no because geto smiling down at nanako and mimiko with a smooth little grin as he says, “how are my ladies doing?” fuck. that does something to me. “ladies are we hungry?” or or “good morning, ladies. did we sleep well?”
REFERRING TO THEM AS LADIES. DO YOU AGREE. YES YOU DO IDC.
Roier immediately taking Leo to get her things, keeping her as far from Bad as possible until she has her armor, neither of them able to get into Vegetta’s tower, telling Leo he doesn’t know where Foolish is, telling Richas he doesn’t know where Cellbit is, talking about his new son Pepito and showing his room, asking if it’s really that bad (it’s small like he is and it’s in Bobby’s castle, Bobby’s castle, surely that’s good enough), taking care of both of their tasks even though he only counts for half the points because he’s not officially their caretaker, making coffee and cheering for Richas, tucking Leo into bed at the dragon and sleeping over to keep an eye on her, because Richas still has his other parents, Leo only has Roier, and I’m losing it I’m losing it I’m losing it
I get so emotional thinking about how bad Andrew wanted (and still, wants) Neil. It's like. He saw more than what others saw, I think. He saw for the first time in his life someone who might understand him, might stay by his side for more reason than promises and deals. Even if it that vision was just a glimpse. He saw a person where others saw a threat, and saw his heart and brains and more than the outside shell. And most importantly, he saw a version of what Neil could be in his life, and he wanted it so bad. He fought for it. Would keep fighting for it. In fighting for Neil he fought for himself, because what love does is give hope, even if you view it as foolish. It was for someone that he hopes, for the first time in his life, he could truly place his trust in. And what does a person want more than to learn how to give and be given? how to know someone so deeply they become a part of you, and you, in return, expose yourself to become a part of them? It takes some risks, some decisions he never wanted to make again, but those exact moments show that he starts to view Neil as a point of solid, reachable hope. And how much that means for someone that always had it slip throught his fingers like sand.
it’s been two days since i listened to “juno steel and the monster’s reflection” and i have not stopped thinking about it since.
like… people are just people. even when you don’t want them to be. even when it would be easier if they were monsters, easier if they were just evil. you have to make the choice every day to not make the same mistakes your mother did. you have to make the choice every day to see past her in your reflection. and you have to make the choice to see that she felt and loved and hurt on accident and on purpose just like you do because she was human and then you still don’t have to forgive her. you can see that your mother loved you and that still doesn’t make it okay.
