How Micheal Arnold Cornelius got his name:
Tumblr media
I met my son when I was eight years old, and around that age I had a thing for alliteration. We already had a dog with a name beginning with M, and before I even knew I was getting a dog of my own I said these exact words: “Wouldn’t it be funny if we had another dog with an M name? Like… Micheal?” So that was that. As for Arnold, I’d recently been watching The Magic School Bus, and Arnold was a great character. To explain Cornelius, you have to understand that I was fascinated with acronyms at that age, and I wanted Micheal’s name to be an acronym. If you put the three letters of his names together, you get Mac, so really that’s his fourth name. Cornelius was just a C name that I liked and decided to settle on. The mind of an eight year old, everyone 😂.

OK SO, I found this really interesting reddit thread talking about ghostmaker!!! So, ghostmaker is from/operates in Singapore, but apparently, almost nothing about him makes sense to be Singaporean, which I kinda knew but not in detail. (People were pointing out how hot his suit would be, which I thought was funny)
His name in particular is odd bcuz all three parts of it essentially come from different origins. "Minh" is Vietnamese, "khoa" is apparently Chinese, and "Khan" is Mongolian but also exists in some parts of the Middle East and what-not.
After some quick googling for myself, I've found that apparently "khoa" can be Vietnamese also, so that's interesting if true. I've also seen a couple of places say that "minhkhoa" is a Singaporean name, which the reddit thread seems to disagree with. Also, evidently, "khoa" is used as a last name, too. I have no idea if that's more or less common than usage in a first name.
So "khan" is of Mongolian origin, but according to Wikipedia, is most commonly found today among Muslims in South Asia, with the countries with the highest usage of this name being India, Pakistan Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Iran.
From all of this, it's very likely that minhkhoa has some sort of multicultural origin, I could speculate that one of his parents is likely Vietnamese, but we really have no clue.
By my best guess, his name would be written like: 汗明科??
I would love opinions/more knowledge on this because I just did my best with my limited tools and knowledge, and I basically know fuckall.

It’s one fucking in the morning, I’m finishing reading “all the young dudes”, and the only FUCKING thing I can think about is how nico di Angelo’s name has a MOTHERFUCKING GRAMMAR MISTAKE IN IT
It’s not even REALLY a mistake it’s more like an IMPRECISION and it’s FUCKING KILLING ME and I have lost my ability to english but bear with me
When two vowels near each other from other words, one disappears and there’s a fucking apostrophe ik this to be true in French and Italian idk in other languages
Like in French you don’t say “je me appelle” you say “je m’appelle”
So it’s NICO D’ANGELO not DI ANGELO like I get it it’s a fucking name but for fucks sake plz
AND D’ANGELO (di Angelo fuck it) IS A FUCKING LAST NAME FROM THE SOUTH NICO IS FROM VENICE WHICH IS FROM THE NORTH
Yeah sure people move his mom could be originally from the south but UGH PLEASE

Hey, uh real quick. This femboy wants to know why you're named this? I find it extremely hilarious and just am dying to know
Tumblr media
It all starts back when the at the time new Xbox 360 was released. The black one that fixed the red ring of death issues the launch 360 shipped with. I would have been in my super early teens at the time and I needed a what they called gamer tag for my new Xbox live account that I was making to use with the new 360. While I can't remember the first handful of names I tried but were already taken I finally landed on the one that was not in use. Now at the time I was kinda still finding the type of music I was going to base my entire teenage persona around and at that moment I was heavily getting into Billy Joel. Of course "we didn't start the fire" was one of the few songs I was introduced to him through and I really liked the line "JFK blown away." Over the many years of using it though I stopped caring about it being related to Billy Joel.
So technically it's a Billy Joel reference, but I no longer treat it as one.

I’m the one who asked about the name origins lol. It was a bit of a weird question to ask, and I may have worded it strangely☠️ I just meant what languages their names were derived from :)
Uhh...I'll try my best to answer this XD Please keep in mind: Not all names represent the person's ethnicity or race.
Zeus: Both male and female names come from Irish. I only just found out that the female name (though pronounced differently) is apparently the Old Irish name that the male name derived from XD
Hermes: The male name seems to come from French and German origins while the female name has a lot of origins (though it seems to be Slavic due to how its derived from a feminine form of a Slavic name)
Dionysus: Hebrew, though the female vers is the French version of the Hebrew name (Dionysus's male name).
Ares: The male name is from Hebrew as well - though the female name is possibly Welsh or Proto-Celtic? 🤷🏻‍♀️Your guess is as good as mine, anon.
Dolos: Male name comes from Greek (fucking ironic XD) while the female name is the French vers of the male name (French be out here literally taking names XD)
Hope this answers your question, anon! Thank you for the ask!

Silly Rex HC:
Rex got his name because he was made king on a planet by some indigenous people after he killed a creature that had been assaulting the clan for a long time.
He had no clue what the people were saying they just chanted Rex over and over. He doesn't know he was made king. It's not until he meets Anakin and tells Anakin the story of how he got his name and asks why the general is laughing. Anakin tells him what 'Rex' means and he's mortified for many reasons.
He never tells his name origins again.

Oh wow! My previous lil video post blew up! (Well, for one of my posts at least). And I saw a few people saying they like the name Citrus for one of my lil Mer dudes in Guppy Love.
So tada! Not a merboy, obviously, but the fish I based his scale coloration on: the Mandarin Dragonet.
I have to give credit to @meetthetank , @dragonfuckerllc and @kilouekas-photos for helping me find these lil dudes. I was looking for a tropical fish with ultramarine blue in them, and they certainly delivered!
Aren’t they so pretty??? >^<
Aaaaand have to thank my roommate for the name. It’a way better than my stand in name “Steffan” after Steffan Argus (I like his songs Ship in a Bottle and Abandon Ship) Not that it’s a bad name, but I like Citrus more. Plus it’s right there in the species: Mandarin Dragonet.

Azula's name true origin
Tumblr media
The Spanish for “blue,” azul, is originally an Arabic word referring to a particular type of valuable blue stone, the lapis lazuli. In Spanish, the word degraded over time, and the l- was lost (as though it was the the french l’ for “the”) and we were just left with azul for just “blue.” [☆]
Azula's name is one the most beautiful things in the world. 🥺

A lot of people irl don't know the origin of my name, and it's kinda funny. I've been a part of the fnaf community ever since the game came out after a friend I had at the time introduced me to it. For those a bit newer to the fandom, before William Afton's name was confirmed, everyone just called him Vincent. I remember very clearly just lying awake one night 2 years ago because i wasn't feeling the name that i used for myself at the time, and all of a sudden, i remembered Vincent the ourple man, and just decided to take that name. I fucking named myself after the purple stabby man, and I haven't regretted it for even a SINGLE moment.
