Clone Wars AU where instead of chips, the clones are actually raised to be undercover as loyal soldiers knowing they'd betray the jedi ("traitors") on the order, and are all ready to complete their mission—

But uh. The jedi are really nice?? And kinda dumb??? And they reaaaally don't know how they survived this long when they are just so dumb and trusting and oh no they're attached.

There are many unfortunate realizations. The clones form a support group to rant about their stupid jetii because "—guys you don't understand he loses his lightsaber every two seconds and then smiles at me when I give it back and has decided since I have it so much I should know how to use it and this week he ordered chocolate for everyone what do I do—"

Bly be sitting in the corner, rocking because "Oh no she's hot"

Wolffe is sitting there holding in manly tears because Plo is a buir but he's a traitor but Plo is such a buir can he be my buir

Rex is like "listen I know Skywalker is supposed to be the one non-traitor of the bunch but like. He's crazy???? And the Commander is also crazy???? How am I supposed to keep up with them???? How much worse would they be without Kenobi????????? And I think Skywalker might actually murder us all if anyone touches the commander or Kenobi???????????"

And meanwhile Fox is all "I keep pulling this one weird jedi out of the dumpster and I can't get rid of him. How do I get rid of him, he's growing on me like mold and I hate it."

Meanwhile I cant decide if the Jedi know that somethings up with the clones and are keeping them close or if they just are genuinely like "man those guys are so great ❤️❤️❤️ I'd trust my life with them ❤️❤️❤️ if they don't tell me smth they def have a good reason ❤️❤️❤️"

Thinking about how funny it is post-reveal of the mutation how the clone commanders and such use their ability to wrangle their Jedi.

Someone tips Cody off that they saw Kenobi get shot and he hasn't stopped fighting yet and he gives a resigned sigh. He tromps off to find his general with a scorch mark on his arm, he's limping on his left side, and he bruised from who knows what... and he just grows up to like 15 feet tall and picks him up by the scruff of his neck and carries him back to Helix.

Bly see's Aalya get buried under a bunch of rubble and after digging her out she insists she's fine so he tucks her under his arm and continues through the town their fighting in until one of the medics takes her.

Rex watches as Anakin falls into a pretty turbulent river and he knows he's not a great swimmer so he has to wade out and pick his general up like a cat that fell into a pool.

+ Bonus not Jedi but still fun

Hera likes to go exploring when their group of fighters settles down for a while which leads to her getting stuck in trees, caves, or on very tall rocks. It becomes Howzer's designated job to rescue her from which ever perch she finds herself stuck on. (He starts to think she does it on purpose)

“What the fuck is this.”

Aayla looks up from her datapad mid-step, alarmed by the vitriol of her commander’s enraged hiss, and nearly runs face-first into a pin-up poster of herself.

Despite the best intentions of the Order, the individual Jedi who accepted their commissions in the Army have risen to prominence in the public eye. It’s a turn of events which clashes with the Order’s traditions of humility and the unified front it tries to present to the public, but even the Grandmaster himself cannot deny the benefits of good public relations, especially as the fighting drags across long months and a dozen star systems. In the end, neither Master Yoda nor the rest of the Council have pushed back particularly hard against the Senate’s propaganda campaign.

The disorienting result is that Aayla has begun to see reproduced images of herself and her fellow Jedi all over the place—on digital holoboards on Coruscant and adverts on the HoloNet, of course, but also on regular flimsi posters which seem to be taped up around every corner, from Coruscant all the way to every dingy town on every backwater world that had ever heard rumor of Jedi.

Even, apparently, on the walls of the troopers’ barracks.

Aayla feels a bit foolish for not anticipating this situation, but, to be fair, this is the first time she’s spent any significant amount of time on a starcruiser that is not her own. After their recent costly engagement with the Separatists, she’d insisted on staying in the Malastare system for a tenday to personally oversee the start of rebuilding efforts and sent the bulk of the 327th back to Coruscant for repairs.

The Admiralty hasn’t exactly been pleased with her insistence. Aayla is grateful for the support that the High Council had offered in her favor, and even more grateful that Master Plo Koon’s 104th had been willing to provide her and her small escort battalion a ride to rendezvous with the rest of her fleet all the way on the other side of the Mid-Rim. It’s shaving several precious days from their travel schedule, and going a long way to soothing the ruffled feathers of the politicians sitting on the Sentate’s war committee.

“Kid, I’m gonna wring your neck,” Bly is saying, looming threateningly over the trooper perched at the edge of the bunk. Despite the moniker, the clone doesn’t look any younger than Bly, though he is distinguished by his dyed-red hair, shaved into two strips at the crown of his head.

“Oh shit,” Aayla hears from amongst the onlookers.
