#can't believe they're actually doing a spinoff

What's your favourite Resident Evil creature design? Mine is Lisa.
I reviewed almost each and every one in the canon for one Halloween marathon but digging through them to figure out my top favorites probably would take time so my top ones are:
Tumblr media
Ivy: absolutely flawless and iconic design, can't believe they scrapped it in the remake. The simple three petals replacing the entire head of a crude humanoid is a beautiful haunting look. I love that you know it's going to do something unpleasant when you notice it has NO fangs or claws, and indeed when it catches you it just swallows your head, and then it STEAMS because it's that acidic and your headless body crumples to the ground. Hilarious.
Tumblr media
NAUTILUS: an obscure one, only two of them exist in the sewers of one of the spinoff games and are implied to be a failed experiment that got flushed. In any setting with genetic engineering I always want to see the messed up errors that are barely recognizable. It's hard to even find clear images of Nautilus but it seems to be a big living womb that spits out swimming, exploding embryos. It also has little appendages on it like a roast turkey. Adorably abnormal.
Tumblr media
DRAGHIGNAZZO: actually two creatures stuck together who are made out of mutated barnacles, with two different heads that dangle off the back. Visually it's such a confusing design and so difficult to follow, which is clearly intentional. When I finally figured out its anatomy, I drew a quick little cartoon explanation:
Tumblr media
They stick together with the left one's big arm dangling! And they have those big "breathing holes" on their "necks" that seem to represent a bivalve siphon. There's some distinct aspects of geoduck in their design, too.
Tumblr media
CHIMERA: a top favorite from the very first game. They seem brundlefly-inspired, but maybe with spider in there originally (later games explicitly called them flies), and so messed up that the original design features a mouth in their chests. I love that they appear in only a single laboratory hallway near the end of the game and aren't even an especially threatening encounter. They just threw in this extra little weirdo to show you how far the experiments were going, and to maybe shake things up last-minute with one last new enemy you don't see coming.
Tumblr media
GLOBSTER: I love the globster "phenomenon" in "cryptozoology," even if they're never anything but dead whales and sharks. The idea of a weird blob washing ashore and freaking people out is just really fun, so then Resident Evil Revelations 2 opens with a beach full of unidentifiable lumps and when you get too close they show they have a big old goofy mouth! They're so ghastly and so cute, just big sleepy lazy piles with silly teeth! Oh and yeah they used to be people or something I guess that's pretty messed up.

Children's media can absolutely and does radicalize kids when written correctly,it's just that shitty bigoted adults in fandoms deliberately misenterpret their messages and trick them into believing they're canon and that's how we got here.Bleach had Ichigo be a goth punk dude who's a fantastic older brother and choose his female love interest because she's his best friend and he finds her weirdgirlness to be enchanting which is good rep for us because being punk is about nonconformity and so is the fact that he never joined the military system his species was largely a part of because he didn't give two shits about them but over half the fandom is convinced the mangaka is a 'sellout' and 'pandering' for not making him essentially a paranormal cop for the sake of pairing him up with the fem mc that he has a familial and queerplatonic relathionship with as confirmed by the aformentioned mangaka
Pjo had Percy hate the gods as much as Luke does and act on it too but directly TO them instead of grooming younger halfbloods to work for him as soldiers and in fact he basically adopted every one of them he came across as his siblings and pseudo-kids and this is explicitly framed as why he's a hero and Luke's evil but you see nonstop erasure of his anti-corruption and anti-authority mentality and direct action despite being his core character traits to make him more palpable as an 'average fantasy protagonist' when the point of him is that he's not normal in any way
The Owl House had 3/5 of it's mcs be poc with the two white ones being an autistic and ocd lesbian and the other a disabled boy with zero conventionally physical traits that're never made out to be ugly and the protag is an inmigrant afrolatina girl while the big villain is a puritan colonizer and every single ship on the show is queer including the m/f one and the token white boy has almost all the important characters to his arc being black and the only one who isn't is a fat asian girl who's also disabled but the HUGE amount of positive rep in the show is deliberately taken out of context for bad faith critisism by a bunch of 20/30/even 40 year olds who've never written actual good stories themselves and this includes them adoring and gushing over the colonizer guy while dismissing the poc and women in the cast as irrelevant
Across the Spiderverse had an EXTREMELY black in every way character literally named SpiderPUNK who makes his beliefs clear in every single one of his lines and isn't all talk for a single second but he's reduced down to 'annoying edgy older brother figure' and made to listen to Taylor Swift and go to Hot Topic and called 'obviously a skater boy' and every other poser punk trope in the books
Atla had Aang and Katara be a gnc boy of a lesser known type of asian race and Katara a brownskin native girl that reclaims femininity for herself with their character drives being to save the world with Zuko's arc hammering it in again and again that while he always had good in him,he WAS evil,he DOES have a lot of bad traits and that made him do a lot of bad things and THAT'S why he needed a redemption arc to be a hero but Aang gets called racist for following the buddhist belief that in-universe he was sole remaining follower of that killing humans is bad,Katara gets adultified and stripped of her actual personality to make her just 'hashtag relatable teen gurl' and Zuko gets infantalized and upholded as the least problematic character in the whole show
And my last and not quite like the rest example is Harry Potter, including the spinoffs and fanon.Everything in it is neoliberal bs and the fandom just made it worse-Oh,the house that's a metaphor for fascism and white supremacy legacies? They're just misunderstood little babies and every minority-coded🥺The lower class family who canonically were Jkr's best attempt at good people that still flopped?Awful homophobic bastards😡All the female characters?Perfect slay 'You can't sit with us' girlboss, precious little baby angel who can't tie her shoes without her reverse harem's help or manipulative self-obsessed hyperfemme pick me,those are the only three categories they can ever fall in.Marauder's Era not only existing but being very,VERY popular is nothing but whiteness-What is there for you to be attached to there exactly? With the canon cast i can least see why you'd have nostalgia but M Era is literally nothing. You just CHOOSE to pick a franchise that's violently bigoted towards basically everyone and who's creator actively influences and helps caused that hurt irl oppressed groups instead of making ocs since you're already building them from scratch anyway
It's not the fault of actual good creators and especially not kids in fandom that grown ass bootlickers couldn't accept that their precious 'escapist comfort media' isn't apolitical at all instead of absorving it's messages like they should have since they have no care for other people despite insisting how kind and unproblematic they are

Random Starbula Headcanons
Nebula is super touch-starved and has a very sensitive body. Peter quickly gets into the habit of giving her shoulder rubs and casually caressing her arms and legs when they're sitting together.
Peter gets lost in Nebula's eyes frequently. Nebs loves the dopey, lovestruck expression he gets when this happens.
Peter confesses first despite Nebula having feelings for longer. When he does, she's floored because she assumed he would never reciprocate.
Nebula kisses him first however.
Peter is a tea drinker and Nebula is a coffee drinker.
For date nights, Peter and Nebula sometimes watch movies and shows from Peter's childhood. This leads to them binge-watching all of Cheers. They also end up watching its (better) spinoff, Frasier, which Peter can't believe even exists when he discovers it.
Nebula doesn't really do pet names but over time she begins calling him Star-Lord when she's being flirty (she continues to call him that when she's mad at him too though xD)
Peter isn't much of a pet name person either but that doesn't mean he never uses them. His favorite things to call her are "sweetheart", "hon/honey", and "blueberry". Nebula acts like she hates all of these but they actually make her feel so loved.
Nebula can paint pretty well (stealing this headcanon from the video game xD) and offers to teach Peter how to improve his art after seeing his doodle in Volume 3. Peter isn't that interested but you fucking bet that after learning about her talent he'd get her to draw him.
Nebula prefers dressing in a masc way but Peter helps her feel comfortable wearing more feminine clothes and dresses. He thinks she's hot no matter what she wears though.
Peter's grandpa likes to team up with Nebula to roast Peter. He pretends that it bugs him but is just happy that his girlfriend and his grandfather get along so well.
Mantis plays up the overprotective sister act around them sometimes (jokingly telling them to be home by curfew when they go on dates, threatening to murder Nebula if she hurts Peter, etc.)
The sound of Peter's laugh makes Nebula's knees go weak. Especially when she's the one who made him laugh.
Peter loves public displays of affection while Nebula is shy about them. I adore the idea of Peter being super affectionate to her in public and Nebula wants to maintain her stoic reputation so she gets flustered. Her automatic response is to say something bitchy when he does this but actually enjoys the affection and loves that Peter is so open to showing off that she's his girlfriend.
Nebula still bridal carries Peter sometimes. Only now it's not because he's wasted; it's just because he enjoys it and she's happy to do it.

Frankly, I've always found it strange, myself included, why Levi never mentions Isabel and Farlan. For example we don't even see them in the flashbacks where he remembers his comrades. But if I had to think of the most logical reason I could think of, it's more likely that it's because they're not characters of Yams own creation. No Regrets is a script that Yams commissioned someone else to write for the Levi background, a spinoff that was not written by Isayama himself, and the characters there are not Yams characters, except for Levi and Yams characters.
In one of the interviews I read about No regrets, I read that Isayama wanted this story to be written/drawn because he wanted a spinoff that was more about how Levi joined Survey corps. That's exactly what it is, if I remember what was written correctly. Maybe you've seen it too. My point is this, Perhaps the reason Isayama never mentions Farlan and Isabel in his own story is because they are not his characters, but also because both Farlan and Isabel and No Regrets itself, are more of background tools on how Levi joined Sc.
Hi! How are you?
Yeah, I think that's a very possible and logical answer. I would 100% believe that would be the reason if other characters were mentioned more frequently. I would be like, "Why does Levi constantly talk or think in this or that character and not Farlan and Isabel?" But overall, I still kinda stick to my idea that we hardly even see any other "remarkable" characters as "flashbacks" from the veterans, and we never hear even Levi mention them. Not just Levi; almost all the characters do not mention other characters overall.
I dare to say that's mostly an "economical" situation. Probably Isayama wasn't allowed to have any extra scenes or do "fill up" chapters to showcase other characters talking about their lives, their thoughts, etc. Like, as an example, I can't recall a single chapter in the manga or anime where Erwin talks about Mike, for example, and it's well-known that they were very close. Hange is the same. I hardly think that Levi or anyone actually actively thinks or mentions other characters in the story unless it's an "emotional or plot-wise" moment, like recalling fallen comrades, like Marco, etc.
I think that was mostly my point of view on the issue. Levi doesn't think about Farlan or Isabel, but because Levi or any other SNK character thinks or mentions other characters beside strict plot-wise necessity, and it's obvious that Farlan and Isabel aren't "plot-wise" necessities. I personally think that most of the "relationships" between characters can be "assumed" by how they interact in "spin-offs" like chibis and "junior high." I think they serve a bit to fill up that void with also the "game's extras stories etc."
Which, and this is already me rambling, I had always found it strange that it's showcased in official art, chibis, junior high, etc., that the veterans were rather close, but during the Uprising Arc, Levi mentions Kenny to Hange and they knew absolutely nothing about him. I think it would have been a nice touch, not only for Hange but for any "veteran," if Levi decided to be "100% honest" about his childhood, like telling being raised by Kenny, they could act like, "You mentioned before a bit about it but I never imagined you were talking about Kenny the ripper." A sort of "oh, you told us a bit about your past but never in detail and now that's plot-wise important, we get the details, we understand it a bit more because we are close to you than the rest but that 'extra information' isn't important enough for the reader to be aware of it but my knowledge about it showcases my closeness to you" sort of thing? I don't know if that makes sense; that's what I mean that for me Isayama lacks a bit in the writing relationship departments because those little details are so subtle but mean so much.
Anyways, the good thing is that we can fill that void with fanfics!

Just a quick fun little Torchwood AU that I put no thought into!!! /s (these ideas have not left me alone and I have thought about this extensively and in detail)
If you're unfamiliar with Torchwood, it's a spinoff show from Doctor Who about an organisation on Earth who monitor and sometimes combat extra terrestrial activity. Think MI5 but with aliens.
- it's in the modern era
- Lucy and Felix are Torchwood too
- the rift is under London now
- so everything happens canonically, like Daisy and Hazel still experience and solve all the murders, Daisy still dies at the end of DSS
- and she like ACTUALLY dies. She drowns
- Felix is understandably Devastated, and goes to make some Unwise Decisions
- these involve ripping someone from the past through the rift and then putting their unlived energy from their time period into Daisy to revive her
- the person he takes from the past is from the 1930s. Guess who it is. It's Aleks!!!
- Felix pulls him through because he was reported missing, but noone was looking for him (sorry Aleks) and so Felix figures it's ok to pull him through
- (it gets a bit paradoxical because the only reason Aleks is reported missing in the first place is because Felix pulls him through the rift)
- Daisy and Aleks are now like. Lowkey connected because of this
- for example if Aleks died Daisy would too and sometimes they hear a very brief glimpse of the other's thoughts
- anyway Hazel and George saw Daisy die, like her body and everything, including in the morgue
- when Daisy comes back Hazel doesn't take it well, understandably, thinks she's fake and not the 'real Daisy'
- so they retcon her (which means they give her an amnesia pill) and leave her to grieve
- George is slightly more on board with everything and so gets to remember Daisy, but this makes him and Hazel drift apart because she can't understand why he doesn't seem as sad as her
- fast forward to when they're all adults (like 20ish)
- Daisy, George and Aleks are working at Torchwood, they were recruited
- Hazel's just out living her life, but she's a bit lonely, so Kitty drags her to a bar one night
- at the same time, Aleks is deemed to have learned enough about the 21st century to go out on his own, George encourages him to go to a bar and socialise
- Hazel and Aleks meet and really like each other, they fall in love blah blah blah
- George and Daisy (especially Daisy) are losing their mind over the fact Aleks has managed to fall in love with their old best friend
- Hazel and Aleks get all domestic, move in together, but she gets suspicious at the fact he's always out at odd hours
- she tails him one day and is completely shocked to see him and George at an alien ship crash site or something like that
- she tails them and ends up at the ✨Torchwood base✨
- she sees Daisy and is like 'hey! What the fuck!' but deals with it better this time
- Hazel feels so guilty that she didn't believe Daisy all those years ago
- anyway everything is explained, Hazel gets recruited, joins the team (she's still completely pissed at absolutely everyone for lying to her but moving on)
- ok so that's the backstory
- they solve and sometimes create alien shenanigans
- they find out that Hazel has this weird energy around her that draws in murder to her
- the murders would have still happened regardless but some universe energy is always creating opportunities for her to be there
- Daisy is a little jealous of this
- Hazel and Daisy actually solving the murders is just something they happen to do because they're good at it
- none of them are monogamous
- Daisy is a trans woman, and an aromantic lesbian, she/her
- George just uses the label queer for gender and sexuality, pronouns change on the regular, depending on his mood
- Aleks is still figuring shit out because he's from the 1930s but definitely thinks boys and girls are attractive. He/him but George explained pronouns to him and he got excited when he realised people could use she/her for him but he's left that for another day
- Hazel is a nonbinary girl, uses she/they and is bisexual
- they're all like slightly in love with each other in the sense that noone else has seen what they've seen, and they've been through shit together. They'll always always have each others' backs

"uUhHh AcTuaLLy sTePhEn HiLLeNbUrG wOuLd'Ve HaTeD-" no literally just stfu
the staff are trying their best to make an entertaining show and he would be very proud of how they added their own touch to his show PLUS this show is literally hurting nobody they're just switching things up a lil bit
but yeah go off about how the show hasn't been as good as the eps you saw 20 billion years ago when you were literally in the target demographic bc the creator is dead and his friends/co-workers are """ruining his legacy"""
yeah real mature argument you got there buddy 😐
Tbh ur right but also I'm mildly confused if you mean this as a general response to the fans or me specifically because I used to be against the spinoffs and stuff years ago though I realize I was wrong and I love the spinoffs now but my old posts are still out there :/
Still I agree, Hillenburg left the show in the hands of the crew, particularly people who worked on the show since the beginning. He never said no spinoffs, he said he didn't see any, this interview that's often misquoted is from almost 15 years ago. Even the ex crew members who were critical of the spinoffs said cartoon reviewers twisted their words.
We do know Hillenburg was involved with kamp koral. Literally the 3rd movie was in CGI as a test to see how CG would work since Hillenburg was skeptical of it but he ended up liking it. The 3rd movie was in production since 2016, Hillenburg was CERTAINLY involved in it. The movie was originally set to come out in 2019 but kept being delayed. It did finally come out in 2020 but a year delay isn't enough to create the whole kamp koral concept. It was conceived while Hillenburg was alive. We KNOW so because the literal concept of Spongebob going to camp was his idea. Hillenburg loved camping and thr outdoors. It was something personal to him. It's actually really unfair how much the show gets dragged due to misinformation and inflammatory statements done by cartoon reviewers. I'm not a fan of kamp koral but I'm being honest when I say it was treated REALLY unfairly.
All this drama about Hillenburg's legacy ended up causing so much damage. Do you have any idea how many crew members were harassed and sent death threats over this? Some privates their social media, some abandoned their social media. Someone said Spongebob fans are the sonic fans of cartoons. Tbh I don't think they're that bad but they honestly have a shitty track record that are sometimes ENCOURAGED by some cartoon reviewers. I've been into the show's online fandom since I was 13, you cannot believe how many times there was drama over fans sending death threats to the writers. I can't even count it on my fingers.
People wonder why the Patrick Star Show made fun of cartoon reviewers but y'all don't know how hostile some people were.
Also for the record I'm not against being critical of the show. I've done so many times in the past myself. But at the end of the day, this show is people's jobs, they have their own lives, be respectful and be reasonable. Of course this is the internet so those two qualities are hard to find on here but I'm just saying.

Essential Avengers: Avengers #301: SUPER NOVA UNBOUND!
Tumblr media
March, 1989
BRAIN LEECHES?!
Do they leech on brains or are they leeches what are brains? Both? Neither?
Day 1 of the Fantastic Two being on the Avengers and they're still rocking the 4s.
Get with the program, Richardses.
I also see that Day 1 of this new Avengers roster and the Captain has returned to being Captain America and ditched the darker costume. Funny how things coincide.
Gilgamesh continues to look like Some Guy in the roster box. Geez, not even going to wear your crappy helmet to look less boring in the roster box? Where's your team spirit, ya dink?
Last times in Avengers: Under the influence of ominous sex dreams from Nebula, Dr Druid basically broke the Avengers. Thor wound up disbanding the team because there was nobody left to be on the team. Then Jarvis had an adventure. Then the Captain and a team of ad-hoc Avengers thwarted the High Evolutionary. Then Inferno happened. During Inferno, first an egg then a demon kidnapped Franklin Richards. The Captain teamed up with Mr Fantastic and Invisible Woman to save yon child. Also, Gilgamesh just showed up. And then they all met Thor. After beating up a lot of demons, the four decide to form a fantastic new Avengers team.
It ain't going to last so lets enjoy it while it does.
Simonson quit the book because he was told he wouldn't get to keep this roster. So this arc is written by Mark Gruenwald and Ralph Macchio. Some of our temporary writers before Byrne takes over the book in #305.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hi, Thor.
Thor is dragging Hydrobase closer to Manhattan. Parking it right next to Liberty Island.
If Hydrobase is to be the Avengers' new, definitely permanent base, then it's going to need to be more accessible.
They've also just bought the entire island and renamed it Avengers Island. A concept that will later be revisited when Sunspot similarly throws around 'purchasing an island' money.
Mr Fantastic is even going to install a shuttle tube between the island and Battery Park.
This is going to be one sweet, artificial island superhero headquarters!
Let's enjoy it while it lasts!
Captain America is impressed with all these projects Mr Fantastic is helping with. But he also wonders whether Reed wants to be in charge.
ITS NOT AVENGERS IF THERES NOT EVENTUALLY A STRUGGLE OVER LEADERSHIP I GUESS.
Hm. Not something you see as much in modern times. If there's a disagreement, usually there's just a Civil War or a spinoff book.
I can't believe Hawkeye yelling that Captain America is ooooooooold was the more mature option.
Mr Fantastic stretches up a thumbs up to let Thor know the island is in the proper spot. Then, he gives Thor more work to do. Gotta get good work out of your Thor.
He asks Thor to go help Gilgamesh pound in giant adamantium mooring posts. You know, to keep the floating island from floating away.
Gilgamesh is actually pretty into pinning down a floating island. It has a mythological/legendary energy to it that he vibes with.
Jarvis comes up to the new Avengers to introduce the new Avengers' head of security. BECAUSE THEY MAY AS WELL HAVE ONE OF THOSE, Y'KNOW?
I doubt it will help. Because supervillain attacks and infiltration or whatever are plot-mandated. No security can trump that.
But Michael O'Brien was head of security at Project Pegasus so maybe he'll be able to do a good job with Avengers Island.
This era of Avengers tries to make a supporting staff for the Avengers a thing.
I'm here for it. I like Jarvis and having more of a supporting cast can be fun.
Sue comments that the Avengers sure seem a lot more business-like than the Fantastic Four.
Since I think the Fantastic Four had more of a civilian supporting cast way before the Avengers, I don't know what she's on about.
Maybe she's just trying to make conversation but Reed isn't paying any attention.
So she asks how long Reed is planning to stay with the Avengers (and by extension, how long she'll have to?)
Mr Fantastic: "The, ahh, challenges of helping Cap get his group back on its feet interest me more and more. I haven't decided how long to stay."
Now, I'm pretty sure this conversation is to soften the blow when Reed and Sue fuck off back to the Fantastic Four book.
But I do think its an interesting starting place for the Richardses to be on the Avengers.
They were retired so maybe they aren't planning to stay long-term. With the Avengers being so short-handed, maybe Reed and Sue just stay long enough for Captain America to get the team back on solid footing. And in the meantime, Cap and Reed have big ideas on how to revamp the team.
Its good tension!
A leadership struggle between Cap and Reed. And Sue wanting to leave the team to go back to retirement so they can spend more time with Franklin.
Sue even wonders whether Reed wants to make his mark on the Avengers as a sort of way to compete with Ben The Thing Grimm now that his bestie is running the Fantastic Four.
It's an interesting dynamic!
It does make me wish that it got to play out longer than its going to.
Sue is saved from a conversation that Reed isn't really paying attention to by a giant A made of fire blazing above New York.
She wonders whether its the Human Torch, making an A like he usually makes a 4 to summon the team. But since Reed is always right about everything based on nothing, he decides its definitely not Johnny.
Why would Johnny waste so much flame-power to get their attention! Clearly he would never do that, as of this moment and just so Reed is right!
Reed summons the Avengers to the Fantasti-Car. Kkinda love that Reed just brought it with him onto this Avengers roster. It seems like it could be more convenient for shorter distance travel than getting in a Quinjet every time.
Tumblr media
The Worst Roster assembles and heads to the Fifth Avenue and 71st Street park that used to be the Avengers Mansion and find... THEIR GOOD OL PAL STARFOX.
With Firelord's fire stick too.
It's been a while (issue #260) but when we last saw Starfox and Firelord, they had set off together to try to track down Nebula, after the Beyonder teleported her to a random location.
Starfox wanted to find Nebula because he felt responsible for her crimes since she claimed to be his grand-niece and Thanos' granddaughter.
Firelord wanted to find her because she murderfied the fuck out of his homeplanet of Xandar and killed the Nova Corp.
Until a later retcon, it seems like the Nebula subplot was wrapped up with her infiltrating the Kang Klubhouse and trying to use the Avengers to find the Best Weapon Ever. She did this by seducing shitheel Dr Druid into taking over the team for her. But then three random Kangs threw a wooden shoe into the cogs of her machinations and Nebula and Dr Druid wound up falling into a time hole.
Phew, recaps.
The Avengers actually explain this in brief to Starfox's chagrin. Because he and Firelord searched space in vain for her when they could have just stayed on Earth.
And by poking around in space, the two ran into worse trouble.
A being called Super-Nova, the last survivor of Xandar. He's super powerful and super pissed off and super on his way to Earth.
Thor takes Starfox off to a medical specialist who won't be baffled by his alien physiology. Its not said specifically that its Donald Blake but its usually Donald Blake.
Thor rejoins the Avengers just as they're taking off in the Fantastic Four's special 4-branded ICBM.
Like the Fantasti-Car, I'm tickled by how much it seems like Reed is trying to make the Avengers into a him thing. The Avengers already had a space-capable Quinjet. They didn't need to use the 4CBM but if Reed is offering, its rude not to.
Thor comes aboard the missile through an airlock and briefs the Avengers about Starfox's medical care.
Captain America muses whether they should make Thor's doctor buddy into the Avengers' official medic. And Thor says he'll ask.
That'd be awkward if it is Donald Blake. But we're post-Simonson so I don't think Thor has that identity anymore.
Reed starts scanning for any unaccounted mass in the area that Starfox said Super-Nova would be coming from.
Cap marvels at how sophisticated the FF-ICBM is compared to the Quinjets. So I guess thats why they took the missile. Its just way better.
And Reed's scans turn something up!
Tumblr media
A BIG FUCK-OFF SPACESHIP.
It looks Xandarian in design so the Avengers figure this gotta be Super-Nova's ship.
And he didn't even bother to cloak so he must be on quite the power trip.
Reed also predicts that Super-Nova definitely saw them coming but if he's arrogant enough to tool around uncloaked when Xandarian ships can easily stealth-mode, then he might also be arrogant enough not to see them as a threat.
Reed also explains the idea of transparent spacesuits to Captain America, prompting Cap to go 'pls, no more exposition dump.'
Tumblr media
Ah, invisible spacesuits. Everyone can still appear in their costumes, so they can be told apart and all you have to do is draw bubble helmets and an outline around everyone.
Everyone except Thor and Gilgamesh.
Pssh. Gods don't need to breath in space.
Inside the Xandarian spacesuit, there's no artificial gravity, so Invisible Sue puts an invisible force bubble around everyone and moves them as a group through the ship.
Captain America: Interesting how Richards just takes over and starts giving orders even though I'm Avengers leader! But... I guess space is more his domain than mine and I'm sure there's no slight intended!
Leadership struggle!
Sue asks Thor if Starfox told him anything about what to expect inside the ship but Firelord and Starfox fought Super-Nova outside the ship.
Reed is sure they're on the right track because Firelord's staff is burning more brightly so he thinks they're getting closer to Firelord.
And then
Tumblr media
BRAIN LEECHES!
Why is space always so full of disembodied brains?
Sue suggests that maybe these brains are the crew of this ship and maybe they shouldn't jump the gun. Maybe they're not hostile.
Thor declares "We must strike first or mayhaps be o'erwhelmed by superior numbers!"
And throws Mjolnir without waiting for anyone's thoughts on that.
Reed is afraid that best case scenario, Mjolnir bounces off the force field and hits one of the Avengers. He tells Sue to drop the field. Better deal with the brains, than Mjolnir.
Sue herself thinks she might have held Mjolnir but that the strain was a lot.
Tumblr media
Anyways, as soon as the field drops and Mjolnir obliterates one of the brain leeches, the rest swarm the Avengers.
Captain America: That was a foul-up we could've avoided! We've still got a long way to go before we're not stepping on each other's toes!
Since the writing on the wall, I think this is supposed to set the stage for the Richardses to quit the Avengers fairly soon. Their method of doing things just doesn't gel with the Avengers.
BUT IT IS ALSO GREAT CHARACTER TENSION!
Mr Fantastic almost reflexively barks orders at everyone. Captain America shrugs it off in this case because Reed is more experienced with space stuff. But Thor is used to doing things his own way and Reed hasn't personally earned his respect the way Captains America or Marvel have.
And Thor isn't an idiot. And he has a lot of experience with weird space stuff. More than Reed, probably. Very long lived god guy. Swarms of brains are just something that Thor looks at and goes 'better hit them with Mjolnir.'
But the mess they're in now because Thor didn't march to Reed's drum maybe justifies to Reed that he should be in charge, after all.
I repeat myself but its a shame that this is a throwaway story to dig the book out of the hole Simonson left it in. This is good stuff.
Gilgamesh metaphorically explodes out of the brain pile and starts beating a brain with another brain.
Tumblr media
Which is just A+. Good job, Gilgamesh.
Thor squishes a brain with Mjolnir, again. And up close Reed is able to see that instead of organic nerve connections, the brain leeches are held together by electricity.
This means that it is 100% okay to murderfy the fuck out of these brain things. They are 100% not really alive, "at best, they're pseudo-life!"
I love when Reed speaks authoritatively out his ass.
This is comics. A real, living brain thing with electricity instead of nerves is so plausible.
But its good that Reed told everyone it was okay to kill the brains when they've already been killing the brains.
Maybe the comment was aimed at Sue.
Because it takes her exactly one panel after that before she starts exploding the brains by growing force bubbles inside them.
Sue just loves putting bubbles in peoples' brains. Its her thing.
Despite the numbers, the Avengers' willingness to just pulp these guys means the battle starts to turn to their advantage. But Reed bemoans this unnecessary fight scene all because Thor couldn't keep Mjolnir in his pants, metaphorically.
When the numbers get low enough, Reed slingshots the remaining group of them in all directions with his stretchy belly, SPRONG!, and the brain leeches flee.
Gilgamesh starts flying after them because one of them stole his dumb helmet during the fight but Cap yells at him to stick with the group.
Wa-hey! More group tension! Thor is used to taking orders from puny mortals but how about Gilgamesh?
He follows Cap's order but he looks awfully sour about it.
Captain America muses that although they won the fight against the brain leeches, they didn't gel as a group. Everyone just smashed brains on their own. He's determined to get this group acting like a real, united Avengers team -- if they survive this experience.
Since the fight is done, Sue asks Reed what the brain leeches even are.
Reed deduces that they're part of the living computer of Xandar, which he saw back in FF #207. If you know Nova stuff from when Dick Rider was the only Nova, then you know Worldmind.
Dead Xandarian brains are preserved and made part of the Worldmind. And, uh, the Avengers just squished a lot of data, I guess. Whoops.
File not found?
Its funny how a bio-mechanical supercomputer made out of the brains of the populace is something the Kree and Xandarians have in common. You'd almost think it's something that all sufficiently advanced space civilizations could manage but as far as I know, its not common among the other big names.
Anyway, Reed decides he needs to study one of the brain leeches and has Sue capture one in a bubble.
Captain America thinks that Reed's priorities are all wrong. The Avengers are here on a mission, not a research expedition. But he lets it play out because its not getting in the way, really.
Captain America: "Richards seems intent on being the scientist no matter the circumstances."
TENSION!
Also, the Avengers find Firelord.
Hanging upside down in a big chamber with a bunch of wires and devices stuck to him.
Tumblr media
I wonder if he's being used as a battery.
Because of all the wires 'n stuff, Reed thinks its too dangerous to just yank him loose.
So instead he blasts Firelord with his Firelord stick.
Everyone goes 'what the SHIT, Reed??' but he explains that he was pretty sure that Firelord's weapon won't hurt him. Based on his experience with the Silver Surfer.
And then he backpedals and says actually exceptions apply. But he "channeled the power carefully."
Anyway, the stick blast frees Firelord.
Thor: "Firelord was a noble ally -- and sometimes foe. I rejoice that he yet lives! Now, we must needs seek the base villain who put him in such an ignominious state!"
AND THEN A BRIGHT LIGHT SHINES FROM ABOVE ILLUMINATING THE CHAMBER.
Thor: "Behind us -- sudden light! Our unseen enemy or --" Captain America: "Look sharp, Avengers! This may be the showdown!" Invisible Woman: "Look at that! No wonder Firelord didn't stand a chance!" Gilgamesh with Prince Valiant hair: "But we stand together -- and will prevail!" Thor: "By Ymir's beard!"
Tumblr media
Super Nova: "WHO DARES?! WHO DARES DISTURB THE SANCTUM OF THE LAST SON OF XANDAR?!"
ITS A BIG PURPLE GUY!
Sue and Reed sure have to deal with a lot of those...
Thor says that they're the Avengers which piques Super Nova's interest.
BECAUSE YOU SEE
He's looking for the Avengers. Because he heard that Nebula is an Avenger. And Nebula destroyed Xandar.
Ruh roh.
Wait but how does he know about that? Nebula only joined the Avengers when they were trying to fly into the bubble what is in the center of time.
She was an Avenger for all of part of an issue! During which time nobody else was around to pass the news along!
How the hell did you hear about this, Super Nova??
Captain America explains that Nebula only joined the team through trickery and that she has nothing to do with them now.
Super Nova argues BULL and SHIT. Such a transparent lie won't fool him, the smartest guy around! He knows they're hiding her.
Soooo... he's going to go to Earth and break shit until the Avengers give him Nebula.
Thor: "Verily, thine arrogance is exceeded only by thine ignorance! Captain America speak truth! She is not among us -- or on Midgard! But if thou seeks battle -- the Avengers stand ready!" Super Nova: "I'VE NO TIME TO ENGAGE IN POINTLESS STRUGGLE WITH SUCH INFERIORS! OTHER PURSUITS NOW ENGAGE ME!"
Tumblr media
Super Nova: "Super-Nova WILL RAVAGE THE EARTH AND LEAVE IT A SMOLDERING CINDER UNLESS THE WOMAN CALLED NEBULA APPEARS AND -- VENGEANCE IS MINE!!"
And Super Nova blasts off so quickly that he blows up his own ship.
Kinda wasteful, dude.
Also, I guess the Avengers are dead forever. Again.
I guess the West Coast Avengers are just the Avengers now. Or maybe the book will just be about Jarvis from now on.
But, nah, I'm sure that Sue put a force field around the Avengers just before disaster. She tends to do that.
What's funny is that the next issue teaser uses a very similar joke, guessing that "guest stars galore" will save Earth.
Follow @essential-avengers for all the posts, all in a row. Like, reblog, and comment if you'd like. I'd appreciate it.

When and where did Andres meet a retired HITMAN, and what did he do that was so important that Jakov pledged undying loyalty to him, his brother, and his legacy??? That's such an interesting story I can't believe Pina ignored it for giving Andres a new group of people - YOU ARE SO REAL FOR SAYING THIS. To be very honest I didn't care much for the cormorants flashback in lcdp s5 but oh my god this spinoff is making me miss them too on top of Sergio & Martín. Bogota is understandable since they met much later on but Jakov's backstory has so much potential! He even chose the name Marseille which could be interesting if that has something to do with Andrés and if they met in France perhaps. I also think it's very interesting how Andrés is able to inspire loyalty in such a different group of people, I mean, an engineer and a hitman are so different but both are/were so loyal to not just him but Sergio & the Bank of Spain heist itself even after he's dead, now those kind of relationships would be interesting to watch to see how they started, ugh I really hate this 'golden gang' lmao they don't even know who Sergio is! (and don't get me started on how INSULTING it is to try and replace Sergio like that with an actual professor 😐)
Thank you for agreeing and adding on, anon! What else can I say except YOU ARE RIGHT AND YOU SHOULD SAY IT. I agree with Everything you mentioned, literally everything. I was bored by the Copenhagen heist, but omg at least it had Bogota and Marseille (and at least we Knew what Tatiana & Rafael's relationship was). I honestly missed those two so much. We know Bogota was pulled in by Martin later, so it's understandable (but unfortunate smh) that he wouldn't be part of Andres' "golden" years.
But the original show hinted so much at Jakov having some deep relationship with Andres that them not explaining is just ??? and his name is literally Marseille, a place in France. The spinoff would have been the Perfect place to slip him in as both a familiar face for old fans and an interesting subplot that's more thrilling/darker than just some kids going on dates.
Yes! The friendships Andres had with the cormorants was very interesting and actually added to his character because these were people from such different walks of life. A Croatian hitman, an Argentinian engineer, hello!???? Even when Bogota came into the fold, it was so refreshing to see a guy Andres' age constantly roughing him up. These men were his equals, and they felt like his friends, people who genuinely stuck with him even after his death because they are all freaks saw someone in him beyond the narcissistic delusional dandy front he's always putting up. There's something so intense and interesting there that I KNOW audiences would be glued watching how these relationships started and grew.
Like you said, the "golden gang" doesn't even Sergio(!!). Clearly, Andres didn't think they were worth introducing to his beloved brother. Replacing Sergio with Damian was also such a bizarre choice, I honestly thought there'd be more to it than Pina just wanting another professor character. Like, I found it insulting that they just expected us to believe Damian was Andres' dear friend without any explanation over -how they met -why they're friends -what the hell happened to Damian between the spinoff & lcdp.

My happy thoughts on Only Friends finale
Now that I vented, digested the last episode, and even answered some idiot annoying me in my notifications, I guess it's the perfect time to share my thoughts on the series overall.
I really enjoyed Only Friends. I was excited for the series because 1. I was completely sold on the premise of the show and 2. I had just found out about First and Khaotung as a pairing (I had just finished The Eclipse) and wanted to see them in another kind of story. I also had heard a lot of good things about Force and Book and I already knew Mark and Neo, so I was really expecting great things.
It did not disappoint me at all! I really enjoyed the journey. To be honest, most of the things that made my blood boil were stuff coming from the fandom, not the actual series. If I remove said bad things, it would be an almost perfect experience.
Almost, because obviously, nothing is perfect. There are many loose threads that, to be very honest, bother me to no end. Most of the things that bother me I shared while waiting for the next episode to air. I already said what I wanted to say about the character development of Boston, and I do have other 2 or 3 things that maybe I'll share in the future. Maybe I got my hopes too high since I saw many people praising the directors and writing crew — while I hadn't watched anything from any of them before. I guess I made my hopes too high and my expectations became unreachable.
But that said, I'm really glad the series exists, and I'm glad for the ending we got. Not too open-ended to make me feel like I needed closure, not too set in stone to make me uncomfortable with some writing decisions. I still don't think I want a second season (only if they promise to give me firstmix lol), but I'm not as scared of this possibility as I was before.
I'm really glad this was my opportunity to get to know forcebook as actors. I enjoyed Book's acting the most, and I burst out laughing with every interview I watch of Force. I'm already planning on binge watching all their series by the end of the year.
I'm glad to have seen different acting facets from Mark and Neo. Even if they're not paired again, I hope this series gives them more opportunities for different roles in the future.
I'm glad this series solidified the love I feel for First and Khaotung. Seriously, I can't put into words everything I think about them. They really are a gem. Also I'm glad I'll have the opportunity to meet them this December (I still can't believe that is going to happen).
Last but not least, I'm glad for Jojo, Ninew, and literally everyone involved in the creation of the series. Yes, nothing is perfect, but I see and appreciate the effort you guys put into making Only Friends as it is. If this will evolve into a second season, a spinoff, or just more job opportunities, I don't know, but I'm sure it will be fruitful for everyone.

The post was a few years ago (or last year) it looks like, yes, but basically you said something about what you thought the end of ‘Danganronpa Togami’ meant, then @drmedicsgamesurgery chimed in in the reblogs to tell you that your interpretation was wrong/invalid, then said their interpretation in a way that felt like the vibes of one of those Reddit “Um actually” posts, and I kind of felt bad about it for you just to read it, like it’s a fandom, we can be nice to each other and respect each other’s interpretations. Good to @drmedicsgamesurgery as well though if the two of you are on good/much better terms now.
Ohhh, okay. Thanks for clarifying this to me!
I can find a post or two similar to what you're describing related to Danganronpa Kirigiri, and I can remember some other disagreements —I know we've always disagreed on the characterizations of Jin and Fuhito, though I largely blame Takekuni Kitayama for that. :P But I can't find a post related to the Danganronpa Togami light novels that contains any major disagreements? Or maybe I just didn't interpret any of the disagreements in those posts as anything major
Admittedly, my Tumblr has been actively posting since something like late 2016, so I'm just gonna go ahead and believe you if you say such a post exists, lol. Six years worth of a blog that posts damn near daily is a LOT of posts to sift through. As it stands, I probably just don't remember this particular incident. Sounds like it leans towards being on the more recent side of the Hopey history, but it still isn't ringing bells with me, and I can't seem to do a search good enough to locate it... sorry. But maybe that's for the best, y'know?
I don't exactly have a direct relationship with @drmedicsgamesurgery beyond A) us sometimes commenting on or reblogging each other's posts and B) us weirdly getting mistaken for being the same person for some inexplicable reason.... but regardless, no worries there — I have zero beef with them at this point. I believe there's two (?) people who operate under that name as a team? And personally, I feel like they've proven to be a knowledgeable resource on some of the deep lore — most especially when it comes to the side content/spinoffs. Hell, they were even instrumental in bringing us the translation of Kirigiri Sou, and I believe they're still a major driving force behind the DR spinoffs wiki.
But if they seemed to previously sound snippy or derisive towards me? I remember a long time ago, I once used this blog to vent about my frustrations with the main DR wiki's content, only for them to swing in to reveal that they're one of the major contributors there, which meant I now sounded like I was bitching directly about them, which made me seem like a gigantic asshole. So yeah, I'm sure I've come off as a snippy bitch in the past in my own right. I'm just gonna choose to assume it evens out, lol.
At any rate, there's a decent chance they'll chime in on this post later, so maybe check the comments/reblogs for more. Thanks again for the additional context, your intention of support, and your overall kind words :)

Im absolutely torn because i dont wanna watch the spin off since no carol no caryl but im french and seing the photos of the set are actually moving for me. Its probably not even the real places but some studio shooting, something recreated, but it looks realistic anyway and i cant help but be moved to see my country and both my cities (Paris and Martigues since i now live in Paris but grew up in the south) shown in a US production. I know its probably not that rare, i mean there was a whole movie with Matt Damon in Marseille recently for instance, but i always dreamt abt twd expanding in other places like Europe or Asia, and when its finally happening, its in my country but at the detriment of my ship and of my favorite female character, Carol. I see so much salty remarks abt France within the carylers that i feel like a traitor because im still happy it takes place here but devastated it is without her, at least for now. Yes, like everyone, i wanted new mexico (all the signs were here and i truly believe this was the original plan) but gosh how happy i would have been to see them together in Paris. Hope it still can happen in s2..
If it's any consolation, setting the spinoff in France (not to be confused with shooting it there) isn't the biggest issue even if it requires some suspension of disbelief. The biggest issue is that the show is in the wrong hands. The tone is off-putting, the plot is all over the place. What is this show about? A new variation of walkers? Human/sex trafficking? Patriotism? A pilgrimage? If any or all of the above are the correct answer, then that's alarming because it should be about the characters. Yet, none of the decision makers seem concerned about Daryl. If they were, he wouldn't be wearing those ridiculous outfits or questioning where he belongs for the 10th time. I highly suspect they aren't concerned about how they're going to represent French culture either, but I'd be curious to get your perspective on that if you decide to watch S1. I can't do it xP I'll wait for Carol, and if the two of them are still in France in S2, that's fine as long the story goes in a completely new direction and it honors their relationship.
(Since I spend so much time on my soapbox, I should really just camp up here)

Hello, Tetra.
I am new here, only for Eldarya because yeah, another unsatisfied customer about how ANE has developed, and I have recently found out that on tumblr I am free to read as many fanfictions as I want and I truly wasn't disappointed. I wanted to know if you have written one yourself and if so, on which route. Also I wouldn't say no to recommendations as well, apart from Play with Fire and I am not your enemy, already read and enjoyed deeply.
Lance is my favourite, how surprising, even though I prefer the Ashkore from TO, how surprising again. ;))
Anyways, I am very interested about their plans after finishing ANE. I want it so bad to release different alternate life stories, like what would have happend if Erika had turned her back on the guard and lived a forbidden romance with Ashkore, what if Valkyon survived the final battle and what if Ezarel never left. Also, a little disappointed that Miiko left as well, I remember that I was a hater of her in the first episodes released, and ended up really liking her character development. Actually, the only character that I could stand at the beginning was Ash. :))
AND MORE SPIN-OFFS, THEY WERE AMAZING. The one with Chrome was very funny, the one with Leiftan answered a lot of questions and the one with Valkyon was a little silly but still enjoyable, (maybe I have a thing for dragons, they are my favourite mythical creatures <3). I can't believe how Valky didn't put the pieces together and finally realise it was his brother all along and how he didn't sensed his dragon smell. :'((
What do you think about this whole spin-off/alternate life fiasco?
One last thing, I have read MCL and Henri's Secret back in high school. In MCL I enjoyed the most the original routes, not what they have done with the point system (same for Eldarya) and whatever is going on with UL and LL not a fan. And Henri's Secret was great, I really liked the sweet romance type at that time and I have recently heard that they released season 2 as well and I am kinda skeptical about it because I have seen it two times already how beemoov can destroy their games, and I don't want to risk seeing another game that I loved falling apart. So if you or anyone have played it, tell me does it deserve a chance?
Thank you so much in advance if you'll respond to my message. For their own sake, I wish beemoov will hire you ASAP!!!
Hi anon, welcome to Tumblr! Yes there have been lots of people writing fanfics here throughout the years, I've also enjoyed writing for a little while, my masterlist is here. I also have an AO3 account under the name Tetraktys where I've maybe posted a couple of extra things, mostly my contributions to events organised in my discord server. And when it comes to Eldarya, yeah I mostly wrote about Lance ☺️
Now, about your other questions:
Yes ANE is a big disappointment for me, the latest episode was a let down just like the rest of the season. Finally sleeping with Lance should’ve been the best day of my otome life and instead I felt nothing but sadness for him being a shell of his former self, at this point I only play for the illustrations and the main plot. And yeah I would love more spinoffs and alternate life stories, I selfishly hope people will still invest in the game so that more content will be produced after this season ends.
What do you mean with spinoff/alternate life fiasco?
About MCL, I understand you, I personally love UL but the original boys are the best, who was your favourite? If you haven’t already you should really check out Lys and Kentin's AL episodes because they're great, I can't wait for Armin to be released.
And about Henri's Secret, I really liked season 1, I played the whole thing on Steam in 3 days and it was amazing. I didn’t play season 2 because it was only produced for mobile which I don’t really like, I much prefer playing on pc, and also because most of the plot is about jealousy and drama due to a woman love rival. This is a trope a really dislike. If you want to read more about it, check @crownysworldofficial who played both the revamped S1 and the whole second season and posted illustrations and summaries.
And about Beemoov hiring me, haha thank you for the vote of confidence! Not sure for what purpose they could hire me for, but it'd be funny.
Again, welcome to the fandom! 💕

@girllaura said she can't stop crying. This post is for you, but also all carylers that are having a really hard time right now.
Tumblr media
There are many reasons to be upset, but we all seem to be upset for different reasons, which may or may not all be valid.
1) No Carol in spinoff
2) If there is no Carol in spinoff, that must mean 11c isn't going full acknowledgement (that's the word I personally use cause they are already friggin' canon!)
3) somebody must have screwed someone over
4) AMC is covering for it
Tumblr media
Those are the reasons I can think of, keeping in mind the reactions I've seen and what's going on now. Imma tackle these issues one by one.
1) While I personally think Daryl spinoff with Daryl alone is not a good idea (maybe a very limited series with much less than ten episodes), I have to say that I don't mind, as long as 11c ends well and "happy" for now.
In my opinion franchises often spread themselves and the fans' supposed interest too thin, thinking $$$$$$$ instead of quality. Spinoffs rarely have that. I wouldn't want a "Joanie loves Chachi" calibre of a spinoff (look it up!), I'd want a Frasier, which not everyone even realizes or remembers was a spinoff. If you're not going to do the spinoff well and with proper writing, don't do it at all.
(Also, how good can the scripts be if they are supposed to write them now and start filming soon? They must have had a plan b, though, is what I think. If they did a short, very limited season of Daryl doing something somewhere before getting back to Carol, I wouldn't mind that. They just can't erase Carol now; that is my worry.)
Tumblr media
2) I have actual fears of TWD pulling a GoT season eight on us, but I choose to have faith. The proper "end" for Daryl and Carol (=Caryl acknowledgement) should happen in the main series anyway, and not the spinoff. Their story is a huge chunk of the original TWD and that is where it should be shown. Any spinoff is just gravy.
Both 11a and 11b tied up pretty much all loose ends standing in the way of Caryl that don't come from their own lack of verbal (!) communication.
Tumblr media
(Carol & co. found Connie, alive. Daryl found Leah, and gave her a chance to back away, but now that's done. Ezekiel was operated on, and he had closure with Carol about Henry and their relationship but it was clear even before it was stated by her that yes, that is over now.) That all cannot be a coincidence. Yes, there are several writers to a season, but when and if writing is good, these things don't happen and line up just by accident. They are heading to said acknowledgement, and they'd really have to pull off a GoT S8 to fail that now. (Still possible, but unlikely.)
3) We have no idea about this, and attacking people about it is plain wrong. Also stupid, because we are being painted as the crazies...and with some of the stuff I've seen (not only in Tumblr) I see their reasoning.
Tumblr media
We can ponder why it is so necessary to shoot in Europe and we can question how wise it is for them to go ahead with it now instead of just waiting, but I'd hate to put any more pressure on the actors and Melissa McBride especially. She seems to have her own, valid reasons (ailing father, I read somewhere?) and that might also be one reason her role in s11 has been smaller than anticipated/hoped.
And I have a very hard time believing this is all Norman's "fault" either. The rumors and "inside information" sound like they're all made up by people who just want to stir shit, and Caryl shit in particular.
Tumblr media
It's important to recognize the source of these feelings and to turn them into actual words. Is it because there is no Carol in spinoff or is it because we feel we have been duped and strung along? (Even gaslighted?) There is still 11c to come. Only after that can we, IMO, say we have been. As of now jury is still out.
4) I don't even know what to say to this one. As a big company I'm sure AMC is used to spin doctoring etc, but I don't see a conspiracy here, at the moment.
Everyone is entitled to their feelings, and that I truly believe in. It's the way those feelings are expressed sometimes that may turn problematic.
Tumblr media
I wish you all strength and patience, and hope. Keep on keeping on!

'i also firmly believe that although andrés has known for a long time about the way martín feels about him he still looks at him and can't believe it sometimes' <--- omg i want this in the spinoff so much! i hope martín appears but even if not i want to see andrés' side, just thinking about martín how beautiful smart etc he is.. in lcdp we had andrés praising him for sergio and the way andrés looks at him but not his actual thoughts - but if he's the narrator there's high chance 😍
Same anon omg!
Yes the looks Andrés gives Martín speak volumes, and also the way he praises him in front of Sergio and Sergio just has this look like he knows exactly what's going on and that this love is requited and if it ever reaches its full potential, these two and their plan will be unstoppable. But I'd LOVE the focus on Andrés' side, seeing how he looks at Martín when they're alone in the monastery, or the way he grieves after leaving him or thinks/talks about him when he's with one of his wives.
And I don't think Pina will do that but IMAGINE if Andrés were the same kind of narrator as Tokyo, there would be so much delusional talk which would be amazing and on top of that "Martín was amazing", "Martín was the only person in the group with a brain", "I went to Martín, because I knew he'd understand me and his beautiful smile would ease my nerves", "Martín is all I ever wanted in life, insane how a platonic love can make my dreams come true like that 🤪"
But the spinoff will probably be told from Andrés perspective in some way, so you're right, there is a high chance, and I'm so excited to find out!! <3

Does anyone feel it being kinda a cop out that the techniques for each saint through the generations just kinda stay the same?
Like I get it because honestly who would want to make up a new move set for a guy but honestly I just think it's a little disappointing they don't have more like a unique thing going for them whenever there's a successor to the armor? The question really more aimed for the less gimmickiy saints(basically the Gold Saints lol since for the most part they're moves aren't on the nose motif from their zodiac except just Milo and Aldebaran-ish(?))
Like you're telling me that every Pisces saint is just destined to be a rose guy? He can't have a different skill set and still be the saint for it? Like there's gotta be a difference right?? Shouldn't they just find their own way of wanting to fight?
I was just looking this up and this will probably be the only thing I will give the Omega anime credit for but they tried to have the new set of gold saints(most of them) actually have different skills/moves than their predecessors and its like "good.👍"
idk why I'm just thinking of this like I don't think there's like a rule that they had to keep the same moves the whole time right and I think it's said that all the gold saints from Dohko/Shion's generation all die during the last Hades war and it's like how did any of the gold saints in the main ver(minus Mu/Aioria) ever learn their moves? Was everyone just taught by a ghost then lol? Like I know it's confirmed in next dimension that the last guys basically all have the same moves like the current ones and in the episode GA they have some of them actually were the mentors for the main gold saints and its seemed like in epG continuity some of the older gold saints actually did survive the war but by the main story Dohko and Shion were just the last surviving saints from the 18th century which I'm not really gonna go further into cuz honestly believe what you want of this one also because I have no clue what is happening in epG
I just kinda honestly wouldn't believe how some characters would learn certain moves when their motif is really different. The biggest examples I think of are Shun and Ikki. I think most spinoffs don't ever make them actually become their respect gold saints because of their nature and I wouldn't think that Ikki or Shun would actually use the moves of Aioria/Shaka because how they all attack are wildly different from each other and Ikki and Shun still use their old bronze saint powers too. Like I guess if Shun randomly becomes a Buddhist all of a sudden you can say I'm wrong. Also the Phoenix armor is WAY too good to give up. It can literally revive itself anytime it breaks and like what? the Leo cloth is just gold or something ig/j
Uhh idk if there's a conclusion to this but basically I just think that it stinks that if a saint succeeds a cloth they gotta do the exact same moveset as the last one cuz honestly the original guy doesn't stay alive long enough to actually pass down their moves to make this viable
