You blamed me. But what is the difference between pulling away slowly and doing it all at once. In the end, we will still end up being the ghost of each other anyway.

Jet drones spotted over Belgorod region of Russia - Technology Org
A jet drone was spotted over the Belgorod region of Russia. Local Russians are getting used to constant drone attacks and the hopelessness of their own air defences, but they haven’t seen jet drones before. They will now have to get used to them too.
A jet drone somewhere in the skies over Belgorod region of Russia. (Screenshot)
Jet drones circling over the Belgorod region were filmed by local residents. There is almost no doubt that these are kamikaze drones, but it was not reported whether they destroyed anything. It is also not reported whether they were shot down or taken down using some electronic warfare tools. But there are already guesses as to what these aircraft could have been.
[embedded content]
In May of last year, it was reported that the United Kingdom had handed over Banshee jet drones to Ukraine. In February of this year, Russian invaders found the wreckage of a similar drone in the occupied part of the Donetsk region. It is believed that the defenders of Ukraine are using British drones for attacks on important targets or have copied the Banshee design and are now producing something similar themselves.
Interestingly, the Banshee was developed back in the 1980s, but had a pusher propeller configuration back then. The Royal Navy only crammed two jet engines into the Banshee’s tail in 2021. This is how the Banshee Jet 80+ was created, which has endurance for 45 minutes and a range of just over 100 km.
The Banshee will certainly not be the longest-range drone in the Ukrainian arsenal, but it has a speed of 720 km/h and goes up to an altitude of 9 km, so it is not the easiest thing to shoot down. It should be remembered that Iran has also developed a jet version of the Shahed-136 drone. Despite the fact that jet drones are more expensive, they are harder to shoot down with the cheapest means, unlike the slow propeller drones.
Banshee drones are used all over the world. Over the years over 8,000 of them were manufactured, mostly with propeller engines. But here’s an interesting detail: Banshee was not designed for the tasks that the Ukrainians are using it for.
The Banshee was originally designed as a target drone for air defence systems. It is used in exercises to test the readiness of soldiers and equipment to counter various threats from the air. The Banshee Jet 80+ was designed for the same task. But the defenders of Ukraine, unfortunately, have no shortage of aerial targets, so they install 7 kg of explosives on the Banshee and send these drones at Russian targets like smaller and slower cruise missiles.
Ukraine received a limited number of Banshee drones. However, these precise tools will certainly do their part in attacking crucial targets in Russia. Lately those have been various objects in the Russian oil industry.

(Kamikaze drones)…

Iran Acknowledges for First Time Supply Of Drones to Russia
Iran Acknowledges for First Time Supply Of Drones to Russia
Iran’s foreign minister on Saturday acknowledged for the first time that his country has supplied Russia with drones, insisting the transfer came before Moscow’s war on Ukraine that has seen the Iranian-made drones divebombing Kyiv. The comments by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian come after months of confusing messaging from Iran about the weapons shipment, as Russia sends the…

Just thinking. I had my formidable years during the 1990s. One thing one knew about international politics during the 90s was that if a brutal dictator did something the US didn’t like, they could get hit by precision attacks from the most lethal air force the world had ever seen. Now when Iran is putting terror weapons in the hands of Russia, would a 90s US send a reasonable number of tomahawk missiles against the Iranian factories producing “kamikaze drones”?

Ukraine Now Has Drones With a Very Long Operational Range - Technology Org

Ukraine Now Has Drones With a Very Long Operational Range - Technology Org
In the very beginning of April, Ukraine attacked several targets in Tatarstan Republic of the Russian Federation. Drone attacks in Russia are nothing new at this point, but this one was different – targets were around 1,200 km from Ukraine. Where did Ukraine get such long-distance drones?

On 2nd of April 2024 the city of Yelabuga in Tatarstan was attacked by Ukrainian drones for the first time. Ukraine said that it targeted the Shahed-146 manufacturing plant as well as a local oil refinery.
The Russian oil industry is constantly being attacked by Ukrainian drones at this point in the war. Ukraine is obviously trying to hurt one of Russia’s main ways to keep its economy afloat and to reduce the production of fuel that is needed for military equipment. On top of that, by attacking various targets in Russia the defenders of Ukraine are forcing Russia to direct some of its air defence capabilities to protect strategic assets in its own territory, which should open up some opportunities in Ukraine.

But where did Ukraine get its long-distance drones? People who watched the videos about the attacks in Tatarstan noted that these drones look a lot like Cessna planes. And that assessment is not wrong – Ukraine managed to transform some light civilian planes into long-range kamikaze drones.
Ukraine wants to attack the Russian oil industry, but not all of these targets are in the regions that border Ukraine. This means that Ukraine needs long-range drones. Small drones can have a range of up to 1.000 km. Meanwhile, small planes can fly much further. If you get rid of the seats, communication equipment, doors, windows and other bits that are needed for human pilots, you free up some weight to fit larger fuel tanks. It is believed that Ukraine’s new drones have a range of 2,000-3,000 km. Bild was one of the outlets to confirm that. Sources say that these drones carry an explosive charge of 300 kg.
How were these planes transformed? Well, some kind of remote control system was installed. It could have been some robotic setup to run the usual flight controls or something more integrated directly with the control surfaces. These drones also must use satellite navigation and may even have cameras to recognize targets. Interestingly, recently there were reports that Ukrainian drones have some sort of AI system to aid with navigation and target recognition.
Also, while transforming light planes into drones is definitely doable and relatively cost-effective, Ukraine is also making brand new long-range kamikaze-style drones. They will have the advantage of being made from the ground up for this purpose.
Targets? Oleksandr Musienko, head of the Military Law Research Center of Ukraine, noted that Ukrainian drones primarily look for 5 kinds targets in Russia:
military airfields;
arms industry facilities;
storage facilities for military equipment, weapons and ammunition;
armament logistics points;
oil refineries.
And these attacks are likely to continue indefinitely. Some reports say that Russia already lost (although temporarily), 10-15 % of its fuel production capabilities.
