THE CARNIVAL STREET is an original story that started as part of an inktober years back and that developed into this comic with a lot of strange characters down a busy street one Halloween evening. I hope it gives a sense of a bigger world that just happens to be on the path of the small girl that this particular story follows.

"Adolescence is when The Joker starts to make sense." "Kid where do you come up with this shit?" There's a brief pause as you turn to look at the masked man, a shit eating grin tugging at your lips as he binged the bridge of his nose.

"Adulthood is realizing Commissioner Gordon doesn't get paid enough to deal with their shit."

You're met with silence, Ghost's hulking figure stilling behind you as if he was taking a moment to consider your words. Shifting your weight from left to right your gaze returned to the warehouse you were supposed to be watching, there was still no movement and no sign of the illegal weapons they were supposed to be tracking down.

"I suppose you're right, Private."

"You're a fan of Batman, Sir?"

"Who do you think I got the inspiration from?"

You're turning your head so fast you almost get whiplash, trying to determine whether or not he was fucking with you. Surely he was fucking with you, it was hard to tell with the mask but even then you could see it. Ghost dressed up in one of those discount Batman costumes, suddenly you're sniggering and Ghost is glaring at you again.

"Care to share your thoughts with the class?"

"Nope."

"Eye's forward, we've got movement."

With that you both focused on the task at hand.
