afflicts Earth-767 are environmental violations. Earth 767, rhymes with heaven *･ﾟ♫₊ ♪ *♬‧ I wanted to reference the number for heaven without it being too on the nose, since eden’s universe looks alot like it ( could also be a reference to paradise, or garden of eden ) it’s basically a greenery abundant bed-stuy adorned with flora and fauna. It’s a breath of fresh air. It’s wild and free. It’s ethereal, unique, and refreshing. Heavenly and euphoric. Spider Sage swings through the air with a complete loss of inhibition, as her organic web vines twist around her arm. And when she descends, she’s like an angel dropping from heaven.

a couple of fun facts! 🎀🐾🍮💕

- the spider that bit eden was not only radioactive but mutated with plant life from the forest, giving eden flower power 🌸 think of like a spider with a peony on its hump. I'd provide an example, but I really don’t wanna look up spiders :( she also has a peony on her spider suit, referencing the spider that thrust her into her newfound identity

- When Eden grows new flowers in her hair, a pop up caption appears to explain the significance of them. They symbolize how she’s feeling at the moment, for example yellow roses grow on her when she meets miles, which is an indicator of friendship! 🌼

- Spider sage’s theme sounds refreshing and peaceful with a touch or two of unconventionality! A couple of music rec’s to get a better feel would be puzzle by g.a.t instrumental or si un jour by la femme

- When she was still getting used to her powers, her flowers would sprout unexpectedly in HQ, sometimes sticking to others or objects

- Spider Sage’s nickname is ‘The Green Goddess.’

‧₊˚🖇️✩ ₊˚🎧 SAGE PUNK 🐰🌷⊹♡ ‧ ( Eden & Hobie ) HEADCANONS :

1. Eden started out in the Spider Society around the same time as Hobie ( I headcanon she was seventeen, imma just make Hobie seventeen too since they’re around the same age. ) They’re polar opposites, Eden being shy and reserved and Hobie being able to find comfort anywhere. Eden warms up to be people once she gets used to them though, and she warms up to Hobie quickly. He doesn’t give her much of a choice. When Eden first sees Hobie, she thinks he’s cool. Because they’re both new to the spider society, they go on a mission together to start off. E and Hobie start to grow more familiar with each other, sharing aspects ( such as eden’s art and hobie’s music ) of their life with one another and get sent out on more missions. They make a good team, Eden being the one to drag Hobie back in when he gets too reckless, and Hobie encouraging Eden to go all out. They complement each other perfectly. After a while Hobie invites her to one of his shows, something he regularly does with others, but it’s meant differently when inviting her. He feels a connection and wants to see where this goes. little does she know she feels the same way :)

2. More on the first one, Eden was inducted to the spider society a little before Hobie was, and although he won’t admit it, her presence persuaded him to join. It’s no secret Hobie protects the ones he cares about, eden being no exception. Ugh, I can just imagine them stepping through the portal in Hobie’s dimension, Miguel attempting to recruit him. He’s not impressed by the tall man claiming to be Spider-Man, but the shorter girl peeping behind his shoulder catches his eye. So he reluctantly agrees. Little do they know Miguel plans to make them partners, thinking Eden would soften him up ( he was wrong ) and they’re sent off on a high-stakes mission to prove their worth. Eden’s incredibly moral so she ignores the red flags at first, but Hobie steers her in a more ‘oppositional, anti-authoriatrian ‘ ideology.

3. Eden always attends Hobie’s shows, making an effort to finish her homework on time. Sometimes she doesn't even bother. Hobie always laughs with a shake of his head, " I wouldn't want you to sabotage yourself. “ “ Nah, man it's cool! I'm a smart girl, I can handle it.“ she ends up paying for it later, stuck behind her desk at 2 am, struggling to keep up her energy. Hobie gives her a call, hearing the exhaustion in her voice " But it was worth it, " she tiredly whispers, belly churning at his deep chuckle over the phone.

4. Sometimes, people will joke about how Eden and Hobie even got together, being so clearly opposite from another

5. Hobie likes to serenade Eden with the songs that he’s made. Just don’t call it that, or else he'll get fussy. I remember I talked about this before with Eden showing up to his band practices/performances and cheering him on, but what about the times where it’s just the two of them? They’re sitting on Eden’s bed and the room is bathed in a warm glow from the candle she’s lit. He revels in the way her eyes light up as he plays his guitar, fingers effortlessly drifting across the strings as he maintains eye contact. Once he finishes the tune he sets his guitar down against her bed, enthused by her light clapping.“ jus’ a likkle ting I worked up, love. wanted you to be the first to ‘ear it. “ He leans back with his arms behind his head and a satisfied smirk on his face, gazing at her expectantly. Eden usually follows with loads of pleasant compliments with observant feedback and Hobie glady listens, taking in whatever she has to offer. He ignores the queasy feeling he gets in his stomach as Eden’s mouth stretches into a grin, showing off a dimple on her right cheek. “ Well I’m honored you’d share something this special with me. You’ve got such amazing talent. “ His chest reverberates with a chuckle, closing his eyes bashfully.“ Yeah, well..I wouldn’t ask if you weren’t special. Y’know? “ He tilts his head in her direction, meeting a pair of eyes filled with soft awe.“ Yeah? “ Eden stares back, searching for the affection she knows is there. A low breath escapes him and his eyes never leave hers. “ Yeah. “

6. I have a headcanon of Eden and Hobie from that one scene of Adventure Time, y’know where PB had kept the shirt Marceline gave her? Eden’s been to practically all of his shows before, and rocks his band’s merch proudly.

7. Hobie called Eden “Ed” once as a nickname and was immediately shut down. Sometimes he brings it back up just to annoy her. “ ‘ey ed. ‘ow you doin’ this fine mornin’? “ eden turns her head to the side and back around “ you talkin’ to me? I don’t see any ed around here.“ hobie also likes to torment eden with stuff he knows disgusts her. eden making a gross face at someone’s snotty nose? He’ll bring it up randomly, taking in her disgusted reaction. bugs creep her out? he’s already chasing her around the house, silverfish in hand. “ aw c’mon love, it just wants to say hi! “ “ Hobie get the fuck away from me!! “ he’s a menace, but it’s okay cause she always gets him back for it.

8. Organized girlfriend and Hectic boyfriend. 100%.

9. Hobie likes to show up at Eden's house unannounced, and she doesn’t even question it. She could be working on her latest assignment when Hobie comes in through her window, wanting to take her along on the newest adventure he’s dedicated himself to that day. And who is she to deny him? It’s always a blast hanging out with Hobie. Eden often finds herself reminiscing about the escapades they’ve gone on together. If he’s not taking her out to a party, a protest, or a music showcase run by some friends then he’s at her house playing with his guitar or listening to her ramble about anything going on with her life. Speaking of protests, Eden makes sure to pack backpacks with all the food, water and snacks they need - including a first aid kit in case of injury. Hobie takes it lovingly, kissing his thoughtful girlfriend for the trouble she went through.

10. Hobie and Eden are always willing to help each other, especially when it comes to their hair :) <333 this one is extra important !!

11. Eden loves to hug Hobie from behind while he’s playing his guitar. She smiles into his shoulder as she feels a light chuckle throughout his body.“ You’re awfully ‘andsy today. “ He tilts his head back, looking at her from behind. “ you need somethin’? “ Eden hummed absentmindedly, toying with the straps of his tank top. “ No.. just felt like touching you. “

12. Hobie is engrossed in a conversation with Pav. They’ve got a couple of hours until their next mission, so they’re chilling out in the cafeteria until then. That’s when Eden walks by, right on time for her morning cup of tea. A flowery scent wafts gently from her body that grabs his attention and he immediately turns his face in her direction. Quickly dismissing himself to Pav, he makes his way over to Eden, who’s dipping the tea bag into her cup. “Ey’ there. You’re smellin’ nice today.“ Eden turns to see Hobie who’s slipped next to her undetected. She grins at the compliment, eyes glowing. “ Thanks! I’m surprised you noticed.“ Hobie’s eyes widened at the unintentional jab.“ Ah, so you that’s the kinda guy you take me for, eh? “ Eden snorts and waves her hand dismissively. “ That’s not what I meant, and you know it. “ “ Suuure, love. Wha’ever you say. “

13. Hobie is not the type to get Eden flowers knowing that it stems from patriarchy. He follows no social quo. Plus Eden can grow flowers and plant life from her body so like why would she need more?

14. Eden turns her head in the direction of the sound, only to be pressed deeply into a red and blue shirt. “ Agh! Hobie! “ She giggles as Hobie hugs her and enveloped her in strong arms, picking her up from the ground. He swings her around earning a squeal, before setting her back down on the floor. “What’s goin’ on mate? How’s my fav gyal doin’? “ Hobie then slings an arm around her shoulder, his face dangerously close to hers. Eden ignores the heat flaring up in her cheeks, choosing to focus her energy into teasing him. “ You’re chipper this morning! What you just got back from a mission or something? “ “ What’d you mean by that, eh? Man can’ jus be chuffed to see you? “ He removes his arm from her side and Eden misses the weight against her shoulders. “ You di’n’t answer my question, love. How's your day been’? “ He folds his arms against his chest, leaning back coolly on the table behind him. Eden smiled, lifting her arms into a shrug. “ Eh. Can’t complain. Just got here actually. What about you? “ As the two continue to chat, Pav, Miles and Gwen can be seen watching them in the background. “ Can they.. not see how they act ? “ Pav questions, mirth leaking into this tone. Gwen gives a shake of her head and Miles laughs, shaking his shoulders.

15. hobie who notices when eden’s upset, offering her some candy he’s found cause he knows it’s her favorite. " strawberries your favorite, innit? " " yeah. " eden says through sniffles, wiping the tears from her eyes. " cheer up, supergirl. " hobie trails a tear running down her cheek and wipes it off. He rubs her back lovingly, staying with her while she rides her emotions out. Resting a head on his shoulder, she shakes out a laugh. “ Wha’s funny? “ “ Nothin’..you’re just..so good to me. “

16. Eden and Hobie like to rock each other’s clothes. Hobie’s wearing combat boots and ripped skinny jeans while donning a pink strawberry sweater stolen from Eden's closet. Eden’s sporting cutesy overall shorts, flower placed symmetrically in her hair and one of Hobie’s rock band t-shirts. They like to coordinate outfits. Hobie picks out punk elements that could work on her. Eden also tends to gift him necklaces and bracelets, and he enjoys putting them on with his outfits ( even if they don’t match. ) oh yeah, and he’d definitely steal eden’s skirts when she’s not looking. I can see him walking into her kitchen, strutting his long legs in her plaid red skirt just eating that shit up. And he’d be so nonchalant about it too, like sitting on her couch chowing down on a bowl of oats while his feet are kicked up on the coffee table. Eden’s used to it by now, so she doesn’t bat an eye, but she does hate it when he puts his feet on the table.

17. Eden actually believed him when he said he was briefly a runway model. How could he not be with his beautiful hair, eyes, lips and jawline? He doesn’t clarify for her, finding amusement in it, but eventually his stance on modeling becomes apparent and she realizes her misinterpretation.

18. Hobie would either piss Eden tf off when she’s drawing or admire it, there is no in between. I’m talkin’ resting his chin on her shoulder as she sketches while pointing out something he likes goin, “ Tha’ looks real nice. Maybe add some more lines ‘ere. “ He’s super sweet when he’s trying to be helpful. It’s that or putting himself in the way while she’s trying to finish a drawing/painting. “ Uh…Hobie, can you move to the side a bit? I’m trying to finish up here. “ “ Hmm…I dunno doll, I’m pretty comfortable where I am.”

Victorian Wayne Manor

It's an idea that's popped up from time to time (IE: Gotham by Gaslight), but few have actually looked into what a Victorian Mansion requires. Without a large staff, a household couldn't function well, even with all the latest amenities.

So, let's get a look at the Wayne Household as transplanted to Victorian England.

And how Bruce Wayne would buck conventions and defy social norms of the times even among his household and staff.

Let's set some ground rules for this thing. One, we're going to use the FULL Batman family, and we are going to draw from period piece in and around that time frame (IE: Gotham by Gaslight, The Doom That Came to Gotham and Batman/Tarzan: Claws of the Cat-Woman) Batman stories and his full expanded cast to fill in the various staff positions in a Victorian household.

The Wayne Manor will be in the latter half of the Victorian era, since Batman and technology are so intertwined.

First, there is the Family.

Bruce Wayne - Head of the Household. Heir to the Wayne Industrial Fortune, champion of the people, reformer, and technically Prince Consort.

Princess Khefretari of Memnon/"Selina Wayne" - Wife of Bruce Wayne, former Priestess of Sehkmet in the hidden city of Memnon in central Africa.

The Kids:

Bruce has 5 adopted children and 2 children from a previous marriage.

Dick Grayson, a Romani former Circus Acrobatic, adopted by Bruce when the boy lost his parents at age 10.

Sanjay Tawd, a Hindi street child who aided Wayne on his world travels 3 years after picking up Dick.

Timothy Drake, an American lad of English descent, adopted into the family 2 years after Sanjay.

Kai Li Cain/Wayne, an Half-Chinese martial arts prodigy who Bruce adopted 2 years after Timothy (though she is roughly his age).

Duke Thomas, an African American kid with keen eyes and a bright mind. Just slightly younger than Kai Li.

Ibn al Xu'ffasch/Damian Wayne and Athenasia al Ghul/Janan Wayne, fraternal twin children from Bruce's prior marriage to Talia al Ghul. They are the second youngest of the family.

With the current marriage, Bruce and Selina have one child -- Helena Wayne, who is the youngest of the family, 13 years younger than even Damian and Janan.

Now for the big one -- the Servants.

First there are the "Upper 10" (that's what they are called despite how many there are).

Butler - Alfred Pennyworth (was there any doubt). Aside from being Bruce's valet, Alfred is in charge of all the men of the house staff. He is also in charge of the house Alcohol.

Housekeeper - Leslie Thompkins. She is in charge of most of the runnings of the house and the female servants (save the lady's maid and governess). Formerly the nurse of the house (and still aids in those duties on occasion due to a joy of it -- and how often it is needed).

Lady's Maid - Given there are several ladies of the house, each one has their own Ladies Maid to assist them.

Eiko Hasigawa is the lady's maid of Selina Wayne.

Stephanie Brown is the lady's maid of Kai Li Wayne

Nika Glovasmerti* ("Flatline") is the lady's maid of Jana Wayne

Valet - Like the ladies maid, but for the gentlemen of the house. Alfred attends to Mr. Wayne himself, naturally.

Jefferson Pierce is the Valet of Dick.

Rex Mason acts as Sanjay's valet.

Bernard Dowd acts as Tim's valet.

Daxton Chilton* acts as Duke's valet.

Collin Wilkes acts as Damian's Valet.

Governess - Helena Bertinelli. The Governess is the tutor of the children in the family (Tim, Kai Li, Damian, Janan, and eventually Helena). Ms. Bertinelli is the namesake of the youngest Wayne after saving her. Usually, in England, it was custom to have a French maid, but the Waynes like to buck traditions by having an Italian one.

Nurse - Alice* Chilton. This is a rare case where we have an actual Housekeeper for the Wayne home, but she has a nurse background (IIRC, she hasn't really appeared since the Crisis), so she can fill in this roll. In the Victorian Manor, she'd be watching baby Helena most of the time.

Coach - Jean Paul Valley. He acts as the Driver of the Wayne family on outings.

Groom - Harold Alnut. Grooms keep the horses happy and healthy. Since Harold was originally a mechanic, it matches well.

Stableboy - Dre Cipriani. A minor character from "We Are Robin."

Gamekeepers/Gardeners - Grace Choi and Anissa Pierce. The grounds need keeping, and Damian has a LOT of pets (The dogs Ace & Titus, Dick's purbered three-legged mutt Hailey, Alfred the Cat, "Bat-Cow", Jerry the Turkey, a monkey named Monkey, anda golden crowned flying fox named "Goliath". )

Most of the grounds are a preserve for former Hailey Circus animals. This includes at least 2 elephants (Zitka and Elinore), a small pride of lions (2 males Gunther and Kimba are named) and at least one more monkey (Jimmie).

Seliha also has her cats. Aside from standard cats (Diablo, Slinky, Kitty, Isis, Julio, Otto, Hecate), she also owns two melanistic panthers, Lover and Diablo.

Cook - Tatsu Yamashiro. There's a joke about chef's knives here, but I think we're all making it.

Kitchen Maids - There's a lot of people in this house so the Cook is going to need a few helping hands. These are:

Housemaid - The standard maids of the house. However, because of the ratio of men to women in the household, many take up traditional 'mens' work, with others being stepped up to Lady's Maid depending on who is visiting.

Parlourmaid - Emily Briggs. Parlourmaids are as Housemaids, but they have the added responsibility of answering the door.

Talia Al Ghul (along with her own Servants -- Ubu, Prudence Wood, and "Angela Breaker") does stop by on occasion, with Harper Rowe stepping up to assist.

'Sandra Wu', Kai Li's biological mother is usually attended by Harper and Sophia when she comes to visit.

That's a household of 9 Family members (with 2 guests), with 29/32 staff members on hand.

Okay so I have been randomly flung back into my tmnt obsession phase I had as a child thanks to the new rottmnt movie on Netflix.

As you know, I love making things human au.

So.

Some personal headcanons!

(From a modern, adopted au, TMNT 2012 VERSE)

Leo

- full japanese

-17

-the only biological son of Hamato Yoshi

-he has naturally black hair, but dyed it so that when the light hits it, it shines blue. Like a raven, or crow.

-a warm complextion, slightly tanned from his father. His mother was ghostly pale (before she was actually a ghost LOL)

-deep black eyes that light up when talking about something he likes.

-he contests with Raph about his height, and always gloats that he is an inch or two taller. (He has dad check, for fairness).

-a lanky but slightly muscular body due to his training from early childhood

-he can speak fluent Japanese and English, and is working on Cantonese and mandarin.

-absolutely loves languages, the same as Mikey.

-was introduced to Karai through his father, and instantly developed a thing for her. Couldn't stop looking at her, imagined a life together, etc.

-this immediately ended when splinter dropped the sister bomb.

-poor boy avoided her for a while after that.

-is the most formal and disciplined with his training. Follows his father to a T. Like a mini splinter.

-absolutely excels at meditation

-the two of them lived in Japan until 6 years after his birth.

-After the move, splinter couldn't be bothered to cook him dinner as they had not properly settled in, so he took him to a resteraunt.

-he was told not to be rude as he loudly asked in English why people were not using chopsticks. People stopped and smiled, but Splinter was still mortified.

-didn't actually want to foster his brothers at first. In fact, he argued loudly against it, not wanting to share his father. Of course Yoshi was stern with him, but had an open conversation about how although Leo had an opinion, he also had the decision to open up his home, and grant others the family and same opportunity he had always had.

-he still was unsure, even after this. But once Raph arrived, a singular black trash bag filled with his belongings, face hard and knuckles stained with blood, he understood.

Raph

-the first of the brothers to be adopted.

-he was 10 when he joined the Hamato family, though it wasn't made official until he was eleven.

-currently is 17, three months younger than Leo.

-He is African American

-he was born in Chigaco but moved to the bronx mid childhood, and has the heaviest accent in the family

-when raph arrived he'd shaved his head completely, nearly down to the scalp

-since growing in the Hamato household, he let himself enjoy things specific to him, and grew his hair out

-right now he's rocking the sickest locs he's ever done

-he dyed the ends of his hair red in the bathroom sink

-went in to shower and came out with a whole new hair style

-splinter just eyed the front door and wondered if it was too late to go back to Japan and leave them there. Why must his boys love hair dye so much?

-nearly had his suitcase accidently packed and by the door when he found the stained bathroom. Raph was scrubbing that for HOURS.

-although he started training Martial arts through splinter at 11 to help his anger management, he has a very stocky but tall build do to his OLD anger management. Boxing. Dude can throw a punch.

-vibrant natural green eyes, which he gets from his father

-permanent forroughed brow lines LOL

-can only speak one language

-his favourite food is beef bunny chow. His mother's best dish.

-his father split and left them when he was a child, and from then on it was his mother, him, and his older brother

-his brother was much older, and unfortunately had a rocky outlook on life.

-he was placed in a juvenile detention centre when raph was 6, and he was 17. His mother, who was getting older at that point, couldn't handle the stress, and her health started to decline.

-Raph did everything he could to help his mother. He cleaned the house, did the chores, shopping, and when she became bedridden, did everything she asked. The two were inseparable.

-his brother was released, but then committed armed robbery, and was placed in jail. Real jail this time.

-then, when he was nine, his mother passed away peacefully in her sleep, him holding her hand the whole time, sleeping soundly beside her. His heart ripped in two when he woke up, and she didnt.

-due to his brother being in prison, he was put in a foster home. He got into many fights there, and became a rough, competitive boy. Iife wasn't fair to Raph, so why should he be fair to other people? He sent many boys to their forever homes with stitches in their heads.

-the foster matron had enough of other boys getting hurt, so she placed him in emergency care with someone who had eagerly put himself on the list over a year ago.

-Raph tried to fight Leo the second day at his new home. And was put in his place.

-but it's fine. If anything, he'd found a new challenge. It was worth the stay.

-seven years later, Leo and Raph are thick as theives, though the younger siblings and their dad don't tend to see it.

-he still has his rough attitude, but it's been sanded down to brotherly concern, annoyance, and love by now.

-hes the most over protective of the bunch, and isn't afraid to show it.

-speaking of brothers, his biological one is getting out soon...

Donnie

-the 2nd addition to their little home!

-hes 16, and the tallest of the bunch, much to the elders dismay.

-dude this dude is fucking LONG

-Latino (Italian)

-has a big gap in his teeth from not being able to afford braces as a child

-unconsciously blows air through it and whistles through it while he's deep in his work, and blocks it with his tongue to stop the noise, then does it again.

-cute brown eyes, but lowkey squinty because he grew up with no glasses. (Spoiler, he was supposed to have glasses). Now walking around without his NICE, SHINY, NEW, PRESCRIBED GLASSES is a habit that he can't shake off.

-grew his hair out because he got tired of cutting it. It's a gorgeous caramel colour, but he's thinking of dying it darker to get less compliments on it.

-full of anxiety, but refuses to take his medication because it makes him sleepy and why would you sleep when you could do EQUATIONS.

-hes actually been in the foster life the longest. He'd lived in the same foster home from the ages of two till twelve.

-it kinda broke him down. Sitting in his little corner all day everyday, watching all the old kids drifting out, new kids coming in, and repeating the cycle. (Why didn't anyone ever choose him?)

-is naturally super smart, and got so bored with life to the point where he found he couldn't have conversations with someone unless he was solving invisible questions in the back of his mind

-people stopped talking to him after he let that slip.

-he doesn't know what happened to his parents, but doesn't care enough to find out.

-he was running from bullies at school when he ran into Raph

-like literally. Ran into him. Wacked his nose so hard it started bleeding.

-(this was before his growth spurt, so his nose buried itself in Raphs shoulder)

-Raph scared the kids off, and demanded to know which one of them broke his nose.

-was not happy to hear the "you" part of that.

-so he took him home to Splinter to get cleaned up and taken safely home, and they just got talking until the subject came up on homelife and well, Raph had already gotten attached!

-the rest is history

-he can only speak one language, English. He'll only ever sit down and study something if there's some sort of Math or science involved.

-to his knowledge, he is an only child. Well, biologically anyway.

-has a slight lisp due to the placement of his gap.

-HUGE MASSIVE MONSTER CRUSH ON APRIL

-will trip over his tongue and forget English in her presence.

-he doesn't know this, but April kinda likes him back? It's only the beggining of her feelings, though, so she'll see where it takes her.

-Oh, and, she's not oblivious. She knows he has a massive crush on her.

-will eat anything junk food, and anything that will go in the microwave

-sometimes he's so into something they don't see him at dinner

-really REALLY wants a pet cat

Mikey

-oh my god where to start.

-hes 14, and is the last adopted

-He was adopted when he was twelve, a little over two years ago.

-now, nobody knows what his actual heritage is, and Splinter promised him that when he turns 16 they'll take him to wherever they needed to to find out.

-however...the baby of the family was born in Hawaii!

-this is where the confusion comes in, because he definitely isn't a native. More of a local?

-he has off-white skin (that actually can turn pretty tan, after the sunburn), baby blue eyes, and is absolutely smothered in freckles.

-all over his face, shoulders, arms, and chest. They're everywhere.

-golden blonde wavy hair that goes in every direction but DOWN.

-was accused of dying it because his roots are a dusty brown. It wasn't, and he nearly bought bleach to prove it.

-is the shortest, to no surprise.

-very skinny too, despite years of dancing and running around. He definitely has some muscles, and strength, but it isn't defined, to his disappointment.

-always covered in some type of scrape, cut, or bruise. He never knows where they're from.

-will blush from his shoulders to the roots of his hair when truly embarrassed. The others make it a game, who can get mikey the most red? (without saying anything to make him insecure).

-ADHDADHDADHDADHD

-he can speak fluent English and Hawaiian, which was the language he spent most of his life speaking.

-despite being the happiest and friendliest of the bunch, he keeps his past close to his chest. He doesn't speak much of his family, and nobody wants to ask.

-but I'm the author, and I'll tell you

-Mikey was born the second sibling, in a pack of EIGHT.

-his elder sibling was three years older, and to Mikey's knowledge he is still on the island.

-his parents were in an unhappy marriage, and spent their entire time in Mikeys childhood avoiding home just in case the other was there. (It was better that way. No fights and having to hide the younger ones under the bed). But this just meant that they were neglected, left at home with no parents for days.

-Mikeys siblings were all actually half siblings, including the elder. Not a single one was fully related (apart from the young twins).

-he was four when his mother slept around again, five when the first child was born. A girl. She didn't stop after that. His dad stopped coming home completely after a while. Years later, laying with his elder step brother, his brother confessed he'd seen him not two days after the first child was born, walking around with a pregnant woman. He looked happy. Mikey stopped believing he would come back after that.

-when Mikey was six, he truly set his childhood aside. His mother kept popping out babies then abandoning them to do things that would conceive another, so he and his brother (Dami) stepped up to raise them all.

-by the time Mikey was ten, he was practically the parent of six young children.

-while it hurt him terribly to be taken away from them by CPS, deep down he knows that they probably wouldn't remember him, save for Dami, and the immediate two youngest.

-they were all placed in different homes, and as the first one off the island, he doesn't know where they are, at all. They could still all be together on the island for all he knew. He still secretly cries about this all the time.

-growing up in Hawaii, he spent his life deeply submerged in the culture. He and the children of the family were welcomed with open arms in the community, and were deeply loved by all that lived there.

-he found a love for traditional dancing, and started practising when he was seven. He picked up on it fast, and within a year he was fluid and moved with grace, putting on shows for many who loved it.

-although he part of the community, he knew from a young age that he wasn't native to the land, and as such did research and asked elders and friends before he tried to learn or join something. Nobody ever had a problem with him though, as he was the (though wild and untamed) most polite and respectful boy, despite his upbringing, and he genuinely wanted to learn and be one with the community.

-he left the island with a head crammed full of knowledge, traditions, and culture. He knew the names of wild flowers, Gods, legends and Tales.

-he got to New York and was appalled. How could these people do this to their land? Their home? Rubbish on the street, randomly attacking people, bombs, guns, and knife violence? He didn't feel safe.

-his part of the island spoke both Hawaiian and English, although his English wasn't the best, and he had no trouble being placed in the placement centre. At first he acted out, pulled pranks, disrupted lessons.

-but then his social worker called Yoshi in, and now he finally feels safe.

Random other bits:

-Mikey doesn't speak Hawaiian around the family. They knew he grew up in Hawaii, but that's it. They don't know about the siblings, his language, his dancing, his art, nothing. He's surprisingly private.

-Raph let one brother each do a SINGULAR loc in his hair, which he then tied with either a blue, orange, or purple hairband. Donnies is the worst, all tangled and even breaking some of the hair off (Raph winced the entire way through), Leo's is second best, though he's used to working with his own PIN straight hair, and mikeys is surprisingly the best. Still wonky, but the best.

-Mikey let's himself goof off so much because he never had a childhood. As guilty as he feels about it, he's glad he's no longer baring such a huge responsibility.

-donnie skipped a grade and is in Leo and Raphs science, math, and geography classes.

-Leo falls asleep in geometry. Like. All the time. He's embarrassed everytime. ITS JUST SO BORING.

-karai lives with her roomate/on and off girlfriend shinigami. (She's 19).

-Karai lived with her uncle saki (who she thought was her father) until the police showed up.

-turns out she was kidnapped and there was a whole case about it years ago. Who knew?

-splinter had decided not to adopt anymore children after Mikey, and finding his daughter, despite the temptation. Five children is enough.

-(plus Casey and April, who practically live at the Hamato home).

-Raph will force mikey to jump on his back sometimes, though the younger doesn't really need to be forced.

Backstory: Unlike the other three Ghostbusters, Winston Zeddemore was not originally a university professor. Winston applied for a job opening late in 1984 after business started to pick up. Janine Melnitz interviewed Winston from her desk. She asked him if he believed in UFOs, astral projections, mental telepathy, ESP, clairvoyance, spirit photography, telekinetic movement, full trans-mediums, the Loch Ness monster and the theory of Atlantis. Winston replied if there was a steady paycheque in it, he would believe anything she said. The interview was interrupted when the phone rang and by the return of the weary Peter Venkman and Raymond Stantz. Winston turned his head and observed them while Janine spoke to the caller. Raymond was not pleased to see two free repeaters on the evening worksheet. He walked to the basement Janine brought Winston to their attention. She introduced him. Winston stood. Raymond stopped and turned around. Raymond took one look at him and hired him on the spot.

Tiny H0ly-Tea ramble

This is a rant/ramble post about a user named H0ly-tea's stupid post so if you dont want to read it you can go ahead and ignore this. Its fine if you do want see it.

Im sure im not the only TF2 tumbler user whos seen the post about 'i hate when ppl make the mers trans because its the 60-70s'

It would take you two seconds plus google to see that Transgender/transsexuality has existed for fucking years.

Transgender people existed years and years before the period where tf2 exists. Years that show many people who were transgender way before the term was made. The best example i can give is a transgender woman by the name of Mary Jones who was a transgender (male to female) African American sex worker who lived in the 1870s and the first recorded transgender reassignment surgery was in 1906 on a man named Karl.M Baer who was intersex but was dubbed female at birth at the age of 21 he came out as a male and underwent surgery at the age of 23. The term transsexual was created in 1907.

This whole game takes place in a world where Australians are buff super-intelligent beings. -New Zealand is an underwater society. -The first group of mercenaries for the Gravel Wars consisted of both real historical figures like Abraham Licon as Pyro and American folk tales like John Henry as the Heavy -A martial called Australiem exists that makes people super humans. -Yetis,spycrabs,Pyro sharks, the weird tube snakes, pootis birds, and more weird animals exist in tf2 -An older than time itself Wizard exists and has beef with an American who can survive blasting his feet with a rocket. -Krampus and Santa exist. -Medic basically invented Mpreg, surgically removed souls, and can fucking do all these crazy medical experiments!

-Heavy Weapons guy can fist-fight bears twice his size.

-Scout can double jump and survive drinking liquified radiation.

-Pyro exists and he is probably not a human being.

-Demoman's eye socket is haunted.

-Aliens exist.

-SAXTON HALE EXISTS

-AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON WILLIAM CHADSPEAR WHO INVENTED ROCKET JUMPING AND HOW SATION HALE BOUGHT THE ENTIERTY OF ENGLAND.

But apparently trans people is to unrealistic and 'Makes your unconvertible' according to the original user Like at this point just Amit you're transphobic and don't make shitty posts like this becuse your just going to get proven wrong with stupid saying like "trans people did not exist in the 60-70s"!

Kicking and knocking:

"Kicking and Knocking," also known as "Knockin," "Knock boxing," or "yuna onse," is a little-known but historically significant African-American martial art. Its roots trace back to the era of slavery in the United States, particularly in South Carolina and Virginia.

"Knocking" in this context refers to a specific technique resembling a charging headbutt, reminiscent of African cattle, producing a distinct "knock" sound upon impact. Although related, knocking and kicking were often distinct practices within the art form.

Music and acrobatic movements were integral to "Kicking and Knocking," making it inseparable from dance. It was traditionally performed within black communities to the rhythm of drums, clapping, or reed pipes known as "quills." This art form likely has connections to other African martial arts like Engolo, and shares similarities with capoeira and danmyé ladjia.

"The Sabbath is not regarded by a large number of the slaves as a day of rest. They have no schools to go to; no moral nor religious instruction at all in many localities where there are hundreds of slaves. Hence they resort to some kind of amusement. Those who make no profession of religion, resort to the woods in large numbers on that day to gamble, fight, get drunk, and break the Sabbath. This is often encouraged by slaveholders. Ayyye first drawing of the new year!!🎉

A while ago I had a dream about a magical girl anime right? But the twist was that instead of the girls having cute powers and what not, they just started throwing hands and beating the shit out of the vilains ala Amanda Nunes style lmaooo. And naturally I had to draw a OC inspired by it!

In my head, I refer to the fake show as "Mahou MMA"! I actually don't have a name for this oc yet, but I do know that she's the heroine (Half Japanese/Half African-American) whose "theme/fighting style" is mixed martial arts. Despite being the "leader" of the group, she's a textbook "girl loser" who wants nothing to do with this whole magical fighting business lol. However, what she lacks in courage and self-esteem, she makes up with immense strength, both inner and physical.

I'll get around to drawing the rest of her team when I have the motivation lol. However, if anyone is interested I would love to see you guy's take on the concept!
