Painted when Lassnig was 86 years old, You or Me? (Du oder Ich) was one of a series of Nachtbilder (night pictures) among her drastic era. Rife with visual puns, Lassnig bares herself to the viewer in a moment of confrontation, forcing the passive spectator to become an active participant in her ultimatum.
I’ve been working on a drawing that involves a blacksmith lit by a cool light source on one side and the firelight from the forge on the other side, and I’m losing my mind over it (in a good way.) One of the best photos I’ve ever used for a light study. EeeeEEEE! (There are also 5,348 bricks and stones making up the forge, so there’s that) But mainly it’s very very fun.

Deux des protagonistes du triptyque en cours ; pierre angulaire de la série de toiles que j'achève actuellement. Un flabellum de touches, des coins des yeux jusqu'aux bouches !

Two characters from my current triptych; cornerstone of the series of canvases I'm actually finishing. Few brush strokes from the corner of your eyes to your mouth ¡
