I’ve had a lot of infuriating shit happen to me over the course of my silly little life, but I do think I’ve pinned down the single most impossibly frustrating thing in the whole world.

“Wow, you have amazing coping mechanisms. This is remarkable, you've compensated for your disability so well that you're not even disabled really. I don't think you need medicine or help for it at all since you do so well!”

I’m not saying that abusing neurodivergent children works, but it does insomuch as the ones that survive the process turn out capable of functioning at levels no one should ever expect of anything ever. I can absolutely operate at 200% efficiency, sometimes for weeks, but it is illogical and cruel to expect that from me as the baseline. 

#o thx they're so good on account of i'm alive #if i didn't have them i would be dead already #also it turns out my OCD is not subclinical #it is just pure o #which uh does not really show so it's rarely diagnosed #and like not to make my notes a primer on how ocd works but ocd works bad #compulsions look kinda weird and scary but they help #like compulsions are actually coping mechanisms #and my one actual compulsive behavior is so nice #see i got hit by a car once at a crosswalk #not super bad or nothing #i bruised up my hip and elbow real bad but i was fine #the car did not even stop to check on me #so now i have to hit the crosswalk button three times #or tap three times before crossing the street #i can do it six if i have to #nine is the best #seven is only if i'm praying for something #but the point is when i do that weird thing i do? #i'm no longer full of obsessive thoughts about cars hitting me #i'm safe because i did the ritual #it is compulsive behavior #it isn't bad or disruptive #i'm also terrified of movie theatres now #because my mom died when my phone was off for a prescreened movie #so i just don't go in theatres #if i do then my sibling will get cancer #which thank you so much covid 19 #now i don't even have to think about this one #but the other ones?

A cute, random idea I had:

Kaz will do random things to make sure Jesper pays attention when he's explaining stuff (AKA because Jesper has ADHD energy lol.)

He'll spin a coin on the table repeatedly while telling him what he's supposed to do that night at the Club because Jes will get distracted by the table he's at otherwise.

He'll randomly do sleight of hand while he explains an intricate job- something where he makes, like, a pen disappear in one hand and then reappear prob- and do the trick over and over because he knows Jesper will literally stare at him the entire time if he does.

Sometimes he'll tap his cane against something or drum his fingers on it in a weird pattern so Jesper will look back at him when he starts to lose focus in busy places.

(He's ridiculously good at keeping him engaged at this point.)

You know, when I kept getting asked "so you didn't ever have severe pains before now?" in the hospital and I kept replying "I have a high pain tolerance" I meant it. However, there is only so much pain my tiny 4'9" body can hold... (aka I am sweating and in agony bc I'm getting told to use LESS severe pain meds so I don't rely on them too much and it is AWFUL)

#moe talks a lot #i was shaking earlier and despite the fact i sound like im gonna cry #and the fact that my mom can pick out im about to cry from pain bc im trying to take less pain meds #LIKE MY MOM IS INSTRUCTING ME TO DO #shes like well why arent you taking any pain meds #BECAUSE THERE ARE TWO AVAILABLE OPTIONS AND ON A SIX HOUR TIMER #i cant take both at once or else what happens to me if i hurt before the six hours is up #i have to manage them in a way that allows me to benefit from both and being told im doing it wrong #after being told well its your fault it got so bad because you never complained about pain before #YEAH NO JOKE? REALLY? I NEVER DID? because everyone acts like im too young to feel that kinda pain #oh youre hurting? just wait until youre older #and its currently agony to breathe again but that i guess is also my fault bc im trying to use pain meds #holy moly i just want to not get dizzy standing up cause wow dang #sure would be nice if the multiple incisions in my stomach didnt THROB every time i sneezed or coughed or cleared my throat #but since i didnt use much pain meds before because i would be mocked for being too much of a baby its like #welp damn now i could really use some and im being called out for being too reliant #anyway time to sleep more because that means im not noticing my pain #im literally smaller than most children and so i do understand my body size makes people worried about the medication intake #but can i please just go a day without being asked how much im taking or when i last took it or if im gonna cry #anyway sorry for the excessive rant today never really had surgery or anything so this is brand spankin new suffering
