Here be the first little bit of the new DP x DC AU I warned about earlier where Tim, due to his constant repeated attempts at cloning Bart & Kon, accidentally summons slightly eldritch Elle who is very interested in what he’s up to.
As always feel free to run with this as a prompt if yall find anything here interesting :D
*
Tim didn’t mean to summon her.
He’d been in the lab, staring at the data on the latest failed attempts at cloning Kon and Bart and feeling like he was cracking in two. Eyes burning, chest tight, world spinning out into shifting impossible shadows around him as his mind and body struggled to push him forward into another day without sleep. The hush of water in the tanks, his unsteady steps on the cement floor, the chill seeping into his bones.
He stumbled and swayed through the maze of the lab, numbers dripping like blood down the screen as he tried to stare at the figures. He needed to try again, needed to bring them back, in whatever capacity he could. This time would work. This time he’d get it right.
When he saw her, feet clumsy as he rounded a corner, he thought she was just another hallucination.
How could she be anything else?
Skin like a polished mirror, hair like the white-hot flash of lightning, eyes as green as the depths of the Lazarus Pits. She floated before a tank, spectral and strange with a long wisping tail that drifted off into nothingness in place of legs, body shifting and changing before his eyes in ways that bodies should not be able to. Outside of the eyes the face was…not there. An impression of the shapes that you’d expect to see in a human face, like the Question’s. Sometimes though the features defined, sharpened. Mirror bright skin crackling as faces took shape in the glass.
In the low light of the lab, he almost imaged one of those faces was Kon’s. Dimples and freckles and high cheek bones and the slant of a silhouette that haunted Tim’s dreams at night. A flicker of her lightining hair and it was gone. Smoothed back into soft blankness once more.
He watched from the of the aisle as she lifted too-long mirror shard fingers and rest them gently on the glass as she seemed to peer in at the lifeless body inside.
Attempt 76.
One of his tries with Bart. The organs hadn’t grown right during the age-up process. Tim had cried for that one as he had for all the others. As he had for Bart and Kon when they had died. As he still did as the fact that it was more maddened grief than hope that kept him pushing forward anyway.
He closed his eyes to the hallucination at the end of the aisle. Breathed deep and steady. It might be gone when he opened his eyes again. It might not be. It might be something - someone - else when he dares look next. He’d been through this time and time again over the days and weeks he’d been throwing himself at this agonizing wall. The only difference this time was the intricate strangeness, the total lack of recognition he had for the figure, baring the moment he almost saw Kon in its face.
Coffee. Maybe some harder stimulants, if he had any left. New data to review, new attempts to be made. He didn’t have time for the effects of sleep deprivation.
Tim opened his eyes.
He jerked back as he came face to face with himself, warped and strange and green in the reflective face of the being where it now hovered so close that if it breathed he would feel it upon his face.
She tilted her head at him, curious. Hands rose to cup his face, rest on his shoulders, wrap around his arms, cradle his hands. More hands than he’d seen before. More hands than he was able to truly comprehend, stomach souring as his eyes stung and strained in the attempt to look at the impossible warping of her body. Despite the glint of shattered glass that made up her fractured palms and splintered silver fingers, her hands were soft and warm where they curled around him. Almost human in the way they held him in place, the hold pleasantly firm.
He’d never had a doting elder aunt to pinch his cheeks and demand to get a look at him, but he imagined this might be what that felt like. The way the being shifted her head from side to side, his reflection warping in the curved reflection of the planes of her featureless face, added to the strange idea. His hallucinations didn’t normally touch him, though. And never so…kindly.
Tim felt his blood go cold as he realized it might not be a figment of his fracturing mind floating before him.
Swallowing nervously, he tried to shift backwards, to slip out of the many grasping hands before the softness turned sharp and began to cut into him. He felt something cool against the back of his legs, hair standing on end as static electricity built up on his skin where he brushed the trailing tail he hadn’t noticed her curl around him. The entity leaned in close, the depthless green of her glowing eyes consuming Tim’s entire field of vision, and he was flooded by the sudden, horrible awareness of being Known.
The world fell away from him, his stomach lurching with the sick-sweet feel of free fall that used to exhilarate him when he’d first become Robin and had flown from rooftops dangling by his grapple and his belief in the magic being Robin instilled in him. The lab, the equipment, the piles of data and desperate scribbles, the failed clones, Tim himself. All swept away in the flood of green and the roar of lightning and the cool press of glass.
He came to would could have been minutes or centuries later. Gasping and sick on the cold cement floor, shivering as he dry heaved. His mouth full of salt and copper and the burning crackle of ozone at the back of his throat.
For a moment, disoriented and dizzy, he thought it had all been a hallucination after all. Or some fractious dream visited upon him by his torn and tattered mind after he’d finally collapsed from exhaustion on the lab floor. That the entity truly had been just in his mind, a consequence of his refusal to rest until his work was done.
Then he felt the glass-cool fingers running through his hair, the warm hand rubbing at his back, heard the low murmurs of reassurance in a voice that was almost, almost human.
He spasmed as he tried to jerk away, hissing with the sharp sting of pins and needles dancing over every nerve. His limbs were heavy and clumsy, and he was crashing back to the cold floor under his own weight before he could even try and drag himself away. His breathing came in short, aching gasps as he tried to twist away, only managing to roll to his back to see the entity where it sat calmly looking down at him.
She had a face now. A solid, steady one that fit her in a way that made him think it must be her real one, though what that meant exactly he didn’t know. The glowing eyes had dimmed and shifted, more human looking with black pupils and white sclera. Button nose marked with silver-tarnish freckles that spread over her cheeks too. A mouth, with lips curled into an apologetic smile. Her hair, still shifting as if caught in a wind that wasn’t there, was still the bright white it’d been before, but the lighting of the locks had settled into faint crackles between the curls. Whatever she was, whatever she’d done to him, he could look at her without feeling like his mind might just crack in two.
“Wha-“ His voice cracked, painful and hoarse like he’d been screaming. Maybe he had been. Swallowing around the burn in his throat, he choked out a hissed, “What are you?”
Her head tilted in that curious slant again, more human features giving her a bright, youthful look as she peered down at him questioningly. “You summoned me, Little Gaffer, shouldn’t you know?”
*
Gaffer is a term used for a glass crafter, as well as light technicians for stage/movie productions. I’m using it as the term for the person who creates a Clone, with the clone themselves being a Mirrorborn, and the person they are cloned from being called the clone’s Reflected. Gaffer is probably a bit of a stretch for this, technically I think someone who makes mirrors would be called a Glazier (Glaziers are glassmakers) but I wasn’t vibing that as much. Besides I like the vibe of glass + light = mirror in a way.
Anyway, opening volley of a new AU where Tim ends up becoming like a warlock to Elle to get his loved ones back, while Elle is just having the time of her sorta eldritch little life watching this absolute mess of a human wreck shit and cause so much chaos even without the powers she starts giving him.
(Elle in this is both the God Queen of Clones/Mirrorborn as well as the Ancient of the Speedforce (which I’ve decided is called the Ever Onward in the Infinite Realms, because I literally can’t be stopped from trying to make normal DC things sound mystical because spooky Infinite Realms aesthetics haha)
Have a tiny bit more written for this, but don’t know how much I’ll end up writing for it with all the other projects I have currently lol, so if anyone is interested feel free to run with it as you so desire haha

Ella Fenton Redesign
I honestly didn’t anticipate this to take me as long as it did. I just wanted to draw a Ella that was based on the headcanon that Maddie Fenton’s hair is naturally curly.
Tumblr media
Despite having her show up in two episodes, we don’t really learn much about Ella as a character. Her clone status has always been her core theme. I hated this even as a kid. Like, come on, Ella is traveling the world! Am I being selfish for wanting a spin-off show focusing on Ella’s adventures of encountering other cultures’ mythical creatures/cryptids? My God, can you imagine if Ella got the chance to meet other liminals?! I want a supernatural spin on Dora the Explorer/ Go,Diego, Go!
Tumblr media
I don’t have any issues with OG Ella’s human outfit, so I didn’t really gravitate away from it nor it’s color scheme. I just wanted to play off the idea of Ella starting to experiment with her fashion. Mainly, the introduction of the skater skirt. They are so comfortable and pretty! Like, I wanted to show a stage were Ella is starting to realize ‘girly’ clothes doesn’t equal uncomfortable, but hasn’t dropped her tomboy vibe. Because of her travels, I gravitate to the idea of Ella being much more spiritual. Her relaxed eyes and the gradient blue shirt Ella is wearing is my attempt to show how much more ‘hippy-like’ Ella is now. Her raised right hand is a gesture of fearlessness in the beliefs of Buddha Mudra. It represents protection, peace, benevolence, and the dispelling of fear. The second meaning that I believe really speaks to Ella is overcoming fear. The biggest change I did beyond her hair is the inclusion of the scarf/veil. Despite how many people see it as a form of oppression, veiling has been a practice common in European, Asian, and African cultures throughout history. Veiling is to hide/protect the wearer from outside harm, mainly negative energies and harmful intentions. Despite how many see this as a common fabric, this veil is the main thing protecting her from Vlad. I imagine their is a sigil stitched on the inside of the the veil, but we’ll get more into that later. While I was working on her, Ella started giving me strong Romani vibes which I honestly started to fall in love with. Not only that, but I also liked the idea of Ella getting really into gremlincore/goblincore. The idea of her having mushroom accessories was adorable, but I didn’t want to get sick of working with Ella, so these ideas can be explored on a different day.
Tumblr media
I hit an even bigger wall of possibilities with Ella’s ghost form. My ultimate goal was to get rid of Ella’s mid-drift. Seriously, why was this ever a thing?! Even though I don’t dislike the idea of Ella wearing an hazmat suit like Danny, I just decided to drop it all together. With this outfit, I wanted to play on the idea of Ella “dressing to impress”. Ella is pretty observant despite her naivety. People clearly respected Vlad when he was in a suit, so she wears a dress. She wears long white gloves for a dash of sophistication. And the white tights and the long black boots are for comfort. I inverted the color of her pink veil, which got me this really cute blue that I made the main color beyond the black and white. The blue gives me ocean vibes, which is only enforced with the giant blue bow that looks like seashells to me. And once again, I was overwhelmed with a sea of ideas. I love the idea of Ella encounters being equal to meeting a straw cat on the street: Everyone wants to adopt her.
-Ella could have a Far Frozen outfit, a fur coat/shawl created with the shedded fur of the yeti’s as a sign of affection
- Ella could have a blue galaxy dress as a connection to Nocturne
- A purple cloak that matches Clockwork’s
- A blue medieval dress that Princess Dorathea gifted her
- A purple flamed medieval dress that Fright Knight stitched for her
The ghosts she decides to claim as family created the sigil that marks her for protection on her veil, but again, I got too overwhelmed by the possibilities, so I’m sticking with the simple black dress for now.
Expanding more on Ella’s ghost abilities, I wanted to expand on my headcanon of her being a slime ghost. It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who has thought of Ella having slime/acid abilities. https://www.tumblr.com/schnuffel-danny/701858169515835392/what-if-dani-used-her-natural-ability-to-melt?source=share
Tumblr media
For Ella’s slime form, I was inspired by the character Inque from Batman Beyond- mainly with metamorphosis abilities and the white face. Ella would be different with her acidic compound, but would be weak against water and ice just like Inque.
I imagine Ella first believing she’s becoming destabilized again and goes to the Ghost Zone to find Danny as he is off training in the Far Frozen. However, she is stopped by what appears to be plague doctor. He tells her that it’s a terrible idea for her to go to the Far Frozen, and decides to make her his patient, thus kidnaps her for ‘observation’. Danny finds out and tries to save her, but appears to be too late as he finds Ella in a puddle state. However, the green puddle moves, which then morphs into this slime form of Ella.
Ella needs to morph into this slime form every once in a while for her core to proper rejuvenate itself, she needing to eat a rich ecto-diet that the plague doctor offers multiple options as Ella moves between the Ghost Zone and Earth(Ella has a Fenton gadget that lets her explore more easily, deal with it). The doctor says that Ella doesn’t need to worry about destabilizing if she gets low on ectoplasam, which eases her and Danny’s worries.
The relief vanishes when Danny get’s surrounded by panicked ghosts. They tell him that his sister/cousin is on a rampage in the Ghost Zone. Worried, Danny quickly goes to see what has going on, and came face-to-face with this:
Tumblr media
Many ghosts quickly learned to always offer food tributes whenever they see Ella. Nobody wants her to ever be hungry again.
While I was drawing Ella, I remembered that she apparently likes space just like Danny. I always got the vibe she only knew of it because Vlad wanted to make her as ‘Danny-ish’ as possible, but the memory made be think of something. What if I made Ella be like The Thing from The Thing? While I drawing it, I then wondered how I was gonna make it clear that this was Ella? Then I remembered that Grandma monster from The Spongebob Movie. So, yeah, this is my Eldrith Ella I guess.
Ella has to be one of the most underrated characters in Danny Phantom. There’s so much you can do with her, yet she is always delegated into her clone status. The show treats her as an afterthought. The phandom typically treats her as an afterthought. Even google treats her as an afterthought.
Tumblr media
Ella deserves to be seen as her own person. I never want destabilization to ever be an issue for her again, for she’s more than a clone.

I've seen a lot of people writing Danny as a space ancient and Dan and Dani as ghosts with moon and sun cores, being sort of parts, versions of Danny and therefore weaker. Now, consider: Dan and Dani are both powerful ghosts with really cool cores and stuff but Danny is just some guy™
Dan, who came from an alternate timeline and is kind of from the future but also not, is Clockwork's apprentice and will eventually become an ancient of time. He probably only agreed to have some lessons with Clockwork to understand better what happened to him, but he enjoys his apprenticeship now.
Dani, with her love of travelling, loves seeing all the different places the world offers to her, and that includes space and different planets and maybe even parallel universes, and she accidentally ends up being an apprentice of the space ancient. For now she's probably a baby ancient of freedom or something like that, but she might become an ancient of space in the future.
We can also have something like Dan having a core of destruction or Dani being the Speed Force if you want it to be dcxdp, or any headcanon of yours about their cool powers.
And then there's Danny. And yeah, everyone knows that he's super powerful, but also he's just some guy.
It can go different routes. Does everyone know that Danny is just Danny? Or do they think that with siblings (well, technically a clone and an alternate version, but whatever) so powerful, he must be even stronger? Is Danny actually something terrifyingly eldritch and ancient and strong, almost a god, but he just doesn't know himself? Or is he just really some guy?
Now, because it's obvious that I have a dcxdp brainrot, have a regular "JL summons/meets a powerful ghost" but its Dan and Dani, and they keep mentioning their original/brother who won a fight against them at some point. The JL is very concerned about Dan and Dani's godlike powers, and they can't imagine what Danny is like. And then they meet him (in his human form), and it's just a young adult in casual clothes, very friendly and helpful, with no evident powers. Imagine the confusion. Imagine Dan and Dani, radiating power, in their eldritch ghost forms, admitting that fighting Danny for real is the dumbest thing to do and not even they would succeed... And then there's Danny is jeans and silly t-shirt, waving shyly.

Another de-aged Danny au, but he's with Dan & Ellie & Jazz as well.
Jason has like just arrived back to Gotham, caused chaos in the underbelly due to well, 8 heads in a duffle bag, and is just starting his takeover of Crime Alley. It's going good, great even! And then he busts some sort of gang or smuggling ring run by people in white suits and there's... holy shit why do these four toddlers have Lazarus eyes?!
Is that a lab?! And Lazarus waters?! Jason might be a bit mad but he's not an asshole, he's not going to just leave these kids here to the streets. He can't just take them to the Batclan either, and as much as he begrudgingly trusts Talia, he sure as fuck doesn't trust Ras. Who knows what he'd do to four... what are they, pit-kids?
Now he's juggling his whole revenge-thing, running a criminal empire, taking over Gotham's underbelly, and being a single dad. At least the goonion seems to be down for helping, seeing as he's making Crime Alley safer...? .... Fuck he needs some proper sleep

Danny makes a nest
So Danny was visiting Dani in the ghost zone and they both get sucked through a portal and into another universe
At first, they look around searching for another natural portal but can't find one, (Fenton luck again)
After some trial by fire they figure out if they save up enough energy they can combine their ability and make a portal themselves
But like I said, they need energy for that lots of energy
So they build a nest, which helps store energy, and helps them rest and since this universe has a fair amount of ambient ectoplasm if they make the nest out of things that have ambient ectoplasm it can cut the time in half!
So dani and Danny start building their nest
.
.
.
And JL are facing a problem
2 creatures are taking artifacts and spellbooks
They swoop in, take what they want and leave, they've tried stopping them but the creatures just ignore them
They are not often seen together but Constantine said they're very similar in structure and magic that they must be related
The odd part is they don't hurt anyone
They don't attack the JL members that try and stop them, they don't go after civilians and they only go after artifacts that contain death magic
The JL don't know what to make of it
Though they might have to up this on the priority list because when Bruce got home, Talia Al Ghul was their and the first thing she said was
"some creature took the lazerous pit"

My Dad can beat up your dad
Imagine if Ellie joined the Teen Titans (Cartoon Version)
When Trigon attacks, everybody is freaking out because how are they going to stop him? Raven is a kid, there are no other magic users around, and the Justice League is off world (idk what the canon reason is)
But Ellie is strangely calm
She mentions that her dad may be able to help, or at least be able to hold him back long enough for them to get help
Robin: How is your Dad going to stop THAT!
Ellie: Well, you know how I'm half ghost?
BB: Yeah?
Ellie: Ans you know how that one time the ghost we fought called me "Princess"?
Cyborg: yeah...
Ellie: Well the thing is, they weren't lying. My dad is the King of a Dimension called the Infinite Realms, and while he is young for a King he is still powerful.
So she calls in her dad, who is sporting the classic Ghost King Redesign, and he goes to hold Trigon back as the team comes up with a plan.
I don't like the "Insanely OP Danny" stuff too much, so for this let's just say that Danny can grow in size to be comparable to Trigon, and they have a Giant Kaiju battle in the middle of Jump City. He doesn't win, but he manages to hold on long enough for Raven to finish the Job
Also i really want Danny to start doting on Ellie, like really excited that he gets to meet his daughters friends and all that. He even pulls out some embarrassing Baby Photos from that time Ellie was reverted to her actual age.
Once he hears about Raven being Trigons daughter, he adopts her on the spot.
Raven suddenly has a new Dad, Sister, Brother (reformed dan), Aunt, Grandma and Grandpa (good parents jack and maddie) and maybe a new mom (Sam? Val? 3rd person?)
Basically I just wanted a "Kaiju Danny vs Kaiju Trigon" fight

New Danny Phantom Idea
Ghostly reversal!
Danny phantom but he’s a Zone-borne ghost who was trying to learn teleportation/portals at the same time the Fentons tried to open their portal.
And now he’s half-human!! And he can’t go too long without turning back into a human, which makes him fall through stuff in the zone.
So he starts to spend some more time in the Living Realm- sorry, Earth- and he meets some really cool mortal people, this one reminds him of Technus and this one looks like Ember but less blue and more plants.(What’s a goth?)
And they’re working to help him figure out this whole living thing. Who knew you had to eat and they couldn’t just absorb their atmosphere. Weirdos..
And of course, because he’s now in this crazy new world with all these new things to explore and what do you mean you have a place you can learn about it!!
So Danny starts going to school, except it’s kinda hard with his ghost friends coming through all the time to hang out. (Danny doesn’t really get why the people give him such weird looks for coming in when the front teacher person is already talking)
“What’s your name then kid?”
“Uh… Danny..?”
The Jock raised an eyebrow, “Danny…what, no last name loser?”
Danny froze glancing at the new human friends he’d made, both of which were freaking out and of no help.
A head of red hair blocked his vision.
“Danny fenton. He’s my little brother, Dash. Back off.”
“Danny Fenton. That’s me….” He gave a little wave as the Jock stomped off.
The new red head girl turned around with curiosity in her gaze, “Nice to meet you little brother, I have questions.”
And of course Jazz…. Well she’s just interested to see what ghosts are actually like.
From the first ghost to ever live.

Danny Phantom-- Appearances
Okay I admit I love fics and headcanons where Danny looks and comes off as something distinctly or just slightly not human to everyone. I think its a cool concept that his two forms bleed together as he uses his ghost powers in human form, transforms often and for varying periods of time, and does more casual stuff in ghost form. But if that happens to Danny, wouldn’t it happen to Dani as well?
I like to picture it like this: Danny is powerful, a fighter, a king by conquest, and thinks of himself as both having died and being alive. His Obsessions are Protection and Space. He has an Ice Core and thanks to his affinity for star gazing likes the dark more than bright lights. So as his powers mix with him going through puberty and such he develops traits. He grows tall, like as tall or even slightly taller than his already giant of a father. His pure blue ice colored eyes shine softly like stars. His skin is what poets call moonlight pale with an almost silver sheen. His hair is almost like a black hole its so dark. He has a gaze that only ever looks as empty as a corpse or as piercing as a fairy tale king’s. His canine’s look more like true fangs and all his teeth are white as snow. Despite never seeming to work out beyond running he’s built like a Greek hero statue. His fingers look too elegant for someone built like he is and his nails almost look like he filed them into points. And whenever he talks in anything other than a whisper or a mumble his voice carries and echoes in a way that it’s impossible to ignore a single word.
Then you have Dani. She’s more powerful than most but she never really had a reason to become anything overly special so its more just because she was born like that. She’s a free spirit, someone who broke their chains and now lives unbound by any kind of ‘destiny’ and goes and does as she pleases. She’s a traveler, a wanderer, an explorer. She likes meeting new people and seeing new places around the world. She sees herself as someone who was just born different and thinks that since she was always a half-breed she never really died, meaning she was more... human adjacent. Her Obsessions are Discovery, Freedom, and Experiencing Wonder. So as she grows up her body takes these things on. Her eyes are the blue of a warm spring day’s sky, her hair dark as a winter night. Her smile is welcoming and filled with perfect teeth. She has a healthy fair complexion that never burns or tans. Her hands are soft despite the many hands on tasks she does. She was just above average height and had a physique that was lean and graceful, her walk almost fluttery as if she was almost dancing whenever she moved faster than a slow walk. When she talked her words were lilting, soft, and clear, easily drawing people into conversations. Her gaze was welcoming, joyous, and expressive, putting people at ease when they locked eyes with her.
Danny was a inhumanly powerful being, his might impossible to miss or ignore. He was a King who had cut down demons and godly beings alike and now stood atop their defeated forms.
Dani was a maiden from a fairy tail. She captured people’s attention and hearts without even trying or meaning to. She was something everyone wanted to grab a hold of or become, but both desires were forever out of their reaches.
What do you all think?

Okay here me out:
dp x dc writing prompt where Dani ends up exhausted (and maybe a little weak from traveling for so long, maybe she got in a fight and is hurt) and finding shelter in a nice barn with a friendly cow in it, curling up in a dark corner to rest and recover where she’s pretty sure no one will notice her until she's ready to take off again.
And because her form since stabilizing has always been a bit prone to sliding away from more human and into the more eldritch when she's tired, she appears less like a human girl and more like an more humanoid-ish shadow creature. Emphasis on the creature.
Damian is a responsible pet owner, he makes sure to go around feeding everyone first thing in the mornings, even on weekends, and because of his training he has a sharp eye for things that aren't quit right, so he spots this...thing curled up in the corner immediately.
His first instinct is to fight it - it managed to get past all their security measures, it's an unknown, it could be a danger to his family, or worse BatCow - but then Alfred-the-cat jumps down from the hay bail the creature is curled up behind and lands on it. The creature gives a pained little noise, but doesn't strike out or hurt the cat, just turns glowing green eyes up at it and meets Alfred-the-cat's little mrrp with one of it's own and buts it's shadowy head against the cat.
And Damian, maybe a little more tired then usual up so early after a long night fighting rogues as Robin, just comes to the conclusion that - while obviously a supernatural creature of some variety- it clearly has been adopted by Alfred-the-cat as a kitten and equally adopted the cat back as it's caretaker. And separating them would be detrimental to both.
So obviously this is just another pet for him to take care of, especially when he realizes that Bruce-the-shadow (it only seemed appropriate since Alfred-the-cat adopted the creature) is injured.
Dani is a little too out of it to fully get what's going on at first, just vaguely aware of someone that looks a bit like Danny saying something to her and trying to check on her injuries - he must have found her, one of the local ghosts must have told him what was going on - so she just lets him because she knows how he gets.
The rest of the family thinks it's a bit weird that Damian has been spending so much more time down at the barn recently, but hey it keeps him from getting into fights with his siblings and they all get the need for some alone time now and then.
Things only start getting weird when Dani starts realizing it's not her original/brother/father taking care of her but instead some kid her age, but by then Damian has started talking to Bruce-the-Shadow the same way he does his other pets, sharing the things he feels he can’t share with anyone else, and she sees that same loneliness and unwillingness to trust that she feels and really with the bruises the kid keeps showing up with she worries okay?
So she sticks around, even after she's all healed and could take off again, keeping her form shadowy and doing her best to keep an eye on her new...friend? Friend.
Cut to Damian ending up in some bad fight and Dani as Bruce-the-shadow showing up to save him and BatFam is concerned™️ about what the fuck that thing is, and Danny getting worried because he hasn't seen his clone/sister/daughter in a bit and she usually at least checks in by now and deciding to go look for her.

Day Three: Eldritch Entity
i literally can’t believe it’s day three already!!! okay, but this story idea has been bouncing around in my brain for a while and i’m so happy to get an excuse to write it. i’m thinking about turning this one into a series, so if you’re interested let me know!!!
ao3 link!
Kate’s Masterlist here!
Trust Only the Dark - 2.2k words
Dani clutched her stomach as she stumbled down the dark cave system, the only light the greenish glow of the blood dripping between her clenched fingers.
Vlad’s stupid bounty hunters finally got a lucky shot after months of stalking. One she didn’t know if she’d survive.
She stumbled over a rock, her knees hitting the ground hard. The pain in her knees magnified by the ache everywhere else. It hurt. Everything hurt.
She blinked away tears as she watched her blood drip onto the ground.
That’s when she saw it.
The shadows crept around her, moving and stretching around the jagged rocks. A shiver ran down her spine as they started collecting in the dips of the cavern walls, thickening into swirling shapes. It reminded her of Johnny’s shadow or Vlad’s shades.
The pools of darkness slowly slithered together, into a large mass in front of her. She watched in fascination as it began to form a humanoid-like shape, sharp at the edges like static but drifting in and out of view like fog.
At its center, two glowing circles formed. They were pure white balls of gas against the darkness, which made them all the more intimidating.
The creature moved its long spider-like limbs skulking towards her like she was a wounded animal. Logically, she knew she should be afraid, that she should run away as far as she could and never look back.
But as she stared into the burning eyes of the creature, she couldn’t bring herself to run. There was something too. . . familiar.
“What,” its voice was a sound somewhere between tv static and shattering glass, the words barely recognizable, “you?”
It stretched out a long, knifelike finger, pointing at her.
Before she could think any better of it, she reached out too. As she neared its out-stretched extremity it screeched, slicing her hand and pulling back into itself.
She gasped, pulling her hand back into her. The scratch on her hand was deep, deep enough that she could see bone, and the sting was amplified by the pain already pulsing through her body. She hissed as she switched which hand was pressing down on her stomach wound so that way her uninjured one could also press down on this wound.
Soon she was gonna run out of hands.
She looked up at the creature as it shifted uneasily back into the crevices like it was waiting for her to attack it.
“I’m sorry,” her voice was barely more than a whisper, but the shadow tilted its head like it understood, “I didn’t mean to—ahh,” she groaned in pain as her head spun. She panted, taking deep breaths until it subsided a bit. She was losing a lot of blood.
And fast.
When she looked back up, the creature had inched forward a bit, its glowing white eyes almost curious.
“What you?” it asked again, this time keeping its distance.
“I’m. . . I’m nothing,” She bowed her head, tears pricking her eyes, “I’m something that’s not supposed to exist. Something no one cares about.” The words were thick in her throat but they were the truth. "I'm just a phantom," she laughed bitterly.
No one cared about her, whether she lived or died. Not really. Not because they actually cared about her or would miss her. They just because they didn’t like death, even less so when they played a passive part. She understood that after all her travels.
The difference between people caring about you and just not wanting to see you die.
The silhouette shifted, getting closer. This time she stayed still, not wanting to frighten it again. She knew what it was like to lash out because you were scared and you were used to people hurting you, she’d seen it so many times—hell she'd done it before.
“Hurt?” it reached out its finger again, this time slower. It dipped the sharp edge in her blood that was pooling on the ground.
She watched as it examined the slightly glowing substance. It looked curious and cautious, but no longer afraid.
“Yeah,” she laughed humorlessly, “he got a lucky shot in. Real lucky.” She smiled grimly up at the thing. Surely it knew she wasn’t going to make it out of this.
It continued to study her. Circling her. She watched the shadows bend and swirl around her like it was trying to engulf her. She continued to stay still, she was dying here anyways. There wasn’t any point in fighting.
Once it finished. . . whatever it was doing, the shadows gathered in front of her again, this time in a much smaller, almost human-shaped form. This time when it held out its claw-like hand it wasn’t scared. It was sure.
“I help,” it said.
Dani looked from its outstretched hand to its white, glowing gaze. Whatever this thing was, it seemed to think she was worth helping. She didn’t quite understand, but she decided that maybe she didn’t have to.
She slowly reached out and took its hand. It felt more solid than she expected it to. It was cold—which was something coming from her—and clammy like fresh snow melting under her touch. It pulled her to her feet, giving her a moment to catch her balance.
It lead her down the long dark cavern, though it didn’t so much as walk, but glide around the bumps and spikes on the ground. It was oddly fascinating to watch, even as she felt her brain becoming more and more cloudy.
She lost a lot. More than even a halfa should. It wouldn’t be long before she collapsed, leaving only a puddle of goo on the rocky ground. At least she wouldn't be alone.
Maybe that's why she was following the creature. Despite everything, even though she knew this creature didn't care for her, she was too scared to truly die alone.
They took twists and turns Dani didn’t understand, moving from one cavern to the next. Just when she thought she didn’t have it in her to keep going, she saw a soft green light emanating from the entrance of a new cave system.
The creature lead her to the cavern, and Dani couldn’t believe what she was seeing.
There was a small pool of a viscous green liquid, swirling around and around in a familiar pattern.
It was ectoplasm.
Her whole body could feel its presence and it ached to consume it. She moved forward, unable to control the pure need in her core. As she got closer she could tell it wasn’t quite right.
It wasn’t like the ectoplasm she knew, it was. . . wrong. Tainted. It was some kind of darkness he couldn't identify, not beyond the surface level.
Still her body craved it. It needed it. If she didn’t consume it she’d die right here. Right now.
She stepped into the pool, feeling the ectoplasm surrounding her skin. It was like a cool balm on her burning muscles, quieting the persistent pain to a dull ache. With each step deeper, she could feel the foreign emotions flooding her system.
There was so much pain. So much fear. So many people had died in Gotham so suddenly, it made sense that it left a tangible mark on the city, a place where the leftover emotions lingered.
Still, she went deeper. Voices started whispering in her ears, distant and indistinguishable. It didn't matter. She continued until she could let herself fall back into the pit, letting the ectoplasm engulf her.
The ectoplasm rushed to her wounds, stitching the skin back together and mixing into her bloodstream.
The voices got louder. The cries and screams of the dead echoed in her ears, they were so lonely. So scared. They didn’t deserve this pain, all this pain—gods there was so much.
She sank deeper and deeper until her back hit the jagged ground.
There was still fear and pain and anger, but there was something else too. Something warmer. Happier.
There was love.
There was hope.
So many loved this city. Loved it so deeply that a part of them got left behind. Had so much faith in it that they never truly believed in anything else. Had so much hope for it that it continued to live on in the very concrete under their feet.
It was unlike anything Dani had ever felt.
It was tragic. It was kind. It was purpose.
Something she lacked. That's why she was falling apart to begin with—she was a ghost without an obsession. A human without a family. She had nothing. Was nothing.
But Gotham. It was so much. So much it hurt.
Dani pushed off the ground and rose to the surface, feeling the cold night air on her wet skin. She gasped filling her lungs and found that just breathing the Gotham air felt different. It felt sweeter. Tangier.
She tried to orient herself, letting the intense feelings fade to a dull roar in the back of her mind. She didn’t know if she’d ever be free of them after that. She wasn't sure she wanted to.
Here there was purpose. There was love.
How could she go back to a life without it?
She stared out at the cave, and almost missed the creature as it slunk back into the darkness.
“Wait,” she called out to it. The thick liquid swished around her as she tried to get out. “Thank you. For saving me.”
It tilted its head in acknowledgment and began to pull back again.
“Don’t go!” She struggled, trying to move even faster but thankfully it froze, seemingly unsure what to do. As she got closer she could see the marks across its dark form, like it’d been torn apart and stitched back together. She wondered if that's why it was so afraid at first.
She reached out but didn't touch it, “You’re hurt too.”
Her words were quiet, but they seemed so loud in the small space.
If she focused, really focused, she could feel the hurt radiating off the creature. But just like the ectoplasm, past the layers of darkness and anger, at its core there was love. Unbelievable, almost unbearable love. There was so much it hurt.
“I curse,” its form sagged in sadness.
“Curse?” she asked. She'd never known a curse to take form, and she'd certainly never seen one so attached to something.
It raised its finger and tapped the space between her eyes. As it did, her vision blurred and she was thrown into what she could only describe as a premonition.
As rows of women were lined up on the gallows, their broken voices calling out to the skies in harmony.
“Gotham will never know peace. Gotham will never know peace. Even after we're deceased, we will haunt your masterpiece, the blood will run in the streets. Gotham will never know peace.”
The promise cracked over their sobs as the men prepared to pull the boxes out from under them. The singing only faltered for a moment as the women dropped, the crack of their necks sickeningly audible in the moment of silence.
As the lifeless bodies swung in the wind the women behind them continued the haunting melody.
Dani gasped, bile rising into her throat. She wanted to cry, to scream and collapse. Those people, all those poor innocent people—gods.
She looked up into the sad eyes of the creature, the puzzle pieces slowly falling into place.
“You’re Gotham?”
Gotham made a noise she interpreted as agreement and moved back from her again, trying to hide in the dips of the cave. It was. . . ashamed of what it was. Dani could relate.
“It’s not fair,” she smiled at it sadly but didn’t move any closer, “that you got caught in the crossfire. I don’t blame you. Sometimes it’s hard to be anything but what people make you. I’d know.”
She looked down at her hands. She was nothing without Vlad, yet she was nothing with him.
She could feel the voices of Gotham’s people deep inside her wrapping her in warmth like they were comforting her. Huh.
She looked up at Gotham, its cautious white eyes staring back at her.
Gotham saved her. It embraced her. It loved her, and not because it had to, but because it saw something in her worth loving. Worth fighting for.
Dani held her hand out to Gotham, a single thought solidifying in her mind, “Let me help you. We can share the burden.”
She smiled as the Curse crept forward on uneasy limbs, examining her from all angles.
It reached out and wrapped its thick hand around hers, cautious of its claws.
Dani felt a surge of cold power rush through her, like the ocean breeze on a hot day. It settled underneath her skin, pulling at her core until it completely wrapped around it.
She could feel the streets of Gotham carve themselves into her bones. The hopes of its people settle in her chest. It’s pain in her muscles. She could see and feel everything all at once.
Dani opened her eyes, the Curse still stared back at her but it was different. Smaller. Lighter.
The sound of a baby's first laugh rang distantly in her ears as she felt an old woman take her last breath. Her core sang in harmony with the distant church bells.
The Curse smiled back. It took their joint hands and lead her down the cavers into the very heart of the city.
Exactly where they should be.

Quotes about the strange nature of Taliesin's existence - Day 33
Taliesin: "Have you ever had a pre-war Twinkie, when they were using banana cream?" Dani: "Well, no, none of us were alive then, except for you."

Y’know, there’s a bunch of Billy adopted by Danny Phantom stories and prompts. But what if instead he was adopted by reformed Dan Phantom.
Give him a dad who is trying his best not to murder but Billy is making it very hard not to at least commit a few crimes. It’s just a few, right? It couldn’t be that bad, but he is trying this whole self-restraint thing.  He hasn’t failed. Yet.

I agonized over which to pick because I just want to ask about all your fics in progress!! I narrowed it down to two and that's just going to have to be ok
the world is staged and the script is set (you cannot change the ending)
Jukeboxes and Maple Syrup
Tumblr media
its very funny you pick those two because those like. two of the only three on that list that ISNT lord huron related lmao. those are both hatchetfield fics ive started in secret. regardless those are the main ones im working on right now SO
the world is staged and the script is set (you cannot change the ending) is a fic based on the ending of TGWDLM where like. you know how in the credits where Emma starts begging the audience for help? and like. you know how in TTO how the audience is also referred to by Bliklotep's title? soooo the fic is the ending but i throw him in the mix and ramp the already existing horror of "begging for help and being ignored a cheering crowd" by going "realizing said crowd has been treating your suffering and death as a source of amusement right before you die". only fun times in hatchetfield
"She stumbles to the edge of the stage. The stitches in her leg have come undone and there’s blood seeping through the bandage. That is real. Emma is real, and she needs to help right now."
Jukeboxes and Maple Syrup is a fic that takes place directly after the end of Yellow Jacket that focuses on Daniel and Sophia like. right after the ending. we dont really see them after the Otho fight and we still have no clue is Sophia is even ALIVE and also i miss them dearly. the fic mostly focuses on Daniel trying not to have a panic attack in Miss Retros because one friend is missing after almost dying and the other is in the hospital after also almost maybe dying and he doesn't really know what to do. Not a whole lot of plot it's mostly him trying to deal with that whole. mess. luckily he's got Miss Holloway and Duke to make things a bit easier (responsible adults? in MY hatchetfield? its honestly only these two but its better than nothing)
"He feels so stupid. Sophia is in the hospital and she might never wake up. Hannah is missing and could be kidnapped or dead or worse. And he’s just sitting here in a cozy diner with pancakes and orange juice, and Hannah’s Jacket but not Hannah and not Sophia."

I want Constantine to bitch slap amanda waller
So an unknown magical entity has been attacking and demolishing government labs and servers
There doesn't seem to be any connection between the attacks so the JL are confused
At first, they send in superman, but he can only get out that he works for the JL before the creature attacks him. He woke up 1 week later in Kansas, in civilian clothing and with a black eye
The worst part is he can't describe it in detail, the creature's form is constantly shifting and changing, one moment it was nothing more than a clump of limbs and organs the next it looked like a shadow brought to the 4D world, and the next it looks like a teenage boy, even his abilities can't get a proper read on it
So they keep sending JL members to try and deal with it while the creature just shows up, destroys the government building, and disappears
Eventually, they talk to Constantine about it and he comes to the conclusion that the entity for whatever reason sees the JL as its enemy when superman asked what it was john told them he's never seen something like this but its powerful, ancient and pissed off
so john (after promises of booze, repaid debts and a lot of favours) agrees to meet the creature and find out what it wants
What no one was expecting was for the creature to take Constantine with it when it disappeared
2 weeks later john shows up in a government meeting looking pissed
Before he can be questioned he struts up to amanda waller and slaps her out of her seat
:YOU PHYCO! BECAUSE OF YOUR FUCKING IDIOCY WE MIGHT HAVE A FUCKING WAR WITH THE INFINET REALMS!
After that, he steals her access card, teleports to the highest security facility and breaks something out
When the JL get there they see john profusely apologising
The creature was there in a much more...visible form holding a child...wearing clothing with experment numbers
