He then would go onto ramble about how it doesn’t matter if you don’t have a destination, it’s all about the trip there. His words are so inspiring that you agree! You dress and pack for the day, hop in his Jeep, and you are on your way!!!

Acts of service is extremely in line with Josh. The way his vocal coach wrote about his experience on Josh’s birthday was a great example. Although, it was Josh’s birthday and he should be the one receiving all the gifts, he was so attentive toward his guests. He had curated a whole day to make everyone feel special and have a good time. Aside from material things, all the boys have been extremely passionate about raising money and giving to charities. So much so that their fan base has taken it upon themselves to fundraise and donate to those causes without prompting from the boys. Josh took such care dedicating performances and songs to a fan with cancer. He has the biggest heart and it shines through in everything. I think the both of you could bond tremendously over that. As much as Josh would remind you that YOU have the biggest heart, you’d be so quick to remind him how amazing he is!

“Why are we here again?” Seungmin asked as he looked over at Felix who looked unexplainably nervous.

“Ace. Family. Party.” Felix just muttered as he nervously looked around chewing on his bottom lip as he wondered where Ace was.This party was arranged by him and Ace’s mums to celebrate Ace and Ari’s advancements in the royal guard. This was the first real time Felix had talked and arranged anything with Ace’s parents and was the first time meeting the rest of his family along with Ari’s family. Him being nervous was an understatement.

Seungmin rolled his eyes as he crossed his arms. “I’m tired of you.” He muttered as he eyed Felix. “You guys are literally dating. Why am I here?” Felix looked at him with an eyebrow raised.

“I thought…” He muttered as he narrowed his eyes at Min.

“Thought what? Spit it out.” Seungmin said slowly becoming irritated with the older.

“I thought you and Ari were dating and you were just too embarrassed to tell us straight up.” Seungmin stared at Felix for a solid minute before blinking.

“And what made you think that exactly?”

“You guys are always talking.”

“Constantly bickering and fighting? Yes.”

“You seem to always take her side.”

“No I don’t.”

“You bought her a necklace.”

“So?”

“And a ring. For a second I thought you were going to ask her to marry you.” Felix teased with a snort as Seungmin just stared at him unamused.

“Shut. Up.” He said sternly making Felix squeak a little shutting up as he heard the sound of music starting to play. One of Ace’s mum’s, Maria, walked up to them with a warm smile. She put a hand on Lix’s shoulder, the blonde straightening up and smiling down at the woman.

“Where’s Ace?” He asked her while she just let out a giggle.

[start song now!]

“You know how Ace is. He likes to make an entrance.” She hitched her thumb to the back door of their home as the music started to pick up, Spanish singing filling the air.

‘Yo vengo con cosa buena para mi pueblo. Traigo amor, traigo ese suero. Que alegra los corazones del mundo entero.’

With that Ace burst in dragging a grumpy Ari behind him. He was wearing a white button up the first three buttons undone, black slacks and fancy black shoes. The minute he saw his boyfriend Felix melted, smiling in a lovesick puppy manner while Maria laughed lightly. She pat Felix’s back and motioned for him to step forward. “Go dance!” Felix’s eyes widened as he rapidly shook his head no. Ace started dancing along with family members and Felix bit his bottom lip as Seungmin just laughed into his hand at his older friend. He was too busy laughing at Felix that he didn’t notice Ari walking up to them. Not until he felt Felix being dragged away from his side. She dragged Ace who was giggling before taking Felix’s hands and placing them on Ace’s hips, Ace instantly wrapping his arms around his shoulders.

Felix felt his face heat up as Ace giggled mischievously at him before pulling him in to dance, surrounded by family, cheering the two on. Ari came back and nudged Seungmin’s side looking at him with her charcoal black irises. “You’re not safe.” She simply said before dragging him too. They ignored all of Seungmin’s protest, said man huffing, giving up and actually looking at her. He noticed she was wearing a dress, a rare occurrence, that was off the shoulders. It was up to the tops of her knees and exposed any tattoos she had on her legs and shoulders. To anyone else it might have seemed like a simple outfit but to him she looked breathtaking.

‘Mueve tus caderas muchacha morena. Báilame ese ritmo con sabor a pena. Ay, una pesetita, pa' esa vellonera. Para que te olvides de todas tu penas.’

Ari was teaching him the basic step by step, their hands clasped together until she got a mischievous look in her eyes. ‘I don’t like that look.’ Seungmin thought to himself as Jay pulled his hands, pulling him closer and placing them on her hips as he wrapped her arms around his shoulders, swinging her hips to the music. Seungmin looked at her with wide eyes, the smallest of flushes creeping up the back of his neck, as he looked down at the woman in his arms. She laughed and he couldn’t help the bubbling in his chest that he felt. He hasn’t seen her this happy in a while. It was nice.

He playfully rolled his eyes at her as he glanced over at Felix and Ace. They seemed to be in their own world, swaying together, giving each other loving looks and small pecks. His jaw clenched slightly as his chest tightened a bit. He was slightly jealous of what they had but he'll never admit that outloud. He went back to looking at Ari who was silently singing to the song, being one of the few times he’s ever heard her speak Spanish, looking lost in her mind as their dancing slowed down.

Seungmin was about to ask her what was wrong until a little girl came up to Jay and tugged on her dress lightly. The girl put up her arms wanting to be picked up and she moved away from Min. She gave him an apologetic smile muttering a ‘I’ll be right back.’ before scooping the girl up into her arms. She spun her to the music, said girl giggling until she was put on Jay’s hip. She swayed to the music, smiling happily at her as Seungmin watched. The girl smiled big, turning her head and seeing Seungmin. She quickly pointed at him before wiggling in her hold, holding her arms up to Seungmin. The dark haired girl raised her brows before laughing and going up to hand her off to Min. He looked at her in panic as the girl bounced in his arms, arms wrapped around his shoulders. Jay lightly put her hand on the lower part of the girl's back and leaned forward. “This is my niece, Ha-Jun. Her Spanish name is Lula, English name Ava.” She smiled at him as he turned his head to smile softly at the girl in his arms.

She gave him a toothy smile and bounced more. “You’re Seungmin, right!” The man nodded his head trying to decipher her accent, it being a mix of Korean and Latin. The girl happily gasped as she bounced even more. “You’re so pretty in person!” Seungmin laughed as he shook his head and raised a brow at Jay.

“You show your family pictures of me?”

“I’ve got a surprise breakfast for you,” Beck turns to walk away. Sitting at the breakfast nook waiting for her.

Ellie takes a look around her room. Noodle curled up on her pillow, and the house is almost too quiet. With a look at her clock, she knows it’s abnormally quiet for this time of day. No wonder she got extra sleep she didn’t have an Atlas running in there to pull her toes.

She sighs but gets up. Noodle looks at her lazily before she lays back down. “Lazy butt,” Ellie starts to walk away but looks back at the fluff monster. “No, if I have to wake up, so do you,” walking over she picks up her fuzzy friend, and carries her into the kitchen, seeing her dad waiting patiently.

“Where is everyone?” she asks, before sitting an annoyed Noodle on the bench beside her. Sliding in front of Beck she looks at the plate of heart shaped pancakes.

“There’s crunchy cookie butter in the batter. Topped with whipped cream and your sprinkles that you made extra just for here.”

Ellie stares at him as she takes a bite of the rich pancakes. “This is full of sugar. This is not Aster Beck approved. Where’s my mom?”

Grabbing up his own fork, he takes a bite of Ellie’s pancakes. “And the cosmic twins. Where are they?”

“You missing your Attie and Rion snuggles?”

“Orion snuggles. Atlas pulls my toes in the morning.”

Beck gives out a belly laugh and takes another bite, sliding over another plate of sausage. “There’s the Aster Beck. Turkey sausage,” Ellie takes a bite and hums with satisfaction. Her favorite part of breakfast is a few sausage links. “You gonna answer me?”

“It’s been awhile since we’ve had an Ellie and dad day. And since it’s getting closer to Arianna,” Ellie turns her nose up in disgust.

“Her name will be Stella. It makes sense. She’s a star. Just like the rest of us.”

“We’ll see. I like the idea of her name ending in Anna like yours.”

“You know,” Ellie takes a bite of pancake and smiles. “The only reason mommy is entertaining that idea is, her nickname will be Ari.”

Beck furrows his brow thinking about it. “Your mom would name our daughter after uncle Airy wouldn’t she?” Ellie gives her famous little giggle, and gives Beck a big smile. “I thought we could go shopping today, maybe stop at the coffee shop. Go painting, whatever you want to do.”

“Ahh,” Ellie answers with a nod. “This is a Mickey Henry thing, huh? I’m fine.”

“This is a Beck and Ellie thing.”

“Why do you think he’s trying harder?”

“Ellie, do you think your mom and I are meant to be? Like how Iris and James are, your Mimi and Papa? Story and Carter? Blade and Lo, Chris and Lucy, and even Ari, Curtis, and LP?” she nods her head and looks down at her pancakes. Unsure of where this conversation is going or what to say.

“If your dad and mom made it work, where would I be? And Atlas and Orion, and possibly Stella?”

“The twins and Stella wouldn’t be here.”

“They wouldn’t. You came from Mickey and Aster. If I met your mom before Mickey, there wouldn’t be you. And I don’t think the world could handle that. There wouldn’t be this dimpled girl, with her soft curls, pouty lips, Mickey Henry eyes, with the best giggles, the best midfielder I know, the sweetest big sister, and who would be Otto’s twin?” Ellie laughs despite her tears. Wiping at her long dark lashes, and picks up Noodle.

“Ellie I don’t know what was special about Suzette that made your dad want to change. The good thing is he did. Don’t you get to see him more often?”

“Well, yeah.”

“Doesn’t that mean, you get the best tickles more often?” she nods her head. “He comes to your games. He’s even picked you up at school. Your dad is trying. Pumpkin,” Beck leans over the small table, and tilts her head up to look at him. “Your dad has always loved you. Your mom and dad just weren’t good. And that’s okay. She found her person, and I hope he found his. He hurts because he’s realizes how much he missed with you. He’ll never be able to get any of that time back. But he’s trying now. I know your mom and dad still argue, but that’s because your mom wants him to be the best he can be. I also know this time is confusing to you, and maybe you need to talk to him about how you’re feeling, so he understands what you’re feeling is valid. It’s okay for you to be angry, to be confused. It’s okay for you to say that today, you don’t like your dad.”

Ellie gasps, “Daddy…dad, that’s not nice.”

“Do you always like me or your mom? Or when Atlas pulls your toes, do you like him?” she looks at him understanding a bit more what he’s saying. “But, we always love each other. Ellie, I know I didn’t get to see you take your first steps, or hear your first words. But I taught you to ride a bike with no training wheels. I help you with your soccer. I’ve helped you with science projects, taken you to dentists appointments, held you when you’ve had a nightmare, and I know we’ll have so many more memories. But I don’t want to take his place. I just want to be a bonus dad. Not every kid gets to have two. And now that Mickey is there, he gets to have moments with you. But I also want you to put your trust me. I do not care if it’s three o’clock in the morning, I’ll be right there with you. I didn’t just marry your mommy, I married you too.”

“What should I call you?”

“After all that, you still want to know what to call me?” he giggles but stands to go sit beside her. “As long as you’re not calling me a poopy face, I don’t care. If you want to call me Becks again, I’m okay with that too. I want you to be comfortable. Now, instead of me making you cry, why don’t you go get dressed. We’ll go shopping and then get coffee okay?”

“Don’t twist my arm, dad,” leaning up she gives a kiss to his cheek and smiles. “Thanks. I love you. Maybe, a movie later. But here, with candy and popcorn, and my brothers.”
