#and how absolutely smitten Zuko is

just heard the term “brojobs” and if that isn’t the most Zukka-coded thing in the world I don’t know what to tell you.
Sokka would be in such denial. “Oh pfft, it’s not like that! They’re just brojobs!”

hey homieeeee
for the prompts list if you’re still accepting (just delete this if you’re not): 8 with Sokka & Zuko? you can pick who you want doing what 😊
always happy to see you feeling good and excited to write, writer’s block is poo and i love seeing you in action 💪🏻
prompt list!!
8. “can you stop laughing? i’m trying to talk to you. how rude!”
Sokka was ridiculous, and it would have annoyed Zuko if he didn't find it so stupidly endearing.
Of course, when the ridiculousness led to Zuko also looking like a fool, he wished he could see through the thick fog of love and smack Sokka away like he would if he were a normal, not-smitten man.
"Sokka, I'm seherious—Stop!" he choked out, squirming like mad beneath the other's touch.
"What's that? I can barely understand you through all those giggles," Sokka replied, grinning.
"I don't giggle!" Zuko insisted, although he knew it was a lie.
"Um, yes, you do. And it's really adorable, too, have I ever told you that? I especially love how red your face gets when I give you all these compliments," Sokka rambled on, fingers still clawing into Zuko's sides with torturous precision. "Can you stop laughing? I'm trying to talk to you. How rude!"
"You just said it was cute!" Zuko replied. Sassing Sokka in that situation was probably not his smartest move, but if he was going down, he was going down fighting (half-heartedly, of course).
"It's absolutely adorable, but you're not listening to me when you're making such adorable sounds."
"Then quit it!"
"Hmm...No, I don't think I will."
Sokka was going to be the death of him. Zuko loved it more than he let on. Of course, Sokka knew.

1 22 and 24 for ryan and atty <3
Eeee yay I'm glad I'm getting more of these! Ty for asking :)
What do they think of each other's family? And how does the family feel?
Ryan is definitely a little intimidated by Atticus's family. I mean they're The Winthorpe Lineage, one of the most revered and known families in the vampire community. His mom and dad are much more traditional/conservative than Atticus, and it makes Ryan uncomfortable when they mention their thralls/familiars or talk about mortals like food. But he does think Atticus's mom is charismatic and intelligent and charming in a lot of the ways Atticus is - the two of them get along. Atticus's dad is a little standoffish but so is Ryan so he doesn't take it personally. Atticus's parents (even dad) really love Ryan. They know that he's not a born vampire and that Atticus turned him, but they've come to accept that and are impressed with the work Ryan's done to master his new powers. Imperia (mom) especially has a soft spot for him. She thinks he's adorable. Like "I could just eat him up!" (figuratively. unless...) Atticus's sister HATES Ryan though, on principle. He's a turned and doesn't deserve the Winthorpe name. He still smells mortal. Ryan is mostly just creeped out and kinda afraid of her lmao Ryan is pretty estranged from his parents and doesn't have a lot of contact with them. They know about Atticus but haven't met him and definitely don't know he's a vampire . Atticus is curious about them and a part of him wants to meet them, but he won't push Ryan about it. He knows it's a sore spot for Ryan, and doesn't take it personally.
22. What's different about their backgrounds? Do those differences affect the relationship?
A LOT. Atticus: white, filthy rich socialite vampire family who are extremely loyal to the Lineage. Atticus was pitted against his sister so they would be competitive and work harder to become more powerful. It worked but gave them an Azula and Zuko type relationship lmao. Ryan: POC working class mortal family with pretty hands off parents who blatantly liked his brother more than they liked him. His brother is his absolute best friend in the world.
It affects a lot of their values. How they feel about work (Atticus: working is pointless; don't do anything unless you love it. vs Ryan: working hard is a necessary evil to survive under capitalism and I take pride in what I've accomplished through working hard at it and being dedicated to that), money (Atticus: literally does not know how much money he has because of infinite generations of generational wealth. vs Ryan: weird about letting Atticus support him financially, much more frugal) and even their aesthetics (Atticus: MAXIMALIST. Loves STUFF and THINGS and ITEMS vs Ryan: Minimalist. Only wants what he needs) Class and race and upbringing are huge. I think there are just some things that Atticus will not be able to understand because of that, but he does try his best.
24. How did they fall for eachother?
If you want the full story 👀
A "brief" summary: They were both contestants on The Bachelorette, and well...they lost the plot. It started off a simple arrangement--Atticus needed a source of fresh blood because blood bags weren't cutting it, and Ryan had a type of blood cancer that essentially gives you too much blood lmao. Kind of a no brainer that they'd meet up to help each other out. The more time they spent together, the more the tension built. There's something inherently intimate about feeding on someone. They also got to know each other on a deeper level. They'd found a blindspot from the cameras and so they could talk at length about whatever they wanted without it being recorded. Atticus was immediately smitten with Ryan. He found him dark and fascinating and easily saw through his prickly exterior to the loving, soft, broken man that was underneath. Ryan saw that Atticus saw him. They were able to bond. But Ryan's internalized homophobia and jealousy about Atticus getting on so well with Aja soured things before anyone could say how they felt. Atticus chose to leave the show, thinking Ryan wanted to be with Aja and not him. But then he came back for Ryan, confessed how he felt, and they both realized what a stupid misunderstanding the whole thing had been. It was a dumb, twisty love story that could've been a lot easier if one of them was just like "hey I think you're cute" but that's not how either of these idiots do things.

Absolutely Smitten by: Dodie
Can't believe I haven't done Zutara since just now. Forgive me for I have sinned. But I freaking love that AU where Katara is the Fire Lady or an Ambassador for the Water Tribe, because both are awsome.
And I just had this idea where Zuko is so inlove with his wife because! YES! Freakin enjoyed drawing their royal attire (or something) and Katara's hair.
Anyway, Zutara! I rewatched atla with my sister last last summer and understood the craze behind the pairing and automatically became a proud Zutarian ¦D I love their dynamic, how well they work together, and how natural their progression is.

Okay I know I just messaged you and I'm sorry to spam you but I just realized how awesome it would be to have Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng find Lan Wangji frozen in an iceberg and have to go on adventures with him to save the world (bonus if Wen Qing and Wen Ning are somehow in Zuko and Iroh's roles)???
LITERALLY NEVER APOLOGIZE, I LOVE CHATTING
Oh oh OH, but I propose that Jiang Yanli would be there too--because let’s be real, the amount of fighting that would happen without her calming presence would be absolutely prohibitive to saving the world. Pre-Wangxian Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian having such different communication issues? (Think of XuanWu Cave novel!LWJ where he fuckin bites WWX--this guy is repressing the extinction of his entire clan [oh fuck, that means Xichen is dead ;-; Uh, I dunno if I can handle that, there’s gotta be a loophole somewhere]). Jiang Cheng feeling like the 3rd wheel (and having the extra baggage that this new, stunningly attractive guy they found in an iceberg is also insanely powerful and his brother is so obviously smitten with him)? Yanli may not be very powerful, but she has a strong sense of needing to help people and care for her brothers and she’s the only one who can read a goddamn map.
Wen Qing as reluctant Zuko-character, sent to prove her loyalty to her adoptive father Fire Lord Wen Ruohan with Wen Ning who takes one look at them when they first cross paths and says, “Uh, except they seem really nice and like they want to help people?” And Wen Qing would very much not want her and her brother to die. Wen Ning continually tries to be absolute shit at catching the Avatar and Wen Qing has a hard time being angry with him.
Wen Chao is discount Azula.

Hi! I’ve just found your blog and will you marry me?!? AANG CONTENT?!?? ! I saw the requests open and if you’re still open for them could I request a Zuko x reader? Zukos been awed by readers sheer power over and over cus he’s a sucker for strong women. And when he joins the gaang he is soo smitten with the reader and every one sees it but the oblivious reader. And he enventually asks for everyone’s help but during the ember island play she finds out cause they over dramatize his big crush?
Awww! We should probably meet before getting married lol  Sorry for taking so long with the request, life has been kicking my butt. Here you go! c:
As a former citizen of a small village in the Earth Kingdom, you always longed for adventure and there weren’t many ways to leave your family farm. Or at least not without having to take something from them, and you had refused to. You knew they had little enough already.
But it was different one day, after meeting the avatar himself and his friends. As an earthbender, you weren’t sure where you could go but you wanted to go everywhere. And if you could beat up some Fire Nation soldiers, then you would be having the time of your life.
You had gone into the market for some feed for the lone ostrich horse, and a few of the Fire Nation soldiers had caught wind of the avatar. You were sure that he could actually take them down himself, but you weren’t exactly going to test that theory, and you trapped them in pillars of earth before helping the group out of the market and towards your family farm.
That was how you had met them anyway, and you had asked to join them that day. You hadn’t exactly expected them to say yes either, but they had, and you were overjoyed. So were they, but you assumed that Katara was more or less just glad to not be the only girl there.
Shortly after you joined however, the adventure you always wanted seemed to be a bit much at times.
First, there was the general that actively tried to get Aang into the avatar state and had put all of you in danger for it. Then there were the nomads that you had wanted to leave in the tunnels, you couldn’t believe how carefree they could be in the middle of a war. Even after all that your group had done to get into Omashu, you all found out that the Fire Nation had overtaken it and that Aang had to find an earthbending teacher himself. You offered, but you still had much to learn for it yourself.
And your least favorite place happened to be the swamp. Everyone there had visions of some person they already met and lost or in Aang’s case, were going to meet. You however, had a vision of your family. You had left them, and who knows if you would see them again, but you kept reminding yourself that it was okay, and they understood why you did.
The next place was some odd avatar-hating village, and Aang got arrested. But it was okay, because the day had ended with him out of prison, you beating up some soldiers, and some weird dough-like thing that you immediately spat out after tasting.
 In another Earth Kingdom town, your group had gone to an underground earthbending tournament which you had a blast watching. You had wanted to participate as well, but ended up following the rest of them as they looked for the Blind Bandit. The day went well, considering Aang had managed to get an earthbending teacher and so had you, despite her parents originally saying no. You had assumed that her parents never changed her mind like she said, having done the same thing with your own.
After Toph had joined, there was a strange metal contraption constantly following them by way of Appa’s fur trail. It had turned out to be the Fire Nation princess herself, and her two nonbending but still dangerous friends. You had helped Sokka and Katara with the other two that you had yet to learn the names of, while Aang was dealing with the last one. There was a fight because of course there was, you were starting to wonder just how many more fights you would have to go through in this. That was not to say you didn’t like to fight. You excelled at it.
That had also been the first time you had actually met the Prince Zuko that had literally followed them around the nations, and the first thing you wanted to know was where his ponytail had gone. Sokka had made sure to tell you all about it, but had left out the fact that he could actually be considered attractive, not that you would say that part out loud, and especially not when he was your enemy as well.
You had definitely been thrown for a loop when Azula had shot Iroh with lightning, only for Zuko to refuse help from any of you, even though Katara would have been the only one able to actually help.
Your second least favorite place was the desert, even though you thought the library had been amazing, apart from Wan Shi Tong getting upset that you guys had actually only come to learn how to defeat the Fire Nation. But Appa had gone missing, and you were absolutely convinced none of that was Toph’s fault. Another part of the desert that you didn’t like much were the buzzard wasps, but at least you had begun learning how to bend sand, which was definitely odd.
On your way to Ba Sing Se, they ended up meeting a few old friends of theirs, the Kyoshi Warriors and you had been quick to introduce yourself as well. Mostly since you had grown up hearing about them, and how amazing they would be, you really aspired to be more like them.
Of course, the ticket lady wouldn’t let any of you get onto the ferry without passports, and Toph had managed to get all of you, only for the group to go the other route to Ba Sing Se when a pregnant lady and her husband had mentioned that their things were stolen. The Serpent’s Pass, you thought was aptly named when going through it. The serpent was terrifying, and you severely hoped that you wouldn’t have to go that way again.
But at least you had made it through before Ying had her baby, which you thought was surprising considering she was quite far along. She asked you if you wanted to hold her, and you declined, having held more babies in your life than you probably would have liked, not to mention you hadn’t particularly wanted to hold any more. At least for now.
The new family had separated from you and your own group when you finally reached Ba Sing Se, only to find out that the Fire Nation trio was back again and they were trying to take down the wall with another metal thing. You had been helping Toph and Katara bend the awful rock and water combination and successfully kept a few of them back that way.
Ba Sing Se was a horrible city in your opinion, the Dai Li only being a part of it, but you were having a big issue with how the poor had less opportunities and the like.
You were partially glad when you left with the group, but heavily concerned for the avatar you’d come to think of as a younger brother. He had been shot with lightning and actually died, it was a miracle when Katara had healed him.
The weeks passing seemed to grow longer and longer, and nobody said it but everyone could tell that there was a lot of concern and worry for Aang when he hadn’t woke up. You spent your days learning how to bend metal like Toph, and it had taken you a while to even start.
Once he was awake however, you had to leave the boats you’d grown somewhat accustomed to and wait for the solar eclipse to grow nearer.
Unfortunately where you had to wait happened to be in the Fire Nation itself, and you hadn’t exactly wanted for more red in your wardrobe but it couldn’t be helped.
The next month or so, you weren’t sure how long it actually had been and couldn’t be bothered to remember, Katara had helped a coast village with its sick by posing as a river spirit and had even blown up a Fire Nation factory with Aang and finally scared the soldiers away from the town by continuing the ruse. Sokka had acquired a master of his own and made his own sword out of a piece of rock that fell from the sky. Toph had been scamming people in town, occasionally with your help but you ended up stopping when you thought that it would be too obvious. Katara had ended up finding another Southern Water Tribe bender, but unfortunately due to decades of being in prison had gone mad and had been kidnapping innocent people and trapping them under a mountain.
Hama had actually terrified you more than anything else had, but you couldn’t help but pity her at first. Your empathy had been shut off when you saw how Katara had to bloodbend her that night, and how upset she was.
The day of the invasion had been off to a good start, but it had been cut short when everyone learned that the Fire Nation already knew of the solar eclipse and had planned for it.
All of you had regrouped, apart from the adults that had gotten arrested for being a part of the invasion, and had gone to the Western Air Temple. Having never gone to any of the air temples yourself, you had quite a bit of fun exploring this one.
When the prince himself appeared and offered to be Aang’s firebending teacher, you wanted to throw a rock in his face and probably would’ve, had anyone else started a fight. It had been his choice to join his sister in Ba Sing Se, and now he wanted to join the group that he’d been chasing this entire time? Needless to say, you held a grudge against him, and you wouldn’t hesitate to earthbend him to the edge of the cliff if he tried anything.
The next day however, Toph returned with burned feet and Zuko had come back yet again. After his apologies, Aang had accepted him as his firebending teacher shortly after that.
It seemed like everyone but the ones that could earthbend had gone on a field trip with him, oddly enough, when Aang and Zuko had gone to learn real firebending, then it was Sokka and Zuko apparently breaking Hakoda and Suki out of prison but they also brought back a prisoner named Chit Sang too. Then it was Katara’s turn, and she went with him to confront the man who killed her mother. Thankfully, she hadn’t killed him.
Instead of camping out, Zuko had offered up a new place to sleep at, and it was a house that apparently no one goes anymore. You were a little weirded out at the thought of it, and Katara thought so too.
“Doesn’t it seem weird that we’re living in the Fire Lord’s own house?
“I told you, my father hasn’t come here since our family was actually happy. And that was a long time ago. It’s the last place anyone would think to look for us.”
“True, but still weird.” You piped up, doing your own stretches as the two firebenders had finished with their training.
“You guys are not gonna believe this. There’s a play about us.” Sokka said, walking out onto the courtyard with Suki, holding a rolled up poster, looking awfully smug.
“We were just in town, and we found this poster.” Suki continued, while Sokka rolled out the poster and held it up so all of you could see it.
“What? How is that possible?”
“Listen to this.” Sokka started, before beginning to read off the poster itself. “The boy in the iceberg is a new production from acclaimed playwright Puan Tin who scoured the globe, gathering information on the avatar from the icy South Pole to the heart of Ba Sing Se. His sources include singing nomads, pirates, prisoners of war, and a surprisingly knowledgeable merchant of cabbage.”
“Brought to you by the critically acclaimed Ember Island players.” Suki finished, before Zuko began to groan.
“Ugh. My mother used to take us to see them. They butchered “Love Amongst the Dragons” every year.”
“Sokka, do you really think it’s a good idea for us to attend a play about ourselves?”
“Come on, a day at the theater? This is the kind of wacky, time-wasting nonsense I;ve been missing.” And with that answer, you all headed out to the theater to see whatever play this would end up being.
Upon arriving, you all settled down into the seats, Katara sitting next to Toph and you sitting next to her, much to Aang’s disappointment, you were sure. You expected Aang to just sit down next to you, but no, Zuko had.
“Why are we sitting in the nosebleed section? My feet can’t see a thing from up here.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll tell your feet what’s happening.” Katara answered to Toph, while your gaze was awaiting on the curtains.
They opened to show what was supposed to Katara and Sokka on a boat in the sea, back in the South Pole you assumed. You almost laughed at Sokka’s excitement to notice the two when he grabbed his sister’s shoulder and pointed from each other back and forth.
“Sokka, my only brother.” The fake Katara let out a sigh, dramatically gesturing to the painted “ice glaciers” on her side. “We constantly roam these icy south pole seas, and yet, never do we find anything fulfilling.”
“All I want is a full feeling in my stomach. I’m starving.” ‘Sokka’ responded, making the real Katara and Sokka give each other a look as the audience burst into laughter.
“Is food the only thing that’s on your mind?”
“Well, I’m trying to get it out of my mind and in my mouth. I’m starving.”
“Is that all that guy says?” You grimaced, starting to dread when your character showed up.
“This is pathetic. My jokes are way funnier than this.” Sokka exclaimed, while Toph laughed at him.
“I think he’s got you pegged.” With that, the rest of you turned back to the play.
“Every day, the world awaits a beacon to guide us, yet none appears. Still, we cannot give up hope, for hope is all we have and we must never relinquish it, even. . . Even to our dying breath.” Fake Katara began to sob, and you drew in a breath through your teeth when Katara crossed her arms.
“Well, that’s just silly. I don’t sound like that.”
“You have your moments.” You admitted, but even you would agree that this was an exaggeration for sure.
“Oh man, this writer’s a genius.” At least Toph was having fun.
“It appears to be someone frozen in ice, perhaps for 100 years.” ‘Katara’ said, when a light shone down onto a floating iceberg.
“But who? Who is the boy in the iceberg?” Fake Sokka asked, the two climbing up the iceberg.
“Waterbend, hi-ya!” Fake Katara cried out, drawing her hand down as if to actually crack the ‘iceberg’ herself, only for it to break and reveal fake Aang, whose actor was a girl apparently.
“Who are you, frozen boy?
“I’m the avatar, silly, here to spread joy and fun.” ‘Aang’ giggled, and you looked to the avatar himself, only to see him frowning deeply.
“Wait, is that a woman playing me?” He asked, right as a fake Appa showed up and went around the iceberg in a circle while fake Katara gasped.
“An airbender. My heart is so full of hope that it’s making me tear-bend.” She began to fake sob, falling to her knees and grabbing onto fake Aang’s leg.
“My stomach is so empty that it’s making me tear-bend.” Fake Sokka cried out, falling to his knees as well and grabbing onto ‘Aang’s’ other leg. “I need meat.” With that, you really couldn’t help but laugh, even when both Katara and Sokka were beginning to glare at you.
“But wait! Is that a platter of meaty dumplings?” The actress for Aang mentioned, pointing up at nothing in particular.
“Ooh, where, where?” ‘Sokka’ quickly asked, only for ‘Aang’ to start laughing.
“Did I mention that I’m an incurable prankster?”
“I don’t do that. That’s not what i’m like. And I’m not a woman.”
“Oh they nailed you, Twinkletoes.” Toph joked, laughing at the play as she basically had been this entire time.
A new boat showed up on the stage, this time carrying Zuko and his uncle.
“Prince Zuko, you must try this cake.” ‘Iroh’ offered, while fake Zuko was looking out at sea with a telescope.
“I don’t have time to stuff my face. I must capture the avatar to regain my honor.”
“Well, while you do that, maybe I’ll capture another slice.” Fake Iroh said, before literally shoving the cake into his face and eating.
“You sicken me.” ‘Zuko’ said, with a disgusted look on his face, and you let out a laugh.
“They make me look totally stiff and humorless.”
“Actually, I think that actor’s pretty spot-on.” Katara joked, and Zuko had been quick to turn to her.
“How could you say that?
“Let’s forget about the avatar and get massages.”
“How could you say that?” Fake Zuko cried out at Iroh’s suggestion, only for you to laugh when you saw the look on Zuko’s face.
The scene panned out to show Aang the actress at the Southern Air Temple, with a tail sticking out of the fake bushes.
“Hey, look! I think I found something.” Fake Aang kept digging into the bushes, only to come back out with a fake puppet of Momo on his shoulder and a fake arm hanging from his side. “A flying rabbit-monkey! I think I’ll name him Momo.” He laughed, before moving the puppet so it would look like it was talking.
“Hi, everybody. I love you.” At the sight of it, both you and Aang let out a low groan. Momo did not deserve this slander.
With another scene, it showed a Kyoshi Warrior, which you assumed was supposed to be Suki before ‘Sokka’ came out, dressed in the same Kyoshi Warrior ensemble.
“Does this dress make my butt look fat?” He said, making the real Suki laugh, as you turned to look at the couple.
“So nobody told me you were a Kyoshi Warrior? I do have a question though. Did you look as good as Suki does?” You couldn’t help but tease him, although this was definitely bringing up some topics that you had missed out on.
The scene changed yet again, but this time was showing what was supposed to be King Bumi. Was he really that buff?
“Riddles and challenges must you face if you are ever to leave this place.” It showed fake Aang pushing a boulder, fake Sokka running from a gorilla rabbit, and fake Katara groaning as she was trapped in crystals.
It cut to a different part of the play, showing a pirate boat and pirates began to surround the trio. The pirates continued to fight each other as the trio actually got out quite safely.
“Why did you have to steal that waterbending scroll?” Fake Sokka asked as they crept away from the pirates.
“It just gave me so much hope.” Fake Katara answered, sobbing yet again.
“I really hope my character isn’t as bad.” You added, wearing a grimace, since you knew Katara didn’t cry nearly as many times as this one made her out to be like.
“The avatar is mine!” Fake Zuko cried out, while fake Aang was chained to a wall with soldiers surrounding him. “Wait, who’s coming?” He pointed to a different part of the stage where a person with a large blue demon-like mask held dao swords.
“I am the blue spirit, the scourge of the Fire Nation, here to save the avatar.” He exclaimed, before the soldiers began to drop to the ground dramatically and he somehow defeated fake Zuko as well as simultaneously untying fake Aang.
“My hero.” ‘Aang’ said, before leaving the stage with the blue spirit.
The scene changed, and it showed a sobbing ‘Katara’ with a fake Jet, hanging from a rope.
“Don’t cry, baby. Jet will wipe out that nasty town for you.”
“Oh, Jet. You’re so bad.” Toph laughed, while Katara tried to hide her face, and you just lightly patted her shoulder with a slight look of pity.
“Look! It’s the Great Divide. The biggest canyon in the Earth Kingdom.” Aang mentioned, standing atop fake Appa.
“Eh, let’s keep flying.” Fake Sokka shrugged, while you only leaned back into your seat.
“Don’t go, Yue. You’re the only woman who’s ever taken my mind off of food.” The two actors dramatically kiss, before fake Sokka turns away with a gag. “Wait, did you have pickled fish for dinner?”
“Goodbye, Sokka. I have important moon duties to take care of. And yes, I did have pickled fish.” Fake Yue said, going up into the sky with the moon.
“You never told me you made out with the moon spirit.” Suki chuckled, and you glanced at the couple to see tears in Sokka’s eyes as he shushed her.
“Shh, I’m trying to watch.” Turning back to look at the stage, you saw the actress for Aang in a fish spirit costume, crushing fake fire Nation ships.
“The avatar is back to save the day! Yay!” He said, kicking and stomping on the rest of the fake ships before falling onto the floor as the curtains closed.
“So far, this intermission is the best part of the play.” Zuko mentioned when all of you sat on the steps outside of the theater.
“Apparently, the playwright thinks I’m an idiot who tells bad jokes about meat all the time.” Sokka angrily shoved jerky into his mouth, as Suki teased him.
“Yeah, you tell bad jokes about plenty of other topics.”
“I know!”
“At least the Sokka actor kind of looks like you. That woman playing the avatar doesn’t resemble at all.” Aang lamented, putting his hands over his head, as Toph shrugged.
“I don’t know. You are more in touch with your feminine side than most guys.” With that, Aang groaned and Katara interrupted when he stood up.
“Relax, Aang. They’re not accurate portrayals. It’s not like I’m a preachy crybaby who can’t resist giving over-emotional speeches about hope all the time.” Everyone had clearly been looking at her but nobody said a word, until she asked. “What?”
“Yeah, that’s not you at all.” Aang backed her up, sitting back down and rubbing the back of his neck.
“Listen, friends. It’s obvious that the playwright did his research. I know it must hurt, but what you’re seeing up there on that stage is the truth.” Toph offered, and you tilted your head.
“Not quite I don’t think, this is definitely exaggerated.”
As the group went back into the theater, the scene was apparently when you had met the group, seeing as it looked like your hometown.
“Well, here we are in the Earth Kingdom.”
“I’d better have a look around to see if I can find an earthbending teacher.”
“Hey, is that the avatar? Get him!” A Fire Nation soldier exclaimed, pointing at fake Aang, when fake you appeared on the stage.
“No, don’t take him! I need to leave this town and abandon my family forever!” ‘You’ cried out, fake earthbending the soldiers out before running with the group. “I don’t want to live on this farm anymore! I want to beat up people!”
You grimaced at their portrayal of you, but at least the actress looked somewhat like you, even if the personality was quite a bit off.
“That’s not. . Quite true.” You added, seeing fake you leave with the rest of them.
The scene was changed into another Earth Kingdom town, and you assumed this was where Toph showed up.
“Well, here we are in the Earth Kingdom again. So we can find an actual earthbending teacher.” Fake Katara repeated, the four of them standing next to a suspiciously large rock.
“This must be where I come in.” Toph whispered as fake Aang ‘flew’ around the audience with a rope.
“I flew all over town, but I couldn’t find a single earthbending master.”
“Here it comes.” Toph said, leaning forward in her seat.
“You can’t find an earthbending master in the sky. You have to look underground.” Fake Toph was apparently a very large and buff man, throwing the fake rock off stage. Which only caused everyone but Toph to start laughing, yourself included.
“Who are you?” Fake Aang asked, as fake Toph spat away from him, before proudly pointing to himself before beginning to flex his arms.
“My name’s Toph, because it sounds like tough, and that’s just what I am.”
“Wait a minute. I sound like a guy. A really buff guy.” Toph said, already starting to smile when Katara turned to her.
“Well Toph, what you hear up there is the truth. It hurts, doesn’t it?”
“Are you kidding me? I wouldn’t have cast it any other way. At least it’s not a flying bald lady.” Toph answered, making Aang frown as you bit back a snicker.
“So you’re blind?” ‘Aang’ asked, waving his hand in front of ‘Toph’.
“I can see you doing that. I see everything that you see, except I don’t see like you do. I release a sonic wave from my mouth.” Fake Toph explained before beginning to scream, causing everyone in the audience to flinch, apart from the actual Toph of course, who only grinned. “There. I got a pretty good look at you.”
The scene changed to show Iroh and Zuko who apparently had long hair now.
“Zuko, it’s time we had a talk about your hair. It’s gone too far.”
“Maybe it’s best if we split up.” Fake Zuko dramatically flipped his long hair as the two actors walked off the stage, only for everyone to come back with fake Azula as well.
“Azula, my sister, what are you doing here?”
“You caught me. Wait, what’s that? I think it’s your honor.” She said, pointing up and everyone in the cast looked away from her as she slipped away.
“Where?”
“She escaped. But how?” Fake Katara asked, and it switched to show Azula and Aang at the wall of Ba Sing Se with the drill.
“If she continues drilling, this wall will come down for sure.” Fake Aang said, throwing a fake rock at her.
“Yes, continue drilling. The city of Ba Sing Se can hide no longer.” Fake Azula said as ‘Aang’ continued throwing rocks, but it never showed how it ended as the scene changed to show a mind-controlled Jet.
“No, Jet, what did they do to you? Fake Aang cried out, dodging as fake Jet swung out with his hooks.
“Must serve Earth King. Must destroy!” He exclaimed as a fake rock fell onto him, before curling up underneath it so his body wouldn’t be showing.
“Did Jet just die?” Zuko asked, as Sokka answered, gesturing with his hands.
“You know, it was really unclear.”
“I have to admit, Prince Zuko, I really find you attractive.” Fake Katara said, now seemingly in the crystal caves of Ba Sing Se as fake you was looking for a way out, hardly paying any attention to the two.
“You don’t have to make fun of me.” The actor said, turning away and then turning back when fake Katara sat down onto the same rock as him.
“But I mean it. I’ve had eyes for you since the day you first captured me.” With that, you noticed the real Zuko and Katara briefly glance at each other with mildly disgusted looks as Aang frowned at the stage.
“Wait. I thought you were the avatar’s girl. And besides I’m in love with someone else.” Fake Zuko then said, beginning to walk away and very obviously looked towards fake you. ‘Katara’ laughed, before starting to say.
“The avatar? Why, he’s like a little brother to me. I certainly don’t think of him in a romantic way. Besides, how could he ever find out about this?” She hugged him, and you looked at the stage in confusion.
“There’s no way you two would do that.” You said, knowing for a fact that Katara was crushing on Aang, and she had already divulged that he kissed her the day of the invasion. “But what I don’t get is why the actor looks at me when he says he’s in love with someone else. What’s up with that?” You questioned, only to get radio silence from everyone there. You shrugged, figuring that you would weasel the answer out of someone later.
“Oh, you’re getting up? Can you get me some fire flakes?” Sokka asked Aang when he walked out of the theater after that debacle. “Oh, and fire gummies.”
“Well, my brother, what’s it going to be? Your nation or a life of treachery?” Fake Azula said, only for fake Zuko to contemplate things.
“Choose treachery. It’s more fun.” Fake Iroh said, drinking some tea as ‘Zuko’ walked over to him and paused.
“No way!” ‘Azula’ yelled before he pushed ‘Iroh’ over onto the ground and headed towards his sister’s side.
“I hate you, Uncle. You smell, and I hate you for all time!” As he left the stage with ‘Azula’, the Earth Kingdom flag fell onto the actor for Iroh.
“You didn’t really say that, did you?” Katara asked, and you frowned when Zuko answered.
“I might as well have.”
The next scene was Ty Lee and Mai taking over Ba Sing Se, only for Aang to appear out from behind the throne.
“Avatar state, yip-yip!” Fake Aang proceeded to be brought up from the stage by a rope as fake Azula appeared.
“Not if my lightning can help it.” A ribbon was thrown at the fake avatar who pretended to be electrocuted and fell to the floor. “The avatar is no more.” At that, the whole audience seemed to cheer, apart from your group.
You stretched during the intermission, thankful to be out of the seat.
“It seems like every time there’s a big battle, you guys barely make it out alive. I mean, you guys lose a lot.” Suki mentioned, only for her boyfriend to quickly respond.
“You’re one to talk, Suki, didn’t Azula take you captive? That’s right, she did.”
“Are you trying to get on my bad side?”
“I’m just saying.”
“Does anyone know where Aang is?” Katara interrupted the couple, and you hoped that the two might finally talk about how they feel.
“He left to get me fire gummies like ten minutes ago, and I’m still waiting.” Sokka complained, only for his sister to turn away from him.
“I’m gonna check outside.” She said, walking out of the theater, as a child dressed up as Aang pretended to fly around.
“Suki, what are the chances you can get me backstage? I got some jokes I want to give to the actor me.”
“I’m an elite warrior who’s trained for many years in the art of stealth. I think I could get you backstage.” And the two walk off, leaving you with Zuko and Toph.
“Well, I think I’m going to go check out how bad Sokka’s jokes are. Maybe you can tell her now.” Toph suggested, before following Suki and Sokka.
“Wait-” But you had cut Zuko off before he could continue.
“Tell me what?” Would someone finally tell you about why fake Zuko looked at you when he said he was in love with someone else?
“I-uh.. The actor wasn’t entirely wrong.” He partially confessed, only leaving you with more questions.
“Wrong about which part?” You simply couldn’t understand any bit of it.
“I’ve kind of been in love with you for a while.” He quickly answered, glancing at you to see your reaction before looking away.
“Wait what-” You said, only momentarily confused before shaking your head. You didn’t exactly understand why, and that’s exactly what you said. “Why? I don’t get it. There’s nothing special or anything about me.”
“You are far from ordinary, Y/N. You’re so strong and-”
“So what you’re telling me, you’re attracted to strong women?” You teased, oddly satisfied upon seeing the light pink of his cheeks as he groaned before letting out a sigh.
“Yeah.” He admitted, before continuing. “I even asked everyone for help with this.”
“Wait, is that why you had told me I was pretty the other day? And why I found flowers in front of my door the next morning?”
“Yeah.”
“Well, I thought you were hot when we first met, so we’re even.” You shrugged, looking at him from the corner of your eye.
“Do you still think that?”
“What do you think?” You answered his question with a question, leaning closer to him until your faces were merely inches apart. “Y’know, I started training to get my mind off you.”
Just as your lips were almost touching, you had closed your eyes only to quickly open them and pull away when you heard a wolf-whistle.
“It’s about time!”

pink-cheeked (aang x reader)
Tumblr media
requested by : anon  -   hi!! just popping by to say you’re a great writer and i’m obsessed w your blog :) i was wondering if you’d do aang x reader with the prompt “are you blushing?” 🥺👉🏻👈🏻 and/or a five x reader with “wanna know a secret?” & “make me”. whichever is fine, again you’re so talented 🥰💛
a/n : nonny ur too sweet<333 thank u for the requests and your five fic will be out shortly! hope u enjoy<3
You frowned at yourself through the reflective glass and huffed, looking over at Katara. She chuckled at you and you shot a scowl her way before pulling at the fabric that surrounded your body.
“Do I seriously have to wear this? It’s uncomfortable.”
“Yes, you have to. It’s a fancy dinner, we have to dress fancy.” Katara smiled when you groaned and came to join you in the mirror. “You look really pretty, Y/N.”
“I… I do?” When she nodded in response to you, you smiled, hugging her gently before the two of you left the room behind Toph. The three of you moved into the main room, where the table was set and some items on food were laid out in the middle. Katara and Toph spoke whilst you tapped absentmindedly on the table, biting your lip in anxiousness of what Aang would think of what you were wearing.
You had been absolutely smitten with the boy since you had met him, considering he pretty much saved your life. There was a Fire Nation raid in your village just a year ago, and you were terrified. But, little did you know, that after one hundred years of absence that the avatar would show up to save you and your village. From that moment on, you wanted to help him in any way that you could, and so you joined the Gaang.
Now, you stood at the table behind your chair, your eyes fixed on your plate to make sure that you wouldn’t make eye contact with the boy you loved. Him, Sokka and Zuko piled in, sitting opposite you, Katara and Toph.
A couple of hours after eating, you made your way outside to watch the sunset. Just the sight of it made you relax and a gentle sigh left your parted lips before you whipped your body around, alerted by the noise of extra feet on the decking. A smile formed over your lips when the arrow-headed boy came to join you, returning the smile when he turned towards the sky.
“Are you okay?” He asked softly, and your heart threatened to melt in your chest at the closeness. You gulped, nodding before moving your face away, avoiding his gaze at all costs. Your face heated up, causing your cheeks to turn a fierce shade of red. Much to your demise, you couldn’t hide for long. “Are you blushing?”
“What? N—No! Of course not!”
“Will you look at me?” He questioned, chasing your eyes and you sighed, hesitantly turning your head to look at him and he grinned cheekily. “You are blushing! I can’t believe you lied to me.” He puckered out his bottom lip, making you giggle and he crossed his arms in fake upset.
“No, wait!” You laughed. “I’m sorry, I—“
“Hey, I’m only kidding. It’s okay.” He closed his eyes, grinning as he tilted his head to the side. You nodded, smiling, looking forward again. You could feel him shift awkwardly beside you, and he turned to you, worry in his eyes.
“Y/N, can I tell you something?”
“Sure, what is it?” Your heart thumped heavily in your chest at what he was about to say, you wondered if he could hear it. Gulping, breath faltering, looking at him and he thought about how to word the sentence. “Aang?”
“I uh… Well, I just wanted to tell you that…”
“Take your time, it’s okay.” You reassured, smiling gently, placing your hand on his in comfort. Suddenly, his lips were on yours, eyes closed, holding your hands in his. It took you a little while before you realized what was happening and Aang pulled away, anxious at your non-existent reaction.
“I’m sorry, I-I shouldn’t have—“ Aang was cut off when you grabbed his collar, pulling him into a passionate kiss. He was completely taken aback, but quickly cupped your cheek with one of his hands, holding you close with the other. His lips moved softly yet fast against yours, burning with intensity. When you pulled away, you giggled, holding his shoulders while he held onto your waist.
“What was that for?” He looked absolutely bewildered; like he couldn’t comprehend that you loved him just as much as he loved you.
“What do you mean?” You chuckled and he blinked.
“That. What did you do that for?”
“Because I’m in love with you.”
“Really?” He exclaimed, eyes wide and you nodded, grinning at how adorable he was. “Since when? How? Why?”
“Since I met you. You’re telling me I would never develop feelings for the cutie that saved me and my village from the Fire Nation? I love you, Aang. I always have.” You cupped his cheeks in your hands, smiling at him and he beamed at you.
“I love you, Y/N.”
The two of you spent the rest of the evening watching the sunset and making shapes out of the stars. You played around in the sea and he splashed you with his waterbending, which you ruled as an unfair advantage.
~~~
“That’s my favorite memory of us. And now I just can’t believe that we’re here. I’m so grateful for everything you’ve done for me, and I love you.”
“I love you.”
You and Aang shared a kiss whilst your friends and family cheered, the two of you pulling away very pink-cheeked. He took your hand and kissed your knuckles, both of your eyes falling to the gem that possessed your ring finger, smiles plastered on your faces.
Now I want an AU fic of limerence where zuko and yue are vampires -🕯
I decided to go with Zuko being a vampire, and Yue is still a human - but our girl here knows Zuko be sporting some delicious fangs 👀
Tumblr media
AU: Limerence (Vampire AU)
Pairing: Zuko x Fem. OC (Ying Yue Jiang)
Masterlist
Tumblr media
“She’s absolutely delicious.” Zuko purred, his fingers toying with the cigarette.
The grey smoke puffed upwards from his curved lips, blending into the dark snowy sky that painted the cityscape. Tiny snowflakes, as cold as their skin, fluttered over them. It took a second too long to melt, an experience now well accustomed, unlike their human counterparts.
Sokka rose a brow at the man before him, amused by his relatively simple but extremely tantalizing statement.
That sudden low pitch, ending with a slight purr. Not in a hundred years has Sokka seen his friend as smitten as now. Zuko’s dark hair slicked back as he stole another puff. He was calculated, stubborn, but most of all, standoffish. Not a single soul able to amuse Zuko for more than a quick drink or fuck.
But now, one would have thought that the man had a heartbeat, those yellow eyes glowing.
“For a minute there, I thought you were blushing.” Sokka snickered, leaning against the brick wall outside of Zuko’s office building.
Zuko rolled his eyes at the poor joke, throwing the dead bud to the floor and sliding on the sleek leather gloves tucked away in his pocket. Sokka watched as Zuko’s red scarf swayed in the light wind before kicking off on the wall he leaned, ready to head back inside. And as Sokka’s large boots hit the thinly veiled snowy pavement, Zuko’s voice caught his attention, blending in with the wind.
“Sokka...”
Sokka raised a brow with a cheeky grin, already knowing where the topic of the upcoming discussion was heading, “What is it, bud?”
“When you met Suki…you told me you felt alive once again...” Zuko pondered, his eyes heavy-lidded as he stared up at the sky.
Sokka slowly nodded, toying with the band on his finger instinctively, “And?”
“I feel the same way about her.”
Sokka’s eyes narrowed, the typical playful tone and expression that often painted his face disappearing for a moment. The weight of Zuko’s words stirring a sense of worry.
“... you’re a vampire-no, a Vampire King, Zuko.”
“And I’m going to make her my Queen,” Zuko smirked, licking his lips with joy as those sharp fangs of his flashed under the streetlights.
The sharp sound of heels clicking against the cold pavement, dainty steps making its way closer as Zuko’s whole demeanour shifted in a snap. Sokka could hear- taste, the erratic beating of someone’s heart - their pulse growing faster in pace as they neared.
A sweet, tempting scent carrying in the air, a smell that had Sokka’s eyes fluttering for a moment. It was rich, so smooth yet dark, an allure that would have any vampire moaning if they lacked the self-control Sokka had built over the years.
“Zuko.” A feminine voice sang, and Sokka saw a beautiful figure appear from behind, shyly embracing Zuko.
How he saw the great King crumble under her delicate touch. A smile appearing in his usually scorned expression.
“My love.” Zuko purred, effortlessly grasping her hand and bringing it to his lips.
The tips of his fangs showed light, playfully nipping her inner wrist, earning a shy blush that showed just how human she was. The bite marks that littered the base of her neck despite how hard she tried to mask it with her thick red scarf. Or the overwhelming scent of Zuko that lingered over her body the longer she stood.
Their eyes were locked, lost in each other’s gazes as smiles of pure ecstasy washed over them. Sokka could only snicker under his breath, Ying Yue Jiang...the human who captured the King’s heart with a single baked cookie.
If There Was One Thing That Could Make Me Go ‘Spoilerphobia’ Good…
Although I generally don’t give a damn about spoilers and in fact sometimes seek them out, there’s a point the anti-spoiler crowd makes that I agree with. When you know how things are going to turn out, your viewing experience tends to change from “first-time discovery” to “analytical repeat viewing”. Suddenly, you’re not watching a story unfold, wondering how it turns out, but interpreting it in the view of the ending, assuming that everything that precedes it ties into and sets it up—because it should. Now, this doesn’t matter all that much if the thing you’re watching is internally consistent and actually does set up the conclusion.
If it doesn’t, well…
So anyway, if there’s something my ATLA rewatch highlighted to me, it’s how confusing and trippy it was to watch the show as a thoroughly-spoiled presumed Cataanger-to-be.
Here are my thoughts from eight years ago as I viewed the story for the very first time, knowing that Cataang was endgame and expecting the story to actually conform to the ship.
The Boy in the Iceberg
Tumblr media
“If no one told me Cataang was endgame, I’d have guessed from this single shot. A story about a hero saving the world, and when the hero meets the main female character it’s shown like this? Doesn’t exactly spell ‘trope breaker’ to me. I’m glad TPTB are committing to this ship and developing it from the get go.”
Tumblr media
“Though I don’t understand the necessity for the age/maturity gap, or for it to be highlighted in this way. It says quite a lot that while Aang views himself as a child and seems to have lots of growing up to do, Katara needs to be reminded she’s still a kid and almost immediately assumes the role of the Gaang’s resident caretaker.”
The Warriors of Kyoshi
“After a few episodes of pretty heavy stuff and Katara interacting with it while fully embracing her motherly role, we’re getting a filler with lots of space for developing the relationship in a romantic way... yet nothing happens. All pursuing is decidedly done by Aang who seems desperate for Katara’s attention which she doesn’t give to him until the end when it’s framed like a mum lovingly watching a nagging son. Neither does Katara recognise Aang’s obsession with fame for what it is—a desire for her to be smitten with him, just a little bit. Not even the opportunity to display some jealousy on her part is seized as she seems more annoyed with his vanity than put out by being sidelined.”
Jet
“Alright, I guess Cataang is going to be the ‘get out of the friendzone’ type of romance because this is getting ridiculous. It’s been ten episodes and so far not a single sign of romantic interest on Katara’s part. Yet there is absolutely no doubt the girl’s crushing on Jet hard and itching to pursue it, war or no war, so it’s not like there’s any ambivalence in terms of her feelings for Aang—they’re not romantic at this point, period. I wonder what Aang will do to become a blip on Katara’s luv radar.”
The Fortuneteller
“So we get a romantic shot of Katara from Aang’s POV, a hilarious romantic shot of Aang from Meng’s POV, no indication that Katara perceives Aang as a romantic possibility at all, and the whole episode is about unrequited crushes, failing to catch your crush’s attention, needing to move on, and destiny being bullshit. Yup, definitely the ‘get out of the friendzone’ type of romance.”
Tumblr media
“OK, I’m confused because there is some thematic clashening going on. The point of the episode so far has been about not minding prophecies and that everyone’s the master of their own destiny, yet Katara’s marriage to a powerful bender is apparently bang on the money? So what is the story telling me, that a) Katara learned nothing about her crippling reliance on fate? Or that b) she’ll pursue Aang, of whose existence she needed to be reminded, to fulfil Aunt Wu’s prophecy? I don’t think I like this. On the other hand, the romance is beginning at last. It’s now impossible for Katara not to factor this revelation into her dealings with Aang, and since Cataang’s endgame, there’s no way she won’t see him in a new light. We’re totally getting lots of pining, aborted touches, and blushing, Toph’s-crush-on-Sokka style, baby.”
The rest of Book I—no sign of Katara’s emotional investment in a romantic Cataang whatsoever
The Cave of Two Lovers
“I have no idea why this episode exists. Not only does the legend of lovers from enemy villages not fit Cataang AT ALL, but the whole story is a thinly veiled excuse for getting the two of them to kiss—and they don’t? And Katara’s so weirdly utilitarian about it? You know, for a girl who was validated in her obsession with destiny and informed she could very well end up marrying this guy, she’s acting pretty nonchalant about possibly kissing him for the first time and forgets about it the second the plot stops hinting at it. So what was the point? Christ, I hope the experience at least finally gets Katara to reflect on her relationship to Aang.”
The rest of Book II—no sign of Katara’s emotional investment in a romantic Cataang whatsoever
Return to Omashu
Tumblr media
“OK, I really need her to verbalize her feelings once because ffs.”
City of Walls and Secrets
Tumblr media
“I could so do with a single moment of Katara reacting to Aang in a similar way and suppressing those feelings. Hell, being infatuated with his power as The Fortuneteller seeded would be enough at this point because I’m being fed nothing.”
The Guru
“My post-catholic brain has no idea what this episode is saying about Aang’s feelings for Katara. Are Avatars as an entity supposed to live like hermits, with no romantic relationships whatsoever, otherwise they won’t ever master the Avatar State and will only go into it at random? Wait, that can’t be correct—Roku is in a loving marriage yet can glow up at will, meaning that romantic love clearly isn’t an obstacle. So what, is Pathik full of crap? Well, no, because everything he teaches Aang works, up to and including his advice to let go of Katara. So what about Aang’s love is such a problem? I’m also pretty confused about Pathik’s likening of the Air Nomads to Katara. Like yeah, the love and belonging Aang had with the Nomads survived and was transformed, but isn’t Cataang supposed to be a romance, albeit one that’s so far failed to manifest? I didn’t get romance from Aang’s relationship to any airbender. I don’t get this.”
The Headband
“FINALLY, a clear sign of Katara’s romantic feelings for Aang. And it took only 41 prior episodes where she either treats him like a baby, or has to be reminded by outside circumstances that he exists as a romantic option, so it’s not like there was much setup. I would also appreciate if Katara didn’t realise she’s attracted to Aang in the very same episode where she literally pretends to be his mum but beggars can’t be choosers. I now feel pretty confident in saying that I’m getting Katara blushing and pining like crazy at last.”
The romance doesn’t come up again for the next seven episodes
The Day of Black Sun
Tumblr media
“WAIT, SHE WAS INTERESTED IN THE HEADBAND! She displayed romantic attraction! WTF happened? Why does she look like someone who was just violated by her sonion? OK, I need a resolution, I need them to address this, have a conversation, something!”
The romance doesn’t come up again for the next seven episodes
The Ember Island Players
“So we’re officially pretending The Headband didn’t happen, I guess. The only thing that surprises me at this point is my lack of surprise. Anyway, what’s the nature of Katara’s confusion? Because with four episodes left to go until the ship becomes endgame, I’d like more specificity as to her feelings since this line reads less like ‘I’m confused because war/I have no clue what my feelings are exactly’ and more like ‘I don’t know how to let you down gently/I had no idea you felt this way or what to do with it.’ Address this, please!!”
The romance doesn’t come up again for the 99% of the next four episodes
Avatar Aang
Tumblr media
“They turned my girl into a golddigger. Fucking end me.
So what I’m getting from this is either a) Katara wasn’t interested in Aang until he became the best candidate for Aunt Wu’s prophecy, or b) Aang was originally supposed to recognise his one-sided puppy crush for what it was and overcome it.
I feel dirty.
Anyway, I heard people are into Zuko x Katara, maybe there’s some decent brain bleach about that.”
I got you girl!!!
@naboosunset
"I’m an INFJ and a Slytherin. I have always loved stories and fictional characters and find it easiest to explain my personality by relating to a fictional character, so: I feel quite a kinship with Jo March from Little Women, Zuko from ATLA, the 1985 Anne of Green Gables, Ada Shelby from Peaky Blinders, and Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. Ive been told I appear aloof and intimidating when you first meet me. Like people used to tell me in college “sometimes I see you walk around on campus and I’m afraid to approach you.” But once I warm up to someone, i am very nurturing and generous and even goofy. I guess... embodiment of “looks like they could kill you, is a cinnamon roll.” I’m also a walking ball of anxiety. I am ambitious and hardworking and proud of my financial independence. I have a fancy corporate america job in finance/marketing but...I am in the market for something else. I used to want to pursue my PhD in history and become a professor, but I’m too tired. Also I’m a practicing cottage and kitchen witch. My home is my sacred place and I dedicate a lot of time to decorating it. If Elle Woods was into cottagecore, that’s what my house looks like. Lastly, I’m pale af, freckly, and have green eyes and strawberry blonde hair. I’m 5’6 but I’ve always felt taller. Being plus size with broad Viking woman shoulders is something I’m incredibly insecure about. I’m the oldest daughter of an oldest daughter and while I can take responsibility and lead, I’m tired. I simply want to be protected and desired."
GIRL.
An Alpha Female needs an Alpha Male to provide for her.
I present.....
HEVY
Tumblr media
Girl, if ever there was a brave boi, it's Hevy.
He may have had a rocky start, but he has a heart of gold and is a born hero. One look at you, and he would be smitten. He would simply worship you as his goddess of victory holding vigil to you every time he goes to battle. Hevy would work double time to let you know how much he adores you. He would be absolutely enchanted by your feminine mannerisms and surroundings, as they are far away from the stark, sterile environments he is eager to escape. He would regail you with tales of his bravery and his chest would puff with pride as you admire his his strength. He would simply flourish under your nurturing touch and appreciate your witty sense of humor. In turn you would adore his intellect buried under his well earned bravado, and he would take great interest in learning about your studies. Every night, he would ask you to tell him your favorite stories before bedtime. And with a name like Hevy.....
He's guaranteed to please in every way possible once storytime's over.
hellooo #73 for taang and #66 for zutara :) hope your weekend is going well!
Hello hello! My weekend was swell, and I'm looking forward to this weekend! Bless up for Thirsty Thursday lol. Anyway, thank you for the ask, these were fun! Haven't written for Zutara in a while so this was good practice. Hope all is well!
Zutara #66. "You're cold"
......
Taang - #73 - “You believe me, right?”
“Guys!”
Everyone turned their heads toward an excited yet frantic Toph Beifong.
And everyone rolled their eyes. They had a feeling of what was coming next, and they were downright tired of all the lies.
For the entirety of their group’s vacation on Ember Island, Toph lied and teased the entire group to no end. And the worst part was that they fell for it every single time.
Not this time, though. Oh no they were not falling for it, and Toph had to know they wouldn’t either.
When she finally approached the group, she panted, “Guys, listen to this. This is absolutely insane.”
Katara sighed, “What is it, Toph?”
“Okay,” she took a deep breath, “Again, this is gonna sound crazy, but I went to the Spirit World, and I could see!”
“Yeah, yeah, and Aang taught me how to fly today,” Sokka jabbed back, which Toph replied with a firm punch to the arm. “I’m serious!” she yelled.
“Toph, you’ve been saying you’re serious all week,” Suki pointed out.
“Yeah, and then you tell us you lied and laugh in our face at our own expense,” Zuko muttered.
Toph huffed and crossed her arms. “Well this time I’m being serious! I went to the Spirit World!”
“Just like you wrestled that saber-tooth-moose-lion?” Zuko asked.
“Or the time you said you stole 20 ostrich horses?” Suki added.
“Or the time you said you learned how to swim to find that jerky I lost?” Sokka said.
Katara rolled her eyes at her brother. “Sokka, only you thought that she learned how to swim.”
“I thought she was helping a friend in need!”
“So she learned how to swim to grab your soggy seal jerky?!”
“A man can dream!”
“All right, enough from the annoying sibling gallery, what matters is that I’m not lying and that I could see in the Spirit World!” Toph yelled.
“Good try, but no,” Sokka replied. “We’re not falling for any more of your tricks, Toph.”
Toph sighed and threw her hands in the air. “But it’s the truth!” She then turned to the quietest one in the group. “Twinkletoes.” Toph marched up to him. “You believe me, right?”
Aang paused, because no, he did not believe her, she was actually a really good liar in situations like this. So of course, he hesitated.
But then she pointed a look in his direction that told him that he should believe every single word that came out of his girlfriend’s mouth and that she would never ever lie to him. The last lies she told were to the group and not him and goodness gracious he was just too smitten with her to believe she could ever be wrong.
He took too long to respond, and she said, “Aang.” And when Toph Beifong used his actual name, it usually meant business. Aang took a deep breath and replied, “Of course I believe you, Toph.”
Toph beamed at him, and the silent period filled the rest with doubt in their assuredness that Toph was lying… So they caved.
“Okay, so you actually went to the Spirit World?” Katara began. “Isn’t that hard to do?”
“What did you see?” Sokka asked.
“It was amazing, really,” Toph said. “I could actually see how gullible you all were!”
Groans of frustration and disappointment filled the air as Toph cackled and continued, “Truly, the most beautiful sight these eyes have ever seen!”
“Toph!” Aang groaned and moaned at his own ignorance. “You betrayed me!”
“I had to, Twinkles!”
“At least let me in on the prank!”
“That would’ve ruined the fun.”
“None of this is fun, Toph!” Katara whined.
“Oh, you’re just mad because I fooled ya again.”
Aang huffed and began to stomp his way up to the inn. “I’m eating the brownie I was saving for you, meanie!”
Toph’s eyes widened. “What? No!”
“Yes!” “Twinkles! Let’s talk about this…”
“Nope, you had your chance!”
“Anything but the brownie, Twinkles!”
The Gaang playing Animal Crossing: Headcanons
(from a discussion with @facebetrayedanxiety)
Sokka plays the most. He is *so* proud of his island design and has put hours and hours into organizing and building his home and his island layout and curating the perfect roster of villagers.  He logs in every day to do the daily tasks and collect the daily items.  He’s on all of the facebook forums to get tips and tricks and he trades with people to get rare items.  We all know about his art skills… but he definitely works really hard on his custom designs and makes custom designs of all his friend’s faces so he can have a fireworks show of his friends.  He screamed when he got a five star rating.
Suki doesn’t play much, but she loves watching her friends get excited about it.  At Sokka’s insistence, she set up a home on Sokka’s island, but very quickly was requested to leave after Sokka caught her moving everything on the island just slightly off of where he had put it and was driving him up the wall.  She wasn’t mad about it though, just went back to kicking butt at GTA.
Aang is enthralled by the peace and kindness of the game- it reminds him of the community he grew up in.  It doesn’t keep his attention long because it’s not action packed so he doesn’t play every day, but he does make sure to log on at least for a bit every few days to say hello to the villagers because he is worried they will miss him if he doesn’t.  He gets a lot of joy from catching new fish, bugs, and sea creatures to fill out his critterpedia. Loves visiting his friends islands.
Katara’s island is gorgeous.  While Sokka’s island is visually stunning in the way that you can tell that he has spent so much time designing each meticulous detail, Katara’s island seems effortlessly beautiful and lush.  She’s designed it so that it incorporates lots of elements of home and things that remind her of her favorite people.  Her favorite thing is helping the NPCs like Gulliver and Whisp.  Has the most immaculate wardrobe.  She’s just mad the character design can’t have her hair loops.
In a world where there’s an accessible version (lets be real Sokka loves the game so much and is so smart and wants to share it with Toph so he probably codes an accessible version for her himself), Toph’s island is… absolute chaos.  Sokka tries to teach her how to make things look nice but she could not give a single fuck about organization or aesthetics.  There is a urinal in the middle of the plaza and a wall of racecar beds in her house.  She keeps begging Sokka to adjust the code so she can make the villagers say dirty words.  She’s aces at fishing because she can hear the sound so well.  Her goal is to get the maximum amount of bells known to man.
Zuko does not want to admit that he plays Animal Crossing but he sure does.  His island is very simple but thoughtful in its design.  He didn’t understand the hype at first, what with the lack of conflict and adventure, but now he is absolutely smitten with his villagers (because they say such nice things! And he! Deserves ! to hear! Nice things!!)  He is always giving gifts to his villagers and smiling to himself whenever they wear the outfits or display the furniture he gives them :)
Uncle Iroh started playing because of Zuko (to Zuko’s embarrassment).  He is not quite sure how it works still but he is very endeared to the little creatures.  At one point, he gets a visit from Pascal where Pascal says something wise, and Iroh gasps and writes it down to use for later.  He really wants to recreate The Jasmine Dragon on his island so he posts on one of the Facebook groups asking for advice in Typical Sweet Old Man On Social Media style.  Everyone in the group loves him and helps him put the shop together, and soon a bunch of the people from the group are requesting his custom design codes and his little tea shop essentially becomes a franchise on hundreds of Animal Crossing islands.  Iroh is so proud but he doesn’t dare brag about it, so he keeps it a secret from the gaang, until one day Sokka is scrolling through the forums and sees a facebook fan group dedicated to The Jasmine Dragon on Animal Crossing and screams.
BONUS: Imagine a turtleduck villager. thank you.
Does zukka fit a flower shop/tattoo shop trope? No, absolutely not. Am I writing head canons for it anyway? Yes, because I want to, and I said so, so I’ll make this work
-zuko loves the arts. Has loved the arts since he was young. He passion starts in the theater, and that’s where he starts to branch out
-maybe, just maybe, he leans away from theater a little bit because of his dad
-he doesn’t really talk about it, but he knows that he ended up going into his field because it was a little bit more masculine
-it takes a couple of years and a lot of therapy for him to separate his history with his dad from the work he very much loves to do, even if he started for all the wrong reasons
-but he’s good at it
-he’s a really good fucking tattoo artist
-zuko does almost exclusively in blackwork
-on occasion he does spot color, and ok of course his signature spot color is red, because its BOLD
-but he really really loves blackwork
-there’s a flower shop on the same block as the shop he works at
-but lets get this straight sokka absolutely does not own this flower shop
-aang does. Sweet sweet aang, who’s a vegetarian, who gifts his beautiful girlfriend katara flowers every other week despite the fact that its literally from his work
-katara loves it no I do not take criticism
-sokka just likes to stop by to bully aang hang out
-a lot
-its also because katara hangs out there so often and sokka just really loves his sister okay
-plus sometimes he brings his work (he’s an engineer, what a smart boy) and works in the back room, paperwork and math and all the administrative stuff
-there’s a little restaurant around the corner that the gaang goes to all the time, its cozy and warm and they don’t mind when their group gets a little too rowdy because they’re nice and they tip as best as they can for young adults in these trying times
-anyway every single person in the goddamn world works on this street okay
-yes this restaurant is iroh’s. We like it that way
-iroh is very nice to them and they are very nice back
-zuko does live in the area but come on, cities are big, you don’t run into people you know ALL the time
-even when they hang out at your uncle’s restaurant all the time
-zuko also has weird hours. He kinda sets up his own schedule, especially around his clients appointments
-but one day zuko is at the shop and a client is a no show, which always sucks even though he has their security deposit, so instead of sulking and going all the way home, he grabs his bag and heads to iroh’s
-settles down in a corner there, out of the way, with a sketchbook and headphones in so he can work on a flash sheet
-his uncles presence is warm and inviting just like his restaurant and zuko feels better just for being there
-and then, even over his music, he hears someone go “hey! He did my tattoos!”
-and zuko looks up to see the gaang, only one of which he recognizes - ya know, cuz you kinda don’t forget doing a massive body-scale blue arrow tattoo?
-and aang didn’t really intend for it to become anything, he was just excited, but zuko also isn’t sure because he’s awkward so he does say hi
-and the gang just kind of hovers over his flash sheet for a while and invites him in and somehow he ends up at their usual table
-(maybe its because he’s AT their usual table, he realizes. Small world, everyone wants the corner)
-now let’s not forget
-sokka is a bisexual disaster
-zuko is beautiful and sokka kinda wants to hate him for it? He doesn’t but he would love to
-also he doesn’t see any tattoos on zuko so he’s skeptical like aang are you SURE you didn’t hit your head
-toph is delighted no I did not forget her she just is too good of a character for me to write her justly
-but anyway she punches sokka (with affection) any time he voices too much skepticism
-on a different day, sokka goes in to zuko’s shop, because he’s around and he wants to see it for himself
-he isn’t allowed to watch zuko work of course, but he does get to watch zuko come out with a finished client and take some pictures of it
-it’s very impressive, and okay, maybe he DID do gang’s tattoos
-which just means sokka is smitten
-zuko is also smitten do not worry. They are both disasters
-zuko gets adopted into the gaang and they start to hang out. Their shops are so close, they love iroh, their ages are similar, and they get along after enough time. Its nice. Zuko likes it
-one day it rains, and gets really humid, and its fucking hot. So zuko finally takes off that dumb beat up leather jacket he always wears, only this time its not covering a long sleeves shirt, he’s wearing a tank top
-and sokka takes it back because zuko not only has tattoos, but they WORK for him
-zuko doesn’t have any shitty tattoos, because he spent so long dreaming of the theater and thinking that he couldn’t have tattoos if he ever wanted to be on stage, that by the time he finally acknowledged that his dreams had changed, he was working with and around tattoo artists and could afford to jump straight to full on intricate sleeves that took several sessions each
-it is the only good thing his father has ever given him. Jk he doesn’t credit his father for shit and somewhere in this universe there is room for his father to go to jail. Its already happened, and he’s sure he’ll have to tell his new friends at some point, but not now. He doesn’t wanna
-anyway his tattoos are beautiful. And all botanical
-they all have little scientific names nestles between the branches and stems, it dips below his clothes line, but they’re gorgeous
-pretty much everyone wonders why the fuck he doesn’t show them off, but he shrugs
-“I do, just not. here.”
-he likes to be recognized for his OWN work on his street, by his shop. Not for the work that’s on him
-aang is very excited and begs him in that way where you don’t REALLY have the option to say no to come look at his flower shop
-zuko does, its very pretty
-sokka pays attention to all the flowers and colors he likes
-color was hard. Zuko only does blackwork, how is he supposed to know which color flowers to give him?
-if he ever asks zuko out. Which he’s gonna at some point, because aang may be happily oblivious (or is that just his own way of playing the game? Sokka never knows) but katara is onto him and he has a limited amount of time to ask before katara does it from him
-they meet at the shop, the whole gaang, but this time everyone shuffles out early to leave the two dumb boys alone, and sokka asks to walk zuko home
-“idiot! You’re supposed to take him OUT not HOME”
-but the walk is nice and sweet and then, sadly, too short
-but sokka does make it a habit
-eventually he gives zuko a package and dashes away after their walk
-its a picture frame, with a bunch of pressed flowers, collaged in with snippets of poetry. zuko can tell they’re from different books, because the sizes and kerning and fonts are all different, and that’s a nice touch of detail
-when he looks them up, he finds a couple of them are from plays, not poetry books, and he binges the plays
-it also comes with a note from sokka that says “you get what I’m saying, so just. Text me if you wanna talk about it”
-he does text sokka
-they go out on a very nice date to a restaurant that ISNT owned by zuko’s uncle, and then go out on many more dates after that
-aang is always happy to give sokka discounts on flowers. sokka’s favorite thing to do is (have aang) make bouquets up of the flowers zuko has tattooed
-(Occasionally, when he gets The Zuko Bouquet, he tells aang a new flower to add to it. aang doesn’t ask, but he does smile. He’s very happy for sokka)
-(turns out zuko’s entire back is covered in tattoos too. sokka is going to lose his mind)
T-Bird (Sweet Pea x Reader)
Hi Guys! Here is a lil something I wrote in an hour which has had limited editing, it’s bad basically! It is also past midnight here so I think I may just be sleepy writing but I hope you like it! I’m obsessed with musicals (all of them) so expect more writing inspired by them and feel free to request anything at all! Remember you are loved, my inbox is always open if anyone needs to talk in these unprecedented times :)
Word Count - Under 2000
Warnings - Bad writing? Not really anything else?
Summary - When you meet Sweet Pea again, things aren’t exactly going as planned. It is made more awkward by the fact he doesn’t know what you’re referencing...so you change that!
-----
It was cold out that night. Cold and ridiculously dark in the middle of nowhere without any of the towns light pollution. So, while it was cold and dark, with car parts and a long-forgotten manual thrown on the floor around you, you were searching for the nearest mechanics on your phone.
The situation stunk. You wanted nothing more to be at home, in bed, not calling up a random mechanic to come to a random abandoned road to fix whatever decided to go randomly wrong with your car. It stunk of the plot of a badly written and self-produced horror movie in which you were the victim.
As the phone kept ringing and ringing, you kept pacing, trying to keep warm. Who would pick up the phone at 2am anyway? No one would be in the shop and it was unlikely to be a home/mobile number. They were probably asleep. With your hope dwindling and the air still getting colder you decided to take a walk and see whether you could find help. Until...
-RING-
'Hello?' you began.
'Hey' you heard a raspy voice from the other end of the phone.
'Sorry to bother you this late, from the sounds of it you were sleeping. My car has broken down and i tried to fix it, but I think I may have made it worse. Is there anything you can do?'
'Umm sure, where are you?'
'oh. Right. Well about that... I'm not too sure. I don't have any signal so can't check on my phone and yeh... Somewhere on a backroad between Riverdale and Greendale. I took the third left turn when I left Greendale if that helps?'
'No, it doesn't but thanks for that Princess. I didn't plan on having to do rescue missions when i signed up for this job.'
It was if him saying the word Princess sparked something in your brain and suddenly the voice became slightly more familiar. 'Sweet Pea?'
'Yes? How do you know that? Who are you?'
'Y/N, umm we were in Math together in High School, not that you'd remember, god that was years ago now.' It had only been 3 years but having not spoken to him in School besides him asking to borrow your textbook, you didn't want to embarrass him by placing him on the spot.
'Yeh, I remember. How've you been?'
'Good up to now. I'm not exactly peachy sat on the side of a road in the middle of nowhere.'
'Well stay where you are, and I'll come find you. Be there soon.' And with that he hung up leaving you alone with thoughts about the 'good old days' and how you have changed.
-----
The sound of an engine broke you out of your thoughts and as you checked your phone you noticed that it had been about 20 minutes since you had called. As a slightly beaten up truck pulled up beside your car you got up from the curb and walked towards your (more beaten up at this point) car once again.
As Sweet Pea got out of the cab of the truck you can't help but feel 17 again. Not much had changed about him, he was still wearing the typical black jeans, his hair was still styled the same way, dog tags still hung around his neck and the iconic serpent jacket sat on his shoulders. Though, something was different. The way he held himself maybe. He looked as if he no longer was trying to carry the world, he looked more relaxed. Either way you felt like a younger version of yourself who would spend math staring at the back of his head wondering if he would notice you.
Sweet Pea had noticed you back then and he was convincing himself in that moment not to feel how he did when he was 17. You were just a customer.
'Hey Sweet Pea! Thank you so much for coming, I'll pay you double for it being, you know, the middle of the night.'
'It's my job. What's the problem?'
'Well as I was driving home, I noticed smoke coming from the engine and a god awful smell and then the car stopped.' At that moment, Sweet Pea looked down and noticed various tools on the floor. 'Um yeh... i tried to fix it but it didn't work.' you say, packing the tools into a bag, a blush settling on your face.
Pea stepped forward and looked under the hood of your car before stepping back. 'Looks like you did more harm than good Princess.'
'Can you fix it?' He responds with a hum before turning to look at you.
'Yes but not here or now, I'll take it to the shop and you can come pick it up in the next few days.'
'thanks.' You say as he begins wrapping some wires and rope type things around your car, attaching it to his truck before getting back in the front cab and opening the other side door for you.
'come on then!'
You hurried over and climbed into the seat beside him. He started the truck up and began the slow drive back to Riverdale. You took that time to admire his profile. You sure knew he was attractive at school but now he's an Adonis. Although, his current look reminded you an awful lot of a character from Grease
'What have you been up to then? What led you to be on a backroad at 2am?' He broke the uneasy silence that had settled between you both.
'You know, just work ended late and I fancied a drive to clear my head. Lost track of time.' Your response seemed short and you were glad SP didn't push further, you didn't need a reminder of your day. 'And what about you?' He looked at you puzzled. 'What led you to be the one picking up the phone at 2am? Had the
leather jacket and decided to go full T-Bird?'
He still looked confused. 'you know "automatic, systematic, hydromatic?"' you pushed but were still met with a blank stare. You decide to let it go as you reached the garage. 'Well thanks for getting me, call me when it is ready, and I'll come pick it up.' You practically whisper, already walking away from him feeing rather awkward and questioning if he had ever even seen Grease - he didn't exactly look the type.
'Wait, let me just get this unhooked and I'll drop you home, don't want you getting hurt.'
'Oh, that's nice of you, are you sure? I don't want to be trouble; I've already interrupted your sleep.'
'What's an extra five minutes though princess?' Truth was, despite not knowing you, Sweet Pea felt drawn to you and couldn't bear the thought of anything happening to you. So, he sat you back in his truck, put your car in the shop and then got back in next to you.
The silence then seemed more comfortable, the tension lay within you both wondering who was going to try and start a conversation - you both did. At the same time. Another awkward moment to add to the many of the night. You started to talk about how school used to be and him about work.
'Tell me about it, Stud.' You hit him with another reference to test your theory and are met with a confused look once again before he starts to go on about work. Before…
'Oh my god you haven't seen Grease!' you interrupt him.
'I don't see what that has to do with anything?'
'The references Sweets, you haven't got them. Thank god I thought I was just being an idiot.' His heart swelled when you called him Sweets, normally he wouldn't take it but the way you sounded so innocent as his name left your mouth made him feel ~gooey~ inside!
'Oh right, was that what it was?' you respond with a hum. 'You like that film?'
'Yes, who wouldn't? Apart from people who haven't seen it of course.' You send a cheeky glare his way.
Suddenly Sweet Pea feels very nervous, a feeling that he hasn't really ever felt before and as he pulls up at your house, he turns to you.
'It's playing at the drive-in on Saturday, if you want to go? If you're free. To go. With me, I mean.' He just about stutters out.
'Sounds great - here's my number, pick me up at 7?' Your reply is perky and a smile settle on your lips followed by a smirk appearing on his. There was the cocky guy you knew. 'Thanks for coming to my rescue T-Bird, see you Saturday' you say turning and walking into your house.
-----
Saturday came sooner than you thought, you had spent most of the previous few days texting back and forth with Sweet Pea and had come to really like the guy. He turned up at 7 as you had said, dressed in his usual attire, you greeted him with a quick, 'Hey Zuko.' before grabbing his hand and walking to his truck.
The drive-in was relatively empty (not surprising as the film had played loads before) so you grab a good spot and go to get snacks before jumping in the back of the pickup and settling between cushions and blankets as the opening credits played.
As the film progressed you and Sweet Pea got gradually closer without realising it. By the end, he could hear you softly singing along to the film and at that moment he knew he was absolutely smitten with you.
It was the way your fingers softly tapped to the beat of the song while resting on his chest. It was how your eyes would light up every time that an iconic line was said. It was the way that you would keep turning to check on him and see that he was enjoying the film. He was head over heels by the time the ending note of 'We go together' played.
'What did you think?' You whisper to him, startling him out of his daze.
'Umm there was a lot of singing?'
'It's a musical Pea.' You respond, playfully nudging him with your shoulder.
'Yes, I know. It was okay, I suppose.'
'I know you're only saying that to keep up the bad boy persona but it's okay, I know you loved it.' You jump out the pickup and climb back into the cab, Pea quickly joins you.
'Okay, okay, I liked it. That's all you're getting. Don't tell anyone though.'
'Course not.' You scoot closer to him as he starts the engine and begins to drive back to your house.
Once you reach your house, the ride home having been filled with off-key singing from you and disapproving looks from Sweet Pea, he gets out to walk you to your door.
'I had a great time tonight Y/N'
You blush, 'Yeh, Me too Sweets. I think the Wiz is playing next week if you want to go maybe, with me.'
He smirked. 'You asking me out Y/N/N?'
'And if I am?'
'I'd have to let you know that you're the one that I want.' You were leaning into him, focussed on his lips but quickly pulled back erupting in giggles as he said the famous line.
'Told you that you loved it, T-Bird.' You lean in again and as your lips meet, you're both smiling because, you both knew, you really were hopelessly devoted.
Ten Sides (Part 14)
“Where’s the bison anyways?” Azula asks.
“I took a boat to get here.” Aang replies.
“Well that’s inconvenient.”
“I figured that I’d be mostly staying on facility grounds so there was no point in bringing Appa.”
“In that case, I suppose that it would be impractical to bring the...Appa along.”
“You do have enough coin to pay for a ship ride back to the Capital, yes?”
“Umm, well, I have something better.”
Azula sighs, “Let me guess, ‘I’m the Avatar so you will let me board this vessel.’”
“First of all, don’t tell me that you haven’t used the princess card. Second of all, I would have said something like, ‘I’m the Avatar so can I please ride on this ship?’”
“You’re too soft.” She mumbles.
At last they reach the end of the jungle. It gives way to a small fishing village that smells of freshly cooked fish and spices, saffron, nutmeg, and ginger mostly. The atmosphere is lively with traditional song, the beating of a drum and clanking of jewelry as a performer dances. It is rich with Fire Nation culture, he wishes that he could spend some more time here but he assumes that Azula is growing impatient, even if she carefully concealed it away.
“He could have just sent me here or something.” Azula grumbles. “It would have done me better.”
At this he chances asking, “can we stop to get some real food?”
“I thought that you didn’t have any coin.”
“Watch this!” He grins. He sprints off to the nearest eatery, looks over his shoulder to make sure that the princess is still watching, and says to the man at the counter, “I’ll show you some neat airbending tricks for a meal!”
“If I wanted a street performance I would go over there.” He points at the dancer and her entourage. “She’s more attractive.”
Azula wanders up behind. “How about a meal for your princess.” She lazily drawls.
“Sure.” He replies. “If she were here.”
Aang is surprised that she doesn’t visibly recoil. She doesn’t even flinch. Though he imagines that she is, inwardly. He can’t imagine that this has done her shaken confidence any favors.
She shrugs, “if you say so. I’ll be sure to send someone to teach you some respect once I get back to the palace.”
“Azula!”  He exclaims, though the man’s face is quite priceless. “You can’t just punish people for...for not believing you.”
“I can.” She replies. “I am the princess.”
“At least you know that this man doesn’t stand for imposters, right?” He tries. Though her bluntness is reassuring. Her manner of speech leaves him feeling optimistic about her recovering from her time with Sangyul so he won’t hassle her too much for it.
Azula shrugs, “I suppose. But that doesn’t get me  my smoked crab legs.”
“Is that all you want?” The man asks.
She nods. “Season it heavily and add a touch of pepper.”
“And I’ll have…” Aang starts
“What she’s having.” The man fills in. “I don’t give out free meals to just anyone.”
“Not even the Avatar.”
“Do you know how many Avatars I see? And they all just so happen to be with tourist groups.” He pauses. “Though this is the first time I’ve seen an Avatar and a Princess Azula together. Think of this dish as a reward for creativity.” He hands a platter of crab legs to Azula.
“It is the truth.” She assures him.
“Thank you.” Aang smiles and tugs her away before she can argue. He leads her to the nearest table and sits down.
“I am Azula.” She frowns. “I...am I not acting like it?”
Aang laughs, “trust me, I’ve never heard you sound more like you.”
“Then why would he question me?”
“Probably because he never expected Princess Azula to show up in such a small town. Your haircut probably doesn’t help.”
Azula combs her fingers through her hair.
“Trust me, no one ever believes me when I say that I’m the Avatar. How do you think that we managed to stay on Ember Island without getting caught?”
She seems to stare off for a moment before picking out a crab leg.
“Just so you know, I agree.” He says upon sitting down.
“With what?”
“That it would have done you much better to send you to a village like this. There’s fresh air and lively people. You could have gotten to know a few people, make some friends. It could have been relaxing and you could have learned how to cook and...” He trails off. “But would you really have stayed if he did?”
“No.” She shrugs. “But he could have had you act as a monitor.”
“And you would have been okay with that?”
“Absolutely not.” She snaps off part of a cooked crab leg and pops it into her mouth.
He chuckles. “I didn't think so.”
“It still would have been better than Sangyul.”
“Hey, wanna go watch the street performer?”
“We have to focus.”
“We’ve been focusing and working hard since we broke out.” Aang pouts. “I think that we could both use a break. I can anyways.”
.oOo.
Just as he was unable to charm his way into a free meal, Aang had no luck procuring them a ship ride home. He did, however, swipe some parchment and paint. He’d left it to her to steal a messenger hawk. She watches him scrawl out a request to Zuko to have a ship or some coins to buy one sent to them.
She doesn’t enjoy having to sit still and wait. Though she supposes that it is a necessary inconvenience. A ship sent from the palace would be much more comfortable than some rickety vessel from a small port town.
She questions Aang’s decision to spend the night on the beach as lays back and listens to the waves crash against the sand. Sand that she has taken special care not to step upon, the last thing she needs is sand in her hair and clinging to her skin to add to the discomforts she already has.
Granted most of the discomforts come from within.
He has already assured her that it has nothing to do with her own demenor and yet she can’t put it out of her mind the man’s blatant dismissal of her royal status. No one has questioned her identity, no one that she hadn’t wanted to. But this man refused to believe that the woman before him could possibly be his princess. And it must be something that she is missing. Something that she lacks that she hadn’t before.
Maybe she has come across as too timid. Maybe she simply hadn’t been as imposing as she used to be… And she couldn’t even flash her fire to put him in his place.
The waves give a particularly loud crash and she rubs her hands over her face. But the Avatar had assured her that she has sounded more like herself than she has in a very long time. Yet, since when did she have to depend on his opinion to form her own. Her nerves leave her queasy.
She wishes that, that was the only thing that has left her rattled. There is something else. Something that leaves her disoriented with dread. Something that comes to the surface each time Aang does something either bold or comforting. It is only a little thing, an itch in her mind. A feeling that, even after so much time, the Avatar is still there in her mind. Somehow still lingering. Why else would Ai-Emi still be flitting about in her mind, gently imploring her to pursue the Avatar?
It isn’t her. It can’t be. Azula can’t be smitten with anyone, much less the Avatar.
And yet there is something enticing about the boy’s dark, do-what-needs-doing side, about his bold readiness to confront and argue with her. About his willingness to give her the harsh push that she had needed to find herself. That side of him, that sinister, brazen side of him is rather admirable. Appealing. That surprising cunningness that she hadn’t expected of him…
She shakes her head. She she doesn’t understand why she can’t be rid of those soft shades of pink that he has put into her spirit energy. It is no wonder the man hadn’t recognized her. She still can’t recognize parts of herself. She still hasn’t reclaimed herself in full.
She isn’t sure if it is more or less comforting to think that her mind is still touched over thinking that these feelings might be wholly and indisputably her own--the unintended by product of opening herself up to someone who truly seems to care for her.
She curls herself up beneath a palm tree and hugs her knees to her chest. Somehow she thinks that her feelings are indeed all her own. She wishes that she could know. She wishes that they hadn’t shaken her sense of self so terribly.
ok guys so im still on my bollywood movies except zukka spree and i had the best idea for them…………hindi medium au
(don’t worry i explain everything that happens so)
this got really really super long (courtesy to me not being able to shut up) so the au is under the cut (its also not formatted AT ALL and like really big paragraphs because i couldn’t find the right places to break it up because, as mentioned before, i ramble and probably used run-on sentences so im sorry in advance :/ )
for those of you who are not brown, let me give you the rundown of the movie (it’s on amazon prime so)
background info (i live in the states so please correct me if this is wrong): in india, there are 2 types of schooling..you have the “hindi medium” which is like public school for us and then you have “english medium” which is like super posh private school for us. and so everyone wants their kid to get into English medium because it’s basically a guaranteed way for your child to become well-read and get a good job so you can “not be a disgrace to the family name” and stuff like that…….got that? cool keep that in mind
on to the plot…..basically it’s rich girl meets poor boy but they have a kid and of course they want their kid to go to an english medium school and learn how to become well read……the issue is after multiple counseling and advisors and rejections and waiting lists galore, they find out because they’re rich and the dad isn’t really well-educated (the dad owns a clothing business..a fabric one..brown people know what I’m talking about), they are kind of like wait-listed since there are other people deserving of it………so they have the bright idea to fake being poor and get the lottery ticket into the school that the poor people are given. so they do it and they get away with it but they realize how shitty the people there have it and they feel super guilty and it’s really emotional because they make friends and those friends are like SUPER nice to them and yeah…..it ends with the dad (who was raised in a hindi medium school) showcasing how talented the kids that are too “uneducated” to join the school are at the rich peoples’ winter showcase or something and everyone claps and it’s a big thing (i cried so yeah it was great)
now moving on the the zukka part…….
i mean canon basically would say zuko as the rich, well-read one and sokka as the poor boy who is smitten but like……fuck the canon  so sokka is the absolute genius and zuko is the one who quit business school and got disowned because his father wanted him to and he didn’t want to (azula is not in this but like....you could find a way to add her ig??) and started his own bakery that’s in collaboration with his uncle’s tea shop and caters to big parties and stuff, while sokka is the mastermind and works at an engineering plant and such because this is my au and i do what i want
they have izumi (how? mai as surrogate because her and ty lee run in the same class as zuko and they obviously kept in touch because they helped zukka elope AND eloped as well because i want mailee and i will get it dammit) and obviously they want her to have the finest education she can have (because zuko is harboring extreme insecurities about how he shouldn’t deserve sokka and maybe he should have gone to business school and that would make izumi get into these schools….it happens in the movie, albeit a little more on the down low but this is zuko we’re talking about so)…..the plot plays out like how it does and so now they’re poor, and they meet kataang (katara is still his sister but they both married below their class and sokka got cut off from katara because he and zuko eloped so he recognizes her……she doesn’t) and their 3 kids and they meet suki..who has an entire dojo and a home to kids who need it to provide for (the kyoshi warriors are a biker gang for people and kids who feel unsafe where they provide shelter and food for however time you need and you cn pry that out of my cold, dead hands) iand they meet toph who ran away from her rich parents to be free of their expectations and they feel SUPER guilty but alas, it’s too late and they go back to their rich lifestyle, after getting a lottery (instead of one of kataang’s children, you choose which one: bumi, kya, or tenzin) and they donate an insane amount of cash to the schools in the poor district to fund for some of the stuff they go without, and aang goes to their house (not knowing it’s them) to thank them for their donation and gets heartbroken after realizing they were faking and stuff………after all of that, everyone feels shitty for a really long time (look you want to end it here i won’t blame you..perfect angst potential) but they have the winter showcase for their young, prodigious students and zuko has the brilliant idea to bring the other kids from the other schools here and put on a show. sokka wholeheartedly agrees (in the movie, the wife is against it but that is NOT sokka’s nature, both he and zuko are both all for helping people and sticking it to snooty rich people) and it ends with everyone clapping and everything is forgiven and stuff (forgive me it came out a few years ago and i forgot every little detail that happened)
