hyunjin! i've almost always been pulled in by the dancer (lee know i know but) specifically the style of dance hyunjin excels in. the isolation is so satisfying and cool. for some reason choreo always gets a song stuck in my head??

But also!! I had heard they produced their own music and that really got me interested in kpop again

who was your first bias?

chris bang 🤍 went from zero to ult within no more than two days tbh…

what makes them your current bias?

oh god. um. i'll put this in the least embarrassing way possible. (this is a kpop tumblr blog I should probably get over it)

it was a particularly bad year. i stumbled upon their silly videos (thank you stay for the edits<3) and they made me laugh. then i started seeing clips of chans room and him interacting with the boys and just like... he's so wonderful. he's generous and kind and loving and thoughtful. just a shy lil guy who also happens to be a flirt and a fucking dork and it's cute man idk shut upp

who is your bias wrecker?

i was certain i'd never have one, i truly adore each of those boys so so much.

i was however proven wrong after a very sweet, silly compilation of binnie being ridiculous. followed by a face cam of his sclass performance in the supreme jersey?? and the curls?? he has such amazing stage presence and he's a great dancer. but he kept going from his cute sweet binnie expressions looking like he was just so into it and having fun, to the "dark rapper" eyes and commanding stage presence. and like, wow. 🖤 i am a sucker for that kind of duality.

which members are you currently obsessing over that aren't your bias/wrecker?

in another reality han is my wrecker. that boy is the epitome of what i used to look for in guys: babygirl. lol. well, and insanely talented and funny and everything. I adore him

after befriending a couple seungmin stans, i started looking for pics and clips to send them and found myself so incredibly impressed with him and touched by some of the things he's said and done. plus he’s a funny little shit.

hwang hyunjin is such a sweet boy. since we got producer jinnie on the last album i have been looking back and just so impressed with his growth 🤍

when did you first discover the group?

(Upon editing I realize I read this as ‘how’ but oh well)

okokok so

i was a kpop fan 2014-2017 and went all in. kcon and concerts the whole thing

but then i was just on my usual 6 hour yt shorts binge as i tried to fall asleep and saw skz reacting to the "your eyes" mv, specifically felix's part, obviously. i watched it like 12 times just cry laughing at han screaming, hyunjin trying to escape, channie hiding behind his hands and squealing. it was just so funny to see a group kind of clowning their own shit? i thought they were hilarious.

then i saw julien (solomita) had reacted to 'topline' and i was soooo into it. immediately went to watch some mvs and decided cool i'll be a totally normal casual fan of this group’s music….. :)

THEN a lovely lady i'd followed on my 10 year old tumblr account posted about skz. i messaged her that I’d finally decided to check them out and she was kind enough to answer questions and entertain my onslaught of messages as I screamed about how much I love these boys. and she still does everyday so. thank you hana 🌸

Hall of fame. bitch ever since that live stage (which was the first time I’d heard it) I’ve listened to the sclass album 3 times a week no joke, goddamn it’s so good. so just know, i pulled almost every song from that album off this list when i made cuts

Your taste in music vexes me.

It's very simple.

I grew up being pseudo-raised by a family down the street and we 50% listened to average American radio (so 90s/2000s Big Music) and 50% listened to raggaeton and other radio stations that were only in Spanish, which no one ever translated for me (I was the only one who didn't speak Spanish), so the songs stayed in my heart all my life but... I had no real way to find them. The specific songs are lost to the passage of time but the influence on my taste remains.

Then I'd go home and my mom would play Enya. And then left my dad for a man who would take her to The B 52s concerts. So, that was my home life. Also, my dad would bring home cds people left behind on the greyhound bus he drove, so I got SUPER into Brandy's Full Moon album and Eiffel 65's Europop.

And then I got into anime at a young age, so both Jpop and meme music got into the mix via anime OP/EDs but also AMVs. But I wanted to kill myself, so I listened to emo music (we can argue whether or not this stuff counts as emo but at the time!! it was) , preferring stuff like Hawthorne Heights but also more metal offerings (which is probably the anime influence, lots of AMVs actually skewed towards "harder" stuff than like... FOB and MCR).

That was all of high school, then in college I realized I wanted to fuck several members of One Direction, so I got really into them and then got into a british radio show which introduced me to The Klaxons, Everything Everything, Laura Mvula, and more. But also, Dubstep was really big... and I was a binge drinker in college, so of course I was into that.

Also in college, I got into video games as well, in a way I hadn't been for years, so picked up Utada Hikaru again and then got into instrumental soundtracks. Through Utada, I rediscovered my love for 90s/early 2000s R&B. And decided to explore more current offerings.

This was amplified by the fact that I was ALSO getting into kpop (as a natural offshoot of my Jpop interest) and had frustrations with the "rap" in the songs and wanted... actually good rap and hip hop. So, I swerved a lot into exploring actual hip hop and not the fun house mirror hip hop that the kpop industry was offering.

All of this is curated by my unmedicated ADHD which demands high energy music and they all collided into a musical open mindedness which makes me willing to try anything.

Other notable events/influences:

I lived with a guitarist who would practice all the time and talk about his inspirations and stuff

Living in Vermont in general

Listening to people just cause they're gay (I have stopped doing this but it did influence me)

Really cannot reiterate enough how much AMVs influenced my taste in music. My entire preference for EDM probably stems from late 2000s AMV culture

Favourite Holiday:

Easter! 🐰🥚🌸 Because chocolate. I’m ADDICTED to the stuff! 🍫 Also, Spring is one of my favourite seasons. I just love seeing nature come back to life and seeing more wildlife more often after a long winter period. It brings me so much joy every single time. 😌

Last Meal:

I’ve just eaten homemade toad-in-the-hole for linner (dinner at lunchtime). It was deeeeelicious! 🤤😋

Current Favourite Musician:

Depeche Mode. I fell in love with them ever since they released their latest album Memento Mori (2023). I pretty much binged the whole of their discography on Spotify last year out of sheer curiosity and I’ve now become strangely obsessed with them as a result. I’ve recently learned that fans of DM are called “Devotees”, soooo yeah. I’m a Devotee now! Whoopsie! 🌹🎹

Last Music Listened To:

Meet Me In The Woods by Lord Huron. I like me a good folk rock song to keep me going. This song was just so pleasant to listen to. Plus, it’s very catchy. I couldn’t get it out of my head after listening to it.

Last Movie Watched:

I watched The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018) with my parents on Netflix a couple of weeks ago. For those who don’t know, it’s an anthology film of sorts containing many different stories centred around the Wild West. My dad recommended it to me as he likes watching films made by the Coen Brothers. I don’t have a lot to say about it other than I really enjoyed it. I’m a film buff and I usually have a lot to say about the films I’ve just seen, so having that happen to me was really odd. 🤔

Last TV Show Watched:

I don’t watch a lot of TV and I don’t keep up to date with any shows, so I don’t know if what I’ve put down counts.

I recently finished watching the Fernando (2020–) docuseries on Amazon Prime and I loved it. 🤩 It’s mainly about Fernando Alonso and the many adventures he got up to during his 2-year retirement from F1. It’s really interesting!

Last Book/Fic Finished:

The last book I read was The Bourne Identity by Robert Ludlum and the last fic I read was a Chalex fic called I Can Feel The Sun On You by mintchocolatechip97.

Last Book/Fic Abandoned:

The book I abandoned quite swiftly was a Dave Grohl autobiography my uncle and auntie got me for Christmas. I was never a Foo Fighters listener and I’m not a Foo Fighters fan. I still have no idea why they thought I’d like it. Sorry to the people who like them, they’re just not for me. 🙁

Currently Reading:

A Pocketful Of Happiness by Richard E. Grant. It’s such a sweet, tender, and heartbreaking autobiography that highlights how he got into acting and how he met and fell in love with his acting coach Joan Washington. ❤️

Last Thing Researched for Writing/Art/Hyperfixation:

“sebastian vettel mark webber 2010 monaco”. Just seeing pictures of these two smiling and hugging each other makes me smile. 🥰 I was also psyching myself up for this week’s F1 Watch Party on Discord, which, funnily enough, will be streaming the 2010 Monaco Grand Prix this Sunday. I can’t wait!!!! 🏎️💨🏁

Favourite Fandom Online Memory:

I love making friends through their interests in the fandom. The F1 community is massive, so it was easy for me to make friends online and in person as a result. I can feel comfortable being weird around them and in turn they can feel comfortable being weird around me. 🥰🥰🥰

Favourite Old Fandom You Wish Would Drag You Back In/Have A Resurgence:

I used to love the Merlin fandom when it was popular. I still do, but not as strongly as I used to.

Favourite Thing You Enjoy That Never Had an Active or Big “Fandom” But You Wish It Did:

Hmmm, this is a tough question. I’m not fussed with how popular my fandom choices are. If I had to choose one though, I’d say The Beatles. I think a lot of RPFs about certain bands and singers don’t get as much attention as, say, Formula 1 or Super Mario or Supernatural do.

Tempting Project You’re Trying To Rein In/Don’t Have Time For:

I really want to post some more fanfics on AO3, make some more banners on InShot, and do some video editing and gif making on CapCut, but I’m incredibly slow at doing all of them because college work keeps getting in the way of my plans. 😵‍💫 I hardly have enough free time to do any of them. Don’t worry though, I haven’t abandoned them altogether. I will get them done eventually! 🤞🏻

tag nine people you'd like to know better

I. favourite colours: red, always been my favourite.

II. favourite flavours: Loving asian dishes at the moment; teriyaki stir-fry, ramen, gyoza, chili-oil noodles.

III. favourite genres: Action and fantasy mostly. I'm such a wimp, I'm useless when it comes to horror.

IV. favourite music: At the moment, I'm OBSESSED with Epic: The Ocean Saga. It's a concept musical by Jorge Rivera-Herrans based on the Odyssey and tells Odysseus' journey from Troy and his attempts to get back home. The previous albums are the Troy Saga and the Cyclops Saga and they are amazing!!!! If you have a moment, definitely give them a listen.

V. favourite movies: I adore the original Beauty and the Beast, my all-time favourite movie. But I also really love Pretty Woman, as cliché as that sounds.

VI. favourite series: Oh, it changes depending on what's new at the moment and what I can binge. Yellowstone, Supernatural, The Boys, the new Percy Jackson at the moment is really hitting a vibe. Also adore The Sandman and House of the Dragon. The Last of Us goes without saying too.

VII. last song: Ruthlessness from Epic: The Ocean Saga. Seriously obsessed with this track and Steven Rodriguez who voices Poseidon.

VIII. last series: Percy Jackson and The Olympians on Disney+. (definitely helps that Toby Stephens is cast as Poseidon.)

IX. last movie: The last film I watched was Forrest Gump on New Year's Even, because I quite like the movie and my mam and sis had never actually seen it.

X. currently reading: The Gift of Fear by Gavin De Becker. An interesting and deep look into the signs our body gives us when we're in danger and how to recognise them and learn to trust them.

XI. currently watching: At the moment, I'm not watching anything, just binging Frontiers of Pandora on my PS5.

XII. currently working on: I'm still very slowly working on a fanfiction I've been writing since I was 17 in the YuGiOh fandom called Paper Roses. I didn't update for 4 years, but then finally got my arse into gear and back into writing. It's been rewritten over the years, but I'm doing a final overall rewrite of old chapters and slowly working on a new one for all the lovely readers who have stuck by me for so many years.

Time was passing quicker and quicker lately.

The days became weeks and the weeks became months. It was hard to keep track with all the working you did.

Your current project was an updated gun made specially for the field commander of the STRIKE team. He was going on a special-ops mission with Agent Romanoff and Steve Rogers.

It looked like your run-of-the-mill machine gun, only you had added a special setting for stunning, meaning not every shot needed to be lethal if it didn't have to be. You carried this weapon throughout the SHIELD halls, finding Rumlow talking to some of his team.

"Rumlow." You called to get his attention.

He turned to face you. "Campbell."

"I've got the upgrades you wanted."

"Alright." He turned back to the team and said something you couldn't make out before walking over. "Thanks for this, Campbell."

"No problem, Striker." You handed him the gun. "Turn the dial to blue and bada-bing bada-boom, you got yourself a stun gun. Just turn it back for bullets."

"Got it. You know, you should join a few of these operations. We could use your brains in the field."

You scoffed. "No, thanks. I've had my fair share of the 'field'. The lab is where I belong."

As you grabbed your stuff and shut down the lab for the day, you noticed Agent Romanoff talking with Agent Barton. Even though both worked with your dad, you assumed they had no idea who you were and kept your head down to keep it that way. Your secret was becoming harder to contain, but you were managing.

You didn't catch a lot of their conversation, only something about the mission Natasha was going on with Steve and the STRIKE team. She sounded concerned.

The days were grueling in the warehouse.

You didn't know how much sleep you'd lost working on your new AI, but it was enough to wind up on a coffee shortage. In total, about four mugs were lined up at your workstation. But you were finally finished.

"How we looking, FRIDAY?" You asked aloud, kicking your feet up.

"Project: Ultron is fully functional, miss."

"Ah, look at me. Genius, I am."

"Very much so."

You smirked to yourself and turned down the music you were listening to - Ozzy's Bark At The Moon album - just as a loud telephone line began to ring in the warehouse.

"Incoming call from an encrypted line." FRIDAY said.

Your brows furrowed. "Can you decrypt it?"

A pause.

"I'm afraid not, miss."

"Alright." You sighed and answered whoever it was. "Look, if this is a scam call, shove it up your ass."

"Charmed, Campbell." An all too familiar voice said.

"Fury?" You questioned.

He didn't sound too good, his tone was lower than usual and there was a hint of pain in his voice.

"You good? You sound beat." You said.

"Look, we don't have much time. I need you to get Loki's scepter."

"Eh?" You sat up straight, even more confused. "What's going on?"

"SHIELD is compromised."

Your voice faltered. "What?"

You knew that despite reinventing your whole life, SHIELD archives probably held a sample of who you used to be. If it was compromised, that meant somebody could find out.

"It's HYDRA. Agent Sitwell and STRIKE, probably others. Don't trust anyone."

HYDRA...

"If you say so."

"Yeah, I do. Good luck out there."

You began to backtrack, heading back to your lab. That was all your work done now. Well, SHIELD work anyway. You still had a home project you were working on.

Ultron.

It was still locked away in your warehouse. It was done, it had been for months now, but just because something seemed finished, it didn't mean it couldn't be perfected. That was something you remembered your dad saying a couple times. It was one of the things that stuck with you.

You remembered finding your grandfather's journals and the way he talked about them... They ruined so many lives. You also thought back to the day where you flirted your way into getting the scepter off of Sitwell and cringed.

"How did this happen, Fury?"

"It doesn't matter. Captain Rogers and Agent Romanoff are being targeted, as am I, and maybe even you. It's the Winter Soldier."

You raised a brow. "The Winter who?"

"HYDRA's trained assassin. Look, just get the scepter before they do and wait for my instructions. Remember, don't trust anyone."

Before you could ask anything else, the line disconnected. You were left speechless, wondering how everything had gone wrong.

The scepter...

It was at the Triskelion in DC.

A multitude of thoughts were racing through your head. How did SHIELD become compromised? Was it really HYDRA? Was there an assassin possibly after you? Would you be able to get to DC in time? Was Fury okay?

You sighed. "Shit."

You stood from your chair, pacing a little as a plan quickly formed in your head. It wasn't much of a plan, but at least you had something. But, first, you needed to hide Ultron.

You went to the computers and compiled all the data files and algorithms onto one singular memory drive. Once that part was done, you took the drive and stashed it away in a hidden compartment for safe keeping. And, now that Ultron was safely packed away, you'd need a fast way to get to the capital.

And you knew just the car to take.

- You drove like a bat out of hell in order to get to the Triskelion in time.Things seemed so normal there it was actually disconcerting. The people were walking around as they chatted away, security seemed to be doing their jobs, no one looked suspicious at all. You got a few looks, especially since you hadn't been to the HQ in a few weeks, but thankfully you went mostly unnoticed and blended in with the other people. With Fury's call fresh in your mind, your paranoia was dialed up and even scanning your ID badge felt like a target was suddenly glowing on your back. You went straight to your lab there, trying to be as subtle as you could while also watching out for Sitwell and STRIKE. Once you were in, you immediately went to a locked storage unit at the back of the room and found all your weapons. A gun, a watch that shot sleep darts, smoke bombs, acid balls, and the pencil shocker you showed Harley to name a few. You equipped them all. "Okay..." You took a moment to breathe, realizing this next part would be the hardest. "He better be giving me a pay rise after this." You went over to your computer and decided to search for the level that contained Loki's scepter. After a bit of hacking here and deception there, you got into the highly classified files. Naturally, it needed a clearance level you didn't have. But that was easily remedied. You just reconstructed the circuits in your ID to recognize you as level 8 which was what was needed. It did take twenty minutes to figure out, but you got it regardless."Alright." You slowly nodded to yourself, placing the new badge around your neck. "Got weapons, hacked SHIELD, re-coded the badge. I guess it's scepter time." As you left, you noticed various boards on the walls depicting the countdown for the launch of Project Insight. You believed it was to help SHIELD eliminate threats to the population, but of course now it was probably something much darker. When you finally arrived at the labs and conned your way into the holding room, you were faced with three scientists, only ones that looked a lot meaner and more deadly than you did. Fury had warned you about this. You couldn't trust them. "How did you get in?" One asked. "Who are you?" Another asked right after. They had their hands reaching for weapons so you simply got their first, directing your gun at the meanest looking one. In retaliation, they revealed their own guns. "Put your toys down." You told them. "Call the guards." One scientist told his colleagues. But the second another went to move, you pulled the trigger on him and nailed the ground right in front of him. He yelled in surprise and quickly backed up before you could shoot him for real. Even you were surprised you actually did it. "That's a warning." You said, forcing yourself to remain calm. "Now step aside." With a worried glance, the three did as they were asked. You picked up a case hidden behind them, and, still on guard, you clicked it open. The scepter, in all its glowstick of destiny glory, was tucked inside. With a nod, you shut the case again and pointed your gun at the scientists again. They seemed too afraid to make a move. But before you could leave, the PA in the room suddenly crackled to life. "Attention all SHIELD agents, this is Steve Rogers." You stopped immediately to listen. "You've heard a lot about me over the last few days. Some of you were even ordered to hunt me down. But I think it's time you know the truth. SHIELD is not what we thought it was. It's been taken over by HYDRA. Alexander Pierce is their leader. The STRIKE and Insight crew are HYDRA as well. I don't know how many more, but I know they're in the building. They could be standing right next to you. They almost have what they want. Absolute control. They shot Nick Fury. And it won't end there. If you launch those helicarriers today, HYDRA will be able to kill anyone that stands in their way. Unless we stop them. I know I'm asking a lot, but the price of freedom is high. It always has been. And it's a price I'm willing to pay. And if I'm the only one, then so be it. But I'm willing to bet I'm not."

After the PA cut out, you felt something burn inside you. It was a sudden passion to defend and protect the world you knew, to take down HYDRA and help the captain stop their plan.

"Damn, he's good." You mumbled, slowly putting your gun down.

- Way above, completely unbeknownst to you, Pierce and Fury were having a chat of their own.As Natasha was overriding SHIELD data to expose HYDRA and the helicarriers steadily rose up in the background, she could hear the two discussing something very interesting. "Keeping secrets from me was not a wise thing to do." Fury was saying. "You would know all about secrets, wouldn't you?" Pierce replied. "But this infiltration wasn't all HYDRA had to hide." "Considering you're just about done, I don't think revealing any more secrets matters, do you?" "Trust me, you'll want to hear this one, Nick." The man smirked, seemingly proud of himself. "Do you remember Tony Stark's daughter?" Those in the room went dead silent. "She's missing." Fury stated. "Most likely dead." "You and I both know that's a lie." Pierce said."Do we?" "We do. You see, I had a friend a long time ago named Obadiah Stane. He was a good man, strong and loyal to HYDRA. He told me all about her once she discovered the plan to kill Tony in Afghanistan. You wanna know the biggest secret of them all?"

A few floors below, you were watching pure chaos unfold in the Triskelion.

Steve's speech had genuinely inspired you. It made you realize that you were done hiding. For too many years you'd hidden in the shadows and pretended to be someone you weren't. For too many years you'd been afraid to face the truth and embrace who you were. For too many years the world had known the wrong you. It was time to correct that.

It was time to let them know just who in the hell they were really dealing with. "FRIDAY, hack the comms." You instructed. "Give them a visual." "Yes, miss." She replied, doing exactly as you asked. It took a minute to gain the entire building in your control, but eventually you assured that every speaker in the Triskelion and every screen displayed your voice and image. For the first time in years, people were about to see the real you. You started with a clap. "Thank you, Captain America, for that inspiring speech of yours." You said with a smile. "It made me not want to run like a scared little chicken. Again, thank you!" You took a deep breath before going on. "So, I know it's scary being held hostage by these guys, but I know they don't want to kill you. Not yet anyway. Because I have something a little better. Something that you've all been missing." You opened the case in your hands and revealed the scepter to the camera. "Loki's staff. I know you bitches have been missing this since... Well, since I stole it from one of your agents so long ago. I stole it and I kept it safe. Now who am I you may ask. Last song: Gravity Lies by Red. I'm actually binge-listening to the entire album again -- it's my favourite by this band. (I'm considering designing a tattoo inspired by "The Ever", which is probably my favourite song of all time...)

Favorite colour: Blue! With a great fondness for purple and green too.

Currently watching: Uhhhh... I am awful with watching things. The last movie I watched was RED. Show-wise (that's not Bluey or the Wiggles. Can you tell I live with a toddler?)? I think I started Good Omens S2 and then dropped off the radar for that one.

Sweet/Savory/Spicy: Sweet!

Relationship status: Just actually started dating a guy a couple of weeks ago! He's lovely, and his dogs (two BIG puppers -- a Rottie cross and a Malamute wolfdog) adore me. =D

Current Obsession: The Gale Dekarios costume I'm working on for the comic expo next weekend! (All I have left to do is the buckles on his robe, and buying new pants, and making a satchel!) Outside of that, BG3 in general now owns my soul.

Last thing I googled: "discord emojis baldur's gate". Listen, I had a need for the little icon of Astarion's "happy" fangs for a reaction to a comment... (Did I find that particular emoji? Nope.)

6. Describe your dream home. Honestly pretty close to my current one. It's Relatively compact, but has a spacious balcony you can properly go outside on. I think i'd prefer to live with less other people but I can go either way. I'd love a bit of a bigger living room, one that's not cramped when trying to play ttprgs . In general I think I like things to be just big enough, but not too big. I think my dream would be a balcony facing the sunset, somewhere I can sip tea, eat biscuits, and watch the sunset.

8. What’s your favorite show to binge?

High key I find binge watching pretty stressful. The only long series of full length tv I can think I've properly binged is Breaking Bad. Which is amazing but that's not a hot take. "Binging" for me is mostly watching a 12 episode anime in like 2 days, which isn't actually a big binge. But in that case it's Yuru Camp my beloved, I've at least watched it, like, multiple times!

23. Who are five of your favorite bands/musical artists?

Lately I've unfortunately caught "listens to VGM" disease and been been mostly listening to the Guilty Gear OST which I mean out of all OSTs is one of the less embarrassing but still I need to get back into listening to a variety of bands.... remembering song and band names is hard for me tho. But! I'll give 5 of my faves here, mostly focusing to ones I don't think most people will know but there's a mixture:

Hemlocke Springs, apparently she got famous through tiktok? Anyway her music is such a vibe I love it

Smiling Broadly/Twinkle Park, I feel like the you and probably most of the kinds of people that follow me know Hazel the anime youtuber, well she makes music and I've been really into it lately.

Astrophysics, he's a synth guy on youtube. Love both his own stuff and his Miku covers, though I think I found him through his JoJo's synth covers. Still need to listen to his new album. A lot of his own stuff is a bit more breakcore-ey so it can be hit or miss for me but when it hits it hits.

Covet, a math rock band. Math rock is always super chill to me, I need to start listening to it more again.

MARINA, far from obscure but I ran out of more obscure ideas. Her older stuff is just, The Vibe, I'm obsessed.... I should do it at Karaoke next time I go to it!

34. What’s your coffee order?

I haven't ever actually tried coffee.... but I like bitter drinks so I should try it!!!

609 Bedtime Story - Well that was a way to end it I guess. I did like how they resolved things with Mint, but I was hoping she’d figured out the connection between Mum and Dew. But that would mean talking about the parallel world again and they apparently decided that the entire conceit of the show didn’t matter anymore after ep 9. I’m so annoyed. (Edit: I just found out there is an alternate ending airing next week; most likely an ‘unhappy’ ending. What are you doing, show? I’m not even mad about it, just more confused.)

A League of Nobleman - The show I’m enjoying the most this week. I didn’t expect such gorgeous visuals in a historical mystery that isn’t a fantasy. There’ve been two mysteries so far and the second one involved a serial killer. I enjoyed the heck out of that arc. I have affectionately nicknamed Zhang Ping ‘Eyebrows’ in my head because those are some fantastic ones he’s sporting. Kudos to the makeup team.

The Lost Tomb (2015) - Binged most of season one last night and I’m hooked. This is amazing. Also, surprise Yang Yang! (I’d forgotten why it was on my watchlist, so he must be why.) The quality level is about late 90s/early 2000s but that was early fandom in my life, so nostalgia is hitting me hard. I’m having a great time with this one.

The New Employee - Seven episodes feels like a weird episode count for a series, but okay - I watched the last two episodes back to back and loved how they ended it. I do find it interesting however, that we never saw the ex/crush again after he was the trigger for the main relationship blip. It felt like they were going to take that further. I probably should have waited to binge this in one go, because I had completely forgotten that there was a manager who could cause trouble until he caused trouble. These short form dramas are generally pretty frustrating to watch because I can clearly see a longer (usually better) show around them. This one did feel complete, but I’m hoping they release a movie version.

609 Bedtime Story, ep 11 - “The kissing sounds don’t match the video?!” (This show botched the ending so bad, in multiple ways. This particular way made me laugh though.)

A League of Nobleman, ep 6 - “Surprise serial killer! Neat!”

My School President, ep 9 - “Gun and Tinn’s little scene on the beach while spying on Sound gave me major ‘future old married couple’ feelings.” (And now I want to read that future fic where Gun is home on break from touring and teasing his doctor husband into relaxing after a stressful shift.)

Never Let Me Go, ep 8 - “That was an extremely ominous music cue to tag the bathroom confrontation scene with.” (Up until that last moment it felt like any other scene in this show, but the music change elevated it and made it seem like Ben was going to come back and murder the kid. It threw me out of the scene it was such a jarring escalation. I may go back and watch it again, to see how it feels on rewatch.)

1: book you’ve reread the most times?

Ohhh, good question! I'm not sure, but I think it might be a three-way tie between Neuromancer, Dune, and The Name of the Wind. I know I burned through The Lies of Locke Lamora at least twice, because it felt the most like rewatching a favorite movie, and Caves of Steel because it's got the best premise any novel can have (human detective and his robot partner solve a mystery) but I think over the course of my life, I've gone through Dune at least three or four times now (counting the audiobook) and Name of the Wind at least three times.

It also depends on what you call a "reread" -- I can rewatch movies and even whole TV series for fun, but books are harder for me! The time and effort investment, I guess, since you have to focus on words on a page and not just let them wash over you (I really need to get more audiobooks!). So for a lot of my favorites, I'll go back to specific moments or passages and reread those a bit more often, especially with Rothfuss. I've only read Wise Man's Fear once because, like, c'mon man. But also there's sections I've reread multiple times because he can turn a fucking phrase like few others!

OH. Shit. Add The Long Goodbye and The Thin Man to the list too. I've reread both of those multiple times, particularly Hammett's book because it's just such a fun, dry-humored romp from start to finish. Countless hours spent in my teenage years, listening to the Gyakuten Meets Jazz Soul album, reading about Nick and Nora Charles solving that one dumb mystery while trading barbs over too much liquor, and then turning right around and reading about Phillip Marlowe just having the most unpleasant days. Good times!

6: what books have you read in the last month?

...I mean do comics count? Cuz I burned through like four volumes of Kentaro Miura's Berserk over the past month, as well as the four volumes that exist of Tatsuya Endo's Spy x Family (which is what's currently dominating most of my free mental processes). Last month, it was A Memory Called Empire, and restarting Dune Messiah after losing my place in the audiobook.

There's always too much I'd like to be reading, or have intentions to read. I'd love to finally find out what everyone loves about those Attolia books, maybe get through the Riddler-Master of Hed, dive into A Desolation Called Peace and never come out, dig into authors whose body of work I've always been interested in but never sat down with, like John Le Carre or Elmore Leonard, finally really commit to reading entire series whose first book I only ever touched like Malazan or Black Company, or indulge in my guiltier pleasures and read through all of Eisenhorn or Gaunt's Ghosts or Temeraire...

And now I'm intimidating myself, so I'm going to stop thinking about it!

9: when do you tend to read most?

I need to really set aside time for it, so afternoon or evening when I don't have anything else going on, and usually in the fall and winter when I don't have anything outside to feel bad about not doing. I tend to binge-read, hard for me to put something down once I've started it, but it's the starting to read that gets me every time. It's an anxiety thing, I presume, along with most of my idiosyncrasies!

really slowly actually which is odd for me. I listened to their music from debut (I trusted bighit music to be good and I wasn't incorrect) and learnt the members just from being exposed to them by my sis and online. I often get into a group via reality shows and seeing their loud/entertaining sides which is harder to see with groups with less members - but my sister got me to watch some of their to dos and that was what I was looking for to get me to stan them properly ! I binged it all and was fully a moa for blour 💓
