I might have controversial opinions on the "Faerghus Four." Mostly that it doesn't exist, and at worst, it exists to exclude Dedue.
Yes, Dimitri, Ingrid, Sylvain, and Felix grew up together, but that was as children. While that history is significant to their relationships, it ignores everything after. With the tragedy of Duscur, Dimitri and Dedue became inseparable while Felix was sickened by them, Ingrid couldn't overlook Dedue's connection to the tragedy, and Sylvain's apathy grew.
Past the age of ~15, you can't ignore how Dedue and the tragedy affects their relationships. I don't see just the four of them as a friend group, especially not without him because he's so important to Dimitri and the themes of Faerghus.

HELLO THERE LOVES I MADE A WISH REWRITE
I watched Wish twice (once on early screening day and once on the offices release date) and I fuckin loved it. But I feel like while this was a great movie, it was Disney’s 100th anniversary one and it needed like twenty minutes more or so to develop the characters and make it a truly spectacular celebration of 100 years of Disney.
I recently read about the concept pictures for Wish— Asha being the daughter of Magnifico, Star taking a human form and having a relationship with Asha— and I liked the idea of changing up the “quirky main character” idea as well. Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with girls like Rapunzel or Mirabel. They’re fun, they’re optimistic, they’re hardworking and determined. Buuuuut as more of a pessimist myself I found my favorite character to be Gabo. The short pink sarcastic side friend based off of Grumpy. Yes, the friends are based off of the seven dwarfs. But ANYHOW— I thought maybe a return to the Classic Disney Princess attitude would be nice. So I chose Kusco. Because he’s the best Disney Princess out there.
I’ve been rambling long enough. Full rewrite under the cut! Will explain more in future posts! Ask any and all questions you’d like! Now, presenting my Wish rewrite~
💫 Asha is the princess of the kingdom of Rosas. Her parents, Magnifico and Amaya, built Rosas after Magnifico’s old kingdom was burned by greedy Wishers who used magic to give them whatever they wanted, which led to their own destruction.
Asha grew up in her kingdom learning that because her father kept the magic in check and only he granted wishes, Rosas could stay safe and happy. Asha gives tours of the city to people who sail in, and as they give their wishes to Magnifico, Rosas grows stronger and safer.
Welcome to Rosas
(Though she’s on carpets and stuff and there’s servants swarming her and she’s comfortable while giving the tour— we see Asha being kind to the child of the tour group)
Asha puts on a happy face for the tourists. But the people of Rosas say they know the “real” her. They hate their princess, truthfully. But they love her parents.
Asha doesn’t really have friends. She’s above that. She’s a princess and her parents founded this kingdom that literally granted people’s wishes. Sure, she sometimes lingers in the kitchen to hang out with Dahlia, the head chef. And sure, sometimes she wished wanted to hang out with them. Dahlia and her six friends whom Asha could never remember the names of. She calls them nicknames based on their characteristics. Easy and efficient. Dahlia is Doc, since she always patches her friends up. She said Asha couldn’t call her friend Stoner, so his name is Dopey (Dario). There’s Happy (Hal), Sleepy (Simon), Sneezy (Safi), Bashful (Bazeema), and Grumpy (Gabo). They’re all close-knit and trust each other with everything.
Asha doesn’t have that.
But she’s their princess. And she remains that way. Untouchable. Unbreakable.
Until one day, Grumpy Gabo says she’s not above them for any reason other than her title. That if ranks were stripped away, she’d be talentless and left behind.
Of course Asha can’t have that.
Soooooo she sneaks into her father’s study to get some of his magic.
What? He has a ton of it.
But then stuff goes awry. Asha tampers with Magnifico’s forbidden books and… nothing happens.
Grumpy laughs at her and Asha threatens to have him imprisoned if he doesn’t treat his princess with respect. Dahlia and the gang stand up for Grumpy and Asha storms off.
Amaya tries to comfort Asha when she runs to her room and throws herself on her bed and cries, princess-style, and Amaya and Asha talk about how Asha dreams of a group of friends she can have fun with and trust, and Asha says her brain knows what her wish was, and it was to become the most powerful sorceress princess in the lands just like her papa. Amaya says that a dream is a wish your heart makes, and Asha’s heart didn’t want to be the untouchable princess of Rosas. Her head may tell her that, but everyone needs connections.
It’s Magnifico that ends up cheering Asha up by bringing her to see the wishes of Rosas again.
At All Costs
Asha calls Magnifico “Papa” and Amaya “Mama” by the way
That night, Asha tosses and turns, and we see the magic swirls from the book start to gather around her, then shoots into the sky as she shoots up, panting.
Turns out she accidentally ripped a star out of the sky. Asha runs after the giant comet fall, where a young man is floating in a crater in the forest.
The star had taken the shape of a young man. Who can fly. And bring objects to life for a bit.
He’s glowing yellow and wears a dark teal-blue velvet cape and his glow turns pink when he spots Asha.
When Asha freaks out and grabs the boy— she’s calling him Star— and hides his glow with her pajama cloak, and asks how the heck did this happen?
Star shrugs and says he was just chilling in space when the force of someone’s dream pulled him down to land.
Asha quietly excitedly stims, saying she can’t wait to rub Star in Grumpy’s face, and Star is like please don’t rub me in someone’s face, sweetheart.
Sweetheart?
Asha glares at Star, who smirks.
Asha exclaims that anyways— she knew she was a powerful sorceress, and Star says he senses no magic on Asha.
Asha says she must’ve had magic in her, or else how could she have ripped a star from the sky?
Star says people can learn magic but right now, Asha was inexperienced. It was probably because of her connection to the stars.
That means—
No, it’s not just you. All people are connected to the stars.
You’re a Star
Asha takes Star back to her room and says they can’t let her dad know she used his books to summon Star— but maybe Grumpy would need more proof. Maybe she could sneak a peek at his book again, and summon more stars to prove to Doc and the gang that she has talent and she was sooooo qualified to be their fr— sorcerer princess.
She tells Star to stay put in her room, and she’d sneak out and take a quick look.
Star asks if he can come with.
He just got ripped from the sky and needs some more exposition than “I don’t know.” And he’s too impatient to wait for Asha to come back.
Asha says he’ll have to learn and Star magically locks the doors until Asha explains something about how he was brought here.
“You made trees dance the hula and we rode here on a singing deer.”
Star gives Asha a look.
Asha pinches the bridge of her nose and explains that her papa’s whole family was killed because of the greedy wishmakers. With him in charge, he gets to choose, and people are safe.
Star says that the people deserve more, and Asha snaps that get family decides what everyone deserves because they’re the rulers of Rosas.
Star smirks at her and says she’s adorable when she’s mad. But, she’s wrong. The people deserve a chance to get their wishes returned so they can become dreams that can be achieved by pure hard work.
Asha says they’re the same thing, and Star shakes his head. “A wish you give away. A dream you keep with you to work hard and achieve your heart’s goal.”
“Wow, you have a great personality.”
Asha rolls her eyes and says Star can come, but he has to be quiet.
In Magnifico’s study, Asha sees Star heading to the wish room, and before she can grab him, he opens the doors and sees the wishes of Rosas.
Star is amazed and Asha sighs and walks up next to them. She looks up and closes her eyes and bathes in the feeling.
“They’re beautiful, aren’t they?”
“Yeah… they are.”
Star quickly turns to look at the wishes above them, his glow pink.
They end up arguing again because Star wants to return the wishes to the people so they can become dreams once again and Asha says her father worked hard on protecting them
Out in the hallways, Asha ends up shoving Star into a nearby room when she hears Doc and her friends come by
Asha smooths down her skirt and holds her head high as she walks by and calls to Grumpy. She smirks and says unfortunately, they were incorrect about her being talentless. In fact, she was so powerful, she ripped a star from the sky.
Behold.
She opens the door (which turns out led to the chicken coops) where Star was chilling in the sunlight where his glow looked normal.
“You brought us all here to check out your boyfriend?”
“Hal!”
Asha rushes to explain that no, Happy, he was the star. She orders Star to step out of the sun.
Star crosses his arms.
“No.”
“Excuse me?”
Dahlia and her friends all gasp and start planning Star’s funeral.
“Sorry, sweetheart, I’m a star. If you ever want your dream to come to fruition you have to be nice to people you want to befriend. Go on. Apologize and then ask me nicely.”
Dahlia and friends are now forgoing that funeral, there will be no remains left to bury.
But then Asha flares her nostrils, taps her foot, then glances at Doc. She averts her eyes and mutters, “sorry for being mean to Grumpy. Star, can you… can you please show them?”
Jaws: dropped. Wigs: snatched. Princess Asha of Rosas, apologizing and saying “please”? Sure, she cared for her people. But she never apologized if she accidentally ran into someone for walking in their way! It was her way! She was the only one who’s way mattered!
Star smiled and thanked Asha, then steps out of the sun to reveal his glow.
Jaws: even dropped-er. Wigs: even snatched-er.
After the initial “ooh”s, [something something]
Asha tells everyone that because she’s a star, she was able to be this powerful. They should all be impressed.
Star then corrects her by saying everyone was made of stardust and therefore had a connection to the stars and magic.
When Gabo laughs, Asha throws a fork at him and tells him to do that to himself.
Magnifico is calling Asha for a family meeting, and she says it’s probably about tonight’s wish ceremony. Dario’s Sabi who’s turning 100 today wants to get his wish picked. He doesn’t remember what it is as all wish-givers forget, but he knows it has something to do with his sickness. Asha tells everyone else to keep quiet about Star, or else. And with that, she leaves the room.
Star opens his arms and asks which of the group wants to help him commit a crime.
“What?”
He wants to break into Magnifico’s study and return the wishes to the people of Rosas.
Gabo snaps at him that they can’t just steal from the king and queen, and everyone else agrees. But Dahlia purses her lips. “Why?”
Dario asks if he wants to betray his girlfriend like that, to which Star turns pink and rolled his eyes saying they were not dating, in fact, they were enemies! She was uptight and didn’t care about anything but her title, scoff!
“Uh huh. Sure, buddy.”
“Gabo, stop talking.”
“Yes Bazeema.”
Star explains that losing people’s wishes made them lose a part of themselves. The most beautiful part, their heart’s dream. He tells Simon that his heart is sad.
He asks that if he returns Simon’s wish back to him, and it does make him whole again, then would they believe him?
Dahlia shakes her head and says they wouldn’t be part of this. But… they wouldn’t mention anything to Magnifico or Amaya. For the time being.
Star thanks Dahlia, and she says this was for Simon. And if Asha also changes her mind, then that’s a bonus. Then she smiles. “Good luck, kid.”
Magnifico called Asha to talk with her and Amaya about a threat that’s happened to the kingdom. Last night, someone harnessed the magic of a star and ripped it from the sky, which disturbed the wishes and his magic. Someone has threatened him, and this was a warning that something was to come. He couldn’t let that fire happen again.
Amaya and Asha calm his worries, and Magnifico says he doesn’t want the people to lose faith in him. Amaya says she will explain to the people about the giant light last night since they were asking questions, but they shouldn’t let it worry them.
“Thank you, darling.”
“You’ve got this, papa. I’m sure whoever bashed that light meant you no harm.”
“Thank you, Asha.”
Star asks Asha to spend the day with him, to which she agrees until the wish ceremony that night. The two have a day in Rosas, Tangled-style. Romantic montage, beautiful moments, Star sneaking glances at Asha when she isn’t looking and Asha doing the same for him.
Star shows Asha how to be messy and see the beauties of life while Asha shows Star how she actually does have good in her and cares for her people, truly. Star gives Asha a small wand to practice some small magic as a gift. While she shows him the study, he sneaks into Magnifico’s office and steals Simon’s wish.
Star returns to the seven and gives Simon back his wish. His dream was to become the kingdom’s best knight— and now he could achieve that! They show Asha how much happier Simon is with his whole self again, and while Asha is happy for Simon and that the seven are being kind to her (after she’s been kind to them), she asks Star to promise not to steal stuff from her papa without running it by her first.
“I promise, sweetheart.”
Safi asks Asha if she can get her papa to grant his Sabi’s wish, or at least return it so he could have a chance at fulfilling his dream like Simon now can. Maybe it would reveal a way Sabino could live longer.
Asha hesitates.
In her room, Asha paces. Her papa said that if people kept their wishes, they’d be dangerous and bring another fire to burn down their kingdom. But Simon seemed so happy. She didn’t know what to do.
Later, in the wish ceremony, all her friends are happy and excited for Safi’s Sabi. Sabino only has a few weeks left to live, and if this month his wish is granted, Safi can keep his Sabi with him.
Asha did talk to Magnifico but Amaya reminded her of the dangers of people chasing wishes in the wind. They showed Asha that Sabi Sabino’s wish was too dangerous, his heart’s dream was live forever. Sure, he was sick now, but once he gets better from that, who knows what immortality will do? Magnifico revealed the true story of their home using magical glass shards—
Backstory details that’s tragic and sad
Basically a king wanted to be immortal and it led to him going insane which led to the destruction of his kingdom
He sent his son away before the whole place burned to ashes
Magnifico was that son
A Wish Worth Making (?)
Asha agrees with him that that can never happen, and Sabino’s wish must never be granted and only the royal family can keep Rosas safe.
At the ceremony
Magnifico doesn’t grant Sabino’s wish and Amaya makes a public statement about how wishes were kept with him to stay safe and anyone who tried to oppose that rule was a danger to everyone in Rosas and a traitor to the crown.
Star calls them out for this and while Simon hides his glow with his huge body, the seven create a ripple effect through the crowd with questions that question the king and queen’s authority. They bring up how Amaya reassured them but this contradicted her words. Magnifico ends the ceremony and storms up to the royal master room with Amaya.
Asha and Star have an argument, with her saying her parents were good people and him saying that Safi’s Sabi will die because her parents were scared, and with that Asha flares her nostrils and says that she is the princess, and as their superior, they should watch their tone before something bad happens.
Safi is heartbroken. Without that wish, his Sabi will die.
Dahlia comforts him, and Star steels himself.
Star tells the group that they’re going to steal all the wishes. And return the dreams of the people back to them. Especially Safi’s Sabi.
“But Asha—“
“I’ll tell her when she comes back. We need to do this now.”
Back at the castle, Magnifico is pacing angrily in his room with Amaya. How dare these people question them? They’re doing everything in their power to prevent that (points to a burned tapestry of young Magnifico and his family) from happening again!
This is the Thanks I Get?!
Amaya also joins in
Cutscenes of the seven + Star breaking into the wish room again
Meanwhile, Asha goes back to talk to her parents. Maybe talk to them about Sabino again, maybe tell them everything, who knows—
Wait. There’s a noise in the wish room.
Asha uses her magic wand to open it and sees Star using his magic to lift the roof open to free the wishes. But it isn’t enough. They need more people; the roof is too heavy.
There’s a small magic scuffle with Asha and her wand against Star and his magic, and Asha ends up beating Star (much to his surprise and he’s totally not turned on by this which is why he’s bright red he’s not at all attracted to powerful women). Her heart breaks and she yells at him and all the seven and says if they ever show their faces around her again she’d banish them from Rosas.
“Sweet—“
“Don’t call me that name! Just— just go!”
“Asha, please. Safi’s Sabi—
“Go!”
Star stays and says he’ll be back to free the wishes and return them to the people. Sabino’s sickness has gotten worse, and he can’t wait another month for Magnifico to turn him down once again.
Asha snaps and yells at him a lot and blames him for everything that’s happened lately, the chickens, and the chalk drawing, and the dancing in the city square, and especially that sticky feeling in her chest when Star’s giving her those sad looks. So she doesn’t want to see him again.
She goes to snitch then sees the Epic Celestial Villains her parents had shifted into. Both of them used forbidden magic in the other section of the book Asha used. She asked if she had forbidden magic in her too, but they tell her she wasn’t powerful enough to handle this magic.
Their magic swirling fog is telling them via shapes that Asha was the one that ripped a star from the sky.
They’re acting different— they barely acknowledge Asha and demand that she tells them where Star is.
They crushed wishes to give them power, and Asha is of course horrified.
She saw how happy Simon was, and now those people…
Her parents weren’t survivors.
They were just power-hungry.
And now this forbidden magic was changing them.
They demand Asha tells them where Star was so they could siphon his galaxy magic and become the supreme rulers of Rosas— no one would never question them again.
Asha tells them she doesn’t know, and Magnifico uses his magic fog on Asha to make her tell them that Sleepy, Grumpy, Happy, Dopey, Sneezy, and Doc probably did know.
Amaya tells Asha she was grounded. She says Asha should sit down in her room and wait for the new era to rise.
Asha runs back to her room and cries, princess-style, and speaks out to the sky, to Star, that he was right. He was telling the truth, her parents weren’t good. And now she didn’t know what to do.
This Wish
Yeah she says she’s the first to stand in line but she’s been told that all her life okay
Magnifico makes an announcement to the people of Rosas that the entity that came from the sky was named Star, and he, along with Simon, Gabo, Hal, Dario, Safi, and Bazeema were conspiring to commit treason. He says to find them all and get him Star’s powers do he can grant all of their wishes!
Asha runs after the seven and sees them arrested by other citizens, with Gabo cursing everyone out. Magnifico waves his hand and mutes Gabo. Asha commands the soldiers to give her the satisfaction of imprisoning these traitors and interrogates them in the carriage driving them to the prison with guards posted by.
She asks all of them where Star was, and they refuse to listen to her. They’re cold because she sort of beat them up with her magic. She says as their princess, they have to tell her.
“You all are underneath me. I am your future queen. Tell me where Star is. This is important.” She turns to the shortest in the carriage. “My parents are looking for him. Gabo, if you know where he is, you have to tell me.”
Gabo’s eyes flicker up at her saying his actual name. He glances at Dahlia, who sighs. She says that even if they wanted to, they couldn’t hand Star over, because he was already gone. He was at the place Asha first starting falling in love with him.
The guards raise an eyebrow at Asha, and she says the fools were so simple-minded that they believed her lie. Then she tells Sabi to shut up and stop sneezing.
She says the forest was where she first found Star, and Magnifico creates a dark fog horse to ride out and find Star.
Once she’s sure he’s gone, Asha whips out her magic wand and blasts the doors open. She apologizes to the seven and says nothing could make up for imprisoning them and lording her title over them, but she needed their help to help Star.
Asha and the seven run back to the Rosas town square where Star is rallying the people and telling them the truth about Magnifico and Amaya. The crowd gathers to help pull open the roofs to free the wishes.
Knowing What I Know Now
Asha joins in and leads the people
Asha apologizes to Star for yelling at him and he apologizes to her for going behind her back. He says she deserved to know. Before they go, Asha tells Star to wait.
“That… feeling. That I mentioned before? I think… I think they’re feelings. For you.”
Star’s glow slightly turns pink. “Like, do you mean…”
“Yes. Feelings of affection. I just… wanted to let you know.”
“Sweetheart, you should know I feel the same. Have since I first laid eyes on you.”
“I am pretty beautiful.”
“The beautiful-est.”
Asha laughs. “That’s not a word.”
“She’s right, it’s not,” Dahlia quips.
The two pull back and laugh awkwardly.
The seven lead the people of Rosas to help lift the roofs, but Amaya catches them and there’s a magic battle where Amaya turns into a dragon a la Malifacent. Star helps Asha suck out the evil magic, and Amaya falls to the floor. The roof is opened, and the wishes began to flow out.
Then Star is grabbed from the back by a fog hand and Magnifico tuts, telling Asha he’s disappointed in her. But now that he has the power of a Star, no one will ever question him again.
He ties down every single person and closes the roof, draining Star’s essence into his magical staff.
Asha yells and uses her magic wand against him, and the two have a giant blast of magic against each other, but the energy is draining Asha while Star’s is giving Magnifico more strength.
Star weakly whispers to Asha to remember where she came from.
Magnifico snarls do Asha that she is nothing, and Asha remembers.
“We… are… stars.”
Asha’s blast of magic is battling Magnifico’s but he’s still stronger.
Asha cries out a plea to the people, these stars just like her, and Dahlia responds.
This Wish (Reprise)
The strengths of these stars give Star enough energy to break free from Magnifico’s staff and fly over to Asha’s side, and the magic blast shines bright and blasts Magnifico back, burning away the evil magic.
When the dark clouds clear and the night sky is sparkling once again, Magnifico isn’t moving. Amaya and Asha run to him, and Amaya cries over his body. She apologizes to Star for what they did, and asks if she can help her husband.
Star sadly tells her that his powers weren’t strong enough for that.
Amaya cries, and kisses Magnifico’s lips. Then, her star soul orb thing in her chest glows bright, and Magnifico’s does too. His body glows that shimmering yellow and he’s lifted into the air and the last bit of evil magic is burned away.
Asha asks Star what he’s doing and Star says he’s not doing anything!
Suddenly, Magnifico’s eyes open and he gasps, then falls.
Amaya and Asha rush to catch him, and Magnifico asks what happened.
Star shrugs and says some sort of True Love’s Kiss.
Magnifico and Amaya walk up behind Asha and address the people of Rosas. They apologize for what they did and they know nothing could ever make up for it. But… they promise to keep working to be the best king and queen they can be. If the people will still accept them. Also, they should have what’s rightfully theirs.
Magnifico uses his magic to lift the roof and release the wishes of Rosas back to their people. Amaya tells them that now they have a chance to fulfill their dreams, and she and Magnifico will be behind them every step of the way.
Dahlia steps foreword and thanks them for apologizing.
Basically they can still remain king and queen but they start a council of representatives where people can address them directly about problems and stuff
Then, Asha turns to the seven and says she has to apologize to them. For treating them all so poorly in the past.
They forgive her, and when she asks how they can do something like that so easily, Dahlia smiles. “It’s what friends do.”
“…friends?”
“Do you have a hearing problem, or something?”
“Gabo!”
“Sorry, Bazeema!”
Asha laughs and turns to Star who spins her around.
“I have friends!”
“You have friends!”
Meanwhile, Gabo whispers to Simon how they ever feared the princess. She was just a sad, lonely, friendless girl.
Asha turns to her wand and discovers it broken in half when she was blasted backwards.
Star restores her wand, and she says she’s going to be the most powerful sorceress in the history of ever and Gabo says she looks like a stupid fairy.
Asha glares.
“A fairy godmother,” Gabo smirks.
Star laughs and says that sounds amazing and Asha groans and bites back a smile.
Star smiles at the family, but he looks sad still. Asha holds his hands and he rubs her thumb.
“You have to return to the sky, don’t you?”
“If I had a choice, I’d choose to stay by your side.”
“I’ll keep on wishing on stars. I’ll find a way to bring you back.”
He tells Asha that they’ve learned that sending your greatest desires into the universe in hopes that they’ll be answered doesn’t do anything. It didn’t work for Magnifico, and it didn’t work for Asha. Instead, the people of Rosas should work to achieve their dreams.
Asha says she’ll work to achieve a way to find him again, then. Since she was going to be the most powerful sorceress—
“Fairy godmother~”
“Shut up Gabo.”
—she’d find a way.
Star smiles and says she’s his dream girl, and Asha jokes that’s he’s got to work to achieve her.
Star flips his cape and says it’ll be easy since he’s so absurdly handsome, and Asha snorts as she pulls him down and raises an eyebrow at him. Star turns a bright pink, then rolls his eyes as he smiles and pulls Asha up in the air with him by her waist, and the two kiss.
When they finally separate, Star is vibrating happily and he accidentally shoots out a magic blast at a nearby chicken, which makes it grow big and lay a giant egg on Gabo.
Star winks at her and returns to the sky.
EDIT BC I CAN’T BELIEVE I FORGOT TO ADD THIS BUT
ASHA DOES END UP USING HER FAIRY GODMOTHER POWERS TO HEAL SAFI’S SABI
MAYBE SHE MAKES A MAGIC FLOWER FROM A SUNDROP AND DAHLIA COOKS A PETAL INTO A COOKIE THAT HEALS SABINO
THEN BEFORE STAR LEAVES HE PROMISES TO HIDE THE GLOWER IN A FAR AWAY KINGDOM EHERE NO ONE WOULD BE ABLE TO EXPLOIT IT FOR IMMORTALITY (*side eyes Gothel*)
HE DOES END UP GETTING HEALED OK THE PEEPAW DOESN’T DIE

Undying Love 💍 (Part 1 - The Plan)
My first long fic! I finally had an idea that I could fit into multiple parts, and I'm super happy this idea was for Ominis because he's the best boy and he deserves all the love in the world! This fic will be 3 4 parts (i think). Enjoy!
Undying Love - Part 1: The Plan - Ominis Gaunt x Female MC
Summary: Ominis and MC have become fed up with keeping their relationship and their marriage hidden from Ominis's family. They come up with a plan to rid themselves of his family once and for all - by faking Ominis's death.
1.9k words
Smut/NSFW/18+!! Part 1 contains smut! Characters are aged up and out of school. Do not read if you're under 18!!
Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5!
-------
MC stared at the rings that adorned her left ring finger, rotating them around, a nervous habit she had picked up in the recent days.
The first ring was her engagement ring. A silver band with a small emerald stone in the middle, and two smaller diamonds on either side. The second was her wedding ring, a small, thin, plain silver band that matched Ominis’s ring. He would have given her a more extravagant engagement ring, but MC was never one for dramatics, opting for something simple instead.
Ominis had proposed to MC during Christmas of their 7th year, that day being their one year anniversary. After the event of their 5th year, the pair had become extremely close, developing a friendship that shortly after grew into more. On Christmas Day of their 6th year, Ominis confessed his love for MC and asked her to be his girlfriend. She confessed that she felt the same, and a year later they were engaged. They were married immediately after graduation, having an extremely small ceremony in Feldcroft, Sebastian being the one to pronounce them husband and wife.
Their engagement and marriage were kept secret for fear of Ominis’s family finding out. MC was a half blood, her mother’s side being the magical half, but that wasn’t enough for Ominis’s family. The Gaunts only wanted their son with a pure blood in order to preserve the pure blood status of their family. They considered Ominis’s courtship with MC “disgusting”, “an embarrassment” and  “tainting the blood line”. Ominis had convinced his parents that they had broken up, but once he heard there had been talks of marrying Ominis off to a cousin once he finished his 7th year, they had to do something. It had been about 6 months since Ominis had finished school and had gotten married, and he could no longer keep delaying his arranged marriage, lest his family become suspicious. They knew their marriage wouldn’t be enough to stop his parents, knowing that they’d likely just kill her and then proceed to marry him off. So after a long discussion they had decided on a plan. They were going to fake Ominis’s death.
It had taken a long time to convince Ominis of the plan, but he begrudgingly agreed. It had been a collective effort between MC, Sebastian, and Garreth, your other closest friend next to them two. For weeks now, you and Garreth had been working on a sleeping draught that was supposed to slow the drinker’s heart rate enough that they seemed like they were dead. They had tested it out on multiple mice and it was successful, the mice all “dead” but awakening just fine hours later.  Ominis was going to drink this potion, play dead for a bit, then Sebastian and MC would retrieve him, and him and MC would leave. His family cared very little about him, so the hope was that this would be an easy enough feat to pull off, as they would likely turn a blind eye to any minor mistakes the group made, relieved to just be rid of him.
In order to ensure this went according to plan, Sebastian and MC would be spending a few weeks at the Gaunt house, making sure there was enough time in between their arrival and the start of the plan in order to avoid suspicion. MC was going to play the role of Sebastian’s girlfriend. The Gaunts had only heard of MC, but they never saw her face, nor did they know her name. All they knew or cared about was that she was “dirty-blooded” and thus a bad fit for their son. Since they liked Sebastian, who was pure blooded, it was likely they wouldn’t ask questions about MC, so long as she stayed quiet, played it cool, and pretended to be Sebastian’s. Their arrival wouldn’t seem suspicious either, as Ominis had been splitting his time since graduation between his family home and “Sebastian’s” (he had actually been staying with MC).
This plan had been decided on a few days ago. But it was the night before the three of them were set to leave for the Gaunt’s, and MC’s confidence in the plan had turned to nervousness. Which is how she found herself standing in front of the window of her small home’s kitchen, twiddling with her rings, the symbols of her undying love for Ominis, and her willingness to do anything for him. Anything…even this.
The sound of the front door opening broke her out of her deep thought. Ominis was home from running errands. He called her name as he walked through the door and she responded, letting him know of her location by the kitchen window. Using the sound of her voice and his wand he found her. Realizing that she was facing away from him, he wrapped his arms around her waist and rested his head on her shoulder.
“Hello dear. I missed you.” He greeted her as he lovingly placed kisses on her cheek and neck. “I missed you too sweetheart!” She allowed a smile to creep on to her face, unable to deny how happy Ominis made her. She bent her neck to allow him more access to her neck. He showed appreciation for this by continuing his assault on her neck, kissing, sucking, and biting her. Ominis could sense MC was off. Once he had unlatched his mouth from her neck, he turned her around in the hopes of getting her to face him and asked her what was wrong. “Just nervous…” she said softly. She didn’t want to be nervous for fear that Ominis would call the whole thing off, but she also didn’t want to lie to her husband.
“I am too. I’m still not sure this is a great idea. But we need to try. I won’t let them come between us.” MC could hear the nervousness in Ominis’s voice, but only slightly. His voice was mostly stern and determined.
“They’ll never come between us, sweetheart. Never.” MC said as she stroked Ominis’s cheek lovingly. Ominis took hold of the hand that was stroking his face, bringing her hand to his lips to plant kisses on it, his lips landing on her rings. “Come darling” He took her hand and using his wand, he led her to their bedroom. Ominis crashed his lips into MC’s, their tongues dancing together. Without breaking the kiss, MC pulled Ominis onto the bed. Within minutes, the two of them were undressed, Ominis’s body on top of MC’s.
He began to kiss down her body, starting at her neck and working his way down. His lips latched on to one of her nipples. She let out a gasp as he sucked, his tongue swirling around the hardened tip. He showed the same affection to her other nipple before his mouth went down her stomach. He loved doing this to her. It was one of his ways of “seeing” her, tasting every inch of her beautiful body.
His mouth reached its final destination, between her legs. He spread her legs wide and began planting kisses on her inner thighs. After each kiss he placed, he would follow it up with a bite and a suck of her skin. He could never see the marks he left on her, but she always described them to him. He loved knowing that he had left marks on her. She always described them as little dark patches against her skin that symbolized that she was his. Finally, his lips met her center. He planted a kiss on her before he spread her folds with his fingers and licked a long stripe from her entrance all the way up. She let out a scream.
His lips focused on her sensitive clit, kissing and sucking on it, which drew out the most sinful noises from her as she gripped the bedsheets for dear life. At the same time, he had two fingers inside her, pumping them in and out of her. Between the sounds of her moans and the sounds of her wet hole, Ominis was in a state of pure ecstasy. He felt her back begin to arch, her hips lifting off the bed, and her walls tightening around his fingers. He was extremely familiar with these actions and what they meant, so he pumped his fingers harder and sucked her harder. MC’s orgasm hit a moment later, her whole body shaking as she screamed his name. He sat up, reveling in the sounds of her panting heavily trying to catch her breath.
He ran his hands up her body to realign himself with her as she positioned her legs on either side of him, confirming that he was in the right place. He took himself into his hand, his tip already dripping with arousal, and slid easily into her. His pace was rough due to the stress he was feeling about their plan. He was taking out his frustration on her, and she more than welcomed it, letting out loud moans that filled their bedroom. He joined her as his panting turned into deep groans, continuing to thrust into her hard. “Darling, you feel so good. You’re mine, forever. Your body is mine. No one will ever change that. No one is taking you from me.” His voice was low and deep. MC loved when he talked like this. For as long as she knew him, there was always a darkness to him. He hid it well, choosing to stray away from it. He was a good person and she knew it, even if he didn’t think he was at times. But there were rare occasions where his darkness would peek through, and she loved it. “Cum for me darling.” He growled. It was not a request, but a demand, a demand that she met immediately as she fell over the edge for the second time that night.
He was still thrusting into her, albeit sloppily when she regained her composure after her release. She took a second to gaze up at the man she loved, his pale skin flushed red, his blond hair disheveled, his milky blue eyes rolling back. Even in this state, moments away from release, he was beautiful, and in that moment, she realized that whatever happened these next few days would all be worth it for him. “It’s your turn now, baby. Cum for me.” MC whispered. He let out a whimper as he spilled into her. She could feel him pulsating as he filled her. He rolled off of her and the two of them laid on the bed for several moments in silence, the only sound in the room being the sound of their breaths.
After a moment, MC turned to face him. Ominis, hearing her movements, turned to face her as well. She brought her palm to his cheek, her thumb gently rubbing his face. He closed his eyes, melting into the warmth of her hand. “It’s going to be okay, right?” Her voice was soft. “Yes.” He replied, “Because it has to be. There is no other option.”
They repositioned themselves so that MC could lay on Ominis’s chest, their arms wrapped around each other. Ominis was the first to fall asleep, his soft snores filling the room. But MC took longer to fall asleep. Her mind focused on one thing only. The plan seemed fool proof. The potion had been tested, the metaphorical seeds of their fabricated story had been planted, but Merlin forbid they actually did mess up. Being caught would mean trouble for the boys, but certain death for MC.

I’ve actually been sitting on an au idea for quite a while. I discussed this IN DEPTH with my friend a while back but I wanna get your thoughts on it. I was wondering what would have happened if Sebek was sorted into a different dorm. I always settled for him being sorted into Pomefiore, seeing as how their whole thing is embodying the Evil Queen’s spirit of tenacity, of which Sebek has an abundance of. They’re also skilled at cultivating a unique sense of style, something Sebek ALSO does quite well. BUT SEBEK ADMITTED HIMSELF IF HE HAD TO BE IN ANY OTHER DORM BESIDES DIASOMNIA HE’D CHOOSE OCTINAVELLE. But the thought of Sebek in Heartslabyul flourishing under a strict regiment of conduct and Riddle’s no nonsense rule. I JUST KEEP WONDERING WHICH WOULD SUIT HIM BEST. While I also think he would represent Savanaclaw’s persistence well, I just think he’d despise the chaos and lack of order. And Ignihyde is out of the question.
But then that also leads me to the OTHER au of all the freshmen going into different dorms. Jack headed off to Heartslabyul, Epel to Savanaclaw, Deuce to Scarabia, Sebek to Pomefiore and Ace to Octinavelle. Personality wise I think they’d blossom in their newly assigned dorms respectively, but I wanna see what you think.
OH WE ARE COOKING.
I'm going to start playing with the idea of the whole first year group switching dorms before doing the "only Sebek switches" one.
First of all, absolutely love the dorms you casted them in mwah mwah mwah. Jack is a stickler for the rules in his own weird kind of way, believes in fair play and is quite possibly one of the most law-abiding students in the school...if it weren't for the fact that if morality and his own beliefs comes into play, he's willing to break a rule or two for the sake of his friends.
Epel is going to be underestimated by a LOT of Savanaclaw, but his stubbornness will help him put up a good fight. Even if he loses in the end, its shown that the students are smart enough to not go by someone's looks after they prove themselves to be strong and persistent. There is a chance that his character development regarding masculinity and his toxic view of it may be delayed...unless Leona gets on his case about it, because the women in Sunset Savanna are NOT to be messed with and so is any other woman, kid what the FUCK are you on about.
I was a bit unsure of Deuce being in Scarabia, but then I remembered this is the kid who changed his ways after overhearing his mom crying about him and decided the best way to make his mom proud is to become an honor student. Being an honor student is fucking HARD, as someone who USED to be one, so bro needs to plan and worry about more things than just academics, because trying to snag a spot as an honor student also means being on your best behavior.
Then I was STILL unsure, and saw Ace was at Octavinelle, and that's when I realized oh these mfs are a package deal fr!!! Deuce and Ace could switch between Octavinelle and Scarabia and IT WOULD STILL FUCKING FIT THEM. Ace is cunning and resourceful in ways you wouldnt expect (Scarabia), while also being very thoughtful and considerate when it comes to his friends (Octavinelle). Deuce is mindful of how his actions and words can affect other people (and his spot as an honor student) as long as his emotions dont get the best of him (Scarabia), and is goodwilled (Octavinelle). I love Adeuce.
Anyways, onto the ACTUAL idea part. Yeah. that wasn't the whole post. Sue me.
Jack can fulfill Adeuce's role in Book 1, me thinks. Even if he doesn't break any rules, his sense of justice will get him to call out Riddle for how his actions have affected the whole dorm. Riddle's overblot will be a bit delayed, since there's no punching the dormhead and the ruined unbirthday thing, but that shit's definitely going to happen still.
Epel would also be able to fulfill Jack's role. His admiration for Leona and Ruggie will make him feel all the more betrayed when he finds out that theyre actually going to cheat their way through the game. I feel that he would want to showcase his skills by battling a worthy (very much overpowered) opponent, not someone who'll end up underneath a stampede. Jack tagging along will also spur him on as they both share the same admiration for Leona.
ACE IS DEFINITELY GOING TO MESS WITH AZUL HAHAHA. THIS is one overblot that will actually be sped up. The same things still happen, except Yuu and the group get the information much faster from ACE, who is oh so willing to betray Azul and the Leech twins. He got sea anemone'd haha. The loser.
i FORGOT TO MENTION: Ace and Deuce are still the first people Yuu meets. Just yknow. Different dorms and all. Im not sure if Deuce would fall for Azul's contract, considering the fact that he's under Kalim and JAMIL, the latter knowing fully well how Azul is, but for the sake of the story he DID get sea anemone'd.
Because Im a sucker for them, Ace initially didnt give up information without something in return, before Yuu suddenly said out of nowhere that Deuce also fell for Azul's contract. Ace laughs it off, saying if theyre trying to get him to pity Deuce, they have to try harder than that. But eventually, Ace caves in because he genuinely does like Deuce because "he's a cool guy" and agrees to help them out free of charge. Theyre a duo in any universe fr 🔥🔥🔥
Scarabia overblot is the only thing that turns out to be MOSTLY the same, minus Deuce being sad that Jamil wasnt cool like that...but the mess is cleaned up fairly quickly.
FINALLY getting to Sebek. Fuck.
Sebek is INCONSOLABLE that he is NOT in Diasomnia. He unfortunately cannot camp out in their courtyard as he's claimed he will because Vil and Rook have him on CONSTANT supervision. Vil is a bit sad he wasnt able to get the lavender-haired boy in Pomefiore, but I guess he has to settle for the loud guy instead...he can work with this, Sebek already has this unique charm to him anyway.
Rook is FASCINATED. A HALF-FAE!?!?!?! IN THEIR DORM!?!?!? A dream come true. He literally stops tailing after any beastmen and mermen for a week, and Leona prays to the heavens above in thanks. He's even more delighted when he finds out Sebek consumes media of the same obscure opera he follows, so rest assured Rook is hanging around Sebek.
Im not sure if Sebek would take Epel's place in VDC, but I guess its SOMEWHAT possible, since he's shown some skills in Spectral Soiree anyway. Epel is still involved anyway because the apple juice is literally from his family, so.
Sebek's character development will be faster, I will say. Vil's view of beauty does not lie in one's looks as most people may believe, as he views beauty to be something you WORK HARD FOR. Rook sees beauty in EVERYTHING, regardless of any flaws. These two are actually going to be quite impactful on Sebek's journey on learning that his fae blood does NOT make him superior than others, but his human blood doesnt make him inferior as well. Yeah. I think he'll turn out alright.
Ignihyde events turn out the same way, although Im not too sure as well if Sebek takes Epel's place as well. This is where Im too stupid. Sorry guys. And now we head to DIASOMNIA.
...WHICH I WILL CONTINUE IN ANOTHER POST!!! AS WELL AS THE "ONLY SEBEK SWITCHES DORMS" IDEA!!!!!! BECAUSE THIS IS TOO LONG!!!!

i just think a "friended/romanced + saved + trust aj" violet does such a good job rounding out the plot and characters of S4 and i dont say that lightly
she walls people off out of fear just like S3 clem did and learned to grow out of through the compassion of others. feeling like she could have done more to save minnie being what initially makes her step up to lead, but her accepting her love for clem (and clem choosing to save her) is what leads to her Truly accepting the school and everyone inside it as her Home and gives her something to fight for ("i tried my damnedest not to care about either of you. and i still couldnt tell you why." "i know where youre coming from. after losing so many people, sometimes its easier to keep everyone at arms length." "and then you wonder why you fight so hard to stay alive. i dont wonder anymore."). this being the reasoning behind violets detachment from the school, as well as a negative home life impacting her idea of what a home even was. but together they turn ericson from a prison into the home theyve BOTH been looking for, renaming it together, and envisioning it for the future together. the two of them understand each other deeply, from what theyve lost to how its affected them and the poor ways theyve decided to react to it. but through their support of the other, they BOTH get to evolve into more relaxed and confident versions of themselves, who know Exactly what theyre fighting for
her troubled relationship with brody and getting to learn more about what happened with the twins/violets reaction to it and how she ultimately blames herself/brodys guilt about her part in it and how she misses violet. getting the chance to mend that relationship before its too late. the 3 of them becoming closer because of it. and getting to develop clems friendship with brody leads to a more impactful moment later in the basement
her relationship with tenn reflecting clems relationship with aj, in the way they both made the decision to look after their respective boys after their primary guardians died (ajs parents, tenns sisters). both of them can understand the responsibilities they have taken upon themselves, and how hard it can be to do right. the 4 of them become a tight knit group quickly. especially in EP2 as vi supports clem while tenn supports aj through the marlon fiasco
her confused relationship with minerva introducing interesting conflict both within her relationship with clem (who has her own personal conflict with minerva, which vi still ties into through her relationship with both minnie and tenn) and the over arching plot, which has themes of learning when to let someone go because they are no longer who they once were (clem and lilly "we were family once", mitch about ms martin "you get all caught up in who people used to be, and you cant deal with whats in front of you", violet about minnie "the real minnie? shes been gone this whole time and i have to stop mourning her")
having a saved violet on the boat expanding the conversation with minerva about her motivations with the delta. violet apologizing for never looking for her, minnie saying she knows she would have but that its too late now, so sure this is just the way things have to be. getting to hear minnie say "you can be rewarded, just like i am", giving us insight into her character. and clem getting the last word before she rams the door down, her and violet fighting minnie Together. and violet saves clems life, making the Choice to shoot minerva, which in and of itself is a huge moment for violets character in regards to her relationship with both minnie And clem
and aj shooting tenn on the bridge brings things full circle, by putting violet in the same position louis was in EP2, where aj has killed the most important person to her, in an effort to save her life, and now she must reckon with those feelings the same way louis had to about marlon. not so easy now is it violet? ("so youre mad, but sad" "can i be that for a while?" "yeah, its ok")
just... ough... violets whole character just fits into Everything so well, but in a way that elevates the characters and plots around her, while also developing her into her own

RANT TIME
Okay, unpopular opinion that no one asked for but I have nowhere else to vent it so you're stuck with it time. I HATE the animated trolls shows, The Beat Goes On and Trollstopia. With a burning passion. I will admit, TBGO wasn't as bad as Trollstopia imo, but it was still bad. Why, you may ask?
Allow me to explain.
First off, let's start with TBGO. Now, since this comes after the first movie and we don't have a lot of context beyond it, I let a lot slide. But the main transgression I have is that this show brought Creek back. CREEK. Of all the MISERABLE LOUSY PATHETIC COWARDS to resurrect, they picked CREEK. WHY. Why was this necessary???? He adds nothing to the story beyond an annoying presence that makes me want to hurl my device like Captain America's shield. AND THEN, they make Branch the bad guy for not trusting him immediately. OF COURSE HE DIDN'T TRUST CREEK, THE SLIMY POS SOLD EVERYONE OUT TO SAVE HIS OWN SKIN. DID EVERYONE FORGET THAT!?!?! And then this leads to Branch having to APOLOGIZE to Creek and then eventually to them sort of becoming friends. THIS WOULD NEVER HAPPEN. Every episode he was in I could feel myself losing braincells.
If you thought that was alot, stick around for my rant on Trollstopia because holy shit, where do I begin?
Now, the idea behind Trollstopia is actually a good one. Like hey, everyone is so spread out, how about a group from every tribe comes to live in the middle which happens to be Pop Village? Genius! And I will admit, in the beginning it seemed promising! And then, they fucked it up.
How, you may ask?
Simple. My point can be simplified to 2 main subjects:
They put WAAAYYYY too much effort into Poppy's relationships with literally EVERYONE ELSE and nowhere near enough into her relationship with Branch, HER BOYFRIEND.
They absolutely, totally, 110,000% DESTROYED Branch's character.
I shall now explain my stance. First off, we have point #1. Now, don't get me wrong. Poppy should absolutely have relationships with other trolls! She's the queen, for hair's sake! And I really did enjoy the fact that she made new friends and got really close with them. As someone who has eternally struggled with making and maintaining friendships, I loved seeing her do what I usually cannot. HOWEVER, this is no excuse to neglect her relationship with her actual fucking BOYFRIEND. Trollstopia takes place after TWT, after Branch and Poppy confessed and entered a relationship (if you wanna argue with me, look at the official Trolls Wiki, it'll back me up). But if you watch the show, you can barely tell they LIKE each other, let alone that they're dating. The show ran for 7 seasons and, out of those seasons, can anyone tell me a single episode where they were the focus? I won't even ask about them as a couple, just them interacting together being the focus! Poppy and her friends repeatedly bulldozed over Branch, his feelings, and his boundaries, constantly mocked him, and shit on anything he wanted to do. I swear at times it was like watching Trolls 1 Branch and Poppy interact.
Finally, my second point: Branch's character. They absolutely fucking took all of Branch's hard earned character development from 2 movies and a holiday special and went:
Tumblr media
Wanna know how I know? What does Branch actually DO in Trollstopia? About every 10th episode, he shows up to offer a crappy sarcastic remark that pales in comparison to his usual ones and does one of 3 things:
Gets hurt
Gets made fun of
Acts like a total moron, and not in a cute way.
He's basically turned into Jay from the later seasons of Ninjago (my apologies Jay, I love you but you know it's true). I mean, in one episode he got his ass absolutely HANDED to him when he tried the rodeo! COME ON. The dude who caught a stick fired at him without looking and jumped in front of a death bolt to save Poppy got served by a fucking bull thing? Bullshit (no pun intended). To add onto this, when he's not being trampled and beaten for no fucking reason, he's being used for the most CRINGEWORTHY comedic relief. I mean really, there was a whole episode about how he wanted to be called a "cool nickname" by Lownote. Really? We really think that's in character? And to top it off, he gets stuck with "Skippy Two-Shoes". WHAT. THE. FUCK??? I almost had an aneurysm when I heard that. And everyone was fine with it!!!! Which leads into my last point, NO ONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT HIM DESPITE THE FACT THAT HE SAVED POPPY AND IS HER FUCKING BOYFRIEND. There was a whole fucking episode about him getting all pissed off at the Techno Trolls for taking over his lagoon in his bunker (which I have to say I'm jealous he has) to have "raves" at like 4am. WHO WOULDN'T BE PISSED OFF??? My upstairs neighbors bang around at all fucking hours of the day and it drives me insane so I get why Branch is mad! BUT WHY DOES NO ONE ELSE? Why is it when he complains he gets told that he's being "unfair" and has to "share"? Fuck that, he was there first! It's not like Trollstopia isn't huge, they can find somewhere else to infest at 4am!
In conclusion, I hate the animated shows because they destroy the relationship between Branch and Poppy and demolish all of Branch's character development, reducing him to the annoying sidekick that always gets cheered at when they get hurt or die tragically.
End of rant. Thank you for sticking with me, I needed to get that off my shoulders. Branch is my favorite character and it infuriates me that he gets the short end of the stick all the time. Enjoy this as a reward:

hi
you've mentioned that sparrows would have reincarnated as a slugcat?
would you mind elaborating on that?
also would they have met caper again after becoming all scuggy?
heehee
hoohoo hee :)c of course i'll elaborate! it is Her ✨ Fish's little best animal friend
Tumblr media
wonderfully enough, Sparrows and the Tinkerer were developed completely removed from each other in my head, so Tinkerer still feels like a rather separate character from Sparrows even though they somehow wound up havin a lot of similiarities. exactly how the reincarnation stuff should feel like
the Tinkerer is Sparrows! and no character in-universe will ever find out. it isn't important. nobody but Tinkerer is affected by this, and Tinktink doesn't really have the means to speak about it. but for us behind the screens that know about this it will make Tinktink's interactions with the world just a lil bit more juicy
you've sent this at a good time, too! the day ur question came in i was actually pondering how to somehow make use of this reincarnation fact and not just let it float about as a lil bonus for the people that would know about this lil tiny ultimately unimportant connection
so, the idea: as we (probably) all know, Euros is going to end up developing the Rot. this is distressing for a large amount of reasons, but the main point rn is that Euros is also a secret archive of folklore of the lower circles in the Eo group, plus maybe even a little bit over the range's borders to the east (after all, there's two more groups right next door to him n he's a phone operator chief). Euros is going to die a slow painful death and he won't be able to care for or save his collection of knowledge, which somehow manages to hurt him more than the reality of his impending doom
maybe not so surprising, considering that in his archive are the stories, the history, the spirit of his late lover's home- a place he clung to for as long as he could, the one he spent the most time in with his overseers, the one that held people he constantly wished could be his citizens instead of the vile and fake *things* soiling the streets of Ales
so one day after the Fish has properly reconnected to the Eo group, is caught up on current events and trying his *damnest* to revive Mission Self-preservation even though it is guaranteed to be useless, Euros mentions the nightmare that he's living through
"I'm a dead man walking, carrying precious treasures of people that were never heard crying out. I've held them close and safely within myself for over two thousand years. And now, when I'm fated to rot through and splatter on the ground, I fear all this time will be for nought. That I will kill what I've been protecting for so long."
"Even if nobody ever reads these- learns of them, hears them out from above their graves- I can't bear the thought of losing them."
and well Fish DOES have a lot of beef with Euros, but at this point this bitterness is starting to give away to desperation and horror of the terrible torment waiting for them in the future. he might be stubbornly still trying with the Mission, but he would go against what makes him himself if he didn't acknowledge that they are all damned for good no matter what he tries. so he gives in to the pity and hails Tinkerer to his chamber
he explains to her what he needs her to do and tells Euros about the plan. Tinktink has to travel all of this distance
Tumblr media
to get to Euros (basically walk through the whole Europe), but dammit, she helped one Iterator that became her closest friend, she will help another one (a different Gen 2 that she loved and dedicated her whole life to in a different life)
Fish sends her on her way with a hug and a plead to keep herself safe
it takes her over a month to get there even with the help of vehicles like the barely working trains and a remshackle sky-sail that Fish guided her through fixing in their free time together. when she gets on top of Euros' structure, the dejavus start to hit. she visits the Mechanics' home, her feet carrying her to the bedroom as if it was just another end of the workshift. she looks in the cupboards she- opened millions of times- never even touched. she walks outside and then down the path to the entrance into the Iterator she's- taken countless times- never set a foot on
she saw these halls so many times she can pin point where every screw is- she's never been here, she can't understand these giant beings, they are too complex for her animal brain. that specific rhythm of beeps and pumps and water rushing through metal veins has haunted- comforted- her in many of her dreams. the Tinkerer makes it to the chamber almost like on an auto-pilot
when she enters the chamber, the slugcat finds itself disappointed, scared, confused- this isn't what this place is supposed to look like (but how does she know what it is supposed to look like-?), this isn't how she left it (this is the first time she stands here, what are these thoughts). it's supposed to be brighter. warmer. why is the puppet's plating and skin damaged by time, where is it its vibrancy, why are its eyes so tired? there are panels missing from the walls ("it's got to be the results of that Fever i once made a proj- i can fix thi-! what?"), glowing artificial bronze robins fly about or sleeping on his shoulders, tiny Rot cysts pulsate from the cracks in the umbilical arm. where has the firebird in that halo gone off to?
Euros greets her joyfully ("oh what are you trying to play at, you goof. i've known you for so long, i can tell when something's wrong. what's hurting? why are you tired? i'll get you back into shape, doncha worry love.")
"Ah, you made it! Welcome to my chamber, adroit little thing."
"Please. Your journey was a long one. I hold no doubt a very dangerous one, too. I won't march you into the job immediately. Rest up."
Tinkerer thinks he's strange. but her legs are indeed hurting, the bag strapped to her is heavy. she curls up in the corner of the room and tries to get some shut eye. she almost falls asleep when Euros starts mumbling under his breath, shooting nervous glances towards the birds. five fingered hands tremble so badly the joints rattle like a child's toy. he's scary, when his shoulders hunch up like that and those tired eyes turn frantic. but it hurts so much to see him like that for some reason, more so than it is scary. so against the better judgement of a survivor, she softly coos at him
the puppet's head snaps to her, gaze cold. the mumbles increase in volume, allowing her to understand
"...I'll tell you what. I have another mission for you, little messenger. But it has to stay a secret between the two of us. Nobody would approve, especially not the one you belong to now."
something whispers that the puppet closing in is supposed to be a comfort. the larger part of the Tinkerer instead finds itself wishing to run away
"Are you aware of the Memory Crypts that lie beneath all of us City Bearers?"
cautious nod, back pressed against the wall
"Good."

Part 3 of the confessions!! Finally!!!
A/N: fair warning, I wrote half of these in the middle of my health class and the other half at two in the morning- so they might seem rushed sorry<3 Also thank you Cater for coming home.. Not once.. BUT TWICE!!
Warnings: I have no idea how to write Jack-, and like usual not proofread-
GN!reader using the in game nicknames though (Shrimpy, sweet potato)
Characters: Vil Schoenheit (464 words), Jack Howl (414 words), Floyd Leech (448 words)
Vil Schoenheit:
Vil would most likely hear of you through Rook before he actually met you in person, though from what he heard from Rook you were at least interesting
and you met face to face when you, Epel and the rest of the first years were hanging out. You know the usual bickering between Epel and Vil, though Vil did talk to you for a moment or two
he wasn't mean or rude, but wasn't really nice either.
he'd most definitely be one of the people who needs to talk and interact for at least a week before he developed an opinion on you.
a week passed and his actions didn't really change more time passed and he stayed the same, Vil couldn't make out his feelings towards you.
though he would suggest skin care and makeup products that he thought would do you good. But it's not in a backhanded way either, it's almost like he's the complete natural around you.
truth be told, he had partly figured out his feelings after a few months, he didn't dislike you, though at the same time it was still difficult to figure out how he felt
Epel was getting annoyed with how much time Vil was spending around you, "are you in love with them or somethin'? With all the time you spend around them you might as well be"
Vil scolded Epel for his accent and making such an accusation about his dorm leader, but Vil wouldn't admit that that he never thought that he might love you.
the thought felt right to him, so his neural slowly turned nice towards you, though in public it was very much on the down low.
he would wait till he's had a crush for a while to think of how to confess, though when he does find a way, I have a feeling that it’d be really romantic.
Vil strikes me as a person who would do something in a cheesy romance movie and think it’s the most romantic shit ever, problem is it works and he comes off as a complete romantic.
He would most likely invite you to try a new skin care routine he’d make light hearted conversation with you and drop some flirty remarks such as:
“My my, you do look beautiful today sweet potato, did you put more care in yourself for me? I’m flattered!”
And they’ll come at the most random times too, if you don’t get the hint and are really fucking dense he’ll become more upfront until he practically confesses to you
“You know, everything I say about you is true, you do look absolutely stunning almost, if not all, of the time. Only someone like you is fit of being my partner, so what do you say, darling?”
Jack Howl:
Ever since Leonas overblot the Jack popped into the chaos group with the other three idiots, (ace, grim, and deuce)
Jack I feel like is the type of friend to regularly check up on you to see if your being healthy. Basically just eating and taking care of yourself.
A few times Jack brought you some extra food since he felt like you weren’t eating enough, he’d get super embarrassed if you mentioned it though.
Jack’s a little bit protective but not like possessive, he just wants to make sure your safe and well! he really just cares for you but doesn’t know how to express it in words.
Jack most likely came to the realization of his feelings on his own accord, I mean he has a lot of time to think during his morning runs, plus I can see him being really emotionally intelligent I don’t know why-
All of the things I just mentioned, they become a lot more common, and if you’re someone who likes to work out Jack might start asking you to join him in his routines.
Daily check in’s, some extra snacks everyday, and becoming a bit more protective of you are all things you can expect from Jack.
Now though you can usually catch Jack staring at you, when caught he’ll get flustered and turn away almost instantly. (Maybe a tail wag??? Depends on his mood..)
I can also see Jack giving you little potted house plants, think like succulents or maybe some cacti. He says it’ll help brighten up ramshackle a bit
As for confessions, I feel like Jack would be a little bit nervous and have a bit of a hard time approaching you about it. So he’d most likely not confess face to face (Kind of like Riddle in my other set of headcannons)
Though Jack’s better at keeping his head straight and not getting to worked up about it, don’t get me wrong though, he’s still nervous!
Jack would probably bring you a new plant to take care of, even if you already have a few in your room and slowly becoming a plant parent
He’d specifically give you a type of succulent called a Kalanchoe (They’re often associated with romance and love) with a small note on the pot of it.
it would most likely read:
“I like you, and I want to be with you.” Short and sweet, all the while he’s looking at the ground with his tail wagging.
Floyd Leech
This mother fucker- We already know Floyd is clingy and and loves affection, it’s kind of a given.
As a friend I can see Floyd teasing you and joking around you since he’s a silly guy, he’s always saying some sort of silly remark or some weird story he heard.
Use this power wisely, you could learn about a lot of things happening in the school, or you learn about a random mushroom Jade made him eat. No inbetween.
I can also see Floyd randomly just- collapsing onto you, like your just walking then all of a sudden you have a eel slumped over your back, head on your shoulder
Floyd is just a menace that’s a given, but now he’s your menace to deal with so good luck.
As for crush behavior, I want you to take that clinginess and just multiply it by like ten. Thought Floyd was bad before? Well good fucking luck you’re in it now!
surprise hugs? check. Popping up at random times to mess with you? Check. Sometimes following you around to make sure no one gets too friendly with his little shrimpy? Big ole’ check!
While Floyd has his moments hes not dumb so he can tell if he’s fallen for you, I mean that and Jade could tell if he changed at all
You now have Floyd attached to your hip at all hours he can be with you, need to go cause you forgot something at ramshackle? He’s coming with no arguments.
A lot more hugs! and I mean a lot, if you ask him to tone it down, he’ll respect it, but there will still be a lot of affection
I can see the confession being kind of accidental, like some random student won’t leave you alone and has an obvious crush on you
they won’t take the hint that you’re not interested and one day decide to confess to you... while Floyd is with you... oh boy..
At first Floyd just glare at him, and after a bit of silence he’ll just start laughing. like.. you know the kind of laugh i’m think of right?
The student would be put off and you might be a little confused but his mood changes from laughing and funny to serious real fucking quick as he leans down a bit to hug you from behind
“ This little shrimpy is mine. so leave them alone, unless you want to be in the hospital for a looong time.” The student runs off, and Floyd goes back to his happy self
“You know, we should just start dating already so you don’t have to deal with that anymore, what do you say shrimpy?~”

Best Underrated Anime Group A Round 1: #A2 vs #A7
#A2: Girls do DIY together, but after a new industrial revolution
This series takes place after the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Serufu and her childhood friend Miku/“Purin” both applied to an elite school, where advanced technologies are incorporated into the curriculum. The tech-savvy Purin is accepted into the school, but accident-prone Serufu is rejected and enters a traditional school instead, driving a wedge into their friendship.
On her way to class one day, Serufu encounters Rei, who has a passion for old-fashioned crafts and is the head of the school’s Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Club—which is in danger of closing due to a lack of members. Realizing that this may be her chance to repair her relationship with Purin, Serufu joins the club in hopes of creating projects that could bring them together once more.

#A7: Immortal being learns what it’s like to be human
This show is about an immortal being learning of death, life, and what it means to be human. They’re able to shapeshift into anything they create an emotional bond with, but with a cost: if they wish to transform into a living being, including people, that person has to have died.
Titles, propagandas, trailers, and poll under the cut!
Tumblr media
#A2: Do it Yourself!!
youtube
Propaganda:
It’s just a really feel-good series with some really good characters. I adore all of the characters and their dynamics with each other, especially the main dynamic between Serufu and Purin as it develops. I’m a really big fan of the show’s angle on stuff such as do-it-yourself crafts following another industrial revolution, just because it does frequently bring up the question of “What’s the point of DIY if in a year or two/maybe even now a robot could recreate the exact same result?” through characters like Purin (who is the major character with the lowest opinion on these kinds of crafts at the start, since she’s in the technologically advanced school and has beliefs more in line with the efficacy of technology rather than the joy of human creation), with the short answer largely being because it’s just fun!
I first watched this show before I saw a lot of AI stuff intruding upon art and rewatching it after sure was fun, because I love its ideas on the worth of doing stuff that machinery could do much faster. It’s not super complex or emotional, but that largely goes in its favor, because it really doesn’t need to be those. It’s just a fun little anime about a bunch of girls having fun together through one shared hobby that some of them had from the start and some of them adopted. I also love the opening, and the ending is a massive comfort song for me. The series can also be very funny at points, and is usually super heartwarming.
Trigger Warnings: None.
Tumblr media
#A7: To Your Eternity (Fumetsu no Anata e)
youtube
Propaganda:
I don’t think I’ve ever watched an anime that has meant so much. Fushi’s journey from being born as nothing and without emotions, to becoming a genuine, real person who loves and cries is so special to me. The constant war he’s in between being too human and being not human at all is written so well—for him to love so much it hurts, leading him to isolate himself for years on end, for him to want to make friends, to love, but too afraid of them leaving and eventually dying to meet anyone new. For him to get so detached from life and death and the cycle it perpetuates that he loses understanding of why human life is so special—why should he save people, if they will die anyway? Why should he save them, if he can just bring them back to life, if he can just become them? The constant cycle of him learning to love again, and learning to treasure life again, only to lose it once he’s experienced death in a new and agonizing way. It’s about love, and it’s about humanity. Always.
Trigger Warnings: Animal Cruelty/Death, Child Abuse, Graphic Depictions of Cruelty/Violence/Gore, Racism, Rape/Non-Con, Self-Harm, Suicide
All TW’s apply to the protagonists, except child abuse and the racism. The world itself has hints of racism/discrimination throughout the anime, and not directly towards the protagonist. As for the rape, an antagonist attempts to rape the protagonist. There is a ton of self harm (protagonist and side characters) and blood as there is a lot of wars also happening in the anime

You know how you have an idea and your brain just gets stuck on it until you share it or otherwise do something about it? Or are you normal?
Yes, this is about my OCs. In fact, it's probably everything you (n)ever wanted to know about Nikolai Pavlenko.
It's gonna be long. Apologies.
Seriously, you get all the 🍪 and ⭐️ if you make it through this Chaotic Info Post™
Anyway, I was just thinking about how some of my best and/or favourite OCs were only meant to be secondary characters, but somehow became so interesting to me (either on their own or in relation to other characters) that I absolutely had to develop them. Nikolai was one of those, and now, so are his potential love interests, Ginger and Mishka.
I already had skeletal backstories for both Ginger and Mishka (Ginger's was a bit more in-depth, to be fair, but still...) Now, suddenly they're both telling me all kinds of things about themselves to the point where I can't even decide which one of them Nikolai is meant to be with. I mean, let's face it; he's definitely not meant to be with Anya again, and he's too loving and sweet to be alone.
Nikolai can credit all his former coaches and his figure skating friends, and his students to some degree, for shaping who he is as a person. He loves his parents and has a good relationship with them, but his father in particular is not the sort of person to show much emotion or demonstrate affection and his mother is a bold, no-nonsense woman who can come off as brusque and rude to people who don't know her. Nikolai is not like that. He's gentle and patient and he likes to show others how he feels and loves to give and receive affection. It was his coaches, Stanislav and Beth-Anne, who brought out the best in him, and in reality they often parented him just as much or more than his parents did. As an adult, and since becoming a coach himself, he's also learned a lot about how to have good relationships with people and also a lot about himself.
As a teenager, Nikolai's closest friends were all figure skaters, like him. He started skating at the age of five, when his family lived in another town. At his old skating club, he didn't manage to make a lot of friends and would have been desperately lonely if it weren't for his sister Natascha.
He was sixteen when his family moved, and he flourished at his new rink with his new coach, Stan, who taught him just as much about life and love and the challenges of growing up as he did about figure skating. It was there that he met the people who would become his core group of friends; Anya, Ginger, Hunter, Juliet and Christian.
Vivienne "Ginger" Holmes moved to town during the same summer Nikolai did, so they already had that in common when they met. She was only 14 and had come all the way to Canada from the UK specifically to train with Stan. She was living with a host family, but was essentially on her own, according to her. She and Nikolai bonded instantly, not just over being the new kids at school and the rink, but also over their shared love of dance, bike racing, comic books and spicy food. Ginger never acted stereotypically "girly" and Nikolai appreciated that. It was easy to think of her as a buddy and a confidante, without the complication of adolescent infatuation.
Anya, on the other hand, was a totally different story. She was also 14 when Nikolai met her. Like him, she was the child of an immigrant family, but unlike him, she was well-integrated, attractive and popular. Nikolai tried to avoid her at first, thinking that she was probably mean and shallow like most of the other pretty, popular girls he'd met at his old school. It was actually Anya who approached him. She was learning photography from her grandfather, and wanted to take pictures of Nikolai on the ice. He refused at first, but after Anya kept pestering him, he finally agreed one day. After practice that day, he agreed to go with Anya to get food, and they naturally started talking. Slowly but surely, they got to know each other, and he learned to trust her. As they both approached adulthood, he realized that somewhere along the way, he'd fallen in love with her.
Nikolai and Anya married when he was 25 and she was 23. They were both actively competing and were at the peak of their skating careers. The year they got married, Nikolai won his first World Championship gold medal, and Anya came away with bronze, her second World Championship medal in three years.
Unfortunately, their marriage was not meant to last. Neither of them were ready for the responsibility of a marriage. They were juggling their training and competition schedules, their finances, managing their shared home, and dealing with growing pressure from both their families to start a family of their own. Even though they didn't realize it at the time, neither of them had been ready for a marriage. They hadn't been mature or stable enough, and Anya in particular hadn't been ready to settle down.
The final blow to their marriage that they hadn't been able to overcome was the injury that abruptly ended Nikolai's competitive skating career. He was 27, and competing in the Four Continents Cup, when he injured his knee in a spectacularly bad fall. Even before the doctors and physical therapists assessed his injury, he somehow knew that his career was over, and that he'd never be in another competition.
The eventual prognosis was that he would recover enough to be able to walk and run normally, and even to be able to skate again one day if he did everything the medical professionals told him to. But, they said, he would never be able to compete again. His damaged knee would not tolerate the amount and intensity of training required for it.
Nikolai wasn't ready to accept that reality. He couldn't decide if he was more angry or sad about it, and he became increasingly depressed. Anya couldn't handle the burden of taking care of him while he recovered, with his irritability and mood swings and seemingly random bouts of crying or angry outbursts making things even worse. She decided to leave, and packed her things to go move in with her grandfather.
As if Nikolai wasn't already broken enough, Anya's departure absolutely shattered him. He felt like he was losing everything. He actually contemplated taking his own life, and he might very well have done if not for his coach at the time, Beth-Anne.
Beth-Anne received a phone call in the middle of the night, and on the other end of the line was Nikolai, sobbing inconsolably and telling her that he was scared. Beth-Anne didn't ask questions. She told him to go and unlock the door and not to do anything else, and that she'd be there in ten minutes. She threw on some clothes, grabbed her car keys and sped all the way there. When she got there, she found Nikolai sitting on the floor in the entryway, still crying and looking absolutely exhausted. He hadn't even made it back to the sofa or his bed or wherever he'd been when he phoned her. He literally had unlocked the front door and done nothing else until she arrived.
Beth-Anne gathered him up and took him to the ER. She knew he needed help, at least to settle him down. Anything else he needed after that, she could handle herself. She lost patience with the doctors who were going on about anti-depressants and therapy, once they'd heard the full story, and she vetoed the idea of them admitting him for a psychological evaluation. She verbally exploded on the doctor with, "He doesn't need his head examined and he doesn't need fucking drugs! He needs a sense of purpose and someone who actually gives a shit!" That got the tiniest smile out of Nikolai, and Beth-Anne was silently and secretly pleased.
In the end, she and Nikolai did acquiesce to a painkiller for his leg and some medication to help him sleep, and agreed that he should stay in the hospital overnight for observation. Beth-Anne bullied the doctor into letting her stay with Nikolai all night, and she didn't leave his side for more than a few minutes. In the morning, she called Nikolai's parents and informed them that he'd be staying with her for a while, and then with the consent of the doctor, she took a still-drowsy Nikolai home to her place and tucked him into bed in the guest room.
For the first couple of days, Beth-Anne cancelled all her students' practices and stayed home with Nikolai. She made him stay in bed or on the sofa, and practically waited on him. On the third day, however, she bundled him up and took him to the rink with her, telling him that he needed to watch her and observe her students, because she'd be asking him for commentary and critique later. That was his first glimpse into the skating world from the other side of the gate.
As the weeks progressed, Nikolai began to feel better. Every day, he went to the rink with Beth-Anne to be a second set of eyes for her, spotting different things each of the skaters did exceptionally well and things they still needed work on. At home, Beth-Anne helped him work on his physical therapy exercises, taught him how to cook, introduced him to yoga, and happily expounded upon the joys and pains of being a figure skating coach. She answered all his questions about coaching, and encouraged him to join her as an assistant when he was ready.
Eventually he did join her as a coaching assistant. After a few months, he was able to skate again for short periods of time, and then it wasn't long before he'd taken over one of Beth-Anne's beginner groups, teaching his five little skaters mostly on his own, with minimal guidance from Beth-Anne. He was happy to realize she'd been right. The thing he'd needed most was someone who cared about him and something to bring a sense of purpose to his life.
Meanwhile, Anya was deeply regretting her decision to leave Nikolai. She still loved him and wanted to come back, but he wasn't ready for that. He was still hurt, and he didn't think he could put himself through another ride on the emotional roller coaster that had been life with Anya. He filed for divorce, and she didn't contest it.
They were able to repair their friendship, but Nikolai wasn't interested in renewing their romantic relationship at that point. Eventually, he would be, but he needed time. He had to admit that he still loved Anya too, but he realized things would never be good between them until they both changed.
At some point, they settled into a "friends with benefits" arrangement, where they agreed that they weren't going to commit to each other and that they'd be free to see other people.
During that period of time, Nikolai went out with his good friend Ginger several times, but they never once slept together and never liked to say their outings were dates. Nikolai dated other people as well, but nothing ever developed with anyone.
It was on the night that he, Beth-Anne, Ginger, Juliet and Hunter were out at a club, celebrating his thirtieth birthday that he met the person whom he'd have his next serious relationship with, Mikhail Vasiliev (a.k.a. Mishka). Nikolai and Hunter were up at the bar, getting drinks for themselves and the ladies when they noticed a man around their age apparently struggling to explain something to one fo the bartenders. The man was enormous, with bulging muscles clearly visible through his snug-fitting shirt, and Nikolai guessed that if they were standing side-by-side, the top of his head would only come up to the man's shoulder. Despite that, however, the man had an oddly childlike quality about him. His sweet face was crumpled with frustration and he looked like he might cry at any moment if he couldn't make himself understood.
Nikolai's second observation was that he recognized the language the man was speaking in between snatches of halting, broken English.
"He's speaking Russian," Nikolai told Hunter. "I'm going to help him."
As it turned out, Mishka was lost and had come into the club for directions. After not having succeeded in getting help at a convenience store down the street, he'd wandered into the only other establishment that was open at that hour. He explained to Nikolai that he was a professional hockey player, and that he'd been part of a mid-season trade from his old team to the one in Brindleton Bay. He'd only arrived a few days ago, and was staying at a hotel until he found a suitable place to live. This particular evening, he'd had dinner by himself at a restaurant, and then on a whim, decided to take a late evening stroll around town. But then, he'd gotten confused and couldn't find his way back to the hotel.
Nikolai and Hunter invited him to come and join Nikolai's little birthday party, and then Nikolai would take him back to the hotel afterwards. Mishka agreed, mostly because he was a little desperate, but he would later say it was the best choice he'd made in a while.
Nikolai and Mishka spent a lot of time just getting to know each other after that, and soon realized this was not going to be just a friendship. Everyone agreed that Mishka was good for Nikolai, and his family and most of his friends liked him. As for Mishka, he was very happy to find himself surrounded by so many people who cared about him, and to be falling in love with somebody who treated him gently and took care of him the way Nikolai did.
For all his strong, tough appearance, Mishka is a meek and quiet person. The thing he appreciated most about Nikolai is that he recognized Mishka's vulnerability and never judged him for it. He was always there to support him and look after him. For Nikolai, Mishka inspired the same kind of nurturing and protectiveness as his young protégé Eden Seong and all his other students, and the relationship offered him that all-important sense of purpose.
His relationship with Mishka was quiet and steady, with none of the chaos and emotional turbulence that his relationship with Anya had. There were fewer risky adventures, far less wild sex, very little personal drama, and no all-out screaming arguments. They often disagreed, but they rarely fought, and they would always try to make up before going to sleep if they did fight.
To Nikolai, their love was all the sweeter, knowing that they were able to successfully navigate through the aftermath of an argument and still want to curl up together in bed when all was said and done. That always made him feel safe, when they felt satisfied enough with the outcome to finally let themselves go to bed, and he was wrapped in Mishka’s huge, gentle arms. Sometimes Mishka would sing to him; the most unexpectedly angelic voice coming from this massive man who looked like he’d be more at home yelling commands to workers at the dockyard than chanting in a choir.
(Mishka had been in an all-boys choir as a child and young teen)
Mishka is cuddly and affectionate, just like Nikolai, and they both fulfilled each other’s need for physical touch. They also had no qualms about being affectionate in public, and it wasn’t at all a rare sight to see them holding hands while out for a walk or to catch Mishka hugging Nikolai from behind and shyly kissing his cheek while they waited in line for coffee.
Mishka shared Nikolai’s love of cycling, and the two of them liked to go on bike rides together. Their favourite thing to do together was to bike somewhere and go exploring. In the summertime, they’d take several small trips where they’d bike for a while, then hike into to the woods and find a nice spot to put up their tent, and camp in the forest for a night or two. Sometimes they’d find a place to fish, sometimes they’d sit in the sun and read, and sometimes they’d wander around and look at the flowers, mushrooms and trees and simply enjoy the quiet. Mishka often got stressed about getting lost, but Nikolai is good with a compass and so they never did.
Other things they enjoyed together were swimming, dancing, playing video games and of course skating. Sometimes the skating was more about Nikolai showing off while Mishka admired him, but mostly they’d skate laps together until Nikolai’s knee dictated a halt. Then, they’d go home, and Mishka would ice and massage his leg until he felt better.
One of the big challenges in their relationship was Mishka’s travelling. The team was constantly on the go throughout the regular season, and even longer if they made the playoffs. Nikolai didn’t like how often Mishka was away from him, and even though there was a set schedule for the team’s away games and home games, the whole thing still felt unstable and uncertain to him. Psychologically, it was difficult for him, and although he tried not to show how upset and stressed he was every time Mishka had to leave, Mishka always knew. He hated that Nikolai was upset, but there wasn’t much he could do in that situation, which naturally upset him too.
Perhaps the biggest hurdle for them was Anya. Nikolai and Anya’s on-again, off-again friends with benefits situation was in a definite “off again” phase when Nikolai and Mishka decided they were in an official relationship, but that didn’t stop Anya from coming around and trying to make herself at home. She’d show up ostensibly to cook for them, help them with their laundry or bring them something she’d knitted. The whole thing made Mishka feel extremely uncomfortable, and he said so on multiple occasions.
Regardless of the fact that Nikolai told Anya several times he wasn’t interested at all, Anya still tried to flirt with him (and with Mishka, much to Mishka’s distress). Mishka was never worried about Nikolai being unfaithful, but he neither liked nor trusted Anya.
One of the worst things for Nikolai during all this was that he didn’t even have his buddy Ginger around to talk to about it. Not long after Nikolai and Mishka had gotten together, Ginger had returned to the UK to begin her own journey as a figure skating coach and, as it happened, a wife. She and Nikolai did their best to keep in touch, but with their schedules, time zones, and Ginger’s new husband Liam not liking her to talk to other men, it was a challenge.
Inevitably, Nikolai and Mishka reached the conclusion that as much as they loved and cared for each other, this was not the right time or the right circumstances for them to stay together. They mutually decided to part ways and remain friends, and they promised that if their situations ever changed, they'd look each other up and hopefully try again. They did their best to keep in touch after that, but just like his contact with Ginger, Nikolai's contact with Mishka was semi-regular at best and sporadic at worst. He never forgot what they'd promised each other, though, and neither did Mishka.
Fast-forward a few years, and Nikolai receives a message from Ginger, telling him that she and Liam are divorcing, and she's moving to Japan to continue to train her star student, Sebastian Fujikawa, a Japanese citizen who'd previously been training in the UK while he attended school there. The teenager was ready to go home to Japan, though, and he'd practically begged Ginger to come with him. She told Nikolai she was ready for a change, and that she'd gladly agreed.
Meanwhile, Nikolai was busy with Eden, his own young champion in the making, as well as his other students. Eden and Sebastian were the same age, Nikolai discovered, and soon they'd be competing in the senior division, where they — and their coaches — would undoubtedly meet at international competitions. It was easier for Nikolai and Ginger to keep in touch, now that she didn’t have Liam breathing down her neck, and their contact became less sporadic. Nikolai always looked forward to the chances when they'd encounter each other in person at a competition or training camp. Seeing Ginger again always made him happy.
Fast-forward another handful of years, and Nikolai finds himself in the unlikely scenario of being begged to come to Japan by his own student. Eden had decided to follow his brother Charlie to Japan, where Charlie was going to pursue his career as a professional aesthetitian, hoping to become the proverbial beautician of the stars in the J-pop music industry.
Initially, Eden asked Nikolai to come with him, and Nikolai said no. For one thing, he was terrified to uproot himself from his family, students and familiar surroundings. He was never good with instability, and he didn't think he could cope with that drastic a change in his life. His other reason was that he thought Eden might need to assert his own independence a bit. He didn't want Eden to leave, but knew that it'd be wrong to hold him back.
Eden found a new coach to train with, but the whole thing went terribly wrong after only a few months. Coincidentally, he was skating out of the same rink in a small town in Japan where Ginger was coaching her student, Sebastian. Nikolai heard more of the story from Ginger than he did from Eden at first, as Eden didn't want to upset him with all the horrible details, nor did he want Nikolai to think he was trying to guilt him into coming to Japan.
Finally, Eden did confess the whole truth, and Nikolai was heartbroken to realize that he'd made a huge mistake in not going to Japan with Eden in the first place. He'd all but made up his mind to go, and it really took very little extra persuasion on the part of Ginger and Charlie to fully convince him.
He was overjoyed to be reunited with Eden. Three months had felt like forever to him. He's struggling to adapt to life in Japan, and he'd be lying if he said he wasn't scared, but having Eden, Charlie and Ginger close by helps him. Anya, a professional sports and entertainment photographer, has been there to visit him, while she was travelling in Asia for work. As much as he wants to deny it, he was glad to see her too and try as he might, he can't deny that he's looking forward to her coming back again.
But, other than training with Eden again, the real highlight has been his reunion with Ginger. It's brought him much more joy than he'd expected, and he's really not certain how to explain his feelings about it. He and Ginger spend as much time together as they can, and it didn't take much for them to slip back into their old friendship. They still don't want to say they're dating, and neither one of them really sees their relationship as a romance, but they're nevertheless very happy together. Nikolai can honestly say he loves Ginger, and he sees nothing wrong with that.
It's all good until he receives a long email from Mishka. Now 35 years old, Mishka has decided that too many injuries and stamina that's fading with age have finally made him uncompetitive as a pro hockey player, and it's time to retire. Nikolai could read the excitement in Mishka's written message, and he easily could picture Mishka's sweet face glowing with a smile at the sentence, "I never forgot you. I'm coming to Japan to find you, my love."
Nikolai is excited too, until he thinks about Ginger. And Anya.
He's still figuring out his feelings for Ginger, who is already right there in town, and Anya will be back soon on another business trip. How's he supposed to handle Mishka too, in the midst of that?
He has a problem, and not the sort of problem most people have. Some people have trouble finding one love interest. Nikolai's problem is that he may have far too many...

Man, thinking about Dragonball's capsule tech, makes me wish Toriyama hadn't gone all powerscale-y on everything like he did. Like, even more than I already did.
I can imagine a version of the series where Bulma stays relevant, carrying around entire labs and workshops in her pocket, building weapons and augmentations for the group. Portable gravity rooms and exo-suits. Scouters for characters who can't sense ki. A version of the story where, like One Piece, Toriyama planned out the ending from the very start, and built consistently towards that with Buu, foreshadowing the whole time.
Like, I love Dragonball don't get me wrong, but it introduces some cool ideas and characters and then lets them stagnate. The original fighters from OG Dragonball should've been keeping up with the Saiyans to varying degrees. Bulma is Goku's first friend and now she's relegated to background support for the Saiyans, specifically Goku and Vegeta, most of the time. Gohan's missed potential as end of series protagonist stepping into Goku's shoes is well worn territory for a reason. Not that it's not good for Gohan as an individual that he got to retire from fighting and become a scholar, just that it's bad for the structure of the story as a whole that it gets set up that way, and then despite all the talk of passing the torch to future generations with Gohan, Goten, and Trunks, Goku and Vegeta swoop in at the last minute to steal the show, relatively speaking anyway, it's a long series, "last minute" is literal 10s of episodes.
Bulma and the earthlings, besides Mr. Satan, basically have no effect on the plot whatsoever after a certain point, but they should be getting transformations and new techniques too, always striving to keep up with Goku...until he's gone and then it becomes a way for them to carry on part of his legacy. Tien vs. Semi-Perfect Cell at least should serve as a wake up call and push the gang to catch up with all the Saiyans.
It even seems like he was setting something like that up in the Namek Saga by sending them all to King Kai's, where they too should be learning his techniques and catching up to Goku. Watching things unfold on Namek, maybe they adopt King Kai's techniques, and develop their own complimentary moves. Tien could improve the split-form technique and make it not divide his strength by modifying the Kaio-ken, as a literal off the top of my head idea.
Having them more or less be on Goku's level and STILL getting their shit kicked in by the androids, and having them play a greater role in the ensuing conflict would've made things that much more tense and dramatic. You could still have Tien's badass moment against Cell, a way to really hammer home how much danger they're all in if it's taking someone on par with Goku this much effort just to hold him in place and he's only in his SECOND form. It makes the Vegeta and Trunks leaving the hyperbolic time chamber all that much more a big deal because we're seeing just how much stronger than Super Saiyan the ascended form really is, by having the comparison to the fighters more or less on Goku's level.
Just...I dunno. I've looked for fanfics and fan comics that work to make Dragonball a little more cohesive and consistent, but I haven't really found anything.
Anyway, I digressed a lot here, my initial intent was to just talk about how fucking cool Capsule tech is, both conceptually, and in the ways that it could serve the worldbuilding and aesthetics if we were informed by the narrative of Bulma's loadout and limitations, make it more relevant to planning and fight strategy. Watching a reaction to Super, she pulls out a warehouse with a lab in it in Trunks' future and it got me thinking of how cool it'd be if she'd been able to do that sort of on the fly preparation on Namek y'know? Have someone who relies on tech rather than Ki to fight and get around factor into dealing with Frieza and his forces, outfitting Gohan and Krillin, and eventually Vegeta with armor and tools to help them overcome the power difference between them and Frieza's army, as an idea.

I’m planning to write a sequel to my initial novel, but it’s about the main group’s kids, except that one of them didn’t end up having kids. She becomes the big sister figure of all of her friend’s children, and after the climax of the plot, I plan to have her sacrifice herself to save them.
How could I play that out to make her death hit hard, and maybe not seem lazy, either?
Character Sacrifices Self to Save Friends' Kids
First and foremost, you'll need to develop the relationship between this character and the kids, at least to some degree. Your reader will need to see (or at least understand) your character's role in the lives of these kids, and their role in her life. How they view each other, how important it is to the kids and to the friend, and how important it is to the parents.
Also, sacrifices work best when they're meaningful. They hit harder when there's some recall element to give the reader a punch in the gut. For example, maybe this character never wanted kids, but they do regret not having a bigger personal impact on the future. And maybe the friends say, "Naaah, you volunteer and you donate, and you do things to make the world a better place." And they say, "Naaah, you play such an important role in our kids' lives, you're definitely making an impact." But the friend argues that they wished they could do more, leave a bigger legacy... Then, when they sacrifice themself to save the kids, it's clear to the reader that they've just made that impact... the kids will now live because they died. But you can hit that point home by later having the friends watching their kids play and say something like, "They're our friend's legacy," or something like that. (And I'm not saying you have to do the above specifically, but hopefully that gives you an idea of what I mean when I say it should have meaning.)
I hope that helps!

Hi again, as always, love your analyses. You capture one particular point so well in your breakdowns of the episodes: the BB is crumbling. One of the most the tragic things to come out of this show is the clear division of the squad. They’re supposed to be a family, but they’re struggling.
Do you think it is even possible for the Batch so mend the rift in their family even a little bit?
Hunter, as you’ve pointed out, clings to Omega as a way to make decisions and what not. He’s pretty stagnant as a character. Do you think we’ll see Hunter grow as a leader and actually try and be more empathetic towards his squad?
Short answer: No.
Longer answer: Still no, but not in the way you think.
At the time of writing, I haven't finished watching season 2 yet, so keep that in mind. Still, the way the characters and plot has been set up, it's obvious to me by now that The Bad Batch is a Coming Of Age story. The Batch are a bunch of teenagers graduating Highschool, and the audience wonders whether or not the friend group can stick together despite one of them being a teen dad, one wanting to move in with his girlfriend across states, one of them is already gone to be a political activist with his Grade School buddies, not to mention the grumpy one who unfortunately joined a death cult.
Just as there is no way for Senior Highschoolers to change things back as they were in the imaginary perfect summer break they all recall but has been a fantasy to begin with, the Bad Batch cannot become a squad again for longer than perhaps isolated missions. Even though they want it, it's not what they need. They all develop independet lives for the very first time, and it's holding onto their old life that makes them unhappy.
Maybe, after a period of spending time each on their own and growing as people, they might find that their ideas of life are compatible. But if they will come together again as a group, it won't be as a squad with a command chain. It will be a family, and with new family members also. Complete with child (Omega), spouse (Phee), grumpy grandma (Cid), and an uncle that sometimes visits (Rex).
My preditction is: in the finale of season 2, things need to get catastrophically worse before they can get better again in season 3. Season 3 will build new ties among the Batchers (truely familial ones) as well as new ties to new people. I don't expect the Batch to come together again *as a squad* for more than an epic mission or two. And tbh, we as audience don't want them to become the squad they were before either; it would feel like sending them back to Highschool.
The core of a Coming Of Age story is that things change, often times in ways no one could imagine. So far the story seems to offer only two choices: Can they be a squad again or no? But this is a trick question, because the Batchers aren't the people they used to be, the galaxy isn't what it was, and there is no going back to how things were. They will have to reinvent themselves and their relationships. The writers of the series are clearly aware of that.
So, that's my weather forecast for season 3.
Tried my best to be coherent, I should be working, but instead I am melting from the heatwave here as I type up meta. c'est la vie.
(as always, pls no season 2 spoilers)

In honor of homestuck day I'm coming out as someone who's currently reading homestuck for the first time
And here are my thoughts on this piece of media:
I understand why people can be annoying about homestuck because I'm enjoying it so much that I, too, want to be annoying about homestuck. It goes so many places and so bunch of random things in the world make me think "oh just like homestuck."
I'm a bit over halfway through (about page 4500).
Here's what I think about characters:
John - funny and sincere, love the guy
Rose - she's good there's a lot of good scenes with her, love her grimdark era
Dave - he has funny parts and I like when he gets into his time travel era
Jade - I love jade but it feels like she's barely in it sometimes, and she doesn't get a lot of chances to be a part of the core group? Kinda lame. She just turned into a human furry hybrid, which is fun.
Karkat- love this guy. He really sucks for a long time, it sucks reading his ALL CAPS RANTS until he starts to become more sincere and idk he's just a guy who wants to do the right thing.
Aradia - a jade type. I really like her but i feel like she doesn't get to be a character too often, just a plot device.
Sollux - who is this guy. He's like. Fine. I really didn't like him at first but he got a bit better recently, still... idk.
Equius- same as sollux except he never grew on me. I like it when he's not there.
Terezi- TEREZI I LOVE TEREZI SHES SO GOOD. I love her cool guy relationship with Dave and all her art rules.
Vriska - what can even be said? We love vriska. Loved her sad date with John. Hope to see her again soon.
Gamzee - I so far really like this guy even tho I didn't really want to. He was a scary clown for a second but now he is a chill clown. He's aight. Idk
Kanaya & Nepeta - these guys get the same slot cuz I feel the same about them. I like them both but I forget about them until they're on screen. Hopefully they get the chance to do some more.
Tavros - yeah I like him, I feel bad for this shy ass guy with these intense ass friends. But he also is like barely there.
Eridan - annoying guy! I also like him better when he's not there.
Feferi - look there are so many characters that I know they can't ALL be important but she's another one where like. She seems great but she needs more to do!
I think that's all the trolls... vriska come back.
I just got started with the post scratch characters so I'm still developing opinions about them. So far I like dirk the most. roxy has some funny moments but it is weird that she's a perpetually drunk teen. Jane and Jake havent done too much so they're just ok atm.
Anyway I'm not finished and I have no idea what compelled me to write this, I never talk about Fandom stuff. My opinions are subject to change between now and when I finish, and even after I finish my opinion will continue to change.

So I've been bored/running ideas in my head lately......
I know, that's dangerous coming from me - especially considering how I can start and then go on and on about a topic (see my post on my fanon history for Smokescreen for an idea.) That said, ever since I've started watching RWBY, I've been hooked, though I will be stopping after Volume 4 as I've heard...let's say mixed opinions on the show's writing after the fourth installment's conclusion. Because I've been hooked, I've also noticed that some characters - in particular Mercury Black, my favorite character outside of the main and side characters - were underutilized, in my own personal opinion. That, in addition to my fixation on Transformers, has led me to this crackpot idea:
RWBY x Transformers Partnerships.
What is this, you may ask? It's Blade saying, "What if there was a crossover between these two franchises I love and, more specifically, who would bond with who in a hypothetical crossover?"
I know it's been done before, but I mostly want to just pit characters together for the sake of fun, especially since life has been a bit much lately. So to unwind - and pass around some fun - I'm going to be starting a series of RWBY characters buddied up with Transformers characters.
Of course, that also means I have to set the stage for how this would all work. I'll summarize it as best I can, and leave open enough doors that things won't be too convoluted, or have too little substance to be able to feasibly work.
In a twist on Volume 2, I would have Mercury be used by Cinder to get close and learn about Team RWBY and gather info from them. However, he and Ruby would hit it off, and over time, Mercury would grow to care about her and the team before he'd defect - with the added benefit of having Pyrrha not only survive, but also be pushed on to the path to becoming the Fall Maiden.
Now, shortly after the Fall of Beacon, and before Ruby wakes up, I would have had Watts working with...let's say Team BRIR and Bram Thornmane (yes, I did research on relatively obscure characters connected to a RWBY game) to develop an interdimensional portal. Who knows what it was for, but Salem gave him this job, so he may as well do it, right? Well, turns out, in a Transformers: Prime-styled universe, the Autobots and Miko (see here for details that will be carried over to my mad little crossover) are in a battle with the Decepticons when - an ancient Cybertronian artifact, I suppose - activates at the same time Watts' machine does. The two groups are sucked through the wormhole, and are practically scattered across the world of Remnant, but because the CCT is down, hardly anyone realizes that Something is amiss.
And so the story begins!
Now, I'm sure I'll be asked about this, so I'll say it right now: the ship QuickSilver (Mercury x Ruby) will be a subtle part of this series, as well as Combat Goggles and BlackSun. I'm not the biggest fan of RoseGarden (having Oscar sharing living space with Ozpin gives me a major case of squick), and if I'm being honest, I love the idea of Ruby's purity pulling Mercury out of the darkness his father drowned him in. I also adopted love Mercury as a character, and his potential just screams at me to be recognized. Combat Goggles is another I love for how they interact in that one episode in Volume 2, and I can see Neptune with Yang more easily than with Weiss (plus I can't find that much content for them, so I gotta do it myself.) And BlackSun, while it isn't my favorite, I do love a good ship of Brooding Girl and Sunshine Boy in stories, so it's staying. And as a Hummingbird shipper/Qrow is Ruby's dad theorizer, I will be making references to that as well.
If this turns anyone off, I apologize. This is done primarily to satisfy my own wants, and to just goof around and find my favorite 'Bots friends from Remnant. If you are interested, though, welcome to RWBY x Transformers Partnerships! Let's have fun together!
See you around, folks!

The difference between Felix's AM and non-AM endings really drives home the fact that Felix isn't meant to be the "lone wolf swordsman" archetype typical in FE. When he leans into the archetype after being recruited from the Blue Lions his endings are very lonely and miserable or at best kinda bittersweet. But on AM he's happy and satisfied and grows. Coupled with the fact that the Fraldarius Hero Relix is a shield instead of a weapon, it really drives home that Felix is meant to be a defender.
Felix is very interesting when discussing how he relates to past FE archetypes.
I think, outside of AM, what you actually get is a "lone-swordsman" origin story. And inside it, he subverts the trope.
In White Clouds, Felix is, like most people that age, still figuring things out (with a hefty dose of trauma and poor emotional intelligence piled on top). At this point, he's someone who honestly enjoys time by himself and fighting and is a bit tsundere. He's still fighting and training to protect his friends and regardless of the route worries incessantly about Dimitri.
Then the time skip happens. In SS/VW/CF Felix develops into the lone-swordsman. He's now just about fighting, not protecting, because there's no one left to protect after Dimitri's dead (and likely Rodrigue). Sylvain and Ingrid can't really factor into his growth outside of AM because the game has no idea if you recruited them or not or if you're a bad player and they died or not. Felix isn't good with complex emotions, so he deals with Dimitri's death poorly and becomes a sad, bloodthirsty swordsman, doubling down on the only thing he knows he's good at - fighting. Because how can he claim he's protecting his friends anymore? They all could be dead. Hell, if it's CF, he could've killed every one of them himself - really forcing him to double down on a new belief, but with nothing left to believe in but his ability with a weapon.
Most lone swordsmen in FE are actually pretty angsty. A rare one, like Navarre, seem well adjusted. But Navarre wasn't really alone. He's part of a mercenary group - he's just likes his alone time. The truly alone ones like Rutger or Karel are miserable or kinda evil, respectively. That's why I think CF/SS/VW Felix is showing how someone becomes Rutger or Karel. In AM, he doesn't, though. He's given the chance to grow into someone healthier.
In AM, obviously, Dimitri's death never happens. Felix is noticeably more mature in the time skip compared to WC and CF/SS/VW. He's no longer just concerned with his sword, but shows outward concern for others - namely the people of his territory. He also speaks out against Dimitri's behavior, but is mature enough to make amends once Dimitri's honestly trying to do better. His ending cards show him having something to live for outside of a sword, and that's because in AM, he found something worth protecting, whereas outside of it, he lost what he wanted to protect - Dimitri (since Ingrid and Sylvain cannot possible get factored in due to the confines of the game).
So, yeah, Felix is very interesting to me in how he's both a carbon copy of a classic Fire Emblem trope, but also subverts it and ends up growing in a way you didn't expect. It's also why I love him so much. He gets different development depending on the route, something I wish happened with all the characters.
