Hey there! Another blurb from my mind. Pairing: Penny Polendina x Reader Summary: It was a hard day at work and just in general. Luckily, Penny's here to save the day! Word count: 352

The day was rough. You couldn’t focus. Everything was loud. It was too bright. Customers were absolute assholes today.. You just smiled and dealt with it.

It’ll be over soon, you told yourself. But it was all so overwhelming, and you were just so done with it all. You just wanted to curl up in a corner, and forget about it all for a while.

You managed the curl up into a ball part. 

You were headed for your break. Being the only one in the break room, you shut the door, sat down on the floor in the farthest corner, and stared ahead, slightly dazed.

But that didn’t last long, as everything from the day suddenly settled in your bones. The rudeness, the sensory issues… Before you knew it, tears had started falling and a choked sob escaped your throat. 

You were too engulfed in your thoughts to notice the knocking on the door, or the sweet voice calling out for you. Penny was outside (your coworkers let her roam freely in the employees only area because.. Well how can you say no to her?) and she eventually opened the door.

“Saaalutations Pa- partner-???” Penny sped over immediately, crouched by your side and wrapped you up in a hug.

“Dear, what’s wrong-??” You melt into her embrace, and let yourself cry a little harder. Forming words was too hard at that moment, so you simply opted for hugging her back and squeezing her tightly.

While Penny wasn’t the best at understanding social cues, she seemed to have you all figured out. Knowing better than to continue prodding for answers, Penny simply held you close, running comforting circles on your back as you cried quietly. 

“Do not worry, dear… I’m here.. We can speak whenever you’re ready..” She pressed a kiss to the top of your head.

“Would you like it if I continued talking?” Penny felt you shake your head, and she nodded, and silently continued her ministrations.

You took comfort in the silence and the presence of Penny, her scent and embrace calmed you.

Slowly.. You started feeling alright again.

Weiss is a siren and she drags Yang down to turn her into a siren as well.

(This isnt normally in a siren's skill set, but.... I think I have something that can work.)

Weiss peeked out of the water, making sure not to pop too far out and keeping to the shadows as she watched a woman at the edge of the lake. A smile crossed her lips as she bit her lip and moved closer to the shore, webbed fingers slicing through the water to pull her closer with ease. Normally, this would be her chance for an easy meal. All she had to do was sing to the maiden and pull her under and no one would notice she was gone. But this woman was different. This blonde was one that she had been watching for months and had fallen in love with after a few attempts to sway her as a meal. The only woman who seemed to never be enticed by her siren song, yet still willing to sit so close to the shore and try to talk as if seeing an old friend. 

No, this time, Weiss wasnt in search of an easy meal, but for a lover that she could keep by her side. Someone who could resist the call of a siren, and here she had the perfect candidate waiting for her. Though, there was one little thing that was going to have to change, even if she needed a little outside help. 

“Weiss?” The blonde called. “Are you out here today?” 

Weiss slowly poked her head out of the water a little closer to the shore and pulled herself out onto one of the rocks, her hair draping down her back. “Until this lake runs out of food for me, I’ll always be here.” 

“R-right. I uh… I dont know, I thought you might’ve gotten run out by the fishers that came by yesterday.” 

“As if they’d ever drive me out,” Weiss said as she rolled her eyes and ran a clawed hand down the scales of her arm. Her eyes almost seemed to gleam in the sunlight as she laid out to bask in the rays of the sun, her voice starting to sound like a song as she spoke. “No matter how many men they use, I’ll never leave my home.”

“What about to get to your family.” 

Weiss sat up a bit. “You know I dont have any family, Yang. At least not in the sense that you mean.” 

“Oh… right…” Yang sighed and cast her fishing line into the water and sat her fishing pole down next to her. “Must be lonely.” 

“It can be. Though, I think my luck may change soon.” 

“How so?” 

Weiss slid back into the water and made her way to the shore, a smirk on her face as she stopped in front of Yang. “I think I’ve found the one I’ve been looking for all along.” 

Yang smiled a bit. “You should bring him around then. I’d love to meet another merfolk, though, I’m not sure I’ll be able to be around much longer.” 

“And why not? Things not going well at home?” 

“Sorta.” Yang sighed and tied a small bell to the end of her rod. “Dad’s been gone a lot longer than normal on his fishing trip and Ruby needs me to stay around closer to her. Not that she cant manage without me, but… she needs to focus on her studies and not have to worry about anything else. Which means I’ll need to take work closer to home.” 

Weiss paused for a moment as she looked the human woman over. Taking her away from family would probably only do more harm than good, but it wasnt like she was really doing much with her life to begin with. “Then maybe you should help her find someone she can be with.”

“Its not that simple. Humans take time to get to know the ones they want to spend time with and to love. We cant just find someone on a whim and go with it?” 

Weiss nodded and pulled herself onto the shore, lifting herself up a bit. “And what do you think of me?” 

“I… what?” 

“You heard my question: what exactly do you think of me? You keep coming back here, you look for me, you worry about me… what am I to you?” 

Yang blushed and adjusted her position at the edge of the beach. “I-I see you as a friend. And I do care about you in a way I care about my sister.” 

“Show me.” 

“What?” 

“Show me what I mean to you. The same way you would your sister.” 

“I… I dont know…” Yang sighed and leaned forward a bit. “Do you have homework you need help with-” 

Weiss reached up and put her hands against Yang’s cheeks, claws gently moving across her skin, being careful not to hurt her. “Dont you think you’ve deserved a chance to live your own life?” she asked in a hushed whisper. “One where you dont need to worry about your sister. One where you can be yourself without any worry. I can give that to you if you show me exactly what I mean to you.” 

“Weiss… I… I…” 

Weiss didnt wait and pulled Yang into a kiss, holding her tightly as her claws dug into her. With a grin, she pulled Yang back into the water and dragged her deep under the water, breathing air into her lungs. A small necklace floated out from a small pouch she wore on her side and she slipped it around Yang’s neck, breaking the kiss as she watched her lover try to swim to the surface. Her eyes stayed glued to Yang as she watched her skin glitter like scales, her smile widening. “You’ll understand this soon enough, Yang. You’re mine and I wont let you go.”

So I’ve been playing around with an idea for yet another DC and RWBY crossover. Hunter’s of Justice is still one of my favorite fics, and I’ve struggled with how to make this unique from it. Well, I finally figured it out.

Emerald.

My idea is that, in an alt version of Volume 8, Emerald is killed by Cinder for her betrayal and awakens in Gotham City with no memories. In an unfamiliar city in an unfamiliar world, she lapses into old habits to survive (thievery) which results in her running into the Batgirls (Steph and Cass) who she manages to evade via her semblance, which leads to an encounter with Batman. Batman would manage to take down Emerald thanks to Oracle telling him where she is via security feeds.

Upon hearing out Emerald (mostly at Steph’s insistence) Bruce decides to let her go, but on conditions. The first being no crime, and the other being that she must stay with some “associates”.

The associates in question would be the Gotham City Sirens (Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy), a trio of (semi) reformed villains. Emerald would mainly shadow Catwoman, Harley would give her some much needed therapy, and I guess Ivy is just there.

The main driving force of the plot would be Amanda Waller. She learns quickly about Emerald and sees her as a potential asset for Task Force X. On the flip side, there’s the Secret Society, who are trying to recruit the Sirens and by extension Emerald.

I also have plans for other RWBY characters to appear, in the off chance anyone is interested.

Jaune Arc fell into ice. That's the last thing he remembered. Now he's in a strange grove with spirits watching him all the time.... He thinks they might be broken.

Team RWBY are faunas researchers who've found the discovery of the century. A human man still alive in ice. It's a contested theory that ancient humans eventually evolved into faunas and with a member of the previously thought extinct species they might just be able to prove it. Now how to get closer to him

(tldr stone age jaune dealing with modern day faunas RWBY being horny on main for him. The spirits must be crazy)

Last Man Standing

The last thing Jaune remembered that cold winter evening was sulking across the ice to get away from his cheating ex-girlfriend. What was supposed to be a romantic night of welcoming in the new year instead became the worst heartbreak of his life, made worse when she called him out as a spineless nobody that no woman would ever want. She also said his hair looked shaggy, which didn't hurt as much as the betrayal itself, but it still stung.

Then everything got fast. Then everything got cold. And then everything got dark.

When he awoke, he took a deep breath through his nose, inhaling a sweet scent of strawberries. His eyes still shut; he leaned forward to get closer to the smell. This earned him a yelp, a slap, and a scream. As his eyes adjusted to the light, he saw a girl in a red hood running around the corner. Did she have dog ears?

"Where..." Jaune groaned as he leaned forward, noticing the hot air blowing over him. Though he was still partially frozen in ice, he managed to push his way through the, at best, hard slush of his cocoon. He looked down to see his clothes were soaked. "Ah, man..."

"I'm telling you, Weiss, I know what I saw!"

"Ruby Rose, the specimen has been frozen for at least a thousand years! Even if he did manage to thaw out, he wouldn't... be..."

The two young women stared at Jaune as he twisted his hoodie like a used dishrag, water spilling onto the floor. He turned and saw them, his eyes nearly as wide as theirs as they stared at one another.

For Jaune, he'd never seen anyone like them before! It was like something out of an anime. Two beautiful girls, one with pointed, dog-like ears, while the other had a long and bushy tail twitched back and forth. For them-

"CODE GRAY!" Screamed the tailed girl. She then rushed out of the room, dragging the other girl behind her. The dog-eared one glanced back with sort of sad eyes. None of it sounded good to Jaune, and considering the wailing sirens and flashing lights, he had to get out of wherever he is and fast!

Tossing on his still damp shirt, he made for the exit, accidentally knocking over a poor girl with rabbit ears. He gave a hasty apology as he continued to bolt down the hallway. Unfortunately, this caught more people's attention, and eventually a woman came barreling after him, hand on her beret to keep from flying off her small, round ears. He couldn't see much of her eyes past her designer shades, but what he could see spelled death.

"Incoming!" Jaune looked ahead, flipping backwards as his neck slammed into an extended arm. He gave a hoarse groan as he looked up to see three women towering over him. One was the same woman as before with round ears poking from her beret, the cute appearance contrasting with her snarling scowl. Another had gave a cheeky grin as she leaned forward a bit, showing off her cleavage to her catch, all the while a long, blonde tail swished about.

But the third and final woman gave no hint of any sort of emotion. Neither anger nor joy, but simple indifference. She reached behind her and pulled out a pair of handcuffs, tethered by a thick cable with glowing blue lights that ceased and revealed an opening with the click of a button. Her pointed, red dog-like ears made her look all the more intimidating.

"You're under arrest."

So the final episode of Fixing RWBY Volume 6 is nearly an hour long, so here are the "high"lights of this shitfest:

There are mermaid Grimm. Yes, they are flat-out called "mermaids". The best part is that Celtic Phoenix could have easily called them "sirens" to give the same impression, but that wouldn't be stupid enough for this series.

Cordovin decides immediately to bail on Argus, because running away is apparently the only thing the Atlas military is good at. Ruby gives a speech which the rest of the military ends up hearing. Then Cordovin just sorta flakes off.

And of course Celtic Phoenix still tries to make mass-murdering piece of shit Adam Taurus look sympathetic, with all kinds of stupid flashbacks and bullshit. Weiss even apologizes to him, after he's killed numerous people and tried to kill her and her friends. Oh, and no, Blake and Yang don't finish him off together. Ruby just shoots him. Blake takes his weapons after he dies. And there is a bizarre fixation on Adam destroying Yang's prosthetic arm, because edgy bullshit.

Oh, and despite ripping off Volume 9 for an edgy-bullshit drawback to the Silver Eyes, Ruby never uses the Silver Eyes at all. Instead, the Atlas military just comes back to save the day. Right up until the end, the female protagonists are stripped of their canonical feats because Celtic Phoenix would rather have a bunch of faceless soldiers be the real heroes instead of women.

Because we were all so concerned about him, Cardin's team finds Russell safe and sound! Yeah.

Maria doesn't come along to Atlas with them, because you know, can't have someone who's both a.) not white and b.) not male taking away valuable screentime from useless fuckers like Cardin.

I'll probably summarize the whole shitshow in a proper review of sorts, but yeah, this entire thing is a trainwreck where the conductor is anthropomorphized white male fragility.

You know, while Salem has had really strong villain moments, she really does continue the rwby issue of villains not feeling as they honestly should. And the issue as always has to do with her inner circle. They tell us Salem has been around since back when magic properly existed in remnant. That she's become horrific and immortal and experiments with humans and Grimm, but truthfully the hound being a more recent abomination just makes it feel like her timeline is much shorter than it should've been.

She should have an inner circle full of people like Cinder and the hound, sure we can still have those that are fully mortal and were offered something they so desperately wanted that they joined her, but she should've had loyalists who were corrupted by Grimm experimentation and made into beasts.

Tyrion 1000% should've been one of these with how much of a fanatic he is towards her, even going so far as to consider the action a "blessing". It could add more tension between him and Cinder when she gets her arm because despite her failure he sees her as being rewarded when obliteration or torment would've been his choice for her failing Salem.

You could start introducing monsters from myths and fairy tales who had been created by Salem. Vampires, demons, sirens, harpies. Various other creatures who wouldn't appear at the start but become far more common as salem's power grows and the group gets closer to her. Creatures that are more cunning than regular Grimm but still inhuman enough to give us horrific visuals and fit in with the Grimm they originated from.

Her threat is world wide, her subordinates should be numerous. Her experimentation should've started centuries ago making it so that now her creations are far more advanced, enough so that they can come to view her as a God in her own right. It could even be that tyrion is a descendant of one of these experiments leading to a stronger reasoning for his unhinged fanaticism and desperation for her to approve of him.

As for the humans/faunus of her circle, that would be a much more recent addition. It could be that for a long time she didn't believe men could be trusted without a little bit of intervention, but her studying of them and their habits let her to believe there was a chance that with the right strings she could predict them far better.
