This AU was made based on my first playthrough of Bugsnax, my headcanons, and some of my grievances with it. Mostly giving Filbo more importance in the story. He's proactive in this lol. Sprout also does more too and isn't restrained to the ball.

The Grumps have now crossed over from “this case is stupid” to legitimate rage when it comes to Turnabout Big Top. You can tell Arin’s rage side is coming out when he shouted, “WHO WROTE THIS?!” when it came to the joke about Max’s bust. And Dan is doing the thing where he’s sounding tired and defeated, which usually means he’s mad.

What’s funny is that they’re angry at the case for a different reason than most of the people who played it already. I noticed that most people hate Big Top for the underaged Regina worship, or the love triangle. But the Grumps hate Big Top because the jokes aren’t funny, the story isn’t good, and they hate all the characters. They didn’t even notice the Regina age issue until a few episodes into the story.

It’s to the point where they’re convinced a different writer was in charge of this episode, when the truth is that it was Takumi who wrote this. It’s just he was drunk as hell and Capcom gave him as much time for one case in the original game to write ALL of Justice for All.

The Journalist (AU + Journalistsona)

Here is my version of the Journalist invited to Snaktooth; introducing Budleguard Kibblequill!

Due to Tumblr compressing the quality (HHHHH) I'm providing the captions (and additional info) below:

Splatterpelt Grumpus (Grump with two toned fur)

Pronouns: They/Them

Age: 25

Fur: Long, curly (They poof up after they get dried after every shower.)

Bio: Budleguard (aka Buddy) is the journalist sent by GNN, yet something isn't quite... grumpus(?) about them. For one, their eyes thin into cat-like slits, depending on their emotions, which is nearly unheard of for the most part in grumpus-kind.

AND they never seem to get broken bones (Eggabell found this out after Buddy jumped from the top of Frosted Peak). Strange indeed, but they managed to get everyone off Snaktooth with their ship so, they're good... right?

Inventory:

Journal - Given to Buddy from Beffica, decorated with stickers from their bestie.

Snakalator - A strange device used to listen to Bugsnax (fixed by Alaver). Gurgling can be heard from inside...

Snakpack - A backpack with various, paw-knitted upgrades from Gramble. Very soft and element resistant! (Yes this includes fire and lava - Buddy still doesn't know how Gramble got such materials).

Snaxscope - Buddy's trusty camera; still works after 6 years of usage. Sturdy stuff!

Buddy's Fossil(?) - They seem to be keen on protecting it, but even they aren't sure why. It's light yet warm.
