I loved your headcanons from my request so much!! Can you write some headcanons of a daughter of Apollo (being 1 year older than Will (just like the last one)) where she has the project gift and sunlight gift (but a talent for poetry) and she has different personality than everyone else in the cabin (sarcastic, mood swings all of the time, easily angered, passionate, knows how to mess with people, she wants to be a criminal psychologist, etc. But she is also kind, caring, sassy, and fun) and she doubts herself because she doesn't feel like she fits in the Apollo cabin because everyone is so happy and carefree while she is one of the darker Apollo kids (when she's mad I guess). She also hates singing infront of people, so she doesnt participate in the campfire songs. Could you also include how her siblings help her (including her older brothers (let's just say that they aren't dead yet)? So sorry if this was confusing! Thank you so much in advance!
i'm gonna focus on the parts i haven't written for you before like the not wanting to sing in front of people and being 'darker' than the rest of the apollo cabin
----------------------------------------
will learns how to deal with your mood swings the best
normally you try and hide away from the rest of the cabin when you're struggling with feeling angry or moody for no real reason
but will got into the habit of finding you and getting you to talk about how you were feeling
he was patient and understanding and it was sweet that he cared so much about his older sister
as one of the older siblings in your cabin, the younger ones tend to look up to you
which sometimes puts a lot of pressure on you, especially if its a bad day
it was one day when you were hanging out in the cabin with a couple of the older siblings
when one of them began talking about how stressed they could get sometimes
apollo kids have a certain reputation for being sociable and happy-go-lucky and sometimes they don't want to be, maybe they're upset and because of the stereotype they feel like they have to hide the negativity away
more and more of you reveal how you feel like you can't show the 'bad' emotions even if you know that's bullshit
it's will who suggests you all talk to the youngsters about this because it sucks that so many of you feel this way
you end up opening about how you hide your moodswings and it's exhausting to put up a front for everyone
it's decided that you'd all gather around a campfire
no singing, no instruments to hide behind
you were very grateful that there would be no singing
but the whole cabin were surrounding the campfire
the older ones took turns telling their truth
you needed to make sure they were going to be okay, that they knew the image of the apollo cabin wasn't everything and if they were struggling, they could come to one of you
everyone who was struggling now knew they could turn to their siblings for help and you felt more comfortable in the cabin
it's wasn't just you that struggled and felt dark moods sometimes
that's a very reassuring thought
--------------------------------------
i hope you enjoyed, thank you for requesting!

luke castellan x daughter of apollo!reader
word count: 7004 words
summary: you and luke have been friends since the day the two of you met. you've had a crush on him since the two of you were fourteen; needless to say, he doesn't know about your feelings.
warnings?:  unrequited love, oblivious luke, jealousy, falling for your best friend, reader writes songs and plays guitar, reader lowkey hating the girl luke likes, faking, heartbreak, reader is friends with everyone and juniper the dryad, use of nicknames between reader and luke (melody and charming), swearing, will loves his sister!!, platonic chris rodriguez x reader, platonic clarisse la rue x reader, and platonic silena beauregard x reader (chris calls her sunshine, clar calls reader sunny, while silena calls her love), mention of fainting and dehydration.
a/n: take note of every little thing in this first part, because i laid clues for what's gonna happen in part two.
August by Taylor Swift is the song she sings during the camp fire.
ONE. TWO. THREE. FOUR.
You smiled as you watched your best friend teach your younger siblings how to wield swords, which was futile, as children of Apollo tend to be better at archery than sword fighting.
But Luke was patient with your siblings, which always made you smile. Maybe it was from experience. Having a cabin full of mischievous kids tends to give experience in being patient with hyperactive children.
You were sure you could stare at him forever. Bright brown eyes full of mischief paired with a contagious, kind smile.
“Y/n, are you listening?” Dawn snapped her fingers in front of your face, pulling you out of your daze. “You’re staring at Luke again, gods, you are hopeless.”
“I wasn’t staring, Dawn,” You rolled your eyes, turning your full attention to your younger sister. “Now, what were you saying?”
“You were, you ain’t fooling me,” Dawn teased, a smirk on her lips as she leaned back against the hard stone walls of the arena. “Anyway, are we singing at the campfire tonight?”
You scowled at your younger sister, your gaze landing back onto Luke. “You’re annoying, you know that?”
“I know, but I’m still the best sibling you got,” Dawn grinned cheekily. “So, are we singing or not? Or are you just going to ogle at Luke the whole day?”
Your cheeks started to heat up, like being kissed by the sun in the early morning. “We’re going to sing, happy now?” you grumbled, averting your eyes away from the senior counselor of the Hermes cabin.
Dawn smiled triumphantly, rising to her feet. “I think I’m going to join Lee and Michael,”
You raised a brow at her. “You’re shit with a sword.”
“Yeah, but it’s better than watching you hopelessly be in love with him,” Dawn jerked her head in Luke's direction. “Frankly, it’s nauseating.”
“Shut up,” you grumbled, rolling your eyes.
Dawn snickered, starting to walk away. “I’ll leave you alone to daydream of Luke sweeping you off of your feet, leading you up the stairwell-”
“Shut up!” You snapped at your sister, who was still snickering.
“Is everything okay?” A voice you know oh so well spoke behind Dawn.
“Oh, it's nothing,” You quickly said before Dawn got another idea to embarrass you. “Dawn was just going to train with Lee and Michael. Right, Dawn?” You say through gritted teeth, making your sister chuckle.
“Yeah, I’ll leave the two of you to talk.” And with that, Dawn finally left, golden hair dancing in the wind.
“You okay, melody?” Luke asks, sitting beside you, concern etched on his handsome face.
“Yeah, I’m alright.” You smiled, trying to look genuine despite wanting to kiss him and run your fingers through his curls like it’s the end of the world.
You never wanted to be in love with your best friend. You knew the consequences of it—thanks to your friends from cabin ten's constant reminders, but your stupid heart just wouldn't listen.
You've known Luke since the night he and Annabeth arrived at camp when you were fourteen. You'd been assigned by Chiron and Mr. D to tend to Luke and Annabeth’s wounds and bruises, being the head of cabin seven and the best healer camp has to offer and all.
Luke was charming, you had to give him that, charmed you into letting him attend training one first day despite not being healed properly yet. And then, half an hour later after he left the infirmary, one of your siblings brought him in—one of his wounds that you patched up, bleeding and was unconscious after insisting that he was okay minutes ago. Annoyed, you put him on bed rest. When he woke up hours later, he insisted to be let go—wanting to prove he can be better than that Ares kid he sparred with.
“Come on, doc, I’m okay now!” Luke raised his arm, but winced at the pain beneath his underarm. “See?”
“You are going to lay in that bed and you are going to rest. Doctor’s orders.” You simply said, humming a song as you checked his wounds for any infection.
“But-”
“One more word out of you, and I’ll curse you with bubonic plague.” You said, stuffing a cube of ambrosia in his mouth, smiling sweetly at him.
Luke chuckled, raising his hands up—wincing through it—in defeat. “Alright, doctor melody.”
“What?” you asked, brow raised in confusion. “Melody?”
“You’ve been humming, you know, while fixing me and Annabeth up last night. And you did it again, just seconds ago.” Luke explained with a small smile. “Aren't the children of Apollo good at music too? Like, singing? Since he’s the god of music and all.”
“Yeah, he is,” You smiled, reaching to hold the sun shaped locket dangling from your neck. “Apollo, god of the sun, archery, art, music, poetry and a shit ton more.”
“Can you sing for me, melody?” Luke grinned, sitting up. “C’mon, it’ll make me feel better, promise.”
“I’m not gonna get out of this, am I?” You ask, laughing softly.
Luke shook his head. “I’m stubborn, I’ll just ask you again and again, so you might as well do it now, melody.”
You rolled your eyes, chuckling. “Aren’t you just charming,”
“I’m waiting, doc,” Luke teased. “I can’t wait for an eternity like the gods.”
You shook your head, a giggle escaping your lips. “Fine, fine, but do you promise to rest your stubborn ass for the night?”
Luke nodded. “Yes, ma’am!”
“Okay, here goes nothing,” You muttered, taking a deep breath. “And they called it puppy love. Oh I guess they'll never know.
How a young heart really feels and why I love him so…”
Luke started clapping his hands. “Damn, melody, that was amazing!”
“Oh, shush,” You waved a hand dismissively, feeling your cheeks heat up like the sun, as if your dad kissed you on the cheek. “I’m not that good.”
Luke raised a brow. “And I thought Apollo was the god of truth,”
“I am telling the truth,” You insisted, folding your arms over your chest.
“Whatever you say, melody.”
From then on, you and Luke have been friends. Never one without the other, the two of you made it a pact.
“Michael and Lee are getting better with swords,” Luke commented as the two of you watched your younger siblings.
“Better?” You snorted, tying your hair up in a ponytail. “They are far from getting better, charming.”
Luke reached up to mess your hair. “You saying my methods aren’t great, miss melody?” he asked, feigning annoyance.
You hit him playfully on the shoulder. “All I’m saying is those kids,” you jerked your head to Michael and Lee, who were getting ready to duel like medieval princes as Dawn laughed her ass off. “Are shit with a sword.”
“Fair point,” Luke chuckled. “Let’s just hope they learned a thing or two from me.”
“If not?” You asked with a raised brow, passing him a bottle of strawberry flavored energy drink. Your hand grazed with his, sending shivers down your spine, better than any cold could.
“At least they have you,” Luke gave you a lopsided grin, opening the bottle of red sugary liquid and bringing it to his lips to quench his thirst. You could see his Adam's apple bobbing up and down as he downed the energy drink, the beads of sweat on his forehead and neck made him even—if possible—more handsome, making you gulp and look away.
“Yeah,” You squeaked out, your eyes widening at the tone of your voice, mentally slapping yourself for it. “They’ve got the best sister.”
“Damn right, they do,” Luke agreed, capping the now empty bottle. “You are the best sister Lee, Michael, Dawn, and the rest of your siblings could have, melody.”
You smiled, pushing out a stray strand of your hair behind your ear. “Thanks, charming,”
“No need to thank me, melody. I mean, it is the truth. That you are the best sister to your siblings and bestest friend to me.”
You felt your heart break a little. You wanted to be more than just being best friends with Luke. You wanted to be his muse, the girl he loves until his final breath. Maybe Aphrodite had cursed you or something, because Luke never saw you more than a friend or a sister.
“I’m the best,” You agreed, trying your best not to sound sad or anything about your feelings for him slip out.
“You hungry? I think it’s lunch time.”
You nodded, fixing your hair back up in a ponytail. “Yeah, you?”
“Starving, like I could eat a pegasus. Come on, let’s get some lunch and eat by the docks.” Luke stood up, stretching his arms and legs. “You comin’?” He asked, offering his hand to help you stand.
“Of course,” You beamed, reaching for his hand. “Let’s.”
You followed Luke out of the arena, before yelling over your shoulder. “Dawn, you’re in charge of the boys! Don’t let them die!”
“Yeah, Dawn! Don’t let ‘em die!” Luke yelled over to Dawn with a laugh as the two of you strolled away, leaving your siblings and a few other campers at the arena.
“Race you to the mess?” You challenged, a teasing grin on your face.
“Not fair, Y/n!” Luke scowled as you started to run ahead. “I just trained kids!”
“Too bad, Lukey,” You stuck out your tongue at him. “Last one there cleans the stables!”
“Oh no, you don’t!” Luke scoffed as you ran ahead of him, laughing as he easily caught up to you. “I’m not cleaning the stables!” He said, lifting you up with his strong arms and placing you on his shoulder, making you yelp.
“Put me down!” You giggled, playfully hitting his toned back.
“I don’t think so, Miss L/n,” Luke then ran towards the dining pavilion, with you still on his shoulder, screaming like an enraged harpy.
“Luke Castellan!” You shrieked, gripping his shirt for dear life, earning the amused looks of other campers. “Put me down, put me down!”
“Your voice sounds better when you aren’t screaming, you know that?” Luke commented, his pace slowing to a brisk walk.
You hit him hard on his back, again and again. “Put me down, Castellan! Now!”
“Ouch, woman, that hurt!” Luke grumbled, finally relenting and putting you down on the ground, just a meter away from the pavilion.
You pinched him on the side. “You son of a bitch!”
“Ouch!” Luke yelped, jumping slightly. “Violence is never the answer, woman!”
“Violence is never the answer,” You mocked him, rolling your eyes. “I’ll do whatever the hell I want, thank you very much.”
“Fine, fine, let’s just get food,” Luke placed his hands on his hips, catching his breath for a minute. “All that running with you on my shoulder got me extra hungry.”
“You’re the one who lifted me like I don’t weigh a thing!” You retorted, pushed him slightly. “I literally weigh like a minotaur!”
“Nah,” Luke dismissed, slinging his arm over your shoulders. “You don’t weigh that much. Stop thinking that you are.”
“Whatever,” you grumbled, making your way to the long table where all the food the dryads made for the day are served.
An array of food greets you as soon as you arrive at the table, Luke two steps behind you. There were bowls of fruit—strawberries, apples, and grapes—bread in all sorts of shapes and sizes, a container of mac and cheese (which you know has broccoli and carrots blended in to sneak vegetables in picky eaters’ food), and some other options.
“Look, there’s some waffles and pancakes,” Luke pointed to a platter of said breakfast items beside some yogurt parfaits and (tofu) sausage.
“You go get the waffles and pancakes along with some yogurt and ask Lily for some extra,” You pointed to the yellow haired dryad, Lily. “I'll go get the fruit and bread. You want some mac?”
“Nope.” Luke said, already making his way to the waffles and pancakes.
You chuckled, shaking your head before heading over to Juniper, a red haired dryad in charge of the fruit and bread.
“Hey, Junie,” You greeted, smiling at the dryad. “Got something for me?”
“Just these,” Juniper pointed to the array of pastries and bread. “Mr. D allowed the Demeter kids to get some croissants and tarts from a bakery in Manhattan.”
“Oooh,” Your mouth was already watering as you eyed the lemon and blueberry tart and those flaky croissants. “Can you put some in a picnic basket? Luke and I are going on a picnic by the docks.”
Juniper smiled brightly. “Are you and Luke going out on a date?”
You choked on your own saliva. “What?”
“You know, have you told him about your feelings yet? Are you boyfriend and girlfriend now? That’s what boyfriend and girlfriend do, right? Dates?”
“Shh!” You quickly shushed your friend. “No, I haven’t told him yet! He doesn’t know!”
Juniper frowned. “It’s so obvious you like him,”
“He’s stupid, I know.” You sighed, picking up a strawberry.
“Your siblings and those Aphrodite kids figured out you liked him years ago.” Juniper said as she filled up a picnic basket with tarts and croissants along with strawberries, grapes, and apples.
“Maybe one day,” You smiled, a hopeful look in your eyes. “When Aphrodite decides to reward me with a perfect love life.”
“I’ll pray to Aphrodite for you,” Juniper smiled, boosting your confidence up. “You deserve to be loved.”
“Thanks, Junie.”
“No worries, your secret is safe with me.” Juniper chuckled, she then passed you the picnic basket filled with food, looking almost like a cornucopia. “Here you go, packed and loaded for a picnic.”
You gave Juniper a grateful nod, mouthing a quick thank you before turning to go and find Luke, the picnic basket locked in both of your hands.
You walk towards Lily the dryad’s station, but Luke wasn’t there anymore. Instead, you walked around the large dining area, eyes scanning the place for your curly haired best friend.
When you finally spot him, your heart sinks.
Luke was talking and laughing with a girl. A girl you know to be a child of Athena, a sister of Annabeth Chase.
You felt the picnic basket in your hands grow heavy, along with your heart feeling like it’s slowly sinking into a bottomless pit.
Lacy Matthews—pretty, smart, beautiful, kind, stunning, intelligent.
Nothing like me.
Luke leaned on one of the pillars of the pavilion, eyes steady on Lacy as she discussed with him about something—probably architecture, like Annabeth would always ramble to you.
Hair gold as the sun, eyes gray as stormy clouds, skin like puff pastry, and a mind sharp as blade, no wonder Luke would like her.
You contemplate, whether you walk to Luke and disturb his talk with Lacy, or just walk to the docks alone and eat the food Juniper packed as you cry your heart out. Maybe pray to Aphrodite while you’re at it.
You sigh, taking a very deep breath, before making your way to them with shaking hands.
“Luke?” You ask as soon as you’re in earshot. “You ready for the docks?”
Lacy looks at you first, smiling sweetly at you. “Oh, hi Y/n! How are you?”
You stood there, silent for a minute. Feeling a myriad of feelings all at once, taking you over like a spirit. “I’m….okay.” you answer after what felt like eons.
“Your skin hair looks amazing,” Lacy compliments you, but it feels more like bullets on skin. “I wish I had your hair.”
You give her a tight smile, turning your attention to Luke. “Docks?” you ask, hoping he’d get the gist of it.
“Oh, Y/n,” Luke scratches the back of his head, your heart breaking another of its pieces at the mention of your name. He always calls you melody, your name feels like poison out of his lips. “Can we take a rain check? Lacy and Annabeth need help with cleaning cabin six, you know, books.”
“Tonight, then?” You ask with a shaky breath. “After the bonfire?”
“Tomorrow, l guess?”
“Uh, yeah, sure. No problem. I’ll see you? I guess.”
You quickly turned around, the basket of fruits and pastries still in your shaking hands as you made a beeline towards the nearest exit, your heart beating fast like pegasi galloping in the wind. Your eyes stinging like a fresh cut you wanted to just drown in antiseptic.
“Y/n?” You heard a small voice from behind, you whipped your head to see your little brother, Will Solace. “I cut my hand on a sword.” he mumbles, lower lip shaking like yours.
You kneel to his level, the basket still in your hands like they had their own minds, refusing to let it go—maybe hoping that Luke would reconsider and go with you to the docks instead, but you knew deep inside that it was a long shot.
“Okay,” your voice was hoarse, as if there were thorns blocking the back of your throat. “Let’s get you fixed, is that alright?”
Will nodded, blonde hair falling into his face, blue eyes hiding underneath them, making you chuckle. At least I have something else to think about for the meantime.
“Come on,” You reach your hand out for Will to take. “Let’s get some cute band aids for that cut.”
Crying on the docks would have to wait.
Will takes your hand as the two of you head to cabin seven where you keep a box of medical supplies just in case. You didn’t feel like going to the Infirmary, you were just too tired to do so.
“Why are you sad, sissy?” Will asks, big innocent blue eyes looking up at you.
“It’s nothing, I just have dry eyes. Think I need some eye drops.” You answered the younger boy, trying not to be, well, sad.
“I can feel that you’re sad, you don’t have to lie to me, sissy.” You look at your brother, how in Apollo’s name did he know? He was only seven, and wasn't even trained properly yet.
You sighed, pushing out the hair from Will’s face. “I’m just bummed.” you answered honestly, at least you tried to.
“Why?” He asks further. “Maybe I can help.”
You took a deep breath. How do you explain to a child that you are sad and hurt because the boy you like chose a girl over you, his best friend. “I’ll tell you when we get to our cabin, alright?”
“Okay,” Will agreed. “I’m gonna do my best to help you sissy!”
You tried suppressing a laugh, but failed miserably. Will was like a literal ball of sunshine. Since he arrived at camp a little over a year ago, he’d become a beacon of hope for you. You’d cling to your little brother when shit goes wrong for comfort, and he did the same, it was like you had an empathy link with him.
As soon as the two of you stepped onto cabin seven’s premises, you let Will run to his bed—he wanted to get the macaroni bracelet he made you—while you went to get your medical supplies.
“Look, sissy! I made this for you! I made one for Dawn too, and Lee and Michael!” Will excitedly showed you a blue and yellow colored macaroni bracelet. “Do you like it?”
You smiled, kissing the top of his head. “I love it,” You slipped the bracelet onto your wrist. “I’ll never take it off.” you promised the little boy—who was smiling from ear to ear.
“Okay, so are you gonna tell me now why you’re sad?” Will asked, straight to the point like an arrow through a bullseye.
You sighed, rolling your eyes playfully as you dug through your medical kit for some bandaids. “Luke and I planned earlier that we’d head to the docks to have a little picnic, but last minute…he, uh…”
“He what?” Will pushes further, peeking as you went through looking for your medical kit.
“He kinda ditched me? I don’t know if that’s the appropriate word, but instead of going with the original plan, he asked for a raincheck to go and help Lacy from cabin six clean out their cabin.”
“What’s wrong with that?” Will looked up at you as you poured antiseptic on a cotton ball, wiping it on his cut. “He’s helping others.”
“Oh, sweet baby boy,” You sighed, remembering that Will was still a child. “I like Luke—no, maybe I love him at this point. And I’m sad because I’m jealous and he chose to be with her after he asked me to a picnic that I was looking forward to, because I wanted to spend time with him.” You took a deep breath. “Even if I didn’t have romantic feelings for him, it still hurt because he picked her over me, he was my best friend first before everything.”
“What do you want to do?”
“What do you mean?” You ask, brow raised as you placed a bandaid on the cut.
“Are you mad at Luke? Do you wanna prank him because you are? Or curse him to be sick for a week?”
“William Andrew Solace!” You chastised, shocked at what he had suggested.
“What? He hurt you, he deserves it.”
“He hurt me, yes, but he does not deserve any of what you suggested, William.”
“He hurt my best big sissy, so he deserves it.” Will muttered under his breath.
“William,” You sighed, tucking behind a strand of your hair behind your ear. “What he did was wrong, as a friend. But I don’t have any right to be angry at him for liking Lacy, I’m just his friend, nothing more.”
Will’s face softened. “You deserve everything, sissy,” he then reached up, placing each of his hands on both of your cheeks. “You are the best sister in the whole world. You deserve to be loved, like the way you love me and everyone else.”
You smiled, tears stinging the corner of your eyes, your heart swelling with love from your little brother. You may not have the love of the boy you loved, at least you had your brother’s making up for it, masking up the heartbreak, even just for a little while.
“Alright,” You wiped away a single tear. “You’re all fixed.” you pat him on the cheek, wiping the sweat away on his forehead.
“I love you, sissy!” Will says as he wrapped his arms around you.
“I love you too, kiddo,” You chuckle, ruffling his blonde curls, kissing his forehead. “Go find Dawn, she’s at the arena. Watch Lee and Michael duel like idiots. Don’t tell them I told you that.”
Will nodded enthusiastically, before sprinting out of cabin seven. “See you later, sissy!”
You let out a shaky laugh, feeling the loneliness eat you up as quick as it left. Your eyes landed onto the basket with food still packed for two.
Luke still wasn’t going with you down to the docks.
You choked back a sob, grabbing the basket and your guitar and notebook from your bed before heading out to the docks. You might as well kill time until the bonfire, alone with your breaking heart.
You didn’t stop at anyone, walking straight to the beach with your guitar strapped onto your back and the basket wrapped between your arms. You just didn’t have the will to talk to anyone, even your friends and siblings.
The salty smell of the sea breeze infiltrated your senses as you approached the beach, the docks that you and Luke always hung out at nearing  your view. You took a deep breath, letting the soft breeze take over you as you stepped onto the wooden platform, the waves crashing beneath it. You set down the basket, sitting beside it as you pulled your guitar to the front, your fingers lightly strumming a little tune—one you knew like the back of your hand, the song Luke always asked you to play.
“'Cause if one day you wake up and find that you're missing me and your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I could be,” You sang, trying your hardest not to just break down despite the tears you had been pushing back were threatening to spill. “Thinking maybe you'll come back here to the place that we'd meet and you'll see me waiting for you on the corner of the street,” you sniffled softly. “So I'm not moving, I'm not moving.”
You can’t help but wonder what would Luke do when you leave camp for good. Would he be sad? That you, his best friend, gone with the wind? Or would he ask you to stay?
You wished that you didn’t know the answers to your own questions your own damn mind plagues you with. You wished that he knew he was all that you think about every goddamn night, that he was the reason for those teardrops on your guitar, that he was the only thing that kept you wishing on a wishing star.
You sighed, grabbing your blue notebook that you had slid inside the basket and the pen you had packed alongside it. You needed to let it out, even just on another tear streaked paper.
You hummed a little melody as you continued to write what you felt, your chest burning with untold stories.
“Hey, sunshine,” You heard a voice call from behind you, whipping your head around almost immediately, nearly dropping your notebook into the sea.
“Chris,” You gave him a small smile, adjusting the strap of your guitar.
“Mind if I join you?” Chris asks, walking closer to you but stops a few steps from you with a grin plastered on his face.
You quickly closed your notebook, stuffing it in the picnic basket. “I don’t mind,” You scooted to the side to give him some space to sit, your hair blowing in the gentle sea breeze.
Chris nods at you, making his way to the vacant spot beside you. “So, what are you up to?” he asks, leaning slightly back. “You weren’t at archery practice earlier.”
You shrugged your shoulders slightly. “Just wanted some time alone, I guess.” you turn to look at the basket sitting unopened beside you, wondering if you should offer Chris one of the pastries. “What about you?”
“Luke,” Chris chuckles, he rolls his eyes with a shake of his head. “Can’t stand him making out with Lacy in cabin eleven.”
“Oh.” You say, the pain and sadness slipping out in your voice, your heart, now broken completely as another fresh set of tears threatens to spill. “Well, good…good for him.”
Chris raises a brow at you, noticing the tremble in your voice. “You okay?”
“I’m okay,” You lied, wiping away the tears that spilled from your eyes, hoping Chris wouldn’t notice. “Do…do you want, uh, a croissant?”
“You are not okay,” Chris says, pulling your hand away from your face. “You’re crying, what’s wrong?”
“No, no, it’s nothing,” You sniffled, trying to assure him that you were alright, but he wasn’t believing any of your attempts to cover up what you were feeling.
“C’mon, you can tell me,” Chris tells you with a soft smile. “I won’t tell anyone, promise.”
You turn to look at him, your eyes now red and puffy, tears still streaming down. You felt numb, broken, and empty. You didn’t have the words to try and tell what was happening inside your heart and mind. All you could see, against your will, was the image of Luke kissing Lacy.
You wanted to scream, you wanted to jump onto your feet and storm over to Luke and hit him for hurting you this much, and you even wanted to just jump into the ocean and let the salty water fill up your lungs so you couldn’t breathe the same air as them.
“You like him, don’t you?” Chris asks, his smile fading.
You blink back your tears, Chris’ words echoing in your head. “I love him.” you whimper, wiping your tears away.
Chris sighs, scooting closer to you, wrapping his arm around your shoulder. “I knew it, I figured you liked him years ago. I’ve known you and Luke long enough to know how different your looks at each other are.”
You lay your head onto his shoulder, your tears spilling still as you silently sobbed. “It’s not fair,” you mumble out. “It’s not fucking fair.”
“Hey, hey, it’s okay, let it all out, it’s okay.” Chris soothes, rubbing your shoulder to comfort you. “You’re hurt, you deserve to cry.”
“Am I ugly? Unlovable?” You ask with a shaky breath.
“Hey, hey, hey, look at me,” Chris cups your tear streaked face in his hands. “You are not unlovable. You’re the kindest, most selfless, and loving person out there. You help everyone in need, you make people smile, and don’t get me started with how your music makes everyone feel. How would that make you unlovable? You are very lovable. You are loved, your siblings, your friends, everyone.”
Chris pushes strands of your hair away from your face. “And you are most certainly not ugly. You are beautiful. You are beautiful like the sun, like a sunflower, especially when you smile—radiating beauty like rays of sunshine. Luke is too fucking stupid to not realize how lucky he is to have you loving him.”
“The boy who I love is now in love with someone else,” You murmur, moving your head out of Chris’ hand, closing your eyes. “He’s the only one who's got enough of me to break my heart.”
“It’s his loss, not yours.” Chris says, rubbing circles around your back. “He’s a fucking idiot, for hurting you. Even if he doesn’t know.”
“She’s pretty, I’m n-”
“Stop it, stop,” Chris cuts you off. “You are beautiful, pretty, stunning, dazzling, whatever the hell you want to call it. Don’t you dare compare yourself to her, you are far better than her. She’s beauty and brains, but you? Beauty, brains, talent, and a big heart.”
“You’re just saying that to make me feel better,” You hiccup, wiping your tears away.
Chris scoffs playfully, shoving you slightly. “I’m trying to comfort you, woman.”
“Thanks,” You chuckle, moving your hand to the basket beside you. “Want a croissant?”
“Eating your sorrows away, huh?”
You rolled your still red and puffy eyes at him. “I’ve got a basket full of it,” You explained, bringing the basket onto your lap and opening it, the smell of the pastries mixing with the salty ocean breeze. “Luke and I planned to eat these here, but bailed on me to help Lacy.”
“That son of a bitch,” Chris grumbles, reaching for a croissant. “Wasting food and bailing on his best friend.”
“I mean, Hermes is a bitch,” You snort, picking a blueberry tart up. “So, technically…”
“Yeah, well,” Chris bites into his croissant, crumbles falling into his lap. “I’m not one to dump my best friend for a girl.”
“Not even for Clarisse?” You ask, a teasing smirk on your lips.
“Clarisse would beat me into a pulp if I did.”
You smile at Chris. “Thanks for being here, even by chance.”
“I’ll always be here for you, sunshine,” Chris ruffles your hair, making you laugh. “That’s what friends are for.”
“Thank you for making me feel important,” You took a deep breath. “I needed that.”
“You are important, never think that you aren’t.” Chris gives you an assuring smile. “So, is the tart good?”
You let out a giggle, your eyes going to the tart in your hands. “I think so,” You raise the blueberry tart to your lips for a bite, your eyes lighting up. “Mmm, gods this is good!”
Chris laughs at your reaction. “Good, huh?”
You nod, licking your lips. “It’s divine, better than cookies!” You say, taking another bite. “This is my new favorite dessert!”
“There’s the sunshine I know,” Chris chuckles, an amused look in his eyes. “The light in everyone’s lives.”
“Now you’re just fueling my ego,” You giggle, reaching for another tart.
“It’s true,” Chris insists. “Ask anyone—except Luke, ‘cause he’s an idiot—and they’ll say the same things I told you.”
You roll your eyes playfully, raising your hands in defeat. “Fine, fine,” You say through a bite of your tart. “You win.”
“I’m amazing,” Chris says with a cocky smile. “The best, even.”
You groaned playfully. “Note to self, never tell Chris Rodriguez he’s right.”
“Hey!”
You burst out laughing, nearly falling off of the dock as you leaned forward if Chris hadn’t grabbed your arm. “Sorry,” You say through fits of laughter, the sadness and hurt you felt just moments ago, fluttering away. “You get…wait,” you wheeze out, clutching your stomach. “So cocky when someone tells you you’re right, but you end up looking constipated!”
Chris gasped, feigning offense. “Take that back!”
You shook your head, laughter still coming out of your lips. “Never!”
“I hate you,“ Chris fake grumbles, an amused look twinkling in his eyes. “You’re a meanie!”
You burst out laughing, again
“Yeah, go ahead and laugh your ass off, sunshine,” Chris shoves you playfully. “It’s the best medicine out there!”
Out of breath, cheeks flushed, you leaned flat against the wood platform. “Chest hurts,” You wheezed, though still smiling.
“Well, you did laugh like a fuckin’ lunatic, sunshine.”
“How am I going to sing at the bonfire tonight?” You say through breaths, mentally kicking yourself for not bringing any water—despite being surrounded by it.
“You can do it,” Chris assured you as he laid beside you, leaving enough space that you’re not uncomfortable. “I know you can. You’re camp’s best singer, you can’t fuck up the best thing you’re good at.”
“You think so?”
“You’ve been singing for as long as we’ve been friends, sunshine,” Chris yawns, stretching his arms up. “Pretty sure, you’re gonna nail this, like you always do.
Tumblr media
You were regretting your decision to come to the bonfire.
Here you were, sitting beside your siblings, across Luke and Lacy—arms linked together like they’d perish if they didn’t.
The mere sight of them shamelessly flirting made you want to vomit everything you ate, and maybe even your brains out. It was sickening, how Luke smiles as Lacy whispers something into his ear, her delicate fingers around his biceps.
You wanted to walk up to him and drag him by the ribbon on his left arm—which was one of Lacy’s probably, watch him burn into ashes, but decided against it. Because, one) Hestia wouldn’t approve of it, two) well, he’s still the love of your life and best friend.
It was torture for you, watching them be happy. It makes you wonder, how the hell did they get that close. They had started talking just hours ago, but now? They looked like lovers reunited after the war.
What was so special about her? You ask yourself again, even though you knew the goddamn answer. Smart, sexy, Lacy. God, she was making you crazy. Dazzling starlet, like a Bardot reincarnate. And then there you were—messy hair, paint stains everywhere, guitar string marks, flab on your belly and arms, band aids in your pockets, basically nothing like her.
Luke looks at her as if she was the sweetest thing on this side of hell, like she was the greatest thing to ever exist in this world.
Like ribbons in her blonde hair, your stomach was all in knots. She’s got the one thing that you ever wanted, wrapped around her finger without even trying.
The fire continued to burn golden-orange flames as your siblings led the song Down by the Aegean, everyone was happy and content, except for you.
Jealousy lingered around you like a moth drawn to the flame. Making it hard for you to concentrate on anything else aside from Lacy laying her head on Luke’s shoulder as he toasted marshmallows for both of them. The thought of them plagued your mind, despite trying everything to keep it away from your thoughts.
Stupid brain, stupid heart, stupid Luke, stupid Lacy, stupid love.
“Hey, sis?” A voice snapped you out of your insecure thoughts. You looked up to see Lee standing just a few inches to your right, looking at you with concern. “You okay?” He asks, his voice laced with worry. You then realized that everyone had stopped singing, and all eyes were on you—except those lovebirds who were making googly eyes at each other, as if they were the only person left on this damned world.
“Uh, yeah, I’m okay.” You say through gritted teeth, hoping no one would notice.
“It’s time for your special song, sissy.” Will nudges you from your left side.
Oh. You thought. They were waiting for you.
“Oh, right,” You chuckled nervously, reaching for your guitar from Dawn.
You didn’t know what to sing. All the thoughts and memories in your head seem to have faded into dust.
You shakily strum a chord on your guitar, your fingers gliding over the metal strings. The guitar was a gift from your dad, enchanted to play whatever you had in mind with just a few strums of your fingers.
You sigh, letting your fingers do all the work, hoping you could give the people around you your best.
I can see us lost in the memory,
August slipped away into a moment in time
‘Cause it was never mine.
And I can see us twisted in bed sheets,
August sipped away.
Like a bottle of wine 'cause you were never mine,
You sang, the words coming out of your lips so naturally, all of what you felt pouring out like water. You saw the sympathetic eyes of your friends from the other cabins—the ones who knew about your feelings for Luke.
Your siblings were trying their best not to give you the biggest hug in the whole world, especially Will, who was sitting beside you.
Some were confused as to why you were singing about some boy because you’ve never done it before. They hadn’t thought that you had feelings, too.
Back when we were still changing for the better
Wanting was enough
For me, it was enough
“Shit,” You heard someone curse from cabin nine. “The fire’s blue!”
You look up, blazing blue, meeting your eyes. Hestia’s fire had never burned blue before.
“Beckendorf, this isn’t funny!” Someone yells in the background, amongst the whispers.
“We’re not doing…..anything,” Beckendorf trails off, as if he had been silenced all of a sudden.
To everyone’s surprise, the blue—almost black—flames burning in the firepit started to get bigger and bigger, as if they were swaying to the tune as you played.
To live for the hope of it all
Cancel plans just in case you'd call
And say "Meet me behind the mall"
And finally, as you finished up the song, from the corner of your eyes, a sore sight to behold. Luke and Lacy were making out, and they couldn’t have waited to even be out of sight—barely a meter away—before devouring each other’s faces.
So much for summer love and saying "us"
'Cause you weren't mine to lose
You weren't mine to lose, no
You weren't mine to lose.
Luke grabs Lacy’s waist, pulling her closer. They looked happy, and it was tearing you apart. They were killing you slowly, like a dagger was lodged in your throat, and they were twisting it.
Cause you were never mine, never mine…
You felt tears filling your eyes like a dam, and anytime was ready to explode. But, forced them back down—at least, you tried to—hoping to save a little more dignity for your name.
Lacy has everything that you have to live without. She should hold him tight, and give him all her love. Look at him straight in those beautiful brown eyes and know she's lucky because Luke was your everything—your life, your world, everything.
As the image of them faded from your peripheral view, you stared into the blazing fire in front of you. Now, red, blue, and black flames were dancing together, almost as if Hestia could feel what you were feeling.
You sigh, placing the guitar down, feeling arms wrap around you. You look up, seeing Chris, camp necklace dangling from his neck. “I’m sorry you had to see that,” he murmurs, rubbing both of your shoulders.
“You want me to put his head on my spear, Sunny?” Clarisse asks, sitting opposite of Will. “One word from you, and I’ll skewer him.”
“You’re overwhelming her, Clar,” Chris says. “You don’t deserve this, sunshine. Yet, he doesn’t deserve you.”
“Do you want to spend the night with us, love?” Silena asks from beside Clarisse. “A little girls' night could help.”
You shake your head, the tears you’ve pushed aside spilling like an opened dam. “I’m okay,” you say, clearly lying. You knew your friends could always see through your lies.
“Come on, let’s take her to seven. She needs rest.” Your brother, Lee, interrupts. “She looks dehydrated; why the fuck is she dehydrated?”
“Language,” you weakly say, the view of the fire blurring. “Swearing, s’bad.”
“And delirious,” Dawn mutters beside Lee, holding Will close to her.
Before you could retort a reply, your vision slowly went dark, and faint voices were screaming before you completely passed out.
Luke was immediately jolted awake from his honeymoon daze by the sounds of frantic screams and yells, just a few steps away from him and Lacy.
“What’s wrong, baby?” Lacy asks, her delicate hands cupping his face, lips swollen from kissing just a few seconds ago.
“You heard that?” Luke asks, pushing her slightly to the side. “I heard screami-”
Luke cuts himself off at what he sees.
Chris is sprinting to the Big House with you, unconscious in his arms. Luke’s heart starts to beat rapidly—faster than ever before—as his legs subconsciously take him in your direction.
“Melody.”
Lacy stands there as Luke makes his way to you, huffing and arms crossed in annoyance. “What the hell, Luke!?” She yells after him, but it’s like he hears nothing.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it was winter at camp half-blood. the sun still shone as usual, thanks to helios. the air was cold, but something about felt like home somehow.
you were in the infirmary restocking bandages and checking inventory. during the other months there aren't many injuries besides a few bumps and scratches from sparring.
you weren't expecting to stay long in the infirmary since you doubted anyone would come in for anything major. that was until your girlfriend, clarisse, walked through the door calling out to you.
"are you in here?"
"storage room!"
she made her way to the back urgently.
"is something wrong, amica mea?" you asked her without averting your attention from the clipboard in your hands.
she didn't respond and looked at you confused.
when you noticed her silence you looked up at her and smiled bashfully, your golden hue emitting something brighter than usual.
"my love. it's latin."
she walks closer to you, taking the clipboard out of your hand, much to your dismay, and places her hands on your waist, pulling you closer. she presses her soft lips against yours. you quickly kiss her back while wrapping your arms around her neck. the kiss was slow and gentle much like always.
you break the kiss and pull away giggling. "someone's in a good mood."
"shh..you talk too much just kiss me."
you scoffed playfully and placed your lips on hers once again. clarisse kissed you softly and held you even softer. on the outside it was well known that if looks could kill you wouldn't want to be on the receiving end on one of clarisse's death glares. but when it came to you, clarisse was just a lovesick teenage girl.

'Jealousy'
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Clarisse La Rue x DaughterOfApollo!Reader
In which Clarisse gets jealous after you kiss Luke
Clarisse strolled through the lively grounds of Camp Half-Blood and her expression was as fierce as ever. However, beneath that tough exterior, there was a storm of conflicting emotions swirling within her.
It all began with you,a daughter of Apollo known for your radiant smile and musical talents. You and Clarisse had been friends, or rather, reluctant allies since your days in the camp. The tension between you was palpable, fueled by your differing personalities and the constant competition for recognition as formidable demigods.
One sunny afternoon, the simmering conflict boiled over into a heated argument. You and Clarisse clashed in a verbal spar near the training arena, your voices echoing off the surrounding trees. The words you exchanged were sharp and cutting, each accusing the other of perceived weaknesses and failures.
Amidst the escalating tension, a familiar figure approached, Luke Castellan, the charismatic son of Hermes. Luke had a way of navigating through conflicts with a sly grin, but on this occasion, he found himself inadvertently caught in the crossfire of you and Clarisse's feud.
As the argument reached its zenith, you, perhaps fueled by a combination of frustration and a desire to one-up Clarisse, did the unthinkable. With a defiant glint in your eyes, you turned to Luke and planted a passionate, lingering kiss on his lips.
Clarisse's rage flared to new heights, and her grip tightened on the hilt of her sword. However, something unexpected happened. Instead of escalating into a full-blown brawl, the tension shifted, and an electric charge lingered in the air. The intense gaze between you transformed, and the anger that had fueled your argument morphed into something else entirely-pure,unadultered fury.
She grabbed your hand forcefully - not even attempting to be gentle, and dragged you all the way back to her cabin - which luckily for her and unluckily for you - was empty at the time. She slammed you against the wall, towering over you,her hands placed on the wall behind you, resting besides the sides of your face. She looked right at you,her eyes burning holes through you as she leaned in,whispering in your ear
"You wanted to make me jealous? Was that your fucking plan?Of course it was.Then...I'll show you just how jealous I can be when someone touches what's mine, angel."
A/N:I need her so bad it's not even funny anymore

Clarisse first met you at Camp Half-Blood after hearing about the mythical world from her mother.
She had just turned 13 when her mother decided that she wasn’t safe in the human world, sending her daughter to the hidden camp for safety.
You spent most of your life at Camp Half-Blood, growing up there since the age of 10! Years had passed and you were still there, now only ranking your position to a camp counselor.
After Chiron gave her simple instructions on respecting the community regulations, she was yours to guide around the camp.
At first, it was awkward because she was reserved and cold to everyone. You were all strangers to her, so why should she trust any of you? However, you assumed that the girl would miss her mother, aware that humans can’t enter the mythical world.
You didn’t blame her, everyone needs time to adjust so you gave her some space. She’ll come around, sooner or later, you were sure of it.
Despite trying to make small talk, the girl remained silent until the cabins were in sight. It was quite rude but you didn’t make a fuss about it, can’t force the girl to talk.
You showed her which cabin she’ll be temporarily staying in, cabin 11 (Hermes).
“But Ares is my father, why can’t I be with my half-siblings?”
Soon enough, you explained to her the whole gist of the cabin selections; her father didn’t claim her yet so she was currently classified as ‘unclaimed’.
Eventually, she came around sooner and you were ecstatic.
She was an explorative and attentive teenager once you got to know her. You were there when she was claimed by her father. It was a heartfelt moment for her.
She was the leader of Cabin 5 (Ares) and as are you with Cabin 7 (Apollo).
You taught her everything you knew, training her in all of the sports the camp had to offer.
From all the sports there, she had a natural spark for spear fighting. Her dad had gifted her an electrified spear and she never stopped wielding the weapon in her hand ever since.
The techniques used during this were fatale yet liable, depending on who wields the sword.
The Ares girl viewed you as the big sister she never had. Both of you had a sisterly connection that other campers couldn’t quite comprehend.

Losing me — luke castellan
pairing: luke castellan x Apollo fem!reader
warnings: toxic, violence, lovers to enemies trope, established relationship
okay so I have never posted here but here we go. Also the lines that separate the paragraphs is the passing of time. enjoy!
Tumblr media
"Luke, stop," she pleaded, her voice quivering as she shook her head, strands of her dishevelled hair falling across her face. She pulled away from his grasp, the weight of her decision heavy in the air. His confusion was evident, eyebrows furrowing in a desperate attempt to make sense of the situation.
"I don't understand," he confessed, his voice tinged with vulnerability. The dim room seemed to close in around them. She took a step back, her eyes reflecting a mix of sadness and determination.
"I know you don't," she whispered, her words hanging in the air like a delicate thread. "But this needs to stop." Her gaze met his, and for a fleeting moment, a silent plea passed between them.
"You said you'd follow me to the end of the world," he implored, taking a hesitant step forward. His eyes, once filled with unwavering certainty, now searched hers for answers. She mirrored his movement, stepping back, creating a growing distance.
"This is the end, Luke," she stated, her voice carrying the weight of a thousand unspoken words. "Look at you." Her eyes swept over him, the turmoil in his dark, searching eyes, where not the same brown pretty eyes she loved.
"Do you hear yourself?" she exclaimed, frustration boiling over as she gestured emphatically at him. The room seemed to echo with the echoes of their emotions. He stood frozen, absorbing the impact of her words. The silence that followed hung like a heavy fog.
His dark eyes darted around her face, desperately seeking a way to bridge the widening gap between them. "I can't lose you," he confessed, the vulnerability in his voice laying bare the raw truth of his feelings. "Luke, you have," she whispered, the truth cutting through the hushed atmosphere like a knife. The realisation struck him like a sudden gust of cold wind, and he jolted awake, the sheets clinging to his back, drenched in sweat. His gaze instinctively darted to the empty space next to him, where she had slept, her absence a stark reminder of the growing distance between them.
Unable to shake off the lingering emotions from the dream, Luke opened his cabin door and found her on the steps, tending to the wounds acquired from the recent quest. The early morning light filtered through the tall trees, casting a soft glow over her face as she worked on mending her gashes. Without a word, he sat down next to her, the silence between them heavy with unspoken sentiments.
"Did you have a bad dream or did I wake you up?" she inquired, concern etched on her face as she peeled off the old, blood-stained cloth. He hesitated for a moment before admitting, "A dream." His gaze remained averted, grappling with the emotions stirred by the vivid images that still lingered in his mind.
She reached out, her hand running gently over his jaw and cheek, through his curly brown hair. His eyes closed, and he leaned into her touch, seeking comfort in the warmth of her presence.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Every morning since her father Apollo visited her, she glared at him with storms in her eyes, the weight of unspoken internal struggles etched into every line on her face. How could he say that he loved her when he couldn't admit the silent corruption of his mind, a looming darkness foretold by the prophecy that had cast a long shadow over their lives? She bit her nails down to the quick, a nervous habit fueled by the anxiety that brewed beneath the surface, a constant reminder of the impending doom that threatened to unravel their world.
Her face took on a pallor, a shade of grey that mirrored the unacknowledged sickness festering within their connection. Despite the storm raging within her, Luke remained oblivious, unwilling to confront the reality of what lay ahead. The prophecy, like an ominous cloud, cast a chilling effect on their relationship, its unspoken weight pulling them apart.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"YOU DID NOT!" she screamed, the sound reverberating around the room like a sharp echo. "Baby, please listen," he pleaded, desperation evident in his voice as he tried to sway her. "NO! Luke, you have lost it," she yelled in response, vehemently rejecting his attempts to explain himself. In frustration, she turned away, determined to distance herself from the chaos that had unfolded.
Luke, unable to let her slip away, grabbed her arm forcefully. She turned to face him, the air thick with a sense of loss and indecision as their eyes locked in a silent battle. "Join me, please. It pains me not to be with you," he pleaded, the desperation seeping into his words. His grip, initially firm, began to loosen on her upper arm.
"I know my pain is such an imposition to you," she declared, ripping her arm out of his grasp. Her eyes held a mix of hurt and defiance as she confronted him. "And I know that my choice is such a hard thing to grasp, but if you want things to change, joining Kronos is not the way!" her words stuck to him like thick honey, the fact that what he’s seeing and hearing is true.
"You said you'd follow me to the end of the world," he whispered, his eyes unable to break free from her gaze, unwilling to admit to himself that this nightmare was unfolding. The weight of his own choices pressed heavily on his shoulders, and he found himself trapped in the inevitability of the moment. "This is the end of the world," she stated, her voice carrying a mixture of sorrow and resolve. Her hand reached up, tenderly cupping his cheek, a silent plea lingering in the touch. "If you do this, it is the end."
In response, he tightened his grip on her wrist, a force that caught her off guard. The air between them crackled with tension, and her other hand instinctively found the dagger at her hip. She pointed it at his chest, a desperate attempt to defend the crumbling boundaries of the world they had once shared.
Her free hand swiftly snatched the dagger from her hip, its cold steel gleaming ominously in the dim light. With a mix of desperation and determination, she pointed it at his chest as he pulled her closer, their noses almost touching. The dagger hovered precariously, a symbolic line drawn in the tense air between them, representing the perilous crossroads of their shared fate.
"Do it," he hissed, teeth bared in a mix of defiance and resignation. His head tilted, his intense gaze looking down on her face. "If this is the end, then end it," he whispered, the words carrying a raw vulnerability. Her eyes flickered briefly to his lips and then back up to his eyes.
Closing the gap between them, she crushed her lips into his in an almost feverish kiss, a collision of conflicting emotions and unspoken farewells. He responded eagerly, savouring the moment with closed eyes, fully aware that this would be the last time. When they finally broke apart, he pressed his forehead against hers, a desperate attempt to prolong the closeness as she began to pull away.
"Luke, you have sixty seconds," she stated, her voice carrying the weight of an impending farewell. The fleeting seconds hung in the air, a countdown to a decision that would shape the course of their intertwined destinies. Reluctantly, he reluctantly let her go, his eyes tracing the contours of her face as she pulled away. The air was charged with the weight of unspoken goodbyes, the seconds slipping through their fingers like grains of sand.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Luke's footsteps echoed through the dimly lit hallway of the ancient Apollo temple, nestled in the heart of San Diego. The aged stone walls seemed to whisper the stories of countless quests and devotees who had treated these hallowed grounds. His sword, weathered and worn, felt heavy in his hand, a tangible reminder of the urgency that fueled his pursuit.
His eyes darted around the corridors, searching for any sign of her. He knew she was here, on a quest for her father, Apollo. Luke needed Apollo's lyre, and the knowledge that she possessed it intensified the urgency of his pursuit.
As he rounded a corner, there she was, knelt in front of a tall, looming statue of Apollo that almost seemed to watch him as he walked closer to her. The soft glow of candlelight flickered against the intricacies of the statue, casting shadows on her features. Her hair, longer and now lightened, framed her face in a way that seemed to capture the essence of the divine. The passage of time had woven a tapestry of change in her appearance since the last time he laid eyes on her. "Do you think I'm just going to hand it over to you?" she questioned, glancing over her shoulder with an eyebrow raised. Luke hesitated, his attempt at negotiation cut short as she rose, the coveted lyre in her possession. With a swift motion, her finger graced the strings, and as if answering the call, the golden lyre transformed into a magnificent bow, accompanied by a matching arrow that found its place in her grip.
"I was hoping we could negotiate?" he suggested, but before he could take another step towards her, she had the golden bow aimed directly at him. “You’re pathetic,” she spat, her tone filled with disdain. “You think we can negotiate? How long can we be a sad song, Luke?” A bitter edge tinged her almost-laugh as she descended one of the steps that led to the statue, the arrow still menacingly aimed at him. Her eyes, once filled with warmth, now scrutinised him from the scar down to his boots and back up again.
“What did your father tell you? That I was pathetic?” he retaliated, a bitter edge in his tone. She responded with swift action, firing the arrow from her fingers. It whizzed past his head with a menacing speed, a stark reminder of her prowess with a bow. "I thought you were gifted by the gods, but you can't even-" His sentence was abruptly cut short as another arrow hurtled towards him, piercing straight through his armoured shoulder and only just touching his skin.
He stumbled backward, the force of the impact stealing his breath. The weight of the golden arrow embedded in his shoulder added to the gravity of the moment. With a pained grunt, he yanked the arrow out, the metallic twang resonating in the air.
“That wasn’t very nice, sweetheart,” he hissed, the words dripping with both pain and resentment. Undeterred, he stepped forward, his determination cutting through the air. She fired, the arrow slicing through the space between them, but Luke deftly deflected it with a swift motion of his sword. In response, she fired again, the tension escalating with each passing second.
Luke closed the distance, his presence too near for another arrow to find its mark. As if responding to the urgency of the moment, the golden bow in her hand transformed into a gleaming sword, a manifestation of the escalating conflict. The clash was imminent.
The air crackled with the sound of metal meeting metal as the two swords collided. Sparks danced in the dimly lit temple, a visual representation of the fervour that fueled their confrontation. "I gave you all my best me's," she commented, her voice carrying the weight of shared memories. The scrape of the swords echoed their complex history, each clash a reverberation of the emotions that lingered between them. "And my endless empathy," she added, the passion in her words cutting through the charged atmosphere. The swords locked in a duel, the very embodiment of the clash between love and betrayal, passion and resentment.
He placed a foot on her chest, exerting pressure that sent her colliding with the cold stone wall. The clash echoed through the ancient temple as Luke's sword delicately lined her throat, dancing over her skin. Their faces hovered mere inches from each other, breaths mingling in the charged air. Her teeth bared in defiance as he looked down on her, the intensity of their gaze locking in a silent battle.
“I won’t kill you if you just hand it over,” he said, his words a calm facade over the underlying tension. Yet, his eyes betrayed a flicker of emotion, briefly wandering to her mouth. “You wouldn't dare,” she hissed, defiant and unyielding, moving closer to both Luke and the blade that danced perilously over her skin.
Luke's hand found her wrist, the one that held the gleaming sword, wrapping around it with a firm grip. “All I did was bleed for you,” she added, her voice catching with a mix of sorrow and accusation. “You betrayed me as I tried to be your bravest soldier.” Tears threatened to spill from her eyes as Luke remained silent, the weight of her words hanging in the air like an unspoken truth. “Fighting in only your army,” she added, almost pleading, desperation lacing her words. “Don’t you ignore me!” she screamed at him, her voice echoing around the temple.
In that charged moment, as the weight of their shared history pressed heavily upon them, Luke's gaze softened. His grip on her wrist loosened, and against the backdrop of their tumultuous confrontation, he pulled her closer. A raw vulnerability lingered in the air as his lips met hers, a desperate attempt to bridge the gap that betrayal had created.
The kiss, passionate yet laced with bitterness, became a silent plea for understanding. Tears ran down her cheeks, mixing with the intensity of the moment.
However, as the kiss deepened, she pushed him away with a force fueled by anger and hurt. In the aftermath of the intimate collision, she took a step back, her eyes and cheeks tear-stained. With a swift motion, her hand moved the sunlight streaming through the ancient temple's windows. The light intensified, forming a blinding ray that pierced his eyes, momentarily robbing him of his vision.
The sudden manipulation of sunlight served as a physical manifestation of her emotional turmoil. As the radiant beam enveloped him, she stood there, her silhouette defined by the glow of the manipulated light. Luke couldn't help but think that she should be the one worshipped, not Apollo. Her power, both divine and resonant, felt more potent in that sacred space than the legacy of any god.
The pain surged through him when her sword cut through his shoulder, a searing agony that felt like his very being was set ablaze. The blinding sunlight, manipulated by her hand, had left him vulnerable, and he didn't see her coming. The blade seemed to carry the weight of centuries, as if it had been forged in the crucible of ancient torment. Luke gritted his teeth, his grip tightening around the bleeding gash. In the midst of the physical pain, there lingered a deep yearning—a wish, almost desperate, that she had chosen to end him with that strike.
The echoes of their tumultuous history reverberated in the hallowed halls of the Apollo temple, and as the pain pulsed through him, Luke grappled with the realisation that the wounds inflicted went beyond the physical.
“Get out,” her voice echoed around his head as he struggled to his feet. The blinding pain in his shoulder and impaired vision left him with no choice but to leave the sacred grounds of the Apollo temple. He cast one more glance at her, catching a glimpse of an unexpected presence. Apollo stood behind her, a godly figure with one hand resting on her shoulder. The divine touch spoke volumes, an undeniable symbol of the unspoken alliance between father and daughter.
Luke, battered and defeated, felt the weight of Apollo's silent support as he begrudgingly turned away. The echoes of her command still reverberated in his ears.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Do something, babe, say something," her voice echoed, reaching him even though her presence remained elusive in the dream. Pain resonated in her words.
"Lose something, babe, risk something," she shouted, the dream swirling around him in chaotic fragments.
"Choose something, babe, I got nothing," her words bore a tangible weight, too vivid to dismiss as a mere dream. “Luke, you’re losing me!” It screamed, and he jolted out of his bed, his head ringing with the persistent echo of her haunting plea.
The disorienting transition from the dream-world to reality left Luke breathless, the remnants of the dream still clinging to his senses. The urgency in her voice lingered, imprinting and haunting him.

reader comes to terms with feelings for her best friend while trying to deal with the disappearance of her brother
tw none
✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧
Y/N found herself befriending the younger of the Stoll brothers after a prank he had pulled on her only a little after she had arrived at camp. On a morning where her brother had left the cabin early, so she was alone in cabin 3, she found her cabin surrounded by cups of water as she tried to leave. At first she thought she thought this was the dumbest prank to pull on her, after all, she could control water. However, when she tried to empty the cups, the water wouldn't budge. No matter how hard she tried, the cups stayed still, unaffected. She began to panic, wondering if she had somehow lost her powers overnight. So, she grabbed the cup closest to her, just to find that it wasnt water at all, just clear jello.
“Hey, L/N!” she heard called. She looked up to find Connor Stoll standing in front of her, holding a cup identical to the ones that surrounded her, “how’re the water works going?”
She huffed, “Did you two do this?!”
“Actually,” he smiled, “I did this one myself.”
“Good to know,” she watched him take a sip of his cup, “by the way,” she began.
“What?” He asked before his drink was entirely splashed onto his face.
“You're cleaning this up, Stoll.”
Despite her initial annoyance, she had to admit the cleverness of it. She only wished she could find a way to return the favor.
Which she did, as she was somehow able to get Travis on board. During a game of capture the flag, she snuck back to camp and hid in the Hermes cabin, where after the game, while everyone was still celebrating the winning team, Travis would tell Connor they needed to talk in private.
She watched Connor follow behind his brother as they walked in, “dude, is it something serious or like-” Before he could finish, a puddle of water that had been floating above him, poured down like a rainstorm.
“So,” Y/N laughed, walking over to him, “how’re the water works going for you?”
He wiped his eyes, “good one, L/N,” he sarcastically sighed.
She nodded, beginning to walk out of the cabin, “by the way, thanks for the help, Travis!”
“You helped her?!” She could hear Connor exclaim on the other side of the door as she giggled to herself.
The joy of her revenge was short lived though. The day after, she found her older brother to be missing.
She sat on the sandy beach, asking her father for help, but hearing nothing in response. She tried to calm her anxieties by drawing circles in the sand.
“Y/N?” She heard a familiar voice call from behind her.
She took a deep breath before forcing a smile and turning her head, “hey, Stoll.”
“I heard about your brother,” he sat down next to her.
She nodded, “yeah, I’m sure he’s fine, but still…”
He bit his cheek, “you know, if you weren't all upset and everything, I would have totally gotten you back for yesterday.”
She chuckled, “You’d really start a prank war with me?”
“You bet,” he smirked.
“Try me.”
So then on, the only thing that could cheer her up through the months that her brother was missing was the same person who annoyed her most. Or so she said.
“Seems like Annabeth’s pretty stressed about that one shoe boy, huh?” Connor mentioned as they walked through the forest.
“Yeah,” Y/N answered. She didn't want to admit how hopeful she was about the prophecy. She was sure there were lots of demigods who could lose a shoe, gods know she has plenty of times.
“Pretty embarrassing for him though,” he joked, “you get back to camp after months and you're a mess.”
“Connor,” she spoke as she stopped walking.
He paused, “yeah?”
“I know it’s not gonna be my brother,” she added, “I just know. And I really just don't wanna think about it right now.”
He nodded, “oh, sorry,” he awkwardly responded, “but you gotta admit, it’d be embarrassi-”
She grabbed a stick off the ground and poked him in the side, “shut up.”
He raised an eyebrow and grabbed his own stick, “make me.”
“You!” She yelled, trying to stab him with the stick again, but he instead began running.
He ran backwards, looking back at her, “you have to admit, I’m pretty fast.”
“You're such an idiot!”
“What do you mean-” he asked right before slamming his back into a tree.
Y/N cackled as she reached him, “that’s what I mean,” she smirked, poking him with the stick.
“Kick me while I’m down, that’s real nice.”
She smiled and helped pull him up. She lingered her grip on his hand for a little too long before letting go, but she noticed his hand not even budge enclosed in her fingers. They both awkwardly stayed silent for a moment, feeling like there was something on the tip of their tongues that they both wanted to say.
“Y/N!” Annabeth’s voice rang through the forest. Annabeht stopped as she stared at the two of them, “Y/N, he’s here, come on.”
Y/N nodded, “right,” she began walking towards Annabeth, “see you later, Connor,” she waved.
He stood still for a moment, “bye.”
She walked alongside Annabeth, trying to shake the feeling in her chest.
“Let me get this straight,” Connor questioned. He was in the middle of training with Y/N when she told him about the plan, “you’re going to the Roman camp with Annabeth, Jason, Piper, and Leo?”
She nodded, resting her sword down, “yeah.”
He shook his head, “you can't just go like that, L/N.”
“What?” She breathily laughed, not believing what he had just said, “it’s my brother, I have to go with them.”
He ran his fingers through his hair, “but that’s- what am I supposed to do with that?”
“You have friends other than me,” she replied, “this isn't about you, Connor.”
He sat down on a nearby bench, “I know but…”
She sat next to him, “but?”
“Y/N,” he egan, “I’ve been really wanting to tell you something and I can’t yet.”
She nudged his shoulder, “you're my best friend, Connor. Come on, hit me.”
He sighed, “you're really going?”
“Yes,” she muttered, “now, will you just tell me?”
He stood up, “can we talk somewhere else?”
“Alright,” she obliged. He suddenly grabbed her hand and led her away. She might’ve said something if she didn't enjoy the feeling of his hand in hers so damn much. When he walked into her empty cabin she knew whatever he had to say was important.
He hesitantly let go of her hand, “Y/N, I- uhm- I really, really like you,” he whispered, “I get that you have a lot going on right now, but-”
She smirked, grabbing his face and kissing his lips. She couldn't tell how long this went on. All she knew was that he immediately relaxed into the kiss, his hands finding her waist to pull her closer to him. She knew that she could feel his lips curled into a smile that mirrored her own.
When they pulled away, their faces were still only centimeters apart and a trail of saliva reached between their lips, “I kinda like you too, Stoll.”
He just smiled even more, quickly pulling her into another kiss.

i have a request!!! you should write a daughter of apollo x leo valdez fic but based on espresso by sabrina carpenter (idk i feel like that song gives children of apollo vibes!) it'd be leo obsessed with the apollo girl (like him being absolutely obsessed with her, having the biggest crush on her possible, he constantly thinks about her, him being an absolute loser bf) and finally getting the courage to ask her out on a date or something like that.
“she’s like a shot of espresso…”
leo valdez x duaghter of apollo!reader

warnings: use of yn! english isn’t my first language so it might be some errors!!
thank you so much for your request, it made me so happy!! idk if what i wrote it’s exactly what you want but i hope you like it 🤕 this is my first timing writing a real fic and I think it really shows lol, but i promise I’ll try to improve in the next one, I’m so sorry if it’s that bad, and this is really short too? omg im really bad at this lol, but anyways, ly anon tell me your opinions (honestly) abt this later, kisses to uuu!! 🫶💗 (btw anon, please request other things I feel like I didn’t did you justice with this one)
words: 850
“is it that sweet? I guess so…..”
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ - ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
Leo was sure he was going crazy.
He always had a pretty big amount of silly crushes on girls, but with you? It was getting way too serious. Of course, you're beautiful, incredibly kind, and too generous for your own good, and you treated him well, but that isn't enough reason to make him lose sleep; at least that's what he thought.
And he was extremely wrong. Being in your presence was the equivalent of being bathed in the sunlight, and gods, he felt like a prisoner who hadn't seen the sun in years.
He's completely obsessed with you; he just needs the courage to verbalize that, but being honest, Leo felt like a coward at the moment.
While being lost in his thoughts (the thoughts being the pretty daughter of Apollo that never leaves his mind), the boy finally falls asleep.
Leo doesn't mind waking up if that means spending the day with the people he loves, so after getting ready for the day, he searches for you.
And he found you, talking with a much younger camper, helping him. You're smiling like it's the best day of your life, and Leo could swear that you're almost glowing.
The boy makes its way to you the same moment you finish talking to the kid, now having your full attention on Hephaestus' son.
"Leo! Good morning!" Your voice to him had the same effect as listening to his favorite music, it made him happy in ways he couldn't explain, even if his life depended on it.
"Yn! Good morning!" He mimics you, not in a bad way, just a teasing one. You roll your eyes in fake annoyance.
"Sooo, did you sleep well, Valdez?" You ask, seeming really interested in the answer, but he knows that you're like that for everything, being extremely kind.
"Not really, would be better if I dreamed about you," you laugh amusingly.
"You say that every day, y'know?"
"I know, I say because it's true. " You can't help but blush a little. You're used to Leo flirting with you, but it never gets past that, so you just learned to joke back.
"Hilarious, Valdez... fortunately, I slept very well today, and I'm more excited than normal! I think it's because it's so sunny today, that's awesome, was thinking about going to the lake later. I can't waste such a pretty day like this one painting inside my cabin..."
"Unfortunately, I'll be in the bunker today, I have lots of things to do."
"What? No! You're coming with me, you can't waste this wonderful day either!" You grab his hands, walking toward the lake.
Leo could swear he would pass out at that moment. He couldn't even think about denying your offer, he would prefer dying to doing that.
After a few seconds, you guys get to the lake.
"Look how pretty it is! You have to go swimming with me, it’s a need.”
"Look, sunshine, water and fire don't get along so well, so I might skip that one" he says, apologetic. You frown, thinking.
"We don't need to go swimming, we can just talk, i really don't care." You smile lovingly at him.
"I don't want to ruin your day! There are many people that can go with you, you'll find someone better to do that." He's so oblivious that it's getting concerning.
"I want to spend time with you, Valdez. I don't mind if it's swimming or just talking, I want to, you know..be with you."
"Oh." He's acting like a loser, he can't think straight anymore and is blushing like crazy, but who cares?
"Oh?" You tease him, smiling.
"Yeah, we can. Just talk, I'm happy with that. " His smile was so genuine that made your heart melt.
That's when you realize you're still holding his hand, and you don't want to change that. You can feel he notices too.
Something just snapped in his head, now it’s the time, now or never, right?
"Yn? Can I tell you something?" He says it in a quiet tone, and you just nod.
"When I'm around you, it's like constantly drinking a shot of espresso, it's like being bathed in sunlight, you're incredibly energetic and enthusiastic, and i just can't get enough of you, you're my sunrise and daylight....all I'm saying is, gods, I very much love you more than just friends" You're surprised, really surprised, so surprised that you can't even speak for a moment, which just makes Leo even more nervous.
"Please say something...like, anything, a no it's better than silence because it’s less-“ Before he yaps again, you interrupt him:
"I like you too." The boy almost squeals of pure excitement.
"Seriously? Oh gods, oh gods. What?" He's so happy, it's so sincere, so soft, it's amazing, you can feel your heart beating so fast, and you don't even care; seeing him like this because of you is the best feeling you ever felt.
Then you see that one look, meant just for you, it's like time has frozen, and you're both thinking the same thing. Then, like all the stars aligned, you kissed him

I was seven when my mom died, and my life was turned upside down forever. Wait, can your life be turned upside down if you don't really have a life yet? Whatever.
I was seven when she was killed. And I promise I'm not going to run to the rooftops and sing fight song, but I do feel it's important you know how I got to where I am.
Let me start over. My name is Renae Gold, and I'm half Greek god.
My mother was a woman named Bella Gold, or Isabella, but nobody ever called her that. Same reason nobody really calls me Renae. It's too formal.
My mom met my dad one day when she was nineteen and playing guitar in Central Park for cash. She didn't live there, she was just traveling down the East Coast, so they met totally by chance. Or maybe he saw her from above and decided to come say hello. Anyway, one thing led to another and I came to be, but then one day just before I was born, he had to leave her. The reason why? He was the god Apollo, and he needed to be back up on Olympus, doing godly things.
My mom was angry, and rightfully so, so she named me Daphne, after the woman my father loved who turned herself into a tree just to escape him. She did this to torture him. Basically, my middle name is a giant 'screw you' to the god who broke her heart.
So that's me. Renae Daphne Gold. Call me Rae. I'm eleven years old, and one day I'm going to be a hero.
My mom was a funny woman, and really pretty too. She had long blonde hair that was always either braided or wavy, like a waterfall cascading down her back. She had blue eyes and freckles just like mine. She loved climbing trees and playing guitar, and her favorite song was Calico Skies by Paul McCartney. This must've been why dad took a liking to her.
But like I said, she died when I was seven.
I was at school when it happened, so all I know about her death is what Chiron told me. She was attacked by monsters, and I had to go with him and live at some summer camp for demigods.
Chiron is the activities director at Camp Half-Blood, my home. He basically raised me after that. Him, and of course my siblings in the Apollo cabin.
The Apollo cabin is the only home I can really remember. It's golden on the outside, and homely on the inside. It doubles as a makeshift infirmary, even though we already have an infirmary. My bunk is the comfiest thing in the world, top bunk on the left wall closest to the door. My half-siblings all live in there with me, and we're all pretty close. We sing campfire songs and hug it out, and our head counselor is Lee, and he's the coolest guy in the world.
Anyway, back to the war and stuff. Can you tell I have ADHD?
I'm basically writing this so there's a written account of what it was really like for us during the war, or for most of us anyway. Most of us didn't get to be the hero. Most of us didn't get to go on dangerous quests and save the world six times. Most of us aren't the Percy Jacksons, or the Annabeth Chases, or even the Grover Underwoods.
For most of us, it was a lot of waiting.
I suppose I should start with the field trip to Olympus. It was the winter solstice, which meant it was time for the gods to assemble and discuss things like crops, weather, death, and the latest Britney Spears album. Chiron wanted to take some of us there to see what it was like, meet some minor gods, get a taste of what they do and learn some of our history. You know, boring museum type stuff.
Chiron had been gone for a few months, away on some "official Camp Half-Blood business" with Grover the satyr, but he came back for Christmas and stuff, so he took us on the solstice trip while he could.
So we went, toured Olympus, and sat through godly meetings like the world's most uncomfortable 'bring your child to work' day. For some of us, it was our first time ever meeting our godly parents.
That trip was when Zeus's master bolt went missing.
The gods all have some sort of powers or domain they rule over. For Zeus, it's the sky. His weapon of choice is his master lightning bolt, and it had been stolen while we were there, setting this whole thing into place.
After the trip, Chiron pulled all of us into his office. At first I thought he was going to lecture us about passing notes while in godly business meetings, but he didn't. Instead, he told us about Zeus's bolt, and he asked us if any of us had taken it. He said don't be afraid, and to come forward so he could help us, but I was pretty sure anyone who came forward would get a good smiting from the gods themselves.
Nobody came forward.
After the holidays, Chiron had to go back to whatever he was doing before, and we didn't see him again until June. He left us alone with Mr. D, which I don't think I'll ever fully forgive him for.
I don't think Mr. D likes me very much. It's probably because he associates me with the Stolls, which is unfortunate for me for many reasons. Connor and Travis Stoll are my best friends, but they're always getting us into trouble that I always have to get us out of. They're sons of Hermes, and they love to prank and pickpocket, and they've even broken into Chiron's office before.
But if I'm being totally honest, I don't think Mr. D likes anyone that much.
Mr. D stands for Dionysus. Yup, the Dionysus, god of wine and all that. To make a long story short, he upset Zeus one time and Zeus made him work at Camp Half-Blood as punishment. It's totally unfair. I don't see why Dionysus crushing on Zeus's favorite wood nymph means we have to be punished for it, but that's how Zeus saw it apparently.
The time Chiron was gone was spent doing our everyday activities; cabin chores, training, lessons, the usual. I spent a lot of time swimming and playing volleyball with Connor, Annabeth Chase, a twelve year old daughter of Athena, and Luke.
Luke is a super awesome guy. He's one of the oldest counselors at camp, but he's always really nice. He's got this cool scar from a quest he went on and he's got some of the coolest stories. He's also an amazing swordsman, the best at camp.
He plays volleyball with us because he's Connor's brother, and he's close with Annabeth since they came to camp together.
Volleyball is my second favorite activity. I've played it all four years I've been at camp, and Connor likes it too, so we play a lot together.
If volleyball is my second favorite activity, my first favorite is playing guitar. I started playing right after my mom died, when I inherited her acoustic. I play my guitar at the nightly campfire, and sometimes I even write my own songs with it, but I've never played them for anybody but Connor.
Sometimes I feel like I wouldn't make it in the mortal world. As far as demigods go, I don't have the most experience. My notable skills include guitar, bracelet making, volleyball, and annoying Annabeth Chase. When I feel like this, I remind myself that Connor has made it this far, and if he can do it, I'm pretty much in the clear.
The one thing I've wanted my entire time at camp is to go on a quest. I just want one, that's all I'm asking for. Just a chance to go out there and prove that I'm not useless or dainty. I'm not just some guitar playing little girl. I'm a strong eleven year old demigod who can kick some major monster butt.
But any time a major quest comes up, it's given to the older, more experienced campers, or children of the really strong, important gods. Which doesn't exactly include my father. He's good at many things; like looking into mirrors and picking up girls, or driving them away. He isn't exactly the Olympian you'd call on for assistance in battle.
His children are considered much the same. We're the musicians and the poets, the artists of camp. We're the healers and if we're lucky, even the field medics. Every now and then you get an incredibly skilled archer such as my brother Michael. I've made it my life's mission to be as good as him one day, that way I can challenge him to a shoot-off and get to say I beat him.
My ultimate goal in life is to prove everyone wrong about Apollo kids, and prove that I can hold my own around here. One day, I'll have Clarisse shaking in her boots.
I was overjoyed when Chiron came back. I figured he'd come back and tell us some cool stories around the campfire, that he'd tell us about his mission someday. He liked to do that. Anytime he had to leave (which wasn't often), he would come back and tell us stories of what he was doing.
This time was different. When he came back, he looked somewhat relieved but at the same time, unsettled by something. Like he got through a haunted house with no jump-scares and was left waiting for one for days after. It was like the killer clowns and the ghosts all decided to follow him home.
Because soon after Chiron's return came the arrival of a kid named Percy Jackson.
Hey everybody! I'm so sorry sunshine took longer to get out than I was planning. Lots of personal stuff happened in May and June so I had lots to deal with, but here it is! If you want to read all of Sunshine at once I have a Sunshine masterlist on my main masterlist, and I will also be tagging every part with the tag 'sunshine by rae'. Thank you so much for reading! :)

Fever - Clarisse La Rue
summary: clarisse comes into the infirmary with a fever
characters: clarisse , daughter of apollo!reader
contents: maybe ooc clarisse (?) , shes such a sweetheart , sorta needy clarisse , mediocre writing
word count: 445
a/n - this is my first time writing for the public so yk 😭 im open to suggestions 🫶🏾
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it was an unusually slow day in the camp half-blood infirmary. not many demigods came in today so you being the nice cabin counselor you were decided to let the rest of your healer siblings have a day of training instead of medical care.
you were sitting back in a chair soaking in the natural light the windows let in when you heard the door open due to the chimes hanging from the doorframe.
you quickly opened your eyes to see none other than the clarisse la rue.
you see, to your average camper, clarisse was like a poison dart frog. everyone and i mean everyone knew not to piss her off. she was like your own personal hellhound just minus the fact that shes a demigod and hellhounds are dogs.
she looks around for you before she locks eyes with you and you smile at her.
"hello clair, to what do i owe the pleasure?"
she rolled her eyes. "speak normally please." you chuckled in response, gesturing her to sit on one of the beds.
"so what's the problem?"
"does there have to be a problem? can't a girl just want to see her girlfriend?"
you smile at her sweetness. "aww thats so-"
"don't ruin it."
you roll your eyes this time starting to walk over to her.
"y'know you're really sweet when you're passive."
she groans dismissively.
"okay grizzly bear," you get to her and place your hands on her shoulders looking down at her. "really, whats up?"
her head hangs low resting gently on your stomach. she resists the urge to completely rest herself on you.
you take your hand and press it to her forehead in an attempt to lift her head up but you're quick to notice the fiery warmth coming from her forehead.
"pretty bad fever you have here sweet girl."
she grumbles softly.
she lifts her head up and gently grabs your waist. her eyes almost look as if they're pleading.
you raise an eyebrow. "is there something you need?"
she scoffs and rolls her eyes. you know what she wants but you're not taking the attitude.
she grumbles something under her breath.
"what was that bubs? couldn't hear 'ya."
she sighs deeply. "can you -- can you kiss me?
you smile and sit on the bed next to her and kiss her lips gently.
she sighs as you kiss her, placing her hands on your waist once again gently kissing you as if if she were any rougher you'd crack.
other campers were always scared of clarisse but you weren't because they didn't know her like you did and she wouldn't ever love them like she did you.

Clarisse La Rue x DaughterOfApollo!Reader hc's
A/N: I was bored so I decided to do some hc's on Clarisse x reader as my first post. The new episodes had me fr.These are just random hc's I thought of,don't come for me.
OKAY, SO I FEEL LIKE Clarisse would totally act all tough and stuff, but secretly she's a total softie for her girlfriend! AHAHSHDH, here are some headcanons:
She deff calls you "Sunshine" as a teasing nickname, but lowkey smiles when she says it.
Clarisse would totally deny being romantic, but she LOVES taking you on late-night walks around camp.
I feel like she would brag about you to the other Ares kids, smth like "Yeah, my girl can shoot arrows better than any of you losers."
SO I FEEL LIKE she'd get super protective during capture the flag and would basically turn into a one-woman army defending you, even though you're the one with healing abilities like-
She deff secretly loves when you play music, especially if it's something calming. But she'd never admit it.
Clarisse would totally teach you some badass combat moves, and you'd become the power couple of Camp Half-Blood.
I feel like she would surprise you with little gifts, like handmade weapons or something, just to show she cares.
She LOVES challenging you to spar, and even though she's tough, she secretly lets you win sometimes.
I feel like Clarisse would totally steal a kiss when no one's looking and then act all tough about it.
She 100% calls you "Apollo's Favorite" after a playful argument between the two of you,but deep down, she knows you're her favorite.
I feel like she would plan these epic adventures for just the two of you, like sneaking out of camp to explore some forbidden area.
Clarisse totally LOVES it when you compliment her battle skills, and she'll boast about it for days.
Honestly, she'd have a soft spot for you and your healing abilities and would secretly seek your help when she gets a minor injury.
I feel like she would surprise you with a secret picnic by the beach, claiming it's just to eat, but really-she just wanted some alone time with you.
Clarisse might not say it often, but she LOVES having you by her side in battles, knowing you've got her back no matter what.
A/N:AHSHSJ,so basically, even though Clarisse acts all tough, she's a total sweetheart when it comes to you and would definitely break anyone's face for you 💕

Annabeth and Grover ran into the infirmary, half-carrying half-dragging Percy between them.
Y\N, who just finished sewing Aphrodite’s son’s arm, turned to see what happened. They needed to hold back thier surprise; Percy was pale, his lips were blue, and his whole body was wet and shaking.
“What happened?” they asked as they checked Percy’s body heat, pulse and blood pressure, avoiding the hard pounding of their heart. Focus, they thought. You need to help Percy.
“We sailed in a canoe across the lake, and Percy jumped in the water to swim and check on the creaturs there, as always.” Annabeth said, breathing heavily. “After a while Grover-”
“-I felt Percy wasn’t okay,” Grover interrupted Annabeth. “He told me in his mind to help him because he’s in danger! So I told it to Annabeth and-”
“I took the canoe all over the lake but I didn’t find anything,” Annabeth interrupted Grover. Gods, I wish they stop doing that, Y\N thought. “So we asked the Nayads to help, and eventually they found Percy and brought him to our canoe. He looked like he looks now, as if he-”
“Drowned” Y\N finished her sentence. It was impossible, Percy was Poseidon’s son, he wasn’t supposed to drown or get wet- but here he was, looking just like someone who just drowned.
They knew it could be a prank; but Percy wasn’t the guy who pretends he drowned and make all of his friends worry. Y\N knew Percy since they both came to camp, when they were 12, and they remember how guilty Percy seemed at his funeral when he saw everyone mourn over him; he would never make his friends sorrow on purpose, which means he really drowned.
“Will?” Y\N called. Will was there in a minuete. “What you need, Y\N?”
“Put Percy on this cot and go get some towels and blankets, please” Y\N told their brother, thinking what to do.
Will nodded. He took Percy from his friends and layed him on the cot, then he whispered “he’ll be fine” in Y\N’s ear and went away. He was the only one who knew Y\N has a crush on Percy, although they thought it was pretty clear.
Y\N had another secret- Apollo, their father, blessed them with a voice that can be used almost like charmspeaking, but for other purposes; their voice could be used to effect people but not the same way charmspeaking does- Y\N’s voice was a tool, they could use it to calm people or boost their energy, it could make people see things the way Y\N does, and if they were singing to a sick\injured people it made their natural healing process faster.
Now they used it to make people listen to them and do as they say- Annabeth and Grover wanted to help Percy, but Y\N wasn’t sure if they’ll listen to them. “Grover, go get some herbs from the Demeter cabin, explain the situation and they’ll know what to do”
Grover nodded and went out, absolutely convinced Y\N know what they say.
“Annabeth-” Athena’s daughter recoiled when she heard how convincing Y\N’s voice is; she almost never followed orders, only when someone used charmspeaking. “Go to Apollo’s cabin, there’s a bottle full of golden liquid on my night stand, please bring it here; there are poems on the wall next to it”
Annabeth nodded, surprised by how powerful Y\N’s voice was, and did as they said.
Y\N turned around and looked at Percy. They brushed his hair away from his forehead with their fingers, sigh at how soft his hair was. “I wish you felt for me what I feel for you” they said. “I wish you would see how I feel about you. I wish you could be mine and I could be yours.” They sighed again, a single tear rolling on their cheek. “I love you” they whispered and took Percy’s cold hand in thiers, sobbing from sorrow.
Percy didn’t hear those words, but they were the words he wanted to hear most- even if he didn’t know it.
