1 - [ https://www.yourdictionary.com ] I use this site for the thesaurus, It helps to find synonyms for words so you don't repeat "said" a thousand times in your book.

2 - [ https://milanote.com ] This one is very helpful for organising your ideas with story boards, though it's partially free it has a paid version where you can get even more features. I use the free version.

3 - [ https://inkarnate.com ] This site is very popular to create maps, and for good reason. It's free version gives you all the features necessary to create maps, but the paid version gives you extra features. I use the free version.

4 - [ https://www.behindthename.com ] I use this one for names. It has a database of endless names alongside their country of origin and meaning. Very useful, though I use it to make sure the names I come up with don't end the wrong way.

5 - [ https://www.pinterest.com ] Do I even need to explain? Ideas? Here. Visualisation? Here. Everything you'll ever need? Here.

6 - [ https://quillbot.com ] Heard of it from a beloved friend. This site is useful for tone checks, grammar checks, and more. I only use it to edit.

7 - [ Google Docs ] I only use this one for writing, its free and perfectly usable.

Not much found on this name other than it’s a surname with possible Polish and/or Jewish origin.

In Polish, it’s a nickname meaning “big fat rooster”. ‘Kur’ meaning rooster.

Mhin ✨ The Cursed Outsider

No name meaning found for this spelling. The closest I could find was the name Min.

Min - Chinese and Korean origin. From 敏 (mǐn) meaning "quick, clever, sharp", 民 (mín) meaning "people, citizens"

Sen ✨ The Reanimated Warden

Names in Last Legacy and their meanings

I made a post like this a while back but didn't go into too much detail and only did the names of the main 3 plus Rime, Lucan and Elowen.

So here's a more in depth look plus more characters.

Sage - Latin for "wise" or "healthy" or English for the sage plant.

Lesath - 1. Greek meaning "foggy." 2. The name comes from the Arabic las’a, meaning “pass (or bite) of a poisonous animal.” Also one of the stars in the Scorpio constellation.

Tulsi- Hindu meaning "basil"

Ain - Arabic meaning "eye" or Estonian for "Yahweh is gracious." Also one of the major stars in the Taurus constellation.

Anisa - Arabic for "pleasant companion" or a possible play on the star anise plant.

Anka - Hebrew meaning "grace" or "favor." Ankaa is also a star in the Phoenix constellation.

Felix - Latin for "happy" or "lucky."

Iskandar - Arabic variant of the name Alexander.

Escellun - Son of Escell.

Elowen - Cornish for "elm tree"

Lucan - Italian for "light" or the Irish variant of the name Luke

Completed novelette. 13 chapters, 10.8k words and my only finished story, discounting a cringe 8 chapter short story I wrote when I was 12. Am I proud of this? It's not my magnum opus, that's for sure. I wrote this in 2 months. However, I'm happy that I finished a story and hope to write many more in future.

Summary:

Shadowed by a civilian woman who knows of his profession and yet doesn't care, the assassin for hire known as "The Raven" can't help but act more human.

When the woman, Hannah, worms her way deeper and deeper into the wretched life he lives, The Raven wishes that he was strong enough to turn her away. But his infatuation and her damned persistence won't let him.

As the two spiral deeper down a path of no return, The Raven has to wonder, “Who’s ruin will this lead to?”

His own? Or Hannah’s?

POV of a character I don't plan on giving a POV in the actual book. Secondary main character of "Dreamer" and a powerful entity stripped of his original rank. This one shot goes through his thoughts as he's trapped in the Nightmare Realm. 200 words.

Quick crack about my OC Zinthia from After School Guardians meeting her original concept who was made by me as a young, cringey child. 994 words.

✎ The Storm Called Death

Vivien from The Frost Prince's Paramour? feeling cold and angry for 195 words. This is only significant because there's a curse on him that causes him to always be cold and will eventually freeze him to death. The only thing that can stave it off is human contact but his family want him to die so he's forbidden from being touched. Otherwise, this is just him having a pity party.

I really wanted to share the newer piece a wrote for this WIP (A Pane-ful Scene) because I love it so much but I think I should keep it in my pocket cuz I might actually use it.

✎ Poor, poor, Mayor Mendler

High key fanfiction of A's Academy For Gifted Girls set post story. It's basically that one prompt about the hero and villain's rivalry being a prank on their brother the mayor except these guys are girls. 1360 words.

✎ Horology

730 words. Father Time stops time because he's disgusted with mortals but the birth and commands of some entities born outside his reach scares him into letting the timestream flow once again. Based off of a line I wrote for a companion piece song to Nighttime Live!

I thought I'd so something fun and peel back the curtain on my creative writing process of how I go about choosing names.

Like a lot of authors I find inspiration on baby naming websites, fantasy name generators, names I've heard in passing or from other media.

Moira

Origins: Irish and Greek

Meaning: Beloved, Rebellious, Fate, Destiny

Where did I get it from?

Growing up I was obsessed with all things Peter Pan: the Disney animated movies, both the original and sequel, the musical, live action, and Hook. Wendy Darling's full name is Wendy Moira Angela Darling and her granddaughter in Hook, who falls in love with and marries Peter Pan, is named Moira.

Why I chose it?

I love the way Moira rolls of the tongue and the soft/gentle/lyrical way it sounds. When I first had the idea of creating a story that later evolved into the Hiraeth Song series, Moira's name immediately popped into my mind almost as if she'd named herself. Her appearance came shortly after.
