Ozqrow Week 2023 Day 3: Nothing Bad Ever Happened AU
(Day 3! Give it up for day 3 of @ozqrowweek 2023! This one turned out to be a bit longer than I expected it to be intially. I'm not even sure that this half will even fit onto this post because I forgot the limit for tumblr, but I will most likely have the complete version up on my ao3 which is MissWritesALot55, so if you currently interested in seeing that or anything else, please do check it out. Without further ado, here's to Day 3!)
Ozqrow Week Day 3: Nothing Bad Ever Happened AU
Friday night dinners at the Xiao-Long Rose’s house were always something. From marriage announcements to Branwen twin brawls to full-out food fights that spanned across the property, Ozpin and their kitchen table had seen it all and this night was no exception to that.
Since dating Qrow in combat school through their time in Beacon all the way into adulthood, he was no stranger to the bombastic personalities of the members of Team STRQ and their daughters. Most of the time, he coasted through the craziness of it all until he had to participate in it actively.
But on this night, he and Qrow would be inciting a bit of chaos of their own because they would finally announce their engagement. Among other things.
Qrow and Ozpin had been together for half of their lives to where they were basically married, they just didn’t have the papers to say so. Everyone in their lives - friends and family alike - had long-standing bets on when these two would finally tie the knot - so far, James and Tai are in the lead.
And now, that time had finally come and they were ready to tell the family.
Ozpin was a bit nervous - anyone would be when making such a big announcement - but as he and Qrow walked up the dirt path with his giant pot that he for some reason that Summer always asked him to bring, he reminded himself that this was his family and while they might be a little pissed at the added announcement toward the end, they’ll be happy for them nonetheless.
“You doing alright there, Ozzy?” Qrow asked, snaking an arm around his waist.
Ozpin nodded, “I’m fine. Just excited for tonight.”
Qrow smirked, pecking a kiss to his temple, “Me too. Can’t wait to see the look on Tai’s face when he finds out he lost to Ol’ Jimmy Ironwood. And who knows, maybe he’ll let us keep some of his winnings.”
“And here I thought you were going to say something romantic like how you can’t wait to be my husband.”
“Well, yeah. That too – but think of all the money we’ll save Oz!”
Ozpin chuckled, playfully pushing Qrow as they got up to the door, “Alright, alright. I see your point. Just try not to let your excitement get the best of you,” he reached for the doorbell, “I doubt Tai has much money in this silly bet anyhow–”
The door opened, and a flood of yellow light poured into the darkness outside. The men turned to greet whichever of the Xiao Long-Roses were waiting on the opposite side – only to be met by the heiress of the Schnee dust company standing in the doorway, mouth gaped open in shock.
“Pro – Professor Ozpin?” she exclaimed, barely able to hide her surprise.
Ozpin flashed a nervous smile at the girl, “A-Ah! Good evening, Ms. Schnee. I…I didn’t expect to see you here…at all.”
“I – I didn’t expect to see you here either, Sir. N-Not that I’m not happy to see you here! Though, I have to ask, why are you here? And who is this?” Weiss asked, gesturing to Qrow.
Ozpin opened his mouth to explain when a pair of speedy and pounding footsteps came and cut him off before he could even so much as get out a breath. A flurry of red crashed into view and crashed into Qrow as well, knocking him into the grass.
“UNCLE QROW!” The faux redhead exclaimed, kicking her feet happily as she hugged her arms around his neck tightly.
Qrow gasped for a breath, “Jeez, kid! You’re really gettin’ the hang of your sneak attacks, aren’t cha?”
Ruby giggled, “It’s so good to see you again! Uncle Oz wouldn’t tell me where you went and–”
“I’m sorry — Uncle. Oz?” Weiss exclaimed.
Ruby sat up and tilted her head, blinking in owlish confusion, “Yeah? What about him?”
“Ruby Rose – Are you telling me this entire time our headmaster has been your — your–!”
“Oh, would you look at that? Your mother seems to be calling me! Coming!”
Ozpin quickly shuffled past Weiss, catching a quick glimpse of Blake Belladonna on the couch before ducking into the kitchen where Ruby’s mother, Summer Rose, was already hard at work with several different pots and pans already taking up most of the space on her stove.
She hummed as she slid a freshly formed fruit pie into the oven, not noticing Ozpin’s presence until she turned around and jumped a little in surprise.
“Oh! Oz, I didn’t see you there! Did you and Qrow just come in now?”
“Ah, yes. We did,” he set the pot down on one of the free counters and took a seat at the table, “He’s a little tied up with Ruby and Ms. Schnee.”
“Ms. Schnee – oh! You’re talking about that Weiss girl? White hair? Long ponytail? Overly formal?”
“That’s the one.”
“Oh, I’m so sorry I didn’t warn you in time. Ruby brought them over while I was in the zone and it completely slipped my mind that you were both coming over today!”
Ozpin shook his head, “No, no. No need to apologize. It’s fine. Honestly, I’m a little glad that they all came here together. I don’t know if she or Yang told you, but they were off to a bit of a rocky start when their team first formed.”
“Oh, trust me,” Summer said, fists on her hips, “I’ve heard plenty about all the escapades and arguments that Team RWBY have been through. Can’t say it doesn’t remind me of us back in our Beacon Days, though. I think of it as a bit of a tradition.”
Ozpin chuckled, “I suppose you have a point. There hasn’t been a year without a team who have nearly driven each other mad in the first few weeks of school.”
“Still, I’d say they’re getting along pretty well! Yang has been talking non-stop about that girl Blake. I think she might like her.”
“You should see them at school. Their ‘flirting’, if you can even call it that, is atrocious. They’ve been reprimanded so many times, I’ve lost count of all the professors who has come to complain to me about them.”
Summer hid her laugh behind her hand, “That’s Yang for you. You might have Qrow give her some lessons on how to talk to girls better!”
Just then, said avian man fell through the kitchen door, rubbing around his collarbone. “Man, that kid’s got one helluva grip these days.”
“Qrow! Oz and I were just talking about you. We were hoping you could give Yang some advice on girls. We think she might have a thing for her new teammate.”
Qrow quirked a curious brow, “That so? Man, our sunny little dragon’s growing up so damn fast. Already throwing her hat in the romance ring. Next thing you know, Ruby’s gonna start wearing high heels, of all things.”
Ozpin scoffed, “I highly doubt she would go that far.”
Summer laughed, “If I know one thing about my daughter, she would never be caught dead in those – what did she call them? ‘Stupid lady stilts?’’
Ozpin couldn’t help but laugh aloud, quickly clamping a hand over his mouth as soon as it came out.
“I’m going to go check on the girls. See if they need any more refreshments. Could you guys watch the things on the stove? Maybe give them a good stir once in a while so they don’t burn?”
Qrow saluted her, “Will do, Boss.”
“Thank you!” she chirped.
She untied her apron, tossed it on the back of a chair, and went out to the living room with a pitcher full of fruit tea. Ozpin breathed a sigh of relief, burying his head in his hands.
“Brothers, this is not how I imagined the night going,” he said.
“I know, but there’s not a lot we can do about it,” Qrow said, already taking over chef duty.
“Maybe…maybe we postpone the announcement for next time?”
“You sure?”
Ozpin nodded, “I wouldn’t want to make Weiss and Blake uncomfortable. This is their first time here, and I’m sure they already feel awkward with me being here. I don’t want to push any more boundaries tonight.”
Qrow nodded, “Alright. We’ll keep it chill. Though I think you’re being a little hard on yourself.”
“I’m their headmaster, Qrow. What if their progress goes down the gutter because I didn’t disclose our relationship–”
“You don’t have to ‘disclose’ anything to anybody,” Qrow said, turning his head back to him, “You weren’t there when Ruby and Yang’s files were being sent through, right? You weren’t there when their admissions letters were being looked over, and even if you did, I know you’d have only picked them because they trained hard and did their best. Not cause they’re your nieces. If you wanna tell them all that, that’s fine. But if I’m being honest, it doesn’t look like they care all that much. Hell, I’d say they’re still doing just fine.”
Ozpin perked up, ”Really?”
“Mhm. The Schnee girl’s still in shock, but she seems to be getting over it a little. I swear, she’s like a cartoon character with how dramatic she is.”
Ozpin chuckled, “Don’t let her hear you say that. She’d blow a top if she found you talking like this.”
Qrow smiled softly, “See? You’re feeling better already.”
Ozpin hummed, “Well, I wouldn’t say that. But, you did help alleviate some of my anxiety, so thank you for that.”
“It’s what I’m here for.”
Ozpin got up from his seat, walked over to Qrow, and wrapped him up in a hug from behind. Qrow chuckled, turning his head and placing a kiss on Ozpin’s cheek.
“I love you so much,” Ozpin said, burying his head into the nape of Qrow’s neck.
“I love you too, Oz,” Qrow replied with a laugh.
“I really do.”
“I know.”
“I’m really glad that we’re finally doing this.”
“Me too.”
“I love you.”
“You already said that, Oz.”
“Would you two stop being so disgustingly sweet in front of the food? You’re going to ruin my appetite?”
The couple whipped their heads in the direction of the new voice that entered from the back door. Qrow’s twin sister, Raven, looked them up and down with a bit of faux and real disgust.
Ozpin flushed red, “How long have you been standing there?”
“Long. Enough,” she replied, turning her attention to her brother, “Interesting to see you play househusband for once, Brother.”
Qrow shrugged, “What can I say? I’m a man of many talents.”
Raven rolled her eyes, “How long till dinner so I don’t end up losing my lunch?”
“Don’t know. I was just told to stop and stir until the Boss Lady comes back.”
Raven nodded. Something in her face changed. She quirked a curious brow and looked over Ozpin.
“Something wrong, Rae?”
“What were you two talking about before I came in here?”
Ozpin loosened his grip on Qrow, “Nothing important. Just the same old sappy romance stuff, as you and Qrow call it.”
Raven continued to stare at them with unconvinced eyes, slowly nodding, “Suuure.”
Without saying anything else, she walked past them and out into the living room to join the others. The couple exchanged foreboding glances.
“She knows,” Ozpin said grimly.
“We don’t know that,” Qrow argued, though something in his eyes told them both that that was likely untrue.
“You saw the way she was looking at us!” Ozpin whisper-shouted, “She knows.”
“She knows something. And it’s probably not about us. Maybe she’s just in a weird mood!”
Ozpin frowned, “You don’t honestly believe that, do you?”
“Look, even if she does know something - which she probably doesn’t - I don’t think she’d say anything in front of the others, especially with new people around.”
“I suppose you’re right…”
“It’s gonna be fine. We’ll get through this dinner and then next Friday or something, we’ll tell them for real. I’ll even sit next to Rae to make sure she doesn’t try anything.”
Ozpin sighed, “Okay, okay. This is fine. This. Is. Fine. Everything is going to be fine and I am not going to quit my job as Headmaster after tonight.”
“Right. Good job staying positive!”
Ozpin groaned, though he couldn’t be too upset.
Friday night dinners at the Xiao-Long Roses are usually full of surprises and the unexpected, and he was no exception to that.
No matter how hard he tried.

I love cloqwork as a romantic ship and i don't think Ozpin was much older than team STRQ, but it would be also funny and cute if their reconciliation goes something like this:
Qrow: you were the father i never had
Oscar: so you're my brother??
Qrow: what
Oscar: what
Ozpin: :')

What are some of your favorite Dadpin/Birb Dad/Cloqwork Family fics you've read?
Hello! So confession time. I actually don't read that many fics 😅 most of the fics I read it's because I'm already friends with the author.
I know that @theangelofangst has an amazing collection of Dadpin fics on AO3. One of my favorites is Know They Parent which is set in @bowl-of-shortness's Necromancer AU.
Speaking of which, the @rwby-necromancer-au also has a lot of Dadpin content. I think Morgan has a masterlist of fics on the blog if you want to browse :D
I also know that @spare-stories-archive has a lot of awesome Dadpin fics in their Fluffy Moments series on AO3.
Unfortunately, I can't think of any Birb Dad/Cloqwork family fics off the top of my head 😔 (except for a couple that I wrote myself, but that feels self serving so I won't add them here)
Sorry if this was minimally helpful, just wanted to share some of the fun things my friends have written. I do appreciate the ask a lot tho, I don't usually get asks on this blog so it was really nice 🙈 thank you!!!!! 💙

1 and 6 for HH! Ironwitch
And 8 and 13 for HH! Cloqwork
uwu enjoy bestie
Glynda: [reading] "Who fell in love first?"
James: [raises his hand] That would be me. Head over heels. And I'm not ashamed.
Glynda: And I admire that about you.
James: Yes, well [clears throat], "what everyday object or activity reminds you of each other?"
Glynda: Hm... That one's trickier. Probably cooking. James is a surprisingly good cook.
James: I will choose to ignore the "surprising" part and take that as a compliment.
Glynda: [smirking] As well you should.
James: For Glynda, I think it's actually her shoes. When I come home and see them by the door, I know she's already there, safe and sound. I find comfort in it.
Glynda: That's extremely sweet, I was not expecting that answer.
James: Now that's a surprise I'll take credit for.
Tumblr media
Qrow: [reading] "Do you get along with each other's family and friends?" Well, yeah. I don't have any friends outside of this place, and Oz gets along really well with my family. Although, that's not surprising. Oz gets along with everyone.
Mr. Oz: That's not entirely true. Mr. Watts would probably strongly disagree with that statement.
Qrow: What are you talking about? You two made up ages ago. He was just here the other day.
Mr. Oz: [shrugs] I digress. But yes, Qrow makes quite the impression on family and friends. My parents sure did take to you quite quickly.
Qrow: Yeah..... guess they did.....
Mr. Oz: [reading] "Does your relationship have the potential to be toxic, if it is usually healthy?" Well that's rather morbid [chuckles].
Qrow: Fuck, you got me. I don't even know how to make up an answer to this.
Mr. Oz: Well, I think all relationships have the potential to go sour at some point, even going so far as to become toxic if one isn't careful. But it depends on how the couple reacts that determines if they'll be able to get through it.
Qrow: But..... Do you..... Do you think we'd be able to- you know- get through it?
Mr. Oz: Given what we've already been through...... I think we'd find a way to recover....

The ubiquity of the song "Tightrope" from The Greatest Showman in the RWBY fandom is hilarious to me.
It gets used for a million different relationships, platonic, romantic, familial. For so many versions of relationships. But almost everyone seems to have at least a lyric from it for at least a ship on their blog.
I just find it funny and sweet. I'm not immune, I have it for a Cloqwork relationship, lol.

what’s your OTP when it comes to your muse?
what’s your NOTP when it comes to your muse?
is there a ship you used to like, but not anymore?
is there a ship you used to dislike, but now you like?
is there a ship you wanted to play, but couldn’t yet?
shipping q&a ** accepting
what’s your OTP when it comes to your muse?
paddles my lonely canoe of Qrow/Glynda. we only get crumbs but it’s enough for me to adore the dynamic they seem to have going. she calls him out for his nonsense yet doesn’t really shame him for it. they clearly have comfort fighting with one another under Oz. they have similar values as shown in their support of Oz/suspicion of Ironwood/teaching. the aesthetic of them both being magical in some way. the long history that has to have been there as the Vale inner circle members, possibly Beacon classmates. he’s loose and reckless and she’s responsible and strict and in ways that they could balance out without asking the other to change as a person, and ALSO they each have that little speck in each other. Qrow can be responsible and Glynda can be wild and reckless. they’re independent enough people to support the other’s independence. they’re equally headstrong and that makes for that good good fiery chemistry.  people are often all about the lord/retainer dynamic and I get it, but there’s also something special to me about retainer/retainer dynamics. Like ‘we love each other, but in mutual understanding that we also work together as a couple for this person’ and it makes the support that much stronger.
what’s your NOTP when it comes to your muse?
alcohol poisoning. i’m not against hateships, i also get that, but just personally I don’t want to write it and this muse has absolutely zero attraction whatsoever to anyone who’s actively working towards or has hurt his family. not even in a power move kinda way. and if you’re looking for enemies to actual romantic lovers, absolutely not. also i’d question your interpretation of Tyrian.
is there a ship you used to like, but not anymore?
i’m still a fan of cloqwork, but i started liking rosegarden more, and prefer not to think of them both being a thing in the same timeline, so rosegarden along with other choices for qrow kind of overtook that.
is there a ship you used to dislike, but now you like?
i used to prefer snowbird as a BROTP with more of a will they/won’t they frenemies flirtation, except it’s always, nah they don’t, actually. then @eiiskonigin came along adding way more depth than that to our muses’ interactions and a Winter who’s preferences nearly exactly match my muse’s preferences, and now i’m on more board with this one, even in a romantic sense sjhkhd.
is there a ship you wanted to play, but couldn’t yet?
i’ve had some starts with a Robyn, Glynda, and Ozpin but nothing that actually got fully fleshed out and established. qrow just takes so long to convince and feel comfortable with feelings. most people (or me) go inactive right before it gets there.

I got nothing so here’s my RWBY OC from a fanfic I’m gonna be hopefully updating soon…when things stop being busy.
Her name is Jade Arc.
An Arc you say 👀
Yes, yes I do say.
My theory is the Arc family is like the Bat family where they just adopt blonde blue eyed children named after colours.
Jaune is the huntsman after all I, just saying.
Anyway, Jade is a Faunus.
An Artic fox Faunus to be more precise, got white fluffy ears and she has 3 black brackets on both arms that I just imagine looking like Shadows inhibitor rings.
She grew up working in a Schnee dust mine where she learned to fend for herself and managed to get out and was adopted by the Arc’s. She’s very proud of her big brother Jaune.
Jade much like Oscar is very much the voice of reason in the group of her, Ella, Cole and Oscar. Especially those two considering there always competing over something and are more than happy to beat shit out of each other.
It’s fine their siblings.
And they actually get on.
Jade is just kinda like so there’s are my friends…neat. Very kind and perceptive and not afraid to throw down if needs be. She’s just here for the ride and loving it.

@ozqrowweek Day 4: The Beach Episode 🏖️
(just gonna jump straight into it because it's longer than I anticipated.)
The minute the car stopped, Ruby sped out of the backseat in a flurry of rose petals with her little red boogie board in hand and her trusty companion Zwei speeding right behind her in his little beach ball shorts. Weiss followed after her, trying (and failing) to scold her significant other on the mess she left in her speedy exit. Blake and Yang crawled out of the back with the cooler and Yang’s much longer surfboard as Taiyang went to pick up everything that Ruby had dropped.
Qrow and Ozpin pulled up soon after. They managed to catch Ruby flying up in the air, shouting “THE BEACH!!” at the top of her lungs.
Ozpin chuckled. “She seems excited.”
“Don’t see why she shouldn’t be. Been awhile since we’ve been back here all together like this,” Qrow said, turning back to his teens cramped in the back, “What about you guys? You excited to see your cousins?”
“Mmhmm!” Maylea exclaimed, chomping down on the last bit of her orange creamsicle.
Oscar was too distracted with all of his beach things and their youngest, Garnet, had her face buried in a book but by the way her shoulders scrunched in and how her knees were pressed to her chest, she didn’t seem too pleased to be there.
“Garnet? Are you okay, love?” Ozpin asked.
“Can I stay in here until we go back to the house? I can walk too if that makes it better.”
“G, we’re not leaving you in a hot car and we’re for sure not letting you walk all by yourself. That’s like basic parenting 101.”
“Please?”
“I thought you were excited to see Ruby and Yang again?” Oscar said, “Haven’t seen them since the Vytal Festival in March.”
“I was until I realized they were bringing all of their friends and junk with them,” She pulled her hood down lower on her face.
“You’re lucky it’s just JNPR. I heard Ruby wanted to invite team SSSN, team CFVY, team–”
“Not helping, May.”
“Right, sorry.”
“Why don’t you at least say hi? We’ll be right beside you the whole time.”
She sucked her teeth, “I don’t know. They’re all going to be romantic and sweet and stuff–”
“I’m sure they will have enough restraint to say hi and spend time with their cousins, '' Ozpin said, adding a small, “At least, I hope they will.”
“Mmm…okay. I’ll…I’ll go.”
“Yes!”
“Alright, family beach trip back on track! Oscar, you get the cooler, I’ll get the grill, Nettie, try and keep your sister away from the rest of the ice cream ‘til after lunch.”
“Hey!”
The Branwen-Pine family finally piled out of the car. Team Rwby had already gotten settled in their respective areas. Ruby was having a water gun fight with Weiss (who was losing miserably), Blake was under an umbrella with her favorite fantasy book, and Yang and Taiyang were busy setting up the volleyball net.
Oscar and Maylea ran ahead, dumping all of their belongings onto the sand and only grabbing the ‘important’ items before running into the water to join in the water fight.
Ozpin rolled his eyes as he collected whatever they had dropped and set up their stuff beside Taiyang’s.
“Uncle Qrow!” Yang exclaimed, “Uncle Oz! Good to see ya!”
“Took you guys long enough,” Taiyang said.
“We had a bit of trouble getting Nettie outta the car. You know, a lotta people coming and stuff.”
“Is that why she isn’t here?”
The two exchanged a puzzled glance before looking behind them. Garnet was still standing on the hill where their cars were parked. Her still state however didn’t seem to be from a place of anxiety but a place of new found serenity.
“Looks like she’s feelin’ better already.”
“The ocean air did always clear her senses. She’s been needing to go out somewhere that isn’t the school or our land.”
“YO! G! You wanna play volleyball when Nora and them get here!”
Garnet gave an unsure thumbs up before starting to make her way down to the sand.
Qrow slinked his arm around Ozpin’s waist and pulled him close, “See? She’s getting out of her shell more. Pretty soon, once the whole ‘Salem being a thing’ thing dies down, she’ll make more friends of her own.”
Ozpin hummed, “I hope. She’s a good child. Anyone would be lucky to have her around.”
“The others seem to like her a lot. Nora especially.”
“Are we so sure that’s a good thing?”
Qrow chuckled into the crook of Ozpin’s neck. “C’mon, cut the kid some slack. Yeah she blew up the dust lab a couple times–”
“12. 12 times, Qrow.”
“But, hey. She makes Nettie laugh.”
Qrow pressed kisses up and down his neck. Ozpin laughed while Tai sighed.
“You two always find ways to rub your relationship in my face, huh?”
“Oh, you know it,” Qrow said, trying to playfully smack Ozpin’s ass but he quickly grabbed his hand.
“Not in front of the children, dear.”
“Right. Kids. We have those now.”
Tai rolled his eyes, “Now that you’re done with whatever that was, can you please help me set up the grill.”
“Of course, Tai.”
And so, the day went on. Team JNPR finally showed up – apparently when they stopped at a nearby gas station, Nora just had to grab every snack on the shelves. Tai and Ozpin got the grill started up (mainly thanks to Ozpin and his magic) as the kids began their volleyball game. Garnet was more hesitant than before but after some coaxing from Yang, she left the beach blanket with Blake and joined the others. It ended up becoming a 1v1 with Yang and Nora the entire game (they were always so competitive when it came to each other) and it continued on to lunch with a contest of who could gorge themselves on the biggest rack of ribs after the volleyball game ended in a tie (or at least that’s what they had to tell them so they wouldn’t rip each other’s heads off.) Most of them went in the water to escape Tai’s awful dad jokes. Nora got a cramp and nearly drowned. Blake, Yang, and Garnet were chilling out on land but Garnet must have sensed that they wanted to be alone so she decided to head off to the other side of the beach, much to the chagrin of her fathers.
“I’m just going to check out the other side of the beach for a few minutes. I’ll be fine.”
“I dunno, G…”
“You let me go out on my own all the time back home.”
“Well, Garnet, that's because we have people nearby to ensure your safety.”
“And? There are people here who are trained to attack on sight if anything goes wrong. I’m trained to attack on sight if anything goes wrong.”
“I suppose that’s true…”
“So, I can go?”
They exchanged a glance before sharing a nod. “Yes, you may go. But only for 10 minutes.”
“And keep your scroll on you.”
“And yell if something happens!”
“I will!” She took off running in the other direction with an odd amount of enthusiasm that she didn’t initially have.
“She’s hiding something, isn’t she?”
Qrow nodded in agreement. “Yep. Don’t know what but hey, at least we know she can’t cap size the place even if she wanted to.”
“Should we follow her?”
“In a miinute. I wanna walk for a second.”
“Okay? Lead the way.”
Qrow took Ozpin’s hand and led him away to the opposite side until the group became just mere dots.
“It’s pretty nice out here, huh?” Qrow said.
“It is. Almost makes me want to stay for a couple months. Not go back to school for a while. Though I doubt it would sit well with Glynda and the others.”
Qrow shrugged. “She’s done better with worse.”
Ozpin chuckled. “Yes, I suppose you’re right.”
They stopped. Qrow moved in front of Ozpin, taking both of his hands.  “Hey.”
“Hi?”
“So, I uh, wanted to ask you something…kinda important.”
“Okay? And that would be?”
Qrow caressed his knuckles, “So…you know how we’ve been together for a while now, right? And we have these kids and the war’s pretty much over and–”
“Qrow,” Ozpin raised a brow, smirking, “Are you trying to ask me to marry you again?”
“Ah, pretty much? With everything that’s happened and all the shit we went through, well–I thought we could use something like this,” He dug into his short pocket and pulled out a silver wedding band engraved with intricate leaf designs. Ozpin’s smirk curled into a sweet smile as Qrow got down on one knee, “Man, I’m more nervous than when I first asked you this.”
“Take your time, dear.”
Qrow took a deep breath, “Okay; Ozpin Pine, father and occasional teacher of my children, love of my life – will you marry me? Again? Until the next threat to the world comes and tries to rip us apart both literally and metaphorically?”
Ozpin laughed, “Yes, yes! Of course I’ll marry you, my dust old Qrow!”
He lunged forward and threw his arms around him. “H-Hey! Careful! Your ring!” Ozpin didn’t listen. He instead peppered his face with kisses until he settled on his lips with a long, soft kiss. Qrow laughed, pressing his forehead to Ozpin’s.
“So we’re really doing this again, huh?”
“I suppose we are.”
“Should we tell the kids?”
Ozpin looked behind them, seeing Maylea running towards them with Garnet and Yang following in tow. “I believe they have something to tell us.”
“DAD! PAPA! Garnet has a girlfriend!” Maylea screamed.
“DO NOT!”
“Oh, you so have a girlfriend!” Yang replied.
The two exchanged a surprised glance.
“So…we tell them after we deal with this?”
“Sounds like a plan.”
(thank God it managed to fit. Had to cut out a bunch of stuff before posting so if it seems kinda unfinished that's why.)

Imagine if in vol 8 Oscar comes across the blood puddle left in the snow and he begins having a panic attack, so Ozpin tells him to breathe but then they discover something, like maybe a piece of clothing that make them think Qrow is the one who lost all that blood
And then OZPIN is the one who starts to panic

How an Angel Gets Its Wings
Chapter 18: A Thousand Burning Suns
Story Summary: Aaliyah Branwen-Cael has a lot to live up to.  Both of her fathers are renowned huntsmen- fighters of unbelievable skill.  Her brother is nothing short of a prodigy, making fighting and leadership look easy.  One of her cousins is the youngest student to ever graduate from Beacon Academy, and her other relatives aren't exactly pushovers.  So where does that leave Ali?  After all, she's just a scared little girl in comparison.  And the kicker?  She's getting ready to enter Beacon with her semblance still marked as "unknown."
Chapter Summary: Time is flying by, and the Beacon Ball is already upon us. Team AAZL gets ready for a night of formal fun, but not all of them seem excited for the activities.
Relationship(s): Cloqwork Family, Parent-Child, Adopted Siblings, Childhood Friends
Categories: Found Family, Childhood, Next Gen
Chapter(s): 18/21
Author’s Note: Now this chapter has been planned since the beginning and I’m so happy to finally have reached this point in the story!  I’m a little nervous to post it, since it’s been built up in my head so much, but I think it came out really well!  Hope anyone who reads enjoys! :)

drabble idea where qrow and ozpin adopt oscar. one day, oscar, still young and a toddler, is outside and a bird comes up to him. the bird has beautiful black feathers, red eyes, and a sharp beak; a raven. the raven stays a bit longer and entertains the small boy until oz and qrow find oscar and bring him inside.
