You turn and face him. König looks up to meet your gaze, his pale blue eyes look sad behind his mask. The mask hiding the frown on his lips. He stands and walks to you, wrapping his arms around you in a tight hug.

“I’m going to miss you Maus,” he whispers as he rests his head on top of yours.

“I’ll miss you too.” You wrap your arms around him and hug him back. “Don’t forget about me.” You say with a giggle in your voice to hide the pain in that statement.

The mission went on longer than expected. Two years and seven months, König has been counting the days; marking off the calendar waiting for the day you finally return. He is use to a life of solitude, but without you he feels a new level of loneliness.

He walks past your room every day before returning to his own. Your room remains vacant, everything left exactly how you left it. Every night he looks at a photo of you he has tucked under his pillow, gently kissing it hoping you’ll return to him soon.

It was another day of mundane tasks and paper work for König. He sat at his desk with your file pulled up on his screen, your photo attached. He marks off another day from the calendar, another day without you. Not even intel from you.

Around 12pm, König sits with his mask off, eating his lunch he packed for himself. He wonders where you are and if you’re safe. What if you’ve been captured and murdered or worse, fallen in love and decided to run off with the enemy. Being alone with his own thoughts is torture.

"fuck," he groans, tossing the box on the counter as he lifts his hat to run a hand through his hair. "fuck this."

"what are we- i dont- what should we do?" you ask in a wobbly voice. he turns around and looks at you like you asked the most ridiculous question you could think up.

"yn, we cant have a child. what do you mean 'what should we do?'," he sighs, realizing how you were beginning to spiral. "look, i love you, but we cant have a fucking kid. we're way too fucking young."

you blink at him, a tear falling from your eyes that you try to quickly wipe away. you nod, completely understanding. you look away, wraping your arm around you as you try to comfort yourself.

as soon as you find out you're growing a child, you've had to mourn it too. and nick watched you, practically watching your mind running a million miles a minute.

"look, its your body. if you want to carry it to term, put it up for adoption or get an abortion, im completely behind you," he says stepping closer to you, placing his arms on your shoulders. "but we cannot keep it. im too busy. we are too young."

you nod, shutting your eyes as if to stop the tears from forming. you purse your lips before launching yourself into him, clinging onto him desperately as you sob into his shoulder.

nick sighed and hugged you back, whispering into your ear about how everything will turn out fine. because as far as he knows, you two will be fine.

hello... 😅 uhm, first of all, i truly am sorry in advance for being awkward 😭 but for once i decided not to let my awkwardness keep me from sharing (what i think/hope are) positive thoughts with a stranger on the internet, so here i am.

i'm not around much and legit only made this acc bc like you i'm a late bloomer here and needed as many outlets for my yizhan/wangxian obsession as i could get my greedy hands on, in the big year of 2023... sigh. anyway, as an avid lover of meta/analysis posts since my early fandom days began around 15 (oof 🥲) years ago, finding your acc was such a lovely surprise. i agree with your views a LOT, and really appreciate how eloquent and well-written your posts are! even more so bc there's a lot i still don't know and most of the time the source material is very hard to reach and/or understand due to the language barrier, so having other turtles to rely on to access those, even if filtered by their own biases/opinions, is wonderful. besides, such input coming from a new fan is also comforting and imo refreshing, juxtaposed with that of older fans... it keeps the fandom alive and all that jazz. it's also very brave given how ruthless some folks can be on the internet, and on this corner in particular 😮‍💨 it just felt like reading my own thoughts written by someone else sometimes. i gasped and nodded at your posts soooo many times djskdjdj thank you for that!

I appreciate the encouragement! I try to avoid dramatics, so I'm sorry for the upset last week. The situation is largely resolved, and I am feeling more okay. I kinda backed off because I wasn't sure of my footing here in fandom as compared to others, especially as I do think I have some takes that fall outside fandom consensus. Again, I don't mean to rock any boats and I'm not invested in convincing anybody that they should have the same opinions as I do. Hearing from turtles who do want me to continue posting gave me some more confidence there.

So, yeah, I expect I'll post some more as I have time. I'd like to post more on dd (cause he's my fav). I'd also like to try to figure out gg cause that dude is so confusing to me. I do have RL stuff going on, and I don't have the time to be super-active outside of occasional posts. But I'd like keep posting stuff. At least until I get all my Yizhan thoughts out.

Basically my ps4 decided to try to off itself this week and I had to factory reset it, which ended with me losing all of my saved data, for every game I've ever played on there (including 500+hours in just one of those games 🥲)

i am so so SO curious as to how u made your mensis cage it looks absolutely fantastic (i wanna eventually make my own too :])

Woz's Mensis Cage DIY (Feat. Valtr's helmet)

It was a lot of trial & error— we used a combo of wood dowels and pvc pipes for the bars, tho in retrospect having em all in pvc woulda been lighter 🥲

Base and top are made from foam! We don't have craft foam where I live so we used the foam from those puzzle playmats for toddlers, and layered them to the right thickness

Lots of dremel work to sand out the edges—had to cut all of em w an exacto knife

We glued them together with contact cement and filled the gaps with caulk, then dremel again

Also drilling holes for the bars + the top

Behold. Gay mensis cage

We also started on Valtr's helmet! It was really floppy foam so we sandwiched some chipboard between two pieces to make it stiff

top is leftover playmat foam that we cut just enough so it fits snugly

Tried not to use a lot of contact cement and more regular glue here bc fumes

Primed the cage!!! (also the helmet once it dried)

Used hot glue to seal remaining cracks + smooth "foamy" places

Sprayed silver paint as the base then weathering w acrylics

Used a sponge + brushed black paint to simulate soot/rust, esp corners + edges

Tried to also get the inside. used my hands to make it look spotty + dirty

Chain link is made out of foam! We made em seperately.

Valtr's belt buckle is an old button pin we repainted. Mensis bolts are just round buttons that we sanded the back off.

Didn't have time to make Valtr's belt lantern but a pipe did the trick. The lantern top was made of foam

To connect the chains to the cage we cut one side then fed it thru the hole. Since it's foam, it's pretty flexible. We reconnected it with hot glue and it's like good as new

The fun thing abt hot glue is that if you paint over it, it looks like welding :] perfect for the cage

Tadaaaa

All the rust details is acrylic. Black then brown then bright orange

Brushing them into the corners n crevices really helped sell the look! Especially the water stains on top/under the holes

Anyway ya that's it!! Thanks for reading :]

We started the cage Aug 6 and finished quite literally the morning of the con, Sept 17. Worked only weekends tho bc we had day jobs

It's not heavy for me personally, tho I would def recommend using pvc instead

Feel free to substitute the materials with whatever you have available in your area, and please take into account the total weight of it + the robes! I live in a tropical country so I had to make sure the fabrics were light + breathable enough, and that the cage wasn't too heavy to walk around in for long amounts of time.

I just came across your Astarion fanfic and man, I am in love. I made a Tumblr just so I could follow you and your work. I like the way you think about the world and how to work within the constraints of it.

Wish is one of those spells that get a bad wrap because of players wanting outrageous things and dms getting back at them. I was chatting with my husband about it and he said the best way to use a wish is to wish for something that already exists and change it slightly. It's really hard to mess with it that way.

My head cannon is my Tav (he/they) would wish for a scroll of true resurrection without the time restraints. This would remove Astarion from being Undead and back into a High Elf. My Tav would have an incredibly hard time using it since it means Astarion would have to die. He's scared. What if it doesn't work? What if Astarion changes? What if it changes their relationship in a bad way? Things along those lines.

Anyways, this was a long way of saying I really like your take on the wish spell and their relationship. I seriously cried for her and her not wanting to step all over Astarion for her own wants/needs. I can't wait to read more.

I did do a lot of research in regards to what would be the best way for Tav to help him out. I ran into some interesting options. One of which was having my Tav be a cleric who worships Lathander and could ask him to grant Astarion the ability to walk in the sun again, claiming that he had been an integral part in her journey. But I really love sorcerers and I just had to make it work somehow... and then I ran into the Wish spell, which can go terribly wrong the more complex it gets. Your husband's idea is actually great! Removing the time limit on True Resurrection would effectively cure Astarion of his vampirism. But again... I have a feeling that things could still go wrong, you know? Even if just to create some conflict 🥲

I am still deciding how I will ultimately approach this and if I'll settle for something else 👀
