idk it's just the way that unless they're a bat, characters are just completely disposable. the way everything outside of batcomics is seen as so worthless, everything about a character will be erased not for any particular reason or with any real goal but seemingly just because the writer couldn't be bothered to even google them and not a single editor had a problem with them replacing their entire history with some random bullshit they just made up on the spot

can you imagine if a writer had dick make a passing comment about how bruce took him in as a baby after finding him in the dumpster his real parents had thrown him in shortly after he was born

and instead of just ignoring it because what the fuck are you talking about, future writers who also couldn't care less about him just rolled with it and suddenly, the entire history of this character was just GONE in favor of this one random line about him being a trash can baby

thinking about how isolated jason was throughout his entire life is not for the weak!!!

as a child, he was homeless, both parents gone, and had no friends. he couldn't have been more isolated during a time where he should've been making friends in school.

as robin, he had no hero friends his age like dick, tim, and damian have. all he had was bruce and alfred. it didn't seem like any of the school kids particularly liked him. he was so alone during his robin years, those young teenage years where he should've been surrounded by friends and peers.

then he comes back to life, gets sent to a care home where he's unaware of everything, survives alone on the streets for a year, lives with talia for a year where he's just basically used like a science experiment while catatonic, and then he finally returns to gotham and literally just works alone. artemis and bizzaro come later on but even they eventually leave.

he was so alone and it's sad to think that he never got the chance to be a typical hero or child like dick, tim, and damian got to be

Currently obsessed with the fact that when Artemis Fowl had amnesia and thought he and Holly were going to die he pretended to remember Holly so that in her last moments she would feel like she was with a friend and how even though he was annoyed by the psychiatrist gnome he (unprompted) drew up a plan to fix the guy's hip problem and how he finally calls his mother "Mum" and how he couldn't lie to Holly for more than a day and how he made a stuffed animal for his baby brother that praises the kid's science experiments and how Artemis Fowl went from caring about no one but himself to refusing to let anyone die on his watch and meeting the very idea with "unacceptable".
