Do you have personal headcanons on Callidora, Cedrella, and Charis?

hello! thank you so much for the ask

i don't have many specific headcanons, just more general ideas

i think the black family has lived exclusively in the london area for centuries and the house they lived in is from the tudor era and survived the great fire of 1666 through magic, becoming unplottable and invisible to muggles since then

the three were very close while growing up and got along with dorea the most out of their cousins because of the age proximity

theirs was probably the poorest branch of the family

being so distant from the heir line, the only expectation they had was to marry pure-blood wizards (or not marry at all)

callidora married a longbottom (i personally don't think she's directly related to frank and neville because i headcanon frank to be older than sirius iii and i always thought of augusta as being very old so the two of them would be closer in age), moved to lancanshire and had her three kids in the 40s

she spends many of her days at blackpool pier chatting with enid and augusta

cedrella followed the memo and married pure-blood septimus weasley, but her family was not pleased because the weasleys have gotten a worse fame of blood traitors after objecting to the pure-blood directory

she had four kids, all boys, and the youngest, whom she favors, is named castor (a star in the gemini constellation, twin to pollux). both castor and arthur got her blue eyes

charis married a crouch and i can't decide if she's the mother of barty sr. or not because to me he looks like the type to only have kids in their mid 30s after his carrier is solid and that doesn't align with her age

callidora and charis never stopped talking to their sister, but they can't pretend to like her children. callidora tolerates castor, and that's it

lysandra moved out of the house after arcturus died and cygnus and druella moved in with their daughters (they used to live with pollux in hampstead, in a house that would have been alphard's inheritance the way grimmauld place was passed down to walburga)

bellatrix, andromeda and narcissa got compared to them all the time because of the way they were always together

callidora cut ties with her family after the first war. not in a dramatic way, most of them were either dead or imprisoned, but she never went after arcturus, or pollux, or cassiopeia, anyone, she only spoke to cedrella

I just posted chapter 4 of my Minerva McGonagall fic!

Summary of the fic: It's the start of Minerva McGonagall and Adrastia Greengrass' sixth year at Hogwarts. Their friend group is mismatched and headed every which way in life, but for now they feel secure in their mutual understanding that whatever happens -- romance, family, disaster -- they have no plans to leave each other's side. The future might be uncertain, but it's most certainly bright, of that they are sure.

These are going to be short chapters (500-1K per chapter) from the perspective of whichever character makes sense at the moment, mainly Minerva and Adrastia themselves. The endgame is going to be Minerva/Poppy, but before the two of them get together some other ships and shenanigans will happen. I'll post updates at a slightly irregular schedule but try to never let more than two weeks pass between them (sometimes it'll be two days, sometimes two weeks, but hopefully never too long). For that, subscriptions are probably convenient so you get notified.

So for the sisters week of the @ladiesofhpfest, I'm writing about some of the obscure great-aunts from the Black family (Cassiopeia, Dorea, Callidora, Cedrella, Charis).

Folks, these ladies are just names on a family tree. All the info we have on them is their birth/death dates; their parents', siblings', and husbands' names; and how many children they had. And most of that is not even technically canon, depending on what you count, because only Cedrella is even mentioned in the books.

Why am I getting so emotional about these women? Why am I suddenly so invested in Charis missing Cedrella after she was disowned? Why have I suddenly decided Cassiopeia never had kids because she was terrified they would be squibs like her brother? Why do I have Dorea looking around at her mess of a family and wondering why they tell you family is everything only to make it so conditional? None of that is canon! I decided to do it that way! Why am I so determined to make myself cry?

Richard Oswald Longbottom, proud father and blood traitor

Eldest and first son to Gilbert (b. 1892) and Esther (nee Summerbee) born in 1917, during the Great War in France. Raised in Yorkshire with his other siblings: Nicole (b. 1919) and Algernon (b. 1922) alongside Muggins. Richie was best friends with Donny Moody, but befriended twins Septimus "Timmy" and Kenver Weasley at Hogwarts and encouraged Cedrella Black’s liberalism.

After Hogwarts, Richie studied at the University of Leeds in Education despite wizarding opportunities. His romance with Cedrella fell through before he joined the RAF in the outbreak of war. Flying Hawker Hurricanes most of his long career, he grew as a flying ace yet aiding France’s liberation, he fell, but never gave into the Zanos' lures.

After the war, Richard fell in love with Augusta Moody (b. 1919) and he rose up in the RAF regaining reputation in the Cold War. They had two boys: Franklin (b. 1952) and Orson (b. 1954) though adopted their orphaned niece Marlene Moody (b. 1949) in her teenage years, who later took her mother's maiden name McKinnon.

Eventually resettling in Yorkshire, Richard retired a Group captain and became a Muggin Studies teacher at St. Hilda's Magical Abbey teaching equality and tolerance and Gusta a mere shopkeeper. They raised their boys to be stanch advocates of all life.

Dear friends with Minister for Magic Nobby Leach (1962-68) and his family but also to the Potters, Blackworths, and Boneses. Yet their wizarding respect declines even to cousins Harfang and Callidora, long forgotten what a Longbottom is. Very close to Dumbledore, they're marked but they'll die before they forget themselves - once Muggins.

Okay so I read this one fanfiction forever ago on wattpad I think and like the idiot I am I forgot the name and author and I was wondering if any of you lovely people would maybe have an idea about what it called :

So here's what I remember it's a mauraders era fanfiction where they react to Harry's generation but the twist is that Sirius has twins who are Harry's age that have been living with a squib in the dursley neighborhood one boy and one girl I forgot what the boys name is but I'm 99% sure the girls name is callidora and regulus has a daughter with this one women who is sent to get the black twins and harry to Hogwarts but they think the baby's dead but shes not

It's a reading the book fanfiction and and some of Harry's gen. Is there with them

The first thing they read about is either lily and James dying or regulus death

Theres one scene where dracos making fun of the wesley's while Ron is on the bleachers and he snaps and hits him and sirus son joins in and a ravenclaw prefect stands up and percy tells her not to intervene

The teacher lady who had regulus's child has the childs baby blanket and it has stars on it

Anyways if anyone knows what this fanfiction is called or where I can read it please tell me

Almost as if someone else is directing his movements, Harry walks until he’s standing in front of the tapestry, running curious fingers over the rough texture, picking on the raised names and portraits of Black family members long dead.

Guess Walburga Black’s actions didn’t hold much weight then. She could only do what she did because her husband had been dead and neither of her sons had been able to step into his shoes. That was something, at least.

Harry doesn’t know how long he stood there, tracing his fingers over names like Alphard Black, Callidora Longbottom (who knew Neville was part black?), Cedrella Weasley (that must be the infamous grandmother), Cassiopeia Black, and so on. So much history contained in a piece of woven tapestry, lost to the annals of time.

It’s not the Black family history that he’s particularly attached to, rather the implications for his own. What was the Potter lineage like? Did he have cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents? Had all of them died out? He knew that it was an old family line, traced back to the Peverells—there had to be other branches, right?

Right?

Harry doesn’t know whether he wants it to be true or not. On one hand, finding family couldn’t be anything but a worthwhile endeavour but on the other…knowing he had someone out there? Who wasn’t the Dursleys? It might just be the last straw for him. Perhaps it’s better to live in ignorance, then. Spend his time on a family that’s not his own, sever the emotional ties.

His fingers snag on Andromeda’s name and he smiles, lightly, seeing her back on the tapestry—whole, unburned, as a daughter of the House of Black should be. He moves past Narcissa, Draco, Bellatrix to reach the main branch, the one he’s been avoiding so far.

Orion Black. Walburga Black. Harry lingers on Regulus’ name, bowing his head in respect for the man—nay, boy who’d sacrificed himself without a single thought for the glory of it nor his own life. Slowly, painstakingly, he moves to the one name he almost doesn’t want to see. He knows what he’ll find—a restored, perfectly detailed Sirius Black III. He can picture it quite clearly in his mind. Does he really need to subject himself to the pain of actually seeing it?

“Surely…not…” Harry’s mumbled words trail off as he raises his head to stare straight ahead, eyes catching on something that wasn’t part of his confident mental image.

“What the buggering fuck,” he breathes out, leaning forward until he was a hairsbreadth away from the fabric, nose tickling at the minute threads but he paid no attention to that for his eyes were caught on a faint line continuing on from Sirius’ name.

A line that shouldn’t be there because it signified progeny. Something Sirius didn’t have. Harry is dead sure about that. So what—

With trembling fingers, he traces the line, finger dragging against the coarse material almost painfully slow until he reaches one Harry James Potter.

Hi! I was wondering how obscure we can go with canon, like is euphemia potter ok?

Absolutely any character will do!

The only requirement is that one of the characters in the ship is a canon character, but they can be as obscure of a canon character as you want. Euphemia definitely counts, and so do Callidora Black (only ever mentioned on the published Black family tree), Polly Chapman (that one background student in the cursed child), and Eulalie Hicks (that professor from the third FB movie). If the character exists in the universe, they count.

If they're from cursed child or one of the games or the FB movies, I might not immediately recognise them bc I just don't know most of them that well (or at all), but I have google. I'll figure it out. Canon from any source counts, and god knows I love a rarepair.
