percy jackson and the olympians tv show episode 2 thoughts

again, just copying my original thoughts from last week 😭😭 lots of rambling, screaming, and general freaking out ahead!

Literally the whole first part of the episode I was sitting on the edge of my seat wondering “is annabeth going to say it? is she going to say percabeth’s iconic line?? I will be so incredibly disappointed if she doesn’t” and then SHE SAID IT SHE SAID IT OMG I LOVE HER and Percy’s reaction lol “huh?”

dude Dionysus is actually perfect “PETER JOHNSON IS HERE” man I am so looking forward to all of their banter

uhhh not me saying chiron’s name wrong for five plus years now and only now finding out it’s KYron and not CHEEron *sobs*

the whole thing with mr d saying he’s Percy’s dad was so funny I was cackling the whole time lol and not Percy ACTUALLY believing him and then Chiron shows up and it’s like “uh wait a minute hold on”

okay it is totally weird realizing that none of these people know who Percy’s dad is or what he can do but everyone watching (or mostly everyone I’ll say) does UGH I FEEL OLD

the music growing scarier as Luke approaches ACK FORESHADOWING he’s kinda cute tho I love his hair

i absolute adore how they made Percy mad about the injustice of the unclaimed at this young age not just as a fifteen year old and I freaking LOVE that for him

final thoughts: okay, that episode was PHENOMENAL! Camp half blood is absolutely gorgeous, the capture the flag scenes were perfect. Walker is crushing it as Percy and that was genius casting and I will say that till the day I die. I cannot wait for the third episode! my only complaint is, where’s the Oracle?? I genuinely want to hear the prophecy! because if she’s not here now then how’s Rachel gonna become the next oracle? I will hyperventilate bc perachel was so good for percabeth’s growth hahaha. I really really hope she’s in the next episode! I guess we’ll see!

yall ready for a gender journey post..

so yall could probably guess i grew up a cis girl. i didnt start questioning my gender until high school after i broke up with my first boyfriend which kind of freed me up to explore my identity as my own person for the first time. around age like 16 was when i first started identifying as trans, and at the time that meant a binary trans guy

after a couple years of getting comfortable exploring my gender i decided hey maybe im actually not a binary trans guy but instead nonbinary. still transmasc and guy leaning but not quite all the way anymore. this became a trend for the next loooong while, getting closer to the androgynous part of the spectrum as time went on

then in recent years (maybe about 5 years ago ish) i started to lean more towards femininity. this is significant for me because growing up i was always opposed to it--i hated wearing dresses, i hated putting on makeup, anything "girly" appalled me and i didnt know why. i ended up thinking its because i WASNT a girl, and thats why i was so uncomfortable with everything to do with being a girl. i rejected it so hard because it just wasnt me.

after living with eden for a while i got even more comfortable exploring the feminine part of myself. i started wearing dresses and skirts and actually ENJOYED it; i started painting my nails and wearing earrings again; i even grew my hair out to my shoulderblades (yeah thats where its at now LOL). ive even started using she/her alongside they/them. and im actually enjoying these things??? it feels like after all these years im finally able to reclaim them because i feel like im finally able to be comfortable with my gender--how my gender feels to ME, not to everyone else.

that was the problem when i was growing up--i was trapped in everyone else's perception of my gender and what it "should" be. i was trapped into a box that was made by everyone else's idea of what i SHOULD look like, what i SHOULD wear, what i SHOULD act like, etc. and it took me until age 26 to fully realize that my gender is what i want it to be, not what everyone else wants.

i dont have to be a guy to want facial hair and a flat chest and a low voice. loving pink and dresses and cute things and makeup and jewelry doesnt inherently mean im a girl. pronouns, features, clothes, even names dont inherently mean youre one gender or another. your gender is defined by you and only you and nobody should be able to put you into a box and define your gender for you.

..having said all this, im starting to explore my gender further, and im slowly coming to the POSSIBLE conclusion that i might come back around to being cis (albeit gnc). nothing would really change about me except the label tbh. if i do end up coming to that conclusion i will be very bummed about leaving the trans community, but i wont feel any less attached to it, as ive spent literally half my life as part of it. i understand what its like to be trans and to love myself as my most authentic self, and thats why im considering this possiblity!

identifying as a lesbian kind of pushed me in this direction as well--i cant remember the last time i felt truly comfortable and happy with a label regarding my orientation.. like ya damn. maybe i am a girl who likes girls LOL. it just feels right and natural for me personally??? its crazy. i love women. if youre a woman i love you no matter the flavor. i love my wife more than all of you though sorry <3

but god please dont take this as me being like "oh trans people just need to get comfortable with their gender and theyll realize theyre cis" that is a bullshit take and i am not saying that. this is strictly my own experience and journey! i am 100% not speaking for every trans person and you shouldnt either.

but ya. dan cis era???? we'll see. no official statement just yet but i just wanted to let yall know where im at in my ~gender journey~. until i confirm anything please still view me as a nonbinary girlthing! <3

#i have to reiterate i am KEEPING the name dan saiyan. and my facial hair and deep voice #like i said. these things do not mean anything irt my gender. they are just part of me #if i say im a cis woman and i have facial hair and the name dan then thats what cis looks like for me <3 #i honestly feel free as hell. im defining my gender for myself now and its the most powerful feeling in the world

If Max gets a real dog, like all the sausages Verstappens have a penchant for, how would Daniel feel?

Oooh this is a good question bestie!

I think it would create some negative feelings initially. Like maybe Sophie gifts Max a dog because a) she knows he loves them and wants on (let's be honest he probably sent her so many pics of dog Daniel when he was taking care of him). And b) she doesn't know Daniel is a shifter

So Max gets a puppy, it's adorable and lovely and Max is in love and doting and the cats are curious because well now they're used to having a dog around regularly so they're curious about this one. Does it change too?

Anyway, Daniel's feeling some type of way. Irrationally like annoyed at the pup because well, he thought Max liked him as a dog.

Let's be real, Daniel might be making strides about his self acceptance of himself and his other form but you cant just delete over a decade of minor self loathing with maybe a few months of scratches and praise.

So Daniel avoids the dog and busies himself when Max is doting on it and loving it up. And maybe slowly, after a while, he stops shifting. Maybe he'd only shift in his apartment when he'd go home or like just to do his Dr mandated hour. Until he just stops altogether.

Max doesn't notice this at first. Nothing seems wrong to him. Until maybe he offers Daniel one of the cookie treats, he already gave the new puppy one and he ate one and was handing the third to Daniel. And Daniel's like 'nah I'm good' and Max is confused because they always eat them together.

And Daniel goes for a run so he doesn't have to answer any questions. He pays attention and doesn't get hit by any cars thankfully.

So yeah, he resents the dog. Irrationally starts to think that Max doesn't like his dog form anymore because now he has a real dog to play with and lavish attention. And it isn't until he objectively refuses to go on a walk with the little fucker that Max realizes that something is very wrong.

Queue Daniel denying and Max pushing and Daniel blows up and says something like "go play with your real dog or something" and Max is like

"what? Daniel-"

"you clearly like him more than me so just go."

"I don't? I love you too both forms."

"when was the last time I shifted then?"

And Max goes quiet while he thinks and realizes he can't remember and Daniel looks at him in both 'i told you so' vindication and 'i knew it' devastation.

Daniel leaves to go back to his apartment and Max follows him and they argue a little in the hall. Well Daniel's arguing and Max is pleading.

And it takes a bit but Max gets to the bottom of the problem and he apologizes for not noticing for being caught up. For not realizing how it could affect him.

And they make up and maybe it's like starting all over again where Daniel only shifts because he needs to. And he doesn't do at Max's place. Not around that other dog. And then something happens where maybe he doesn't have a choice but the shift at Max's and he tries to like lock himself in a room or something but the puppy (who has a name but I haven't decided it yet lol) gets in and tries to maybe sniff him and cuddle him and Daniel is like trying to stay away from him.

And maybe Jimmy and Sassy bridge the gap and they curl around Daniel like commas and Daniel calms down a little. Enough for the puppy to curl up near Jimmy's back and goes to sleep.

connor could not believe it, and possibly a part of him did not want it to be true. not that he did not like cats, they just were not his favorite animal. he was quite partial to dogs. so when kailey and connor were taking a walk through the loop after a short study session at the depaul library, kailey knew she could not give up this chance encounter. "oh my god con, look!" she squealed as she kneeled, before putting her finger out for the small cat to sniff her. "i don't think you should do that." he said taking a step back. she rolled her eyes, but then smirked as the cat began to brush itself up against kailey. "hi baby." she cooed, and began to pet it. "step on it bedard, get your car." she said not looking up from the black cat. "what?" he questioned, squatting down to her level. she turned back towards him, "im gonna stay here. you go get your car so we can get to the vet." she explained as if it was not obvious. "wait why?!" he asked still confused. "because con, the cat distribution system that I've been waiting for to appear, has happened! i cant give this cat up. look!" she said looking down at the cat. the cat had now taken up her lap as a safe haven, and connor knew there would be no going back now. she was hooked, and godddamit- she was gonna keep that cat.

it was 3 hours later, with a $465 vet visit and connor getting scratched in the room behind them- the two finally settled in on kaileys bed. kailey and connor laid down cuddling together, while the new kitten - notably named crosby laid in front of them in a ball. "i cant believe it happened." she whispered, intently watching the cat's chest rise and fall. "do lukas and kev like cats?" she questioned, absentmindedly. "uh, i don't know. the topic has never come up." he teased, pressing his nose in the nook of her neck from behind. "what if i brought her over tomorrow?" she questioned, and connor smiled. "im sure they would love to meet her." he mused, which made kailey silently cheer. "oh shoot! i completely forgot to let my brothers know." she giggled, pulling out her phone to shoot off a text to their group chat, that the four of them had. not even a minute later, the three brothers were texting like madmen. asking when they could meet her, but at the same time insulting kailey that she got a kitten and not a puppy, and lastly, they wanted to know the name. to which, luke guessed correctly. "what is with crosby?" connor questioned after she put down her phone, and she giggled. then she would not stop giggling, until she realized that baby crosby might wake up, so she stopped quickly. though, connor thought it was all quite amusing.

"as a kid we met crosby before i had a real understanding of who he was, and then was i was like 13 i saw a picture of him and thought he was the hottest man to grace this earth." she said turning around to face connor. "and then i met him again right before jacks draft, and my brothers had to tease me relentlessly about it. completely made a fool of myself in front of him and I've never lived it down to this day." she said as her cheeks turned rosy, which connor found quite darling. "that's adorable." he teased, moving a small piece of hair behind her ear. she pushed two hands to her face to cover herself from embarrassment, "what? it is cute." he said pulling them from her face, and then slowly leaned down to kiss her. but, before he connected the two he teased her a bit more. "though ill be sure to remember that you found him attractive...the next time he's in town." he teased before kissing her.

that kiss didn't last long.

okay the post u made trying to find the author of that poem made me think of an essay i lost that ive been looking for for a loooong time and im gonna take a chance and see if youve read it or could help me find it (but also feel free to ignore this if its annoying lol).

it was an essay by a young author, i would say she was in her 20s? for some reason the names emily or lauren ring a bell but thats just me guessing. the essay was about an experience she had with her family hound dog named maggie growing up. they lived in a mountainous area somewhere in the midwestern US or maybe more out west. the dog used to go up the mountain everyday that was basically in their backyard, and one day she was attacked by wolves. she was able to escape alive and make it all the way back home, torn to shreds. i cant remember if she died from her wounds or lived for a long time after that. but it was so fucking poignant and there was a deeper meaning to it and god i really wish i didnt lose it :') i remember reading it on some website, idk if it was published anywhere else, and i want to say she wrote the story in response to winning an award? idk if that helps at all but ANYWAYS if u have ever heard of this. that would be so cool lmao

YEAH I AM!!!!! I know I havent like talked about it at all recently but man its wild to me that people dont know how obsessed I am with tma lol the last fandom I was in (Tales of Arcadia) I wrote what was supposed to be a massive tma au fic and that I had planned extensively till the turtles consumed me and before that I was super into the tma fandom and drew a bunch of fanart

I dont have much of my tma fanart anymore since my last laptop like completely imploded and i couldnt salvage my art from before 2020 from it but heres some of the tma fanart that I still have!

(plus a bonus ghoulia from monster high)

I also had some tma ocs!

I cant remember their names but i had one oc who was an avatar of the web who I think had been partially paralyzed by some accident that led her to being an avatar of the web? I remember drawing her in a wheelchair and posting a picture of her in a tma discord server sometime in 2020 or 2019 but I dont have that picture on my laptop so she has been lost to time unless someone from that tma discord server happens to have that pic saved but i highly doubt that i would be that lucky

But I also had another who I still have a drawing of! Her name is valentina and shes an avatar of the buried who is a snowboarder and works as a search and rescue volunteer to help recover people after avalanches! (She doesnt you know actually help any of the people that she finds but you know she avatar of the buried them)

i havent listened to the magnus protocol yet so NO SPOILERS I'm waiting till spring break when i have more mental energy for it but i do plan to listen to it and i am very excited for it

Finished Vol 8 a couple of nights ago. Pretty good! Spoilers Ahead! You've been warned! This is going to be an unorganized mess, we're sorry Ok, so. Huh. Some of that I saw coming, Emerald hitting the "Change teams" button for example. Some of the other stuff? Not at all. Oscar getting captured, I knew that Ironwood would go off the deep end but not like that, I got double baited with the red herring red herring that turned out to be my original idea coming true, just not when I thought it was. Speaking of seeing "Themes of death" as a warning before an episode was so jarring LMAO, I was excited but damn. Still dont like the aceops, glad most of them are gone. Glad Mr. Schnee is gone too (but thats mostly because we all have father issues in this head). Winter was good, having the whole like internal conflict of "This is my job but it isnt right" was great (and relatable. Fuck you schnee family stop being so relatable) Neo was great and I love her dearly and would do anything for her, she's SUCH a cunt (/pos). Cinder was pretty good too, the whole like, tricking Ironwood into thinking he was fighting Salem instead of Cinder was great! I hope this entails a return to "Silver Tongue Cinder" like we saw in vol 1-3 where she was there but alot of the chaos caused was because she was pulling strings in the shadows weeks before hand and it all fell into place like dominos. Her lying to Salem is based. "Oh they used the lamp, sorry" Girl. She might've killed you for lying and y'know what? good on ya for lying to Salem of all people LMAO. Emeralds semblance getting better to the point that she even deceived Salem was great too. Penny dying was not expected but was done well. Cinder got so close to getting the winter maiden powers too.. genius idea to just look at Jaune and tell him to kill her tho, cant have the powers if Winter has them lol. Portal room was pretty, and Im curious as to what the fuck happens now that they all fell into what I think is the void. Fucking mustache man (I dont remember his name) being held off the side of a building by Cinder and taking the "No one loves you" gamble was big brained, because either she drops you and you get the last laugh or she brings you closer, securing your life for a bit. All in all, 1 volume left. What will I do with myself once the credits roll for the last time?

Do Not Stand At My Grave and Cry - this is i think my newest one, it has trans zukka and it's a bit angsty with a fake death but i also think it's kind of fun. it's the idea trans people have of ''who's going to care if my family puts the wrong name on my gravestone?" but there IS a happy ending

A Problem Halved is a Problem Shared - im gonna be honest i dont fucking remember writing this one lol but it says dialogue-only and it WILL be angsty bc it is about zuko and sokka dealing with different issues they have

One Last Time (and its sequel The End of All Things) - Actually OLT is definitely one of my faves I ever wrote. It's my canon-compliant take on um... *cough* Sokka's death, referenced in Korra. It's SO angsty but it has one of the most visceral scenes I've ever written and I DID cry writing this. TEoAT is the happy ending Divorced Zukka deserved with bonus Iroh but you WILL cry reading that too. BUT i cant fucking recommend these ones enough!!!!

If I fade away (the awful things we do to make the head go quiet) - VERY dead dove. trans zuko needs to pay a MASSIVE price to get home to the Fire Nation after Ba Sing Se, and it's not his choice at all. I love this but READ WITH CAUTION

In Which Sokka is Supportive Ally Boyfriend Goals - I am dead serious i like dont remember this one at all but i know it has trans zuko!

Nourishing the Flame Within - not the best written tbhtbh BUT it does have two very important Zukos in it that I hold to be universally true: trans zuko and eating disorder zuko

bad idea right? - okay this is DEF one of my faves lol its about divorced zukka but they just cant stop messing things up and sleeping with each other even though theyre not together anymore lolol

Keeping it in the Family - lmao OKAY SO this is the ONE version of zukka that im like 'ok all u z*tara folks, maybe zuko WAS with her and it obvs didnt work' and then he hooks up with sokka instead and its GREAT but oops now we have Family Drama

Scars of Trust - bro im not gonna like i barely remember writing this one but i remember I LOVE IT and it's about sokka who has been dating zuko a while but he finally learns that zuko is trans? its great

Playing the Long Game - eh, i don't love it, but I'd say it's worth a read. it was my first longer fic in the fandom. it DOES have a great Zukki evolution though if you're into that, and a nice mystery!! Also some whump and angst bc of course

Keeping Score - I liked this one! It's just little snippets of times Sokka has survived assassination attempts, because we always hear about it happening to Zuko, but Sokka gets them too. Angst obviously

It Was Cruel and It Was Wrong - wow, a dead dove fic, yes. It's basically like "If I'm Joo Lee and you're Joo Lee, then who's flying the bison?" Yeah so Sokka and Zuko are both brainwashed by the Dai Lee and Suffering but be careful because this gets DARK

Mother - Izumi has two dads but she feels bad she doesn't have a mom. But guess what, her dads don't have moms either!! She's very happy to find that out! Wow Izumi, way to have some sympathy.

Impact - It's about Zuko taking a longer time to recover from an assassination attempt than he'd want, and Sokka being loving and patient with him! I wrote this when I had a bad concussion for like three weeks and so it's pretty like. Medically accurate lol

Scratchy - Short and sweet. I don't remember this one much but I know that it is fluffy and involves turtle ducks!

Hidden Pain, Shared Love - Another short and fluffy one. It's about the first time Zuko sees that Sokka has problems with his leg sometimes?

Zuko and Sokka Get Engaged in the Most Zukka Way Possible - okay i actually really love this one because it's on brand and cute and also i made it fucking angsty because oF COURSE

Zuko Amongst the Dragons - yes so what if zuko was raised by dragons and met the gaang but he was super feral? and what if shenanigans ensued? AND what if sokka and zuko fell in love anyway????

Hii!! Its saturday, the best day of the week! Not guilt for sleeping in and a new kuro episode xD (and your reaction, that always makes me laugh)

This episode flew so fast! And it wasnt even as interesting as most of the others, =( I did enjoy watching just how many strategies and backup plans Ciel came up with tho (Also, loved the prefect being willing to train hard af with Ciel to win....but the fact that he didnt even think to question why their teacher was training *this* particular boy all the time is so dumb....like you said, EVERYONE (except Edward and Bitch-cant remember his name rn-) is so twisted around his little finger its ridiculous. Even Ciel seems surprised by this, lol. Never ever has he been the hot girl and doesnt know how to react xDD (and I mean for people his age...not demons and old lecherous pervs, btw)

Lau's girls were....sure something lmao. Its always hilarious to me when boys lose their heads around some skin, but to this extreme? I didnt expect Edward to fall to it, tho. And at Ciel's "would that really work? -> ah, i guess demons would know about humans desires" I was ¬¬ sure bb, suuure you don't know anything about this, at all. (Also, the TOTAL lack of reaction from Druitt???? You're telling me the most pervert man in this whole stadium is not reacting to grown up women showing skin and that's not a tiny bit suspicious?? When he was commenting on the boys before this? Pfff)

I KNEW he was gonna get injured the moment Edwin's bat stopped 5 cm from his face. Idk, but i thought he was gonna let himself get hit in the upwards motion? And I was like "baby, baby! you're gonna lose like, four teeth!! ik its probably your milk teeth still, but cielll!" lmao. Luckily that didnt happen. I think they're all like that with him because they all see how much persistence, ambition, and intelligence are in that small body. Plus, it does help that he has a title, is cute, and is very fucking rich (I mean he has to buy new silver jewelry every other week because Sebastian uses them like a kunai).

Amor, everyone knows Druitt is only into people younger than his nephew. While I understand why this would be a good strategy, I'm honestly done with it. Like at least they weren't naked and only covered by clouds (Naruto used the Sexy Jutsu so much... I hate just thinking about it.

I do see why most boys were affected by it. Like, during that era people (in general) were more covered up. Like very covered up. And while I'm sure Ciel does know about sex, he might be used to seeing girls like that. I mean, Lau and Ran-Mao are always together. While he doesn't like to be hugged by her, I doubt that's because of "lust" and he mostly just doesn't like being touched.

I just love how he thought letting Greenhill (I googled his name) was a good idea. I mean, they won. But the head injury could bring long-lasting effects. Greenhill (I had to google his name) hits extremely hard

Look at that! That's not normal. Ciel is lucky he's alive.

I also liked it when Ciel was the only blue-haired one. On the bright side, I now HC that Redmond (I also Googled his name because in my head he's either Heather Chandler or Regina George) teases him saying they could be brothers. He calls Ciel his brother just to annoy Bluewer.

they're both nature lovers but she thinks he's kinda insane for hiking for 4 miles at 7 am

okay including tremorbolt here because why not so do u remember that hc about deadlock and breach having movie nights? they also invited sova, deadlock nearly refused to watch the movie with them because she didn't want to third wheel those homos

BUT somehow breach ended up third wheeling them because they were going feral over the details of a fucking 90s horror movie while he tried not to die from too much laughing

her arm sometimes ache like an open wound, not that it's not healed wrong or something but phantom pain is a real pain in the ass and sova tries to help her w his grandmas home remedies and meds

ppl often confuse them as real siblings in public and its so hilarious to sova while deadlock just rolls her eyes but u can see a lil smile if u look closely thats her pocked sized himbo

sova is a good storyteller but he talks about gore so casually she's like ??? sometimes but still listens because this mf has interesting stories

like breach and viper, they also have their own bets but instead of winning they always end up losing bc they let everyone know what they bet on with their bickering lol

she thinks he uses too many hair products and he's just offended like?? do u think its easy to take care of this fabulous hair??

deadlock only cooks practical meals because she doesn't really have time to think about food (her words) and sova's horrified by her eating habits. like girl how are u even alive

sova can handle hot temperatures unless it's TOO hot but deadlock. oh boy. her nordic ass can't handle hot places unless there's an AC like she'd act like she's okay but you know how someone looks like when they're on the verge of dying from heat

they're both tea ppl but sova prefers black tea and deadlock finds those herbal teas relaxing after a long day at work

they smoked pot after a rough mission w breach once but that was the first and last time they listened him about his relaxing tactics because the headache in the morning? not worth it gals and guys and my nb children do not smoke pot if u wanna relax go take a shower or smth listen to me (definitely not speaking from experience)
