Ngl I would too survive burning on the shore of Mustafar just like Anakin did because imagine your brother/father figure tells you he loved you after he cuts off your hands and legs and lefts you to burn.
Man, I would be mad asf too. Like king couldn't have you told me that earlier, like we could have avoided all this...

How episode 6 should have ended
I doubt it would redeem him or anything but I wanted Obi-Wan to gently touch Vader’s mask at least once

It’s been a year since I’ve deep dived into Obikin so in honor of that obsession I’ve created a side blog where I’ll be releasing sneak peaks and fanfics I’m writing about starwar, answer any asks you have, and even do some prompts if I really vibe with them!

Between Wrath and Mercy
Sith!Ankain Skywalker x Rebel!reader (gender-neutral)
Summary: Finding yourself in a fight with Darth Maul, you quickly realize that you're way out of your depth. Unfortunately, no one's coming to save you. Aha, unless?
Word Count: 2.0k
A note from the author: Remember how I was like, "I'm having a lot of trouble writing the words aren't coming like they used to"? I think this helped to unclog a bit of the writer's block I've had. Maybe I just need to write for a different fandom for a bit. This takes place in my Rebel!reader fic-verse (gender-neutral reader!), but before What You Stand to Lose. As always, likes, comments, and reblogs make my world go round (especially the latter two), and I hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
How do I keep ending up in situations like this? you wonder as you dodge yet another Sith Lord’s lightsaber strike and immediately counter it with your own.
That’s a stupid question, because you know how. You decided to join the Rebel Alliance, to fight for a noble cause, and now your life is pretty consistently put in mortal danger. Still, when a mission to try and convince the head of Crimson Dawn that you were all fighting for the same goal was proposed, you were the first to volunteer. Maybe it’s a desperation to prove yourself as useful that made you do it, or maybe you need to remind yourself that you’re working for something good. Regardless, you had been stupid and self-assured, enough so that General Kessyk had given you a small team to command and sent you on your way to Corellia.
Said small team is now incapacitated, rendered useless almost the moment you had ambushed the Crimson Dawn leader who had turned out to be none other than Darth Maul—a surprise to you all, since Dryden Voss is the public face of the syndicate. This revelation completely turned your game plan on its head, as you’re now left to face his wrath alone.
And he has a lot of wrath.
“Look, if you would just listen for a moment,” you yell at him over the sound of electricity humming, “I think you would see that we all want the same thing!”
“And what thing is that?” Darth Maul snarls, raising his blade above his head and attempting to crash it down on top of you.
You meet it with your own, gritting your teeth under the strain as you attempt to hold him back. “The end of the Galactic Empire!”
He bears down harder in response, and your arms begin to shake. Knowing when to give up some yield is half the success in battle, so you adjust your strategy and drop to your knees, doing a quick roll to get some space in between you. He turns to face you once more, his yellow eyes so filled with hatred that it makes a frightened whimper get stuck in your throat.
“Please, we only came to talk. We can be allies!” you plead.
“What happens after the Empire is defeated? We part on good terms and go our separate ways?” Maul shakes his head, twirling his saber and stalking towards you. “No. At the end of the day, the Sith will always be an enemy. I will always be an enemy.”
“I’m sure that—woah!” He renews his attacks with vigor, clearly done talking. Unfortunately for him, you’re not done. “I’m sure that the Rebel Alliance would be happy to negotiate some sort of treaty.”
“I have had enough of arrogant little Force users thinking that they can change the galaxy with ‘the power of goodness,’” he mocks. “You are not the first to approach me with your misguided ideals.”
Maul kicks the center of your chest and sends you falling to the ground, a position you never want to find yourself in when fighting for your life. Attempting to scramble backward is made extra difficult with the lightsaber in your hand, and it’s only delaying the inevitable as Maul follows you slowly, a predator stalking his prey. With a firm smack, your saber goes flying out of your reach.
He holds his lightsaber to your chest and smirks down at you as it burns a hole through the fabric of your shirt. “But you will be the last.”
You raise both hands up in a last-ditch plea, though you know it’s for naught. This is it. You’ve lost. You’ll become just another name on the long list of lives lost as sacrifices for the fight for a better tomorrow.
Though you’d like to say that a sense of peace comes over you as you stare your impending death in the eyes, that’s not the case. You’re scared out of your mind, actually, and the only thing comforting you is the fact that it’ll be a quick death. With that in mind, you close your eyes and await the inevitable.
But the inevitable never comes. Where you were expecting pain and darkness, there’s simply darkness from screwing your eyes shut. After a couple of long moments, you hesitantly open your eyes. Darth Maul no longer looms over you. Instead, he’s a few feet away, engaged in battle with someone else.
“It was foolish of me to believe that Kenobi could actually finish the job and successfully kill somebody for once,” he spits, twirling his saber in his hand as another red saber clashes with his.
“You said it, not me!”
Belatedly, you realize that you know that cocky, annoying voice. Sure enough, Darth Vader is now Darth Maul’s opponent, and he’s faring much better than you had. His helmet is off, allowing you to see the arrogant grin he’s sporting, and his blond curls fly around his face as he swings his lightsaber through the air.
“Vader?” you call, still feeling like your eyes are deceiving you.
He looks over at you, his grin somehow getting bigger. “C’mon, get up and help me out!”
You stumble to your feet and call your lightsaber back to your hand using the Force, but remain back. Vader doesn’t need your help, because he’s very clearly winning. You would only be a hindrance if you were to join, so instead, you watch.
Even if you didn’t know that the two Sith lords had been trained for a very long time, their fighting styles would make it obvious. The way that they move, so fluidly and deadly, is an art form. It almost looks like a dance, if a dance could end in somebody’s death.
“Darth Sidious won’t be pleased when he finds out you’re helping out the Rebel Alliance,” Darth Maul taunts, bending over backward to avoid a swing.
Darth Vader curses at the near-miss. “Oh, but I’m not.”
“Then what do you call this?”
He looks over his shoulder and winks at you. “Helping the one particular Rebel that I have a vested interest in.”
“Pathetic!” Darth Maul spits.
Vader’s lightsaber makes contact with the palm of Maul’s hand, and he yells out in pain. He catches his saber with his other hand before it can fall to the ground, but he’s unable to grip it with both hands now. Though he could fight one-handed, against somebody as talented as Darth Vader, he wouldn’t be very successful. The light from his saber disappears as he extinguishes it, giving one curt nod before he backs off.
“This is not the end,” he promises.
“No, I don’t believe it is.”
Though Vader could very easily finish him, there are rules to a battle. When one willingly concedes, the fight is over, no matter how much the other wishes that it wasn’t. You and Vader both watch as Maul makes it to his ship and escapes, flying high above your heads and away from Corellia.
Vader turns his attention to you, wrapping his large hands around your upper arms and looking you up and down. “Are you alright?”
“Shouldn’t I be asking you that?”
“You were the one about to die.”
“I had it under control,” you claim, even though you very much did not have it under control. “And I didn’t need you to save me.”
“Oh, you didn’t? That’s not what it looked like to me.”
His fingers move to the open hole in your shirt left by Maul’s lightsaber above your heart. The skin there is shiny from a light burn—it’s nothing that will hinder you in the long run, but it does sting a bit, especially when Vader lightly touches this wound. You hiss through your teeth, but he doesn’t move.
“Your heart is beating so fast,” he notes, his voice soft from concentration.
Your cheeks burn at this because you know there are a couple of reasons for your racing heart, and only one of them is from the exertion of battle. Wiggling your hands up, you get enough of a space that you can lightly push yourself away from Vader.
“What are you—how did you know that I would be here?” you demand, having been under the assumption that everybody had done very well in making sure this was a top-secret mission.
“We received some intel that the Rebel Alliance would be making a rather stupid attempt at reaching out to Crimson Dawn. I was going to just let Maul have at it, but then I thought, ‘What are the odds that my Rebel would be involved in this?’”
“I am not your Rebel.” The way that he looks at you, like you mean something to him, makes your heart clench in a way that you don’t want to consider right now. Onto the next subject, then. “Why did you help me in the first place? You could have let him kill me. You should have let him kill me, actually. Would have saved you a lot of trouble.”
“I don’t want you dead.”
You roll your eyes. “Of course, you just want me to join you and go against every one of my morals.”
“I still have morals, Rebel. If you were willing to listen, to be open-minded, I think you’d find that the Dark Side is not evil. Where the Light Side wanted their Jedi to shirk all of their emotions and attachments, the Dark Side encourages those emotions. Anger, sadness, passion…love. Sith believe in a world where we’re all free to feel what we want, to allow that which scares us to be out in the open so that we may overpower it. You can’t tell me that this sounds evil.”
You remain silent, because you don’t know what to think. With how Vader puts it, the Dark Side doesn’t sound all evil. Actions speak louder than words, however, and you’ve seen the terror and devastation that the Empire and the Dark Side have unleashed on the galaxy. You’re not willing to dwell on it right now (or ever, really; just thinking about the possibility of Vader’s words having some validity makes you feel like you’re betraying the Rebel Alliance), so you force it to the back of your mind and refuse to think about it any longer.
“Well, I think my work here is done,” Vader declares with a sigh, clipping his saber back onto his belt.
You look at him in confusion. “Wait, you’re not…going to force me to be your apprentice? I mean, now’s kind of the perfect time.” You don’t want him to do so, but you were sure you knew what his end goal was, since he’s made it clear every other time you’ve encountered him.
“It is,” he agrees. “But I’ve decided that it does no good to have you join me against your will. When the time comes, you’ll give yourself to me—to the Dark Side willingly.”
He sounds so sure of this, like it’s a foregone conclusion. You’re about to argue, to insist once more that you’ll never join him, when you hear groaning behind you.
“Looks like your crew is starting to come to,” Vader notes. “I’ll see you soon.”
You don’t doubt that, but you won’t let him know that. “I sure hope not.”
He laughs, already walking to his own ship. “Make sure to get that burn checked out so that it doesn’t get infected!” he yells to you.
The groaning gets louder before you can tell him to not tell you what to do, and somebody calls your name sluggishly. Your pilot is trying to roll over onto his hands and knees, and the others aren’t far behind him in waking up. You get ready to help, as all good Rebels do—because that’s what you are, someone good and helpful and nothing at all like the Sith Lord that increasingly occupies your thoughts as of late.
You’re not like him, you tell yourself, and you’ll do everything in your power to ensure that you won’t ever be like him.

It's interesting to see that in TOTJ, they explicitly had Dooku tell Qui-Gon that he was a wiser man than Dooku was, paralleling obviously Qui-Gon saying something similar to Obi-Wan, and Obi-Wan saying something similar to Anakin. And while I don't necessarily need proof to know that Yoda might've said something similar to Dooku, I would believe without a shred of doubt that Anakin never said anything like this to Ahsoka.
Now granted, all three of these Masters have clearly said it either late in their Padawan's apprenticeship or after it's already over, while Ahsoka is only Anakin's Padawan for a grand total of like 1.5 years, 2 at the tops, and is nowhere NEAR Knighthood when she leaves or when she pops back in just pre-ROTS. But Anakin's so dead fucking set on making Ahsoka happy when she comes back that it could've made sense for him to say it to her then, something along the lines of "You seem a lot wiser than you were when you left, you'll obviously be a wiser person than me one day." He could've said something like this more desperately in his attempts to get her not to leave in Wrong Jedi, too, but he doesn't.
Look at how he reacts to her doing well on her Jedi assessment, he can't even praise her for the things she DOES do well so long as he believes it to be inferior.
Which I feel says something about that relationship. I'm not sure Anakin would've EVER said something like this to Ahsoka because calling someone a wiser, better Jedi than himself goes against everything Ankain personally believes. He might LIKE Ahsoka, he might be proud of her skills, believe her to be advanced, but she'll never be The Chosen One like him, she'll never be as powerful or as smart and enlightened as he is. She'll always be inferior, even if he'd never really think of it that way.

(Force ghost Obi-Wan visits Anakin at the moment of his death)
-
Vader is slipping away, fading into the ether. Obi-Wan can feel the end of it in the Force. And yet even as he watches, Obi-Wan rages against it. He cannot let him.
Obi-Wan had come to terms with Vader and his past a long time ago. He had accepted his part in it and let go. He was a Jedi, and he had forged ahead and put his faith in the boy. In Luke. But he had never expected this. Vader–Anakin–to come back. Not after so long. It was less that he'd lost faith in Anakin, and more that it was necessary for him to be able to move on. How cruel the Force was then, to give Anakin back only to take him away again.
Obi-Wan cannot let him.
As his last words leave his mouth, taking with it his last breath, Obi-Wan rushes to his side. It would take a miracle. He, Yoda, and Qui-Gon, had all had to receive extensive training to maintain their consciousness after death. He had but mere minutes. But Anakin was the Force's son was he not? He was the Chosen One. And oh he'd believed it was Luke. And it was in a way. But also Anakin. Always Anakin. So if anyone could do the impossible, it was him.
"Obi-Wan?" Anakin's eyes widen. He has no mouth to speak anymore, caught in death's grip. Yet still his voice rings true. "Master I'm sorry! I'm so sorry I–"
"Hush now and listen carefully. We don't have much time."
Indeed, even now he could feel the way Anakin was merging back into the Force. Gone forever. Just like when he'd fallen to the Dark. Except now it was worse. Because now Obi-Wan would truly never see him again. He has no heart nor any body yet it aches. No please, he begs silently. One last time. One last miracle.
"You're in the netherworld of the Force. But I can teach you how to revisit corporeal space and retain your consciousness. A path to immortality."
"But…why…?"
Confusion and remorse burst through. Luke hugs his dead father's body to his chest.
"Never mind that! Do you wish this path, Anakin?" He cannot keep the desperation from his voice.
Anakin looks up at him. "Yes."
Obi-Wan has no breath but he feels his chest heave anyway. "Right, let us begin quickly…"
-
Yoda and Qui-Gon had manifested beside them as Anakin grew stronger and more grounded in the Force. Their voices helped steer him away from the wave which would have swept him away.
After all is said and done Anakin stands before him. Anakin, as he was. As he used to be. Obi-Wan almost cannot believe it even with the proof in front of him.
"Masters." Anakin looks around him, overwhelmed and teary eyed.
"Anakin." Qui-Gon smiles proudly. He moves to hug him. "I was watching you always. You did it. I knew you could."
Ankain squeezes back.
Yoda nods at him, a smile on his old face. Obi-Wan yearns to hold him too, but he hesitates. Unsure how to anymore or if it is even welcome. It's been so long. And there is so much to say. He's sorry he gave up on him. He's sorry he didn't try harder. He's sorry for causing him so much pain.
There is no shielding in the cosmic force. It is all open and bare. Anakin feels all of it. He is frozen in place. In turn Obi-Wan can feel Anakin’s own remorse. His guilt burns alongside everything else. But above all his soul aches for Obi-Wan's just as well.
Oh. Oh Obi-Wan wishes he could hide himself away like before. Put up a wall and meditate this away. This is too raw. Too open. He is gutted and speared and on display.
But so is Anakin.
"Obi-Wan."
They fall into each other. Their souls intertwining finally. There is love. Love. He is made of it. He radiates it. He'll never let this go again. Not ever.
-
The party lasts far into the night. Luke gives them a smile and turns away to rejoin his friends. Anakin smiles proudly at him. Yoda has already returned to the Force. Only he and Anakin remain to watch the festivities a little longer.
Obi-Wan turns to observe him. Anakin is as radiant as he'd been at 23. Curly hair, his Jedi robes in place. He looks exactly as he had been. Obi-Wan feels so old standing next to him. His eternal boy. It didn't seem fair, but Obi-Wan wouldn't have it any other way.
Anakin shifts to peer down at him as if taking him in for the first time. His eyes wander his face and wrinkles.
"What?"
Anakin reaches up to drag a hand through his white hair. Obi-Wan bristles at the touch, leaning in without meaning to. His soul has always reached back for Anakin.
"Nothing. Just looking at you I guess."
His ephemeral form makes a valiant effort at blushing. Then Anakin opens his mouth and completely obliterates any chance he had at saving face.
"Can ghosts have sex?"
They were both of and in the Force. Anakin was him and he was Anakin. It was the closest they'd ever been and ever would be. But instead of saying any of that Obi-Wan touches his beard and strokes the memory of bristles.
"Can't say I've ever tried."
Anakin grins.

Our Last Summer
Anakin Skywalker x reader
A/N: Inspired by "Our Last Summer" by ABBA 💕
Summary: Who would of known that the vacation that Anakin & Y/N went on was the last moment of peace before eveything went wrong.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The sun shined so bright that August afternoon that I could of sworn the sun gave out. The heat of the summer sun and the breeze from the water gave in and added to the perfect summer. The birds were flying out of the trees enjoying there last moments in Naboo before the Summer ended. The flowers that layed in the back field stood tall against the sun taking in the last day of heat. The once perfect days of summer were coming to an end.
Soon the vacation Anakin and I shared would come to an end, and life would begin. The lengthy vacation Anakin and I took felt like nothing compared to what we thought. Tommorw morning would be spent packing all our belongings and pretending as if it wasn't summer. Pretending that we haven't been spending the last 2 weeks of our vacation in love. The days we spent swimming, tanning, and frolicling in the ocean felt so vast compared to days ago. Almost like the moments that were spent between the two of us, felt so very far away.
I had a feeling Anakin knew I wanted to lay in the field. I simply had left the house and ran away to the field. Anakin was inside watching a hologram from Obi Wan, and I ran. It wasnt that I was running away from Anakin, I just wanted a moment to myself. I wanted a moment to reflect and enjoy the last day of Summer before the facade was over. Before Anakin and I had to go back to pretending to be freinds and not lovers.
The two of us had thought no one had caught on, but we were wrong. Obi Wan knew the two of us were in love the minute we met. The minute yoda had brought me into the temple that day saying I was Obi Wans newest addition. The two mentors had knew that day. They knew that not only Ankain and I would fall in love, but that one day our love would tear us apart. But who would of known that because of our love a legacy was destroyed.
I could hear Anakin before I saw him. I heard the crunching of the flowers, and Anakins huffs every time he stepped on something, but I couldnt open my eyes. I just simply didnt want to open my eyes to find the man that I love, soon turn into my "freind". I thought that maybe, if I closed my eyes long Anakin and I could stay like this forever. If I closed my eyes and thought of the all the memories Anakin and I shared then maybe we could stay like ths forever.
I could sense Annakin sitting down next to me. I knew that he could sense I wanted to be in silence, to enjoy the last minute of summer. Anakin layed next to me and held my hand kissing if every now and then. We layed there for what felt like forever enjoying the ambience of summer and enjoying our last minutes together.
Every now and then when I close my eyes I can still imagine that day. I can still see Anakin and I laying in the field enjoying the sun, holding one another in our embrace not wanting the summer to end.
When the sun had set Anakin and I had headed bsck inside. I groaned and moaned every minute we had walked back to the house complaining to Ankain how my feet hurt. At one point he had picked me up and carried me back to the house, telling me he couldn't hear me complain anymore. I had laughed and tugged him closer whispering to him how much I loved him.
Walking into the house I could of sworn the moment Anakin and I shared was out of a movie. There I stood carried in the embrace of the man I love, consumed in the thought of love while the sun had set. Anakin and I had walked all the way up to the bedroom with him still carrying me. He insisted on it saying he couldnt let me go. Anakin and I were both so consumed with one anothers love that it made us numb.
Anakin layed me down on the bed and we both began to laugh. Gradually Anakin had jumped on the bed laying right besides me. Every now and then he'd play with my hair, hold me a little bit closer, and tell me how beautiful I was. The room was no longer bright like it had been this morning. The sun shined so brightly that morning it woke both Anakin and I up even through the blinds. We were in the same positions as now but tangled up with on another under the blankets.
Unlike this morning the room was now very dark. I could barely make out Anakin, but I could see his face. I could see his blue eyes, smell his sandy blonde hair fresh of shampoo, taste the ocean water we had been in previously, feel his hand on my heart, and hear both of our hearts align.
On nights like this, Anakin loved to put his hand over my heart and for me to do the same. He always said it made him feel more connected while not through the force or our minds, but by using our hearts. The most intimate human connection that anyone could have. Every emotion, reaction, feeling all came from the heart.
Anakin always said he wanted to share his heart with mine to show how much he loved me, how much he cared. Who would of known that was the last time Anakin and I ever held each others hearts. The last time that was spent just between the two of us sharing pure innocent love. The last summer we'd share before everything went wrong.

TRAPPED | ANAKIN SKYWALKER
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Synopsis: General Grievous was a slippery droid, always managing to escape the Republic's grasp. You and Anakin were fueled by this once and a lifetime opportunity to bring Grievous into justice where he belongs. What will you do when you find yourself trapped on the Separatist's ship Grievous is currently residing on? Will you finally put an end to the infamous general?
Warnings: fluff, gender-neutral reader, seriously no angst (this time), anakin is nothing but a sweetheart, canon typical violence. W/C: 2862
Note: okay, my eddie era is finished (i might post one more because i have a rough draft but who knows), and star wars prequels have taken their place. I sincerely hope you enjoy. this oneshot is also dedicated to @adrunkskeletonsduck, love ya :)
star wars masterlist
Tumblr media
"Anakin, this is stupid."
"No, it's not," he scoffs before continuing to crawl through the tight vents.
"We are in the ventilation of Grievous's man cruiser with no map, no sense of direction, and praying the Obi-Wan has seen our distress signal."
"Yeah-huh, I still don't see the problem."
Upon your and Anakin's fight with General Grievous, you pursued him onto his vessel with the intent of finally bringing him to justice after long grueling months of tracking him. What you didn't expect was for the ship to depart from your cruiser a second later, leaving you stranded on a Separatist's ship with your partly damaged comm link. Anakin's was utterly destroyed, leaving yours your only hope of escape. He suggested that crawling in the vents would give you a better view of the ship and keep you undetected while you waited for backup. The problem was, you didn't know where you were heading. This ship had a completely different layout than any other Separatist ship you've ever encountered, leaving you with no choice but to put your faith in the Force to guide you somewhere safe.
Once glowing a bright green, your comm link stuttered before powering off. You hit the screen once, then twice, your frustration boiling as you come to the terrible conclusion; your comm link died. The excessive damage it received must have affected its battery, letting it drain faster than usual.
Anakin turned around, letting his gaze fall on your now broken communicator. His shoulders slumped, and he sighed, running a gloved hand through his locks before pulling on the ends. You lost the easiest and most proficient way to get off the ship. Now, your only hope for escape was to go to the control room to manually send a distress signal to Obi-Wan. Unfortunately, the main control room, which contained all their communications and transmission supports, was sure to be teeming with droids.
It is not that you couldn't take them, far from it actually, but it put you and Anakin at unnecessary risk of being spotted, and if General Grievous caught a whiff that two Jedi- Anakin no less- were stranded here, you would be used as hostages against the Republic. You were trained for years of your life not to be anyone's burden, and with some of the Council's and the Republic's, for that matter, prized generals and Jedi's here, they would have no choice but to bow to Grievous's demands. Or he would lead them into a trap, ultimately raising the death toll just to save you. The risk had just doubled and now considerably more was at stake than your and Ankain's lives.
Anakin must have had a similar train of thought because he sank back against the metal vent, resting his hands on top of his knees while he let his head hang low. This, by far, was not an ideal situation.
"We have to go to the main control room." You leaned back against the cold metal, your own anxieties stirring within you at your predicament. Anakin, sensing your distress, crawls from his side of the vent, next to you. The space was tight, leaving little for him as he wrapped an arm around your shoulder, pulling you into his chest. You feel his heart beat next to your head, and you place a hand on his chest, delving into his warmth. Anakin chuckles lowly at your eagerness as his hand runs across your back, rubbing soothing circles along your spine. You became weak to the heat of such a simple gesture.
It's rare moments like these that you savor the most. The ones where you could be close to the man you unapologetically love, with no wandering eyes watching and criticizing your every move, telling you that your love, as pure as the sunlight washing over the planets, was a path to the dark side. It was just you and him for the rest of time.
Even though the two of you had been involved for months now, you rarely found time to be with each other due to the demands of war. The only way you two could spend time together was at night, after the day's duties, when Anakin could sneak into your apartment. It was risky due to the Jedi's apartments being a part of the temple, but you worked around it for the sake of one another.
The early mornings and the late nights were reserved solely for Anakin; even if all you did was sleep, you were near him. With the moon hanging high over Coruscant's bustling planet, you would feel his heart beating in his chest, its slow rise and fall, and the soft fabric of the shirt that clung to his powerful muscles would lull you to sleep without fail. It was a very needed reminder that he was safe and, most importantly, alive after a daring mission. Even though your time together was spread thin, you always made the most of it, always.
A voice in the back of your head reminded you of the task at hand, and you very reluctantly spoke. "We need to go, Anakin."
"I know," he murmurs, resting his head on top of yours. In his signature, you could sense the reluctance to leave the peaceful moment you two created, but he knew you were right. The longer you stayed here, the chances of being rescued dwindled drastically.
"We should do this more often," you announce, and you feel Anakin's heart rate accelerate against your face.
"What? Get stuck on a Separatist's ship?" he retorts, placing a chaste kiss on your hair. You roll your eyes, burying your face deeper into his robes.
"No, just exist like this together." You felt his admiration flow in heavy waves through the Force. Your chest gave a funny squeeze to the sensation as he pulled you closer, just for a second, to feel you as his mind worked into overdrive of how he could prolong the moment the two of you seemed trapped in.
"I would like that too," he finally said, pressing one last lingering kiss to your forehead, ensuring that you could feel every ounce of love and affection he harbored for you in the simple point of contact. He pulls away from you a second later, biting back his smile as he watches your face fall. "C'mon, we need to start moving if we are ever to get out of here," he announces, pulling his body away from yours.
"Then lead the way, chosen boy." Anakin shakes his head at the nickname you came up with years ago while he starts crawling forward, peeking down at the vents every time he passes them. You follow him, wincing at every creak in the metal as your knees bite harshly into the unforgiving floor. From the surroundings below, you could guide yourself to the control room.
"I think we're here," Anakin said, his voice barely above a whisper. He looks back at you to catch your nod as you look over his shoulder at the view below. From what you could see, the control room was below you, a room separate from the bridge. About four droids were standing idly while they chatted amongst themselves.
Your goal now was to make the most minimal noise possible, which would be your biggest struggle. If the droids fired shots from their blaster or even attempted to contact the bridge, you would be finished. Your following movements would have to be made with the utmost precision.
"What's the plan now, general?" you inquired Anakin, watching as his lips curled into a frown at the title.
"It's Anakin to you."
"What about Ani?"
"What about you shut up and focus?"
You stick your tongue out at him, and the crease between his eyebrows deepens. You are about to make a snarky retort before Anakin places a gloved finger over the curve of your lips. He warningly glares at you, his eyes darting down to the droids. Then, there's the unmistakable sound of the door swooshing open and the metallic clanking of footsteps. General Grievous, the droid you were supposed to be pursuing, steps into the room.
You feel your blood run cold and drain from your face, your heart sinking into your stomach. Grievous wasn't supposed to be here. Did he catch onto you and Anakin? How does he know? Why is he here? A thousand questions swirled in your mind while Anakin removed his finger from your face, placing his hand on yours. The slight contact breathed a bit of life back into you, helping to ground you back to the present.
"Uh, sir?" one of the droids asked.
"What?" Grievous spit, his cape billowing slightly behind him.
"Have you found the Jedi?" the other spoke up, and through the robotic voice, you could detect a bit of hopefulness.
"No," Grievous growled, stomping over the panel. "The Jedi scum have nowhere to run. They will try to contact their friends for help. You need to be ready to alert me when you see them. I will deal with these Jedi personally."
"Roger Roger," they respond as Grievous finishes whatever he came in to do, stomping out the door a minute later. As soon as the door closes, you and Anakin breathe a sigh of relief. That was way too close for comfort, you think, and the most disturbing part is that they know you are still on board. You could feel your chances of escape dwindling significantly, and the reality of the situation started to seep in.
Yes, you wouldn't be stuck here for eternity, but their arrival would take even longer if the others didn't discover your and Anakin's whereabouts. They would also have to consult the Council about a rescue mission, and maybe, just maybe, that's what they were doing now. They must know that you are on one of Grievous's ships, but which ship was the million credit question. If you can successfully send out a signal, they will know which ship is too bored to extract you two.
You turn to Anakin, only to find his eyes shut tight in concentration. Then, you hear a faint banging sound of something not too far outside the room. The droids stand alert and look at each other before filing out of the room to investigate. Anakin opens his eyes, a triumphant smirk resting casually on his features as he kicks out the vent cover. It falls with a loud clang on the floor, and Anakin jumps through the opening. You follow suit, landing on the floor beside him. You head to the doors without a word, taking the cover off as you pull the wires unceremoniously out of their socket, jamming the doors.
You turn to Anakin, who is already at work, sending a distress signal. You listen for any movement outside, almost collapsing in relief when it's quiet as a tomb.
"Done," Anakin finally proclaims, stepping away from the panel. Now, it is left to a waiting game. As you step away from the doors, you turn around to face Anakin.
"What now?" Your gaze wanders to the many buttons displayed in front of you. Anakin takes a look around the room before responding.
"We wait. Obi-Wan might try to send a transmission through, so it's probably best if we remain here…."
You both felt it simultaneously, the force of it enough to stop you dead in your tracks. There's a rippling wave of anger through the Force, growing in intensity as it nears your location.
Grievous.
Son of a bitch.
You and Anakin glanced at each other, feeling around for your lightsaber attached to your hip. Its familiar weight met you, the cool metal resting on your sweaty palm. It was daunting, to say the least, to fight Grievous again. Far stronger Jedi have battled him, and none of them have succeeded. It was a heavy burden placed on your and Anakin's shoulders to bring this droid to justice after escaping it more times than you can count on two hands.
Two lightsabers were thrust through the heavy door as they burned a circle through the thick metal. It broke away a second later, and the infamous General Grievous strutted through the opening. If droids could smirk, you're sure his would stretch across his face.
"Jedi," he sneered, raising his two lightsabers in front of him. You and Anakin ignited your own, the sound of its humming filling the air.
"Grievous," Anakin darkly addressed, taking his stand.
"I can't kill you, not yet. We need to show the Jedi how weak their beloved pets are." In the blink of an eye, Anakin lunges for Grievous, lightsabers whirring as you jump into the fray.
Fighting with a lightsaber was like dancing. It required not only strength and mobility but gracefulness to sweep around the enemy, to move your feet and body in such a way to gain the advantage. Every swing of your lightsaber you brought down upon Grievous was beautifully coordinated with Anakin's. That's the thing about you two; you compliment each other in battle. As he focuses on offense and lacks in defense, you back up his defense while he assists you in offense. It's stunning, really, to witness a lightsaber battle of this caliber. The colors clash, emitting a horrible hissing sound as it makes contact while the other blades whir and whizz through the air.
Despite you and Anakin working in sync, Grievous moves faster than any human's reflexes, always countering any attack thrown his way, spinning the fight to his advantage. Of course, you knew this from battling him previously but seeing how quick he reacts puts your reflexes to shame. It's easy to see that you are fighting an uphill battle. Grievous predicts your attacks too quickly to be able to deal any real damage to him. It's a stalemate, and you are worried Anakin won't recognize the direction this battle is taking until it's too late.
Grievous spins his lightsaber down hard on yours, causing you to stumble back. He takes advantage of your unsteadiness as his attacks grow more aggressive. Your muscles ache from their extensive use, and you find your reflexes become more sluggish with each swing. You are not the only one the battle seems to take a toll on; Anakin's previously aggressive attacks are growing more defensive. One of Grievous's lightsabers comes down next to your head, almost singing your hair in the process. Sweat drips down your face, adrenaline furiously pumping through your veins to make you forget the way your body doesn't seem to move the way you want it to.
It's not long before he has you pinned, his other arm still deflecting Anakin's attacks. The hope you once clung to that you would make it out here was dwindling, and the prospect of your defeat became more of a reality.
"You're finished, Jedi," Grievous snarls, dipping his head down to look into your eyes, glistening with struggle.
"I don't think so."
A lightsaber cuts through Grievous's legs, and in a split second, he drops to the floor. The sound of metal clanging bounces off the walls. Obi-Wan stands triumphantly behind Grevious before his eyes fall on you and Anakin. Ahsoka skids down the corridor with a clone squadron following close behind. You can see the relief gleaming in Anakin's eyes as he collapses into one of the chairs, his chest heaving with exertion.
"You couldn't have arrived any sooner?" Anakin asks, putting his lightsaber back.
"Well, we had some…complications trying to find you," Obi-Wan replies, taking a step forward.
"Yeah, yeah, now we need to go," Ahsoka urges, pointing to the corridor to her left.
"It's a pleasure to see you too, Snips-"
"Wait… where Grievous?" you exclaim, jumping to your feet despite your body's protest. You can feel the panic settling into the room as the clone troopers look frantically around.
"The vent!" Obi-Wan shouts pointing to where you and Anakin entered the room. "It's too late. We need to leave."
You and Anakin shared a weary glance before you followed Obi-Wan out and back to the cruiser. It took no more than five minutes to enter the security of the republic ship, you and Anakin walking side by side the entire time.
"See, that wasn't so bad," Anakin commented, shooting you a smile.
"Sure, Anakin, sure."

Thinking about how 1x04 ended with the [Vader Theme] playing after Ahsoka sees Ankain.
And how in 1x05 we didn't hear the [Vader Theme] play once.

If Ankain wouldn't witness a Scottish Highland Cow it would be a crime aganist humanity.
So...just a thought 💕
Lmaoooo the first time I saw a highland cow was in the western highlands outside of Oban and it was a 100000/10 experience. I happened to be out hiking and the owner happened to be out by pasture so he witnessed me be a thousand times more excited about it than a normal person should. He also, with upmost kindness and amusement let me jump the fence into the pasture and pet her. She was very sweet and I think I blacked out in the middle of it from pure joy.
Did you know before the 1800s the majority of highland cattle were not the red ones? Queen Victoria was responsible for a lot of Scottish culture coming vogue since she was really enamored with Scotland and her and Albert spent a lot of time at Balmoral Castle. In particular Victoria loved the highland cattle but she liked the red ones the best as opposed to the more common black highland cattle. As a result they started selectively breeding for red cattle on the Royal highland estates and over time the black cattle have been eclipsed by the red bois.
But back to your point I can 1000% include a scene of Anakin meeting a highland cow lmao I think he would be equally dumbfounded by one as Obi-Wan would be in stitches over how startled he’d be.

TCW for the fandom ask game :)))
Oooo! This is such a good show!
Thank you so much for the ask!!
The first character I first fell in love with: I would have to say Obi-Wan. I always liked him the best in the prequels because of his sass and oldest sibling vibe. (If you've read my other responses to these fandom asks, you'll see that sass is a staple of all my favorite characters.) But I also love Rex, Fives, Echo, and Tech.
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: That would be one Captain/Commander Rex!
The character everyone else loves that I don’t: I mean, I guess Yoda? His episodes were always a little boring to me. I like Yoda, he's just not my fav.
The character I love that everyone else hates: Oh goodness. I guess early Ahsoka? She's really not that bad for a child being thrown into a war with Anakin "Disaster" Skywalker as a master.
The character I used to love but don’t any longer: OK, so, like, Prequel Kaninoans, didn't care. Didn't love, didn't hate. Now that I've realized that clones are the coolest ever, the Kaminoans are kind of the worst!
The character I would totally smooch (or hug): All the clones deserve a hug.
The character I’d want to be like: Rex! He's resilient and caring. He'd do anything for his friends.
The character I’d slap: Pong Krell, of course! But also Rush Clovis. He was annoying.
A pairing that I love: Padme and Ankain are cute, but I also liked Obi-Wan and Satine's forbidden love thing.
A pairing that I despise: I am not a fan of the Rex and Ahsoka ship. Sorry!
There is so much to TCW and so many characters, I know I'm leaving out important people!
Thank you again for the ask!

Terrible Fic Ideas #19: Star Wars, but make it Empress Palpatine
The thing I love about Star Wars is that, force powers aside, the situation is one we all can easily see happening. (It can be difficult to believe that a mostly peaceful, benevolent Federation of Planets can spawn on Earth and come to encompass a good chunk of the galaxy a la Star Trek, but the rise and fall of an authoritarian state is all too easy to imagine, even in another galaxy.)
But when asked to given an example of an authoritarian ruler, I can only think of examples like Emperor Palpatine - which is to say, even looking at the wikipedia page on the subject I can't find a female example. So I thought... what if? Or more specifically, what if it was Empress Palpatine?
Just imagine it:
Specifically, imagine a universe where absolutely nothing changes except for Palpatine's gender. This has a few cascading effects in how Palpatine relates to Ankain and how the senator/chancellor is viewed by the galaxy at large, but does not change the overall course of events.
Instead of a wise old man, Palpatine is a wise old woman, presenting a matriarchal, grandmotherly care towards Anakin. This has the side effect of pulling Anakin in two more "opposed" directions - maternal from Palpatine, paternal/fraternal from Obi-Wan - instead of Palpatine and Obi-Wan "competing" for the same slice of the father-figure pie, as it were. Again, it changes nothing in the long run, just the dynamic of how their influences over Anakin play out.
For instances, a boy may tell his mother things he'd never tell his father, and vice versa. Also, there is a tendency to assume women are more compassionate and empathetic, so Anakin going to the woman he's closest to with his problems might raise fewer eyebrows than running to another male in a position of authority.
It might also put a subtle mother-in-law/daughter-in-law tension between Palpatine and Padme if Anakin keeps going to his mother figure with issues one might traditionally expect to be brought first to a wife.
This dynamic could be even more interesting to the explore than the mother/father of Obi-Wan and a female Palpatine, as there might be something I almost hesitate to call Cersei-like about it. Both are powerful women in politics from Naboo, but, without knowing the Sith plot in the background, it looks a lot like young, beautiful Padme's star is rising while old, aging Palpatine's star is falling. I'm sure an enterprising Sith can find some way to manipulate Anakin with that.
But otherwise... everything stays exactly the same. Fall of the Republic, rise of the Empire - and, later, fall of the Empire. The only difference is we have an Empress.
Perhaps it makes some parts of the Rebellion harder, as a female overlord might be assumed to care more for her subjects than a male, or at least speak as if she does in a manner that might be subconsciously believed more, but otherwise makes no difference.
And that's it really. All this idea boils down to is: give me Star Wars, but give me a slightly different set of interpersonal relationships between the antagonists, and, consequently, between the major figures in their lives.
Bonuses include: 1) all too often female representations of evil involve sexual deviance and/or extreme sexualization. Not here. Palpatine should be as sinister, tyrannical, and sexless as her canon counterpart. This should be especially clear in the differences in how Palpatine and Padme dress. 2) Everyone in the Jedi Temple reading a different set of problems into Anakin's friendship with the Chancellor. And 3) Luke, at some point, having learned Darth Vader is his father and seeing the relationship he has with the Empress, being force to wonder if Empress Palpatine really is his grandmother.
As always, feel free to adopt this bunny. Just let me know if you ever do anything with it.

This is completely ridiculous but in another universe instead of the jedi showing up at tattooine its Batman and he adopts ani who then becomes the middle child between Dick Grayson(nightwing) and Jason Todd(red hood). I think anakin would fit the bat family dynamic well. Alfred would be very pleased with his manners and chivalrousness and think he's a good lad, dick would never admit it but he'd be ever so slightly peeved at this. Little murder baby dami sitting on ankains shoulders using him as a means of transport around the manor 🤣 if anakin fell to the dark side in this universe it would be an extra headache for batman and dick cuz oh no anakin and Jason, anakin and Jason of all people have chosen violence and decided to fuck shit up. Obi wan would not deal well with the batfam it'd be such a stress for him not even Alfred's tea would help soothe him but to be fair there's no way obi would set even one of his pristine jedi boots on Gotham ground
Oh oh on another note Hayden should so be a live action Harvey dent just because the tragedy of the face thing would be so angst given how pretty Haydens face is
Bro if anakin somehow ended up in gotham and got hit with scarecrows fear toxin 😭😭😭 he would be haunted by padme like extra hard
this is another crossover that i don’t understand 😅 i don’t really know anything about gotham or batman lol and i don’t know any of these names
but go off queen. bat people tell the anon in the comments whether you agree 😇🤘
