It was a common plea when he was younger and Belos had been disappointed in him, but now that he knew what it felt to care so deeply for someone who actually returned those feelings? “Please don’t leave me.” he sobbed.

I do think it’s interesting how like... the detention track kids are the first ones we see who REALLY “mix” magics. Eda practices various forms of magic, but doesn’t seem to blend them a lot, and the witches we see in the Deadwardian Era do the same. They practice multiple kinds, but they remain separate. The little girl creates an abomination with abomination magic. Then she creates flowers with plant magic. But the DETENTION TRACK KIDS. They put crystal balls into potions to make a potion that sees the future. They make abominations out of dirt and plants. They really and truly blend their magics. And I wonder if that’s a natural progression of magic that would have happened without Belos, or if it’s something that happened EXPRESSLY because of how stringently Belos separated the magics, and because the detention track kids don’t “know” how to “properly” be a wild witch, so they did the best with the limited information they had, making a new kind of magic entirely.
