An AU where the Todorokis are secretly Tanukis. Except for little Shouto.

I do not have the mental fortitude to not make Todoroki a tanuki. He deserves to be a small magic raccoon. More importantly, I deserve it.

1 - Little Shouto isn't secretly a tanuki like the other members of his family because he never tried to hide it. He goes full raccoon when he is sleepy/overwhelmed.

2 - Since it's a confirmed suspected raccoon AU, every of the Todoroki kids have piercings while Endeavor is horrified.

3 - It goes without saying that Shouto might be out as a tanuki but he goes through life with his human disguise, most of the time. However, his classmates will eventually get the honor of carrying him around when he doesn't want to walk.

4 - Most people however think he has a tanuki quirk, no matter how many times he tries to explain he is a tanuki. Izuku is the only one who is aware he is a mythological spirit because, as he pointed out, Aizawa's quirk doesn't work on Shouto.

4 - Shouto immediately got sus of Izuku and suspects him of being a kitsune for a while but Izuku demented and let it slip that he was actually All Might's child (Izuku didn't, Shouto heard what he wanted to hear), which is an even better theory.

5 - This is a good Todoroki family AU where Enji is an okay dad because it would make me sad to make the raccoon todoroki family miserable. He is rude and abrasive because he turns back into a raccoon when he is embarrassed, especially if it's because people are nice to him.

6 - One day, Tomura discovers that Dabi is a tanuki and he immediately gets nicer and more "!!!!" with him because he is fluffy. Dabi does not share that feeling. Dabi bites a lot in this AU.

7 - Also, Shouto was right. Izuku is indeed a kitsune in this AU. He is just hiding it like crazy.

TouShiga (Kitsune/Cursed Spirit)

Tomura doesn’t know how long it has been.

He’s lost count by the 100th sunrise, his surroundings passing by in rapid blur of shapes and colors. From green and golden summers to red and weary autumns, grey and blue winters to a bright and bloody springtime. No matter, Tomura is always where he should be: sitting on the ledge of the platform, leaning on the offering box. Just silent, waiting. For what? he doesn’t know. The moments are always fleeting.

Meanwhile He stays, perpetually watching.

What Tomura hasn’t lost count, at the very least, is the number of the slender and tipped-scorched fox tails swaying behind His back.

He had four. “I’m sorry if I was gone for so long,” Before that, He had five. “Did you miss me?”

Now, Tomura counts six. “Do you still remember my name?”

“Touya,” Tomura croaks out, like the thirsty toad at the first drop of rain. “Touya. Tou, what did you – ?”

Instantly, his lungs puff out, his mouth inexplicitly bitter. Something in the air strikes him to cry out and laugh. To stomp, to flail, to call for help, to sing to the heavens. But as soon Tomura tries too, Touya swoops in, like a swallow to the worm, embracing him in His warm and nimble arms. His tails, radiating both might and curses, envelop him on all sides, smothering him, caressing him.

“Shhh, it’s okay. You’re okay. Not a word from your pretty little mouth,” As if wiping a piece of food on his lips, Touya brings the end of sleeve to Tomura’s mouth. “There. All better. I’m so glad that you still remember.”

Tomura swallows his spit. How did you?

“Hm? Oh, you noticed! I just went to go on a hunt, that’s all!”

Tomura gulps down his bile. Why did you?

“’Cause I need to. Despite the passing times, my Father is yet to get any weaker.”

Where am I?

Touya smiles. “You’re safe here with me. Father may be powerful but he isn’t sharp enough to find us.”

No, where am I?

Touya tilts his head, blinking. “Hm? Oh you mean my home? No?”

WhERE aM I?

“Ah. I get it. I was away for too long.”

WHAT AM I?

“But don’t worry, I’m here now. It will only be a little painful, but it won’t take long, you know it doesn’t. Afterward you won’t remember another thing – ”

Tomura breathes – and finds that he couldn’t. “nO – ”

A burst of air blast through Tomura’s shoulders. But Touya’s tails keep him grounded, captured. They hide him from the onlooker who’s crossed the line that Tomura has only noticed until now. The stranger, dressed in loose robes and armed with a golden staff, stares at Touya who hisses in response.

“At last I’ve found you now, you evil Fox,” the stranger bellows. “All those burnt corpses and razed villages, have you ever thought about the families who have to deal with that loss?”

Touya frowns, a dark look crossing his gentle features. “Who dares enter a god’s abode? And with that pathetic wand?” The tails around Tomura clutch tighter. “Leave us be and I’ll reconsider killing your entire monastery.”

The stranger, no, monk squints his eyes, looking at the mess of fur and tails, then at Tomura. The monk’s anger turns from confusion, to disbelief, pity, then pure and unadulterated outrage. “You even cursed a soul, you damn beast! Is stealing and eating for you not enough?”

Touya snarls. “You know nothing! Get out of our home!”

But the monk starts chanting and Touya pounces. Everything around Tomura swirls in a mess of loud colors and bright sounds. Of snarling white, steadfast amber; hot blues and metallic yellow and the red and mesmerizing eep of a whimper.

Then, the light.

Then, the darkness.

Then, nothing.

Then –

Tomura doesn’t know how long it has been.

Tomura still remembers, at the very least, the Fox’s name, even if he can’t say it anymore.

A breeze passes through Tomura, and he shivers, nuzzling against Touya’s chest, seeking warmth. Letting out an amused sigh, Touya wraps His tails around Tomura – two around his legs, two around his torso, one on each shoulder, then on his head, leaving the last swishing behind.

Five headcanons for the crazy family tree yokai au?

Ah yes, the evil kitsune concubine AU.

Thank you for providing me with a family tree to make my point clear.

Despite having a kitsune father, Izuku is a full dragon. He has some shapeshifting powers that allow him to change his appearance (he isn't really good at it) and could look like a human or a fox but those are not his true forms. It will quickly grow uncomfortable for him. The easiest way to piss him off is when a kitsune elder urges him to "show them his fox form".

Despite both of his parents and his sister being tengu, Tenko is a kitsune because his mother's grandparent was one. The chance of a recessive gene manifesting this way were astronomically low and Tenko being a kitsune put a heavy strain on his parents' marriage. That's why he was entrusted to AFO (but really, Kurogiri, even more after AFO got trapped under a boulder).

This is a good Todoroki Family AU so Endeavor was never abusive and is friend with Inko. They met when Inko was still a snake and they were rising through the ranks. They are Inko's neighbors/live on her territory because while Enji and Rei are powerful, there were a little too many people wanting to kill them at some point and they wanted to make sure their kids could have a peaceful childhood. Alas, the Todorokis children are anything but peaceful. Their goal in life seems to make Enji's hair go fully white. He thought that Shouto would at least wait before becoming crazy like his siblings but alas, he met Izuku and since then, Enji didn't get one good night of sleep.

Every member of the Todoroki family ran away and hid in Inko's palace at least once. Yes, it includes Rei and Enji.

When Izuku was little, Inko would wake him up in the middle of the night and ask him if he wanted to go for a swim. She would carry him to a river or a sea (despite the fact they have several perfectly good pools inside the palace) and the two dragons would spend hours under water, exploring. Inko is also the one who taught young Tomura how to swim.
