So, my sibling was 12 when Sally Face came out and they loved it. I loved it. I am extremely picky about my video games and very seldom do I find one that I love.
They asked me who my favorite character was and I said, "Totally Larry, what about you?" and their eyes lit up and they smiled and were like "Dude, me too!" and then they drew me this picture.
There's an eight year age gap between us, but we always got along super well and one of the things we bonded over were games (and we still do)- now we're straight up best friends and I'm so, so proud of them and their accomplishments thus far.
They're 19 now, but this picture will forever be in my possession. :-)
If you happen to come back to The Hellsite™ and see this one day, I love you Hobbit. I know you're allergic to that word just like me, but I do and always will. ♡

February 12th is #DarwinDay (Charles Darwin was born on 12 February 1809), and while Darwin himself rarely drew, his children doodled plenty - including on the backs of his manuscript pages! :)

Superstar Daycare Art Display 1
The little ones from one of the evening sessions have some of their nice artwork to show off! Isn't that sweet... Huh, was pretty sure there were only four kids at that arts and crafts table with Sun... hmmm. Eh, whatever, some kid drew an extra. Or that dang Clown Gremlin Creature decided to draw an extra just to freak out the staff. Surely that's what it was.

may I introduce you to Shrekey Sheeran, the most important thing I have seen in Ireland thus far.
At VISUAL Carlow there was an exhibition of children’s drawings. That’s where I met Shrekey and his friends: Soros the Devil of Ireland, Bob the Irish Devil and Johanna the Witch/Ghost of 1986

I like to think combat training for these two became more complicated as they got older, if you know what I mean
I colored the last one first and then lowered my standards. give it up for 10yo ambrosius and his glaringly yellow shirt

An ancient Egyptian sherd with three children’s drawings.
Source: the University of Tübingen’s Athribis-Project.
In an Artfully Learning post titled Artfully Ancient Learning, I analyzed an early 2022 archeological discovery of pottery fragments from Ptolemaic-era Egypt inscribed with a educational content including mathematical problems, grammar exercises and a variety of sketches and pictographs. The inscriptions are believed to be the work of students. Looking at the drawings in particular, I described how the figuration indicated a developmentally appropriate understanding of the ancient Egyptian canon, and how they correspond with contemporary understandings of artistic development.
