😞 DISAPPOINTED FACE — does your oc attract others, or do they tend to be left alone?

Bella does have a habit of attracting others, albeit not always intentionally. In the real world, being weak and pathetic attracts the attention of Joey Drew and lands her in a fine mess. But once she's in the cycle? It makes her easy pickings for the monsters lurking everywhere. At first this is what gets Sammy and Jack to take her in, knowing she won't survive on her own and feeling guilty about past actions, but it doesn't remain as her defining trait, or the reason they stick together. The longer she spends in the cycle, the more she grows confident and pushes to help the people turned monsters. Her kindness attracts many to seek her out for help, and her fiery rage keeps others away. Sometimes she is very volatile and turns everyone away, which is a lot of how things are by the time of Dark Revival, especially when interacting with Richard and Audrey, but she eventually finds her cool again.

Alternative Season 2 Episode 3: "The New Neighbor"

Pleasantview, early 1994

After several years away from Pleasantview, Cassandra and Don decide to come back for a visit to see Mortimer and Bella, and also so little Adam and Ella can see a new place.

Outskirts of the Goth mansion

Adam (a little bored): Why did we come to Pleasantview, Mommy?

Cassandra: Honey, we came to see the grandparents! They want to see you!

Ella: Will we also see Angela?

Don: Of course Ellie!

At that moment Mortimer and Bella left the mansion to greet their daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren.

Mortimer and Bella (Waving to their grandchildren): Hey kids!!

Adam and Ella (Running to her grandparents): Hi grandpa, hi grandma!!

Cassandra (Waving to her parents): Hello dad, hello mother, how are you?

When she said the last, Mortimer and Bella got too serious.

Bella (as she got up): Cassandra, you know VERY well that talking about Belladonna Cove and "you know who" is strictly FORBIDDEN in this house.... Respect your brother's memory please...!

Cassandra: I know mother... But, Timothy is a good person, I swear! I'll invite him to dinner tomorrow, so you can get to know him well...

Mortimer (while lowering his voice): And what are you going to do with Don and the children...

I don't think I've ever gone back and changed an art piece months after making it, but there's a first time for everything! Decided to follow my heart and gave her new ears, we're committing to the sheep thing. And with that came the thought, I haven't ever like, given her a formal bio on here, so you're getting two for one today! So let's dive into the Depths and give you a taste of who exactly this is.

Synopsis:

Like so many that came before her, Bella is the latest victim of Joey Drew. Taken under his wing after an unfortunate accident in 1963, she's the first domino to fall in a new plan to revive the legacy of Joey Drew Studios. After accidentally getting locked in the cycle and sacrificed to the ink demon, Bella finds herself as a lowly searcher, accompanying a newly aware Sammy Lawrence and Jack Fain in a desperate attempt to break out of the ink realm. While working together as the ink demon's Shepherds, the group discovers things may not be as set in stone as they seemed, and there might just be some hope of ending this nightmare. As she works through the hellish landscape of the studio (and the loss of hope that comes with it), her first adventure has her evolving, both physically and mentally, to find herself and determine what kind of person she wants to be.

When Wilson gains control over the cycle, Bella finds herself imprisoned with the rest of her fellow Cyclebreakers, assigned the subject number of 214. Desperate to bust her newfound family out and uncover more of the ink's secrets, she reluctantly teams up with Richard, a crudely nicknamed Keeper hellbent on creating a perfect world. While they're at odds to start, the two learn there's more to the other than meets the eye, and sometimes allies can come from the most unlikely of places.

A made up fic title for you!

"I'll Hold Your Hand Through the Storm"

Ooooh, Luna this is such a fun one, thank you! I'd be tempted to do this one with the trope of a character who has never seen rain before. Like, you know that episode of Steven Universe where Peridot thinks the world is ending because of a thunderstorm? Kinda that vibe. I can see a lot of potential for a brotherly Sonic and Tails fic through this lens, since Tails is afraid of thunder storms in some iterations. I could also see it being great for a Kingdom Hearts fic, maybe something with Aqua and Terra taking care of Ventus?

However, I think I'd most enjoy applying this to nutcracker stuff or Bendy, which is very OC based, but hear me out. Nutcracker stuff I don't have a solid idea on, but I think it'd be good for a story with Auran and Loraine or Manny and Phil, something that takes on that caretaker vibe of helping someone through a rough time, maybe with a snowstorm. Could be a great fix for Auran getting his winter magic under control with a snowstorm.

For Bendy, I think this would be a Bella and Richard fic. Richard as a Keeper has no concept of what rain is, and he's also a character with three hands, so he comes to mind. I'd love for him and Bella to have escaped the cycle, maybe they've got some human disguises on and are out on an errand to get something (probably science related, bur it could be for fun too), and it starts raining. Bella is used to rain, she's navigated NYC in the rain hundreds of times, but it never occurs to her that Richard hasn't, and he's not doing well with this thunderstorm. So they hide out somewhere, waiting for it to pass, but it just gets worse, and at a certain point, they're lost. Visibility is low, it's hard to see where to go. It's one of the few times where he is vulnerable and scared, and she's left to comfort him and help him through it, much like Sammy did when she first fell into the cycle. She is holding his hand both literally and figuratively as they go and explore this strange human world. Even though she knows what human life is like, it's the 1970s now, it's not the same as the world she knew, and it's new and scary for both of them, they need each other through it. Eventually they manage to find their way home, and they dry off, enjoying some time snuggled up by the fire with some hot cocoa and brownies or something, and everything is okay. They weathered the storm together and made it through.
