okayy jer sibling thoughts: for a minute i was toying with the idea that bryson isn't the brother cat was talking about when she says jeremy's older brother is an asshole, that there's another older brother maybe in prison? explaining the anxiety about being recognized by cops and his family's obsession with image (gotta crack down pretty hard when you already have a kid in prison). obviously jeremy doesn't get on with bryson, but he doesn't get on with annalise either (albeit not to the same extent as bryson) and cat doesn't say anything about her. granted, her wording of "/the/ older brother" implies bryson is the only one and therefore the asshole, but the other brother being in prison is still possible. if bryson *is* the bad one, i think he likely hurt jeremy at some point. i'm thinking about lucas and jeremy's phone convo where jeremy asks if lucas feels safe with grayson and lucas says "he's my brother" and jeremy says "that's not what i asked"... the exchange feels pointed imo
I didn’t even realise that interaction between Lucas and Jeremy was…significant but now that you point it out to me oh my GOD is it relevant it’s SO pointed.
This just gives me an opportunity to share my Jeremy’s Family Situation Theory okay so in this theory: (reposted it here)
- Jeremy has an estranged oldest brother
- This brother goes by their father’s surname and not Knox
- Jeremy’s brother was also on the Trojans (but this may or may not be dependent on them having different surnames)
- Jeremy’s brother was homophobic
So I have a few theories about the Banquet incident and one that’s a mess of a bunch of different theories and it’s this: picture Older Brother. Older brother is a 4th year Trojan, he’s well liked, but he’s kind of an asshole in private. His dad is Jeremy’s dad - but he grew up with a different surname, because their parents were still together/married by the time he was in school. Jeremy and his sister became Knox kids after their mother married into the Knox family. The older brother was old enough and refused to change from his father’s surname. He tried to fit in with the Knox family but he knows he’s kind of a black sheep for it. He’s the one that’s excluded from public facing recognition, because he’s not a Knox.
SO
Jeremy gets scouted for the Trojans while his brother is still there, and to have his baby brother on the team was INFURIATING to him. He didn’t get along with Jeremy already, but to have him on this team. Oh, he hated Jeremy for that. But the key thing here is he never revealed that Jeremy was his younger brother. He threatened Jeremy as well, and told him to keep his mouth shut, and tell NO ONE that they were related.
Along comes the fall banquet. Jeremy is out as a gay man and has been for quite a while. It’s a bone of contention in his family but ultimately they accept it as long as he is quiet about it, and it doesn’t interfere with their political or public image. But Jeremy’s oldest brother never supported Jeremy and regularly insulted him or bullied him over it. So, Jeremy is out, and he decides to bring a man to the banquet. 1) his mother begged him not to. 2) his sister begged him not to. 3) everyone in his family begged him not to. But he refuses to hide who he is or pretend to be straight for the sake of their image. In the end there’s nothing they can do, and he goes with this man.
Jeremy, little freshman Jeremy, rolls up to the banquet with a man on his arm. It’s 2003, maybe 2004. It’s a huge deal. Jeremy’s older brother doesn’t know he is bringing said man to the banquet, and he fucking glares at him all night. He’s so angry. By the time the tables get moved, he plucks up the courage to cross the hall to Jeremy. Calls him a very unsavoury slur starting with an F and Jeremy hits his brother, he punches him square in the face. He would’ve hit him again, but they get pulled apart and he can’t. Theres witnesses. And still nobody knows they’re related. The brother leaves him alone, Jeremy promises to stay away from him, and the night continues.
Jeremy steps outside to get some air, and unbeknownst to him his brother follows him. An altercation ensues, and eventually they start PUMMELLING each other. His brother hits him first, Jeremy hits him back, there’s blood and bruises and now more witnesses as Jeremy’s brother beats him the fuck up. Somebody called the cops, and the cops have to separate them. They ask Jeremy if he wants to press charges; he says yes. He says he wants it to be reported as a hate crime. They ask his brother if he wants to press charges for assault, and he says yes. So they both get arrested.
Where I think Jeremy’s fear of cops comes from, or lack of trust, or hatred for them, is how he was treated that night. The cops tell him they need a reason to charge his brother with a hate crime, he tells them he’s gay, and he gets treated like SHIT. They search him for no reason, they’re looking for any reason they can to make him uncomfortable or drop the charges. They’re asking him did he do anything to deserve it? Did he antagonise his brother? Has he been drinking? They make him really fucking uncomfortable and upset. by the time his mom bails him out he’s ready to drop the charges, but decides not to. The brother goes to stay with his father, Jeremy goes home, and the Knox family pay A LOT of money to keep this quiet. They don’t charge Jeremy with assault, but maybe they tell his mom there’s nothing they can do about Jeremy’s charges against his older brother if he won’t drop them.
Proceed to the reaction from USC; they recognise it as a hate crime and Jeremy doesn’t get kicked out of school, but he does get a very stern warning and maybe gets benched for a while. His brother on the other hand loses everything: there’s an active hate crime charge against him, he brutally assaulted a freshman while representing the team, and he gets removed from the team and expelled from the university. The Knox family have no choice but to estrange him further than he already was - so he’s totally out of the picture.
Jeremy tore the family apart because of his refusal to drop the charges, then him dropping the charges and instead getting a no-contact/restraining order against his brother means that while he’s living there the brother cannot be in the picture. So brother who is already a black sheep for not being a Knox, is now no longer welcome in the family home (except for when Jeremy is not in the house - if he’s not estranged, possibly he visits on the weekends, or lives there during the summer? And that’s why Jeremy doesn’t live at home during those times?)
The scandal is that he caused a team member to be removed from the team as a freshman, his sister who doesn’t like him that much anyway can now no longer see her brother, and she stopped supporting Jeremy’s matches because of it. He tore the family apart because of his insistence on being “GAY HATE CRIME VICTIM”. They bullied him into not seeking justice - and his sibling hate him for this whole incident. They don’t agree with him being gay because of their political affiliations, his older brother lost HIS older brother because of him, his sister lost him too. Idk
Does this even make sense? Is it far fetched? I don’t know I don’t care I just had to get this off my chest. I could talk about my theories FOREVER. This is just. A quick short summary of the possibility of an oldest brother who’s no longer in the Knox Family Picture.

step bro jschlatt?
YES OMG my first request! Thank you so much, anon!18+ (Or what ever your legal adult age is below the cut!)Disclaimer: I am a pathetic virgin so this probs won't be good. (I'm figuring you'd wanted smut...) so sorry if i mistook that.
When your mom first introduced you to Jeremy and his son, you were polite, of course. This guy made your mom happy, and you weren't going to do anything to ruin that, God knows your dad made her upset enough before he did you all a favor and left. That's not to say that it was easy, considering how obnoxious Schlatt was.
Schlatt made it painfully obvious he wanted to be anywhere but at that dinner. The entire time, he was fixated on his phone, not paying attention to anything being said, or the glares his dad kept shooting him, and undressing every waitress that passed by with his eyes. What a dick. He was even so full of himself to not go by his first name.
A few months down the road after Jeremy proposed, you and Schlatt were forced to spend more time with each other, being the maid of honor and best man. Venue tours, tastings, wedding details to be discussed in your new family chat, Schlatt of course only chiming in when he was forced.
Walking down the aisle next to Schlatt was the closest you two had ever been, stiffly linking your arm with his, cheesy picture day smiles stapled to your lips, pretending like you didn't hate each other.
As the years went on, you relationship with Schlatt changed. You still didn't like each other, but he talked more at family dinners and didn't seem like he wanted to off himself anytime you had to go somewhere together.
The downside of Schlatt getting more comfortable in the new family dynamic was now you argued like brother and sister.
You were watching a movie by yourself one day, lounging on the couch in the living room when Schlatt walked in, stood in your way for a minute, and then when you asked him to move, proceeded to halfway sit on you.
"Schlatt get off of me!"
"I'm not on you."
"Yes you are asshole, now get off." You told him, shoving and kicking him off you.
"Kids, please you're 16 and 17 years old. You don't need to argue like this all the time anymore." Jeremy shouted from the kitchen.
"But Dad he started it!" you cried. Schlatt just scoffed.
"I did not, the little princess is taking up the entire couch."
"Am not."
"Are too."
"Am not."
"Are too."
"Y/N, Jonathan, so help me I hear one more word from either of you you're both grounded." your mom cut in.
Glaring at Schlatt you sat up so your feet weren't taking up so much space as Schlatt moved to the other end of the couch.
"You guys will have the house to yourselves tomorrow, your mom and I are going out of town to visit a friend, and we won't be back until Saturday night." Jeremy informed.
"Fine."
"Alright."
Answering disinterestedly, you and Schlatt kept watching the movie.
After school the next day, you waited for Schlatt at his truck. It'd been a long day, and you were getting a headache; you just wanted to go home and sleep.
"Alright Ted, I'll see you later. Yeah, 7:00 sounds great, see you then." You heard Schlatt speak into his phone, finally walking up.
"You going out tonight?" You asked, hopeful that you'd have the house to yourself for a nice, quiet night.
"You'd like that, wouldn't you? No, Ted and Charlie are coming over." Schlatt answered, dropping into the drivers seat next to you and starting the car.
"Do they have to come over tonight? I was kind of just wanting a quiet night, go to bed early." You knew how loud and annoying Schlatt could get with his friends.
"It's not my fault you're fucking lame, princess. The world doesn't revolve around you." He answers, looking over his shoulder to back out, hand on the back of your head rest.
"Fine, Schlatt." You rested your head on the window, not in any mood to argue.
After getting home you dumped your bag on the kitchen table before heading to the medicine cabinet searching for ibuprofen.
Popping a few you headed upstairs to your room.
"I'm heading to bed early. Please try to be quiet with the guys tonight." you practically begged.
"You feeling okay?" Schlatt asked, seeing you take the medicine.
"I'm fine, just a headache. Goodnight."
You passed out pretty quickly, waking up a few hours later, your stomach growling.
Hearing the strangely quiet house you walked downstairs to find something to eat, seeing Schlatt sitting on the couch by himself, scrolling through his phone with some show playing in the background.
Noticing the time, you figured that his friends would be here by now.
"Where are Ted and Charlie?" you asked, voice rough from sleep, startling Schlatt.
"I told them I changed my mind." Schlatt said plainly. You wondered if it had anything to do with your headache.
"Too bad." you said, rubbing your eyes.
"I ordered a pizza, there's some left if you're hungry." Schlatt called, looking over his shoulder at you.
"Oh. Thank you." you whispered, seeing the pizza box sitting on the counter.
Walking over and opening the cardboard lid you saw your favorite toppings. Schlatt was always sure to make fun of your tastes in pizza whenever you had it as a family, so you were surprised. Nevertheless, you took a slice, quickly eating it before you took another piece and walked into the family room, sitting by Schlatt on the couch.
"What are you watching?"
"Hm? Oh. I'm not sure, haven't really been paying attention.
"Mmm."
You sat in a strange silence. Not the usual comfortable 'We're-not-firends-but-we're-forced-to-be-around-each-other-so-we'll-deal-with-it' kind. This was...awkward.
"So-- how are you feeling, princess?"
Schlatt must have noticed it too.
"Oh, um. Better. Thanks."
"Good."
Back to silence.
"Schlatt?"
"Hmm?"
"What made you change your mind about tonight?"
Your step-brother was quiet for a moment.
"I figured you'd wanted you sleep. You seemed quiet on the ride home and then you took the medicine-- I just thought it'd be best if it was just us tonight."
"Thank you, Schlatt. That was --sweet --of you."
This was different. This was the nicest you had ever been to each other.
"You're welcome, (y/n)."
Another heavy silence.
"This is weird right?" You asked.
"Oh, so fucking. I'm glad you caught that too."
Smiling you reach over and steal the remote off the couch arm next to him.
"What the hell do you think you're doing with that?" Schlatt moved to take it back.
"I wanna watch a movie and you're not even paying attention to the TV right now."
"Was too."
"Was not."
"Brat."
"Asshole."
Schlatt smiled towards to you. This was normal. This was how it was supposed to be.
"Fine, just don't put anything stupid on."
"I would never do such a thing. Alexa play Twilight Breaking Dawn." you say, looking straight into his eyes and trying not to laugh.
‐----------------
"Shut the fuck up it was all fake?"
"A vision of the future, yes."
"Unbelievable. This series actually puts in a good scene and that's what they do with it? Take it all back?"
You and Schlatt had been making fun of the movie the entire time, it was the most fun you'd ever had with him. You actually had close to the same humor and were getting along pretty well.
Calming down from you laughing fit you let out a big sigh as you lean your head back.
"Why don't you think we've ever gotten along?" You ask, turning to face him.
"What do you mean?" He asks, leaning back into the couch.
"You've always seemed like you hated me or something. Like I was this big inconvenience that came into your life."
"I never hated you, princess. I don't know, I think it might have just been hard, you know? Mom had been gone for what seemed like 10 minutes and all of a sudden Dad is dating this woman and I have a new step-sister. It kinda seemed like he'd forgotten her and our family."
"I've never thought about that."
You knew that Schlatt's mom hadn't been gone long before Jeremy was out on the dating scene again, only a few months really, but you didn't think about the fact that Schlatt actually loved his mom, had a good relationship with her. It wasn't like you, who hadn't cared about your other biological parent.
"I'm sorry, Schlatt." You said, putting your hand on his shoulder and squeezing.
"I'm sorry I made you feel that way all this time, Princess."
Schlatt looks over at you, and you can tell he's the most sincere you've ever heard him speak. And in that moment, you realized how bright his eyes were when he was happy, more of an amber instead of the chocolate brown you'd originally thought. His slight smile, the scar on his strong chin you'd learned he'd gotten from playing baseball when he was little. So many little things you were too busy hating him to notice before. And then, you noticed how close you were sitting, bodies turned towards each other, his arm across the back of the couch behind you. You didn't have time to register any of it before you noticed his lips on yours.
The kiss was warm, gave you chills, firm, soft, hungry, caring, everything it could be all at once. And wrong. But god, it felt so right. Your eyes fluttered shut --
And then it ended. Schlatt pulled away, and scooted as far back from you as he possibly could.
"(y/n) I am so sorry. I kind of just got caught up in the moment, and you were sitting there and you had that sweet look on your face that you always have, and your hair looked so good, and your lips looked so soft and -- God i'm so stupid. I'm so so sorry--"
"Schlatt--"
"I know, it shouldn't have happened. It just felt right in the moment and I--"
"Would you shut the hell up? I'm not mad."
"You're not?"
"Listen, yeah the situation isn't exactly ideal. But it's not like you're actually my brother."
Schlatt scooted the tiniest bit closer to you. You could see the little hamster wheel in his head spinning, calculating every little move he did.
You decided to test the waters and scooted closer to him.
His hand inches closer until it's resting on your thigh, but once it is he can't keep them off you. You're pulled into him, one hand in your hair, the other pulling your leg over his before sliding it up your back. His lips are fighting hard for dominance over yours, and just for good measure his tongue decided to come out to play too.
"Schlatt-" you whisper a moan. Pulling away to catch your breath, your head leans back and Schlatt moved to suck on your neck. Catching his lips in a kiss you mumble out a soft admonition.
"No hickeys."
"Wanna mark you up baby." Schlatt growls out.
"But what would mom and dad say?" You weren't necessarily the most popular with guys at school and you'd never brought a guy over.
Groaning Schlatt moves away from your neck.
"I know you're right, but, fuck Princess." He looks all over your flushed face, before racing his eyes over the rest of your body, his once shining amber eyes dark, pupils blown wide with lust.
Smiling you press your lips against his again, craving something you'd gone so long without.
You can feel Schlatt smile as his hands trail down your back before sneaking past your shirt, tickling the small of your back.
It wasn't enough for you. Reaching down you pull your shirt over your head and hear a repressed moan from the man sitting beneath you.
"You're perfect." Schlatt breathes before leaning in and kissing your bare chest, thanks to your decision to forego a bra during your nap.
Tangling your fingers in his thick chocolate curls you tug, trying to assert the slightest bit of dominance.
Schlatts fingers dug hard into your hips, holding you tight to his lap, making sure you could feel what you were doing to him between your thighs.
Rocking slightly seeking for any kind of friction, you're almost immediately pushed on your back, lying with Schlatt hovering over you. His body was so warm...so hard against yours....
"Gotta be careful, Princess," Schlatt pulled you from your thoughts. Leaning down to brush his lips against yours, he mumbles a quiet "or I won't be able to stop myself from fucking you right here."
This was it, there was no coming back from what had been said. Both of you knew that, and something told you neither of you cared in the slightest.
"Then don't." You leaned up, pressing your lips fully against his, trying to show him how much you needed him.
Schlatt returned the kiss with the same if not more enthusiasm, before lifting himself slightly to take his shirt off. He didn't outwardly show it, but Schlatt was built like a mountain, strong and broad, and no one had ever looked so good to you.
Leaning back down to kiss you, you place your hands on his mutton chops, slightly scratching his cheeks with your nails as his hands travel from your neck down your chest, stopping to slightly tease your hardening nipples, drawing a whine from you.
"Aww, does my baby like that?" Schlatt moves to your neck again leaving hot open mouthed kisses.
"Mmhmm," you babble, your pleasure making your brain foggy. You can feel Schlatt chuckle against your throat.
Giving one of your nipples another quick flick, Schlatts longer fingers tickle down your stomach, stopping to run along the waist band of your leggings, which you'd decided were too hot to wear any longer
"Please take them off, Schlatt."
"Please what, Princess?"
"P-Please, Daddy."
"Good Girl" Schlatt purred into your ear before sitting up to slide your leggings down your legs.
Schlatt watched with wide eyes, taking in every inch of revealed skin.
"God, baby. These legs are going to be the death of me."
"Oh. Shame, I thought maybe it'd be drowning between them." You whispered.
And then immediately cringed.
Schlatt barked out a laugh. "That was the lamest thing you've ever said, and you've said a lot."
"Fuck you."
"Oh, no, Princess. I think you've got that confused." Schlatt leaned back in once your leggings were off and captured you lips with his, letting his tongue explore every inch of your mouth.
God was he a good kisser. You were already nearly out of breath and moaning into his mouth. Your fingernails were digging into his back, holding on for dear life, too out of it to even think that you might be hurting him.
But as good as this was, you knew you needed more. Needed him, all of him on top of you, inside you, under you. Wrapping your legs around his waist, you tried your best to push his sweatpants down.
Schlatt took your hint and pushed his sweats and boxers down, letting his dick spring out, harder than anything you'd ever seen and perfectly curved.
His kisses became desparate before moving to your neck, sucking hickeys before you could stop him as he ripped your damp thong off.
Breaking the kiss you look down in surprise. "Schlatt!"
"Shut up i'll buy you a new one I promise." He barely spit out before kissing you again.
Letting his tip kiss against you your back arched from the stimulation you'd been craving.
"Good baby girl. You like that, huh? Like feeling Daddy's cock? God it's barely touching you, you little slut."
All you could do was nod, who the fuck knows what he was saying to you.
Kneeling, Schlatt looked down, watching him push further into you.
"Schlatt-"
"Shh. It's okay honey. I know, I know it feels so good, doesn't it? Now open that gorgeous little mouth for me."
Letting you mouth fall open Schlatt pushed in two of his fingers, making you gag.
"Oh, are they too much for you, sweetie? Are my fingers too thick for you? Jesus Christ how are you ever going to take my cock? Come on, baby, you need your practice. Suck on your Daddy's fingers."
Taking a deep breath you shut your eyes, doing your best to focus on sucking on his fingers, pressing your tongue against them.
"That's it, angel."
Once he had you preoccupied he trailed his other hand across your thigh. "I'm going to push all the way in now, Angeltits. It's going to hurt, but I'll go fast I promise."
Nodding against his fingers, Schlatt pulls them from your mouth, now covered in your saliva and placing both of his hands against your hips before pushing the rest of his length in.
Throwing your head back you gasped, hot tears falling from your eyes and a sharp stinging taking over.
Schlatt immediately leaned down, hands coming up to hold yours against the bed on either side of your head, kissing your tear streaked cheeks before whispering reassurances against your lips
"Shh. I know baby, I know. Just hold on, it's going to feel so much better, I promise. I'm gonna take care of you honey. That's my girl. So good for me, aren't you Princess? Just hold on to me baby."
"It's so much, Daddy."
"I know. Don't worry that's all you'll have to take until your ready, yeah? M'right here my love."
Hearing the sweet words fall from his lips another round of tears form in your eyes for an entirely different reason. Wrapping your arms around his neck you pull him close to you, chests pressed against chests, wanting him as close as possible to you.
After a while and the paid had faded you started to feel how full you were and how nice it felt. It was like a piece you never realized was missing was put back in place and you were whole.
Kissing Schlatt's cheek you nod, silently asking him to keep going.
"Yeah?"
"Mm. Slowly?"
"Of course, baby. Anything you want."
Schlatt slowly starts to move back and forth, inch by inch, letting you get used to the feeling. He knew this was your first time, and he was going to make sure that it was the greatest experience for you.
And what an experience you were having. You didn't even know something could make you feel as good as you felt right now. Even when you would try to take care of yourself, it was nothing compared to this. The feeling was making you arch your back, crane your neck, grip the cushion beneath you, doing anything you could to just--let out this feeling.
"Shit-" You let out.
"Feeling okay, sweet cheeks?" Schlatt smirked out.
A moan chased away whatever you were about to say as he hit a spot inside you. A spot that had your toes curling.
"I'll take that as a yes."
Once Schlatt reached a steady pace of moving in and out of you, his hand moved between your legs, gently brushing against you.
"So wet, baby."
He continued his ministrations and hip movements, going faster and faster and each thrust he seemed to press his hips harder against you, like he was trying to break through a brick wall that would let his dick claim more of you.
You had no clue how much time had passed, but it was enough that you were both covered in a thin sheen of sweat, and you could feel it running down your forehead and down your neck. Your hair was curling around the edges, and you felt sticky. Looking up at Schlatt took your breath away, no longer seeing your step brother but an Adonis above you, his thick hair damp and pressed against his forehead, his eyes closed in pleasure and mouth hung open as if in silent prayer.
You began to feel a burning between your legs, that delicious pressure building and buliding in your tummy.
"Sch-Schlatt."
Schlatt could only nod quickly, falling to stick his face in your neck, breathing in your scent and panting hard against you.
"Come on, baby. Let go. I"m right here, right there with you."
A few more thrusts had you seeing a bright lights and your ears ringing as you sank your teeth into Schlatt's shoulder. You could feel Schlatt groan and felt his warm cum spill inside of you in thick spurts.
Lounging in the afterglow, both of you panting, Schlatt leaned his neck up to place a long, slow kiss against your lips.
"You did so good for me, Princess. I'm so proud."
Giving Schlatt a sweet smile you kissed him again, your eyes growing heavy with exhaustion.
Slowly sliding out of you to avoid any more stimulation, Schlatt leaned down to pull up his boxers, kicking off his sweats and heading to the guest bathroom and bringing back a warm damp washcloth.
"Here we go, baby. Come on, lets get you cleaned up."
Gently wiping your thighs clean, Schlatt took care of you, making as much of the sticky feeling as he could go away.
Putting the washcloth on the coffee table, he helped you pull on his sweats and letting his shirt fall over your head, picking you up and letting you wrap around him like a koala before heading to the stairs to his room.
Looking over his shoulder you see the mess the two of you had made, washcloth on the coffee table, your clothes strewn about, cushions all over the place and the large wet spot where you'd been laying.
"The couch-" you mumbled tiredly.
Schlatt turned to see what you were talking about before giving you a sweet smile and kissing your temple.
"It's okay sweetheart. We can clean up tomorrow before our parents get home. But right now we have to go to bed, okay?"
Nuzzling into his neck you place soft kisses in agreement and let your eyes fall shut.
You were already half asleep when Schlatt lied you down and pulled the blanket over both of you before pulling you in to his chest and letting you turn to rest your head on his chest, letting his quick heartbeat and fingers softly grazing down your arm lull you to sleep.
"Love you, Princess." You heard him whisper before you fell asleep, thinking about your step brother.

Bring Me Home Arc 2 Part 13
Happy Wednesday! This arc is over 20k already. How many of you didn't realize that? I've got a longer segment for you this week. There wasn't really a good place to end it and this brings us to the end of the scene. If you like banter, this segment is for you.
Story Summary: Tim and Danny are both neglected by parents who care more about their work than their families. They deal with this by spending too much time online and find each other playing MMORPGs. They keep up their friendship as Tim becomes Robin and Danny becomes Phantom and don't bother keeping secrets from each other.

Jeremy couldn’t help but add, “Be sure to mention us to your dad, Timothy. It’s been ages since we’ve last been able to meet at a gala!”
“Yes, sir,” said Tim. Not that he’d be following through. Assholes. Danny pushed him up a wide staircase that framed the entranceway to get to the second floor.
“Exactly like my parents,” he told Sam.
“I swear, if I didn’t have Gradma Ida, I’d go insane. My room’s this way.”
Sam’s room was so large that not only did she have a double bed and vanity, but also a couch and enough cushions that they were all able to spread out comfortably. Tim and Danny took beanbag chairs next to each other. His friends took the couch while Tucker took a space on the floor and promptly pulled out a laptop and two PDAs. Sam settled in a rocking chair.
Tim laid out the goodies they’d gotten from the corner store. “We brought snacks.”
Sam grabbed a bag of chips. “Thanks. So what’s on the agenda for the night?”
Cassie asked, “Is there anything we can do about the ghosts?”
Danny buried his face in his hands. “I don’t know. I can’t get a close enough read on them to see where any are. And there’s so many that even if I knock one out of a human, another would just take it’s place.”
“Any idea what they might be after?” asked Tim. “The ones last night were wearing uniforms like police officers. And we saw the news report from your school earlier. That one looked like a werewolf.”
“He was wearing a collar,” added Bart. “And his outfit also appeared to be a uniform of some sort, though not a police one.”
All of them stared at Bart.
“You don’t think he was there willingly,” said Sam.
Bart shrugged. “Didn’t look that way to me.”
Danny groaned and leaned over until he was resting his head on Tim’s shoulder. “What am I supposed to do with that? What do I do if he’s not here to attack the town?”
Tim wrapped his arm around Danny to hold him steady. “How much sleep were you able to get between last night and now?”
“Unno,” mumbled Danny. “Three, four hours?”
Cassie clicked her tongue at him. “How about you get some rest tonight and we can figure it out tomorrow. We’ll take the night in shifts and if there’s a large-scale attack again, we’ll wake you up.”
Tim sighed. “Much as I hate to admit it, Cassie’s right. You need to sleep.”
Danny snorted into his neck and Tim couldn’t help the way his cheeks heated at the feel of his breath. “Like you’re one to talk.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Tim rolled his eyes. “We all know I’m not a good role model. Do as Alfred says, not as I do.”
“Wayne family moto!” Conner teased. Tim gave him the finger.
“Just one thing to do first,” said Bart.
“Yeah,” added Tucker. “I need to fix up Conner’s phone.”
“Two things, then,” amended Bart.
“What’s the other thing?” asked Sam. “I feel like I’m out of the loop.”
Cassie leaned back and looked up at the ceiling. “The Fentons gave us a tour of the lab. We want to arrange a system to get Danny out of Amity if things go bad.”
Tim noted how both Tucker and Sam tensed and exchanged a look. Then Sam nodded. “We’re in. And since you are who you are, which, Danny, we will be talking about how you kept Justice League connections from us later, we’ll trust you to be able to do it.”
“Don’t be mad at him,” protested Tim. “I made him promise to keep my secrets. It wasn’t safe for him to discuss it.”
Tucker waved a hand in the air. “We understand. Doesn’t mean we’re not frustrated with him. Don’t worry about it, though. Your secret’s safe with us.”
Tim bit his lip. “Please. It’s vitally important for my family’s safety that nothing gets out.”
Conner snorted. “Plus Batman would murder you dead if he found out you let anything slip.”
Tim groaned. “Don’t remind me. I’ll have so much paperwork. And would probably be benched for forever.”
Bart laughed and flicked a chip at him. “We’d kidnap you and help you prepare a new hero identity!”
With Danny still leaning on him, Tim couldn’t even catch the projectile and it hit him on the forehead. “I’ll take you up on that if I ever do get benched permanently.”
Sam cleared her throat. “As amusing as this all is, what’s the plan with Danny?”
Danny groaned, but didn’t move. “I don’t need one, guys. It’s not as bad as you think.”
Bart snorted. “Dude, your parents showed us an iron maiden.”
Danny shook his head. “Dad’s the only one who’s been shut up in that. And that was for threatening me and Jazz with it.”
“Um… what?” asked Cassie. “Why does everything you say make me feel more concerned?”
Tucker spoke around a mouthful of jerky. “Because his parents are mad scientists.”
Sam nodded. “No one lives in the houses on either side of his. And the value of every building on the street has plummeted due to proximity.”
Cassie shook her head. “How the hell have they been allowed to do all that? And why haven’t their driver’s licenses been revoked? We saw how they drove that tank of theirs.”
Tucker snorted. “No cop or city official is brave enough to go up to Jack ‘I can run through brick walls’ Fenton and tell him he’s not allowed to do something.”
Sam laughed. “And even if they were, Maddie Fenton has a blackbelt and will hold a grudge.”
“Last night it also seemed like she knows her way around that arsenal she’s got,” said Tim.
“Yeah,” said Danny. “Mom’s the one you’ve got to watch out for when my parents go on the hunt.”
“Okay.” Tim was already thinking up ways to neutralize them. “Us four should be able to handle them. What about Jazz? Is she someone we’d have to worry about?”
Danny pushed himself up and made sure Tim could see him rolling his eyes. “Jazz would never do anything to hurt me.” It was clear Danny believed his statement completely. And, honestly? After all the stories Danny’d told him and meeting Jazz in person, Tim was inclined to believe him. Though Danny wasn’t done. “And my parents would stop if they had any idea I was Phantom.”
Neither Tim nor Danny was as certain about that statement. Glancing around, everyone else seemed to have the same doubts.
“Well,” said Tim. “You know me. And I’ve told you about B. ‘Backup plans’ is my middle name. I’ll feel more comfortable if we have one.”
“Fine.” Danny flopped over until he was laying across Tim’s lap. “But don’t expect me to help.”
Now it was Tim’s turn to roll his eyes, but his fingers were gentle as they brushed through Danny’s hair. “Yeah, yeah. Whatever. So, it’s Maddie we’ll have to outsmart. I doubt Jack’s strength is any match for Conner or Cassie.”
“I can get you access to the Fenton house,” said Tucker gesturing to his laptop. “Even if they activate the home defense system.”
Tim nodded. “Thanks. I’ll also get you communicators so you can reach me in case of an emergency.”
“Perfect,” said Sam. “We’ve each other’s cell numbers, too.”
“Yep,” said Tim. “But phones should only be used for civilian identities. If you need the help of heroes, please use the communicators. It’s best to keep things as separate as possible.”
Conner nudged Tim’s foot with his own. “Yep. Tim here won’t let us refer to him by name when he’s in costume. Even if we’re all alone in our own base behind two dozen layers of security.”
“Need I remind you who trained me?”
Cassie laughed. “He’s even worse. You should hear my aunt go on about him.”
Tucker was watching them with interest. “Who’s your aunt?”
Bart disappeared from his spot only to reappear next to Tucker to whisper in his ear.
Tucker’s eyes widened and he stared at Cassie in wonder. “That is so cool! Could you get me an autograph?”
Cassie laughed. “Why so surprised? You know who I am. Did you think I wouldn’t know her?”
Tucker blushed. “Yeah, well. Excuse me for being distracted by the ghost invasion we’re dealing with.”
Tim cleared his throat. “I think we’re getting off topic. Now, we have a way into the Fenton house. Tucker, could you get us all the way into the lab?”
“Easily. I’m fully in all their systems and they’ve no idea.”
“How will we know he’s in trouble?” asked Bart.
Tim bit his lip. “Danny and I already have a system in place where if we don’t hear from each other within seven days without prior warning, we reach out to someone. For me, it’s B’s butler. For him, it’s you Tucker.” He nudged Danny only to realize he had passed out his lap. Tim couldn’t help the fond smile he gave and shook his head. “Tomorrow I’ll propose decreasing that to three or four days.”
Conner nodded. “If none of us hear from one of you for more than four days, we’ll come. Probably me, Bart, or Cassie since we can travel faster.”
Tim grimaced, but nodded. Sometimes it really sucked being the only baseline human in the group.
Bart gave a thumbs up. “I can usually be somewhere in minutes if I’m not tied up doing something else!”
Sam looked them over critically. “You know he’s gonna insist that goes both ways. If you guys don’t check in, he’ll go to you if he can.”
Tucker began typing away on his laptop. “I don’t know why I didn’t think of this sooner. I’m setting up alerts on the Fenton lab. If they start recording any experiments on an actual ghost, I’ll get a notification. If there’s any indication it’s Phantom, I can have the alert forwarded to you.”
Tim nodded. “Good. Do that.” He looked at his team. “We’ve seen the Fenton’s weapons and some of their fighting skills by now. I don’t think we’ll have any issues subduing them if necessary.”
“Nah,” agreed Cassie. “We can handle them.”
Back to Sam and Tucker, Tim asked, “Do we know what their weapons can do to humans? What risks they pose?”
Sam grimaced. “The small blasters are fine. But some of the bigger weapons? Like the bazooka or the missiles? Those have caused damage to the roads and buildings beyond what the ghosts do.”
“Have there been any casualties?” asked Cassie.
Tucker shook his head. “No. Thank God. It’s all been property damage so far.”
Sam nudged him. “Not quite. You’re forgetting Wes’s brother. Jack broke his arm two weeks ago when he shot at the Box Ghost and knocked over the pile of bricks that was being used to rebuild Mr. Nguyen’s store.”
“Ugh, right. I think I was trying to block that debacle from my mind.”
Tim sighed and shook his head. “I knew it was bad, but Danny really downplayed it.”
Sam shrugged. “Yeah, well, this is life in Amity right now.”
“I suppose so.” Tim looked down at Danny who was frowning even in his sleep. “I think I’m gonna get him in a bed. Where will we be sleeping?”
“Probably a good idea,” agreed Sam. “Do you want to share a room?”
“Yeah, if you don’t mind. We haven’t had any one-on-one time yet. Which is a shame for our first in-person meeting!” Tim laughed and ignored the looks his friends were shooting him as well as the grins Sam and Tucker were exchanging. “Though with our lives, I should’ve expected something like this rather than a purely civilian meeting.”
Sam laughed. “Yeah, probably. This is about par for the course for us. Take the room across the hall. If you need the bathroom, if you exit my room, turn left and it’s two doors down on this side of the hall.”
Tim shifted so he could lift Danny up. Despite the shuffling, Danny didn’t open his eyes, though he did grumble indistinct protests.
“Just getting you in a bed,” said Tim.
Conner grabbed the bag that had their belongings in it and opened the doors for Tim. While Tim settled Danny in the bed, even having to remove shoes and socks, Conner separated their things so he would have everything he needed.
“Thanks, Kon.”
“Anytime, Tim. Get some rest yourself, okay?”
Tim huffed a laugh. “Sleep is for the weak.”
Conner shook his head. “You say that and yet at the end of basically every mission, you pass out for twelve hours and are useless for two days.”
Tim stuck out his tongue. “I do have homework to do. And I want to keep my eye on the local news channels. And I need to check in with Bruce again before he flips. Let me know when your phone is working?”
“Will do. See you tomorrow.”
“Night.”

So! They now have a working system for how to find out if Danny's in trouble and to get him out. Hopefully they won't have to use it! (I mean, we all know where this is going. I presume you've all read the original prompt and fill that started this mess.)
Also, thanks to a comment on the last post, I wanted to clarify the relationships in this fic. If you've gotten Core Four (Tim/Kon/Cassie/Bart) vibes from this... Yeah. You did. If you've gotten Everlasting Trio (Danny/Sam/Tucker) vibes from this... Yeah. You did. I'm going to write those groups as a sorta QPR. Eventually, we will have romantic Danny/Tim (hence I've been tagging this Dead Tired) on top of those QPRs, but that won't really happen for a while. First Danny will date Val and Tim will date Steph. Danny will have another relationship, too, that I'm keeping secret for now. None of those are likely to get any page time as I am planning a time skip after this arc. But they will be referenced by characters. The actual Danny/Tim won't happen until after the rescue scene from the original fill. (Which I'm sure you can imagine will be changed quite drastically now that all these characters know each other.)
I no longer do tag lists, but if you head to the Subscription Post, you can set up notifications for when this updates!

The first snowfall of the year was consistently your favorite day every single year. You loved the cold, loved the snow covering every inch of nature like a beautiful pure blanket, you loved snow angels and the memories of sledding and building snowmen with your family and hot cups of coco and a million other memories clouded deep in the individual snowflakes of your childhood.
So, when your daughter experiences her first day off from school because of the snow you’re practically more excited than she is. You’ve been awake since six, curled up in your favorite chair next to the window rotating between watching the snowfall and becoming engrossed in your favorite book.
It takes Jeremy another hour or so to get up, you listen as your husband stirs from his sleep and sits up to see the light glinting off the snow creating a halo effect around you. You pick your head up out of your book and turn to see the definition of a prince sitting in bed looking at you. Jeremy has one arm up and resting on top of his head, his body half reclined with tired eyes roaming your figure. The blanket on the bed has slipped so most of his chest is showing and the tired but loving smile on his lips has you melting like the snow will in a couple of days.
“Good morning,” he murmurs in that deep voice reserved just for you.
“Morning,” you smile widely, a natural reaction around your husband.
You place your bookmark inside your book before getting up and climbing back into bed with Jeremy. He pulls you into his side and you rest your head on his chest while his fingers trace lazy patterns on your body.
“Do you have practice today?”
“No,” he says, pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
“Should we go wake up Livvy?” you ask, lifting your head so your chin rests on his chest.
“No I think-”
Your husband doesn’t get to finish his sentence, the words cut off by your daughter bounding into the room. She climbs up onto the bed and immediately throws herself down in the middle of you two.
“Dad it’s snowing!” she squeals in excitement, tugging at Jeremy’s hand so he can look out the window.
Your moment is paused from then on, your daughter dragging Jeremy to the window and eventually downstairs to eat breakfast and out the door for sledding. You join them as they start to make a snowman, grabbing all of the clothes your daughter asks for. She grabs them from you and starts to dress the snowman her and Jeremy have built.
Jeremy steps back, making his way over to you and sliding an arm around your waist. You look up at him and he leans down to press a kiss to your lips.
“Y’all having fun?” you ask and he hums in agreement against you.
“Momma look!” Olivia calls and you turn to see the snowman dressed in a bruins jacket, a bruins baseball hat, stick arms, a carrot nose and a smile made out of rocks.
“It looks perfect baby.”
The three of you head inside for dinner and Jeremy offers to put Olivia to bed afterwards. You’re standing in the bathroom brushing your teeth when your husband sneaks in behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist and pressing his face into your shoulder.
“Is she asleep?” you ask around a mouthful of toothpaste.
“Out like a light,” he promises.
He kisses your cheek before letting go and brushing his own teeth. The two of you talk for a bit before heading to bed, Jeremy holding you close while you drift to sleep.
When you wake up, there’s a tugging on your arm and a quiet voice in your ear. Your eyes snap open realizing it’s your daughter and she has tears in her eyes as she looks at you.
“Livvy baby, what's wrong?” you ask, sitting up in bed and dragging her into your lap.
You pull her close, one hand cupping her head to your chest while the other fumbles for the lamp. Once it’s on, your free hand nudges Jeremy until he’s awake before you’re back to focusing your full attention on your daughter.
“Dad read me a story about a snowman walking around town at night and stealing Christmas presents,” she chokes out, crying hysterically in your arms and you cast a glance at Jeremy who has nothing but regret on his face.
“It’s not real baby, snowman can’t move,” you promise and your ever defiant daughter sits up in your lap and shakes her head.
“Yes they can! I saw ours moving when I looked outside!”
You sigh quietly before carefully maneuvering out of bed and carrying Olivia to the window and pointing outside.
“They’re not moving baby,” you tell her but she’s still unsure.
“What about the other snowmen?”
So, that’s how you, Jeremy, and Olivia end up in the middle of the streets while it’s still snowing, taking a stroll to show her that snowmen don’t actually move or do anything at night. She gazes at them with fear in her eyes at first, but after seeing two or three, she’s moved on to being in awe of the Christmas lights decorating each house.
The snow has started up again as you walk, and Jeremy pulls you close against him, a soft smile on his lips.
“You got some snow,” he starts to say, brushing it off your hair and you smile up at him.
“You look pretty covered in snow,” he starts to say and even after all these years you blush at his words. “Guess that’s why they’re called snow angels.”
“Oh,” you drag out, dramatically bumping your head onto his chest. “You’re so cheesy.”
“You love it,” he smirks.
“I really do,” you respond and his smile widens.
“Let’s get my girls home, yeah?”

You and Jeremy had been friends since you had met in school, you helped him through everything with his parents and you never questioned him for his methods of coping only made sure that he was safe, when he decided to give it up you helped him with that as well, provided him with ways to distract himself and get through the withdrawal period. Through that time Jeremy started to notice something about you, you threw yourself head first into everything without a thought for what you were already doing or how this was going to affect you.
Jeremy hated it, over the years he had fallen for you, with everything that you had done to help him he had started to rely on you in a way that he hadn’t managed with very many other people. Now it was his turn to help you with the little problem that you had. You were in your last year of school the same as Jeremy and while you were trying to study the supernatural world would not wait.
Jeremy was laying on your bed holding a book over his head, not that he was actually reading anything, it was only a few moments later that your phone started ringing, you picked it up within seconds and he waited watching as you greeted the person on the other end of the phone “Hey Bonnie, what’s up?” You asked, you were silent for a second. “When?” You nodded to whatever you were hearing and then scribbled something down on your already filled diary. “Yeah, that’s fine, I’ll let you know if anything changes.” “What was that?” Jeremy asked. “Bonnie was just asking if I could help her with the prep for Elena’s birthday.” You answered as you crossed out something and rewrote it somewhere else with a question mark next to it. “When?” He asked. “Tomorrow.” You answered. “Don’t you have an appointment tomorrow?” Jeremy asked. “Yeah I think I can move it though.” You answered and that explained what you had crossed out and moved around in your diary. “I really don’t think that’s a good idea.” He said as you looked at him and waved him off. “It’s fine I promise this is the last time that I’ll move it.” You said and he sighed.
The next day, Jeremy had a few things that he needed to do that day to prepare for Elena’s party but as the day pulled to an end he decided to drop by your place and make sure that you were okay. When he got to your place he realised that you weren’t there, easily figuring out where you still were. Jeremy made his way to Bonnie’s house to find you still here helping her with a few things, Jeremy knocked on the door, Bonnie opening it she smiled when she saw him “Is (Y/N) still here?” He asked. “Yeah she’s here.” Bonnie answered “you come to take her home?” “Mmm.” Jeremy hummed. “Is that Elena’s gift? Do you want to leave it here, the party will be happening here anyway.” Bonnie explained, Jeremy nodded, handing her the gift before following her in, you were sitting on the sofa, handwriting the invites for the party. You had decided that the best way to make sure that the party goes off without a hitch was to have a spell on the house meaning that the only way that someone could actually get in would be to have the invitations that you were writing, you had hoped to have them done earlier but it was taking far longer than you had expected. “It’s late, you know.” Jeremy said softly as he stood in front of you. “I know but I still have a few more to write.” You answered. “You can finish them some other time or Bonnie can finish them, you know the party isn’t until the end of the week.” Jeremy explained “I’m sure that you have a lot to do tomorrow.” “Yeah I guess.” You answered. “I can write the rest of them (Y/N) don’t worry.” Bonnie spoke up from behind him, Jeremy turned silently, thanking her and crouching in front of you. “Let’s go.” He said softly.
The walk back to your place was quiet, you didn’t seem to want to talk, Jeremy assumed that you were tired but when you got home he noticed that there was something wrong “what’s wrong?” He asked. “I should have finished everything.” You answered. “I woke up late and then didn’t get there on time, it would have been finished if I had got there on time.” “You woke up late because you're trying to do too much, it’s not your fault that you're tired and honestly Bonnie didn’t need you to write those invites.” Jeremy said as you looked at him, he gently took your hands and smiled “you did a lot today, despite everything, you keep pushing yourself through and burying yourself in work, you’ve done it since we were kids, I think you're in need of some time for yourself.” “Don’t have time.” You answered childishly. “We can make time, the rest of the week we’ll get everything done, we’ll go to Elena’s party and then I’ll make sure that you are unbothered while you take some time for yourself.” He explained “they can get on without you for a couple of days.” “Us… Without us.” You corrected it. “Alright, us. They can get on without us.” He promised. While Jeremy hadn’t actually told you how he felt about you, he hoped that he could help you feel a little better, maybe a confession can come later, when you were both ready for a relationship.
Requests and general question!

Butterfly Effect
Fandom: Code Lyoko Word Count: 1953
Ao3 Link
Hi, @sapphicfolch! I'm your Santa for @codesecretsanta! I was going to do holiday celebrations, but then t he idea of Yumi getting possessed by Xana didn't leave me alone. So here we are!
Aelita tapped her foot anxiously against the metal pole on the chair. Ulrich was supposed to tell Odd, and Yumi had to get free of her brother, and Jeremy couldn't get free of Milly and Tamiya. William had answered and said he was already on his way! But it didn't do much to calm her nerves, or the air of unease settling in her bones. The longer that they waited, the more time they gave XANA...
The more risk her father was at...
Aelita rested her forehead against her balled hands. Thankfully for her heart, she heard the tell tale woosh of the old elevator doors creaking open.
"Guys!" She shot up, spinning around in the chair. And it... wasn't all the people she had hoped to see, but it was something. It was William and Yumi. Jeremy was supposed to be on his way, and she trusted that - He'd be able to transfer Odd and Ulrich when they got here.
"I had to promise to do Hiroki's homework for a month..." Yumi seemed a little annoyed, and Aelita couldn't blame her. She could offer to help out with that later...
"A small price for saving the world, right?" William, on the other hand, seemed incredibly enthused, just as much as he had been the day before, when they had made sure he was inducted properly into the warriors.
"Doing sixth grader math isn't my idea of a good time..." But it was a sacrifice she was willing to make, and Aelita wished she could explain properly her thanks that Yumi made all the sacrifices that she did.
Aelita opened the self virtualization program and hopped off the chair. "Hopefully the other boys will be here soon." She joined Yumi and William in the elevator as she hit the button to go down to the scanners. "Thank you guys for getting here."
The air in the elevator was thick and heavy as they descended towards the scanners. And worse yet, Aelita felt in her bones that something was going to go wrong.  The same kind of feeling that Odd had to explain that future sight felt like.
And then the scanners opened, and it wasn't time to be worried anymore. It was time for action. ________
“So this is home sweet home, huh?” The voice was right, that was Yumi. But the tone was all wrong.  “Yep! Your family is waiting for you!” Aelita was terrified of what came next. They had run into Hiroki at school, and that had been a near disaster that was avoided by the sheer fact that Ulrich was at least familiar in dealing with Yumi’s little brother.  But Hiroki had just been willing to accept that his sister was a little sick after a sleepover in the dorms. That she wasn’t supposed to have, but… … Yumi’s parents had been a pain to convince. And sure, mimicking Yumi’s voice was the trivial part. The super computer did that so easily, it was one of the first functions everyone figured out how to use. But acting the part was another story. Nailing just the right level of seriousness without coming off as cold (because Yumi wasn’t.) and still sounding polite and respectful. It was hard to put that into words. And this clone wasn’t it, not really. YUmi had confessed once that her family was already worried about her mental health, and her ‘rebellion’...
“So that’s my mom and dad and… he said his name was Hiroki, right?” The clone checks, resting a finger on her cheek in thought. “Yes.” Aelita was good at being patient, but she couldn’t help the rising feelings of how this shouldn’t be necessary. That someone should have been able to save her.
“Can’t wait to meet them!” “Remember, you already have, okay? Just pretend.” The clone grinned at her. Aelita smiled back. Maybe it’d be okay, just until they saved Yumi.   ________
Maybe they should consider themselves lucky that William distracted the mantas for so long. They were able to take him out, but he wasn’t exactly an experienced pilot on the overbike, and he drove pretty recklessly. (No more recklessly than Odd on a good day, sure, but recklessly nonetheless.) Aelita and Yumi fly out to the landing on the back of the Overwing, and with a nod, they both leapt off the vehicle. They’d just have to fight their way up to the core anyway. This way, it’d be faster.
“I’ll handle the closer ones. Aelita, can you get the ones that are further away?” Yumi asked quickly, raising her fans up immediately to catch a laser flying in her direction. “I like to think my aim’s better than Odd’s.” As if to prove her point, her first attack hits true, and the creeper explodes into pixels. Above them, the core is still being attacked, but Aelita is able to relax, just a little bit, now that they’re here defending it. If she and Yumi can so much as delay the attackers, then they would be okay.
Yumi opened her fan by Aelita’s head, successfully blocking an attack headed straight for her, and her other fan was thrown at the offending Manta. It also landed true, and returned safely to her hand.  “Let’s keep going.” She turned and began jumping further up the platforms of the core room, and Aelita followed.
There were a lot of enemies, raining lasers down on their heads. And as they ascended higher and higher, a stray shot got lucky, nailing Yumi in the side as she stepped forward to throw her fan. Jeremy’s warning didn’t come fast enough, and Yumi was knocked off. The offending creeper was immediately destroyed by Aelita, but that was too little too late.
“Girls, watch out! There’s a Sycphozoa! What could it be planning- YUMI!” Yumi had been snatched out of the air with an agileness that Aelita doesn’t expect from the slow squid like monsters, “Gh… Aelita, you have to do something!” “On it.” Her first attack hit a manta that she was sure wasn’t there before, and with frustration she fired another attack to the same result. They were protecting it…. And yes it whittled down the numbers, but Aelita’s heart sank as the monster dropped Yumi and she slowly stood up.
“Dang it- Just hang in there, Aelita. Odd and Ulrich are on their way.” Jeremy sounded frustrated.
Aelita’s bad feeling was justified wasn’t it, she thought faintly as Yumi turned on her with her fans finally making their way back to her hands.  ________
That first night they stood at the gate together, and Aeita pulled her phone out of her pocket to check the time. It was just about when they said they’d check in with her family for dinner. So they could sit down and eat before going upstairs to have a sleepover.
Aelita had stayed over at Yumi’s once, almost a year ago at this point, when she had first come to earth and she was just “Yumi’s Pen Pal”, before she had a solid story for her return to earth and she was Odd’s cousin instead. And if it weren’t for that prior explanation, Aelita didn’t know if her request for a girls night would have gone over nearly as well.
She wanted a girls night, but not like this.
“Let’s roll!”  Aelita shook her head. “Yeah. We wouldn’t want to be late, they’d get mad.” And they wanted to try and keep them from being mad as much as possible. Aelita wished she knew Yumi’s family better, that she could in some way know what to expect.
To everyone’s credit, the meal started with all in high spirits. Aelita had only gotten to have traditional Japanese food a handful of times in her life, and she was at least looking forward to that experience… if her stomach would settle down enough to eat.
… The dinner wasn’t as big a mess as Aelita feared it would be, but it wasn’t great either. The clone sucked with Chopsticks for one, and Aelita could only do so much to cover the fact that The clone didn’t know much about the people who were supposedly her family. It was only when the conversation landed on their friends that Aelita could relax a little. And it was at this moment, Aelita learned the clone was, perhaps, a little boy crazy. This would be fuel for Hiroki for weeks… And worse, what her parents would think…
This had to be only a week that it took to save Yumi. What would happen if it wasn't? ________
Aelita’s fingers are gripping the back of Jeremy’s seat tightly. So tightly that it was probably bad for her hands how tightly she was holding.  William was asking Jeremy questions as he typed, ones that he was only answering in muttered words as he reluctantly tapped the enter key. The screen lit up as two scanners activated. Odd and Ulrich didn’t make it in time, and so they were forced to return to Earth empty handed, barely avoiding the destruction of Lyoko. But at least they made it home.
Aelita knew what she’d find when she slid down the ladder to the scanner room, but she had to check. (The first sign was that only two scanners were active, the third already sitting open and empty.) But seeing the center and left scanners open confirmed it anyway. There was Ulrich, with his fist balled up against the side of the scanner wall, and there was Odd, immediately sliding to the ground, hitting his head on the back of the scanner.
She had the feeling they already knew. And they would have no choice but to climb up to the main lab and hear it for themselves.
And hear it for themselves they did. With his hands balled against his cheeks, Jeremy makes the terrible awful announcement that he couldn’t bring Yumi back in. Couldn’t even find her on the network. William comforts Jeremy, pointing out he didn’t even get into the core room in a fit of annoyance. He could have done more. Ulrich sulks off to a private corner of the  super calculator room, and Aelita slides down the wall now that she’s made it back up the ladder. Odd takes a seat next to her.“At least you were here in time. Ulrich and I didn’t even manage that.” And what a sight it was, when even Odd couldn’t manage to  be cheery about it.
Lyoko is destroyed. The kids flee the factory, unable to stay. They can’t bear going back to school right now. At least the Hermitage was private. ________
“They seem like nice people!” Aelita bites the inside of her cheek, trying to not say a word as she takes a cross legged seat on the floor by Yumi’s giant Totoro plush, and the clone sits on Yumi’s- her? - bed. All splayed limbs and relaxation and Aelita couldn’t relate at all.
Dinner had been really difficult to sit through.
“You love them, that’s what you always told me.” Aelita said finally, though she doesn’t know how to even begin to put into words all of the fights she had heard second hand, and the misguided but true worry. Or how much Yumi had been struggling to balance all aspects of her life and how little this was going to help.
When they saved Yumi (they would. They wouldn’t ever leave one of their own behind.), she was going to have fun cleaning up the mess her clone left her. But she would have her friends to do it with. Aelita wasn’t going to leave her.
“I can see why.” The clone agreed. They just had to hang in there.

I thought I had you figured out | OUAT AU Series 🌙
Tumblr media
Summary: The curse has broken, yet both sides of the family are torn apart once again. One half in the enchanted forest and the other in FighterTown, what else can go wrong?
Pairing: Nikolai x Mia, Liane x Ethan, Jeremy x Cole
Platonic Pairing: Joshua & Bella
Timeline: Post--Don’t Give Up On Me fic & Present Day fics
Season: 2
~~~~~
A/N: I got inspired by a concept, I always had for Mia in the MCU as she isn’t much of a sleeper anymore after she gets her own upgrade from normal human to mutant. And with the recent rewatch of clips and my own sleepless nights, it only seems fitting. One of theses days I gotta stop traumatizing my OCs I swear 😂 BUT NOT TODAY!
Note: You guys can keep going with the tale and see who they meet in the forest fic. Or what’s happening in The Town fic hehe
———
~Flashback~
In the early morning air, the coldest temperature would bring the cozy atmosphere within small home. It was pouring outside, which made everything feel more colder than expected. It's been 2 weeks since the daring adventure and their wild saves.
It was good. In two weeks they were gonna be going to a ball, dancing and drinking the night away.
But the couple wasn't in peace, yet. They couldn't quite get a good deal of sleep.
She stood in front of the bathroom mirror, her hands rested on the sink behind her as she let out a sigh. Her sleeping curse was gone but still, she held nightmares of being trapped in a blackened room filled with deep fire, no windows or doors, just a narrow hallway.
Side effects of the sleeping curse.
She was in her thoughts when a pair of arms wrapped behind her humming and kissed her shoulder. She smiled tiredly, leaning into his chest and kissed his cheeks.
Tumblr media
Nicholas has known about Amelia's nightmares for a while now, cursing his brother and that stupid curse, as he tried to calm her worries. He had his own nightmares. Dark thoughts and fears in those nightmares, he didn't care to admit, yet he knew that she knew about them. As she would hush his worries, let him cuddle in her arms and just listen even if he didn’t reveal everything.
He breath her in natural scent and sighed, pressing kisses to her hair as he said, "I got an idea."
"I am not staying up again until midnight." She joked looking over her shoulder, pressing the dark bangs out of his face.
"No, I mean, it could work. My mother, she used to light a candle, telling me they catch the nightmares and let the person.."
"..sleep in peace. My mother used that trick with my father during the Ogre wars. Do you think it will work?"
"Let's hope..if not, we can always take a few shots and wish our troubles away."
"You're hilarious."
The two of them headed back to the cozy atmosphere of their bedroom, as Mia lit a candles for the both of them. She knew her fiancé tends to have nightmares of his own, despite him not voicing them, so she decided it was a fair gift.
It was silent agreement to do this for a couple of days at a time, in hope of making their nightmare turn into forgotten memories.
He rested his head on his pillow watching her lighting the candle next to the nightstand, then nuzzling in bed beside him. The warm of the covers and bright light of the tiny fire brought a gentleness in the air. A comforting feeling to whip away the fears.
Two candles to catch the nightmares, as they fell back to sleep...
~End of Flashback~
---
..she shot up, awaken from the slumber after that nasty fall. Liane groaned rubbing her shoulder, looking over to find the teens, Nikolai and Jeremy surrounding her.
They weren't in the town hall anymore, but in The Enchanted Forest.
Jeremy was awake already, rubbing his neck from the hall trying to awaken his friends.
"Alright get up." Jeremy said, shaking them awake as the teens groaned and muttered 'let us sleep', "You two can sleep once we return home."
That caught Bella and Joshua's attention, waking up and looking around at the sight around them. Bella was silent drinking the world she just entered as Joshua said, "..uh, didn't Cole say that the forest was a wasteland? This doesn't look like one."
"Aye. Whatever we are, my husband lied about it, and we need to get out of here soon." Jeremy respond, helping them stand.
Liane puffed up her purple collar, following the four of them, keeping an eye on the kids. Nikolai asked if the others were okay, telling them that they needed to find shelter and a plan to get home quick. He also knew that their spouses are going to kill 'em! He led the path, pushing past a few bushes and trees in awe of the forest.
It was greener than he last remembered, yet some leaves were dry and rougher than others. It made the path look bleak. And foggy, despite the sunlight shining through the trees. Jeremy chuckled soaking in the bushing and semi-fresh land, meanwhile Liane touch the trees and snapped her fingers as it evoked magic from her palm.
Bella slump the book that was inside her backpack taken back by all the greens and dry oranges that filled her eyes. She read the book, or least the chapters that mattered to her, but she never expected to appear inside the words of the book itself. It was a wonder.
However she felt an off priming subject within their surroundings. Joshua felt it too, a hollow feeling he knew all too well, the forest felt alone and quiet.
Too quiet for their ears.
Joshua has spent his years alone, on the run and trying to adjust to figuring out who he was. He knew the hollow feeling, the quietness and hard times that follow behind it. All those sleepless nights, he was always told he was different and misunderstood. And when he thought he found some kind of peace, he was thrown into a world wind of situations such as this one.
Tumblr media
He liked to think he doesn't need anyone, that he can figure out things on his own, because that's all he ever known.
But standing here in the woods, he feels less confident, unsure to admit it or not. He was only in this world for not even an hour before he was sent away in hopes to protect him from the curse.
"Up ahead! A pot of land." Jeremy shouted taking the young boy out of his thoughts.
"You sure it's safe?" Bella asked, following her uncle.
"Half of this land is dead, so it's the best thing at the moment."
"Doesn't sound promising."
"Hey, I'm trying here."
"Whatever you say."
Bella looped her arm around Joshua, telling him to pick up the pace as they followed the adults. Nikolai could tell his son wasn't in the best shape, it concerned him. Hell, he could tell his niece wasn't either. Like something was bother her, yet she refused to admit what it was. Liane was in a daze, rubbing her shoulders as her eyes fell on her daughter trying to ponder what was going on in her mind.
Tumblr media
Nikolai bumped the blonde's shoulder and asked, "You alright?"
"Define alright.." She replied with a light smile.
"Well you woke up from a sleeping curse a while back and now we're stuck in the forest after a nasty fall from the hat."
"Yeah, right..the curse, not proud of it. Wh-when we fell and I was knocked out cold, I was dreaming..and now I'm awake."
"Uh, that's how sleeping works."
"Funny. I'm serious, I was dreaming but it was a weird one, like I was in a room and then..the corners were on fire. But not my fire.."
"Ooh. I see, it wasn't a dream..acted like a nightmare."
"Y-yeah! It turned into a nightmare, I was in this happy colorful room and then poof fire! Wa-wait, how did you..?"
"It's the side effects of the sleeping curse, it goes away with time. Mia had it..I once had it."
"Oh. Damn..when does it go away?"
"Depends on the person. It took Mia months, meanwhile it took me weeks."
Liane nodded silently remembering a certain redheaded princess she put under a sleeping curse and whines in embarrassment at the thought. Nikolai noticed the look on her face and sighed, knowing this must've been karma for the blonde.
Soon enough, they took shelter at the pot of land, which appeared to be an old campsite. They found swords laying around, pieces of clothes hanging on clothes line, bow and arrows and even a few dead bodies. Some were just their skeletons.
"Gross." Liane muttered stepping accidentally on a meatless hand, cracking a bone.
"Cool." Bella added with a smirk, earning a glare from her mother removing a scarf from the clothes line.
Joshua plucked a sword from the dead guy on the ground and grinned, "Sweet. You think he got money too on him?"
Liane gasped in disgust, "Ah no! Yuck, put that down. Both of you!"
"Not a chance." Bella said finding a satchel on the ground too.
Jeremy smirked holding back at his laugh at Liane's facial expressions while the kids collected items. Nikolai noticed there were no food nor water nearby, deciding him and Jeremy would go out to get some. Joshua perked up, wanting to go to but his father said otherwise.
"I'm not a kid, you know." Josh muttered standing up from the ground, lazily flipping the sword.
"You're 16 and somewhere you don't know. Think again." Nikolai responded before walking over.
"Hey! I can handle this, it's a walk."
"I know that but I need someone to watch the girls."
"Then have Jeremy do it."
"Not when Liane is dazed and Bella is barely talking. I need you to do this for me."
"Bella can handle herself. And so can-"
"Joshua Christopher Nolan, that's enough. You stay here."
That seemed to silence the young brunette, having never heard his full name before until now. He nodded then walked back to his post, sitting on one of the benches watching Liane rest and Bella examine the items she found. Joshua noticed Bella giving him a small squeeze on his shoulder, a little stunned herself.
With that men walked out of the campsite without saying a word. Jeremy had a lot on his mind but he knew he had to say something, even if it sounded humorous.
So, after a moment, the blonde spoke.
Tumblr media
Jeremy looked over his shoulder as he followed his oldest friend saying, "That was harsh."
"He kept pushing." Nikolai replied with a sour look on his face, but his friend could tell something was deeper than that.
"And? Look, Nik, we're all stressed here but he wanted to help."
"He is helping. He's watching over the girls. I need him to watch over the girls while we get supplies."
"Why? More hands could be a lot more helpful."
"BECAUS—because, I need him safe. I know theses woods, anything can help and I can't return home knowing he let him get hurt."
"He—Joshua has lived without you for years, he won't..w-what is going on?"
"I lost him twice already, man..I won't let it happen again."
"The first time wasn't your fault."
"And the second time?"
"Nik.."
"Sorry. I don't want to fail as a father..like I failed as his friend."
Jeremy gave Nikolai a smile that said 'you won't'. His friend half smile at that, still feeling the weight over his shoulders but kept moving forward. Hell, Jeremy was trying to balance his feelings here, his niece and nephew were here, basically unskilled and his husband was back in their world probably freaking the heck out.
Better yet, drinking until he returned.
---
With the two adults gone, leaving one dazed and half alert, Bella was secretly losing it. Her mother was in and out of sleep, tired and a little dizzy, and Bella blames herself. If she hadn't told her to go to the diner, she wouldn't have ended up in the hospital in a small coma, under a sleeping curse.
Liane was still in her daze having tried not to fall asleep once again, but failed to do so. She was napping instead meanwhile Bella and Joshua were on watch time. It wasn't so bad.
The two friends chatted a bit, letting the other know what was going on in their heads. Bella admired how stiff her friend was acting, as she fit just as out of place as he was. However she was more in awe of the wonders in the land.
It was way different than the books.
She lean against the tree and said, "It feels like a dream..."
"Seriously?" Joshua asked with humor in his tone, holding down his gun for safety reason.
"Well yeah. Let's face it, I would have liked it in a different circumstances but still..you don't seem that excited."
"I..I am. It's cool, but we're out of our wheelhouse here, Belle..what if we don't make it back in time."
"In time for what?"
"I don't know. Maybe something weird happens in the town and we're not there to see it."
"That's what our parents and uncles..and well, aunts are there for. We just need to keep a level head."
Tumblr media
Joshua smiled at that, "Yeah, you're right, it would be nice to see the ponds and forest life here..or visit the lake our parents escaped in once."
"You read the book?" Bella replied jokingly around a bit, "I thought you said you don't read."
"Maybe I read a little..and the book was right about one thing."
"And what would that be?"
"Our parents being protective and..a little dramatic."
He pointed over to Liane half asleep with her face on the wooden table, snoring away flinching her nose a bit and humming a tune. She was sorta humming Taylor Swift in her sleep. That cause Bella to snort and quietly chuckle.
"Yeah you're right about that.." Bella responded but was cut off mid-breathe as the tip of a sword rested against her neck.
Her eyes darted to the fair blonde women with a floral headband, blonde locks, a ashy blue dress and a dark lavender coat to match.
Joshua's eye widen in shock as he raised his hand held gun and scoffed, "Lay down your the sword, now."
His eyes whipped around to notice anyone else came along, catching the eye on a figure rushing behind him over to the benches. The figure carried herself was grace and pondering eyes, dark red hair and a sliver lined skirt to add to her look. She held in her hand a dagger inching over to them.
"Not another step." Joshua declared, darting his gun between both the blonde and redhead.
The redhead scoffed, facing her dagger in front of the brunette as she held a smirk. But her eyes were fixed on Liane.
Bella glared trying to inch her neck away from the blonde who faced her, with a dumbfounded look plucking her sword a little closer.
Yup, they were in trouble.
Having feelings for both Jeremy and Kol, you're are friend's with both of them, are human. You distant yourself from them but they want to know why cuz they don't like it. Reader always tries to stay busy since her feelings grow for both of them. -I'll let you decide if you want one, both or none to feel the same way or however you think is best to go- Thank you so much.
The Further I Go | Kol Mikaelson x Jeremy Gilbert x Reader
my masterlist ↪M A S T E R L I S T
warning ↪ reader is the youngest salvatore sibling.
Tumblr media
I heard Kol and Jeremy like Y/n Y/l/n those were the words that made me want to die. Two good ex-friends both like me, one a vampire hunter and the other an original vampire.
It had been going on for months, the constant impressions and taking me out. Almost felt forced like it was a competition and I didn't like them both which made things hard for me because it was like I had to make a choice between the both of them.
"Y/n" Jeremy smiles walking into our class together "Are you going to the Mikaelson ball?" he asked me, shit.
I had forgotten about the Mikaelson ball, Kol had invited me a few weeks ago but I had never responded to his invitation because of Jeremy.
"Uh yeah I did hear about it." I say focusing on my history work, which was easier now more than ever thanks to stupid vampires and vampire hunters being in love with me.
"Would you like to go with me?" he asked "I'd prefer to go by myself." I say sweetly, it's not like I hated Jeremy but I didn't like him all too well.
You see, unlike Kol, Jeremy found fault in his 'opponent' the age gap, the murderous soul and retched family. It wasn't like Jeremy was all to perfect despite his whole life being fed to him in spoonfuls.
"Kol beat me?" he says quietly, Kol's name rung in everybody's ear. Almost like they knew who he was already just by hearing his name "well given i tried to go to whitmore, only to be followed by you both, then move back here and you both follow me again. No, it isn't the Mikaelson. I need free drinks." I say standing up and walking off
"I don't get payed at all for this you know, cut it out." I huff looking back up to our teacher who had been talking about history for that past hour.
"you don't get payed at all." Jeremy snickers "you're right, i need to. I put up with both or your bullshit, inside and outside of school." I mumble tapping my pen against the desk, waiting for the bell to save me and leave the school for the rest of the day.
Looking up at the clock, watching the arms move slower than usual.
Then everyone stands up "was that the bell? I didn't even hear it?" I say confused packing my stuff up "probably because you're good at ignoring things." jeremy chuckles "I can take you home?" he asks and I shake my head "I'm fine, thanks." I smile.
Rushing out of the classroom, waiting for Damon to pick me up from school "Y/N" a very familiar, not damon voice yells and I roll my eyes realising it was the only other person from Jeremy that I didn't want to speak to.
"Damon and Stefan are Busy with Niklaus and Elijah, So I figured why not pick you up myself." He continues yelling as I cross the street over to him getting in the car "I'm doing this because my house is too far from here." sighing, buckling myself up.
"How was your day?" he asks and I shrug "Jeremy wanted to take me to that stupid thing you guys are holding, he thought you asked me before him." I sigh not looking at him as he starts the car.
"Well I find it funny, which lover will you chose." Kol laughs to himself "it's not funny, its a vampire hunter or a vampire, an original one at that." I glare at him before looking back out the window.
"You promised not to see me until the party anyways." I was slightly annoyed at the Mikaelson, I had sworn to him last week that I didn't want to see his face "Well Damon didn't know about your vow to stab me with a pencil if you saw me again." he laughs.
"Besides, i'm only dropping you back off to your brothers before I go on a hike with Niklaus, you think this body just stays in shape all the time." he jokes around and I laugh "given you were daggered for a century, I think you're fine." I mumble.
"I'm fine?" he questions me and I nod "fine, nothing more, nothing less."
We arrive home, and he was right, no one was home.
"Right back to ignoring me I assume?" he says as I exit the car, nodding "Yep." I chuckle "theres a chuckle, i think I even got a laugh from you in this car." he says and I slam the car door in his face, he winds my window down "why do you ignore me?" he asks.
"Like I said, Vampire Hunter, Vampire. Who to choose? Myself." I smile to him as he nods before I walk into my house hearing his car leave the driveway.
My phone rings and I answer it immediately "you seriously agreed to KOL dropping me off. Damon what the fu-" "hold on y/n, i have a reason. Klaus and Elijah have a solid plan, I know that the little Mikaelson has a crush on you so I knew that he wouldn't hurt you." Damon cuts me off.
"I also know there little Gilbert would have offered but since you and Kol have chemistry I'd assume that you wanted to ride home with him-" "chemistry, are you stupid I'm trying to avoid them... BOTH." I cut off my oldest brother "And How was I suppose to know?" he asks.
"I don't know, but don't just assume because I have chemistry with someone that I want a ride home from them." I hiss angrily before hanging up on Damon and racing up to my bedroom.
Throwing my bag on my bed, laying down next to it. Damon's words repeat in my mind 'you and Kol have chemistry', I suppose we did. Not in the way Damon was insinuating be we still had chemistry.
But I tried so hard to stay away from him, and every time he just came back.
Sure, Jeremy and I had something but to me it was nothing more than friends, no chemistry we only shared interests.
Kol is different, I think I've known that for longer than I'd like to admit. Yet, the further I go from the both of them only one seems to come back and its the one I don't want to come back the most, Kol.
Kol Bloody Mikaelson.
But Jeremy... is technically dating Bonnie. Well, I suppose he isn't but they have a thing too, when he isn't with me anyway.
I mean it had only been a week of me trying to distance myself from them, I had been failing with Jeremy because of School but Kol's appearance was random and not my fault.
No this can't happen.
Sitting up on my bed, taking my bag off of my bed and emptying all the things I need before putting it on my door handle. I'll keep myself occupied, keep myself in this house until the Mikaelson's leave and until Jeremy gets with Bonnie.
the next day
"Y/N?" A british voice yells from outside my balcony, no, no, no.
It's only been a day, this can't be. "Y/N!" this voice continues from outside. "Y/n, i think someone is waiting for you." Stefan yells from the stairs "It's nobody" I yell back.
Continuing to fold my clothes the door opens "Mikaelson is here." Jeremy says, alright so maybe Jeremy was ok. He wasn't the one I was trying to preserve my feelings for.
"I know, don't let him in my room." I huff placing my folded clothes in my drawers, distracting myself by grabbing a book off of my shelf and reading it at my desk, Jeremy leaves and the voice continues yelling from outside.
"Why exactly am I not allowed inside?" he questions softly, I listen closely as my ears were damaged from hearing Elena and Damon all night.
"Because, she doesn't want you here exactly." Jeremy said softly "or is it because you want her to yourself?" Ko'ls attitude heightened, I knew he got pissed off easily but that was quick because I heard his fangs come out a few seconds after his question.
"KOL" I yell out "Leave Jeremy alone, he's just doing what I told him to do." I say looking down at him "well why?" Kol asks softly, his veins going back into his anger issued body "I'm testing a theory, which I obviosuly can't stand by if you're here trying to kill my sister-in-laws brother, which I suppose in a way is my brother" I say stranged out by my sentence.
"They aren't married." Kol says weirded out by what I just said "right, but anyways you can't come over." I say to him as he throws his arms up "Well why is that?" he asks me "you know I can just jump up there." he mumbles "I know you can, but I know that you respect me enough to respect my wishes." I smile to him and he sighs and nods.
"I guess I'll hang out with Elijah and Niklaus, good fun." he groans.
Continuing on with my book I hear his car start, something in me doesn't let him leave.
"Kol" I rush out of my balcony and he pokes his head out of the window "Yeah?" he says "Come inside." I mumble to him.
"He did ask you to the ball, didn't he?" Jeremy says at my door and I turn to him "No, Jer he didn't." I say "But you like him." Jeremy says and I bite my lip.
I had only figured that out yesterday, but if Jeremy could see it then I realise that it must be true. So I nod and he nods back almost like he accepted his fate long before it was shown to him.
"It's just the further I go from you both, it seems that he always seems to come back and not make it awkward. Besides you have bonnie." I smile to him and he nods.
50 Facts About My Mockingbird FNAF AU
TW:ABUSE MENTION//SH//DEATH
#1: The crying child’s name is Evan. Out of the names I’ve seen most commonly, I just liked Evan the most.
#4: William's favorite child is Elizabeth, however Mrs. Afton doesn’t play favorites.
#4: Michael has a small birthmark under his collarbone on his right shoulder that looks like a heart.
#5: I accidentally wrote Lauren and CG5 into this AU because both CG5’s FNAF songs and Lauren’s sister location sims series were the two most frequent things I watched while writing.
#6: Astrid is a reused character. I originally wrote her into a different fnaf AU of mine.
#7: Evan is the only living Afton child.
#8: Henry is such a good dad man istg. Like he parents Charlie along with being there for the Afton kids.
#9: The missing children aren’t really vengeful. They’re just fucking morons who like to goof off and annoy the crap out of Evan and Henry
#37: Michael doesn’t cry often. When Evan found his older brother crying on the bathroom floor it genuinely terrified him. This was also when he learned about Michaels self harm, though he didn’t understand it until he got older.
#38: William doesn’t straight up beat the shit out of his family, but they’ve each gotten punched or slapped by him while they were alive on multiple occasions
#39: Astrid started using the phrase “gotta look your prettiest when you feel your shittiest” after she and Fritz forced Michael to let them do his hair and give him a facial.
#40: Jeremy’s favorite song is “As It Was”
#41: This takes place in the late 1900s however some modern songs are brought up
#42: Gregory is two years younger than Evan and looks up to him as a mentor.
#43: Elizabeth used to look up to Charlie as she was one of the only female role models in her life.
#44: Fritz and Astrid are twins.
#45: William has been springlocked twice.
#46: Fritz wants to be a writer and often asks Evan to tell him stories of his childhood so he can write them down. Gregory loves listening in on this, though he’ll never admit it.
#47: Evan is really good at cooking.
#48: Both Michael and Evan have inherited their fathers genes however Michael has light freckles on his face and arms like his mother.
#49: Sun and Moon scare the shit out of Jeremy and Evan. Gregory and Michael think this is the funniest thing.
#50: Death order- Clara, Elizabeth, Michael, William. Evans still alive <3
A yoga retreat on Wuhu Island
There’s something about Wuhu Island that makes you feel energized, like you can take on the world by storm. I’m by far not an athletic person but there’s something about the environment here that makes me want to get up and get a good workout in. I’d say the calming scenery contributes to that as it’s the perfect place to go hiking, biking, gliding, jogging - you name it.
It’s been a couple years since I last visited and if I recall, the island hasn’t changed too much, which is a good thing. By luck, us campers managed to reserve a bunch of seats for the yoga retreat, which is no easy feat as those fill up quickly. That’s part of the reason why we haven’t been back in so long - I mean, Wuhu is a popular vacation spot for good reason.
Along with us campers, Arabeth and Elaina also managed to snag a reservation for themselves. I haven’t hung out with them in forever so it was nice to run into them on the plane. It’s been nice catching up with them while running around the island.
I’m glad that Elaina and her family’s in good spirits. She says a part of her still kinda finds it hard to believe that her mother’s gone but at least she went peacefully. The last time I saw Qing was at her final public performance at Briar Woodwinds a few years ago and that was an amazing experience. Since then she enjoyed a quiet retirement. Then a couple months ago her health took a turn for the worse and she passed away with her family by her side after a brief hospital stay.
After hearing of Qing’s passing, I’ve been on a binge listening to her music. It’s amazing to look back on her life in terms of her music and family. She’s lived a good life and in the end, that’s what matters the most. I may not be able to leave behind a legacy like Qing, but I hope to live a fulfilled life with little regrets.
A couple weeks ago, Elaina and Chris released one last song from Qing, her swan song. Earlier this year Chris and the boys were helping Qing go through some old stuff when they came across a demo tape from about twenty years ago. One of the tracks was a song written by Qing’s friend that was somehow shelved or forgotten until it was rediscovered. With next year marking 60 years since Qing began her recording career, it seemed like a good idea to surprise fans with one last song.
Taking Flight indeed is a swan song, and a very fitting one at that. The lyrics sound so bittersweet, they’re the words of someone who knows the end is near and wants to reassure their loved ones that everything’s gonna be all right. When the song came out I had been listening to it on a loop because for some reason the message just hit me.
No matter how far and wide we fly, we always leave a part of ourselves behind - memories, stories, music, sorrows - and those are what carry us through time. With that in mind, no one can truly be forgotten. I’d like to think that I could leave something behind, even if only for those who truly knew me, because it would mean at least I made an impact on someone.
Elaina admits that some days are better than others, as expected when going through a loss, but she’s doing well. The fact that her mom wasn’t in any pain and was able to say goodbye to her family is more than enough. That’s good to hear and I’m sure that makes things a lot easier for her and Chris.
As for the rest of the family, they’re doing fine too. David still vlogs on a semi-regular basis while also working freelance so I can still keep up with the occasional Allegri family antics. Even though they are aunt and nephew, they have this chaotic sibling vibe that’s interesting to see. As for Chris, aside from being a literal dad to David, he does sometimes kinda serve as a second parent figure to Elaina despite their small age gap. Though Chris often comes across as the most serious Allegri, they’re all a bit chaotic in their own way and that’s part of their charm.
David’s brothers, Danny and Jeremy have been doing their own thing, which Elaina finds kinda hard getting used to since she’s used to seeing the twins together. They started drifting apart when Jeremy decided to go to Oxford and from the looks of it, he’s probably gonna stay after graduating next year. She kinda suspected that after his first semester, something that Chris won’t admit that he isn’t too happy about but is happy for his son nonetheless. As for Danny, he dropped out of community college after one year so he’s been working odd jobs since then. Chris was fine with him taking one year off but now it’s way past that he’s insisting that Danny either go back to school or find a more stable job. Elaina’s been trying to help but that’s been easier said than done.
Angie has taken after Elaina and Qing in terms of her love for music and being a ray of sunshine. Elaina showed me clips of various performances from school plays, concerts, and recitals and Angie really does steal the show. She’s already looking into places like Starling and Julliard so that’s amazing! Elaina said that she sees a lot of her mother in Angie, even more so now that she’s gone. Being the youngest, and the closest to her grandma, Angie was hit a lot harder by her death, but she too is carrying on. There’s no doubt that musical talent runs in the family.
Arabeth’s doing fine as well, busy as usual with dance and helping Lawton with the younger kids. It took a bit of time for Lawton to get back into the swing of things considering how unpredictable the schedule of a pilot can be, but he’s adjusting well and the older kids help out whenever they can. I remember how Lawton was considering going back to work on a part time basis now that Saige, the youngest, is in school, but had his doubts for various reasons. Luckily he has Chris, who went through a similar transition, to guide him on what difficulties to expect and how to avoid running yourself into the ground.
I can’t imagine working a job where you have to travel half the time while raising a family as a single parent, so Chris and Lawton have my respect. As much as I enjoy traveling, I don’t think I’d want to be on the go most of the time, especially if I’m the one responsible for making sure a bunch of people get to their intended destination in time.
Lawton’s eldest, Mallory and Skylar are in college - Mallory commutes from home while Skylar is abroad. Erisy is starting to look into colleges, particularly athletic scholarships as some universities have been taking an interest in her. Rockwell and Saige have taken after their aunt as they enjoy dancing.
Arabeth had admitted that she was hesitant about her brother going back to work, but now that the kids are older and have busy schedules, it doesn’t really make sense for Lawton to just sit at home. Saige, as expected, had a bit of a hard time to adjusting when her dad’s not home at first but now she’s used to it, and it’s not like Lawton’s gone for long - a couple days at the most, so it’s not a big deal. As for whether he’ll take on international flights again, that’s still up for debate, at least for another couple years, but according to Arabeth he’s completely fine with just domestic flights. Chris, on the other hand, has fully transitioned into full time earlier this year, and Elaina says his hours thankfully aren’t too crazy.
Yoga at the park has been a lot of fun! I think the chill atmosphere contributes to that as there’s no pressure to get it right the first time. The instructors are super helpful and they let everyone do things at their own pace, which I’m happy about. I know it’s good to have some sort of exercise routine but honestly I can’t be bothered. However if I were ever to try doing something like a daily workout I feel like yoga would be the way to go.
Even though I’m not a morning person, I’d say the 7am classes have been worth the hassle. Doing yoga early in the morning has awakened my mind and body, so I feel great afterwards. In fact, being on the island in general has made me feel more energized and well rested than usual, so I feel like I get a lot more accomplished in a day. Like I said, there’s a reason why Wuhu’s a popular sports resort, especially for those who aren’t really into athletics.
The lack of pressure to be good at something really is freeing. I’m no perfectionist but I am the kind of person who tends to steer away from something if I feel like I’m not good enough and people are gonna judge me for that. Aside from not being too interested in sports, I also lack athletic ability, and being aware of that while having that being pointed out to you as a flaw that must be fixed is a good way of shutting someone down.
Over the years I’ve learned not to judge myself based on skills, something that a lot of people are in the process of unlearning. Sure it’s nice to learn something and be good at it, but you shouldn’t get too wrapped up about it. You may not be good at something but you still enjoy it nonetheless. Shouldn’t that count for something if it makes you happy? It’s not easy but it really is a lot freeing to let go and not be tied down by what you think is expected of you.
After yoga, Daisy Jane, Arabeth, Elaina, and I just do whatever strikes our fancy. Today happened to be running around a giant obstacle course. Out of the four, I came out last, though I wasn’t too far behind Daisy Jane. I’d like to think all my years of hiking has helped me out as there was quite a bit of climbing involved. Also, the point of the obstacle course is to see how creative you can be rather than speed and agility, so that made it more fun.
(Now I’m starting to get ideas for our next big camp event…Knowing Isabelle, building a giant obstacle course at the campsite isn’t impossible.)
Other fun activities we did were wind gliding, mountain biking, kickboxing, diving, water skiing, and tennis. Again, I wasn’t very good at most of these but it was an enjoyable experience. There’s just so much to do on Wuhu Island that it can get a bit overwhelming, so we try not to take on too much. So it’s one big activity and the rest is mostly chill.
Like last time, I think my biking is my favorite activity on the island. There’s so much to see and it always changes depending on what activities are going on at the moment. I wasn’t one of those kids who rode their bike around the neighborhood - I just wasn’t good at riding a bike in general - so to pick up biking as an adult feels different. Somehow biking as an adult is more enjoyable - probably because as a kid I was kinda pressured to get into it because it was a kid thing. Again not the best at it, but at least I can go at my own pace and not feel self conscious about it.
We’re about halfway through the yoga class now and I’m already starting to miss Wuhu. Tomorrow after class we’re gonna go bowling and then attend a dance class. The weather’s also gonna be a lot warmer so we’re gonna head to the beach too.
Secret of the Sundrop VS Cassandra's Revenge Analysis
Alright, I'm going to get into this and why it makes me so frustrated because it points out the favoritism is the show so SO clearly.
First let's outline the similarities between the episodes: hostage situation, awesome Jeremy Jordan song, Rapunzel magic hair-ing her way out of the problem, climax is triggered when someone Rapunzel loves is threatened.... And I think that's it and even in those things, there are differences.
This is going to have some Anti-Ranpuzel and Anti-Cass stuff in it too so if you don't want to interact with that stop right here.
Hostage Treatment.
Okay so let's start with SotS. Varian uses a sleeping gas to incapacitate an enabler in his abuse, Queen Arianna. He doesn't restrain her other than rope around her wrists and eventually a chain on hey ankle. Until he threatens to encase her in a magical cage, there's no evidence that Varian hurt her any further until the climax (more on that later)
Now with CR, it's a very different case. Cass is implied to have assaulted a 15/16 year old who had nothing to do with her grievances except he had information she wanted, in order to get him unconscious. Then in order to the get the information she wanted, she forcefed a liquid that's been proven to be volatile down his throat and it is framed as a torture session. Even further, when the 15/16 year old tries to reach out to Cass, she throws him across the room with a bunch of blunt unbreakable rocks to get body multiple times and actually encases him in a magical cage and dangles him out of a window.
Reasoning for the Adult/Kidnapping
For Varian, it was motivation for Rapunzel to actually keep her promise and help him. He's asked for her help a total of three times previous (QfaD, QfV, RotA), the last one ending in Rapunzel proving that she'd rather not upset her father than help him. It was a last resort driven by desperation, anger and grief to free his only family.
For Cassandra, it's uhhhh.... Complicated? First it was for the translation of the demanitus scroll to further her own power and then, um? I'm not quite sure? Is it to draw Rapunzel in to fight her and show she's stronger? Then why wouldn't she let her in right away? I have no idea why she would hang onto him and tell him to wait for her to come for him and then not let Rapunzel into her tower. I'm so confused.
How the Main Characters Treat the Situation
In the Secret of the Sundrop, in hearing about how Varian had kidnapped Arianna in order to get Rapunzel to help him; everyone treats it very seriously. Strategizing, forming mobs and sharpening weapons are all happening while Varian prepares to defend himself against an entire kingdom coming to fight him for taking their queen. It's nerve wracking, it's dramatic, and the atmosphere is very very serious.
In Cassandra's Revenge, it's so different it frustrates me so much. Rapunzel is more worried about how Varian being kidnapped might ruin her proposal to Eugene and the rest of them are joking and teasing each other. There's so strategy planning, they didn't seem to take any weapons or defense mechanisms with them and the slapstick humor outweighs any kind of serious atmosphere from such a scary situation. Even upon finding the hostage trapped, Eugene and Rapunzel are too occupied with the rings they were going to propose to each other with than the kid who relied on them to save him.
Before, During, and After Climax
Varian figures out their plan. There's no reasoning involved, no trying to get Varian to back down or just talking to him just an exchange of threats. In order to give Rapunzel the ultimatum it would take to get her to help him, he threatens to magically imprison her mom. Rapunzel gives in and let's him use her hair to try and free his dad. It hurts Rapunzel and it's not working, so he stops and has a mental breakdown. There's a kingdom on his doorstep prepared to kill him. His father isn't free. Rapunzel and her family are reunited and the king made it very clear what he would do to him. He's devasted, angry, in denial, grieving and has literally nothing else to lose; he's already a dead kid in the eyes of the kingdom. He crawls into his Mecha and rages against his abusers, trying to take out everyone he can to make them feel what he's feeling. Once Rapunzel does her magic hair thing, Varian's arrested and Rapunzel puts his safety in her father's hands.
Throughout the entire episode Varian and Rapunzel both try to reason with her, talk to her about not having to do this because she has other options. Cass refuses both times and attempts to instigate Rapunzel to fight her. Unlike with Varian, she 'doesn't want to justify her hate' and refuses to fight. Which Cass then begins to crush Eugene with black rocks to inspire Rapunzel to fight her. And she does and wins, after which she expresses concern for the friend she lost (not the one they were supposed to be saving who had just fallen out of the tower during their magic fight) but the one who had hurt them throughout the entire episode.
Conclusion
The similarities and differences between these episodes paints a very uncomfortable and ugly picture: Varian was a big bad monster that needed to be stopped at all costs and Cass was just a lost friend who needed to be reached. This is what happens when the favoritism in the show messes with the character arcs and tone, messages are confusing, character's actions are confusing, and even more so does it make the show less tolerable to watch without throwing something at the screen.
MASTERLIST
author’s note: prompts list is coming at noon est today. i got it done earlier than friday so it’s going up today
another author’s note: “je t’aime” means “i love you” in french. “je t’adore” means “i adore you” in french
It happened so quickly. From the day you got engaged to Charlie until today took about three months. It happened quickly but you know that you want to spend the rest of your life with Charlie. You wouldn’t have said yes to his proposal if you didn’t want to spend the rest of your life with Charlie.
The fans know of your relationship with Charlie, even though you both have kept your relationship mostly out of the public eye. After a slip up or two from you both, fans caught on so you both confirmed your relationship to stop the speculation. Neither of you said anything about the engagement or about your pending wedding. You wear the engagement ring on your necklace while in public and on your finger when alone with Charlie or your friends or your family.
It’s not that you don’t want the fans to know, but you’re both 22-years-old and really young. There’s nothing wrong with getting married young but there are a lot of people with harsh opinions out there, and you’ve always been sensitive to harsh comments even though you’re an actress and singer.
So, you and Charlie decided to get married in the backyard of your childhood home, away from any prying eyes. Your parents still live there and the backyard has a beautiful view of the mountain range since your parents live very close to the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. The house is pretty big since your parents both make good money as doctors.
You get ready in your childhood bedroom. Your bridesmaids, who consist of Savannah and your sister, both stand in lilac colored gowns as Savannah curls your hair. She puts little white flowers throughout the curls to decorate the style a bit.
Your sister works on your makeup and you try to keep yourself composed. You’re marrying the love of your life today after a three month engagement but a four year relationship. You’ve waited so long for this day and it’s finally here. You can’t wait to say ‘I do’ to Charlie in a few moments.
“Okay,” Savannah says. “Hair is done.”
Your sister closes her eyeshadow palette and says, “And so is makeup. We’re ready for the dress.”
Curious, you open your eyes and look in the mirror. You smile at the sight. Your sister did a silver smokey eye look with a nude lip color. Your curls are loose with the little white flowers scattered throughout.
There’s a knock on the door as your sister lays the dress across your bed. Savannah goes and answers the door. “Mrs. L/N,” she says. “Come on in. We were about to put the dress on.”
You turn in your seat to see your mother in a light pink dress that ends at her knees. She wears a black belt around her waist and black heels. She smiles and when she smiles, you see yourself. You and your mother are practically twins. She holds a veil with a tiara on it.
“Wow,” your mother gasps. “You look so beautiful, darling.”
Your eyes are still on the veil with the tiara in her hands. “What’s that?” you ask.
She looks down and says, “Your something blue, something old, and something borrowed. There’s a little blue gem on the tiara. This veil was your grandmothers, mine, and now yours.”
Savannah takes the tiara from your mother, putting it in your hair and securing it with a bobby pin or two. “I love it,” you announce. “It’s beautiful.”
The girls in your room all smile at you. Your sister unzips the bag with the dress and says, “Okay. We have about twenty minutes before the ceremony begins so let’s go.”
The dress you bought is a white strapless mermaid style satin wedding dress, which means it hugs your body until it flares out at your knees. The fabric from your knees up is ruched, which makes it look bunched up in a way. A diamond belt sits on your waist to sparkle the dress up a bit.
You watch in the mirror as your sister works at tying up the dress behind you. The dress hugs your figure and shows off your curves.
“Look at you,” your mother says. “Charlie is a very lucky man.” You can hear your mother choking back a few tears.
With a little laugh, you say, “Please don’t cry because then I’ll cry.”
Your sister chimes in and says, “Please don’t ruin my masterpiece. I worked hard on that.”
All four of you in the room laugh when there’s another knock on your door. Your sister opens it. You look and see Owen in the doorway. “Everything’s ready when you are, Y/N. By the way, you look very pretty.”
“Thank you, Owen,” you say, smiling. “We’ll be down in a moment.” He nods and closes the door.
It’s a very small wedding. Your parents, older sister, older brothers, blood aunts, uncles, first cousins, grandparents, and their plus ones on your side. Charlie’s parents, younger sister, older brothers, blood aunts, uncles, first cousins, grandparents, and their plus ones on his side. Plus Owen, Jeremy, Savannah, Cheyenne, Booboo, Madison, Sacha, and several other cast members from Julie and the Phantoms that you and Charlie consider yourself close with were invited, plus their plus ones. There’s maybe fifty or so people here. Compared to the probably two hundred or so that would have come if you invited every single family member and friend the two of you have.
With a sigh, you leave the room with your mother, Sav, and your sister. You wait in the dining room. Owen, Jeremy, and your father wait in there already. You look out the window to see everyone making conversation in the backyard in their seats. The white arch decorated with flowers looks nice with the mountains as a backdrop. You can see Charlie speaking with the ordained minister that is officiating the wedding under the arch as he waits for you.
Your mother hugs you and says, “You look stunning, Y/N. This is your day. Enjoy it.”
“Thank you, momma,” you say, holding back tears of your own now. Your mom pulls back from the hug and kisses your nose. You smile and she walks away.
Jeremy pairs up with your sister and Owen pairs up with Savannah. Your father walks over with your bouquet of white and lilac roses. “You ready, Y/N?” You nod and look up at your father. He looks very nice in his suit and his hair neatly combed back.
The pairs begin to walk out and conversation dies down. Madison plays the piano because you asked and you thought it would make the day more special if she played you down the aisle.
Your father hooks his left arm with your right arm and begins to walk down the “aisle”. The aisle is a space between the two sections of seats decorated with white roses.
As you walk, your eyes are on Charlie. He has a big smile on his face as he watches you. His hair is in his naturally wavy state and he’s clean shaven. He looks handsome in his suit and tie with a little bouquet of white flowers pinned to his jacket. You can see his big eyes full of happy tears, which spill onto his cheeks even though he tries to hold them back.
When you get to the arch, your father hands you away to Charlie. Mads stops playing when you’re both under the arch and you hand your bouquet back to your sister.
The minister begins, “Dearly beloved, we are gathered here to celebrate the love of these two people. If there is some reason to why these two should not be wed, speak up now or forever hold your peace.”
Your eyes don’t leave Charlie’s as no one objects. The minister continues, “If the bride and groom have any vows, they can speak now.”
“I have a few things I’d like to say,” you say, smiling at Charlie. The minister nods and you continue speaking. “Charlie, we met five years ago. We were there for each other before either of us found real fame. I promised you when we started dating that I would be there for you after either of us found real fame. This is me renewing that promise. I promise to love you, to trust you, to be with you forever no matter what. I promise to support any role that you take, or don’t take. I promise to be there for you when you get frustrated at anything, and I promise to love you through your worst days.”
Charlie sniffles a bit and the crowd “awes”. Your fiancé smiles and says, “I don’t know how to top that but here we go. Y/N, je t'aime. Je t’adore. There are so many ways to tell you that I love you and that I adore you in every way possible, but there are not enough ways to tell you that I love and adore you. We met five years ago and I knew then that I’d be standing here with you. I knew that you were the woman I was going to marry one day. We’ve been together for four years now, and I have never taken any day out of the past four years for granted. We’ve created so many memories together. We’ve recently been creating music together. I’m going to be super cheesy when I say it but I’m going to say it anyway. No music is worth making, Y/N, if I’m not making it with you. No memory is worth making, Y/N, if I’m not making it with you. No regrets. Je t’aime, I love you.”
You were able to hold it together until Charlie pulled out the “no music is worth making” line. You loved that line when he said it in the show, and he just pulled it out as he said his vows. You grow antsy, wanting to kiss him already.
The minister says, “Okay, the rings.” Owen pulls them out of his suit pocket. Of course Charlie had to give Owen the rings.
“Repeat after me, Y/N,” the minister says. You nod. “I, Y/N L/N, take thee Charles Gillespie to be my lawfully wedded husband in sickness and in health, til death do us part.”
With a smile on your face, you say, “I, Y/N L/N, take thee Charles Gillespie to be my lawfully wedded husband in sickness and in health, til death do us part.”
You slide Charlie’s silver band onto his left ring finger. The minister says, “Your turn, Charlie. Repeat after me. I, Charles Gillespie, take thee Y/N L/N to be my lawfully wedded wife in sickness and in health, til death do us part.”
Charlie states into your eyes and repeats, “I, Charles Gillespie, take thee Y/N L/N to be my lawfully wedded wife in sickness and in health, til death do us part.”
He slides your silver band onto your left ring finger. Your engagement ring is on your right ring finger.
The minister says, “With the power invested in me by the state of Pennsylvania, I pronounce you husband and wife. Charlie, you may kiss your bride.”
Charlie doesn’t hesitate after that. He cups your face in his hands and pulls your lips to his. The crowd cheers as you seal the wedding with a kiss.
***
The backyard is quickly turned into a reception area with a tent and everything. You don’t ever leave Charlie’s side the whole night.
You have your first dance with Charlie as a married couple, dancing to Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. This was the song you both first danced to when you started dating so to come full circle, you made it your wedding song.
Your head is on his chest as he holds you in his arms. He looks down at you and says, “You look absolutely gorgeous, Y/N. I don’t think I’ve told you that enough times tonight.”
“Just because you can be cheesy, don’t mean you always should be,” you say, looking up at your new husband.
Charlie says, “Well, then to make it less cheesy, I think you look beautiful but you’ll look even more beautiful when that dress is on the floor and you’re underneath me naked.”
You playfully hit his shoulder and say, “Charles Gillespie. Now is not the time for sexual jokes.”
He smirks and says, “You married me. You’ll be hearing them all the time now.”
With a laugh from you both, you lean up and press a light kiss to Charlie’s lips. Both of you share these types of kisses all through the night, until you’re alone in your hotel room in Paris for your two-week long honeymoon.
*Part 2*
Tumblr media
You had been with Klaus for a long time but he never travelled with his family barring his sister Rebekah, so you had never met them before. That all changed very quickly because they had all been brought back, it was another plan by your father and the rest to bring down Klaus but that didn’t go the way that they planned either, eventually you forged a relationship with each of them, they all loved you and for a moment you thought felt like part of a family again. Each of them acting a sibling to you, Rebekah like a protective sister, Kol a fun brother, Elijah a logical and strict brother and Finn the brother that watched from afar and stepped in where needed.
However this came falling down around you when Elena and Jeremy killed Kol and forced you to watch as his body burn, since you hadn’t been invited into the house there was no way for you to help him, tears filled your eyes as you screamed in anger. Memories pushing through your mind of him teaching you how to play pool for the first time, messing with Rebekah, hiding one of Elijah’s ties, all things that you’d never be able to do again. Your hand pressed against the magical barrier “I’ll kill you hunter.” You warned “watch your back, I’ll stab you in it.”
From there you teamed up with Katherine and waited until they found the cure, you followed them to the island and when the time was right you did exactly what you said you would, you appeared behind Jeremy stabbing him in the back, you smirked as Elena cried out and Katherine came over and ripped his throat open throwing him over the Silas body as you walked over to crouch next to Bonnie “be sure to let them know I was here yeah?” you asked as you stood up, she grabbed at your ankle effectively stopping you for a second. “Yes?” “Please, save him.” She pleaded and you looked at Jeremy who had now been grabbed by Silas. “That sounds like an act of mercy and he had no mercy for Kol.” You answered as you shook her hand off and disappeared from sight.
-Months Later-
You went back to your mothers grave, you sat in front of her grave, legs crossed “I think I’ve found a place thatI can stay now. I met Dad and I can’t stay with him, he caused everything that happened to us… To you, I wish I had known about all of this vampire stuff when you were sick maybe you’d still be here with me. Klaus looks after me now and he wants me to stay with him, I think… It doesn’t matter, I’ll be loyal to him and his family for as long as I live, they’ve given me everything and I’ll give you the same.” You explained softly as you leaned forward and placing a lily on the grave “I don’t know if I’ll be able to come back, Rebekah said that Klaus had gone off to New Orleans and dragged Elijah into whatever trouble there, we’re going to go and make sure that he’s okay… Apparently there’s a baby that needs protecting.” You pushed yourself up off the floor and walked back to the car. “Ready?” Rebekah asked and you nodded. “Let’s go.” You said.
When you got to New Orleans Rebekah caused a scene and you met the mum of the baby, someone that had been in Mystic Falls before, Hayley. Klaus called you into a room once the fighting was done. “Did she bring you here?” He asked. “Well yeah… But I didn’t come here because I thought you were up to something, figured you might want someone you could trust around.” You shrugged. “Tell me what to do and I’ll do it.” “I know.” He answered carefully as he watched you. “I will need your complete loyalty.” “I’ll give you nothing less.” You said “I owe my life to you.” Klaus nodded with a small smile as he pointed to the door. “Look after her, keep her and the baby safe by any means necessary.” He ordered and you nodded. “Of course.” You answered, walking out of the room to properly meet the woman you had been put in charge of protecting.
Reader’s POV
Jeremy and I have been the best of friends ever since the day I was born. He might be my older brother, but I’ve always considered him more like my best friend. We used to play games together when we were younger where I’d pretend to be a princess and he was the knight protecting my castle from dragons and dangerous monsters. Or, when we were in a swimming pool, I’d pretend to be a mermaid and he was my dolphin. We played so many pretend games, I’d lost track of most of them. When we got older and made a lot of new friends, we still tried to take at least one night in the week where we’d spend time together, whether it was watching movies together or jamming or just chatting about absolute nonsense or going out together. I even got to be his best (wo)man when he married Carolynn about a month ago, and we’ve been calling each other non-stop since he started this new project of his with Netflix called Julie and The Phantoms. I helped him prepare for his audition and was equally as excited as he was when he got it. This role was written for him. Though, when bootcamp and filming started, it did mean I’d have to miss him for a very long time since he was all the way in Vancouver for months on end. So, now I’ve come up with the idea to go and visit him and Carolynn in Canada. I’d called Carolynn to help me out and surprise him. She picked me up from the airport just a few minutes ago, and as we’re catching up in the car, I can’t help but feel giddy at seeing my brother again. It feels ages since I’ve last seen him at his wedding. That’s also when I saw the rest of the cast last. Jeremy had introduced me to the ones that were at the party, and I loved hanging out with them. It felt like being introduced to one big family that quickly became part of my own family. That was one fun night, but that’s all it was. One night of spending time with all these people and then never hearing or seeing them again. To be fair, they were all really busy with rehearsals and filming and everything. “Are you ready?” Carolynn asks when we’re at the door of their Vancouver apartment. “Yes!” I reply in a hushed voice, just to make sure Jeremy doesn’t hear me. Carolynn unlocks the door and walks in first, I follow suit. My eyes dart around quickly to take in as much as possible before the two of us turn a corner to the living room here Jeremy’s on the couch, watching something on the tv. “What’re you watching, bro?” His head snaps up at the sound of my voice, his eyes widening as he takes in my presence. “No way!” he exclaims as he gets up quickly and rushes over to me, taking me in his arms in a bone-crushing hug. “I can’t believe you’re here!” he mumbles in my ear as he twirls me around. “I wanted to surprise you,” I tell him as he puts me down again, taking my hands in his instead. “I don’t go back to college until like next week, so I figured, why not?” I’m overexplaining again, I know it. Jeremy doesn’t care how I’m here, he just cares that I’m here. “You wanna come to Set with me today?” he asks with this sparkle in his eyes he only gets when he’s really excited about something. “I’m sure the others would love to see you again!” I can’t help the smile tugging at my lips as I think about how much fun they all were at the wedding. There’s no denying that I’d love to see them again too. So, I nod my head eagerly, earning an excited squeal from the boy in front of me. “The driver will be here in half an hour, you need some time to freshen up after your flight?” “Yes, please!” Carolynn guides me to the bathroom where she puts out a pair of towels for me. I shoot her a thankful smile and when she’s out of the bathroom, I get into the shower. Once I’m all dressed and ready to go, the driver is already in front of the building. “Hey, Darren,” Jeremy greets as he gets in. “My little sister’s coming with me today.” He buckles himself into the seat as I do the same. “Hi, I’m Y/N, it’s nice to meet you,” I say to the driver. He gives me a kind smile through the rearview mirror, letting out a small ‘hi’. He must not be very talkative. “What scenes are you filming today?” I ask my brother instead whilst the driver heads down to the next stop. “I think there’s a gig scene we’re filming today,” he answers, and the car comes to a standstill. “We’ve got about ten more minutes before Charlie and Owen head down. You want some coffee?” My eyes bulge out of their sockets at the thought of caffeine alone. I’ve been up for so long, I could use a good shot of wakeup-juice. “Guess that’s a yes. Let’s go!” he lets out a chuckle before getting out of the car with me in tow. “Do I need to remember anything I can or can’t do on set?” I ask the only thought that’s been haunting my mind since coming up with this idea. I knew he was going to have to work, and I also knew he would want to bring me to set. As a newbie to this entire world of filming a show, I worried I would be in the way or say the wrong things or break something. I knew I needed some pointers from my best friend to calm me down. “Just try not to trip over anything, Clumsy,” he simply answers before turning to the barista. This coffee shop seems really quiet at this time of the day, there are no customers at the counter. Just a few at the tables, most of them with their laptops open. “A large coffee with two extra espresso shots, and a medium black coffee to go, please,” he tells the man behind the counter. “Can I get your names, please?” he asks with the pen in hand. “You can write Shada on both of them,” Jeremy answers. The man nods his head curtly before scribbling down the name on both cups.  He pays the barista and then moves to the end of the counter, pulling me along.  “Filming with Kenny Ortega is really chill, Lil’ One, no need to worry,” he reassures me, taking me into a side-way hug, planting a kiss to my hair. “I’m just really nervous to be on a set, does that sound ridiculous?” I ask, twisting the bracelet around my wrist. It’s the one I got from Jeremy and Carolynn for Christmas last year. “No, I think that’s pretty normal. I ought to bring you to set more often, get you used to it all.” “Yeah,” I agree in a hushed voice, going over every possible situation that could go wrong. My train of thought is interrupted by the barista calling out our last name, sliding the two cups over at us. I grab the large cup whilst Jeremy takes his, and exit the joint to head back to the car. “Oh, seems like we’re right on time,” he points out, waving at two boys near the car. The brunette I know as Charlie, waves back before hopping into the front seat next to Darren. The blonde guy, better known as Owen, doesn’t get in yet, and instead waits for us to reach the car. He holds the door open for me, letting me get in first before hopping in himself. Jeremy jogs to the other side, getting in there. Now I’m squeezed between the two boys, clutching my coffee as if my life depends on it. “It’s good to see you again, lil’ Shada,” Charlie says, turning to face us. I giggle at the nickname. They’d called me that at the wedding. The entire night. “Surprising your big brother?” I nod my head in response. “Yeah, I didn’t have anything better to do, so… Came to annoy my brother and his buddies at work.” This makes all three boys laugh, which, not going to lie, makes me feel ten times more at ease. I thought seeing the boys again would be awkward. It’s anything but that. They make me feel so relaxed, and as though I’m a part of their group. Once we’re at the set, Jeremy introduces me to most of the crew and the rest of the cast, but especially Kenny Ortega. “Oh, look at that! Lil’ Shada’s here!” he says, opening his arms for a hug, which I gladly give him. I did meet him at the wedding, but it was so brief, I didn't think he’d remember me. “Hi, Kenny!” I greet excitedly and then let go of him. “You don’t mind if I hang around the set the next couple of days, right?” He inspects me from head to toe, eyebrows raised, and I can’t help the anxiety that’s welling up inside of me. I knew I shouldn’t have come over, I knew this was a bad idea. Kenny doesn’t want me here. I’m just going to be in the way of his mastermind working its magic on this show. I’m going to be a distraction for the actors, especially Jeremy. “Of course I don’t mind, Lil’ Shada! Jeremy's family is my family!” The pressures and intrusive thoughts wash away immediately. Those are the words I needed to hear. I sometimes think I need too much affirmation and confirmation, that other people get annoyed. My therapist told me that’s just my anxious brain speaking. He said if I want confirmation, I need to ask for it. Jeremy has been a great sport in my mental health journey from the very beginning. He took me to my sessions, did the exercises my therapist gave me with me. He’s always making sure I’m okay and gives me the confirmation I need whenever he feels I need it. Which is always at the right moment. “See, Lil’ One? Told you it would be okay!” I shoot both the men a thankful and relieved smile. Kenny places a hand on my shoulder as he passes me, leaving Jeremy and me all by ourselves. “You wanna go to makeup and wardrobe with me?” he asks, to which I nod. He then grabs my hand and leads me to the destined trailer. The second I step inside, I hear an ear-piercing screech coming from one of the chairs, and before I know it, I’m engulfed in a group hug by two pairs of arms. The sweet floral scent entering my nose tells me who it is without having to look at them. Savannah Lee May and Victoria Caro. “Hi, girlies,” I giggle, hugging them back equally as tight. The two let go of me, keeping me at arms length to inspect my entire being. Their make-up is only half done, Savannah’s hair is curled to perfection whilst Tori’s is put up in curlers. “I can’t believe you’re here, Lil’ Shada!” Savannah says, tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear. “We were just talking about you last night,” she points at Tori, who nods vigorously. “Yeah! We were wondering when we’d see you again because we missed you after your brother’s wedding!” the smaller girl explains. My heart melts at the idea of these two girls caring so much about me, they’re wondering when they’d see me again. “Aw, you guys! I missed you too!” I pout, trying my hardest not to start crying from happiness. “Hey! What about us?!” Owen’s voice sounds from the back of the trailer. I turn around to find him in the last chair, getting his hair done. “I missed you too, Owen, but I already saw you earlier!” I tell him whilst making my way to Madison and Jadah in the other chairs. I hug them each from behind, making sure not to ruin their neatly-done hair. “Yeah! But you didn’t say you missed us!” he exclaims. His bottom lip sticks out in a pout. Shaking my head, I make my way towards him and place my hands on his shoulders as I stand behind him. “I thought that was a given,” I whisper in his ear and then turn again to find Sacha and my brother near the doorway. The latter is looking at me with happiness emanating from his eyes. “Hey, Sacha!” I offer the boy a wave, which he returns with a smile. A busy-looking woman squeezes past me towards Owen, so I take a step back to give her more room. I watch her as she plays around with his hair, using spritzes of hairspray to keep it in place. I always loved doing other people’s hair when I was younger. I braided all of my cousins’ hair or used curlers on them whilst playing ‘hair-dresser’. My love for hairdressing went out the door as I got older and more anxious, but seeing this woman play around with Owen’s hair so determinedly, it reawakens the desire and enthusiasm. “This is Teresa,” Owen says when he catches me staring at his head and Teresa’s fingers. “She’s a magician when it comes to hair.” Teresa shoots me a kind smile through the mirror, which I nervously return. They caught me staring, that must’ve been a weird -- and kind of creepy, let’s be honest -- sight. “Y/N used to dream about becoming a hairdresser,” Jeremy informs them when he’s taken a seat in one of the chairs too. As both Teresa and Owen look at me with surprise in their eyes, I feel the heat rising to my cheeks. “You wanna give it a try?” Teresa asks, stepping aside from Owen. I open my mouth in pure horror, not knowing what to tell her. There’s no way I could ever do what Teresa’s doing. What if I mess it up entirely? What if I ruin all the work Teresa has put into his hair? What if I ruin Owen’s hair? “There’s not much you can do wrong with Owen’s hair. It pretty much just does what you ask,” Teresa tries to reassure me after probably seeing the absolute horror in my face.  I glance at Owen in the mirror. He gives me an encouraging nod. “Okay…” I mumble and step up to his chair. “How do you need his hair?” I ask Teresa. Owen’s character Alex probably has a specific way to how he wears his hair. He’s a ghost from the 90’s, I’m sure it’s a little different from his usual hairstyle. “Leonardo DiCaprio from Titanic,” Teresa simply replies, which is enough for me to know. I nervously raise my fingers to Owen’s head, suddenly anxious about the fact that I’m going to be touching this attractive man’s hair. My eyes dart over to his reflection in the mirror, our eyes locking. He licks his lips before they curl up into a smile that gives me enough encouragement to just go for it. I play around with it a little and grab a comb to guide me before asking the hairspray. Teresa hands me the bottle and I spritz some more of the product onto his blonde locks. Though Teresa has already done the works, pretty much, I’m just left with the finishing touches. It takes me about five minutes to get it in perfect shape. “You can tell you’ve had years of practice,” Teresa says, impressed at my work. “I mean, you pretty much did the gist, I just… finished it…” I trail off shyly. I avert my eyes from Teresa to Owen, who’s checking himself out in the mirror. “No offense, T,” he starts, turning to Teresa, “But I think someone’s coming for your job.” I’m frozen to the floor from the compliments that I don’t even move when Owen gets up from his chair and turns around. Suddenly, he’s mere inches away from me and all I can do is crane my neck to look up at him. A vibe I never felt around him when I first met him surrounds us now, resting down on us like a blanket. I don’t know why this is happening or how, but all I can see for a good minute is Owen and his tender smile. Until he places his hands on my waist, picks me up, and puts me down again a feet further. “I gotta go,” he says with a smile, “See you around, Lil’ Shada.” He boops my nose. The sudden movement startles me a little. I watch him walk out of the trailer before I come back from my daze and find everyone else in the trailer looking at me. “What?!” I ask, confused at why I’m being stared at. “What was that about?” Jadah asks, chuckling as she turns to face me. “What was what?” I ask again, seriously unaware what had just happened. “You, pretty much drowning in Owen’s eyes,” Madison reminds me. The thought of Owen’s eyes looking into mine just minutes ago warms me up from the inside out. Especially the nose-boop. “What?! No, I wasn’t,” I deny, but I don’t think I can hide it from either of these people. Thank God Jeremy had left before Owen. He would not have liked that. Jeremy is an amazing brother, but he can get a little overprotective when it comes to love-interests. “I’m gonna go…” I cough awkwardly, trying to come up with a good excuse, “Find my brother…” That feeling I had in that trailer doesn’t subside for the rest of the day. Sometimes I think it does, and then Owen looks my way or sends me a wink from the other side of the room and I’m back to feeling absolutely and utterly mushy. “Hey, you wanna go get lunch with us, Lil’ One?” Jeremy asks around noon when they’re done filming the scene. I take a look behind him, Owen and Charlie standing there, awaiting my answer. I lock eyes with Owen again, and he offers me a beautiful smile that persuades me. “Yeah, sure,” I reply and link my arm with Jeremy’s. The two other boys fall into step with us, Owen on my left, Charlie on Jeremy’s right. “Where are the others?” I ask. Not that I don’t like the idea of having lunch with these three boys. I just really like hanging out with the others too. “They had to start filming another scene, they had lunch earlier,” Jeremy informs me as we enter the restaurant on the other side of the street from the lot.  Owen takes a seat next to me while Jeremy and Charlie sit down on the opposite side of the table. “So, Lil’ Shada,” Charlie starts after we’ve ordered our food and drinks. “I heard you did Owen’s hair this morning…” I am taken aback by his subject of choice, especially since he makes it sound so teasing. My eyes dart from my brother to Charlie and back, unsure of what to say. Owen jumps to the rescue then, feeling me tense up beside him. “Yeah, she did a wonderful job! Her fingers are kinda like magic.” I look up at him, earning a smile from him in return. “Yeah, well, what can I say? It’s a talent,” I flip my hair over my shoulder confidently, though in my mind I’m wondering where all this confidence comes from. Even Jeremy is a little surprised by it whilst the other boys just laugh. “Maybe you should ask Kenny to start next week,” Charlie suggests with an excited grin. “Yeah! Then you could stay with us longer!” Owen’s enthusiasm dazzles me even more so than the words that come out of his mouth. He wants me to stay longer… “I still have to get through college, you guys. I can’t just quit?” I’m catapulted back into reality as those words roll off my mouth. “Do you know how much college costs?!” Owen and Charlie share a glance, wondering if either one of them knows. “I’m an actor, Lil’ Shada, so no…” Owen whispers in my ear without breaking eye contact with his buddy on the other side of the table. I let out a laugh, shaking my head in amusement. “How long are you staying?” Charlie then asks, his eyes flickering from me to Owen and back. “A week. I start college again next Monday,” I reply when the waitress finally brings us our food. “Thank you,” I say to her with a smile, the others doing the same. “So, you’re just gonna stay a week?” Owen queries before taking a bite from his lunch. “Yep… Going home on Sunday,” I answer. The disappointment in his face is prominent. “But I might come back soon if Jeremy will let me.” My eyes dart over to my brother, who hasn’t said much since we sat down. “Can’t really say no to Lil’ Shada, can I?” My lips curl up in thankfulness. “Besides, I think the rest of the cast would hate my ass if I took you away from them.” His eyes flick towards Owen for a split second. He has caught on to the vibe Owen and I have been giving off towards each other. Maybe it’s not just in my mind. “That’s very true,” Owen agrees, his mouth full of food. I turn my head to look at him, eyebrows raised at his immature way of eating his food. My eyes then fall on his chin, which has a little dressing seeping down it. I raise my hand and swipe my finger across his skin, taking the sauce away. He freezes at that moment, halting mid-chew. “Dressing,” I show him before licking it off my thumb. He swallows harshly and when I look back at the boys on the other side of the table, they’re staring at me too with wide eyes. “Someone ought to get this dude a bib,” I joke, trying to take the tension away. Charlie lets out a laugh, nodding his head agreeingly before turning back to his food. My brother, however, just raises his eyebrows at me. He doesn’t love the idea of his little sister being intimate with anyone. Especially not one of his best buddies. I can’t help it though. I’m a twenty-one year old woman, I have feelings. I have hormones. Jeremy’s overprotectiveness isn’t going to take away the fun from this week. I’m not going to let it.
And I don’t. I spend the entire week on set, either hanging out with some of the girls or with my brother and the other boys. Teresa lets me help out in the mornings with the cast’s hair, teaching me some new tips and tricks. If anything, it just brings me closer to the cast, which is a nice bonus. Mainly because it also brings me closer to Owen. The connection we created during my time in Vancouver has only grown from that first day. Whenever Jeremy’s  not around or he can’t hear it, the two of us harmlessly flirt with one another and, whenever he doesn’t have a scene to shoot, we hang out together. One day, he took me to Julie’s bedroom set where we sat on her bed and talked until we fell asleep huddled up into a cuddle. Jeremy wasn’t happy when he found us like that. Even though I did tell him it was just an innocent nap. He didn’t take it. My brother’s disapproval didn’t stop us though. We just kept going to that set to take a nap together. It has become my favorite part of the day. “Hey,” he captures my attention. We’re cuddled up on Julie’s bed, legs entangled. My head’s resting on his chest, one arm slung over his stomach whilst the other is squished between our bodies. He has his left arm draped around my shoulder, his fingers trailing up and down my arm. “What?” I ask, looking up at him. He’s staring at the decorative lights above us. “Do you really have to leave tomorrow?” His voice sounds so soft, I’d almost believe he’s sad. “I mean… Yeah… I don’t think I can miss my first classes of the semester,” I whisper as though it’s a secret. My fingers start drawing patterns on his chest and abdomen as my eyes focus on them instead of his face. I’m too scared I might kiss him if I keep looking at him.  “Can’t you follow them online? Or just… I don’t know…” he exhales deeply, my head bobbing along. “I just don’t want you to leave yet.” I want to reply, but people bursting in the room cut me off. I scramble upright, terrified it might be Jeremy. Instead, Owen and I are tackled by Charlie, Savannah and Madison. “Group cuddle!” they scream, making me and Owen giggle. I go back to my previous position while Charlie comes to rest his head on my thigh, his arms around my waist, the rest of his body curled up between Owen and me. Savannah takes Owen’s other side, mirroring my position while Madi rests her head on his stomach. “What were you guys chatting about so intimately?” Savannah asks, followed by a yawn. “Me leaving,” I sigh joylessly. I feel Charlie’s arms tighten around me and Owen tense beneath me. Savannah’s eyes lock with mine, a pout forming on her face. “I don’t want you to leave. It’s been way too fun with you around,” she whispers. “I agree,” Charlie mutters. “Ditto,” says Madison, making me smile widely. Even more so when Owen presses a kiss to my hair. This is where I want to be for the rest of my life. Not on some stupid campus studying for a job I don’t even want to do. I need more time with these people. And I’m going to get it. It’s about time I did something for myself instead of constantly doing shit for others.
“Can I talk to you guys for a moment?” I ask Carolynn and Jeremy at the dinner table. Jeremy halts, his fork lifted mid-air, while Carolynn simply places her cutlery down, giving me her undivided attention. I inhale deeply, trying to gather all of my courage. “I was wondering if I could stay here a little longer? I haven’t talked to mom and dad yet, but I wanna do an independent study this year while interning with Teresa.” Jeremy drops his fork on his plate, a loud clatter echoing through the place. “She asked if that would be something I’m interested in, and to be quite frank, I am. Helping around this week really reminded me of how much I loved doing it.” I glance at Jeremy, noticing how tense and frustrated he’s becoming with every word I say. “Being a doctor was never my dream, Jer. It was mom’s. I think I need to do this. I need to do more things for myself instead of wanting to please others.” “I agree, sweetie,” Carolynn chimes in, offering me a supportive smile before the two of us turn back to the man of the house. He has his lips pursed, clearly mulling this over in his head. “This is about Owen, isn’t it?” he finally asks. The mention of the boy I had grown so attached to startles me at first, I didn’t expect him to be brought up in this conversation since it has nothing to do with him. “He put you up to this?” I open my mouth, but no sound comes out. I have no clue what to tell him. On one hand, I do want more time with him and Charlie and all the other cast members. I want more time with my brother. But I can’t hide that it’s mostly Owen that’s drawing me here. Spending time with him made me feel so much more connected to myself, in some way. He calms my anxiety. He makes me feel happy. Genuinely happy. “Of course he didn’t, Jer. Why would he do that?” I finally manage to bring out. “Because you’re clearly in love with him, Y/N!” The loudness of his voice and harshness of his tone makes me flinch. “But he’s not right for you! He’s distracting you from your goals, making you think this is what you want! You don’t know what love feels like but you think you do! You and Owen can’t happen, and you can’t stay here. You have to go back home!” The anger and frustration builds inside of me, and pours out in the form of tears. “You don’t have a say in this, Jer! I am twenty-one, I’m not a child anymore! I can decide what I want to do with my life and I can decide who I love!” I’m surprised by the words that flow out of my mouth. “I get that you wanna be the protective brother, Jeremy, but this is going too far. You have to let me make my own mistakes! You have to let me live my life the way I want it to!” He angrily shoves his chair back when he stands up in frustration, making Carolynn flinch. “You’re still a child, Y/N!” he shouts at me. I stand up too, leaning my hands on the tabletop. “I’m not even a year younger than you, Jer! If I’m a child, so are you!” I yell back. “At least I’m married and have a family!” he aggressively points at Carolynn, who’s rubbing her face in desperation. My eyes flicker from my sister-in-law back to my brother. “I would be in a relationship if you didn’t scare off every person I ever brought home!” “I didn’t want you getting hurt, but did I ever get a thank you for that?!” I scoff at him. He’s not playing the petty card right now. “That’s just life, Jer! People get hurt! People break your heart! But you never even let me experience that pain because you’re too obsessed with being the good brother!” My heart is pounding out of my chest. Jeremy and I have never fought like this. Sure, we used to bicker when we were teenagers, but it’s always been something stupid. This screaming match sounds like years of bundled up distress from both of us. “You have a hero complex, Jer…” I lower the volume of my own voice. Jeremy lets his head drop, knowing all too well I’m right. About everything. About the hero complex, about him meddling in my life. Everything. “I think it’s better if you go to your room for a while, Y/N,” Carolynn orders sweetly. The pent-up anger still hasn’t gone completely, it makes me want to lash out at Carolynn too. “Still not a child,” I mutter instead before grabbing my bag and leaving the apartment. Once the cold Vancouver air hits me, the realization of what just happened does too. The tears escape again, along with anger and regret. I don’t regret what I said to my brother. It’s the truth. It’s exactly what I’ve been thinking for years. What I do regret is telling him all of that in a burst of anger instead of a civilized conversation like we used to back in the day. That’s the only thing I really do regret. After a while of roaming the streets of Vancouver and getting riled up about the whole situation again, I find myself aggressively knocking at Charlie and Owen’s door. I don’t know where else to go and Owen’s the only one who could calm me down from the anger and frustration I’m still holding inside for my brother. I still can’t believe he even dared to say that to me. “Lil’ Shada!” Charlie greets excitedly, but his smile quickly disappears upon seeing my state of being. Jaw clenched, balled fists, tears running down my face. “Hey, Gorgeous, are you okay?” Owen appears in the door too after hearing Charlie utter my nickname. Upon seeing the boy, I race into the apartment, grab his face and bring him down to meet his lips. He’s startled at the force and aggression I’m putting into this kiss, but that soon dissolves when he kisses back. His hands find their way to my waist, pulling me closer and closer until I can’t do anything else but wrap my legs around his waist. He holds me tight, scared he might drop me while my fingers find their way into his hair. I pull back from his lips, but keep my forehead pressed to his. Both of us are panting from the intensity. I can tell from that sparkle in his eyes he  has no clue what happened, but he wanted it to happen for a while.  “I’m gonna stay,” I tell him in a whisper, which only makes the sparkle in his eyes more earnest. Without another doubt, he crashes his lips on mine again. This time, he takes it a little slower, making it more sensational without depriving it from the sizzle from before. I try to forget about the fight I’d just had with Jeremy and focus solely on Owen, but my brain counteracts. His words are on repeat in my mind like syncopated beats. This time Owen pulls back when he no doubtedly tastes the saltiness of my tears mixing in with the passion. He looks at me, the sparkle in his eyes making room for worry. “Hey, hey, what’s wrong?” he whispers, putting me down on my feet again but keeping his arms around me and my body close. “I’m sorry, I just…” I inhale sharply, “I had a major fight with Jeremy and I just can’t shake it. I have never seen him like this…” Owen snakes his arms around my shoulders, pushing him closer into his chest. He lets me cry for a while, holding me in his arms until I’ve calmed down a little. He takes me to the couch where Charlie’s sitting too. I hadn’t even noticed him still in the room, let alone that he moved. “Talk to me, Gorgeous,” Owen whispers, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. He’d stopped calling me “Lil’ Shada” a while ago, which makes me feel like I’m more than just Jer’s little sister. Savannah told me it was what he did to anyone he liked. Those little details are his way of showing his appreciation or love to someone.  I like the small details in Owen’s love language. “I wanted to ask him and Care if I could stay at their place a little while longer, and I told him about the independent study and internship I wanted to do while here. For some reason, he thought I was doing all of this for you, that you put me up to this.” Owen inhales sharply at this. I can tell he hates being part of a fight between two people that mean a lot to him. “I told him it had nothing to do with you, but he didn’t believe me. He was shouting and screaming that I was still a child and that I couldn’t make my own decisions. I told him he had a hero complex,” I scoff at myself. This whole fight sounds even more ridiculous now. “Told him that he wants to be the good brother and that he has this idea of being a good brother that doesn’t let his little sister live… or love.” Owen’s eyes flick at mine, a small smile tugging at his lips. “I shouldn’t have shouted at him though… This was all just pent-up anger and frustration from the past twenty-one years. I should’ve just told him to back off like an adult instead of yelling at him like a child.” I glance at Charlie, who had been listening to the entire conversation. His eyes look somber, almost heartbroken. These two boys are just too good for this world. I can’t imagine a life without them anymore. “We both acted like children,” I mutter, shaking my head. There’s rap on the door, shaking all three of us awake from the somber cloud we’re all on because of me. We exchange glances, knowing exactly who’s at the door. Charlie goes first, Owen and me following suit. The anxiety welling up inside of me must be visible to him because he takes my hand, intertwining our fingers as we stand a little behind Charlie as he opens the door. “Hey, Char… Is Y/N here?” I hear my brother ask. The Canadian boy opens the door a little further, presenting Owen and I. Jeremy had been crying too, I can tell. His eyes are red and puffy, his lips swollen from biting on them in distress. “I’m so sorry, Lil’ One,” he mutters from the door. That’s enough for me to let go of Owen and launch myself into my brother’s arms. He’s stunned at first, but then wraps his arms around me too. “I know I can be a little overbearing sometimes, but you have to know it’s only because I love you,” he whispers in my ear, followed by a sniffle. “You’re an adult, just like me, and it’s time I treat you like one.” I push him back slightly but keep my hands on his shoulders. “It’s about time you figured that out.” He lets out a chuckle, dropping his head in defeat. “Hey,” he looks back up. “Thanks for looking out for me. I know you mean well.” “We’re family, Lil’ One, we’re supposed to look out for one another,” he looks past me at the two other boys, “We’re all family.” Charlie and Owen walk up to us, the latter scratching the back of his head with a pained expression on his face. “Yeah, can we not call it a family? Because otherwise, I’m in love with a family member.” He places his hands on my shoulders and presses a kiss to my hair. I meet his eyes whilst my heart beats faster. He’s in love with me. A boy I’m in love with is in love with me too. I mean, of course he is, he wouldn’t have kissed me like that. Jeremy glances from me to Owen and back, trying to decide what to think about this entire situation. I can tell it’s hard for him to let this idea of his little sister go, but he’s trying. “Be careful with her, alright? You might be my best friend, but I will not hesitate to kill you,” Jeremy’s pointing at Owen, a harsh look on his face. “Bro, I could never hurt her,” he reassures my older brother, and me at the same time. “You better keep that promise, Joyner!” That night, Jeremy calls Carolynn over too, and the five of us sit on the couch all night, talking and watching movies. I love being in Owen’s arms so much. Though we used to cuddle and be flirty with each other before, it really does give a whole different vibe knowing I could just turn my head and kiss him now. My parents allow me to stay in Vancouver and go through with my plan, much to all of our relief. Days on set are amazing. I help Teresa and the other hairstylists every morning and during all the scenes when they need touch ups, spend every night at Owen’s and Charlie’s place, and have the most fun I ever had in my life with all these people around here. “Cuddle session?” Owen whispers in my ear when we’re rounding up the scene. His sudden hands on my shoulders and lips against my ear makes me jump at first, but I calm down just as quickly. “Baby, I’m working,” I giggle, clearing all the hair products from the table, knowing he’ll convince me within five seconds. Teresa really is a very loose mentor and wouldn’t mind if I escaped now. “But you’re almost finished though? And Teresa is here to take over from you?” he tries, which makes me look up at him, and then at Teresa. The woman I call my Canadian mother winks at me, letting me know I’m good to go. I turn around in Owen’s arms, wrapping my arms around his neck. “You are so lucky Teresa’s this awesome,” I tell him and peck his lips quickly. “Thank you, T.” I grab Owen’s hand and guide him to the bedroom set we’d used so many times for cuddles, whether that be alone or with the others. The second we’re in the room, Owen tugs at my arm, making me stumble into him with a squeal. Before I can ask what he’s doing, he cups my face with his warm hands and brings me in for a passionate kiss. He pushes me backwards when I kiss back, right until I feel the bed push into the back of my knees. I crawl backwards, Owen following suit as he’s still attached to my lips. He pulls back for a moment, looking me in the eyes with those tender eyes of his. He’s holding up his weight by placing a hand next to my head, using the other to tuck a strand of hair behind my ear. “I love you,” he whispers, causing the corners of my mouth to curl up into a smile automatically. “I love you too,” I whisper back and diminish the space between our lips by pulling him down by the back of his neck. My fingers tangle up into the blonde hair I styled this morning. Doing his hair might just be my favorite part of the day, along with this. “Group cuddle!” Our intimate moment is disturbed by a mop of our friends attacking us on the bed. With a groan, Owen drops next to me, the others piling onto us. That lunch break, all of us take a collective nap on Julie’s bed, some on stomachs, on chests, shoulders, thighs. All our limbs are tangled up together, no bystander would be able to tell which limb belongs to who. To say my new job is the best ever would be an understatement.
“I think Connor likes you,” your friend, Karina, nudged you.
You looked over to the cute, brunette boy that was staring at you from across the hallway. “Yeah, right,” you muttered.
“I’m serious! Oh, look! He’s coming to ask you out!” Karina squealed.
You looked away from your locker, straightening up as Connor was approaching you. He flashed you a charming smile.
“I’m gonna go. Meet me by your car!” Karina smiled.
“No! Rina!” You whisper-shouted.
Your attention was turned to Connor as he stood in front of you.
“Hey, Y/n,” he greeted. “Hey… Connor,” you smiled shyly.
“I wanted to ask you a question,” he said, leaning against the lockers.
“Y-Yeah, go ahead,” you nodded. He smiled at your nervousness, moving closer to you.
His scent filled your nostrils and you felt yourself going dizzy. You leaned against the lockers, hoping it would help you not trip and fall.
“So, I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date with me at Mystic Grill. We can get dinner then go back to my place and watch a movie,” Connor suggested.
Your eyes widened. You were pleasantly surprised. You had liked Connor since school had started, which was a few months ago. You had been trying to get him to notice you, which was going horribly until now. You were way too shy to go up to say anything to him. You guessed that Karina had something to do with him asking you out.
“Um, Earth to Y/n?” Connor asked, waving his hand in front of your face.
“Huh?” You blinked rapidly. You looked at him, getting even more embraced and shy when you realise you got lost in your own thoughts. “Oh, I’m so sorry. I’m just um… not really used to people asking me out, you know? I’ve never really been on a date before. My Aunt Jenna used to say that was okay since I’m only in junior year and stuff, but my brother has already had sex with Vicki Donovan and my sister is already on her second boyfriend. It’s kinda sad how un-loveable I am and-”
You were cut off by Connor chuckling. You cussed yourself out in your head for being so awkward.
“I’m sorry, again. I ramble a lot, too,” you apologised.
“It’s not worries. It’s really cute. You’re really cute. Anyways, what do you say? Come with me to Netflix and chill?” Connor asked.
You smiled, opening your mouth to respond, but you were rudely interrupted.
“She has plans Friday. Sorry, mate,” an all-too familiar Australian accent sounded behind you.
You clenched your jaw and balled your fists. You turned your head, glaring.
“Kol, go away,” you said through gritted teeth.
“No can do, darling. Jeremy asked me to watch over you,” Kol smiled.
“Uh, who’s this guy?” Connor asked. You turned back to him. “Oh, just a uh… family friend. Don’t mind him, he’s super annoying.”
“Actually, do mind me. I’m here to pick Y/n up. Elena wants you home, now,” Kol said.
“Oh. Well, if you need to be home, go ahead,” Connor said.
You sighed, “Yeah, um, I do. But it’s a yes to the date.”
Connor smiled widely. “Awesome! I’ll pick you up at 8.”
“Great! Can’t wait,” you smiled sweetly.
Connor walked away, leaving you grinning from ear-to-ear.
“You can do so much better, Y/n,” Kol said.
You rolled your eyes, turning 180 to him. “Go away, Kol. I know for a fact that Jeremy and Elena didn’t tell you to watch over me.”
“Hm, true. That was just an excuse,” Kol smiled.
“An excuse for what?” You asked. “Well, I needed and excuse to talk to you,” Kol shrugged.
You sighed, going back to your locker and grabbing your textbooks. “About what?” You asked.
“Well, I know my family hasn’t made it easy for any of you, so we are throwing a ball! My mother’s idea, really. We are allowed to bring dates and I’d like to bring you,” Kol explained.
You started to feel all flustered. “Uh… Wh-Why?”
“Because I like you, Y/n. I think you’re cute, funny, and all the good parts of a woman. I’d like you to ditch that Connor-nobody and be my plus one!”
You slammed your locker shut, walking away from Kol.
“Y/n, darling! You never answered me!” Kol exclaimed, trying to catch up with you.
“Yeah, I did that on purpose,” you muttered, knowing he could hear you because of his vamp hearing.
“You are so rude. I take it your parents didn’t teach you any manners? Not like they can teach you them now,” Kol joked.
You scoffed, not believing what you were hearing. “Like you can talk. And plus, why would I want to go to the ball with a jerk like you?”
You waked out of the school, spotting Karina over at your car.
“Y/n, wait!” Kol called out, reaching out to grab your wrist.
“What!” You exclaimed, turning to him.
“Look, I’m sorry, okay? I didn’t mean that, but I really do want you to accompany me to the ball,” Kol said, staring you right in the eyes.
You stared at him for a few moments, your eyes flickering down to his lips. Once you noticed him smirk, you looked away, pulling your wrist away from his grip.
“I appreciate the invitation, but I’m going out with Connor,” you mumbled.
Kol sighed, “Fine. But if you reconsider, it’ll be at our house.”
“Thanks,” you said, looking up at him through your lashes. “I need to go, okay? My friend is waiting for me.”
“Alright. I hope you reconsider, Y/n. I’d be a shame if I didn’t have a date,” Kol said.
“As if you can’t get anyone you want,” you rolled your eyes.
“But I only want you,” Kol admitted.
Butterflies fluttered in your stomach. As much as you wanted to stay and ask him if he really did want you, you knew you’d end up a blubbering mess. And you definitely didn’t want to be like that in front of a devastatingly handsome Original vampire.
“I gotta go,” you murmured, turning away and stomping off to Karina.
“Hey, who’s that?” Karina asked once you approached.
“Oh um… An annoying friend of Jeremy,’s” you lied, running your fingers through your hair.
“Hm, well he’s hot,” Karina bit her lip, looking at Kol who was still where you left him.
You rolled your eyes and started to twiddle with your fingers. “No, he’s not.”
Karina narrowed her eyes at you, gasping in realisation.
“What?” You asked, full of confusion. “You like him!” Karina grinned.
You scoffed, “Hell no.”
“Hell, yes! You’re doing that thing you do when you talk about a guy you like,” Karina giggled, pointing to your hands.
You looked down and sighed, putting your arms to your sides. “I do that when I’m nervous.”
“Oh, yeah? Are you nervous about Mr. Hottie?” Karina wiggled her eyebrows.
“No. I’m nervous because Connor asked me out this Friday,” you explained.
“Oh, my God! Babe, that’s awesome!” Karina squealed, jumping up and down, clapping while doing so.
“Thanks, I know,” you smiled sheepishly. “Well, what day is it? Wednesday, right? We need to shop!” Karina exclaimed.
“No, no! I'll just wear jeans and a cute top. There’s no need to shop,” you said.
“Have you seen your closet? You only have one cute flora top and a pair of black baggy jeans. The rest of your closet are sweats and sweatshirts. You don’t even have any date-appropriate dresses!” Karina said.
“Not true!” You protested weakly.
“Mhm,” Karina said, pursing her lips. You rolled your eyes, knowing she was right.
“Fine, but we are only going to buy one outfit. ONE,” you said, holding up your first finger.
“I’ll take it! Wanna go now?” Karina asked.
“Sure,” you nodded. “Yay! We can get lunch at the Grill, too,” Karina suggested, opening the passenger door of your car.
“Alright,” you nodded, going over to the driver’s seat.
You drove to the outlet mall, parking in front of the shop. Karina and you walked inside, Karina immediately pulling you to the jeans section.
“God, I hate jeans,” you muttered. “Why?” Karina asked.
“Because they’re tight and I have to jump to get them on,” you explained.
“Well, that’s just because you have a nice ass,” Karina smiled.
You smiled, “Yeah, right.” “I’m serious! Your figure is to die for! I’m jealous, honestly,” Karina said in a sincere tone.
You chuckled, “Thanks, Rina.”
“Of course. Now, let’s see what jeans they have. Do you want black, dark wash, or light wash?” Karina asked.
“Dark wash,” you answered. “High-waisted or low-waisted?” Karina asked.
“(Your choice),” you said.
Karina pulled out two pairs of jeans, handing them to you. “Now, for the shirts! Do you want a ruffled top, knot front, or button-up?”
“Um, ruffled, I guess,” you said. “Alright… Well, I know you like plaid… So, what about this one?” Karina pulled out a black and white top that was cropped. It was long sleeved, the sleeves ruffled slightly. The bottom of the shirt was stretchy and the top had buttons.
“Wow, this is really cute. Simple, too. I like it,” you smiled.
“I knew you would! Now, go try it on,” Karina said, going over to the changing rooms.
You put on your cloths, buttoning up the top and turning around to the mirror. You raised your brows, surprised by how good you looked.
“You done?” Karina called out from outside.
“Yeah,” you said, going out of the dressing room.
“You look so pretty. Y/n. The jeans highlight your figure perfectly!” Karina exclaimed.
“Yeah,” you smiled, “And the top isn’t as cropped as I thought it would be.”
“I am amazing at dressing you! Maybe I should become a professional dresser?” Karina said.
You chuckled, “You should. Well, I think I’ll get this. I’m not interested in shopping anymore and I’m hungry.”
“Alright, well, I have some things I want to try on. So, give me 15 minutes tops and get us a table at the Grill,” Karina said, holding up the clothes she found.
“Sounds good,” you said. You went back behind the door and changed out of your clothes. You paid for your outfit, walking out and going to the Grill.
You got yourself seated quickly.
“Y/n, hey!” Matt exclaimed. “Oh, hey, blue eyes,” you grinned.
“How have you been?” Matt asked. “Good! How about you?” You asked.
“I’ve been good, thanks. How is Elena?” Matt asked.
You chuckled, “Elena is good. I’ll tell her you asked about her.”
“Alright, sounds good. So, I heard Connor Askren asked you out,” Matt said.
“Oh, yeah,” you smiled happily. “Good for you. I have to warn you, though, be careful,” Matt said.
“Be careful about what?” You asked. “Well, Connor has a reputation of asking girls out then bailing on them,” he explained.
“Oh,” you frowned. “Well, he seemed really excited to ask me out.”
“I'm sure he was. I’m just saying. You’re like a little sister to me. I don’t want you getting hurt,” Matt explained.
You smiled gratefully. “Thanks, big bro.”
“No problem. Anyways, are you here alone or is Karina with you?” He asked.
“She’s with me. She’s at the clothing store. I just came from there, hence the bag,” you said, holding up your shopping bag.
“Ah right. Let me guess, she wanted to try some stuff on and she let you go?” Matt asked.
“Yep,” you laughed. “That’s what Caroline does. So, do you want to get started with a drink or anything?” Matt asked.
“Yeah, sure. Can I get a Diet Coke, chicken tenders, and cheese fries?” You asked.
“Coming right up. Do you know what Karina would want?” Matt asked.
“She’ll probably want lemonade, a chicken wrap, and onion rings,” you said.
“Alright. Be right back,” Matt smiled.
You gave him a goodbye wave. You sighed once he left, looking at your shopping bag. You would be lying if you said you were’t worried about Connor. You hoped that he was different than what Matt told you.
————
Friday came sooner than expected. You were currently at home and getting ready for your date. Karina had helped you with your makeup, putting eyeliner on you and letting you borrow her lipstick. You were strapping on your heels when Karina told you she was leaving.
“Text me if you two kiss,” Karina winked.
“Highly doubt we will, but noted,” you smiled.
“Alright, I’m gonna go. You look amazing, Y/n. Have fun!” Karina hugged you before leaving.  “Thanks,” you giggled as you shut the door.
You looked at your phone, seeing it was 7:57. You smiled nervously, grabbing your purse and waiting at the door. The 3 minutes passed by slowly. It was soon 8 and he wasn’t there yet. You shrugged it off, knowing that he would probably be there in a minute or two. But as you waited, 2 minutes passed, 5, 10, and 20. Each time you checked your phone, your hope in Connor disappeared and your fear of what Matt said becoming true increased. Once it reached 8:30, you realised that Connor wasn’t coming and he had in fact stood you up.
You stomped off to your room, tears falling down your cheeks.
“God! How stupid are you, Y/n? Thinking a guy like Connor would want to go out with you? A football player? A guy with one of the highest GPA’s? Fat chance,” you sobbed to yourself.
You took off your heels and wiped your eyes with the back of your hand, smudging all the makeup that Karina had done. You took off your clothes, slipping into sweats and a tank top. You washed your face of all the makeup, going into your kitchen. You went to go and get some chocolate, but someone interrupted you.
“Don’t look so glum, Y/n. Connor is an ass.” You turned around sharply, surprised to see Rebekah there.
“I… Rebekah, what are you doing here?” You asked rudely.
“I’m here to give you your dress and get you ready for the ball!” Rebekah smiled.
“I’m not going,” you mumbled, going back to getting your food.
Rebekah sped to you, grabbing your wrist. “Yes, you are. I don’t like you very much. I don’t like any of your family, but Kol seems to have taken an interest in you. I have no idea why, but I just got my family back and want to make everyone happy.”
“Well, I don’t like Kol. So you can tell him to shove off,” you said.
“Hm… No,” Rebekah grinned. “C’mon, you’re going to the ball whether you like it or not. Your sister and brother will also be there.”
“Another reason not to go,” you stated.
“Oh, please! If you don’t go I am sure Kol will kill Elena and Jeremy,” Rebekah said.
“No! I… I don’t want to. Kol doesn’t even like me. He just likes to piss off all my friends,” you said.
“Y/n, look at me,” Rebekah said. You looked at her dully.
“Kol likes you. Hell, I think he’s in love with you. All he talks about it you and quite frankly, it’s sickening, but a little heartwarming to see him care so much for someone. So, please, come to the ball. If you want to leave after a little bit, I’ll make sure you go without any issue. But just try it out,” Rebekah begged.
Your heart fluttered once you heard Kol might be in love with you. If you were completely honest, you had a little crush on Kol. How couldn’t you? He was charming, handsome, and even nice to you. You never pursued the crush because one, you were too shy for that. And two, you knew your family would kill you. But you knew Rebekah would just kidnap you and take you there, even if you said no again, so you deciding to say yes.
“Fine, I’ll go. But don’t expect me to have fun,” you mumbled.
Rebekah took her hand off your wrist, smiling widely. “Great! Let’s go and get you ready, we’re late.”
You nodded and went back to your room. Rebekah sat you down and did your makeup. Giving you a fox eye look with a red lip. She then got out your dress, to which you gasped at.  Your dress was a long red ballgown. The top of the dress had jewels all over, the skirt then puffing out like Cinderella’s. The sleeves of the dress were made to go across your shoulders, letting the top of your breasts and your collar bone show.
“Wow I… Wow,” you gasped.
“Amazing, right? You’ll be the belle of the ball! You’ll even outshine Elena, who’s dress is disappointingly gorgeous,” Rebekah smiled.
“Thank you,” you smiled.
“Of course! Now go put it on, I’ll help you with the back,” Rebekah said handing it to you.
You took it gently, going to your bathroom to get changed. You came out, letting Rebekah tighten the dress for you. You then slipped on your black heels that you were wearing earlier, and took a look at you reflection.
“Wow, I actually look like a princess,” you smiled.
“That you do,” Rebekah smiled. “Now let’s go. Our ride is waiting.”
You nodded, lifting up the bottom of your dress so you could walk. You and Rebekah walked out to the limo, going over to the Mikaelson house.
“Hey, Rebekah?” You asked. “Yes?” She answered.
“Why are you being so nice to me? Besides making Kol happy,” you asked.
Rebekah sighed. “Well, I think you’re good for my brother. You make him more bearable to be around. Kinder, warmer. A lot less murderous. I know you like him, too. I can see the way you look at him when you think no one is paying attention. He’s head over heels for you and I think you could be the same for him after tonight.”
“Good to know,” you smiled.
“Mhm. But don’t tell anyone I ever complimented you or helped you out tonight. I don’t need your friends thinking I have a good side,” Rebekah said.
You chuckled. “Alright, deal.”
You two arrived at Rebekah’s house, stepping out of the limo. Rebekah and you waked to the doors, opening them. As you stepped into the ballroom, all eyes went on you. Your entrance elicited gasps from everyone. You smiled shyly, your smile faltering once Elena, Damon, and Jeremy approached you. Rebekah left you to deal with your family.
“What the hell are you doing here!” Elena exclaimed.
“Having fun, El,” you answered.
“No, you need to go home now,” Damon said.
You shook your head. “No. Connor stood me up and Kol invited me to this thing, so I decided to take the opportunity.”
Elena’s angry face fell as she heard what Connor did. “Connor stood you up? That jerk!”
“It's okay. I’d rather be here and in this dress than with him and drunk,” you admitted.
“Need me to beat him up for you?” Jeremy asked. “I’m good baby bro, but thanks. Uh…. have you guys seen Kol?” You asked.
“Nope,” Elena said. “And I wouldn’t advise looking for him. He might kill you,” Damon frowned.
“No, I won’t! Like she said, I invited her here,” Kol said from behind them.
Damon turned, a grimace on his face. “Why?”
“Because I am in love with her,” Kol smiled, his eyes meeting you’s.
Your blood ran cold and you looked down, holding the skirt of your dress tightly.
“I’d like to dance with her, if that’s alright,” Kol said.
“No way,” Jeremy said. “You put a hand on her-”
“Jer, it’s okay,” you said. “I’ll shout if I’m in trouble. Please, just go.”
Elena sighed, “Fine. I have to go and see Esther anyways. Do not hurt her.” Elena warned Kol.
“I never would dream of it,” Kol smiled.
The three left, leaving you and Kol at the entrance. Kol approached you, you putting your head down again.
“You look ravishing, Y/n. If we were alone, I’d rip that dress off of you,” Kol said, looking over your figure.
“Thanks,” you chuckled shyly.
Kol put his hand on your chin gently, lifting your face up to meet his. “Don’t be so shy, Y/n. And don’t self-doubt yourself, either. I know that asshole Connor stood you up, but you are still the most beautiful, kind girl ever. He doesn’t deserve you anyways.”
“And you do?” You challenged.
Kol chuckled. “No, but I’m hoping you think differently.” He then offered you his hand. “Dance with me?”
“Sure,” you nodded, taking his hand hesitantly.
Butterflies threatened to rip out of you as you touched his hand. Goosebumps rushed up your arm as you grasped his hand. Kol walked you two to the ballroom floor. You put your free hand on his shoulder, him putting his free hand on your waist. You two swayed for a few moments until you broke the silence.
“So, um… How did you know Connor stood me up?” You asked.
“I had Rebekah spying on you,” Kol admitted.
“Wow, not creepy at all,” you muttered. “I wanted to be ready for if he stood you up, so Rebekah could then go and get you ready,” Kol explained.
“Makes sense,” you said.
Kol smiled at you, not being able to keep his eyes off of you. You kept adverting your gaze. Too nervous to actually look at him or more than 5 seconds.
“You’re very cute when you’re tense,” Kol complimented.  “Thanks. Not a lot of people think that,” you chuckled. “Well, those people are out of their minds then,” Kol said.
“Why do you like me?” You asked suddenly, looking at him. You had been wandering this all night, waiting until you were here with him to ask.
Kol smiled. “Well, you’re different. You’re not aggressive like your brother, or so moral like Elena. You’re quiet and calm. You think through things rather than be impulsive, which seems to be how everyone is around here. Your eyes are so beautiful, I get lost in them. When I see you smile, it makes my dead heart come alive. And when you do that hair-twirl thing, it’s so adorable. You’re also extraordinarily stunning, which is a big plus.”
Your heart skipped beats as he told you his reasons for liking you. As you looked at him and watched him pour his heart out, your liking for him grew. You subconsciously moved closer to him, too. Your body doing its own thing.
“Wow,” you breathed out. “You really um… Thought about this.”
“Well, you are all I think about. Besides who’s head I want to rip off,” Kol smirked.
“Gross,” you grimaced. “I’m kidding! But I’m serious about you. I’ve never liked someone as much as you, Y/n. I hope that I can prove that I’m a good choice for you,” Kol said.
“Well, you’re proving it now,” you admitted.
Kol grinned, “Fantastic.”
You two swayed in silence again. As the music got slower and slower, and the lights got lower and lower, you two moved dancing positions naturally. You were quite scared to move closer to him. You were already so close, practically hugging. But your bodies were like magnets, pulling each other close. So tried to go with everything and relax.
Both of your arms went around his neck and both of his hands wrapped around your waist and went to the small of your back. You two scooted in until your head was on his shoulder. You closed your eyes and breathed in his scent nonchalantly, enjoying his cologne. Kol nuzzled his cheek onto the side of your head, him also breathing in the scent of your shampoo.
You two danced for a while before Kol got an idea.
“Do you want to get out of here and go to the balcony?” Kol asked.
“You’re not gonna kill me, are you?” You joked.
“No promise,” Kol winked cheekily. You giggled, “Alright. Let’s go.” Kol nodded and kept his grip on your hand, walking you to the balcony. On the way, you took two glasses of champagne. You handed him one as you stepped out on the terrace. You put your elbows on the railing, sipping the champagne.
“So, why’d you bring me out here?” You asked.
“To gaze at the stars,” Kol answered simply, walking next to you.
“Hm,” you hummed, looking up at the night sky. “Did you ever stargaze back before you all were vampires?”
“Yes, all the time. It was one of my favourite things to do,” Kol said.
“That sounds nice,” you said. “It was,” Kol said.
“Do you ever miss being a witch?” You asked. Kol sighed, taking a sip of champagne. “Sometimes. But I love being immortal.” You smiled, “Makes sense. If I were a vampire, I’d be the same.”
Kol turned to you, “I can turn you.”
You shook your head, “No. I like being human. Being a vampire seems to complicated. Plus, I want kids.”
“Hm. Sounds nice having your little perfect, human life. I miss that,” Kol said.
“You were never human, though,” you smiled, turning to him. “Yes, but I was once mortal,” Kol said.
“True,” you nodded, taking a sip of your champagne. “Hey, um… I want to thank you for inviting me. I know I said I didn’t want to go, but I’m really glad I did. I’m having a really good time.”
“Of course. I knew you would. I know you’re not the girly-girl type, but every girl deserves to experience to dress up for a ball,” Kol said.
“I agree,” you nodded. “And I’m also glad that you are warming up to me a little bit. You’re not so much of a blubbering mess anymore,” Kol smirked.
You chuckled, “Yeah, I take a little to warm up to new people.”
“Well, I’m glad I’m that person you’ve warmed up to,” Kol said, stepping closer to you. He put his hand on your’s, looking at you flirtatiously.
You grinned at the moves he was making, deciding to make a move of your own.
You leaned into him, your eyes boring into his the whole time. You were standing toe-to-toe to him, your mouth parted as his eyes glowed dark brown. He smirked at you, his hand leaving your’s and settling on your waist. You wanted to move closer, but your skirt was so puffed out it restricted you from doing so. Kol noticed your slight frustration with your dress, setting his glass down, and putting his other hand on your waist, pulling you impossibly closer.
“Kol, my dress is too big,” you chuckled.
“Not too big for me to do this,” Kol grinned, leaning his head down.
Before you knew it, he was kissing you. Your eyes widened as his lips met your’s. A few moments passed before he pulled away, confused and scared.
“I’m sorry, I must have read the room wrong. I-” Kol started to apologise, but you put your hand on the back of his head and pulled him in again.
This time Kol was surprised. He didn’t waste any time in kissing you back, though. Your lips moved together in perfect synchronisation. It was like his lips were made for your’s as they fit in-between your’s like puzzle pieces. Both your fingers entangled themselves in his hair, pulling slightly as he pulled you impossibly closer. Your stomach did a million of flips as his tongue swiped your bottom lip. You opened your mouth slowly, Kol’s tongue slipping in gently. As your tongue’s fought, Kol’s hands went to your skirt, finding your legs under them. He put his hands under your thighs, lifting you up with ease.
You pulled away, breathing heavily. Kol’s eyes opened, going down to your lips and smiling as your lipstick was smudged. Your chest heaved up and down as you stared into his eyes.
“I just wanted to um… To tell you that i-if you were planning on having um, sex. I’m not ready. This um… This was my first kiss, too. Sorry if you were expecting to get lucky tonight,” you confessed, blushing profusely.
Kol smiled at you, setting you down. “It’s alright, love. I wasn’t expecting anything from you tonight. I hope your first kiss was good.”
“It was really good,” you giggled.
“Good. Now, do you want to continue to make out? Or we could go back out and dance,” Kol suggested.
“Um… can we dance again?” You asked, going back to your shy nature.
“Of course we can, darling,” Kol smiled, holding his hand out for you to take.
He led you to the ballroom. You two danced for a couple hours until you started to get tired. Kol drove you back home and you went into your house, Kol kissing you goodbye. You closed the door, smiling widely and squealing to yourself.
Your phone rang and you answered it immediately, seeing it was Karina.
“Hey! How did your date go?” She asked.
“Um…” you sighed, the feeling of Kol’s lips on your’s still there. You smiled again, fidgeting with your fingers.
“It was good. Really, really good.”
