@marcusrashford is known by millions because of his football career, however he is more then just footballer. During the peak of the Covid Pandemic, Rashford campaigned to get the government to do more for low income families during covid as he knew that many families would struggle to feed their children. Something has was happening way before Covid and he had had first hand experience of this. The government provided families in need with food vouchers during the summer holidays. Rashford continued to campaign for the government to do more and support these same families more and extend during all school holidays. The government rejected this. Rashford continued to fight and has since has helped raise over 20million for charities and got amazing support by the public and food brands, but he is not finished yet. Rashford has made it clear that he wants to help #endchildfoodpoverty and will continue to use his platform to do this in any way he can. He has helped petition for the healthy start vouchers amount to be increased. Rashford has since received an MBE for his work. #blackhistorymonth #makinghistory #rashford #marcusrashfood #endchildfoodpoverty #charity #blackpeoplemakinghistorymonth #football #manchesterunited #england #uk #freeschoolmeals #childpoverty #london #blackandproud #blackhistorymonthuk #beingblack #manutd #procreate #portrait #illustration #artbyme https://www.instagram.com/p/Cj-vGQ1I8cg/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Today marks the last 5 days of Black History Month here in the UK and if I am honest – I am disappointed. I am not just disappointed by it being overshadowed by blackfishers dominating the news endorsed by a certain black celebrity, gaining clout and many people who act like ‘allies’ saying that the month should be scrapped rather than celebrating the amazing black people in their life… no, I am honestly disappointed by the sheer fact that even after all these years – black history only has amounted to ‘slavery’. For me yeah slavery has a part to do with showing our power, our resilience, our strength when we unite BUT black history is more than that. It’s the women who started the ‘me too’ movement, it’s the celebration of the black excellence that we do not see in mainstream media, it’s the beautiful creative and amazing blueprint we have given the world countlessly and receive no accolades for. It’s the celebration of the black creatives on TikTok taking a stand or just the celebration of black joy! Anyway enough of my ramblings. Black History Month has nothing to do with slavery and EVERYTHING to do with black people, black joy, black excellence, black everything! This is not a political issue, it a human issue because as I always say, until we are seen as humans – starting with how we see each other, how we respect each other and how we celebrate each other. There is so much more to unite us than there is to separate us – whether we are British, American, Caribbean, African, European – being black is NOT monolith. P.S. – Slavery is white history, not Black History. It was rebranded very well but it is not a reflection on us, but a reflection on the colonisers. #isaidwhatisaid How has Black History Month 2021 been for you? The people in Middle Age Europe knew about Musa; he was included on the Triple A list of their day. . What I find interesting about this great King, is that, unlike our modern day money makers, he was more interested in bettering his culture with that wealth than simply hanging on to it. . He may not have made trillionaire like some people, but bettering a culture with $415 billion aint half bad. .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ #blackhistory #blackhistory365 #blackhistorymonthart #blackandproud #blackhistorymonthprogram #blacklove #blackhistorymonthuk #art #black #blackhistorymonth2021 #bhm2020 #africanamerican #melanin #melanated #blackhistorymonthnails #black365 #blackhistorymonthmakeup #blackgirlmagic #bhm #love #blackculture #blackhistorymonth6 #blackexcellence #blackhistorymonth9 #blackhistorymonth2020 #blackhistorymonth✊🏾 #blackhistorymonth2019 #blackhistorymonthiseveryday #blackhistorymonthmemes #blackhistorymonthedition (at Westborough, Massachusetts) https://www.instagram.com/p/CK1_NEaAisr/?igshid=14q5djqh8k97w

Been AWOL for the past few weeks due to some personal issues but here’s to the face of Resilience, Rebirth and Restoration. As I stand celebrating the end of Black History Month U.K., I am reminded that everyone deserves the right to be proud of who they are and what they want to be in life. For me, that starts with a little affirmation which goes a long way to reignite our purpose and show the vast richness of diversity that people like myself (Black and Brown people) bring to the UK. So I Proudly Affirm to YOU: Be Strong Be Kind Be Free Be unapologetically YOU Embrace YOUR imperfections Stand up for YOURSELF Do things that make YOU Proud of YOURSELF Be true-true to YOURSELF and true to YOUR morals Believe in YOURSELF and believe in YOUR journey Never let anything stand in the way of the PERSON YOU are Becoming And most importantly, celebrate YOUR every success, learn from failure and acknowledge who YOU are Proud to BE. Happy Black History Month Beloveds 🖤 and here’s to celebrating being able to live life to the fullest without having to compromise who we are as Black People and dropping YOUR weekly motivational dose 🥰💃🏽🥰 Follow @therenaissancelady for more updates and do LIKE, SAVE, SHARE & COMMENT as The Renaissance Journey continues ... #BlackHistoryMonth #Affirmations #BlackBritain #BlackHistoryMonthUK #AffirmYourself #ProudToBe #SpeakUpSpeakOut #GoalGetter #Empowerment #Creativity #BlackExcellence #BlackGirlMagic #UnapologeticallyMe #InfluencerLifestyle #IntentionalLiving #LivePurposefully #BeInspired #LifestyleArchitect #Lifestyle #ContentCreator #BloggerSoc #BlackCreators #BlackInfluencers #Influencers #LifestyleBlogger #BrownGirlBloggers #BlackBloggersClub #MelaninBloggers #BlackBritishBloggers #TheRenaissanceLady (at London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CVtrnwzoHch/?utm_medium=tumblr

Reposted from @blackwall.st RP @blackhistorystudies - Vertus Wellborn Hardiman was the victim of an unethical secret U.S government radiation experiment in 1928. Hardiman was born on March 9, 1922 in Lyles Station, Ind., known as one of the earliest Negro settlements in the United States. When Hardiman was five years old, he was one of nine children that took part in a terrifying medical experiment, where he and other children were severely irradiated during a medical experiment conducted at the local county hospital. To get parental consent the experiment was misrepresented as a new therapy for the scalp fungus known as ringworm. The radiation of the skull led to immediate symptoms but also to a severe progressive necrosis of the bone all through his life. At the time, many human radiation experiments were conducted on African Americans and were funded by the United States Department of Defense and United States Atomic Energy Commission. Experiments included feeding radioactive food to disabled children, inserting radium rods into school children and injecting pregnant women and babies with radioactive chemicals. The studies were classified until 1986, when they were released in the report entitled “America Nuclear Guinea Pigs: Three Decades of Radiation Experiments.” The treatment on Hardiman’s skull left him with progressive necrosis of the scalp throughout the rest of his life. These types of experiments led to distrust of the medical community among African Americans that lingers on today. #knowthyself #blackhistory #blackhistorymonth #blackhistorymonthuk #bhm2021 #blackhistorymatters #africanhistory #africanhistorymatters #celebratingblackhistorymonth #blackhistorymonth2021 #blackhistorymonthiseverymonth #blackhistoryyoudidntlearninschool #blackhistoryeveryday #VertusWellbornHardiman https://www.instagram.com/p/CU-dULaLKg0Q4eRVoiKHTEO8RASotzJKHGsOqU0/?utm_medium=tumblr

How often is it to overlook our innate connection with spirit? We busy ourselves trying to find 'it' in the most obscure places when it's always been with us. Much like the air we breathe, it is ever pervasive and always in communication with us. Why we fail to notice these messages presented to us via symbolisms and signs is because we haven't had the opportunity to train our minds to perceive them nor our eyes to notice them, but we can make up for what was denied us due to social and institutional conditioning. It is why we are offering during the month of October, 'Black History Month' in the UK, 40% off ALL our courses to provide the opportunity to learn what we didn't get a chance to in our infancy. Are you willing to learn the one aspect of African culture and traditions that still remains obscure due to inadequate information in the mainstream? Then start here: www.bhm.ancestralvoices.co.uk #opportunity #offer #during #infancy #notice #social #socialmediamarketing #month #october #culture #blackhistorymonthuk #blackhistorymonth #thank #thankyou https://www.instagram.com/p/B3IhwCKnxBT/?igshid=6hixhvagwmyb

How beautiful is this cover?
This is another book that I want to try and get through this month. It sounds glorious. We’re so used to the same old folktales and mythology that I can’t wait to dig into these. I’m not all for modernising old stories especially when they’re not the normal European stuff. I can’t wait.
