Wakana Anime Classic 2020 Live Report

■ Online Live Stream Date & Time：2020/12//22 (page opens at 18:00 / live starts at 18:30～) Ticket fee:￥2,500 Tweet

The live is scheduled to start in about 30 minutes. Do not forget to tune in. Better go to the page early in case there is too much traffic. This is a fairly new streaming site and Wakana’s concert will be their very first big live stream so I am preparing myself to be met with some initial difficulties. Of course I hope there won’t be any but one never knows. As always I will do some live commenting so please look forward to that.

Wakana looks like a queen wearing a gorgeous white gown. Beautiful flower arrangements all over the stage and fancy 3D/AR art. Streaming quality sucks tho T_T I knew this would happen. Space Craft really managed to pick the worst site for this *sighs* Live2U’s servers were already struggling when people registered but apparently they didn’t feel it was necessary to do anything about it. Thank God we are getting this archived. They better provide a flawless video for the archived version. I feel really bad because they obviously put a lot of money into the production but when the streaming site sucks, it sucks. Btw, lowering your quality provides a fair bit of stability.

1. Toki ni wa Mukashi no Hanashi wo: A bit shaky initially but after the first few lines her vocals sounded solid. 2. Yasashisa ni Tsutsumareta Nara: Honestly better than the studio version. MC: 3. Kaze no Tani no Nausicaa: No thoughts yet but it was definitely nice. 4. Rain: Wakana’s live performance actually made me like this song 5. When She Loved Me: I don’t know it but WOW! I cried! So beautiful 6. Mononoke Hime: YESSSSSSSSS! THANK YOU LORD FOR BLESSING ME WITH THIS! MC: 7. Kimi wo Nosete: Ahhhhh! So good!! Can I use the opportunity to say that I really love 1966 QUARTET. Their playing is so good. They SLAY! 20 Minute Intermission (to air the hall) She is back wearing the same dress she wore for her session with Satoshi Takebe 8. Kizuato: I KNEW she would be singing Kalafina but why Kizuato XD Not among my favourite Kala-songs tbh. I was secretly hoping for “Kimi ga Hikari ni Kaete Iku” but Kizuato is probably a better fit for 1966 QUARTET’s accompaniment. Anyways, I am not mad. She sounded good. 9. Mirai: I certainly did NOT expect this :P Quite shaky at parts but some of those high notes sounded absolutely beautiful. Overall not my favourite Kala-self-cover. I think she should stick to slow ballads. 1966 QUARTET are once again showing their talent!! MC: 10: Utautai No Ballad : I thought I didn’t like this song but Wakana changed my mind 11: Get Wild: I cannot express how much I love this song. Wakana’s performance and the arrangement! PERFECTION! MC: 12: Ai ni Dekiru Koto wa Mada Aru Kai: Wakana’s version of this is so good! I don’t particularly like the original version but Wakana gives me chills the way she sings it. MC: Already the last song is coming up. 13. Yume no Yukue: One of my faves from the CD and the live version is even better! Encore: I am not sure the live stream will include the encore. According to the description, we won’t get to watch it T_T As expected, no encore in the stream. I wonder what she is gonna sing for the encore. Apparently she wore a yellow dress. Maybe the one from the photobook? It WAS the one from the pamphlet!!! I see some tweets mentioning “Country Road” from Whisper of the Heart... And she sang “magic moment”! 1966 QUARTET also played a little encore, “Radio GAGA”.

Overall thoughts: Shitty stream notwithstanding, this live was REALLY good and definitely worth my money (although it was tad shorter than I expected). I don’t want to complain too much because it is already a privilege to get to watch those lives. Hearing Wakana perform all these songs was a revelation. For the most part she sounded AMAZING and she sang some of my favourite songs from the album. And OMG, Mononoke Hime.

PS: Seems like the archived video is also lagging due to too much traffic. Will have to watch it once everyone in Japan is asleep. The video quality is definitely better in the archived version but it seems that certain sections were completely cut due to the site’s awful service during the actual live T_T. How can a streaming site like that claim to offer good service when they suck so much?? That’s pretty much fraud. I am sure they must have noticed the complaints from everyone so hopefully they will do something to improve their service. They have finally acknowledged the horrible quality of the archived video and are claiming to work on it. This is why the video is currently not available. They better fix this ASAP.

rating cwmay songs

okay nO one except me cares about this and lovelytheband is criminally underrated but yeah I wanted to do this so why not :)

flowers - on my grave - oh my god. this song. this fucking song. I need it like oxygen. I listen to it everyday. the desperateness of it gives me so many emotions. and the synth thing going on in the chorus is awesome. I think the lyrics are really interesting and incredible. it’s so catchy and while it’s sad it totally makes you wanna get up and dance. plus I think it really shows off Sam’s drumming and I’m here for that. one of those songs that just leaves you with a feeling...

i hate myself - w o a h. I love this song so much. I honestly love songs that sound like this, with funky chords and lots of fun, interesting noises. again, I love the contrast between the verse and the chorus. it starts out just with the quite, sad, and kind of bitter vocals and piano, and then there’s just an explosion of sound and it turns into a whole bop. I really love the loud drums there. you can even tell the difference in Mitchy’s voice between the points, he sounds kind of quiet and reflective on the verses, then bold and bitter on the chorus and it really makes the difference. I also like how they strayed from the typical synth after the chorus to whistling, it’s really interesting and fun.

silly - the way this song set up the end of the album... I remember listening to the album for the first time and I was just like “THIS IS SO GOOD” and then like every song after that I was just vibing to so hard. I’m alWays a whore for a good sax solo, too, which you now know from how high I rated waste. and the lyrics so exactly hit how it feels as you’re getting over someone... wondering if they really care I guess. and the way all the instruments come together to sound so uncertain, especially at the bridge, is pretty amazing. fucking amazing, honestly.

emo - oh shit. this might get long. what an incredible song. the way it just comes in with that sweeeeet guitar sound. and the first verse just already sets up the vibe of the song immediately. and the synth part that starts after the first verse and goes through the song is so catchy and fun. I love the melody on the chorus and I think Mitchy sings it amazingly. and the way it hones in on his voice near the end but then you hear those drums and you’re just like oh hEck yeah it’s not over and you get another chorus and you’re just rocking out and singing along. this song is one of the simplest on the album I would say, but it’s a nice contrast. so simple, but so good and so catchy. it’s constantly stuck in my head. love. it. so. much. makes me feel better about being called emo in middle school haha.

buzz cut - ah yes, the last single. this song got me so hyped for the album. it’s so unlike any of the other lovelytheband songs, like, it’s happy??? what is that??? in all seriousness though, they should do happy more because they do it so well, surprisingly. from the very beginning you know it’s gonna be awesome. the line “it’s only a feeling, until you make it more than that” I really like. but it’s the chorus that really makes it. I don’t know what the effect on Mitchy’s voice is but I love it so much. and to be perfectly honest I did think the post-chorus was kinda dumb until I realized that I, too define periods of my life by my hair decisions. I’m only a little disappointed they didn’t shave Mitchy’s head in the video... but I really like his hair it’s so iconic so I guess it’s a good thing. but enough of that rambling. I don’t usually like really cheesy love songs but I can’t help but love this one. it’s just being so shamelessly in love and I love that, but it also sounds more real that a lot of pop songs. it’s the kind of song that always cheers you up and makes you believe in love again.

loneliness for love - someone will probably come at me for this. sorry. it’s a bop for SURE that’s why it’s ranked six. I seriously love it, love the guitar part, love the lyrics, it’s so upbeat yet sad which I love and who can’t say it’s relatable? but I gotta say this album is so packed full of bangers it’s still sixth. it’s probably also a little because this was the first single to come out and songs are more exciting when you’ve listened to them less I would say.

waste - I really like how this one starts, sounding so distant, before it all comes in. one of my favs of the singles. the chorus though, it’s so dramatic and emotional. it really just so well describes the feeling of falling apart I guess. I can really relate to feeling stuck and wanting to give up. and I just LOVE the line of “mixing glitter with my tears” like seriously, what beautiful imagery. and the sax solo is EVERYTHING. brings the entire song together with the mournfulness, I guess. then there comes that moment where it’s suddenly all quiet and still and then BOOM it all comes out again so dramatically. definitely one of my favs. I listened to this so much when it first came out, though I have to admit, I’m vibing a little more with the newer songs now.

love somebody else - ahaha this one’s too relatable. but omg, the instrumental part after the chorus? it hits so hard. such a wordy song, unusual for lovelytheband, but I really like it. I don’t really know what’s going on in the lyrics but I do think they’re really interesting and I like to try and figure about what they mean lol. and the contrast from the verse to the chorus is awesome, the way it’s kind of cluttered and quiet to dramatic and loud simple. love it.

idwgtyp - I think this is only fourth because I’ve heard it so many times now it doesn’t have the same thrill it did at the beginning. still amazing tough. the instrumental part with all the bass in amazing. and I love how it stops and then it comes back, just building the excitement. the ending is sO satisfying as it goes down. the HUHs are a little weird though, I have to say.

i should be happy - I usually prefer lovelytheband’s more upbeat songs. but this one is really something. the quiet voice and the piano just tells so much with so little. the little sounds in the background I don’t know how to describe make it more interesting. the only thing I don’t like about this song is the weird effects on Mitchy’s voice. idk. I just don’t really like them idk why.

drive - I like this song. but I do find it a bit boring after awhile. I think it would be good at putting me to sleep and I mean that in the best possible way. very chill and pretty. but a little dull.

your favorite one - beautiful. simply. beautiful. this song gives me so many f e e l i n g s. I really like the weird robotic voices thing? it’s cool and unlike any other song, gives it an interesting vibe. and the arrangement is really, really nice. it is a bit long though, I have to say

when you’re lonely - interlude - it’s just kinda lacking substance. which makes sense for an interlude. I have no criticism, there’s just a ton of great songs on here and they can’t all be at the top. it really does hit you hard when it’s like dark, and quiet, and you’re sad and your just like w o w. it definitely hits different.

conversations with myself about you - meh. honestly I’m not a huge fan. don’t come at me. it’s not really a song it’s just some voices and then one line. I always skip it.

wow. that was honestly way harder than I expected. like I expected it to be hard, but like, the top five took forever to decide on. anyway this took me almost two hours but it was worth it. if you haven’t listened to the album yet, do it. do it now. or face the consequences. :)

anyway. this album is such a masterpiece. I loved finding it hard to smile but I gotta say I think cwmay takes the cake. I can’t wait to see what lovelytheband makes next and see if my favorites keep changing...

Soundrs: Sowfi

Hello, my name is Sofia Natália Ritter, I release my songs under the name Sowfi. I’m a brazilian beatmaker and I’m only one year truly involved with music creation (despite the fact that I play piano since nine). So even though I’ve already been involved in some projects, I have a long way to go to finally call myself a “producer.” I started getting involved with lo-fi, but lately I have been producing trap, R&B, and have started studying future bass.

What are your inspiration sources?

It is hard to think of a specific inspiration because since I was a child I always considered myself very eclectic. Sometimes I also get inspirations when I walk alone in the streets. I end up absorbing a good vibe, when I see BOOM a melody pops into my mind. But lately I’ve been listening to Vintage Culture, Clairo, Doja Cat, Heize, Epik High and Millic.

Tell us something about your workflow.

Usually a melody comes to my mind and I transfer it to my classic keyboard (very old I have to say), trying to fix some things before moving on to MIDI and building the whole thing. Also, before starting, I try to listen to songs of the genre that I intend to work to already fit the mood.

How would creative rituals benefit your workflow?

They help inspire me and relax because I sometimes get stressed because I can’t “bring my idea to life.”

How do you get in the zone?

I try to start listening to some songs, a quick meditation or try to have fun with the keyboard because sometimes a cool idea comes up.

How do you start a track?

I once read in an interview that any good melody should be possible to summarize on a simple keyboard or guitar. That’s why I don’t always start directly in MIDI. Sometimes I play my instruments (keyboard or guitar) until I can establish the main melody I want. Then I move to MIDI and try to find some cool sound to build everything else.

Do you have a special template?

I usually like to start with a simple melody (sometimes melancholic hahah), with a soft piano, bells or flutes and always guaranteed a good bass. However, every project I try to try something new.

What do you put on the master channel?

EQ: Not always, but sometimes I like to emphasize a few specific frequencies a little.

Compressor: Nothing too crazy, just to make it all sound cool and interesting together. Also, make the dynamic range more consistent.

How do you arrange and finish a track?

Make sure all the instruments are sounding cool together, structure the project depending on the genre or artist preference I am working on and ensure the effects will start on time.

How do you deal with unfinished projects?

I usually take a break and go to work on other projects, because I think when it’s not working out, if you push too hard it will end up giving a bad and forced result. There were times when I went back to work on a song (which I didn’t even remember anymore) and suddenly I thought “OMG I know now what I can do in this song!” So it takes time to get inspiration.

How do you store and organize your projects?

I have a big file where I organize all my plans, ideas, work (it’s like an online studio) and there I have a folder with projects separated by genres and collaborations. And I keep notes for every song I do with key scale and BPM information for example.

How do you take care of studio ergonomics?

I always try to keep the studio as clean as possible, but lately I am undergoing reform and I need to buy more updated equipment so I think I still can not send a photo (sorry ;-; ).

Tell us something about your daily routine, how is your day structured, how do you make room for creativity?

I’ve been decorating my room lately. If I am not making music I am probably studying about it, listening to or seeking inspiration from the outdoors. And I try to meditate to heal the mind before a new challenge.

Share a quick producing tip.

Many may already know this, but when mixing the kick and the 808s try to make sure they are not fighting for space (cuz sometimes they share certain frequency ranges and this can cause some noise). Separate them by accentuating each other’s frequency in a different range (use EQ) to avoid strange sounds coming from the low frequencies.

hadestown at the national theatre (27/12)

i had the absolute privilege to see hadestown in london this past week, and holy shit this production is so stunning. these were some of the highlights for me.

at the top of the show everybody just walks on. there’s applause of course, but all hermes does is raise his hand and then he starts ‘road to hell’

hades and persephone sit on the balcony for the first couple of scenes, watching the humans

during ‘chant I’ there’s a part in which eurydice walks home through the cold and the fates (as the wind) take her bag and her coat. i had to mention this bc it was so beautifully done

so the center part of the turntable can move up and down. everytime someone goes down they go to hadestown

‘when the chips are down’ has been my favorite song ever since i listened to the concept album for the first time years ago and i was NOT disappointed!!!!!!!

‘wait for me’ completely sold reeve carney as orpheus for me. the emotion, his voice????? 10/10. this particular arrangement of the song is also so gorgeous omg

‘why we build the wall’ is incredibly powerful. everyone is standing and it’s loud and intimidating.

eva’s version of ‘flowers’ is SO GOOD. it’s so raw and your heart really feels for her. then when she reunites with orpheus it’s all the more emotional

‘papers’ consists of a real complicated fight choreography and then out of nothing everything freezes, the light goes down and the fates sing ‘nothing changes’ and it was so chilling what the hell

the way ‘chant II’ is choreographed is just amazing. all the three turntables are spinning and it’s absolute chaos just like the song. then hades gets up on the balcony again and when he screams “I CONDUCT THE ELECTRIC CITY” the lights get superbright and it’s so impressive and intimidating

so orpheus sings ‘epic III’ and all the while hades is on a chair in a spotlight. then he gets to the lalalalala part and hades is SHOOK so he screams “how do you know that melody?!!?!??!?” then the whole company joins in (including persephone!!!) and the music cuts out so it’s a capella and it was gorgeous

when hades sings la la la la la la for the first time he sings it directly to persephone and she starts crying

then they do an argentine tango and it’s fab (patrick page and amber gray’s chemistry is amazing you guys)

‘doubt comes in’ is genius. when eurydice sings, she’s right behind orpheus, but when the fates and orpheus sing, she disappears, so you can really understand what’s going on in orpheus’ brain. the lyric change from “where are you” to “where is she” works really well bc it shows that the fates are really just messing with orpheus.

it’s heartbreaking. the setting goes back to the normal world, so you know they’re really close. the door that they need to go through is lit up. orpheus needs to take like one more step and he’s there but then he looks back. they’ve set it so that eurydice is a few paces behind him, on the turntable, so the SECOND he looks back the scene freezes for a second and then she’s lowered down. and it’s so quiet when she goes. the entire audience was shocked.

and then, as hermes sings, they change the set back to the bar from the beginning and they literally start over. eurydice reenters and she sees orpheus again for the first time, and that’s how it ends

then after the bows the whole company sings i raise my cup to him together and it’s really intimate and beautiful. also amber was crying and so was i

anyway go see this production if you have the chance!

BTS Reaction to being their crush’s bias

A/N I didn't know if you wanted the reader to be their s/o or not but I decided it made it more sense if theyre just friends but have a crush on them? I hope thats okay ^^`

Jin

Jin had finally returned from the world tour he had taken and you had been dying to see him. As soon as you received news that he had arrived, you two had arranged to hang out. So now you were sitting cross legged on the bed trying to open a bag of popcorn while Jin tried to get YouTube to work on the television.

"Jin its fine if we don't see your performances right now.. I can just watch them later." You insisted as he failed to set up once more. He stood up and put his hands on his hips while turning to look at you.

"Are you joking? No way! I want to be right here with you so I can see how surprised you are to see my handsome face on tv." He said as you finally tore the bag open and sent popcorn flying everywhere.

"... Right. You do that." You said slowly before picking the pieces up and eating them. Jin just stared at you before going back to setting it up. Truth was he knew that you looked at him when they performed, and he could only hope he'd see you do it again since he had a crush on you for like.. Forever. You were halfway through the bag when Jin finally got YouTube to work, cheering and clapping his hands excitedly as he sat besides you and started to steal some popcorn. You sat and watched their performances, awed by the band. You still couldn't believe you were friends with someone of such a popular band, they were so incredibly talented. You realized that Jin had suddenly gotten silent and took your eyes off the screen to see him smiling at you.

"What?" You asked while taking a handful of popcorn into your mouth.

"So who's your favorite?" Jin asked. You slowed your chewing, considering your options. Either you tell the truth and risk fueling his ego even more, or you lie and damage it. You swallowed and made your decision. "Honestly? You're my bias."

Jin gasped dramatically and fanned himself, making a bunch of exaggerated facial expressions before sending you a flying kiss.

"I knew you couldn't resist my charms, I truly am talented and not to mention good looking."

"Dont make me take it back”

Namjoon

You were sitting on the couch in the living room of the boys dorm, watching their performances with all of them. They had recently finished their tour in America and had invited you over to watch a rewind of their stages with them, of course you had to accept. You could barely focus on the actual show when all of the members were talking over each other, saying how Jungkook sung that note well or how Jin was behind a few steps, followed by retorts of how he was perfectly in sync.

"Guys can you be quiet? Y/N Probably cant even hear our song!" Namjoon scolded.

"Just cause you're her bias doesnt mean you can shush all of us!" Jungkook yelled out while the other members all muttered and nodded in agreement. Namjoon looked at them in surprise and then at you.

"What.. No I'm not... Am I?" He asked, looking legitimately confused. You honestly thought he knew. You laughed as the others all looked at you to await your answer.

"I thought it was obvious? Yeah, you're my bias." Once you said that, Namjoon covered his face and looked away so you wouldn't see him blushing. Jimin immidiately poked fun at him for getting embarrassed but Namjoon was too busy smiling at the fact that he was your bias to care.

"Stop poking me Jimin, maybe you'd be their bias too if you were the tallest."

Yoongi

That morning you woke up early to your phone ringing right in your ear. You answered the phone half asleep, not even knowing who it was until you heard Yoongi's voice on the other line asking you if you wanted to accompany him to practice. You sleepily agreed before hanging up, getting ready and dropping by later in the day.

"I mean yeah. Yoongi's my bias." You admitted to Namjoon who had started up a conversation during their break.

Yoongi, who had been trying to take a drink, choked on his water when he heard you and broke out into a coughing fit. You looked over at him in concern as he coughed a couple more times and cleared his throat, waving his hand around to signal that he was okay.

"I am? I mean- yeah. Of course I am." He coughed a final time and looked away so you couldn't see him blushing. The rest of the practice, Yoongi couldn't help but get nervous. He did have a major crush on you and the fact that you biased him only made him even more nervous.. But you can fully expect him to use this against you. One day you might not want to do something with him and he'll just give you a knowing look that you can't resist.

"...Not even for your bias?"

J-Hope

You didn't know why you had agreed to playing Truth or Dare with Hoseok and his friends, you knew you were gonna suffer. Yet here you were, watching Jin complete his dare of trying not to laugh for a minute straight, only for Jimin's aegyo to send him over the edge with laughter and make everyone scream with cringe. At least it was temporary, unlike Jungkook whom had to yell for the remainder of the game thanks to Namjoon's dare.

"Y/N, TRUTH OR DARE?" Jungkook yelled at you, making you jump.

This could possibly be the most vital decision you were going to make in your life. Either you pick dare and risk having to do some crazy stunt for the members entertainment, or you pick truth and risk being asked something revealing that they'll never let you live down. You swallowed nervously, deciding you preferred verbal embarrassment over doing something physically ridiculous.

"Truth." You answered. Jungkook thought for a second, then his face lit up.

"WHO'S YOUR BIAS??"

Oh no. This was it. All seven members cheered at Jungkook's choice in question before leaning in to await your answer. You looked at all of their faces, from Taehyung's sweet smile and Jin winking to bribe you into picking him, then to Hoseok's bright grin. You sighed, pressing your lips together before pointing to Hoseok as your bias. The dorm interuppted into chaos once more. They all attacked Hobi which was busy with screaming with both excitement that his crush had just called him their bias, and fear that the members were all currently crowding around him.

"I'm sorry my good looks are too much for Y/N, don't attack me!"

Jimin

"Y/N!" Jimin called out to you while you were eating on the couch, watching BTS' choreography to Go Go.

You looked up with a noodle sticking out of the corner of your mouth, quickly slurping it up. ".. Yes?"

"You're watching Go Go without me I told you to waiiiit." He whined before taking a seat besides you and settling his own bowl of ramen noodles in his lap. You laughed and wiped your mouth.

"I'm sorry, you took too long." You two had been friends for a long time, but you'd been lacking a lot of quality time with him. Jimin had been so busy with the new album coming out that he didn't even time to reply to messages sometimes, so when he finally got a break you immidiately asked him to hang out.

"Your outfits and dance moves to this dance are so cute. Omg, look at Taehyung." You smiled when you saw him take the spotlight. Jimin looked up from his bowl of noodles, staring at you with puppy dog eyes.

"Y/N I can not believe you, I am Park Jimin, your best friend, the man whom has been at your side through thick and thin, the groups mochi, yet you compliment Kim Taehyung!" He put his hand on his chest dramatically, pretending to be hurt. Truth was though,, the guy was crushing on you. Big time.

"Chill Jimin, I was just kidding! You know you're my bias." You smiled, and Jimin looked like he had just been shot. He turned into a giggly mess and looked away, he didn't actually expect you to say that.

"Wait, really?"

Taehyung

"Dude." Taehyung said, rolling over and shining his phone light into your face.

"Taehyung I'm trying to sleep." You muttered tiredly, opening your eyes to look at him. Taehyung had barely gotten back from his MAMA performance a day ago, and not knowing when you two could hang out again you'd asked him to come over. But then it started snowing, a lot. Taehyung complained about the cold until you finally told him to just sleep over and you two built a blanket fort. But you had ended up getting sleepy, though Taehyung didn't seem to be sleeping anytime soon.

"Do you think the fans like me?" He asked. You frowned, rubbing the sleepiness from your eyes before propping yourself onto your elbow.

"Of course they do Tae.. Why are you asking?" You said as he turned his phone back to him and then turned it off, covering you two in darkness.

"I don't know.. Just doubtful, I guess." He said. Sometimes Taehyung would confide in you with his feelings, and even though it was late and you were tired, you always heard him out.

"Are you serious? You're Kim freaking Taehyung, BTS' visual, their sweet boy, a caring bean, a meme, the one with the box smile, the one who won most handsome face, the one with a laugh that plEASES THE GODS." You could go on but Taehyung cut you off by hitting you with his pillow, laughing. "You didn't let me finish! And, and you're my bias." You added. Taehyung was glad the lights were off so you couldn't see him blushing at your words.

"Thank you, Y/N."

Jungkook

You and Jungkook were walking around town going shopping, something you had missed for a long time. Jungkook's schedule made it hard for you two to have time for each other, you only ever had time for the occasional text or a call if you were really lucky. But with Jungkook having a break from his schedule, you took the oppurtunity to go out and do something together. Jungkook was just as excited- if not more, to finally be spending the day with you. He refused to admit it, but he had started developing feelings for you and being away for so long was torture.

"Y/N look I'm Hoseok." Jungkook said before pulling a beanie over his head like Hoseok was always seen wearing them. You laughed and shook your head at him.

"Aww poor Hoseok, leave your members alone." You had just finished saying your sentence when Jungkook turned to look at you, his brown eyes wide.

"Why are you defending my hyungs and not the golden maknae?" He asked you. "I thought I was your one and only, your friend, your comrade, partner in crime, the one you choose over anyone else, YOUR PICO DE GALLO, but I guess I was wrong. My own best friend biases Hoseok over me." Jungkook dramatically clutched his chest and sobbed. You didn’t even know what the heck ‘pico de gallo’ meant. (it’s a Spanish dish but can also be a saying for close friends- at least where i’m from lmao)

"Noo, Jungkook, you're my bias!" You insisted while coming up to him, he looked at you in surprise,

"Am I really?"

"No, my bias is Yoongi."

"Are you serious??"

"I'm kidding, it's you."

"STOP CONFUSING ME."

You laughed at his expression. "Okay, no I'm serious. You're actually my bias." Jungkooks face lit up again, hoping he didn't look as excited as he actually felt.

"Oh uh.. O-Of course I am I mean.. who wouldn’t fall for this talented and handsome face right?”

After a month and a half of deeeeep searching you finally find a reasonably priced place to live in

It’s quite a distance from your parents’ home but it’s the point of you moving out to begin with

On the move-in day, you’re carrying your boxes up to your new apartment complex and you hear some tunes drifting from your next door neighbor

And you’re like hey this is actually really good music but i’ve never heard of it

You shrug it off and continue settling in

Once you finished hauling your boxes, you were about to pass out on your couch

Ok you actually did pass out on your couch

But you had to unpack some necessities later that night for bathroom and bedroom purposes

All you had for dinner was pop in some instant ramen and call it a night. You then hopped in the shower and got ready for bed

The following morning it was primarily you unpacking and shifting around your furniture a little but it was challenging by yourself

You were making a good amount of noise and in the middle of the day you were met with a very loud knock on your door

And you were in the middle of unpacking your kitchenware so you were like oh shoot ahh i’ll be right there!!

Little did you know your next door neighbor wasn’t having any of it

Can’t I get some peace and quiet around here? He grumbled as he impatiently waited for you to open the door

I swear, I’m gonna tell them off they won’t even knOW what will hit--

You finally opened the door, and he’s like oh. My gosh.

You had a few pieces of hair sticking to your forehead and your hair was tied back in a messy bun

You were dressed in a faded coral tee underneath a pair of worn-out denim overalls with house slippers

Everything he planned to complain about suddenly vanished and his first thought was:

“Is that Pikachu on your front pocket?”

Apparently he said that aloud, which he didn’t register until he saw you giggling

“Yeah, it was a hand-me-down! Still cute, right?”

And he’s kinda still just staring at you with his mouth slightly agape

And you’re like oh right ahem did you need anything?

That’s when he notices the utter mess behind you: plastic covering still over some of your furniture, half-emptied boxes littered in almost every inch of the floor, etc.

And that’s when it hits him: all that noise was you unpacking

“O-oh yeah, I just,, wanted to let you know that it was getting a little loud since I live right next door”

He silently curses at himself like i almost went off at my new neighbor rip that wasn’t gonna be a good first impression

Luckily for him, you were chill about it and you’re like omg sorry!!! It’s a little tough doing this by myself, sorry for the ruckus

Before he could stop himself, he blurted out, “do you need any help?”

Jihoon internally: u doofus u have an album to produce whAT ARE U DOING

Jihoon externally: i can help you :))) no matter how smol i may be

But that internal reprimanding melted away when he saw your eyes light up in relief and you’re practically bouncing up and down

“Would you, really??? It would be great if I had another hand around! Oh, but you’re probably occupied doing something, right??” and you feel bad that a stranger, your next door neighbor nonetheless, was about to abandon his work just for you

A cute neighbor, at that

Jihoon is like ok this is your chance to get away and go back to work cmon man

But there’s just something about you that pulls him in magnetically and he finds himself trying to reason internally that it’ll just be for a “few moments”

Yyyeaaahhh that doesn’t happen lmao rip Jihoon’s songs

Jihoon is just like “nah it’s fine I can help out for a bit” and you’re like god bless this human being

When you open your door further to let him in, he’s like oh right btw I’m Jihoon

“I’m y/n! Sorry about the mess, I only got here yesterday evening”

He shakes his head and quirks up his lips ever so slightly, “i remember when my place looked like this too except replace this space with music production things”

And you’re like ooOOoOoOO you make songs??? That’s amazing!!

And that’s when you got the ball rolling!!!

“A few moments” turn into hours and the next thing you know it’s dinnertime

“Oh crap sorry for keeping you for this long,,, those songs won’t produce themselves, right? I think I can take it from here”

Admittedly, jihoon didn’t wanna leave just yet bc he actually enjoyed your company and it was nice taking a break from staring at his screen frustratedly

“Well, I don’t mind helping out. I could show you my work one day if you want”

And you’re like holy cheeseballs yES

He starts getting up and brushing off his clothes and you’re a little sad that he’s leaving and he kinda is too :(

“If you’re not too busy tomorrow, you’re welcome to help me out more! I mean, you already helped me a whole lot today, but there’s still some things left to do”

As much as his brain is telling him to NOT DO IT,,,,

He does it

Next thing you know, jihoon is at your door again around the same time and he has something in his hand

As you let him inside, you ask him what it is and he’s like ;))))

“It’s a CD that compiled just a few songs I thought you might like”

And you’re #shook bc did he really just have a CD like this out in the open or did he really take his time yesterday to transfer songs on it??

“Do you have a player or a laptop?”

“Yeah, my laptop is on my bed, you can bring it out here!” You shout over your shoulder as you arrange your things in the living room

Shortly afterwards he emerges from the hallway and he presses a few buttons and clicks here and there and beautiful melodies ring out from your speakers

You can’t help but stop rustling to take in the sweet tunes and you’re just like :’))) have i heard anything so beautiful??? :’)))

One of the songs sound vaguely familiar and you realize it’s what you heard when you first arrived here

“Did you actually produce this??? This sounds like an actual song you can hear on the radio”

And he’s like yep made by yours truly!!!

He was only using “yours truly” half-metaphorically if you know what I mean ;)))

You keep bouncing to all the catchy tunes and swaying to the soulful ones

And in all honesty, seeing your reactions makes Jihoon feel really warm and even a little proud bc it’s one of the biggest reasons why he loves his job so much

He makes eye contact with you and you’re like :D and he’s like ahEM COuGh coUGh i’m gonna dust this shelf over here

He suddenly stands up and busies himself and you’re like ???? okie dokie

He’s a real help around the place and you’re practically done settling in

As you survey your fresh living space, you can’t help but feel a little…. Disheartened?

Bc it was actually really fun to have him around even while he made blunt remarks about your taste of decorations

“This looks like something my five-year-old niece would have”

“For your information, I got that from a five-year-old!! It’s cute, alright!”

You spent the past three days with Jihoon unpacking and talking about whatever comes to mind

Jihoon is pretty devastated that he has to go back to his makeshift studio in his room as much as he will never admit it

He eventually leaves your place and the both of you are just sad little puppies

From then on, every time you pass by each other, you greet him with a friendly smile and wave and you never fail to make his heart skip several beats

You don’t talk as much as how you first started bc he’s gotten much busier trying to mass-produce a lot of songs

For some strange reason, every time you hear a melody coming from the other side of the walls, you feel like you’re somehow connected with him

Well, except for the muffled cursing LMAO

And sometimes you would also hear several male voices at once and you’re guessing they’re his friends or the people he’s working with on the song, but based on their friendly banter and the constant run-throughs, it’s probably both

You would hear the same melody play over and over again, and you’re guessing he’s stuck on a certain part of a song as he tries to recreate new melodies from that point on

“aaAAGHGHHHGGHHHH” *deep sigh* me trying to overcome writer’s block LMAO

This would happen for about half an hour and you can’t help but wanting to reach out to him, but you’re not exactly the most musically-inclined person sadly

When he ultimately calms down, he goes back to working on the song until he finally gets the results he desires

More often than not, you fall asleep from hearing the slow ballads he creates with a smile on your face

Lil Jihoon does try to visit you and vice versa!! He sometimes shows up with random food and more CDs and you’re wondering just how many songs has this guy produced in his lifetime??? He looks around the same age as you but he’s probably produced 26+ songs by the way he packs a decent amount on each CD

Usually his excuse to sharing a meal with you is that “the guys brought over too much and i have a ton of leftovers that i can’t finish by myself”

In reality, he stared at a restaurant’s menu and contemplated for about twenty minutes about what you would like. This guy’s got dedication not just for work

“Would it be weird if i get fried chicken?? Maybe just a bowl of noodles?? What if soup is better??? It would give weird vibes if i bought drinks too, right?? Or should i just go ahead and buy them???”

Regardless of what he buys, you’re eager to eat anything and everything with your fav neighbor *wink wonk*

You feel bad when he would do that though, so you try to return the favor every so often as well

One time, you ordered some takeout but the servings were waaaaay bigger than advertised and you’re like Idea!! Let’s head over next door!! So you took the plastic bags and put in some drinks before heading out the door

You knocked on the door and that was when you heard light chatter on the other side of the door

You’re like sldjfljds i hope im not interrupting anything aaa mAYBE I SHOULD JUST LEAVE--

Too late, someone’s voice rang out “I’ll get it!” and next thing you know, the door swings out to reveal a face you’ve never seen before

“Oh, hi!” He says a little surprisedly but with a smile nevertheless

“H-hi, umm,,,, is Jihoon there?”

The guy is nodding his head in the direction of the back hallway, “yeah, he’s in the bathroom” and that’s when he looks down at your hands and his eyes instantly light up

“I just wanted to give him some of this,” you hold up your hands to gesture your food, “since it’s too much for me to finish on my own”

“Oh that’s cool! Some of the other guys are actually out to get more lunch, but food goes out fast with all of us here,” another guy says as he pats your shoulder reassuringly. “Well, since you’re already here, you can join us!”

“I-it’s ok! I hope I wasn’t interrupting anything, I just wanted to deliver this,,, I’ll get going” and you’re about to zOOM outta there but the same guy who ushered you in is like nO DONT LEAVE

“We’re taking a lunch break, so it’s cool if you join us! I’m Soonyoung” and he’s like :DDD and you’re just like ,,,, what a hyper guy but i like him

Everyone goes around to introducing themselves

you do a headcount of 8 and you remember there’s more guys getting food for them,,,, holy heck how many people do they have???? You’re about to introduce yourself after them but then

“Soonyoung, who was at the door--” a familiar voice calls out in the hallway before he emerges

And jihoon is like dsljLSJDF what the hELL

“Y/N??? What are you doing here???” *side eyes soonyoung*

And everyone’s making eyes at each other like waIT WAIT THIS IS Y/N???

“Soonyoung dragged me inside”

“Gdi soonyoung, how many times do i have to tell you that you can’t go around dragging people to join us???”

This guy who you think is named Seokmin pipes up, “yeah he does this all the time at our workplace too. A lot of our coworkers always end up extending their stay for far too long” and you’re nodding slowly like yeahhh i can see that happening

Soonyoung’s eyes are widened and he turns to jihoon like “is this the y/n that inspired your recent so--”

And jihoon is quick to cover his mouth so his voice is all muffled

“aHahaAHHAH soonyoung’s always the joker, april fools day!!! Let’s set the table, the others should be back soon”

jihoon whispering to soonyoung: you better sleep with one eye open tonight boi

And you’re like uhh alrighty :)))???

About twenty minutes after you’ve arrived, there’s another knock on the door

Soonyoung is practically bouncing on his way to the door and you can hear more unknown voices

They’re filing in and they suddenly stop and look at you like wait what

Jeonghan briefly explains the situation to the guy who came in the door first and you’re lowkey intimidated bc he seems to be eldest and looks like he could beat you up to a pulp

BOY WERE YOU WRONG

After jeonghan tells him, he breaks out into this gigantic, cute gummy smile like welcome!! :DD i’m seungcheol! And the other guys behind him follow suit

Jeonghan’s like “this is,, y/n” and everyone tries to be subtle and nods like they didn’t hear jihoon babble on and on about you for weeks

You: ok why do yall act all weird when my name is brought up whAT DID JIHOON TELL YOU

Them: i would tell you but i don’t wanna die just yet sorry dude

Jihoon, somewhere in the kitchen: SET! THE! TABLE!

You end up staying there for a pretty long time, bonding over the whole feast you have and it’s really lively and fun, not to mention super loud with 13 guys in the same room,,, but you’re genuinely having a good time

Jihoon would glance at you nervously occasionally to check on you if you’re uncomfortable in any way

Jeonghan, who’s sitting next to him, notices jihoon’s eyes are practically glued to you and he’s like “is this the part where you confess your undying love and propose”

And jihoon is like shUT UP NO WHAT this chicken tastes great *quickly chugs down water*

You look back at jihoon sometimes and see he looks flushed but it’s not like he’s drinking alcohol

“Jihoon are you feeling ok?? Your ears are bright red” which obviously makes them redder rip

“I-i’m fine,, wow is it hot in here maybe it’s just the spiciness of the chicken let’s open the windows”

You eventually leave them as much as they protest and even try to get Jihoon to guilt trip you (unsuccessfully)

“Don’t leave just yet y/n!! You should stay, right Jihoon???”

“Huh?? O-oh yeah, I mean, you can if you want,,,,, we kinda need to work though”

Everyone’s looking at jihoon like bro wTF are u kidding me

You’re feeling slightly dejected but you nod understandingly. You’ve already stayed far longer than you anticipated anyways, and work comes first for Jihoon

“Yeah, I totally get it! Good luck on the album guys!” You put on your shoes and close the door

When they finally hear your own door close, they’re attacking jihoon like

“SO Y/N IS THE ONE BEHIND ALL YOUR SAPPY LOVE SONGS HUH!!!”

“I knew it, the lyrics just suddenly got cheesier -- there had to be someone behind all of that”

And jihoon is just praying you won’t hear what they’re saying like “SHUT UP THESE WALLS ARE THIN”

Back at your apartment, it suddenly feels much emptier and lonelier

“What am i doing,,, I just met the guys for like two hours???”

You sigh and you try to busy yourself doing other things but you hear a loud commotion on the other side of the walls with just a bunch of incoherent shouting

You smile and laugh to yourself when you think about how close they all are

Your smile slowly fades when you start wishing you wanna be close to Jihoon and you’re like snAP OUT OF IT!!!

A couple of weeks pass by uneventfully but you notice that Jihoon has gotten more reserved around you

It’s just him being bashful around you and he panics every time he sees you but obviously he doesn’t want you to know that

You’re standing at your little mini balcony and admiring your cute little cactus plants

Just as you start thinking about him and his wellbeing, you hear your name and you’re like wHO’S THERE

You look down and see Jihoon staring back at you and honestly he looks like he’s awestruck by your whole beauty bc seriously everything you wear always looks super good to him

He holds up his hands and you’re laughing bc you know exactly what that means

“Come on up!”

There’s a knock on your door promptly afterwards and what do you know!!! It’s the man himself!!!

It’s just funny how the both of you have this ongoing routine that you know what to expect

When you let him in, he places the bags on your table and quickly smiles to himself when he sees your laptop on your bed

You and Jihoon both mindlessly do your respective roles as usual

He slowly comes out in the living room with your laptop and he’s like “so the album is pretty much done now,,, i can’t release all of the songs yet but there’s one i want you to listen to. I’ll show you after we eat”

You’re like ooo im excited and you start catching up with him as you’re eating

You can’t contain your excitement any longer, so as soon as you eat the last bit of your food, you’re like “oKAY SHOW ME IT NOW” as you’re restlessly shifting on your legs

He nods and pulls up the media player on your laptop. He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath before pressing play

It’s a melody you’re quite acquaintanced with after hearing it countless times at night, the same tune that lulls you to sleep

You have high expectations for this song, and surely he surpasses them with flying colors

You’re enjoying the song and telling him “wow this is a really good song!” when suddenly some lyrics catch your attention

You hear something about messy hair pulled back, ruffled clothes, eating meals

And you’re like huh that sounds a lot like us haha is that supposed to be me??

Jihoon is avoiding eye contact with you and looking down at his fidgeting hands as the song progresses in its later verses

The lyrics talk about wanting to develop a deeper relationship, one where “it’s okay to tell me anything, your hardships and desires. I just want to see you smile” and you’re like wait,,,,

And one of the final lyrics says something about “i can’t help feeling like this, will you accept my hand?” and you’re like wait wait w a i t

The song comes to an end and silence fills the room

You’re not sure whether you should speak up first or wait for him, but either way you’re speechless and wouldn’t know what to say anyways

Jihoon clears his throat awkwardly and stumbles on his words poor bby

“S-so, yeah,,,, I’ve been working on this one the longest,,,, umm do you,,, like it?”

But you know better that he’s not just talking about the song

“Nah sorry man i’m not interested”

“O.”

April fools kiddos ofc you are

“....yeah. I do like it”

And he finally brings himself to look at you and he’s like !!!!! really????

“Wait, for real??? You actually like it???”

He’s pretty much paralyzed in shock and all he can do is watch your hand move towards his and hold it

“I like it a lot, Jihoon :)”

He blinks slowly and he can’t fight the grin that spreads on his face as he grips your hand back

“I’m accepting your hand now heehee ^^”

You were an trainee from JYP company for a year now, and as the leader of the group you put a lot of effort to the performances you needed to do. You used to stay until later night practicing and creating new choreographies for the monthly tests that you needed to perform to the CEO JY.

One day you stayed until late (again) trying to finish one of your new choreographies, when you were finally done and ready to go back to your dorm, it was raining so hard that it seemed like the world was going to drown. "Oh shit..." Your deception face was undeniable.

"Are you okay?" You heard someone ask, and when you turned to see who that is you got nervous. It was Jinyoung from Got7! He was your bias and you were freaking out a little bit to see him so close for the first time. Of course you saw him and the boys sometimes on the building, but they were just passing by and didn't even notice you or your group, but now that he was so close to you, it gave chills all over your body.

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine." I came back from my frozen self and answered him. " Is just raining so much and I forgot to bring an umbrella." You explained the situation to him.

"I think I have one in the dance room with me. If you wait a little bit more I can drop you off in your house." This was really happening? Jinyoung is offering his precious time to take you home? That was just unbelievable.

"Thank you so much!" You smiled to him as he did the same.

" Do you want to come to the dance room and wait for me there?" He pointed to the stairs, inviting you to go up to the dance room.

"Yes, of course. If I don't bother you." You felt happy and nervous, you were really curious to know what is he working on in the dance room, but didn't want to be a problem.

"No you're good. I'm just trying to make a new choreography to one of the new Got7 songs." And both of you headed to the stairs and arriving at the room. He looked friendly, and you were feeling more comfortable around him.

You sat on the chair in the back of the room just looking what he was going to do. He pressed the play button and danced at some parts in the song. Your head begun to work, thinking and creating moves that could work out in the song. You felt the beat of the music on your ears and ticking your fingers at your thigh a explosion of moves and ideas came. Felling his frustration face through the mirror you stoop up.

"Seonbae Jinyoung... can I show you something?" He turned to face you.

"Hum?" He was so filled with his own thoughts that he didn't hear you.

"I think I can help you with the choreography, only if you want to." You stepped forward waiting for an answer.

"Sure. I'm having some trouble with my imagination for new moves, so any help will be good." He called you to come closer to him. You spent another hour setting the whole choreography with him. When you were done, and got out of the dance room to go back home, you noticed the rain stopped, so you tuned to him on the building door.

"Thank you Jinyoung-ssi for letting me help you! It was awesome working with you." You bowed to him.

"I need to thank you. If you did not have helped me I would be stuck in that room til the morning." He smiled to you as a way to say thanks.

"Well, I think is time to go home. See you around..." You started to walk and wave at him.

"Y/N wait!" You looked back to when you felt Jinyoung grabbing your arm. "Let me at least walk you back home. You spend another hour helping me, it is the least I can do."

"Oh thank you! It is really nice of you Jinyoung-ssi." You smiled to him. Excitement flowed on your body, you was being walked home by your bias! "Oh don't call me like that, call me oppa."

"Oh..okay." You controlled yourself, you felt your cheeks get hot, part of you wanted to smile and jump, and the other part wanted to run away. The conversation between you two was so good. He understood you like no one else would, it almost looked like you were friends since forever. When you arrived at the building you door was, you stopped.

"Thank you for walking me here!" A smile got out of your mouth.

"No problem, it was my pleasure. We should hang out another time." You two exchanged looks and smiled at each other.

"Yes, I loved your company! See you Jinyoung oppa." You started walking to the building, and looked back to see him standing there looking at you. When you entered on the elevator, you was not believing what happened. You leaned on the elevator wall and sat down, not handling how to stop smiling, your hands went to your face covering your shyness.

Some months passed and you were working harder than before. The CEO decided your group will debut in 2 months. Your excitement was mixed with tiredness, you and the girls were working hard to get done with the musics for the album. You heard your phone ring and looked at the screen, a smile slipped put of your face.

"Jinyoung-ssi sent you a message Y/N?" One of your group members asked in a playful way. Your attention went to her.

"Stop! We are just friends..." You smiled to her saying it. You and Jinyoung begun to talk more each time, creating a great friendship.

"You wish you were more than just friends, that I know." Another member said. You looked at her with amusement.

He was the only person that could make your day better, and you always texted each other. He was in the building too, recording some songs with the guys. After some times your group members went home and you stayed to get done with some arrangements a song, and when you did all the work you were leaving the building. Your phone rang again and I was other message from Jinyoung.

-Hey can we meet? I really need to tell you something.-

-Can it be tomorrow? I'm going back to my dorm right now, but tomorrow we talk for sure. :)-

You put your phone cack on you bag and headed outside. For your luck, it was raining again, and like always you forgot to get a umbrella.

"It'll be like this." You put your jacket on and pressed your bag and stepped outside. After walking for 2 minutes on the street the rain got harder. "Really..." You buffed in disbelief.

You felt your hair completely wet, well not only your hair, but you. You stopped in the middle of the sidewalk, considering to go back to the building until the rain stop, or keep going home since you were all wet. When you heard a sound of a voice, a very familiar one. You turned around to see a equally soaked Jinyoung.

"What the heck Jinyoung oppa?!" You didn't understand why he was there with you.

"I need to tell you something. I already told you." He looked euphoric, like he drank a hundred energetic bottles.

"I'm sorry I didn't know it is so important." You looked at him, trying to stay normal. You felt your heart beat increase, like every time you were with him. Especially now, he was inches away from you.

"So, what is it?" You felt each rain drop fall in your face, they were cold, but it felt good. You looked at Jinyoung, waiting for an answer, but all he did was look at you. You noticed he was staring at your mouth, and coming close to you. "So..." you bend back as nervousness was increasing.

Inches were separating both of you, but in a question of seconds your lips were touching. He put his hand on your waist, pulling you closer. It was sweet and unique. Both of your hands stopped on his neck. You weren't believing it was really happening. You two parted, and when you recover yourself and looked at him he was smiling.

" I want to say that... I brought you an umbrella. " He giggled. You smiled at him feeling shy to say anything. You didn't notice that he was holding a little black umbrella on the other hands.

"I think we don't need it anymore since we're soaking wet." You looked at both yours and his clothes. He opened the umbrella and put it above you.

"So at least let me walk you back home?" He gave his arm to me and I hold it, and we walked back my dorm.

In today’s society, it’s a lot easier to criticize and be mean, than it is to support, love, and boost others confidence. It’s easier to destroy than it is to build. Let’s be cognizant of this and raise our awareness towards who we direct our negative energy at. Everyone has those days where they’re not feeling someone or something is not going their way, but what’s important is how you deal with those negative energies.

Bullying someone who doesn’t think it’s funny, cool, or positive is not a good use of that negative energy, it’s unnecessarily creating more of it. If you want to be mean, go find another bully and pick on someone your own size (mentally and physically). Empathy goes a long way.

You will hardly see professionals at the highest level berate others below them because it’s not a good working habit. Start developing good habits young and do to others as you would have them do to you.
