Project : Disrupt

Week : 11th Dec - 15th Dec

As I finished my painting of my guitar smashing still, I wanted to create a colourful background for it to contrast the dark tones in the figure.

I decided to print off some of the covers of my favourite albums. I believe the songs and bands from these albums that I chose reflect the impulsive, hectic action of destroying a guitar.

With the print-outs, I made a collage to form the background for my painting. I stuck the painting itself onto the collage with masking tape at the back, to create a relief.

Oh nono, anon, thank you for your concern, but don't worry, I still get a ton of nice asks! I don't think requesting a progress update is rude, really - I specifically chose to answer those since I know I don't drop content as regularly as I once used to, and giving an update is the least I can do.

And I actually got an electric guitar recently! I have experience with other string instruments, so I can fire chords on it no problem, but I still have a lot to learn when it comes to technique. It's tons of fun and I can't way to finally integrate some live guitar into my songs:)

Almost choked on my milkshake just now when I thought about the idea of Jenny being alive and her and Giles being together when Guitar Hero came out. And she thinks it’s a good way to ease him out of his technophobia. He’s dismissive of it at first because he doesn’t think it compares to the actual skill required to play the guitar. But after a bit of light teasing, he plays it and crushes it. Jenny is impressed, and it’s the only video game he doesn’t mind playing with her. And she admits she likes it when he plays his real guitar better.
