Will write

- I only Scarlet and Violet and Sun and Moon for right now, though that’ll expand eventually!

- I write for the gym leaders (minus Iono), the elite four, the teachers, and the professors.

- When it comes to shipping I only do x reader content. I’ve never been super big on shipping, but I enjoy from the sidelines! However, I am open to doing general headcanons about canon characters! If two characters would be friends, a group of characters doing a specific activity together, etc.

- Unless otherwise specified, I only write reader as gender neutral. I’m totally open to writing reader as gendered though, just let me know in your request!

- In relation to the above point, I will happily write trans readers, and canon characters as trans as well! More than happy to even! There’s not enough of it.

- Polyamory!

- Romantic, platonic, or even queer platonic scenarios. I’m also open to found family. Best trope is character seeing a kid and being like “Is anyone gonna adopt that?” but not wait for an answer.

- I’m open to doing NSFW. I’ve never done it before, so it may take me a sec to get around to at first.

- Open to writing for heavier topics regarding mental health, or health in general, as long as I feel like I can do it justice, and it’s not gratuitous angst. I’ll probably pull from my own experiences if it’s something I struggle with as well, or will ask people I know.

- Keep requests to like, 3 or 4 per person each time the inbox is open. I tend to close it around 20 or so requests, just for my own sake and I wanna make sure everyone who wants to gets a chance to send something in can! Thank you :D

- Crossovers! Total guilty pleasure of mine. I think they’re super fun and silly. Examples could be: Character with S/O who is a witch like in The Owl house, how would Character react to This Media, how would the Gym Leaders fare on Total Drama Island. Idk, go ham bro. I indulge in a lot of media, so there’s really no list of fandoms I’ll do this for. Just send something in and I’ll see what I can do!

Note: I won’t do crossover requests for the following fandoms: Harry Potter, Hazbin Hotel, or Attack on Titan. Might add more over time if I remember? I’d just rather not make content for any of these properties.

That being said, this is just for funsies, so I totally reserve the right to delete a request if it makes me uncomfortable or I uhhh just can’t think of anything for it.

Hiii, first-time anon here!! I just found BK at chapter 30 and I have no clue why I haven't found it sooner skfjsk Don't know what I was doing without this work of art in my life, don't wanna go back~

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your writing so much!!! The story's flow, the little interactions between MC and Ajax and literally everything else is so well-thought-out <3 Your wording is so very pretty as well, it really made me feel like a princess, and brought MC to life perfectly :)

I read E V E R Y T H I N G from the beginning to chapter 30 in one sitting (took nearly 2 hours if you were wondering, I wish academic reading was this easy ;-;). It's funny how I got to around chapter 18, I thought that was bad. Like, really bad. I then found out the pain only intensifies, but it's so good!!! I only cried a few times, got jumpscared with chapter 31, cried some more, and now I'm here :D

The character arcs for MC and Ajax are so beautiful too!! It's absolutely seamless, and it's really amazing to see them slowly grow familiar to and fall in love with each other more n more <3 What they did what really understandable, but that does not excuse a certain someone from being an ass >:( I love our Princess so much, Ajax definitely doesn't deserve her and everything she did for him, especially after that trick he pulled in chapter 30 and the whole Lumine drama </3 I would say she needs to give him a hard time before forgiving him, but ah.

And there are so many questions left. What will our family and friends from Liyue do? Maybe this explains MC's past vision of Zhongli with the unknown woman? I thought that meant he'd move on from MC eventually but I absolutely did NOT expected this :( There's also vision of Ajax under the tree... It'd be so heartbreaking if MC first thought he was scheming to hurt her and her people, when he's just really praying to have her back. I think he never learnt about Duke Maxim too. If he can't even do that right for our Princess I'll be so mad xD

Thank you so much for writing this beautiful piece <3 It's easily one of my favourite works EVER and I'm sure it'll stay there forever! I can't wait to see the next chapters and your new work, I'm sure they'll be just as wonderful if not more than what you've written (BK will always be special though <3)

Hi I just found your blog so I was wondering In your playthrough were you able to keep everyone alive? Do have any fav scenes? Who are ur fav characters/and leave fav?

Hiii welcome!

In my first playthrough, I think I only killed Abi accidentally, because I got both her and Emma bitten and whaddayaknow, turns out, Emma still kills Abi :D Even though Emma was bit later than Abi, she turned and killed poor Abs anyway. I thought I was a genius for having two wolves in the same room, I thought they'd just be like okay, two werewolves hanging out, no killings. Big nope on that :)

My fav scene, for reasons that are between me and God, is when Laura bites Ryan. It just plays on every werewolf string I have in my whole entire body :D I also love the Travis-Laura-Ryan fighting were!Chris scene, and I LOVE the one where Dylan pushes Kaitlyn out of the way when they find were!Emma. My sweet boyyyy!

And if I have to list the fac characters... Here we go!

Travis - because family drama is my everything, and he's an immensely interesting character to think about.

Laura - because my girl pulled a Sarah Connor and turned herself from a typical genre character into a fighter with her will, her wits, and her eye patch.

Dylan - he's the best most wholesome protective dude ever, I just love him!

Kaitlyn - the game doesn't show her a lot which is a crime, but I love her spirit and her no-nonsense attitude. Plus she really kicks ass!

Max - he's just a bit puppy and I adore what they have with Laura! He has that sidekick-but-also-an-anchor-to-the-main-character thing going on, and I respect that.

Emma - because she's a multi-faceted character and I admire her street-smart vibe when it counts. She holds herself like a pro. Also, taking a werewolf pic? Best girl.

Jacob - when it comes to him, I'm that Office meme: - You don't have all the facts! - Which are? - I love him. 'Nuff said.

Ryan - I didn't particularly like him, although his dry sense of humour was really cool sometime.

Nick - LISTEN I hated that shit but then I made myself feel sorry for him and now I don't hate him as much. Still, me no dig. I saw a post somewhere and the person said that Nick's story never changes no matter how you play the game, he's always there, then he gets bitten, then he fucks off. Couldn't agree more. (also if the author sees it lmk I'll tag you or reblog your post!)

Abi - I'm sorry, she was just bland and boring. I'm nagging at this game for not giving the characters any particular development, but and Abi here is the worst case. On that note, I'm watching Modern Family now and I didn't recognize Ariel Winter right away, but then I did and I have to say, she's a much better actress than I could have thought of her from the game.

I'm not sure when you stopped watching k-dramas, or what genres you like, so I'll just recommend way too many and you can pick what sounds good?

Great K-Dramas in a Variety of Genres:

Fight for My Way (slice of life/romcom): I love this drama! Always a fave for me, this drama is funny and heartwarming! The leading lady is a strong female which I LOVE, and Park Seo Joon plays her really cute down to earth best friend. It’s a childhood friends to lovers trope with a group of regular people (no rich heirs in this show!) and has a happy ending and a lot of cute flirting, cuddling and kissing. Argh I love these two!

Terius Behind Me (Action/Adventure): FBI agent goes under disguise as a babysitter! While there are some intense parts of this drama because it’s a crime thriller, the characters are super funny and all work perfectly together to create a comedic element. Honestly this show was almost perfect for me, and I’m very picky.

Shopping King Louie (romcom): Ridiculously fun and lighthearted romp following a spoiled and useless chaebol with amnesia who is being taken care of by a country bumpkin in the city. Very low stakes, super adorable couple, and as many tropes as you can fit in your bag, this one is one of my favorites to recommend.

Flower of Evil (psychological thriller): A psychological thriller centered around a jewelry maker who is running from his past, and his cop wife (power couple alert!) who doesn’t know his original identity. The chemistry of the couple is amazing and all of the characters are nuanced and interesting. I was on the edge of my seat, AND sobbing! Also, I finally understand Lee Jun Ki stans, he was SO GOOD in this!

Extraordinary You/ A Day Found By Chance (fantasy/romance): This magical k-drama has my heart. It plays with all of the predictable tropes and then just goes crazy! While not perfect towards the end, I give this show bonus points for being super creative AND inspiring me to read a LOT of fan fic. I think about this drama more than any other.

Extracurricular (thriller): An unusual, fast paced thriller about an introverted high school boy mixed up in a prostitution ring. His crush gets involved and well, I don’t want to say what happens but it’s a wild and crazy ride. There really is not another k-drama like it. I like to refer to it as the least k-drama-y kdrama I’ve ever seen.

Where Your Eyes Linger (BL web drama romance): A super cute BL web drama about a boy who is hired to be his friend’s body guard. There is a lot of tension and pining, and I fell in love with the stories pacing and the chemistry between the two leads.

Just Between Lovers (romance/melo): Slice of Life romance between poor trauma babies just trying to live! The OTP is one of my favorite couples EVER and even as the years go on, very few couples have matched their love in my opinion. There’s a lot of comfort/healing themes with for me is just *chef’s kiss.* Lee Junho became my bias wrecker because of that drama.

Have a Nice Dessert (another cute web drama): If you’re looking for low angst and a super soft boy, this is your drama!! It’s a web drama (youtube) about a girl who loves photographing desserts and the boy who likes her. Like all web dramas, it’s short, and there’s really no time for angst and breakups :)

The Best Hit / Hit The Top (romcom): A famous 90′s boyband dude travels into the future and meets up with his family and friends in this really cute drama featuring Yoon Shi Yoon. I LOVE Yoon Shi Yoon in pretty much everything but this role was made for him - he is hilarious. It’s a slice of life but features the k-pop music industry so the setting is unique.

The Smile Has Left Your Eyes (psychological thriller): This drama has a lot of psychological thriller-y aspects but the style of filming is really interesting and the leads could not be more angsty (especially the guy). It takes them a while to get together and while not entirely pleasant, this show is one of my faves.

Into The Ring (workplace/romcom): The perfect slice-of-life rom com! Goo Se Ra has trouble holding down a job due to her passionate personality so after she loses her latest job working for the ML, she decides to run for a small government office position because it pays a salary. Literally she does it for the money which is just *chef’s kiss.* The show is about her dealing with local politics and it’s SO FUNNY and smart and the OTP is the best!

Hospital Playlist (workplace/friendship): This slice-of-life drama featuring five college friends who all work at the same hospital came to my mind first. Chae Song-Hwa is one of the most interesting characters I’ve ever seen in a drama and I love the depth and care the drama gives to every single person featured. There is some romance but it’s the hospital and friendship dynamics that make this show a must see.

Psycho But It’s Okay (melo/romance): A gorgeous k-drama using fairytale narrations as a backdrop, features two brothers who lost their mother, and a beautiful & famous author who grew up in a traumatic and abusive household. Everyone is very closed off and holding onto intense pain, but the three come together to help one another move on and find happiness. Gorgeous angsty and melodramatic romance. Best friendship ever, and literally the prettiest lady I have ever seen.

Age of Youth 1 (slice of life): Age of Youth/ Hello My Twenties is one of the best k-dramas that centers around strong female friendships. A group of wildly different girls find themselves rooming together in an apartment. Lots of romance too, but the girl’s lives and friendships are the primary focus.

Her Private Life (romcom): Park Min Young really knows how to pick dramas. I loved this one about a museum curator who is secretly a fangirl obsessed with an idol. It’s fun and fluffy but does have a very mild childhood trauma thing with his mother but I mean, 99% of dramas like this do? If you like this one, Touch Your Heart and Why Secretary Kim are by the same person and have similar vibes.

Thirty But Seventeen (romance/found family): Precious puppies with past trauma! Don’t be turned off by the shows description as it turned out to be one of the best surprises of 2018 for me. The leads are lovely and everyone relies and supports one another - it’s so sweet.

Melo Is My Nature (slice of life): This drama is by far my favorite slice-of-life drama of 2019. Found family, strong and complex characters, I laughed, I cried. Plus a gay character that’s an actual character, with the gay as a casual side note (classy k-drama!!) It was just a perfect show for me. There’s romance, but all of the stories are super interesting.

Hello! My name is Y/N. I’m not really sure what to say and I don’t even know if you’ll read this, but here it goes.

I’ve been a fan for a long time, and I don’t regret a single moment. You captured my attention when I first watched your music videos. Your dancing is phenomenal, and you’ve inspired me to keep chasing my dreams of becoming a professional dancer. I’m sure I could never reach your level, but I managed to start a dance studio! It’s nothing big, but maybe that will change! Whatever happens, I just want to thank you for being the biggest inspiration in my journey.

I hope reading this will make you proud of yourself, for using your platform and abilities to bring hope to your fans, and maybe of me, for being able to get closer to my dreams because of you.

Yugyeom isn’t sure this is real. He reads the letter again, but it’s all the same. He’s used to praises, confessions, proposals, even, but being inspired enough to start a studio is a first. She’s telling him to be proud of himself, but he almost feels unworthy. He’s nothing special, yet here she is, commending him for her success.

He laughs. Something ripples in his chest. He has to see her again, ask how her studio is going, if she’s well. The letter is too short, and he’s left with a bundle of questions.

“Thank you. I’m not sure what I would do without you.”

He’s met so many fans and even gets familiar with a couple faces, but that’s it. It’s a busy life. But for whatever reason, he doesn’t want to forget Y/N.

Y/N wishes, more than anything, that relating to people were easier.

She’d think to deal with her friends for two years would make her a professional, but her progress has been nothing but linear. They’re her colleagues—technically employees—but she doesn’t want to be alone. She has to be a good boss, a good teacher, and overall, a good friend. But God, are they exhausting.

They’re not terrible people and they have their moments, but she can’t find it in herself to care about Kim Soohyun starring in a new drama. It’s almost amazing how similar they are, like soulmates. It’s just a little unfair she wasn’t part of the package.

“Y/N. Have you seen Royal Lover yet?” Sunhee asks.

Y/N takes a sip from her juice. She needs to come up with something fast. “That’s actually next on my list. I was planning to watch it later.” She’s going to regret this.

There’s nothing wrong with dramas. In fact, they’re great, but she’d like to watch them for herself at her own pace. They’re not exactly forcing her, but doing this is better than being excluded. This is how she finished five dramas in less than three weeks.

“Okay, okay, finish it as soon as possible! It’s sooo good. I cried at the end,” Areum says, and wipes a barbecue sauce stain on her shirt. She couldn’t care less about the mess, but she was fuming about Heechul and Momo’s relationship a minute ago. “Jia, what did you think about the ending?”

Jia, although busy on her phone, doesn’t waste a moment to reply. “All I’m gonna say for now is that I think it has one of the best endings in K-Drama history. We can text about it later, but we should stay quiet for now until Y/N finishes it.”

Areum shakes her head. “No, let’s text about it now!”

The rest of the lunch is quiet except for keyboard clicks and laughter. There’s no use getting their attention now. Y/N slumps against her wooden chair and sighs. Her eyes wander to a family in the indoor area of the cafe where they laugh at something the father says. She can’t remember the last time anyone listened to her like that. She looks back at the girls.

Why can’t she be more like them? They’re weird, but they aren’t alone. They have people to talk to and connect with. Is there something she missed? Was there a handbook for social skills she never received?

Why does she feel alone when they’re right in front of her?

The metal seat is cool against the bottom of her thighs, and she instantly regrets wearing shorts. It took her a few stops to get seated. Her legs were ready to give in to the fatigue, so she’s not sure if she should feel guilty for hurrying after the seat before a child could take it.

His mother glares at her, and she wishes she could explain herself, that she’s a dancer and needs to sit down after a long day at the studio. But the child pouts and looks at her too, and it bites at her conscience. She checks the map above the doors. Her stop is two stations away.

She rises from her seat with a sigh and takes their place in the center. They don’t even thank her, but she doesn’t blame them. She closes her eyes and focuses on Yugyeom’s voice playing through her earphones.

Bad days aren’t so bad when she has GOT7.

When she gets home, she prepares a bowl of ramen and a glass of milk, and spends the rest of the evening watching Royal Lovers, already wishing for it to be over.

Yugyeom’s heart is going to leap out of his chest.

The gold lights cast a soft glow in the room, and it makes the event feel cozy. Dark red theater chairs fill the compact hall, most of them already occupied. He searches through the crowd and looks away as soon as he finds Y/N. She’s here. It’s difficult, but he tries to look at other fans and focus on waving hello. This is gonna be tough, he thinks.

There are camera flashes, conversations, and the boys at his side. The fan sign is open, and the first batch approaches. Everything is familiar. Everything is the same.

Except he can’t wait to meet a certain fan.

Time is not in Y/N’s favor today. It’s too fast for her to process every second. She’s already finished talking to Jaebeom. Mark. Youngjae.

There are too many words fumbling in her mind, she doesn’t even know what they are. The few she catches are too awkward to form coherent sentences. If only she could dance what she wants to say, but she would rather not make a fool of herself.

Before she could realize, she’s standing before Yugyeom.

“Welcome back!” He says and signs her album quickly. “Y/N, right? I read your letter from last time.”

Y/N tries to catch her breath. “You remember me? And you read my letter?”

He nods and takes her hands. His fingers clasp between hers, and he does this without breaking eye contact. Y/N’s heart races and her hands tremble. She tries to push every thought to the back of her head because there is no way this gesture could mean anything. He’s an idol. Fan service is part of the job, and clearly, he’s very good at it.

“How’s the studio?” He asks.

“It’s steady. I could use more students, though. You know, with rent and everything,” she replies.

He nods. “That’s good. Just keep working hard, and it’ll be worth it.” He pauses for a moment before asking, “Do you have a letter today?”

Y/N’s heart beats a thousand times faster, and she hasn’t even had coffee. Why is he asking for a letter? Did he like the one she wrote? He did remember her. She didn’t even have to remind him of her name. Heat rises in her cheeks. If only she knew he’d want to hear more from her.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I was binging a K-Drama and forgot to write one.”

He looks down before he meets her eyes again. “That’s all right. Are you coming to the next fan sign?”

She nods. “Yes! I’ll write you a letter by then!” She takes her hands away for a moment to pull bunny ears out of her bag. “This is compensation.”

Yugyeom lowers his head and lets her place it for him. When he looks up, a staff woman from behind places her arm between them before he could speak. His body droops as he releases a sigh. Time’s up.

He takes her hands one more time and shakes them like pom-poms. “See you next time, Y/N. Fighting!”

Y/N’s heart soars. Even as she faces the rest of the members, her mind replays her meeting with Yugyeom. His hands are gentler, and his smile is wider. It’s like he was genuinely happy to see her. If only she could return to the back of the line and talk to him for a few minutes more.

Like a movie stuck on repeat, her memories are full of Yugyeom. She doesn’t care when people glare at her as she hums in the train, or when she almost hits a woman with her swinging arms at the sidewalk.

She couldn’t be happier. And it’s all thanks to Yugyeom.

Y/N is sure her eyes are fried.

They’re sore from the bright TV screen that illuminates the dark living room, which she knows was already a bad choice. She didn’t have the energy to turn on the lights when the sun went down.

She wasn’t completely unproductive, though. On the coffee table is her laptop uploading a new YouTube video. It’s not a big channel, but the comments make up for it. It’s the only place, along with Instagram, where she feels like she has a voice.

Reality, on the other hand, has a different idea. It’s where she has to watch dramas 3 nights in a row to satisfy girls who only talk to her because she’s their boss. The only voice she has around them is directions in the studio and forced opinions.

She takes a deep breath and opens the group chat.

Y/N: I finished Royal Lover! I give it a 7/10. But you’re right, Areum, that ending was really good! Made me tear up!

Even typing that was draining.

Jia: Finally kkk

Sunhee: Sorry, we moved on to Children of the Sun. You should watch it!

Areum: SO!! GOOD!! It’s about a doctor and a soldier falling in love!! I’M CRYING!!!!

“Unbelievable,” she mutters.

Except it isn’t. They’re the type to jump onto the next band-wagon in a snap. She shouldn’t be surprised. She sighs and slams her phone on the couch. There is no way she’s watching Children of the Sun. What kind of title is that, anyway? It’s time to take a break from dramas. The girls might throw a fit, but it wouldn’t be the first time.

SURPRISE LIVE: OLOLOLOLO

Y/N laughs at the title. A change from the weight on her shoulders. Their noise fills the room, which she prefers over clashing swords and exaggerated sobs. Her shoulders relax, and she takes a deep breath. GOT7 salvaged her night.

“Let’s read some comments,” Youngjae says, leaning closer to the phone. “Say hi to Brazil. Hello. Bambam, speak French.”

“Baguette.”

Y/N throws her head back laughing and almost kicks her laptop off the table. She places it on the other end of the couch before coming back to the stream. The live chat is rapid, but she types a comment anyway. Maybe today will be her lucky day.

Mark takes the phone from Youngjae. “Yugyeom, someone is asking what you’ve been up to lately.”

Y/N almost drops her phone. That’s her question! She licks her lips and grips on the cushion as she leans closer to the screen.

“Oh, I’ve been watching a lot of dance videos! I enjoy watching fans cover our songs. It makes me feel proud. Some of them are even better than us.” The members hum in agreement. “Guys, if you have any dance covers or any dance videos at all, tag us! They make us really happy!”

Bambam nods. “Don’t be ashamed! Even if you’re just a beginner, we’re here to support you. We’re a team, guys! Fighting!”

She doesn’t wait for the live to end. She runs to her bedroom and rummages through the messy drawers. There’s no time to waste. The words flow right out of her pen, and she doesn’t care if the message is messy. She doesn’t know how long it takes but the ache in her spine and hand tell her it’s been a while.

“Don’t be ashamed!”

They’re right. Dancing is who she is. It’s everything she’s ever done, and all she’ll ever do until her bones don’t allow it. She did not start a studio to be ashamed. She did it to grow. GOT7 may not notice her videos under the infinite amount on Instagram.

But there is a certain member who might.

when your bestfriend only sees you as a friend - mark lee

[a/n: hiii this is my first sort of angst back so i hope it doesn’t suck too much. please let me know what you think of it!] [a/n pt 2: hey fari, remember when you cussed at me in our dms? this ones for you! @zhengtongue]/ master list

We’ve been friends for years, her and I. It was just a typical friendship when it started out. We had the same math class in middle school and the two of us just sort of...clicked. And though I wasn’t worthy of her time, she gave me all of the time in the world.

We continued to be friends all throughout middle school. We hung out often. Her parents even invited me to go with them on a week long trip to a farm that her grandparents’ had owned. That summer, our lips were stained red from strawberries, hair as wild as the wind, doubled over every second of the day with laughter, sleeping with the fireflies, sun kissed, happy. It’s a summer I’ll never forget. A summer neither of us will. A summer that frequents our late night conversations with questions like “Mark, remember when you tried to milk that cow and totally cried?” or “Mark, remember when we swam in the pond all day long and were shriveled up like raisins for days afterwards?” or “Mark, remember when we spent the entire night counting the stars?”

But there’s one question that has never made it into our late night conversations. A question that keeps me up until the crack of dawn.

“YN, remember when I was pushing you on that old tire swing and you stopped, leaned out and kissed me?”

No. She’ll never bring that up again. And I won’t either.

Because that’s what happens when your best friend only sees you a friend.

The summer ends as quickly as ice cream melts on a long day. We enter high school that year. We start to find out more about ourselves that year.

She joins the volleyball team, I join the music club. She goes to all of my recitals, I go to all of her games. We’re each other’s biggest fans. She and I...we’re best friends and everybody knows that.

But we have our own friends too.

I have Haechan from music club, she has Jisoo from volleyball. I have Johnny from forth period, she has Jieqiong from seventh period. I have Jaehyun from the youth center that I play basketball at afterschool and she has...

She has Lee Taeyong.

And I see that way she looks at him.

Lee Taeyong is our student body president - a junior. He’s tall, smart and handsome. He sometimes oversees the music club when our president, Ten, is out. He’s part of the mathletes, a teacher’s favorite, does the morning announcements, best friends with the principal, number one in class rankings from his year, captain of our dance team and volunteers at the animal shelter on the weekend.

His parents must be so proud of him.

That’s why it’s no surprise to see the way her eyes light up when they accidentally crash into each other in the hall, sending her papers flying like some cliché high school drama. I help out too, of course, but all of her attention seems to be on him. I watch her cheeks flush bright pink and the way she stumbles over her words like she always does when she’s nervous. She pushes her hair back behind her ear and apologizes once more.

“Hey, don’t worry about it,” Taeyong says, smiling gently at her. His persona now is completely different than when he’s on the stage. His eyes are softer, more welcoming. Nothing like the hard glare he gets when he dances. “You’re YN. Right?” I can see her eyes flash with confusion. How does Lee Taeyong know my name? she’s asking herself. He helps her to her feet (while I push myself up off the ground) and says, “You’re friends with Jisoo. She talks about you to me.”

She makes a noise - a squeak almost. “What does she say?”

Taeyong chuckles. “All good things,” he says. “She says that you’re really into movies.”

And that was the first time I lost her.

Her and Taeyong start to date a little over a month after that incident. They’re the talk of the town. She’s known for how well she plays volleyball, she’s known for how kind hearted she is, she’s knows for her intelligence, she’s known for being the perfect match for Taeyong.

I see her less and less. I assure her that it’s okay. I tell her that if I were in a relationship, I would be doing the same thing and would hope she were as understanding as I was. But one too many times, she blows me off for Taeyong and I’m at Johnny’s house, crying over a tub of ice cream.

“Well Mark,” he says, “if you were going to be this heartbroken over her, then you should’ve just asked her out in the first place. You fumbled the ball there, bud. Now there’s nothing left you can do.”

It hurts. I know Johnny is coming from a good place but it still hurts.

It hurts because it’s true. I did fumble the ball. I could’ve asked her out so many times. I could’ve asked why she kissed me that summer so many times. I could’ve done so much but I was so scared of losing my best friend that I decided to just shove my feelings down my throat and let them stop the words from leaving my mouth.

It’s my own fault. And I know that.

But even if I am hurting, I’m still her best friend. I still should help her pick out her outfits for her next date with Taeyong and I should still help her try to find the perfect gift for him for Christmas and I should still be there for her when she lets me. Because even though I may not be her person, she’s still mine.

Yes. She’s still my person.

It’s a little after Taeyong’s graduation when she tells me of their decision.

“We’re breaking up.“ Her eyes are solemn as she says that, kicking the gravel under her feet as she rocks back and forth on the swing at our neighborhood playground. “He’s going to the states to study and doesn’t want me to stay here and wait for him. It’s for the better.”

And just like that, their two years together are down the drain and she’s here with me again.

We spend another summer together that year. This time, we take the long way home. We’re still kids and we’ll be entering our senior year that next year so we decide to spend this summer to our fullest.

“You’re never gonna know what’ll happen next summer. This is the last summer we’re gonna have together before college, Mark. I want to spend it with you.”

Of course the words make me as sad as they do happy. She’s right. Even though we are both applying for the same college, you never do know what will happen after high school ends.

So we spend the entire summer at pools and at the old park we used to play at when we were young. We go bowling and to the movies and blow our allowances on arcade games and photo booths. We spend almost every day together. Our parents don’t see us all day long and come back late at night. They know not to look for us. We always find our way back home.

We always find our way back to each other.

“If it’s meant to be, then it’ll be Mark,” Jungwoo, my next door neighbor, tells me one night after dinner. I had accidentally ranted about my feelings for her after he commented on our framed picture on my nightstand. “Don’t worry too much about it, yeah?”

And then we chow down on snacks and play video games - content.

Because if it’s meant to be, then it’ll be.

And then, before I know it, we’re both on the road, off to college.

College brings stress.

With that, college brings outlets to relieve stress. While college brought me a new guitar and hours in the studio, college brought her Lucas.

Lucas Huang.

He’s a barista at the coffee shop she really seems to like (but now I’m not sure if she liked it for the coffee or because of him).

Lucas is kind, from what my classmate, Jaemin, tells me. He’s a freshman, like us. He’s kind of an airhead but his heart is in the right place. He’s on a basketball scholarship. He comes from a poor family but was blessed with amazing athletic abilities that lead him to receive a full ride to the college we attended. He’s humble. He’s nice.

He makes YN’s heart pound.

They have math class together and he asks her to tutor him.

“But you suck at math,” I laugh as she glares at me over her drink.

“Yeah but Yukhei doesn’t know that,” she snorts.

“Yukhei?” I repeat.

She sighs, as if she’s offended that I didn’t know who the hell Yukhei was. “Lucas,” she grumbles. “Now if you excuse me, I’m late for tutoring.”

“Whatever,” I roll my eyes as she gets up from the table and leaves to the library.

And then it’s like...all she can ever talk about to me is Yukhei. Yukhei this or Yukhei that. Yukhei, Yukhei, Yukhei.

Yukhei who is sooo good at basketball. Yukhei who smells sooo good. Yukhei who is sooo cool. Yukhei who is sooo funny. Yukhei, Yukhei, Yukhei-

“Enough already, dammit!” I snap at her. Maybe I was irritated because I hadn’t slept in two days. Maybe I was annoyed because I had a raging headache from downing coffee after coffee to keep me from falling asleep. Maybe I was hurt because my person was once more, falling for someone who wasn’t me. “I don’t give a damn about Wong Yukhei, YN! And if that’s all you came here to discuss with me then go back to your stupid dorm! I invited you here to make sure you eat! Not to hear about how head over heels you are for that- that- that airhead!”

She huffs, standing up so abruptly that I almost spill my takeout. “I don’t know what your problem is Mark but you had no right to snap at me like that,” she crosses her arms.

“If you knew my problem, you’d understand why I’m acting this way,” I mutter under my breath.

“I’m leaving,” she says, gathering her things from around me just as I notice little raindrops beginning to pelt against the window.

“Hey,” I stop her at the door. “You forgot this.” I throw my umbrella her way and see the way her face softens just a bit.

“Text me when you’re done throwing your fit,” she tells me.

“Don’t count on it,” I reply as I lazily shut the door.

Doyoung, my roommate, laughs as I throw myself down on the bed.

“It truly pains me to watch you, Mark. It truly does,” he says.

“I’m going to sleep. Enjoy your food, hyung. Don’t wake me up until she’s done with her Yukhei phase.”

And I fall asleep.

The next time I wake up, it’s to a body squishing itself between me and the wall. I open my eyes and see a familiar head of hair. I turn to see if Doyoung is home but he isn’t - probably out for the night with his friends like always.

“YN?” I push her hair back. “What’s wrong?”

”I’m an idiot,” she mutters, face flush against my chest. “He has a girlfriend back in China, Mark. A whole ass girlfriend who he’s very loyal to and who he calls all the time and who he loves. And he only told me that after I confessed. What the fuck! I’m a big idiot.”

“Hey, don’t say that. You didn’t know,” I soothe her, sitting up. I reach over and grab the water bottle off the nightstand, thrusting it her way. “If it’s meant to be, then it’ll be.”

She takes a sip after sitting up herself before screwing the cap back on, and leans against the wall. “Yeah. I guess.”

“What?” I know that look. I’ve seen it plenty of times. That look when she wants to say something but isn’t sure if she wants to say it. “YN, just say it.”

“It’s just...what you said to me,” she shrugs.

“What about it?”

“Well,” she says. “What if there’s something that you want, something that you want so badly that you feel like it’s meant to be but in the end, it isn’t? Then what?”

I shrug, too choked up by everything to say anything. It’s suddenly too hot in here and I can’t breathe.

“Like, haven’t you ever liked someone so much and swore you were meant for that person but in the end, you weren’t meant for them?” she asks. I swear she’s doing this on purpose. My palms begin to sweat the more she speaks. “Like...isn’t that just sad? Loving someone who you know wouldn’t ever love you back in that way?”

“Yeah, sucks.” Those are the only words I can manage, my throat too dry for much else. I take the water from her and gulp down half of the bottle in a single take.

“Mark? You okay?” she asks.

“What? Yeah. Yeah, I’m fine.”

“You sure?”

I nod. “Yeah, let’s just go to bed. I haven’t slept in days,” I remind her before throwing myself down onto the pillow.

She resumes her previous position of having her head on my chest and plays with one of the strings on my hoodie. If she can feel my heart pounding, she doesn’t mention it. Instead, she sighs and says, “Thanks for this, Mark. You’re gonna make somebody very lucky someday, you know?”

I bite my lip. “YN?” She hums in response. “Can I ask you something?” Her eyes flutter up at me, expectantly waiting for me to continue. “Do you think...do you think that it’s okay for two best friends to date?”

“Like how close is their friendship?” she replies. “Why? Are you in love with Jaemin?” she gasps.

“What?! No! Jaemin is not my best friend, by the way. It’s-“ I stop before I say her name. “Just...tell me.”

“Well,” she begins. “If they’re best friends like that and the feeling is mutual then why not?”

“Best friends like that?”

“Yeah. Like...best friends who have always had heart eyes for each other. Not best friends like us.”

“Like us?” I frown.

“Yeah. We’ve never felt that way about each other! That’s why we’re so close and there’s so much trust. No looking so see if there are other intentions or anything like that. It’s just...you and I. Ride or die. Besties for the resties! Right?”

And she breaks my heart for the millionth time.

“Right,” I reply.

Because even if I see her in that light, even if I love her in that way, even if I want to give her the world, I can’t be selfish enough to tell her that. Not when she’s still in the dark, not when she’s already got her hands full with another person’s adoration.

My best friend will always see me as just her best friend.

But I love her so much that I’d rather have that than not have her at all.

Because that’s what happens when your best friend only sees you a friend.

Hiii Mais, hope you’re doing well! Just popped by to ask how much are you loving Aangan rn? For me the Baraat series will always be a benchmark for a full fledged comedy show in Pakistan but this is the closest I’ve seen on tv since Aunn Zara. And what did you make of the Qainchi aunty? 😂😂

I am doing fine, Allahamdullilah! and OH MY GOD Aangan is just so..asdaskjdhaskjd!! Like I love that show so much? It makes me happy? You know for me a show has done its job well when it can make me cry both with laughter and with sentiments. And Aangan does that pretty much EVERY WEEK??!!! Just by staying grounded and staying within its sphere of realism, Aangan has won me over for LIFE! I doubt the show will disappoint now. It just can’t. If it hasn’t faltered for 18 consecutive episodes, I highly doubt it would pull a trick that won’t sit well with me in its last run.

Also because you brought up the Baraat series, I don’t think the two shows should be compared. They both play with different elements and they play with them SO well. The Baraat Series didn’t resist from going in the flamboyant territory to bring in the laughs whereas Aangan derives ALLLL of its humor from everyday situations. Not saying one is better than the other but for me, I appreciate Aangan’s way of story telling more because it provides me more characters to care about and it justifies ALL of their stories (LISTEENN! I will forever be pissed that Vicky and Laila didn’t get their own Baraat title and they became a subplot for Annie which just..really? WHO CARED FOR HER ANYWAY?!) Aangan is just that rare drama which makes you care for every character by giving all of them depth and letting us judge them on our own instead of affecting out judgements by giving a biased POV about them. And I love that because so very few shows care to do that.

KHAIR! So this week’s Aangan! Bwahahah! Bilqees QAINCHI came in like a wrecking ball and udaaofied Ammaji’s chain o sukoon. The whole sequence of Abbaji rushing towards the entrance to welcome his Billo was hilarious. And OH MY GOD the two bachpan ke saathi reminiscing about their past while Ammaji was close to murdering the two of them was precious. But for me the best laughs came from ALOOOO and Sajjad Bhai. LMAOO! Allaudin egging Sajjad and Asim to tell them why they were worried when he was there to help them and Sajjad so cleanly avoiding the situation by making up a random problem, “Dholak bajane wali nahin ayi hai toh ladkyan andar pareshan hain. Aap jaake dekh len..” had me laughing with tears. And then Sajjad Bhai’s reaction to Shafeeq Bhai’s, “Issi liye main Pakistan nahin aata” ka record. Bwahaha! Ammaji and Sajjad Bhai were legit on the verge of breaking someone’s face throughout the episode.

Gawwwdd...Aangan time has become family time for my house. Everyone is glued to the screen when the show is on and all of us are too busy enjoying the happenings on the screen to make time pass comments about it. It just holds a special place in my heart cuz, like Aunn Zara, it is one of those shows which makes everyone watching it laugh at the same time. I love the feeling of hearing my mother laugh at the characters’ quips while my father has this huge grin on his face. I love the hush that falls on all of us when something emotional is shown and we are all affected by it in our separate ways because our experiences differ, but the emotion is the same. Aangan takes my stress away but it also makes me think. It’s solid SOLID entertainment. It is basically what I want from a Pakistani drama - a perfect mix of food for thought plus laugh out loud entertainment.

(1/?) hiii, long time no talk uwu. how have you been? i’ve been doing great. today, i gotta take care of my baby sister, my parents went out so i gotta take care of her all day for them. she haven’t make any troubles for me (yet), but i hope she won’t, she is dancing to we go up (nct dream) rn loll. i make her listen to kpop since she was like 1 year old so whenever i put any song that she like, she would dance to it. she once dance to ‘wannabe’, she did the shoulder dance! it was so cute - 🐧

(2/?) she also dances to twice, blackpink, nct, but only some songs (mostly nct dream), stray kids and itzy and red velvet. she will probally be a kpop stan like me when she grow up. tomorrow is my mom birthday! i will probally spend the day with her and my family, i don’t know if i can make anything as a present for her 😢 i’m not good at making handmade things or baking since we don’t have an oven, but she never ask for it. as long as i’m being a good child (i am not) to her - 🐧

(3/?) i just have a small fight with her yesterday due to my bad habit of biting my nails, it is ver bad and i have it for years. i want to get rid of it but i somehow can’t since when i am stressed and anxious (which i usually have) i would bite my nails to relieves it :(( but me and my mom make up. these asks probably gonna be very long sskks, hope you’re okay with it 😅. i have also been into sicheng lately, jaehyun is my ultimate bias of nct but these days i am like “idk a jaehyun” - 🐧

3) thank you, anon! we’re doing ok on the whole. things have been kind of chaotic IRL, lots of family, financial and health drama, but we’re weathering it. admittedly, often in the form of avoidance through don’t starve together and holy potatoes! we’re in space?! (i cannot recommend the second game highly enough, for real it’s adorable af and if you enjoy rogue-like games with spaceship battles and crafting and ridiculous pop-culture references, you will like it a lot!)

it’s our five-year anniversary this halloween and we’re SUPER PSYCHED FOR IT. we probably won’t do any traditional celebrating just because we’re broke homebodies, lol. instead it will be a goth movie marathon and hella cuddling.

4) lol, hello to one of the ts4 creators i told to stop using my shit with adfly. net neutrality doesn’t mean “i’m neutral to every shitty thing people do on the internet,” it’s specifically to prevent ISPs from introducing paywalls and slow-lanes (GOSH I WONDER WHAT THAT SOUNDS LIKE??) to intentionally impede the internet for people unable to pay a premium price on top of the existing cost for internet access itself.

kudos for trying to catch me in probably the stupidest moral “gotcha!” i’ve seen in a long time. pay content is still against the sims EULA. if you want to make money off of creating, i suggest you seek out a game that supports that sort of model, like second life. there’s nothing stopping you from making the money you feel you deserve in a game that permits and encourages it! unless what’s stopping you is having to make your creations from the ground up, instead of running pre-existing actions over pre-existing textures. hmm.
