In Your Arms
You encircle me in your arms, pulling me so close that I can feel your heart thudding against mine, and I am glad to know that it beats as erratically as my own. I can count every hair on your head, see the way your eyes fill with stars when you see me, smell that invigoratingly familiar scent of lemon and chocolate, glance upon every perfection and flaw and know it is mine because you are mine.
I feel safe, enclosed in your arms. I feel safe when you whisper sweet nothings to me, because although they're nothing to you, they mean everything to me.
Every touch of yours feels like fire, dropping sparks on my body. When you hug me, all my thoughts muddle and the only thing I can think about is you.
You. With your angelic, contagious laugh. With the way your eyes crinkle when you grin. The soft way with which you take my name, as if it is a delicate glass ornament. With the way your acne scars create shapes and faces for me to trace on your cheeks.
With that one lock of hair that tickles my temples when you kiss me. With the way you hold me as if I am the only solid thing in the world. Your little frog-shaped mouth. The way your mouth stretches over your teeth when you see me. With the way you make all the colours in the world brighter. With the way you make the sun look pale in comparison to your glowing face and the beauty it holds.
I would be an expert in cartography, if only you were the world I was mapping. I could write a million books tracing every feature of yours, and yet, it would never be enough.
When you encircle me in your arms, you make me feel emotions I never thought I was worthy of feeling - never thought I could feel. A multitude of happiness, only for you.
When you tell me you love me, I feel like I'm floating. When you call me pretty, I feel like somebody.
In your arms, I am happy and I am sad and I am angry and I am whatever and whoever I want to be.
You pull away now, looking at me with an emotion I can't decipher, until I realise you make the same expression as I do when I am staring at you.
I love you. And I love the way you love me too.
-X-
I was feeling really happy these past few months and I realised today that I was in love. I wanted to write a story about it, because the emotions I felt were too strong to be pushed underneath (like I do to every other emotion), and as a sort of consoling for me, because when the person I love could never love me back, I could look at this and be reminded of all the happy things he gave me. I wanted to write about how much I feel when I am hugged by someone I love. It seems I am too happy right now to write anything coherent, so it's up for your interpretation. Once again, all sorts of comments are appreciated, and if you have any tips or criticism, don't be shy, I love interacting with you all!.

Hey! I love your blog so much, and I'm so happy that I found it (it's helped a lot)!
I was wondering if you could do a list of flowers that mean (or fall into the category of/are similar to):
Obsession, Obsessive love, 'til death do us part, I want your attention, I belong to you, you belong to me, etc., etc.
Along with this, I'd also like to know what flowers are native to New Jersey (And also which ones bloom in the fall, if any?)
Thank you, and have a lovely day!
That should be possible with some creativity given that obsession and bonding don’t exist as meanings themselves, but it leans well enough into the Victorian flower language to get something out of it still. Hope there’s something in here that works for your story.
arbor vitae – live for me, unchanging friendship
baby’s breath – everlasting love, innocence, pure of heart
bay leaf – I change but in death/dying
