Ok I loved the whole reader is Kid’s/Killer’s sister. And I can just imagine her and Kid not getting along, and when the heart pirates and kid pirates run into each other, reader and Kid are like two cats fighting. Then Killer picks reader up under her arms like a kitten, and hands her to Law, all like, “this is yours”.
Could you make this happen please? 😭😭
I told myself I wouldn’t send anymore requests till they went down a bit more, but this scenario wouldn’t leave my head, and I wanted to see it come to life with your words. Asdfghjkl I’m sorry 😅
LMAO YES i loved writing it 🥺 but also don't apologize bb, I got you!!
[Heads up!: semi/non-canon compliant (idk either around Sabaody or in the 2 year ts), established relationship, sibling antics (Reader and Kid), cursing, silliness]
Tumblr media
You love your brother, you swear that you do. You've stuck with him through thick and thin and at the end of the day, woe to anyone who tries to hurt him while you're around.
That being said, however, that doesn't necessarily mean that you like your brother or his general attitude towards anyone that isn't part of his crew.
Part of you gets it, truly ㅡ there's been plenty of skepticism and mockery when it comes to Kid and his goal in life. Finding the One Piece is a pretty lofty ambition, but you have no doubts your brother has the determination it takes. He's hostile because of it though, less keen on asking questions and more on the offensive ㅡ and his attitude towards Law's crew is no different.
Perhaps it's made worse, actually, for the fact that you're currently in a relationship with Law. Something your brother knows, and hates. Which is why you've found yourself, predictably, in another argument with him.
Anger boils in your veins as you raise your voice to match Kid's. "Stop treating me like I'm an idiot! I'm a grown adult!"
"Then act like it, damn it!" Your brother snaps back. "I don't have time to babysit you anyways!"
"Nobody asked you to, youㅡ" You yelp as hands hook under yours, your feet leaving the ground as you're lifted up. You know who it is, the only one besides Kid who'd dare to lift you like this in the first place. "Killer, put me down. Now."
The masked pirate ignores your demand, unbothered by the way you squirm in his hold before he sets you down in front of the Law and a handful of his crew, who've been watching this shitshow go down silently.
"This one is all yours," Killer tells Law, hand on your head and ignoring the way you swat at his touch, eyes narrowed and teeth gritted in annoyance. "For now."
"You can't just hand me off like I'm a package," you grumble, "are you that desperate to get rid of me? I didn't even do anything wrong!"
"Not getting rid of you," Killer cuts in, "just giving you some time away from Kid. I think you both need it."
Ever the voice of reason against his captain, Killer has a point ㅡ you could do with a couple weeks (or more) away from your brother and his crew, and who better to hand you off to?
You're sure Kid could think of better (or worse) people to leave you with, but all he does is scowl, silented by the firm steer of Killer back the way they'd come.
You watch your brother and his crew retreat, the scene not unfamiliar even as you sigh and pinch the bridge of your nose. "How mad do you think they'd be if I stayed with you permanently?"
You don't raise your voice and it's not quite an intentional needle to Kid, but he still comes to a halt and glares at you over his shoulder. "I heard that," he snaps, "don't even think about it!"
You adopt a face of innocence that lasts just long enough for your brother to turn back around, then glance at Law, who tilts his head. "The offer does stand," he says, even though there's a teasing gleam to his eyes that you grin at.
"I don't think I'll be truly leaving my crew anytime soon," you say as Law's own crew heads back towards the Polar Tang, and you wait until they've gone to snag your fingers in the front of Law's shirt, tugging playfully. "But I could be convinced to stay a little longer."

Barry, Constantine, and the Kid
I was reading "I Just Wanna Talk" by foldingfacets and the way Barry interacts with Danny, and his whole misunderstanding just gave me a very very good fic idea.
Danny was Constantine's kid! But thanks to whatever ex had him, John had no idea who Danny was, nor that his kid had been put up for adoption. (I'm feeling a random one-night stand with some god-adjacent being so that Danny was already very much Other, compared to normal people). His not fully human blood had him survive the Fenton household, seeing as Jazz had radiation exposure since she was little basically so she'd survived thanks to that.
Danny kinda figured he was adopted. Sure his hair was black like Jack's and his blue eyes weren't anything abnormal, but his parents were both very very white. And he was much more tan, definitely Mideastern. Jazz actually confirmed it when he asked one time, but he still loved them all dearly. He tried to love them all, but it was hard when the only one he really remembers raising him is his sister. Until the accident happens and things just go south.
Like, Danny does his whole hero thing, and works things out with his ghosts because most of them were either messing around or didn't realize he was actually a baby ghost because he was so strong or smth, idk, they cooperate with him and just come to bug him and play fight when bored or needing to satisfy their core. All in all, he's King of the Infinite Realms now and he is not having a good time tm-
He's SEEN all the John Constantine things, but never bothered with tracking this guy down because hey! selling his soul to multiple entities to prevent ANYONE from getting it was really smart! Who was he to fault the guy.
It kind of all comes crashing down though when things go horribly ary with his adoptive parents. He overheard them talking, and even though they did love him, he learned that to them he wasn't just their kid. He was still the kid Jazz really wanted for a brother. After literally growing up in their house, he wasn't on the same level as Jazz. Simply because he was adopted, and neither had truly planned to adopt him.
And despite learning this, he tries so hard to still love and few them as his parents, because he's NOT their kid! They're right, but they still raised him no they didn't it was Jazz and he thought that they at least loved him more than that some part of him knew they never had. So when Jazz suggests they tell them, together for his own safety, he agrees for two reasons. 1, he loves and trusts Jazz and she really wanted to believe they were better than just ghost hunting. 2, he could finally know the truth, whether they would not believe him, hate him, or love him.
They don't.
Maddie and Jack both believe he died due to their creation. They don't doubt that for a moment. Jazz is thrilled at first, thinking that meant they would feel sorry, apologize, accept Danny, ANYTHING except harm him. But she was wrong as they tried to shoot him. She tried to stop them, and they told her even if he was Danny, that he was a ghost which meant it wasn't ever really going to be him again. And Jazz was horrified, asking how they could shoot their own son, ghost or not, and as if it was the simplest thing in the world, they say he wasn't their son.
And that was it.
Danny ran.
He hid in the ghost zone, and Jazz tried to come with. She ended up destroying the portal, outing Vlad, and running away with a voice recorder of their parents and the conversation they'd had. Sam and Tucker have to lay low, only messaging Danny to ask if he'd been hurt.
Danny didn't reply.
After a few months, his friends had gotten a reply a few days after, so had Jazz, saying he was fine and Fright Knight was watching over him, which was true but the Knight was more worried than anything, Pandora stopped by. She was kind of like an aunt, so she hated to see him sad. But she'd also realized something.
Halfa, as most VERY old ghosts and Ancients know, are rare to find. Vlad was an odd case, being Halfa-adjacent but not a true Halfa since it took 20 years for his powers to grow to what they were when it was normal for quick power growth like Danny. Not only does one need to die with a bunch of ectoplasm nearby, but they must have a few other requirements. Such as a bond with the supernatural, strong magic, etc. No mortal being without very strong and innate abilities would survive a full Halfa creation. So she'd always been curious as to how Danny survived when even heroes who'd been exposed to death would not near chance of being a Halfa.
Being a demi-god made it a lot easier. Even then, not all demi-gods would survive either, seeing as it would be rare for them to be within range of the ectoplasm needed to balance their god-like blood. Danny was an incredibly special case. Pandora had found out that Danny wasn't just a demi-god, but the human who was his parent was an incredibly strong magic user. So much so, that he'd tricked and tried his way through many many years of his life. Honestly, Pandora was amazed the human was alive.
Telling Danny of his father was not in her plan, though she did tell him of his demi-god blood. She also told him, that it may be safer with heroes.
So with a little time to heal, not really he was still bandaged up but at least he wasn't about to fall apart, Danny got Wulf and Cujo, the former opening a portal with a sad goodbye for the time being. (Really, Wulf would always know where Danny was.) Either way, Danny had planned to find this John Constantine, since seeing as he'd somehow avoided death all while dimension hoping, he was probably a good bet. Or at the very least could help him find a hero to help.
Falling through the portal with Cujo, he hadn't expected a giant room in what he could only guess was a secret base. There was a hero, he really should have looked up heroes, but most of his childhood hadn't really given him access to anything outside of his hometown, which was staring in shock at him.
And Flash meets Danny.
And instantly wants to adopt the kid. Sorry, Bruce! This one is his kid actually! But when he hears the boy's reason for being there, the poor kid looking utterly terrified and apologetic for barging in and trying to explain how Constantine's contact info had led him here, Barry is just crushed. He's keeping the kid entertained, panicking, and trying to contact John.
Wally ends up meeting him while they're waiting, and it instantly taking this kid as his own new brother. If his boyfriend gets a bunch of younger siblings so does he!
Either way, both speedsters are already filing adoption papers, not really as much as Barry wants to because he knows better than to take in an unknown even with how horrifying this child's accidental slips of his home-life was like.
So we have an MIA John, not like that's rare-, an unknown child who they really need to test DNA for but don't want to scare him, speedsters already mentally said kid's parent, and a whole lot of chaos. Danny had no IDEA that Constantine is his bio dad, Clockwork had Pandora hint him this way for a reason though...he got a dad one way or another and in some universes, he had 2. So. No loss situation to the Ancient.
They are not ready for this traumatized ass kid because he doesn't even realize he'd traumatized. Wait till he has a panic attack though, Danny, despite his apparent obliviousness to how fucked up he should be, will finally seem like the hurt kid he is.
And oh boy, wait till someone accidentally jostles a wound during that whole first meeting since Danny's hiding his wounds. Now that's a whole other bag of worms to open, like how'd he get them????

New Beginnings (Ithaqua×Reader)
AN: Honestly not the proudest of this one, but I'm happy enough with it that I deem it as good as done. This is part of a collaboration of sorts with a few people from the Ithaqua discord server with a prompt focusing on a modern AU where Ithaqua has a healthy family relationship and takes you to prom. Hope you enjoy my take on this! On another note, I think I should probably try to make an introduction post and a masterlist. Problem is, I am simply too lazy and probably won't do it until like,,, 5 months later. Someone send help. Word count: 4.0k words Summary: Anxiety consumes him alive, to the point he's paralyzed in fear. Ithaqua doesn't want to lose you, but it seems no matter what he does, he will. Unbeknownst to him, you feel much the same. Senior year really does smack people in the face, doesn't it?
Tumblr media
The Norwell twins are odd, though not in a way that is truly unusual for most siblings. The two are complete opposites, constantly bickering, yet also very close. Since they were separated at birth, many expected that there would be a rift between them. That didn't end up the case, for better or for worse.
Nathaniel was the heir to the notorious Norwell Conglomerate, treated like a prince since birth. Ithaqua was their long lost brother, raised by a kind woman in a rural area. No matter how anyone looked at it, Nathaniel would either have a sense of superiority or feel threatened by his brother returning. Ithaqua, in turn, would feel inferior to his brother who had been perfectly raised to be a leader.
Yet, none of those speculations and expectations became a reality.
Ithaqua quite literally denounced his right to be heir the moment he met his birth parents. He claimed he was perfectly content living life as he was, and didn't need anything the Norwell family may feel inclined to give him. While it was a bit blunt, it was honest. It put many people at ease, including his brother. Nathaniel immediately took a liking to his twin after that, which no one could really understand. When asked, he simply shrugged and said "I like straightforward people who know what they want."
Nathaniel is all sly words and cunning, charming in a way that is alluring like the gentle call of the depths of a ravine. He's used to the deceptive nature of business and people of the upper class. Honestly, he's so used to it that it sickens him. To finally meet the brother he'd always wanted to get to know, and find that he is everything that he'd ever want him to be? Well, Nathaniel couldn't be any more pleased.
Ithaqua is blunt and straightforward, but not unkind. He's someone who does what is right and is considerate of people, even if he doesn't seem like it. With a loving adoptive mother who taught him well, it was impossible for him to ever lust for more than he needed. All Ithaqua wants is a nice job and a house big enough for him, his mom, and maybe a caretaker for his mom when he isn't able to take care of her.
With how pure he is morally, it's expected that Ithaqua didn't particularly like his brother, or his whole biological family really, at first. Still, he gave them the benefit of the doubt and found that they weren't nearly as bad as he had thought they'd be. They were rather normal for a family, just... rich. He could ignore that if he squinted enough.
Not as much changed as he'd anticipated. It was merely requested that Ithaqua and his adoptive mother moved into the Norwell mansion, and that Ithaqua went to the same high school as his brother. It wasn't strictly required, and the Norwell's claimed that regardless of their choice, they'd respect it and send the two money to take care of themselves.
They agreed to live with the Norwell's in the end.
Two years had passed since then, and it was shocking to see how the twins acted now. Nathaniel would lightly poke fun at Ithaqua, and he in turn would poke back. The two had their differences, but ultimately ended up quite good friends. It was almost surreal to some students to watch the proud, arrogant heir suddenly become a teasing older brother of sorts. It made him feel less unreachable, more human.
With senior year rapidly coming to an end, many were either panicking or celebrating. Soon, they'd be going to college, trade school, or the like, becoming "real adults" and having more freedom than they'd know what to do with. It was nerve-wracking, it was exhilarating.
With the desire to have no regrets, many asked Nathaniel to prom. He rejected everyone, practically the whole school, while clinging to Ithaqua and claiming he wouldn't go with anyone in fear that his poor little brother would be lonely.
If Ithaqua's deadpan expression didn't show how much of a lie that was, Nathaniel's shit eating grin sure did.
The truth of the matter was, Nathaniel couldn't go with anyone in fear of either tainting their family reputation or giving someone false hope of a relationship he had no interest in. Even if he was sly, cunning, or as other people put it, a bastard, he still had his morals. Needlessly breaking hearts or hurting his family was not something he wanted to do. Ithaqua knew this, which was why he let his brother use him as an excuse. Not a good excuse, but an excuse nonetheless.
"Ah, I wish someone would go with my poor, unfortunate brother. So lonely, with zero friends and a personality that repels literally everyone! I sincerely wish my brother could have a partner, but alas, he has no rizz." Nathaniel dramatically proclaimed, draping himself over his twin. Ithaqua looked like he had half the mind to push him off, and after a moment of thought, he did. The older teen yelped, barely stabilizing himself before he could fall. "Hey! That was mean."
While the childish actions of his brother were mildly annoying, Ithaqua was too preoccupied to truly get mad at him. After all, he had more important matters to attend to. Specifically, thinking about how to ask you out to prom.
You were Ithaqua's first friend when he transferred into Oletus High School. With most either trying to butter him up or ignoring him, he thought he wouldn't be able to make a friend at all. Then you came, in all your fumbling glory.
You were in all of his classes, sometimes sitting right besides him. The class he first really noticed you in was drama. Ithaqua can't help but laugh remembering how you completely butchered your role as Mercutio.
Everyone was given a role from Romeo and Juliet at random, Ithaqua being Romeo and you being Mercutio. Technically, you could say anything as the whole purpose of this project was to modernize the script. It was entertaining, to say the least, to give teenagers complete free reign over a play that was pretty much made with the memes of the time in mind.
"Romeo, my guy, you were in love with Rosaline literally a day ago. Now, you're saying you love this- this Juliet you just met. I know we're hormonal teenagers but really?"
"She's attractive though."
"Yeah, well you're attractive too and you don't see me simping over you all the time."
"You simp over me half the time?"
"..."
"Mercurio?"
"Bye."
Honestly, most of the improved scenes were pure gold, but Ithaqua only remembered the ones with you. After all, to him, those were the funniest ones. It was what got him to reach out and interact with you.
He was pleasantly surprised to see you had no clue who the Norwell's were. Ithaqua expected you to know who he was, or who Nathaniel was at least, but you did not know and did not care. It was a miracle considering the Norwell Conglomerate was in charge of a lot of major brands, but he wasn't going to complain.
You treated him normally, making lighthearted jabs at him, casually joking with him, and offering him comfort when school and life became too much. In a new environment where most didn't want to interact with him for good reasons, you were like a shining beacon of light.
Being able to be himself without any judgment was nice. It was why he treasured your friendship more than anything else. Sure, many can claim his life is overall better than before, but you were the one who truly made it that way. Without you, Ithaqua is sure he would've grown to hate it all.
It's why he hesitated asking you to prom at all. It's not necessarily all that suggestive, perhaps, but prom is a place many go to with their romantic interests. There's an inherent sense of intimacy in asking someone to go with you. So, for Ithaqua to ask you to prom, it'd be tantamount to confessing his feelings without really doing so.
He couldn't bring himself to do that considering he didn't know if you returned his feelings. What if you didn't like him back? What if you stopped being friends with him? Would your friendship become more and more strained until your bond became nothing more than a fleeting memory?
Ithaqua, for all his honesty and straightforward nature, was truly not all that bold. But he could at least admit one thing.
He was scared.
He was scared of losing you.
Perhaps he's being a bit dramatic- asking someone to prom isn't always something romantic. But when it concerns you, Ithaqua's brain simply stops working. He can't help but fret over everything, drowning in a lake of anxiety that he created.
"Just ask them. Worst case scenario, they realize you like them, but your feelings aren't returned. After that, you'll be heartbroken, but at the very least you won't experience the awkwardness of being around your crush who doesn't reciprocate your feelings. We'll be graduating in a few weeks, so is there really anything to lose? Do you have any time for regrets?"
Sometimes, Ithaqua wanted to throw his brother out the window. He's being completely logical, yes, but matters of the heart aren't so simple. Ithaqua has been swallowing his feelings for so long because he didn't want you to leave his life. Sure, you guys may never meet again after high school, or maybe you will, but he wanted the last of his memories with you to be happy regardless. Ones he will yearn for, smile over, laugh with melancholy at, not cry and despair over.
Nathaniel shook his head as he watched his younger brother scowl at him, still deep in thought. It was painfully obvious to him that you returned Ithaqua's feelings, but neither of you were willing to try and confess. At this point, he should just do it for you guys!
...or so he feels, but he knows this is something for Ithaqua to deal with. Nathaniel wants to protect Ithaqua and make sure he's happy, but he can't do that for his whole life. A helicopter parent (brother?) is not what Ithaqua needs, so he remains silent.
Above all else, Ithaqua's feelings on this matter, along with yours, matter the most. Whether he gains the courage to ask you or not is up to him, not Nathaniel. It was honestly torturous to watch, but this is not something he should overly involve himself in. Nathaniel knew better than anyone else what it felt like to have your privacy violated, and he'd never want to subject either of you through such a thing.
Nathaniel can only pray that whatever happens, he gets a chance to shove Ithaqua into you so you'll finally kiss and stop going around each other in circles.
-
Days turned into weeks, each moment passing by faster and faster until finally, it was the day for prom. Ithaqua failed to muster up the courage to ask you to go with him.
It wasn't that big a deal, sure, since you were planning on going with him and his brother anyway. You three were a trio, a close-knit friend group, so it wasn't weird by any means. Still, he'd at least wanted to try. It was pathetic that he'd simply given up before he even could.
Regardless, what's done was done. Ithaqua had done nothing, so he'd face the consequences that came with that. At the least, he could be glad he'd be going with you.
...and his brother.
Pulling up to the venue, Ithaqua maintained a frosty exterior. He picked at the smooth fabric of his vest, muttering complaints as he threw his suit jacket over his shoulder. Nathaniel smiled brightly as he whistled, dragging his brother into the building.
Ithaqua was dressed in a white dress shirt, black vest, and blue trousers. Though his jacket was supposed to be worn and matching with his pants, he'd all but hissed at Nathaniel that he'd rather die than wear it properly. It wasn't like he hated the jacket, but it was too stuffy and thick considering the weather. Even with his hair pulled into a ponytail, his neck was getting sweaty just standing in the sun.
Nathaniel didn't seem to have that problem, wearing a crimson red suit in its entirety and not seeming bothered in the least. Ithaqua wondered if it was because he'd lived in the city for so long, or was just used to wearing stuffy clothes for business meetings. Probably both.
"C'mon Itha, you should wear the jacket once we get inside! They have air conditioning so it won't be that bad." Nathaniel whined, pressing the button to the 5th floor in the elevator. Ithaqua huffed, rolling his eyes as he scrolled through his phone quickly.
"I'd really rather not. Besides, you shouldn't worry about how I look considering the fact that you look like a red envelope given during Chinese New Year." Ithaqua responded, shoving his phone into his pocket as the elevator doors opened.
"Hey! I do not! I'm not wearing gold!" Nathaniel exclaimed, pouting as he followed Ithaqua. He was pretty much ignored, however, as Ithaqua was too busy checking in with the staff before entering the ballroom.
The ballroom was considerably large, enough for the hundred or so teens that were bound to show up. With the theme of "new beginnings," Ithaqua had expected weird decorations or the sort. (Seriously, why did the school choose such a vague theme?) Regardless, the venue was rather nicely decorated with butterflies and flowers.
"Well, I guess that works." Ithaqua muttered before turning around. He sighed, watching as his brother completely ditched him for his other friends. Unsurprised, yet nonetheless disappointed, he shook his head. Looking around, Ithaqua chose to sit at the table farthest from the dance floor. Being close to the overwhelming music and mass of bodies that would follow it later on would be undesirable.
In the next few minutes, the room filled quite quickly. The chatter of friends and constant movement was followed by colorful fabrics and extravagant outfits, the wearers sometimes needing assistance walking due to that. Although his eyes continuously scored over the crowd, Ithaqua couldn't find you.
Frustrated, he stood up to search for you. Pushing past people while apologizing the whole time, Ithaqua nearly tripped as he tried to step over Vera's dress. Stumbling, he bumped into someone. He quickly grasped their shoulders to prevent either of them from falling, stabilizing both of them.
"Ah! Sorry!"
He blinked in surprise as he finally saw who he bumped into. There, with the lights of the hallway framing their figure like dew hugging the petals of a flower, was you. With the dim lights of the ballroom, you seemingly glowed. His hold on your shoulders tightened as his breath hitched, face flushing as his heart beat out of his chest.
You looked like what love would be if it became a person. The incarnation of perfection, everything he could want and more, yet something he could only have in a dream. Ithaqua could only wonder if this is what Persephone felt like when she first saw pomegranates. A temptation like no other, beckoning with a siren's call to ensnare one's heart and mind. Divine, yet the sure reason for the descent of an angel into hell.
Well, he was never an angel in the first place, Ithaqua thought. But if he was, and it was for you, he'd gladly scrape his knees falling from grace.
You weren't just attractive, no, in this moment, you looked absolutely ethereal.
"Ithaqua? Are you alright?" You asked, concern clear upon your face. He cleared his throat awkwardly, removing his hands from your shoulders and stepping back. Quickly recovering, he nodded. Still, his eyes were stuck to you, completely enamored.
"Yeah, perfectly fine. Just, er, surprised. You look, you look good." He stuttered. You looked like you were going to ask questions, so Ithaqua dragged you to the table he'd claimed for the three of you. He pulled out a seat for you before sitting in his own, desperately trying to prevent himself from looking at you.
It was completely and utterly unfair that you, who already was the definition of perfection, just became even more... well, perfect. He was left to scramble for composure while you didn't even look vaguely affected by his appearance. To be fair, he was just wearing a plain old suit, but still.
Ithaqua didn't know if he'd be able to survive the night, and he couldn't decide if this was heaven or hell with how things were going.
-
You didn't understand why Ithaqua was avoiding looking at you, but it stung quite a bit. Admittedly, you'd hoped dressing up would, you know, do the opposite, but that didn't seem to be the case. Maybe he didn't like the colors? Or maybe he thought you looked ugly but didn't want to say it?
Regardless, your mood was worse than before, though you tried to remain cheerful. No matter what, today had to be the day. You had to confess your feelings to Ithaqua once and for all, or else you'd never do it.
Truth be told, you had originally intended to ask him to prom before, but you chickened out. You felt like you were going to die every time you tried, so you ran away each time with the excuse of doing something else.
You're positive Nathaniel laughed at you every time, that traitor.
With senior year coming to an end, you were left with a sense of dread as the future came rushing at you. Jobs, taxes, education, whatever, you were honestly terrified to face it all. Sure, you'd have people to help you when you stumble, but it's so hard to ask for it. In the first place, this fear isn't necessarily the fear of the future, but the fear of the unknown.
You didn't want to face anything, but you knew you had to. Still, you tried to ignore it.
However, one thing you had to acknowledge was that with the end of your high school year, you'd probably not be able to meet Ithaqua quite as much. You wouldn't be able to go to the arcade with him, laugh as he failed to get the plushie he wanted for the millionth time, or walk in the park while eating ice cream with him.
It left you feeling hollow and cold, the thought of losing him to time and distance devastating. He'd surely be able to make friends with his new classmates, live a good life, and even get a partner. He wouldn't need you.
The thought of him forgetting you made you want to cry.
You know he isn't the sort to abandon people, and surely he'd never do that to you, but time changes people. It brings new winds, ending things and creating new beginnings. You couldn't help but feel like you'd be left behind as his past, just that one friend he had in high school.
You didn't want this friendship of yours to end, or at the very least, for you to have never admitted you'd felt more for him than that.
He held you when you cried, laughed at you when you fell, picked you up when you needed help, and remained a constant comfort by your side. It was impossible not to fall in love with him.
You never confessed since you always felt like your love would never be returned. Like Mercutio who loved his best friend, who went as far as to die for him, yet would never be able to be with him, a tragic romance of his own.
At the least, you wanted to confess your feelings instead of leaving them unsaid forever. If fate decided to bring him to you, it'll be Ithaqua himself who will decide if he'll bend destiny to his will to stay by your side.
So, when you heard the gentle notes of a slow song start, you took Ithaqua to the dance floor. He seemed surprised, but allowed it as you held his hands. With careful steps, the two of you moved along with the crowd, swaying to the music.
He held you close so you didn't get pulled away, firm yet gentle in his touch. You wanted to tell him now, but with how quiet things were, excluding the music playing in the background, it felt awkward to do so. Another problem was that with Ithaqua so close, you could barely think straight.
By the end of the song, you hadn't accomplished your goal, though you felt considerably better than before. Nervous and shaky, yes, but happier.
You clasped your hands together to try and get them to stop shaking, though it didn't work too well. You purse your lips in displeasure, a frown quickly forming.
"Let's go out to the balcony. It's too stuffy here."
You stared at Ithaqua for a moment before immediately taking his outstretched hand. It was, as one would expect, getting quite stifling with so many people in one room. It didn't help that the floor shook whenever the DJ played a popular song as the crowd jumped up and down. Which was basically 95% of the time.
Stepping out onto the balcony, you take a deep breath. The calm evening wind cools you off considerably, bringing you back to life. Ithaqua seems more at ease, too. You can't help but smile softly as you lean on the ledge, staring at him.
Ithaqua's eyes are closed as he faces the sky, embracing the fresh air and the freedom of the outdoors. The moon seems to shine on him especially, making him look ethereal. His smile seems gentler, as though he were truly at peace now.
Your heart hammers against your chest as you take another deep breath in, closing your eyes as you try to gather all the courage you can. It all goes down the drain, however, when he opens his eyes.
With him smiling softly, his eyes half-lidded and illuminated by the moonlight, Ithaqua is unfairly attractive, stealing the breath you'd only just taken. You're sure that if anyone were to show you what you looked like right now, you'd look completely love struck.
"I love you."
You can't tell who said it first, but both of you said it for sure. It has your eyes widening in surprise, watching as he does the same. At that moment, it hits you that this whole time, the two of you have been pining for the other.
No wonder Nathaniel was laughing at you.
Regardless, as you stare at each other, finally understanding the other completely, the two of you draw closer. Softly, sweetly, your lips meet, and you know, then and there, that everything will be alright. Even if the inescapable future is marching towards you, you'll have Ithaqua by your side.
That's all you need.
So, you kiss goodbye what feels like the last of your youth, ready to greet the new beginnings of another chapter of your life. After all, it can't be that bad when it also is the start of your new relationship.
-
BONUS SCENE:
“Now that wasn’t so hard, was it?”
You nearly jump out of your skin at the new voice, whipping around to see Nathaniel with a smug smile. Ithaqua glares at him, a look of pure exasperation and annoyance upon his face. However, the two of you could see the underlying notes of embarrassment as well, his ears tinged a light pink.
“Did you really come out here to tell the equivalent of “I told you so,” Nathaniel?”
“No, actually. I came here to say I am sooooo telling mom and dad.”
“...”
“...so what flowers should I bring to his grave?”
“Don’t even bother, I’m dumping his body into the river.”
“Oh come on I wasn’t being seriou- ITHA WHA- STOP- I’M SORRY! OW!”
“GET BACK HERE NATHANIEL BABEL NORWELL!”
“Ah good old brotherly love!”
“HELP ME!”

How do you think MV19 is going to adapt "Moominpappa's memoirs"? Because it seems like they're also doing the comet adaptation, so they are going to clash both¿
I doubt Gusty would have the gall to make a straight adaptation of Moominpappa's Memoirs so late into the series and somehow fit it into the plot of Comet in Moominland, or at least I hope they don't have the gall to do it in their 13 episode runtime.
They already referenced the story in good detail in the Golden Tail episode, they've already referenced Edward, the Muddler, the Nibling and Hodgkins, now we just need them to follow it through with something more substantial, because the show's viewers who haven't watched or read anything else of Moomin are definitely going to be wondering who exactly Muddler and Hodgkins are, and what the heck a Nibling is.
They've already used up the Ghost (or at least a character similar to it) and sent him to the aurora borealis in season 1, I can imagine that maybe they would, like, do a throwback to him but honestly who even thought about the 2019 Ghost in any substantial way after that episode? The creators don't even bother putting Emma or Ninny in crowd shots or give them small character bits past their respective episodes, so it's doubtful they'd being the Ghost back. It'd be redundant to have an episode dedicated to Moominpappa's backstory adapted into a stage play only for us to see a flashback version of it unless they really wanna go out there with it. The Joxter lacks even a peep of reference which is super weird so it'd be double weird to bring him in with Muddler and Hodgkins who have been mentioned, like, who the hell is that guy?
If they want to bring in Moominpappa's Memoirs in a way that feels more natural for the final season of a show they should probably just adapt the epilogue where they have a big family reunion, perhaps interweave Moominpappa's character into it and make him proactive in seeking out his old friends for the adventure and we'd get the adaptation through his reminiscing while the end of the world is ongoing, I think that'd be neat.
You could even sprinkle in a little heartbreak and say he's doing it for a proper goodbye because if they did in fact make Moomins and the Great Flood canon then that would make Moominpappa abandoning his family for years canon, and that could extend to him abandoning the Oshun Oxtra without warning because something something he was too selfish and he gets character development when he realizes how self-centered he's been and tries to make up for it.
Perhaps that would be the B-plot with the Moominparents instead of them staying at home waiting around like in the book while the kids go off on their mountain-trotting adventure.
Honestly I just want Sniff's character arc to end with him finding his proper parents who care for him along with getting the cat he adopts in Comet in Moominland. Everyone else has been very rude or disregarding him throughout the show, that was even his main thing in season 3, so it would mean the world to me if he just. Gets a Happy Ending.
What I'm most worried about in an adaptation (adjacent) of Memoirs is the infantilization of the Muddler, everything else is either already gotten down by the show (Moominpappa's character) or difficult to mess up unless they're actively trying to (Hodgkins and Joxter's characters) but Muddler........ It's already a problem within the fandom and we know Gutsy and Moomin co. do cater to the fandom quite a bit. Maybe it's just that he's my favorite character ever but I am. Worried about him. Especially considering characters like Sniff or Toffle.
But like, yeah, you can do alot with Moominpappa's Memoirs but I doubt Gutsy writers have the imagination or brain power to manage it alongside a Comet in Moominland adaptation some the likely adaptations of the comics or original plot episodes. That episode based on Moominvalley in November is the most egregious thing they've done in the world as an adaptation and I hope they don't stoop down to that again but, yeah.
It really sucks that the showrunners weren't sure if they were gonna get past season 2, they could've done alooooot better with the show's plot and character arc structure and I'm sceptical about the quality of a simultaneous Comet in Moominland and Moominpappa's Memoirs adaptation for the final season. But we'll see.

A lot of you have such a black-and-white worldview that you take anyone else's experiences as a direct attack on your own.
No, a DID diagnosis is not inherently a death sentence - But to say that a DID diagnosis cannot ever affect your ability to adopt, get accepted for a job, or anything else is false.
Yes, even if it's illegal to discriminate against someone on the basis of a disability. It happens anyway.
I have been seeing a lot of people saying "I just don't tell them I have DID and it's fine" - Have you ever considered not all of us are functional enough to have the choice to hide it like that?
I do not have direct personal experience with DID specifically affecting my ability to get work or adopt or get into a good school, because I was diagnosed as an adult and have never been employed or interested in adoption - I am too sick to even leave my bed most days.
I do, however, have direct experience with systemic discrimination on the basis of having an autism diagnosis since the age of 6.
Certain schools would not accept us or would make us move schools because they saw autism and did not want to deal with "a kid like that". Our very first school kept suspending us and sending us home and punishing us and refusing to follow our learning plan and eventually just told our parents to move us elsewhere. This was first grade.
Growing up, our autism diagnosis was what justified abuse, which they called "treatment".
It was also used as a tool to question our ability to do things, communicate, and know what we want.
Our autism diagnosis generally either meant we could not possibly make our own decisions or it was played up for the entertainment and feel-good of neurotypicals.
We ended up in news articles and events occasionally as a little kid. They all focused on our autism. Do you know what a big deal it is to neurotypicals when a kid "like that" can deliver a speech to hundreds of people? You end up being the talk of everyone, you're an inspiring story for "overcoming" this "disease" they called autism.
And yet they still will be cautious accepting you into whatever school you wanted to go to because they doubt your abilities and believe your parents must have faked your writing to sound as cohesive and well-written as it did when you applied. We were gifted in english. But we were autistic.
And then they turn around again and use you as good PR.
Your first introduction anywhere you go is "This is X, they have autism!"
"Look at what good people we are for accepting such a child into our program!"
And then they turn around again and mistreat you for that very thing they will publicly brag about.
They will also see your diagnosis and want to use you for free or reduced labor cost. I do not remember anything about this relating to us, but kmow for a fact this did happen to many of our fellow SPED kids in highschool - They'd have programs to employ autistic youth where they paid you solely in "work experience" and "social skills".
You do not get paid - You get "to learn life skills".
I also know of many programs where, while they technically pay you, they make use of disability laws that allow them to pay disabled people less than minimum wage. "They're all living with their parents anyway because they can't live on their own, so it's basically just like an allowance."
Even moving away from us for a moment, we have known people personally who had their ability to parent their child questioned in court because they had one or more mental health diagnoses on their papers.
Do you see what I'm getting at yet?
No, a DID diagnosis does not automatically mean you will be discriminated against on a systemic level and outcast from society - But to say it is not possible at all is to ignore a very massive and glaring ableism issue that is a very real lived reality for many, many people with DID and other disabilities.
It is not "misinformation", it is often not even "fear-mongering" to point this out.
We live in a shitty world - To tell someone with worries of getting a DID diagnosis that "That won't happen, don't worry!" in regards to discrimination is incredibly misleading.
No, do not say that an official DID diagnosis is some kind of monster that forever seals your fate as to how you'll be treated within society and that nobody should ever get diagnosed unless they plan to stay in an institution for the rest of their life or whatever. That's stupid.
But for the love of god please stop telling people that they will not be discriminated against just because you haven't been. You are brushing the experiences of the rest of us under the rug in doing this.

Hey tell me about your ocs on tumblr dot com
Tumblr media
I am going to assume this is Dyzzy, given who liked this post before this showed up in my inbox. Hi Dyzzy! You and @ilikecorndogs Have activated my trap card. I suppose I could start with the two characters in the post below, Izzy and Runt.
Izzy is currently one of the protagonists I have for the world of Gods Gambit. They're traveling with Runt currently to try and find a monster that attacked them when they were a child. They got their face severely damaged by the encounter and have worn a mask since then.
They were raised in [name pending] by their adoptive mother, who shepards dream sheep. Growing up with them caused Izzy to be able to stay awake for long periods of time, because most of the field work happened at night. I've also tossed around the idea of some other magic though so this might change.
They're the more practical counterpart to Runt, but tends to be more stubborn than their friend. Less likely to concern themselves with what-ifs and maybes because it easily overwhelms them. Not that they don't care for anything that doesn't serve a purpose though, they do. They're just kinda dogshit at expressing that though.
Runt on the other hand does just fine telling people how they feel. Even if it tends to get him and Izzy in trouble with humans. Runt is a nightmare wolf that lived in the woods outside Izzy's home. They ended up meeting because the wolves try to hunt down the sheep flock nightly. Despite this, they ended up being really good friends to each other as kids.
He is the youngest of his pack and is considered the "smallest" despite his height and size. He's not as strong as the other wolves, but still has powerful magic. Usually it involves manifesting what someone fears the most. He can't help but find human's distress extremely funny when he uses it.
That's actually why he takes on that humanoid form in cities. People don't respond well to what looks like a wraith-thin cross between some rabid animal and a man. One that looks like it probably hasn't eaten in days, too... He has though. I doubt though they'd find some long black wolf with a giant mouth that inviting either. Eh, what can you do? Born to spook.
Okay that's all I can think to write. Do ask more! It will probably be the only time I ever directly tell people stuff.

i'm sorry i know i keep posting about it, but the newest dc encyclopedia is so bad it's mesmerizing. i only picked it up because i was curious about current character heights, but i've ended up reading almost the entire thing. it's like a train wreck. i just can't look away
i genuinely don't understand how this even happened. there were multiple writers, and some entries are totally fine, so i don't know if somebody just went rogue or what, but there's something wildly incorrect on pretty much every other page. and it's not small stuff, either. i'm really not much of a lore nerd when it comes to comics, and I'M finding multiple things wrong everywhere i look. maybe it's just some sort of crazy coincidence and only the things i've actually read a fair amount about are fucked up, but i kinda doubt that
and it's not even just that they get basic shit wrong. it's the WAY they get it wrong. i don't even know how to describe it. it's the most bizarre mix where they get everybody's names and all the unimportant details perfectly correct but then somehow manage to get like everything that actually happened and mattered WILDLY incorrect
donna's entry is... basically just fanfic?
Tumblr media
girl what the fuck are you even talking about
just real quick so anyone who hasn't read it can understand how weird this is, donna's new 52 origin was that she was made to usurp diana as queen because, in short, her creator thought diana was an unfit ruler who was too tolerant of men and prioritized the outside world over themyscira
the only thing that changed about this in rebirth was how old donna was when she was created. instead of being made as an adult, she was a child. the only difference now is that her creator's plot never came to fruition, donna was rescued by the amazons as a kid, and raised believing she was a normal human they'd adopted and brought back to themyscira. nowhere in anything that's discussed her origin in rebirth (that i'm aware of, anyway??) has it ever been said that she's "not even alive."
this is so weird and out of nowhere that i spent like an hour googling it trying to find where the hell they were getting this idea, and idk! maybe i somehow just missed some major retcon, but i have not been able to find a single person anywhere even theorizing about donna being created as some sort of failsafe in case diana "went rogue."
the only thing i can think that would suggest anything like this is a single line in titans, where a weird evil future version of donna says she was created as "a device to be used in the bleakest emergencies."
Tumblr media
but that's not saying anything like her being created in case diana "went rogue" ??? i'm pretty sure it's just meant to be referencing her creator's belief that diana would end up destroying the amazons?? somebody literally just got their weird fanfic theory published in the official dc comics encyclopedia as if it were canonical fact lol
and this is not at all the only time something like this happens. i'm not kidding when i say it's nearly every other page. a lot of the lantern corps entries are not just wrong but wrong in the weirdest possible way. the indigo tribe specifically is the perfect example of this bizarre thing where it mixes correct and WILDLY incorrect information
Tumblr media
sorry, but how the fuck do you remember the little bastard that showed up for like 5 minutes was named natromo but then have the very next thing be the EXACT OPPOSITE of what he actually said and what the entire point of his character and the arc he showed up in was??
Tumblr media
if they'd just heard about the indigo tribe arc thirdhand and assumed the "compassion" lanterns would have to be created for a good reason the way most people who get this confused do, it'd be one thing but like??? to know specific details like this, you'd have to have actually read the arc or at least read ABOUT it
(and i know a lot of people haven't read anything about the indigo tribe, but i really can't stress enough how insane the tone of this entire entry is if you know literally anything about them lol?? saying the indigo tribe is based around redemption and "act in a benevolent, life-affirming manner" like it does is kinda like describing the joker as a character based around themes of mental health)
again, this is... fanfic. literally just fanfic. published as a guide to the official dc canon. what the fuck is going on lmao
i can't say i recommend giving them money for this, but if you can manage to get your hands on it (The DC Comics Encyclopedia New Edition from 2021) without buying it, i'd really recommend looking through it just because seeing some of the wildest interpretations of characters you've ever read published in something that's basically meant to be an official lore bible is truly an experience. and also because they slut shame deathstroke

sydney mae diaz, queer, trans man + he/him ― hey look, it’s marty davies! he’s twenty-one years old, he’s lived in shrike heights for eleven years, and he’s currently working at shrike entertainment superstore in shrike mall, along with davies' furniture in town. i heard he’s pretty clingy, but i think he’s so intelligent at the same time. can he make it out alive?
polaroids / conversations / inspirations / starters / scrapbook
Tumblr media
basic information -
full name: marty edmund davies nicknames: m, mart, preferred name: marty gender: trans man pronouns: he/him sexual orientation: queer, also comfortable with the label bisexual but prefers queer date of birth: october 4th 1968 age: twenty-one zodiac: libra, doesn't know much about zodiacs family: adopted into the davies family. father, edmund davies, siblings, romy, marina, emmy, lucy and aera davies. completely detached from surviving biological family. occupation: working at shrike entertainment superstore in shrike mall, as well as davies' furniture hometown: booneville, ms
Tumblr media
background -
marty was born the youngest of four daughters to a working class family in mississippi.
life was turbulent from the start; his parent's relationship was rocky at best, though they stuck together and were a team against their children who they treated awfully.
marty went from a sick, premature baby to a young child who suffered with extreme separation anxiety from his parents who wanted no involvement with him. not a day went by that marty didn't cry. it surpassed simple anxiety quickly, and his upset grew due to needs being neglected and life growing only more overwhelming in the worst way.
his sisters picked on him for being the runt, for being a baby, for being weak and pathetic. they'd gang up on him rather than help him through his anxiety and upset.
once he began school, his days started to get better. he thrived under the care of the teachers, and began making friends who helped cheer him up and find relief from the painful home life.
life exploded shortly after, however. after getting only half a year of relief, his oldest sister went missing. nobody knew what happened, she simply vanished in the middle of the day, when she was meant to be at school.
rumours quickly spread around their small town that she had run away due to their parents' cruel treatment. most people close to her doubted the possibility, but couldn't rule it out completely.
their parents began to search for her relentlessly, to prove to the community that they were good parents and not the cause of the disappearance. they put on an act that was cruel to their other children.
items of his sister's suggesting foul play were found months into the investigation, but no body was ever recovered. the case went cold. years later, marty still wonders what happened.
due to the extended time his father took off work, he ended up being let go. the family began to struggle financially, before falling into poverty completely. the reputation of the family made it hard for either parent to find work in the small town, particularly when they were going through such distress themselves and couldn't properly seek out help.
his second oldest sister was taken in by her best friend's family, and an aunt volunteered to host the second youngest sister while they tried to get back on their feet. marty was left without anywhere to go, and was eventually surrendered to the state.
he spent five years bouncing around in the system until the prospect of an adoption came to light. he'd met a couple from boulder multiple times over the duration of two years, and on his tenth birthday he was told that they wished to adopt.
it was the best moment of his life, he couldn't pack his bags faster. to be made to believe that somebody actually wanted him felt better than anything, but then the joy didn't last.
he made the move to boulder, stayed with the couple for two weeks, and then was promptly 'given back'. marty still has no idea why things didn't work out, though he tries to not think about it.
after a year of living in care in between boulder and denver, edmund davies came into the picture, and finally, he had a home, and a family who cared deeply for him. it took time to settle in, but deep down marty knew from the first moment they met that this was his real family.
marty's life only got better from there, that was, until the killings began...
Tumblr media
additional information -
marty is trans, something he began to really realize shortly after settling into his home with the davies. finally feeling safe, and having a family who went out of their way to help him and care for him, he began slowly transitioning at twelve years old.
though no explanation of his chosen name is needed, he is very proud to carry his adoptive father's name as a middle name. marty is actually the shortened version of his birth name, and the name his adoptive siblings began calling him immediately upon meeting (he loves that they told him straight away that he was more of a marty than anything else).
looking back, marty sees his biological sisters' taunting as naive, believing they never had horrible intent but were only dumb kids who liked the control after being made to live under their parents strict control. sadly, it still affected the young marty to the same extent real malice would have.
he's extremely geeky and nerdy and every other version of those two words that he was called throughout high school. most of all, he loves computers and gaming, particularly loving to immerse himself in what feels like an alternate reality and another world.
he always stays ahead of the game technologically, and he always has his nose in a magazine about tech or gaming or both. he considered getting a third job at the station just to check out all of the gear properly, and is often lurking around radioshack.
his favorite person is his older sibling romy. he was the first person he really warmed to when adopted, and his entire life since he's desired to follow his foot steps in a lot of ways. they share a lot in common, and marty admires romy more than anyone.
his first job was at the furniture store, and he stays there even after finding more interest in the entertainment superstore because he loves spending time with romy and helping him out.
he typically either comes across as shy and reserved, or talkative and confident. he definitely has adhd (though undiagnosed) and so when someone gets him talking about something he cares for deeply or knows a lot about, he can talk to them nonstop and as if they're the best of friends already.
he's never had many friends, but he's growing more confident with age, and finding himself with more closer connections.
Tumblr media
wanted connections -
possible connections are not limited to what is listed below. my discord dms are always open to those who wish to plot, you do not need permission from plot calls etc. to message me. responses may be slow sometimes, but i will always get back to you. i don’t like talking in tumblr ims, and may miss those.
gamers - marty is great at playing video games, but he isn't a snob about it and can be a fun person to play with or talk to.
friends of his siblings - being the youngest of the davies, he's always looked up to his siblings and their friends, so i'm sure there's been a few he's tried to follow around like a puppy.
ex roommate - they decided to move out seemingly suddenly, leaving marty to scramble for a new place. they used to be friends but now marty feels betrayed by them.
friends from high school - the few people he's been super close with for years.
newer friends.
crushes - requited or not, from either side. marty will likely never do anything about it.
first kiss - it hasn't happened for him yet, and he's waiting for it to be special.
people who frequent high scores with him.
people who take him under their wing and help guide him along in life - maybe they have something new to teach him.

sometimes i think about how my biological father was half the age of my mother and she was friends with his brother so she was well-acquainted with him before he was 18 and how she already had three other kids and he left before i was born so i was given up for adoption and my mother insisted i was given to a catholic family who would raise me to follow religion and my adopted parents were only adopting because they tried for a decade or so to have children but the mother was deemed infertile but after i was adopted they had a biological child about a year later which means their attention was turned from me to them and i ended up physically and emotionally neglected throughout my childhood and infancy because they developed a stronger connection to their biological child and i developed personality and attachment disorders because the people in my life i was supposed to be able to trust betrayed me in ways i can't talk about and didn't form a reliable sense of selfhood because i was always held to higher standards than my sister and they forced me into their religion even though i never expressed any belief or interest and they'd hit and berate me whenever i thought or did something they didn't approve of and there's no way of telling if it was myself or their pushing that got me deemed a gifted kid but that set the expectations for my entire life even though i really can't live up to it anymore but anyways somehow they thought it was okay to give me unrestricted internet access before i was in school and the internet became the only place i could figure out who i was in a sense and that was where i learned everything i know about the real world but there's some things you really shouldn't know and if you're exposed to it at a really young age it does irreversible damage to your development and it happened to me and it's happened to thousands of other people too and i was one of the kids who didn't get help and by the time i was taken to therapy as a teenager it was already too late and at that point i'd developed OSDD stemming from the lack of selfhood which was a complication of CPTSD as well as various other mental issues and i was put on dozens of medications over the course of the remaining years of teenagehood which restricted all further physical and sexual development essentially fucking over the remaining potential that i had and they wrote reports to CPS multiple times but nothing was ever done and the worst part about it all is that they keep trying to kick me out of the house but they chose me. they chose me. i was adopted, they chose me. and they want me gone because i didn't turn out how they expected. i was a child. i did nothing wrong. and i'm being punished for things that they did.
and i also think about since i'm physically and mentally disabled i'll never be able to work a normal job but i can't live off disability and i'm not even getting that at the moment and my parents don't support me and i have no other family or friends i can go to and i still need to transition but i'll never afford it and life isn't even worth living and i'm beginning to doubt it ever was and i wish i would have killed myself when i had the chance all those years ago and i hope someday soon i'll have another opportunity but the human body is surprisingly durable and i'm not about to go do anything reckless that doesn't have a high chance of killing me instantly so that severely limits my options
it's not like this is the full story, either. i can't remember all of it. memories come and go and i can't tell what i remember until i try to talk about it, but then it doesn't make sense since i leave out important details. i know some of the most significant events are left out, but i can't remember what they are. i know i'll remember later. i've cried about it before, and i will in the future, and i'm crying right now even though i don't know why. i wish i could talk about it, but i can't even tell my therapist. how do i know you won't use it against me. you'll treat me differently. i just want to be normal. please treat me like normal.

Tumblr media
Kindly don't plagiarize, reword or repost without my permission. ლ
Tumblr media
✧*。Fire moons prefer hot showers over cold ones.
✧*。Most of the people who take up any language or literature as a major usually have gemini MC (literally most of my class has this).
✧*。Being on the topic of literature; majority of my session who have taken up literature as a major either have a Virgo or a Capricorn Sun.
✧*。People who take up literature usually also have heavy eight house placements, mostly eight house moon. This probably has to do with them having an innate understanding of the human psyche and emotions.
✧*。Most of the successful lawyers I have seen are Capricorn Suns, one would expect Libras to be here though granted their sign governs law and all.
✧*。On the other hand, most of the successful doctors I have seen are either Aquarius Suns or have strong Aquarius placements.
✧*。Aquarius and Pisces almost always get along with each other. From what I have observed, Aquariuses usually end up adopting Pisces and always look out for them. It's heart warming.❤️
✧*。You might feel a really strong emotional reaction towards a celebrity whose Sun (Moon and Rising too to a lesser extent) conjuncts your Mars, bonus points if it's exact. Either you hate them or love them at first sight but there's no doubt a really strong attraction towards them.
✧*。Capricorn placements tend to be night owls. One would expect that since they happen to be one of the traditional zodiacs, they'd be early risers. But it's okay, burn that midnight fuel babe💗
✧*。Capricorn placements are prone to frequent migraines too.
✧*。Parents with Gemini and Sagittarius placements happen to be one of the most chill, open-minded folks ever. They always let you have fun and usually partake in those fun activities too. They're the kind to take you to concerts and parties and have a blast there themselves too. They are very spontaneous.
✧*。Taurus placements (usually Venus, second house, Moon, and to a lesser extent, Sun) have a very fixed music taste. It's really hard to get them to listen to songs of other genres or suggest them new music. They tend to be really picky with music too. If a Taurus placement likes the song you suggested, then congratulations 🥳, you've made quite an achievement.
✧*。People with Virgo and Pisces in the 8th or 12th or a full 12th house(I'm not sure about sixth house placements though) need to be careful while in relationships; they're prone to be in toxic ones as they have a very self-sacrificial, “I can fix them” mentality.
✧*。People with a full 12th house might have been separated from their parents when they were young, could be sent off to boarding schools too, mostly in far off lands.
✧*。You might relocate to another country in your 12th house profection year.
✧*。A lot of fans who exhibit delusional behaviour, have 12th house synastry with their favourite celebrities. It's mostly their planets that fall in the said celebrity's 12th house.
And that's a wrap, tell me what you think about them. Good bye! ꒰⑅ᵕ༚ᵕ꒱˖♡

Featuring Dad Reyes, son/brother/boyfriend Colt, and sibling Sombra
Content Warnings?: implied werewolf Colt, Gabriel and Sombra, Gabriel being intimidating, few to no couple moments between Colt/Reader, abrupt ending (I'm rusty okay)
Ok here
You chew your lip so roughly you can feel the skin ripping between your teeth.
"Don't look him in the eye," Colt reminds you, fidgeting with his hands. He reaches for the doorbell again, then pauses and pulls his hand back. The process repeats once, “Don’t mumble,”  twice, “A-And call him sir and stuff, he likes that,” then, as he lays his shaky fingers on the button, the door swings open. Colt clears his throat and stands up straight. His dad, on the other hand, is already standing like there’s a stick in his ass.
“Colt,” He starts, looking your boyfriend up and down with an expression that isn’t helping your idea about the stick.
“Yessir.” He turns to you, giving the same treatment but looking a bit more skeptical about it. He manages to catch your gaze, which knocks the air right out of your lungs. His face is covered in scars, but that isn’t even the scary part. His eyes are a horrific shade of red, darker than Colts, but then he speaks in your direction.
“Welcome home, son.” His mouth is full of some of the sharpest teeth you’ve ever seen. You realize you’ve broken one of the first rules Colt told you, so you quickly snap your head down to look at the ground. A large hand comes into your vision, a deep voice following shortly after. “Gabriel Reyes.”
You take his hand, taking a second to remark at the size difference, then give him your name. It came out quieter than you meant for it to, but you didn’t expect him to tighten his grip on your hand and demand that you speak up. You say it again, louder, with power in your chest and a sir tacked on at the end. You squeeze his hand right back, not taking the time to regret your actions. He seems a bit surprised, raising a brow and tilting his head to the side while looking you up and down again.
“Come on in.” He grins, showing the teeth that have no doubt ripped someone's throat out. Colt takes his hat off and presses it to his chest while he walks around Gabriel. You take another moment, briefly wondering if you want to put yourself in this situation. “It’s cold, kid.” He grumbles.
“I know,” You reply, dipping your head down but finding yourself unable to tear your gaze from his eyes. There’s a moment where all either of you are doing is staring. It’s awkward, but possibly no where near as bad as eating dinner with the man.
“We’re not going to kill you.” He assures, the bluntness of it catching you off guard. “Oli- urgh- Sombra made tamales.” He closes his eyes and mumbles some things about Sombra, counting to three by stretching his long fingers away from his grip on the door. “Are you coming in or not?” His face looks frustrated but his tone seems slightly defeated. You answer by nodding and pushing past him into the house.
The dinner was tense. Colt's younger sibling seemed to find it all hilarious, which lightened the mood every time they'd giggle at Gabriel's glare. Said glaring monster told Colt and Sombra to clear the table, which everyone seemed to know was code for giving you and Gabriel some time alone. He deepens his glare at you, then sighs, features softening.
"You know about Colt's upbringing, yes?" The question gave you a few of your own. Did he mean political or religious beliefs? Or the fact that Colt was adopted at twelve? Either way, you know all of it. Colt tells you as much as he can.
"I'm pretty sure, sir."
"Then you know he's more fragile than he seems." You pause before answering. Of course you know that, it's just a bit surprising that Gabriel does. He stands before you can answer, leaning over the table and getting in your face. "If you ever hurt my son," he starts, voice dropping to a low growl and you can swear his eyes are glowing. "You won't even have time to be sorry. Understood?" He cocks his head to the side.
"Understood." You confirm. He nods, then sits back down with a sigh.
"So, tell me about yourself, kid."

Just a little supernatural horror au idea I had the other day and wrote down. Here's Shiro helping Keith with a little problem at home.
(for more context: shiro is basically a part of a supernatural investigators agency and end up taking keith in after they investigate his case)
---
The family who had adopted Keith was nice and kind.
Well.
Had been nice and kind.
They weren't being so nice and kind since they'd become convinced that the Devil had found itself a home in Keith. From Keith's point of view, it was rather this: the Devil, or whatever it actually was -- everyone seemed to accord themselves on this placeholder name for the unknown Evil though; the point was that the Devil was making the family believe it had chosen Keith.
It was malicious like that.
Keith could see it.
He told the family that. And because he said he could see it, for them it meant that the kid was on par with the Devil. After all, the Devil always chose children in tales. It always chose the lone orphan burdened with a tragic past, which Keith was. Really, it made sense.
It was malicious like that indeed.
"I think my family's possessed," Keith said one day, as a matter of fact. His dark eyebrows frowned over the dark charcoal spread all over the drawing he'd been working on for the past couple of minutes. No, it wasn't really true. The charcoal wasn't spread all over, the charcoal was the drawing. It represented the family. Four dark smudges, as dark as the side of Keith's fist -- he had used it to spread the charcoal. They were vaguely human-shaped. Keith wasn't in the picture.
"Huh." Shiro didn't make that sound outloud, but his brief silence did all the same. Keith looked up. "What makes you say that?" Shiro asked. He sounded genuine. He was genuine. Shiro was good, after all. Keith could see it.
So yes, maybe Keith was a little beyond the natural and the normal and could see other things. He wasn't demon-infested though. Unlike the family.
"They've been like that," and Keith tried to remember since when. "Lately," he settled for.
As a nine years old, Keith didn't know much about house cleaning apart from what bright commercials would flash at him. He doubted that any steam vacuum cleaner could ever get the sickly and sticky black goo out from the carpeted floors, though. He also doubted that any coat of paint could ever cover up the black splotches that covered the once white walls either. The family had been... oozing... pretty bad. Lately.
Shiro was staring at the drawing now. Keith was staring at Shiro's brows, pinching ever so tightly. Crazily, Keith hoped that Shiro wasn't judging the drawing too harshly. He could draw way better than that, but, well. There weren't that many ways to convey the image of human beings melting into some kinds of dark blobs other than what he'd done.
Putting the drawing back on the table, Shiro cleared his throat.
"I see," he said slowly. "Maybe you shouldn't go home today."
Keith agreed.
With a last glance chanced at the drawing, Shiro folded the piece of paper in seven, Keith counted, before grabbing a red crayola. He quickly scribbled something on one side of the folded paper. Keith was surprised to find that despite how intently and hard he was staring, that he couldn't quite see what it was that Shiro had drawn. Written?
That, right there, was the weirdest thing.
"Now," Shiro said as he stood up and slipped the piece of paper inside his pocket, "I'm gonna make a couple phone calls and it'll get sorted out, okay?"
"Okay?" Keith parroted, confused. Sort it out. Was Shiro going to "sort out" the demonic infestation that was rotting the family?
How bizarre.
A bone-chilling coldness seized Keith.
"I'm not lying," Keith said.
Shiro smiled. It wasn't an empty placating smile just for the sake of pacifying him, Keith remarked.
"I know," Shiro said as he crouched in front of Keith. "That's why you're gonna stay here, where it's safe, and I'm gonna go there to..."
The coldness turned to iciness. Keith jerked a hand out to grab Shiro's sleeve.
"No! It's dangerous."
"It is." Shiro didn't lie. "But I'm a grown up. It's my job to do the dangerous things so you can be safe."
Keith had heard that before. It had ended with his father going up in flames and Keith going down the pits of loneliness. And Keith's father had been a real grown up. Shiro was only sixteen. A grown up to Keith, yes, but a child still by grownup standards.
Shiro had been the first truly good thing to happen to Keith since his father's KIA ending. He couldn't risk him being eaten dead by the Evil.
"It won't happen," Shiro said. Surprise made Keith loosen his grip on Shiro's sleeve. "Whatever you're thinking bad that's gonna happen, it won't."
"You can't know that."
"Except that I can. I know you can see special things, right?" Keith nodded. "That's because just as you can see some things, I can know some things, okay?"
Keith couldn't see any lie in what Shiro was saying.
"Are you like me, then?" Keith didn't know what "like him" meant exactly. Only that it meant "unlike any other people".
"In a way." Shiro said. He couldn't tell absolutely either.
Keith relented. He let his fist fall into his lap, let his gaze fall down.
"Okay, then. You can go."
"And I'll come back." Shiro said, getting up and ruffling Keith's hair. Keith looked up through the mess of his fringe. Shiro was smiling at him, warm and trustful. Keith could see it, the trustfulness. He could see it.
"Okay," Keith said with a small smile of his own.
With that, Shiro ventured to the family home in Keith's place.
And he came back.

LOKI EPISODE FOUR : THE NEXUS EVENT
Tumblr media
GIF CREDIT TO: @luke-skywalker SPOILERS AHEAD. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!
SYLVIE | there's a lot to process in the short time we get of young sylvie. it didn't seem like she was doing anything that caused a nexus event. when we see her, she's simply playing with her toys on asgard. sylvie asks about what her crime was later on with renslayer but it's never clear cut as to what she did. the only thing we know is that she escaped from renslayer which is why she's so hell bent on capturing and pruning sylvie. i have a certain thought on this later.
WE SURVIVE | the words loki tells sylvie just when she’s given up and accepted that she’ll die on lamentis. that’s what makes loki a loki - yes, he fails over and over again but each and every time we’ve witnessed his ‘death’ he comes back or when things seem to possibly end for his story, loki still manages to survive.
LAMENTIS | based on the namesake of the episode, this is the nexus event that caused them to be found but what was it? personally, from watching the episode and keeping in mind that this is 2012!loki, i think that the nexus event was hope and acceptance between them. i think there’s genuine hope despite being stuck on a doomed planet about to become smaller flying rocks in space. in every apocalypse so far, we’ve seen that basically anticipating and accepting the end of the world doesn’t cause a breach in the timeline because what is there to hope for? it’s all going to be destroyed anyway no matter the little fake hope you have inside yourself telling you that everything is going to be alright. loki and sylvie up to this point haven’t had that kind of hope before ever in their lives. with the acceptance part, i think it's self-acceptance and acceptance of their roles in the universe. roll with me here, loki throughout the mcu has never accepted his fate or what's supposed to happen; he's always fighting it and trying to come out on top as a ruler of people whether it's earth, asgard and sakaar. he doesn't accept to not be a ruler or on the losing side of a battle against earth's mightiest heroes and at odds with the other marvel characters. he doesn't fully accept himself either because he didn't know he was adopted until at least one thousand years later and he couldn't accept that he wasn't destined for something other than a shadow or simply his title as the god of mischief. it made a lot more sense in my head tbh. a lot of people freaking out about this moment being loki falling in love with sylvie/himself but i don't think that's it. loki for once genuinely cares about someone else and i think it's platonic cause while i have little faith in the mouse house giving us more than confirmation that loki is bisexual, i don't think they'd make loki fall in love with himself.
LOKI'S TIME CELL | a nostalgic reveal we get is sif in this looped time cell plucked from loki's memory. apparently, he cut off a chunk of her hair because he thought it would be funny. in typical sif fashion, she proceeds to beat him up in retaliation as well of sharing some biting words. it's interesting how after a few loops and knees to the nuts, loki apologizes to sif about the prank and admits that he's afraid of being alone and acts narcissistic and like a pompous asshole if you will because of this fear. i think this is a bigger break through of his character than the one we saw in the first episode because he's admitting it to someone from his life that he highly respected but acted like a child to her to get her attention even if it was negative. i wish for more vulnerable loki moments because it continues to prove that loki isn't just the god of mischief, he can be more (as thor said in ragnarok).
MOBIUS VS LOKI | honestly, this whole interrogation scene screamed mobius being jealous of loki making pals with sylvie and i loved it. what i like is that mobius does air the sentiment that we all have in our heads after realizing that loki and sylvie did somehow click to create the nexus event. it's narcissism to the max. again, i think loki truly cares for sylvie in a platonic or even a familial sense since they both don't make connections too often with others (romantic or platonic).
HUNTER B-15 | i was wondering what happened with her after her run in with sylvie at the roxxcart supermarket. clearly, sylvie unlocked a memory within her subconscious as well and is starting to doubt herself. we don't see what memory of hers it was but it's enough to make her break protocol and go against the TVA later on in the episode. in conclusion, we have no choice but to stan this queen. also seems like she wasn't reset in that final battle so we'll hopefully see her in the next episode.
RAVONNA & MOBIUS | their friendship is put to the test in this episode. while being of a higher position than mobius, ravonna does seem to care deeply for mobius. she said so herself, she wants to protect mobius...but from the truth instead of the false danger about sylvie that she's filling his head with. ravonna clearly knows a lot more than she's letting on and that the TVA is an elaborate lie. i think she wants to protect mobius from the truth because she doesn't seem to have other close friendships like the one with him. it's also clear she cares for him when he's pruned (supposedly!) by another hunter. also, there's this other analyst/field agent mobius always brings up when we see them in her office so i wonder if it's someone who also knows about the grand lie the TVA is or is even some alternate variant of kang the conqueror who we know is supposed to be introduced in the third ant-man movie. it'd be interesting to see if kang is teased one way or another in the final two episodes.
DO YOU REALLY THINK YOU DESERVE TO BE ALONE? | the question mobius poses to loki when he starts to believe that they may be telling the truth. it's an interesting question to pose because we've been hearing it and have seen it throughout the mcu with loki. the time loop loki's stuck in, sif tells him that he'll always be alone. throughout the mcu, loki has been alone in his plans and mischief despite being surrounded by his family, his future enemies, and his people. loki has known nothing but being on his own, being his own island of chaos. as sylvie put it earlier, they're a product of the universe trying to break free, chaos. mobius knows that this nexus event has something to do with the two of them, for once, accepting that they're not alone or that they're not just a cosmic mistake, there's hope for them to be whatever they want and not just confined to their mischievous roles.
RAVONNA & SYLVIE | in the elevator, sylvie confronts ravonna about her crime as a child. it's something everyone wants to know, what does a young loki have to do to be charged and reset by the TVA? ravonna seems to know that this something she can leverage and torture sylvie with so she claims to not remember. sylvie says that it must've been important and severe enough to mess up the sacred timeline. maybe she wasn't supposed to know that she was adopted until later in her life like our loki. she's supposed to be causing trouble and be this terrible villain but what if with sylvie knowing her true parentage at such an early age, she learned to accept herself/identity and made peace with it. that's another thing that could've caused the nexus event between the two, they had found self-acceptance even at just the brink of death. maybe they're supposed to do so but later in their lives in their own timelines so that's why it's enough to destroy the TVA as mobius hinted at earlier. happy that sylvie decided to keep ravonna for information so i expect the next episode to have them in ravonna's office or still in the timekeeper chambers as ravonna tells us what is going on.
THE TIMEKEEPERS | when sylvie beheads the central timekeeper, we learn that they're mindless androids. it never ends, there's no throne to sit upon after killing them so it seems. it was all just a giant hoax but this further feeds into my personal theory that kang, one way or another, is behind all of this. what i find really interesting is how the other two timekeepers laugh when sylvie beheads one. whoever is behind controlling the fake androids, they have a way to see what is happening and communicate in real time with the TVA agents and variants. hopefully in the final two episodes we see what the hell is going on and how the TVA came to be and why.
LOKI POST CREDIT SCENE | so apparently, loki isn't reset or something of the sorts. he's actually sent to another world. i believe this is an alternate new york where we'll see president loki as you can see the remains of the old avengers tower. this makes me think about mobius' fate to be similar to loki's; possibly sent to either the same place or a similar world. we see three human new lokis here. from the credits, we have classic loki (richard e. grant), kid loki (jack veal), and boastful loki (deobia oparei). apparently there's also a crocodile!loki and i'm here for it. can't wait to see how our favorite variant gets out of it next week!
oh god, this was so rusty and unorganized but hope if whoever reads this can somewhat understand the points i'm trying to get across.

Basically it's just 'Cole goes to visit her there, they almost burn down the kitchen, and make way too many puns', lol.

Also yeah, I couldn't think of a better title, sue me- I just know that they wear one of the colours at some point, so... 🤦‍♀️😂
Trigger warnings: none I think? Huh-
Also, bingo!! I really need to learn better time management, dear freaking gosh- I hope I'm not too late though? I know it's like half a day late, eek- and I was supposed to post this earlier, but I ended up literally falling asleep while writing it😂

---
Trying to escape from killer dire-bats hadn't been on Cole's to do list today - although the mountains were kind of beautiful.
It was a bit difficult to see them while he was being dragged to his death, but hey, didn't Jay always tell them to be more positive?
That was, until he made the mistake of looking down.
Miles of snowcapped mountains touched the pastel blue sky, but he was more focused on exactly how high he was from the ground.
Great.
Trying to swing back onto the Bounty, he didn't notice a golden-winged blur shoot past the bat, almost dropping their spear in haste.
"Let my friend go, or I'll-"
"Vania?"
She throws the spear at the bird, successfully knocking one of its wings.
Huh. She must've been practicing - throwing with accuracy while flying seemed kinda difficult.
"I'm so sorry!" she replies, grabbing his arm before he fell down too. She winces at the strain on her wings, almost dropping him onto the deck. "I was supposed to come earlier, but there was an issue with one of the mines, and it took forever to-"
"There ain't anything in this world that's managed to kill me yet," he replies jokingly, checking that the autopilot hadn't been damaged. "I doubt an angry bird is going to be the first."
"Didn't you mention that you became a ghost once? Pretty sure that means you were dead-"
"Shh, that's not an important detail," he jokes.
"If you say so," she replies with a grin. "Did I mention that Chompy's been tearing down the palace flower arrangements again?"
"Send my regards to the gardener-"
"Did you just make a pun?"
"Remind me why I decided to visit you again?"
"Because you love me?" she asks stepping onto the ground as the Bounty landed gently.
"I hereby crown you as my platonic soulmate," Cole deadpans, taking her hand. "Vania and Cole-"
"Destined to annoy each other for eternity," she giggles, swinging their hands up and down. "But seriously - thanks. I don't think I realized how much work being a queen was."
"What's it like?"
"I mean - I'm glad that people trust me, and they come to me if they have a problem, but the paperwork is a nightmare. I never get to go outside anymore, I swear."
"Paperwork? Also, you just invited me here for a week. I don't wanna disturb you?"
"Nah, I cleared my schedule, don't worry. And trust me, you don't want to know. Everything requires some sort of official written thing, and it's so boring-"
"Official? But you're the queen?"
"Well, yeah, but I don't really want to change something unless it benefits the people. Not after..."
Her smile dims, eyes straying to the palace walls.
Oh- oh.
"You're nothing like him," Cole says firmly, squeezing her hand. "I mean, if you need to take a break, or you can make your job a bit easier by cutting out something unnecessary, that's just gonna help you become a better queen. You've definitely got the interests of your people at heart, and that's the most important thing, you know? And well, uh, everything seems to be going great so far - you don't have to beat yourself up over someone else's mistakes."
"Thanks," she replies softly, her smile slowly returning. "Speaking of breaks, what do you think we should do this time?"
"You could show me around the city again?"
"You've already seen everything cool," Vania giggles, skipping ahead of him. "We don't renovate much - unlike you guys-"
"Hey, it's not our fault that our city gets destroyed every few months-"
"More like every few days," she teases, tying back her golden hair. "How about we find some dragons to adopt?"
"Tempting, but where would you keep them?"
"They could sleep in my room-"
She breaks off when she notices him laughing. "What?"
"N- nothing," Cole replies, in between laughs. "Jay and I just made a bet."
"On what?"
"How many dragons you've adopted. I bet at least six, he bet fifteen."
"Well, jokes on both of you - I'm pretty sure my advisor's going to throw a fit if I show up with another one," she starts, giggling. "We've got twenty living in the palace right now."
"Twenty dragons?"
"They're so cute! You just look into their adorable little eyes," Vania pauses for breath, continuing her animated gesturing, "and you can't help but wanna hug them!"
"Oh, Jay's going to be so mad."
"Aww, I'm sorry guys. They're just too adorable!"
"...Wanna hear a funny story?"
"Yeah, sure!"
"I actually used to be terrified of dragons-"
"No way!" Vania exclaims. "Y'all have been on a lot of adventures though, so-"
"Nah, we used to have our own dragons at first. They were pretty cool! I just- I'm a simple guy! Huge animals with wings are scary up close when you're barely a teenager."
"Or when you're really short-"
"We're the same height!" Cole exclaims, facepalming in a bit of a fondly exasperated way.
"I'm two years younger than you-"
---
"Ugh, whose idea was this?"
"Yours," Vania grins, sitting down on the kitchen counter.
"You were supposed to help me, not leave me high and dry!" Cole accuses jokingly, staring at all the appliances they'd found in the cupboards.
"'One must always be prepared for new adventures,'" she quotes seamlessly, waving one of- what was his name again? Mulch something? Oh! Clutch! Some explorer he was, leaving them to die in the pyramid - Clutch Powers' books in the air.
"Fine," he sighs, staring at the old recipe book she'd found in one of their back cupboards. "But you've gotta help me? I almost burned down-" "Woah, what? If you finish that sentence with 'kitchen'-" "In my defense, Kai was playing a prank on me-" "In my defense, I wouldn't like to explain how the queen of Shintaro burnt down the palace by teaching one of her friends to cook," she grins, flipping through the pages. "What do you wanna start with?" "Something simple?" "Have you ever tried baking bread before? It's a lot of fun!" "I haven't really had the time, but that sounds kinda interesting."
He skims the recipe, raising his eyebrows. "Wait, why does this take hours? I thought you said it was simple?"
"Trust me, it is," she laughs, adding, "besides, I still wanna hear about all your adventures!" "Uh... okay," Cole replies hesitantly, "but if this fails, I'm so sorry." "Give yourself some credit, you guys literally saved the world! Multiple times!" "Bold of y'all to assume we know how we did it," he laughs, only half-kidding. "Besides. I botched soup once."
"I've botched toast," she mock-sighs, smiling. "Pretty sure that makes us even."
"Lemme get this straight. You've messed up toasting bread, but you can bake it from scratch?"
"Trust me, I don't know either," she giggles, trying to open a brightly coloured packet of... something? Did flour come in packets that small?
"Uh, why are you opening something called 'feast'?" he asks, eyebrows creased in confusion.
"Feast," she echoes, trying to stifle her laughter. "Off to a... rocky start, aren't we?"
It took him a second.
"I already regret this," he jokes, facepalming. "But I'd say that your puns are, uh, gold."
"I've un- unleashed-" breaking off, she half-falls off the counter, laughing so hard her face starts to go red, "a monster."
---
"Uh, is it supposed to look like that?" Cole asks, frowning.
The mixture looked less like the dough he'd been expecting - more like one of Jay's inventions gone wrong.
Badly wrong, he thought, eyes widening at the goopy mess of foam that threatened to spill over the jug.
"The yeast?" Vania echoes, poking her head out of one of the cupboards. "Yeah, all good! It always looks a little gross, and you're gonna doubt ever eating bread again, but at least it doesn't taste like it's fermented-"
"It's what?"
"Yeah," she grimaces, exaggerating her disgust a bit. "If aliens ever fell from the sky, they'd think we were crazy for eating bread-"
"Aliens? I think we're a bit crazy!" Cole exclaims, trying not to laugh.
Vania smiles, then sighs, lugging a huge bag of flour onto the counter. "I can never open these bags properly," she starts, eyeing the the bag a bit warily, "and it always makes such a huge mess all over the kitchen. You'd think they'd make it easier for people to use, right? I swear-"
He jokingly puts his hands over his ears. "I can't hear you!" "But you know that I've sworn off swearing-" she replies, breaking off with a laugh. "Pun not intended - that actually made sense in my head. I swear!"
"No," Cole interjects with a grin, shaking his head. "You don't, remember?"
"See, this is why we're friends-"
"Friends? Is that all I am to you?"
"Oh, be quiet," she shoots back, exaggeratedly dragging a hand down her face. "I mean, sure, just because everyone thinks that we're dating doesn't mean that we-"
Wait. What?
"People think that we're dating?" he asks, clamping a hand over his mouth in a poor attempt to muffle his laughter. "I- I- really?"
"I know, right?"
"Even my friends thought so at first," he confesses, dragging a hand down his face. "I mean, as much as I love you-"
"I love you too," Vania replies, completely seriously. "Even if you'll always be more like an annoying-"
"Hey-"
"Sibling to me than anything else," she finishes, grabbing a pair of scissors. Cole watches, a little alarmed, as she stabs them into the flour bag over and over.
"Is it... supposed to be this difficult to just open the bag? Seems kinda stupid-"
"Well, er, they have this piece of paper with glue that you're supposed to pull away from the rest of the bag, but it never works properly and I-"
"Well, we could always make our own flour," Cole interjects, laughing. "I mean, I've got a scythe? Let's go!"
"Uh, but we don't have wheat growing here. I don't think it'd suit the climate very well?"
"Wheat a shame," Cole sighs jokingly, measuring out the flour (which had, finally, escaped the bag).
"Oh my gosh," Vania deadpans, "you did not just-"
"Yep, I did."
"You're horrible," she giggles, "then again, I was the one who started this whole debacle, so I think we'll share the blame."
"Debacle? Where'd you pick that one up from? Sounds kinda cool-"
"Oh, it's from a book someone wrote about you guys," Vania says casually, pouring a cup of water into the bowl.
"Hey, uh-" Cole starts hesitantly, twisting his fingers back and forth, then breaks off. "Why'd you read all that stuff about us, anyways? Adventure books don't really seem like something you read a lot, since we have similar favorite books. I mean..."
"Well, um..." Vania trails off, clearly uncomfortable. "Uh- I guess, well, it sounds kinda stupid, but I'd never really met anyone my age who wasn't a royal or something. I... er, I didn't want to be left out, you know?"
Cole thinks back to a scroll; a quest, a sacrifice. One that his friends never seemed to really notice, unless it was with horror or flinches. Not that he blamed them, but - joking about how he was much more useful to the team when he was freaking dead than he was before he'd stumbled and fell in the temple?
That had been a bit far, even for his best friend. Locks could always be picked or something, he didn't need to be a ghost to provide some sort of value-
Well, that's not completely true, is it? a small voice questions, and he can't keep his hands from shaking a little.
"Jay here thinks you're the least valuable ninja."
Not enough to be a performer. Now, not good enough to even be a ninja, apparently.
Well, he reminds himself firmly, you don't have to be the best - just stand up to those who are cruel and unjust.
Nothing but a scar that glowed warm orange occasionally left of the whole Cursed Realm ordeal, sometimes it was all too easy to forget - or pretend - that it had never even happened in the first place.
Other times, like when he'd dropped a glass of water on the floor and his hands hadn't stopped shaking for hours, or when he woke up screaming, expecting to fall through his bed again, it still felt like he was trapped as a ghost. Literally - and maybe a little figuratively as well.
Yeah. Yeah, I know.
"Thanks for trusting me with that," he replies softly. "And I'm sorry. That sounds... horrible, but, honestly, you're a pretty cool person, and I ain't just saying that because we're friends. People can be awful, and they can- they can leave, but you don't need to pretend to be someone you're not for people to accept you. I kinda know what it's like, and it's... just, uh, not great."
"No, thank you," Vania says, rubbing her eyes. "You're pretty cool, too. And I'm glad that we become friends, even if wasn't in the- the, er, greatest circumstances."
"Right back at ya. The fall was pretty terrifying, though," Cole says casually, as if memories of that nightmarish plunge into the depths of earth don't still send shivers down his spine.
"No, definitely! I was so sure we were gonna splat onto the ground or something, thank gosh we didn't."
"Yeah..." Cole trails off, reading the recipe they'd been following. "Oh- do we just leave the bowl somewhere for a few hours now?"
"Oh, yeah," Vania answers. "Other than clean up the kitchen, what else do you wanna do?"
"That's kind of you, but, ah, I don't mind. You can choose something."
"I don't mind either," she replies, covering the bowl with a dishcloth. "Seriously, I don't."
"Same here though."
"Really, I don't mind-" Vania breaks off with a laugh, adding, "Well, actually, there is something."
She doesn't elaborate, thoughtfully gazing out the window.
"Well, what is it? Don't keep me in the dark."
"Ugh, it's kinda stupid-"
"I'm sure that it's not- well, unless you want to try to jump off a flying ship with a homemade parachute to prove a bet to someone-"
"Do I even wanna know?"
"...uh, probably not. We're way too crazy sometimes, our Master has a hard time keeping us in check. Your thing, though?"
"Can I give you a hug?"
Cole blinks for a second, expecting some sort of punchline.
"That's your thing?"
"Well, yeah- I mean, I said it was kinda stupid-"
"No no, that's not what I meant. You're so sweet - that's all."
"Well, not more than you-"
"Nah, you're sweeter-"
"Let's just call it a tie," Vania says with a smile, reaching over to give her friend a hug. "Thank you so much, I swear- well, no, I don't, but you know, anyways-"
"Yeah," Cole replies, laughing softly. "I know."

PT.3 ++ different but saying that tae would marry a woman just because he wants to have kids seems very illogical. I am not saying things won't be difficult for him but it is also not impossible. I know SK still has a long way to go just like many other asian countries including my own but there has been some progress and one should not disregard that. I have a korean lesbian friend and I have such discussions with her often so i am writing this keeping in mind some discussions i had with her,++
I'm so sorry!! For some reason the rest of your message never arrived in my inbox 😭 It worked with another anon that divided their ask but no idea what happened here :( I'll try to answer your point with the little context that made it through. I'm guessing you tackled different things...so if you wish to try again I'll skip to your ask (mentioning you're the one that had technical difficulties).
Hi! Well, I see you're one of the many that got frustrated with one of my fears, I repeat: fears. I never said it would be impossible for Tae to hold onto his hope of being a father while having plans of staying in a long-term lgbtq relationship. In fact, I've been hearing Tae talk about this topic for YEARS and I still strongly believed that he was in a stable relationship with Jk. His dream of being a father wasn't a deal-breaker in my eyes, and it still isn't. I always thought that he was being positive and trusted that things were getting better little by little, that they'd be able to adopt or apply for surrogacy in the future and raise a happy child in Korea. I thought that if they deemed their environment to be too hostile and unwelcoming for their desired children by the time they were ready to have them they'd become activists that fought for equality, maybe even accept the idea of not having children. I don't mention the option of moving to another country because I don't think they'd resort to it. In theory they could move to another country where adoption/surrogacy is available, where they'd both be considered legal parents with full protection and where their highly scrutinised, non-traditional family wouldn't be so stigmatised, but I highly doubt Tae would ever leave his family behind as long as his parents live. He's so loyal to them and has promised to live his life with the notion that family is the only thing that's left in the end. He already feels bad about having been away from them for so long (same as other members) and takes every opportunity to stay in his parents' house. I think Jk wouldn't be too happy with the idea of moving either…
Anyways, as said, I don't think Tae's dreams of having children cancel out the possibility of TK being in a romantic relationship and planning to stay together. My conclusions of them having an unstable & unlabeled past were reached taking other things into account that had nothing to do with this topic. I only brought up this topic AFTER reaching certain conclusions (which, again, could be wrong). It was the other way around, this topic came to mind as only one of the possible reasons/factors that would explain the way in which I THINK things evolved between them. I'm sorry if it's offensive for many, but I think it's a big life decision that dramatically changes the way he used to envision his future (he really liked to mention his picture perfect future alongside his wife & 5 kids). It's completely possible he adjusted and substituted the wife in his visions with a husband/partner, I'm just saying it'd be understandable if it influenced his decisions and made him reticent to pursue a serious relationship with Jk in the past since it's a difficult and scary path. For example, if he didn't want children he could stay in the closet forever, or keep his relationship quite secretive, but not with kids in the equation. I personally think he wasn't ready to embrace this idea in, let's say, 2016. Plus, I believe he didn't even admit to himself that he was in love with Jk due to: Jk's late 2016 song recs about heartbreak with the 123 timestamp + Tae's statement of not being able to love others until he learned how to love himself (2018) + how they said Tae was learning how to embrace his feelings (2019) + Tae being so attached to CMBYN and it's speech that teaches one should accept the pain that comes along with loving others instead of shielding one's heart & not feeling anything at all (2019) + Tae writing "Sweet Night" that speaks about belatedly realising one had fallen in love after the opportunity had been missed (Dec of 2019) + Soop's reconnecting chat (2020 & probs planned to some extent to give an official explanation to Army's existing concerns regarding their interactions at that time), etc. You can totally block feelings that scare you and put your plans at risk, even subconsciously. The dream of having children goes beyond simply having children, it was about achieving this happy, fulfilled life. He wanted to be admired by his kids, to be a role model and guide them. Give them the happiest life he could. Do you see where I'm going at?
It's true that Tae being so insistent with the topic gave me added fears since I believe TK's past hasn't been the smoothest and I'm still wondering if they finally took the step and started formally dating somewhere after mid 2020 (according to my beliefs, of course), but yes, I agree that Tae could potentially have children with a man and raise them together - the man being Jk or someone else. Maybe that's what he has in mind 🤷🏻‍♀️ Maybe nowadays he has the confidence to imagine himself raising his kids in a non-traditional household in Korea and being able to give them a good life and protect them from prejudice. After all, lgbtq Koreans can apply for international surrogacy without having to move countries, just do some paperwork, wait a couple years and pay approximately 200.000 $ per child, which they have.
