Imma get serious heat for this, but at the same time, I'm about to make a point that'll make others even more heated.

Found families are a magnificent trope, when you gather a group of strangers together and live with one another as a family. But the problem with that is claims of absurd bs like incest.

If the papers haven't been made, let others ship characters of a reasonable age gap who are part of said family, but DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE GO OUT AND DECLARE IT INCEST!!

Me and my buddies are trying to have fun with the Ahsoka series cuz we're also massive Sabezra shippers, but if y'all are one of those people who wants to claim certain characters as incestuous, you've got a fucked up mindset and in desperate need of a reality check.

Friendly reminder to gently introduce your plushies into the pack gently. Start by diving them with a door and allowing eachother to smell, or if you have a glass door, see eachother. Make sure to be within the vicinity just in case anything happens, as not all plushies are as friendly as others. If the alpha senses a disturbance in the hierarchy of the pack they may become aggressive towards the new plushie, so make sure the alpha meets them first. Different plushies have different ways of showing respect or submission, if you need to translate for your alpha plush make sure to be there until they're accommodated.

Of course, if you have a plushie of a media, always have a buddy if you can. I recently received my Oliver Swift plushie and my already owned and adapted Randy Jade plushie accommodated him in the bathroom while we allowed Meowth (the alpha of the pack) to sniff him. Thankfully it was smoothe and Oliver was approved easily, but I know that's not always the case. Bowlingball (a blue creature plushie) had a bit of a rough time accommodating, often getting into fights with Jesus (my dog plushie). Luckily Meowth could calm the tide, but that goes to show how comparability is very important when deciding which plushies to adopt and where to place them (if you have multiples packs in one home.)

Another thing is when plushies are getting accommodated, allow them to sleep in the bed. A simple bonding method that is quite effective. If your new plushie has already bonded to another plushie like my Randy and Oliver, make sure to have their partner with them as well. Bonded plushies tend to have separation anxiety with their partner, so make sure to keep them together for long amounts of time. Of course, you must have one on one bonding but most of their time should be spent among other plushies. Plushies are long term companions and adoption is a life changing experience for the both of you, and all your plushies, so being careful and responsible when adopting does matter. Always be educated, wether it be at food, housing, likes, social habits, your plushies must me priority is a plushie parent.

so theres a lot of posts going round about the titanic wreck and the missing submarines; all of them that ive seen have made very good points about how shoddy the submersible seemed to be and how the company decided to wait eight hours before reporting it, and how this is a play stupid games, win stupid prizes for the ultra-wealthy who paid like 250grand a ticket for this thing.

but what i havent seen any posts about is how the titanic wreck is a gravesite and this tourism is disturbing the graves of over 1500 people.

sometimes its kinda hard to remember that those on the titanic were real people; it was over a century ago, the story has been romanticised in so many ways (like the movie), theres conspiracies theories galore that cloud everything with misinformation, but at the end of the day, those who died were real people.

do you want their names? heres a list of them; its a long read. and for fun, heres another site where you can see photos of the children and babies who died aboard.

their bodies are long gone and their lives long forgotten. all we have to remember them and honour them is the wreck itself. its all we have of them and it is their gravesite. its their tombstone.

caitlin doughty/ask a morticians video on the great lakes discusses the topic well, and why we should leave these shipwrecks alone because again, they are the gravesites of all the souls who died aboard those ships. we rarely have bodies to recover so we really are left just with the wreck.

and what really upsets me about titanic tourism is how the majority of those who died that night were not the ultra-wealthy rich folks you might picture when you think of ocean liners.

the majority of those who died that night were regular folk; not to be cliche, but they were just like us. titanics wreck is not only a gravesite for over 1500 people, its also a majority working class gravesite.

and look at us now. look at what were doing. the ultra-wealthy can pay the equivalent of peanuts to them to disturb a mass gravesite of the exact kind of people they exploit today to hold onto all their wealth. 

its easy to point and laugh at these dumb idiots in their playstation controller submarine, seemingly held together with super glue and duct tape, but its also important to remember that what they were doing was simply disturbing a gravesite for fun. though the company does research, these guys werent down there to conduct research, they were there so they could brag about it to their friends. its like “climbing mount everest” while your sherpa does all the work.

if you cant tell, i have a lot of feelings about this. shipwrecks and ocean liners are one of my special interests and im currently building a (beginner’s) model of the titanic, for fucks sake. but i would never go down to see that wreck because its a fucking gravesite and we should not be disturbing their final resting place.

genuinely can't stop thinking about the idea of riz taking fabian's rage token and damaging his relationship with his mom. because he's taking on more stress for his friends and we've seen that sklonda doesn't like that and like. riz loves his mom, obviously. he loves her very much! but he knows that his friends are trying now and i don't see it being an explosion, necessarily, but still an argument because they disagree on this.

and that aside, i think it makes a lot of sense just in general for riz to have disadvantage on checks against sklonda because sure, this is kind of the way their dynamic has been! but i also think that if riz ended up with a rage token, sklonda would probably be harder to convince of various things (deception/persuasion) and harder to read as well given how stressed riz is.

and honestly, i just think it'd be narratively fun and juicy

Bhaalist Unholy Communion

This post has been living in my brain rent free and then it hit me in just the right headspace to turn into a vent thing and made me write poetry for the first time since eight grade anyway enjoy my ramblings under cut

because isn't it fucked up that Durge has no bodily autonomy? That he's nothing (using he/him because im looking at my Durge specifically) without Bhaal because not even his own body is his own but still a part of Bhaal?

And sure it is an honor to be Bhaal's Chosen, but is it really if you never got the chance to choose yourself? Strike, my Durge, was born a Bhaalspawn and grew up in the cult since he was eight. It's all he's ever known, he's worshiped for being a demi-god, he's powerful and on top, and in the end, literally everything he has is only because his Father lets him have it.

The Communion especially shows that, with Strike being still worshiped, but it hurts him, the Bhaalists rip his body apart, use it, consume it, and he needs to think of it as a blessing because how lucky is he, to be the soul that was loaned piece of a god to guard? He'd think of his own body like that.

And it hurts Bhaalists, too! It works both ways! His blood is poisonous and his flesh aches in their throats, but it's a blessing! God of Murder loves his son and his love hurts, and if you love him back, you must let yourself be hurt and know how lucky you are to be allowed to be hurt by Bhaal or his mortal flesh itself!

I'm just very into the whole 'no bodily autonomy' thing that we have going on with Durge, like his father not only can take control of his body via the Urge, but he has Sceleritas to guide him away from anything that could be not by Bhaal's books, Orin and Saverok to be a (although messed up as hell) family to him so he'll never look for another, and to some degree, Bhaal can control Durge's mind...

No wonder he'd run to Gortash in the end. The first one who sees more than a Bhaalspawn when he looks at Strike, more than Bhaal's scion, he sees a person and ngl it's totally Bhaal's fault that Strike ended up like that
