— The amount of time I heard people telling me that Leo Rising is a ray of sunshine when in reality they can be, however not at first 100%. The way they come off are extremely practical, even a little bit distant at first. They have this powerful yet quiet aura to them. What I would say tho is that they enjoy the company of people who feels like sunshine, its just something about goodness in people that gets to Leo Rising. They adore a sweetheart always.

— I would even go as far to say that all Fire Rising initially have a hint of distance. Aries Rising can appear intimidating, truly living up to their stereotype with their nonchalant demeanor. But beneath that exterior, they possess genuinely kind hearts, though sometimes their delivery might be a bit raw. Leo Rising commands respect with their mere presence. Sagittarius Rising aligns closely with their stereotype, but remember the Water 12th houses of the Fire Risings:.

Pisces 12th house - Aries Rising: Hiding their unselfishness and uncondinational side to protect themselves.

— Libra Moon is an extremely interesting placement for me to see. People usually think they're pushovers typically but like.. lets be for real. Mediators at core though, always see different sides but doesn't mean they can be one of the most stubborn people ever :)

They can 100% be very devoted in relationship but the thing is, a lot of Scorpio Venus are never ever gonna give themselves to you if they sense that you're not committed to them or even the little hint that you're not in it for real. Remember, this is a Scorpio placement we're talking about. Their pickiness can even outshine Virgo Venus on a good day. The type to genuinely stalk your socials and disappear at the blurriest red flag. For them to take you seriously, you have got to be all about them in every single way, they don't want that fleeting romance, when they're in, they're in. Playing games might be fun at first for them but they're are not going to be around to entertain anything as such for long.

— Sun conjuncts Venus gets along so well with women. A lot of their friends are usually women and it seems that they just know how to put people at ease. There's an energy of almost androgyny about them in the sense that they have a great balance of energies. Can easily befriend anyone.

— Libra Mars forgives often but usually its very logical. One of the best boundary setter I've ever seen. They are sweethearts don't get me wrong but they can easily put you in your place while still being the sweetest angel ever.

— Sagittarius Sun are extremely ambitious people. They're very very driven. While they enjoy letting loose, they're equally devoted to their work and aspirations. From my experience, they're the kind who would invest months into a project, only to celebrate grandly once it's accomplished. They truly embody the 'work hard, play hard' spirit.

— There's a stereotype that pegs Aquarius Mercury as detached and overly rational, almost robotic in their communication. But as you dive deeper, you realize this couldn't be farther from the truth. While they do possess an innate ability to see the bigger picture and communicate ideas ahead of their time, there's a depth and warmth to them that often goes unnoticed. These are some of the smoothest talkers. Contrary to the belief that they're disinterested in personal stories, many Aquarius Mercury individuals are deeply curious about individual journeys and narratives. I also noticed that since they can be so nice to talk to, people just casually open up to them about literally anything.

— I saw squares aspects synastry plays out in real life and often times its honestly super funny. Its like 2 people that speak 2 different languages trying to get the same thing but don't want to admit it out of pride LOL. I'm not a big fan when there's too much squares within personal placements but to be fair, they promote hella growth. After these kind of relationships, everyone just kinda become either more stubborn with their values or extremely open-minded LOL

— While Taurus Moon is very emotionally reliant, in the sense that they're their own safe haven and therapy guide a lot of the times. These people also may be prone to denial. They take time to come to terms with a lot of events that happened and kind of just buried it sometimes until they fully accept it. Unhealthy coping mechanisms as well but with time, they find their own peace in the truth.

— Earth Risings, lets talk. They got to be one of the funniest people alive. Their sense of humour always hits and they're the living proof for don't judge a book by its cover. Everytime I'm with them I always hurt my stomach by laughing too much PLS. However, when time calls for it, they can sit down and get all corporate on you trust😉

Axl invited you to his house party, which was a little odd, but not super unusual. you were one of Steven's closest friends, you'd been supporting him since the beginning. everyone in the band knew you steven wouldn't shut up about you , or at the very least was familiar with your name.

so... it made sense. though, you were starting to regret your decision as you watched duff and slash take what had to be their 10th round of shots. you eyed everyone at the party as you sipped your drink. there were girls you'd seen backstage before, either girlfriends or groupies, and plenty of people you'd never met before. izzy was absolutely nowhere to be found, he probably left actually, and you condemned yourself for not doing the same.

you made your way over to steven, a little beacon of light in the dim party. the only saving grace to this party. his curls bouncing as he chatted away animatedly to a guest.

axl stepped in front of you, blocking your path slightly, "You liking the party?" he asked, grinning at you.

you shrugged, "It's kind of loud... a little overwhelming." you admitted a little shyly.

he leaned against the wall, brushing some of your hair back, "well... if you want, i could take you somewhere quieter." his tone told you everything you needed to know.

"I think-..."

you were interrupted by steven's slurred voice, "absolutely fucking not....?!" he shot axl a betrayed look and pushed him back a bit.

jesus... it all happened so fast, they both were already pretty buzzed. steven took a swing and hit the wall, and axl caught him in a headlock. it was like watching two toddlers fighting over something they both wanted.

"alright, alright. Knock it off." IZZY! (huh, so he hadn't left...? it all made sense once you saw the girl hanging on his arm) Thank god. he seemed to knock some sense into the two, who hesitantly stopped fighting.

axl stormed off to god knows where, leaving steven with a furrowed brow.

"Are you alright, Stevie?" you cooed, gently, "Your hand's bleeding...if you hadn't noticed..."

he looked down at his hand, it was scraped up pretty good, red and tender as blood dribbled onto his fingers and wrist, "oh..." he said quietly, "i'll be ok..."

"here... let's go see if there's a first aid kit around here." you led him to the bathroom, which was surprisingly unoccupied, and sat him down on the edge of the bathtub.

you rummaged around the cabinets for a bit, before pulling out a small first aid kit. you looked around for a rubbing alcohol wipe.

"I don't like the way he looked at you." he murmured under his breath, "he was bein' all weird with you."

"Doesn't mean you should try to punch him for it." you countered as you ripped open the wipe.

"he just wants to fuck around. he doesn't even love you." Steven babbled, hissing a bit as you cleaned his knuckles.

"sorry." you whispered sincerely, grabbing the bandage wrappings.

"But I do. I love you a lot." he sighed, a bit sadly, "A little too much maybe..."

you paused, caught completely off guard, "You...You what...?"

"Oops... I uh..." he couldn't really find an excuse, even if he hadn't been drunk, you can't really come back from that.

you couldn't help but feel a little giddy and laugh. his face turned a deep shade of red, and he was worried for a second until you started to pepper his face in kisses. you smoothed his hair out and kissed him on the lips, cupping his cheeks.

you pulled away after a moment, earning a pout from him, "Hey...."

"You're getting blood on your sleeves... just let me finish patching you up..." you grumbled, a light pink dusting your face. he honestly didn't mind the blood. he was the happiest person at the party, scratch that, in the whole goddamn world. but he let you dress his knuckles, just so you were satisfied.

"so does this mean-...?" he started.

"yeah... I love you too." you smiled, giving him another peck, right on the tip of his nose.

A/n: I wrote this at 4am when I couldn't sleep and was in my feelings.

"Darling, what seems to be troubling you?" Lucifer sighs, easing himself down on the bed by your feet. He caresses your calf, running his thumb along the muscle. The movement was intentional enough that you could feel it through the weight of your duvet, but gentle enough that it felt like a mere tickle.

"I'm fine." The lie slipped through your teeth easily. Anyone else would have left you too your swarm of negative thoughts and emotions, passing off the dismissive lie as you just being fatigued or in need of some alone time...but Lucifer knew you better than anyone else. What's more, he's someone you found difficult to lie to.

Lucifer sighed, squeezing your calf through the blanket. "Come now, Mc. You needn't hide things from me."

You bite your lip, trying to hold back the tears that threaten to spill past your eyelids. What could you even say? You couldn't exactly pinpoint the thing that had put you in a dour mood. The whole day seemed to weigh on you like an anvil, each mild inconvenience or small stress seeming to cause the weight to grow heavier and heavier until you could no longer carry it. Lucifer was a logical man- a man of reason. If you were to tell him that you didn't know what had you so down, you could just imagine the annoyed response he'd give. Sure, he loved you. You knew that. But he only had so much time, energy, and patience to give. If you didn't have anything to offer as a reason for your suffering, then you weren't worthy of the effort it took to console you.

"...Mc." Lucifer repeated your name, but the normal stern tone his voice would take when his brothers didn't respond to their name being called wasn't there. It was soft, laced only with concern and a desire to sooth.

"I...I dont know..." You glance to him uneasily as the tears slipped past your eyes. You close them, not wanting to look him in the eyes as you began to cry, feeling shameful for not having the words to explain your emotions, and for burdening the busy demon with your problems.

In an instant, Lucifer gathered you in his arms. He situated you in his lap so that he could cradle you close to his chest, letting your tears freely stain his freshly pressed suit. His thumb circled the center of your back, tracing the bumpy parts of your spine that stoof out slightly from the rest of your skin.

Your breaths caught in your throat as you tried to stop yourself from sobbing, but it only made the tears fall harder. You cursed yourself, not liking that you looked so pitiful in front of the Avatar of Pride. He surely must think you're a fool.

Squeezing your eyes shut tighter, you clung to him, scolding yourself for being such a mess. Your thoughts were mean- some down right abusive- as you chastised your inability to save face, and questioning your worth to the man who always sacrificed so much for you- and for what? So you can have a breakdown in his arms; blubbering incoherently because you can't place why you're just so fucking sad.

"I'm...I'm sorry..." your voice cracks as you mutter out the words into his chest. "I'm sorry..."

"It's alright, there's no reason to apologize." He cooed, barely resting his chin atop your head. "We needn't discuss what's causing your heartache right this instant. Take all the time you need."

He contunued rubbing circles into your back, rocking you ever-so gently side-to-side. Its during times like this that he wonders how you would feel if you could read his thoughts. Clearly, your lowly opion of yourself was projected onto him, while he saw you as his entire world. If you were hurting, then he was too. If he could, he would bring all three realms to their knees in order to protect you, and he wanted so desperately for you to believe that. He knew that after going so much of your life feeling nothing but animosity toward yourself would result in this knowledge taking a significant amount of time to seep in...but the desperation he felt in needing you to see what he saw when he looked at you was immense. Just once, he wished he could show you how much you meant to him- and to his family, as well. And he internally cursed the individual or individuals who made you believe you were worthless.

He took a shallow breath, humming contently as he gripped you tighter. For now, he needed to push that aside. What mattered now was that you needed him, no matter the reason. And when you needed him, he was there.

Always.

actually i think what's disingenuous is framing bodily alterations that trans women seek for aesthetic or safety reasons as un-feminist, harmful to real women, and the result of patriarchal brainwashing that they must simply be unaware of and need you, a tumblr blogger, to condescend to them about, and to do all this in a political context in which access to gender-affirming care is already restricted and being constantly encroached on by reactionaries who are happy to use and ally themselves with the exact rhetoric you're spouting in order to position trans bodies as gross and artificial and trans health care as antithetical to cis women's liberation, and then to turn around and act like you are just defending trans women, actually, and there's no possible way any of what you just said could possibly be harmful to them or reatrict their access to medical care or bodily alterations, just because you didn't explicitly say the words "i think laser electrolysis should be outlawed".

A little post about Aoi's values.

So that we can appreciate how deeply ideological her corruption arc is.

Previously, I talked a bit about how Plutomon's extremism ties with the game's conflict around individualism and collectivism. What makes this corruption great is that it's stemming from the values Aoi has always held; as much as they enable her to be someone who can be very generous and kind, they also serve as justification for her most intransigent and oppressive postures. This is because what she values can be summed up as follows:

Social propiety: From talking to your superiors and elders with the due respect, knowing your place in the hierarchy, and general politeness and good behavior, you can see her correcting others based on this multiple times. Which is part of the reason the group is so hierarchical earlier on, as she enforces this a lot.

Social conformity: This is mostly apparent due the way she tries her best to fulfill the external expectations placed on her, be it academically, socially or on her own behavior despite the misgivings she might hold (which are a lot, given Labramon's rather bad-tempered and opionated behavior. However, no matter how much it might aggravate her, she sticks to upholding proper behavior as a way to preserve group harmony).

Duty to one's community: Another thing that deeply drives her is wanting to be a valuable member to her community, that responsibility she has an individual to contribute to society. You can see this in the way her Cerberumon's cut scene is phrased, as one of the main catalysts for it is the sense of responsibility she feels over everyone as one of the oldest kids. She doesn't want to protect just the people close to her but make sure she can proactively get the group back home.

Cooperation: This is actually one of the things she names out loud, and people constantly foregoing it and leading to more workload/stress for her is actually one of her main resentments. Her Plutomon mad rantings about being always the one saddled with the most work evidence she values everyone doing their part. This type of reasoning can be a double-edged sword as it can be used to be deeply cruel to mentally ill/ disabled ppl, + other kinds of minorities irl. To her credit, she usually has the good grace not to directly impose this on others, but her violent Wrathful behavior coupled with her belief everyone should be like her (and fulfill societal expectations as diligently) to reach her "perfect world" show she can think like this.

Fairness/Justice: She cares about everyone getting their due and the general betterment of conditions for everyone, which is the aspect to her values that can finally factor compassion in. But it's telling it's the one value about which the answer to her arc hinges on—it distinguishes between Rightness and Fairness for good reason, as social conformity and not being disruptive/acting right don't necessarily have to center treating others fairly (think of the contrast between the rethoric used for Anubimon in contrast for Plutomon...)

Most of her values evidence her commitment to not causing disruption to a group and ensuring its proper functioning. Because she values politeness, it can mean she prefers negotiation over direct confrontation, but this isn't always a good thing, which the game is rather in your face about with how ineffective the group is at handling Shuuji following her and Takuma's conciliatory approach. Her talk about reaching mutual understanding can either fall into the aspect of social propriety or justice, so it can muddle the group's capacity to resolve conflict.

However, not only prioritizing Harmony above all else can lead to problems going by unresolved and festering, it can also be used as justification to enforce rather unyielding and strict social norms (as we very clearly see Plutomon as she enforces a strict hierarchy in her debut). Ultimately, she needs the others to guide and support her to be fair just as much as she does for them.

I came up with (most of) these just now so I'm not sure if they're my favorites but I do love them

Bobby:

Since we know he did figure skating competitions growing up, I think to this day he loves watching them with Athena and definitely has a lot of Opions™️ (especially on the judges and their scores).

Chimney:

He LOVES Star Wars movies and Empire Strikes Back is his favorite. (Finding out your dad is the villain your afraid of becoming? Yeah he relates) He also is a comic book collector and he loves reading Star Wars EU books (both Legenda and current EU).

Hen:

She makes fun of reality shows all the times but she secretly loves them (people can be SO stupid sometimes and she eats it up). The main reasons she loves it is making fun of everyone making the WORST decisions and saying the WORST things. But watching them with Karen is the best part and is the only way to get her to watch them.

Buck:

Growing up he loved reading. It was hard for him to concentrate sometimes so he especially loved it when Maddie would read to him. When she left and he told his local liberian about how sometimes it was hard to focus on reading (usually if it wasn't the topic he was currently into or a fictional story) she gave him an old cassette player and introduced him to the world of audiobooks. Nowa days he still physically reads but when he can’t focus he LOVES listening to an audiobook while doing other things too like working out or cooking or drawing. (lol I did not mean for that to be so long 😂)

Eddie:

Well I absolutely love the headcanons that he's close with his sisters and they made him watch things like the HSM movies (that he secretly loved but didn't admitted to anyone besides his sisters) and (a recent hc) they forced him into playing Barbies and watching Barbie movies (Princess And The Pauper was his favorite). I also love the hc that since we know he's into baseball that he used to play baseball in high school. But I wanna take it a step further and say that he played it since little league. Also his favorite team is the Texas Rangers (he still faithfully follows them). We know he's a self pro-claimed dancer, but I hc that Abuela taught him at a young age and when his sisters would be in dance and needed to practice he'd help them (while also secretly wishing he could take dance too but was always to afraid to ask). Also I just really love the idea that he secretly loves romance novels (lol I just have a lot of Eddie hc's that I just love)

Athena:

Watching cooking shows was a always a stress reliever for her and since she married Bobby it's become their Thing™️ where they would watch them and ALWAYS make comments if it was the right dish to make with those ingredients and make bets on who's dish would win.

Maddie:

Growing up she loved romcoms and teen movies and would watch them with Buck (who also loved them) and she loved reading books (they'd be her escape. Nowadays she absolutely loves reading romance novels and making fun of some of them with Chimney. She also likes it when at night (after Jee is in bed) sometimes she would read her current read and he'd read his current comic/graphic novel or Star Wars EU book and they'd talk about what they're reading.

“Felines and Friends”- Thoughts, ramblings and observations on the International Tour (05.06.2022, 14:00)

Went to Munich party people and I have so much to say:

First of all: As always this is subjective, REALLY subjective. This text is a mixture of observations and opinions filtered through my brain and memory.

Second, I’ve seen Vienna 20+ times, so I will compare, not so much what is better or worse, more what is different.

This will be long so I’m using headlines so you can skipt what you’re not interested in.

This was the cast I had thou I’m not sure that Cass was really played by Erin. I think she was played by a swing. In Vienna I know the cast so I know when there are mistakes on the cast sheet, here I’m not sure really.

Stage

The stage was a lot smaller than in Vienna. Now Vienna seems kind of größenwahnsinnig. The bra, the pipe, everything was smaller. Less lights. The stage in Vienna has like two floors, this one had one. They changed it in Vienna due to Covid and the actors not being able to go into the audience. In Munich they go into the audience so they do not need that huge of a stage. Also this stage has to be moved from city to city while Vienna Stage stays at one place.

Orchestra

The orchestra was nine people and sounded more like a band tbh. This gave cool vibes to some of the songs, especially to Rum Tum Tugger but with big numbers like Memory or the finale of the Jellicle Ball I do prefer the full orchestra in Vienna.

Language

It was the first time for me seeing it in English live. My first language is German and I propably have like a B2 niveau in English. I understand most but not all and I miss some nuances and jokes. I personally think that the Vienna translation is pretty neat but I think that a lot of the numbers sound better in English. After all it was an English text that ALW add a soundtrack to. Especially Memory and the Jellicle Song for Jellicle Cats sounded better in English to me.

Some of the actors sounded like they had a British accent, I think some even had a nothern England or Scottish accent (I’m not an expert on the English language so don’t sue me), which gave some characters different vibes than in Vienna. Most actors in Vienna use Bühnendeutsch (a standard German for stages) either Austrian or German Bühnendeutsch, some of them have a slight accent cause German isn’t their frist language. In Munich I noticed Jenny’s and Mungo’s accent most. Jenny sounded very “nothern” which I loved. All in all it seemed more British which makes absolute sense because I think most of the actors are from the UK.

Also, I didn’t look at the German subtitles they had because a, I know most of the lyrics and b, the two times I looked at them, they were kind of off.

To go or to not go into the audience

I sat in the middle of the audience so I had no interaction with the cats. I have to admit I do prefer Vienna where they just stay on stage for most of the audience parts, apart from Tugger. Tugger going into the audience was absolutly worth it. Also during the “Naming of the Cats” it was kind of cool, that the voices came from everywhere around you and not just from the front.

Characters and songs

I will structre the rest of the text by characters. Please note that I focused a lot on some characters (because they were quite different from Vienna) and missed some characters (want to go again but no time). And some really stuck out to me. In Vienna I really love the “underdogs” but here I focused a lot on Tugger and Misto haha. I will discuss the songs, costume and makeup under the individual cats. A lot of subjective thoughts and opions coming in.

Grizabella: Honestly, can’t say much about her because I’m a visual type and my musical hearing has left the chat at my early childhood (blame my father and his horrible singing for that). Her voice was very powerful and her movements were amazing. She seemed like she was suffering. What I found kind of weird was her accention to the heavyside layer. She had some cords atteched to her and she just flew away. Huiiii. She did a reverse Misto haha.

Old Deut: God, I loved him with all my heart tbh. He is quite small and an absolute amazing actor. With him and Gus you could really tell that Britain has a different acting tradition and a different acting style than the German speaking coutries. Vienna Deut is much colder and more distant. This Old Deut is a cuddly, fun grandpa who loves his tribe and has a lot of humor and warmth to him. Because he is small and Misto is tall Misto just hugged him at the end and didn’t jump him.

Gus/Bustopher Jones: Honestly, I never cared much for Gus until I saw this Gus, holy shit. That man is so fucking talented. He was the biggest surprise for me and I enjoyed every single moment of Gus the theatre Cat and the Pekes. I was so sceptical about the Pekes being moved to second Act and sung by him but it fit better than the pirate number to be honest.

First Bustopher: He has curled hairs/ears(?) and is a gentlecat. When he sang about cabbage all the other cats nearly vomitted which was so funny (like you know how cats vomit their hair up haha). When he left and the Macavity scare happend he made a funny noise like, okay, I’m out of here and the audience started laughing.

Second Theatre Cat: Like holy shit this was everything. At the beginning of the song he seemed sad and tired, kind of weak, but when Jelly sang about his past you could see how his energy and passion slowly returned to him to the point that he took over from her. He sung it less to the audience and more to the other cats, told them his stories and Cass’s and Billy’s reactions to the cats these days part where so fun. They didn’t seem offended like in Vienna more like ashamed but shrug it off then (it is what it is).

He also made this long noise at one point of the song (something with a ghost) and it didn’t stop which entertained the audience and they gave him a big applause. Also the reactions of the other cats to that was gold.

When the Gus song ended, he sang something like he wish he could do it again (play Rumpus Cat) and Old Deut edged him on and sang “You can do it again” or something like that and Jelly looked at him like “don’t you dare encouriging him” but it was already to late and Gus was back in his old role.

Bill and Rumple (who played lead pollicle and peke) got shooed away at the beginning because they were too early which was also so fun. My brain can’t remember every detail, just that the whole number was absolutly amazing, from the Cat’s reaction to Munk’s interaction and acting and especially Gus. Also some parts were cut (not scottish dogs haha)

Before he came out in his Rumpus Cat coat (no red eyes here) he hid behind Old Deut and jumped out behind him which was so fun because it made Old Deut complicit to his shenanigans. At the end of the song Jelly brought him his other coat back and Tugger took the Rumpus Cat coat.

Munkustrap: More like Vampustrap. He looked absolutly amazing and his wig and make up worked so fucking well, holy shit I would also say he is darker than Vienna Munk. His voice is amazing, very clear. Didn’t focus much on him during Gumbie Cat tbh because too much was going on but during Pekes he was A+. Jelly made him join to show because she seemed concered about Gus and he stepped in as the Police Dog/kind of played the Police Dog I would say. He had some lines and during the fire brigade part every cat joined in which suprised my but sounded really really good. Also they sang “mystic chinese” not “heathen”.

He had less interaction with Deme then Vienna but they had their shy look at the beginning of the second act. I also enjoyed him during the fight, he was more hurt and daramtic than Vienna Munk, the fight all in all seemed more brutal, and the light scene with Deme was so cute.

Rum Tum Tugger: Holy fucking shit that man. It is so fucking hard for me to put into words how I felt about him. My language is not sufficent for this man. That may sound weird as fuck but he gave be drag queen vibes (not big US TV station drag queen vibes more like local drag lunch drag queen vibes). He absolutly made this character his own and didn’t care about any Tuggers before him. He seemed a little bit like a persiflage of the character but in a very good and positive way. He was so expressive, amazing at the audience interactions and gave the character his own twist.

This Tugger is less of a Casanova (unlike Vienna Tugger) and more of a comic relief character. He falls in the category shoulder Tugger and not in the category hip Tugger.

He was so amazing during the Mistoffelees number I can’t put in into words, really. During the first verse when he gave his imaginary cards to one of the cats (couldn’t see which one but think it was Cori or Tanto) and the cat picked one he said “good choice” between the lines and before Misto brought Old Deut back he said “Oh you gonna like that” then pointed at one person in first row and said “especiall you”. And I think the winked.

At the end he didn’t say “Ladies and Gentlemen” but “Felines and Friends” and I fucking loved this line and its delivery so much. I don’t know who changed that, if it was him or the director or Nunn I don’t care. This line is everything to me. The genderbinary in the world of the Jellicles is dead, we only know people dressed as cats and the people who watch the people dressed as cats.

Maybe I’m too exited about that but I loved it to hell and back.

Speaking about hell. Haha.

Quaxo: THAT BITCH (affectionate). I fucking loved the new Quaxo costume (sue me) and how the actor portrayed the character. And I will discuss why and that reason is very subjective. Tux Quaxo (especially in Vienna) was a very expensive cat who was bought by a rich family because of his pattern. Patchwork Quaxo is what my mom would call a “Bauernhofkatze”, just some random cat, that was born before his mother could get sterelized and who was adopted by some chaotic queers in the city who watched too many cat videos on the internet. Tux Quaxo is well behaved and cute, Patchwork Quaxo is neat, but also kind of feral. He was so amazing during the Jellicle Ball like holy shit (I will not elaborate lol). He also had a lot of smaller great interactions with the other cats, greated Gus and Skimble at the beginning, hugged Vicky during the first Macavity scare (must protecc), wanted Alonzo’s attention during Skimble, also some cute interaction with Deme and was all in all all over the place. Joined the Gumbie Cat trio during the tap dance. He seemed also older and more confident than Vienna Misto and I absolutly prefer this interpretation of the character (attention this is subjective).

To the make up: I have to admit: The eyes made him look cat like, if it weren’t for them he would have looked more liky a bunny (sorry, really).

The actor is also very tall and lean (?) which I’m not used to because Vienna Mistos are small and/or the same size as the others. This Quaxo in his cat form is what cat owners would call a long boii. At the beginning, when he stands in front of the others while Munk explains the ball it looked so funny, because Vicky behind him is very smoll and from where I was sitting (fifth row) she was hardly seeable. He stuck out a lot because of is hight and his black costume.

Now to the Mistoffelees design/number: This cat is a demon cat in a GOOD WAY. When he “fell down from heaven” his jacket isn’t white but blue and violet (first thought in my brain was bicon, lol, sorry not sorry). I love the wig. It is very cat like and the videos on the internet don’t do it justice. I hope you all get to see a professional photo one day (the brochure has pictures of the last tour not of the current actors). The dancing was amazing and he made quite different facial expressions that fitted his character and his performance. Conjouring turns were on point (as far as I can tell) maybe a bit to short (not sure about that cause I have no plan about music). When he brought Old Deut back he looked so proud and selfassured with a big smile on his face. Loved that for him.

I also know that Tugger and Misto a the most popular characters. The ship didn’t sail here in my opinion, not at all, cause they were both too bussy with themselves lol. Also I’m pretty sure that some fans won’t like them, when they see them because in my opinion they are quite different from their usualy portrayal.

Skimbleshanks: He was the strict uncle type of Skimble here. Amazing dancer. Luckely the wig didn’t look as boxy as on the pictures. At the beginning when Rumple and Mungo were misbehaving he told them off. He danced during one of the big boy parts during the ball (can’t remember if it was the Munk one or the Tugger one) which surprised me. Loved his acting and dancing during his own number. Also at the end of Skimble he first steps on Mungo, than on Munk and Tugger is holding his hand/securing him (all in all Tugger was more active during skimble unlike Vienna). The train is smoll. Needs to go into the airplane/train.

Rump & Mungo: Only love and respect for the Schlimms. They both had incredible energy, the make up was really very readable (to my surprise to be honest), and Mungo’s ears were slightly curled inwards wich kind of looked like horns (hehe). With Electra missing Rump played some of her parts. She is the main fangirl screaming and she corrups Bill to misbehave during Skimble haha. She also had some small interactions with RTT in the background. Mungojerrie protected her during the first Macavity appearence (I cried, not literally thou). During their number he also gave us some hip movements, which was very Tugger of him.

Jenny: Loved her quite a lot but unfortunatly didn’t focus much on her. Very energetic and absolute amazing tap dancing. Loved her voice and accent. I have one critique for the Gumbie Number thou: During the tap dance part the drums were too prominent and it kind of pfuscht into the tapdancing. It was like they were competing for who creates the rythm and it was distracting.

Also, she lied with Alonzo during the cuddle pile, as far as I could tell (couldn’t see much of it haha).

Jelly: Her make up was the least readable to me. When I looked at a cat and didn’t know who it was, it was her. It def. needs more contrast. She was very concerned but also done with Gus. She asked Munk to step in during Pekes and when Gus went into the audience she went after him to look after him or to scold him. She seemed like a concerned daughter.

Bombalurina: Sorry, really hardly looked at her, don’t know why. Want to go again :(

Demeter: The lightning was quite different from Vienna. Always when she said Macavity it was very clearly on her. She seemed more stressed than Vienna Demeter, even too stressed for love. Only when Macavity was defeated she gave some attention to Munk. She shortly cuddled with Alonzo thou during Gus’ number. She had some really amazing interactions with the audience when she went down. Also loved that she frees herself from Macavity and not Munkustrap or Bomba.

Victoria: AAAAHHHH. Loved her so much. She is an amazing dancer and her facial expressions during her solo were so great. Also loved her fangirling, her interaction with Misto (here I would say little sister or bff), pas de deux where she makes a triangle with her legs was extremly clean and well done. Looked so amazing. She also had great reactions to the others and what was happening around her. Jem is also a BFF of hers I would say. Loved the wig and costume. Even thou it’s not competely white she still stands out and is very noticable.

Jemima: Sadly another case of didn’t look much at her. Her voice was amazing thou. Loved every second she sang.

Cassandra: Loved the wig honestly. Great design. Skimble protected her at the first Macavity appearence. She is the one fainting during Tugger.

Tanto and Cori: They were so great. They really stuck out to me especially Cori. He had such great reactions to the others and interacted with Bustopher Jones quite a lot during his number. After Jemima sung they looked quite confused and nuzzeled each other. For the first time I understood why people hc them more close in age to the younger ones than to the adults. While I personally do prefer mature Tanto and Cori I loved seeing them as Schlimms too. They played some more parts with them: For example in Vienna only Bill and Bucky lie infront and get woken up by Jenny during Gumbie cat. Here Tanto and Cori were with them and Cori was one of the kittens hugging old Deut while Tanto is a Tugger fangirl (her and Rumple “covered” for what Electra does in Vienna).

Carbucketty: Another case of hardly looked at him. Only noticed that he was more distant to Quaxo during the ball compared to Vienna.

Admetus/Macavity: Another case of hardly looked at him. Didn’t like the Macavity beard at all. Vienna Mac design best, I will die on this hill.

Bill Bailey: Happy to see Aaron again. He was great as always. Very energetic and expressive, great design and make up, together with Tanto and Cori one of the most well readable in my opinion. He was part of big boys II (Tugger center) during the ball which surprised me, very nice trapez boy at the beginning (thou I’m still crying over Electra missing), during Misto he played with the smoke, great reactions to and interactions with Gus.

Alonzo: Didn’t like the make up, sorry, looked really unhealthy to me. During the Macavity scare he runs away very fast, even Tanto and Cori stay longer on Munkustrap’s side, kind of tried to convince him to stay. This was different from Vienna. Also the leg up part with Cass. In Vienna he follows her off stage here he flopped on the floor and stared at Bomba lol.

End Notes

All in all loved most things about it. From stage, orchestra, bruchure and theatre it had a cheaper vibe than Vienna (time to note AGAIN that Vienna is sponsered by a lot of big sponsors (like ÖBB and Wiener Städtischer insurance group) and also funded by the city of Vienna cause it is good for tourism).

The cast was really amazing, especially vocally absolutly stunning. They sounded all so good. Also amazing dancers, very cat like.

On my way back from Munich I had a lot of time to reflect (there were really horrible storms and it took forever to get home, in the morning I traveled on one train, the way home took three) on my experience as new fan and as someone who was able to see two productions back to back.

First of all: The interpretations of the actors determine which characters you love A LOT. Like really. I’m pretty sure, if I’d see the internationals tour 20+ times I would have different faves. In Vienna I absolutly adore Cass, Alonzo, Admetus, Deme, Tanto and Jelly, here I really adored Cori, Tanto, Vicky, Misto and Tugger, als well as Old Deut and Gus. Also, just for fun, I would like to take patchwork Quaxo and but him into the Vienna Junkyard ... like just for fun (no I won’t elaborate again).

Second of all: I’m baised as fuck. When somebody plays the character more to my liking I automatically enjoy it more and think it is better even thou there are no objective criteria. This was here especially with Tugger and Misto. They were so different from Vienna, neither better nor worse, but I just enjoyed them here so much more. And I do not know why (with Old Deut and Gus I know haha). I think I also liked them a lot cause to me they seemed fresh and new while the others were more like I was used to the characters.

Third: I really thought long and hard about writing following because, again, subjective, but Vienna is a little less PG and I prefer it that way. Maybe my opinion/observation would change if I’d see the international tour as often as the Vienna Revival but as of now that was my impression. With the international tour the sensual parts seemed more stiff, the cats were less touchy and the romantical attractions were hardly there. This is all fine but I do prefer Vienna in that perspective. The international tour felt more like a comedy, while Vienna feels more like a ... drama or tragic comedy maybe. Also, really really important to note here: Vienna actors know each other for like three years, these actors know each others for I don’t know how long. That will propably also play a role.

So yeah, all in all a great expirience (apart from Munich train station and the way home). Loved seeing another production. Made the right choice. If I had the time I would defenetly go again.

Hi earlier I think I saw a anon on here saying how Colson and Megan need to be careful with what they do bc how mean kids are and colson admitted in the past that Casie had to put someone in thier place for saying something mean or maybe it was a different account lol anyways I just wanted to add that this diddnt just go away bc even in the documentary Casie herself said that even to this day kids will go up to her and are like why is ur dad so sad, why is he so depressed, why does he dress like this or do these weird things being very judgmental so I could only imagine what they say about Megan and how she acts and what they do as a couple. Like Megan has this mentality that oh my kids don't use the internet they are to young to see what I'm doing right now so it's ok, or oh it's ok bc my kids go to a hippie school with other celebritiy kids in their school but Colson has a whole 13 yr old daughter who as far as we know is in a public school, most definitely has a phone and has kids always picking on her dad and is constantly defending him. They both need to consider the impact this is having on Casie who is the one probably always defending them. Megan even thoe she admitted in a interview years back said "I don't want a daughter bc then I woudint be queen B anymore, im used to getting all of the males attention" needs to understand that there is a 13 yr old who even thoe she loves her dad very much she can't run away or hide from the couples own consequences and is the one that actually deals with the publics opions of it. Casie is all over colsons page and music videos and movies and I know she loves him but at the same time imagine the impact this has on Casies and Megans relationship when she's having to defend her dad's fiance for letting her dad pretend to do coke off of her. Like even if she doesn't follow colson on social media I'm sure she somehow hears about it from the other kids

Yeah I really do feel bad for Casie in all of this. I know she said on Life in Pink that she likes Megan and blah blah blah but it felt so forced to me and not just from her but from the others saying it too. It was so awkward like ‘let’s just have a section in this documentary where everyone talks about how much they like Megan’ it didn’t come off genuine at all. And yes even if they try to keep her from seeing things online or even if she’s smart enough to shield herself from it, I’m sure her classmates and peers are still seeing it and teasing her about it, kids are brutal at that age. Imagine how embarrassed you’d be at 13 if your dad and ‘stepmom’ posted pics on social media for the world to see of your Dad having your ‘stepmom’ on a leash in fucking bondage gear! I swear sometimes they just do shit for attention and don’t think about how it’s gonna effect their kids 🤦🏻‍♀️

Muse Vomit

So I’ve got A Lot Of Fucking Opions™️ about Anne Bonny, and I’m really feeling her lately, so here are some need-to-know’s. Starting with this:

I’ve literally never seen Black Sails and I have no plans to. Ever.

I just really like Paget’s face.

Okay, thanks for that. Those are like the OOC “need to know” things, which I know can be confusing. The rest of this is just all regarding my personal portrayal, which pulls and diverges from history.

Appearance:

Anne has green eyes I like to describe as “sea glass” and fiery red hair. She’s freckled, scarred, and rarely parted from her trademark hat. She stands at 5’8” (172.7 cm). She isn’t “slender,” she’s skinny. Thin. She’s also left-handed, and always feigns with her right to throw people off. (And when I say always, I mean A L W A Y S . It’s an unconscious habit now, and she’s forced herself a little closer to ambidexterity than most.)

Persona:

Anne’s always had a fiery temper and a ready hand for violence. She embraced a rough childhood and continued to embrace her roughness all through her life, refusing the tame roles of daughter and wife unless they came with that delicious dash of danger. Faster than she is strong and smarter than she is fast.

I have two main versions of Anne who split at this point. Who Anne becomes depends largely on who Jack Rackham is, and so there is a difference between pseudostorical!Anne and OFMD!Anne.

If Jack Rackham is the ridiculous romantic idiot a lot of media portrays him as, Anne is his fiery, fierce wife, more likely to kick ass than to take sass any day. She is loud and unabashed and loves her life triumphantly.

If, on the other hand, Jack Rackham is the immutable loser the other part of media portrays him as, Anne is his sullen, silent second-in-command, gritty and paranoid, someone to be feared, who doesn’t get to know love. This makes more sense after you read her

History

Lord William Cormac (lately of Old Head of Kinsale, in Cork County, Ireland) was quite a lot of things, but loyal was seldom among them. While the lawyer’s wife lay dying, he was seducing the help, including one Mary Brennan. When his in-laws threatened to expose his infidelity, William Cormac moved with his maid and illegitimate daughter to Charleston, South Carolina. By the time the move to their new plantation was finished, William Cormac and his new wife were happy to invite their perfectly legitimate son to be a clerk in his father’s law firm. Andy Cormac was a quick study and had a good head for law. It was almost a shame when the news made its way down to Charleston from London, anyway, that William had seduced and now married the maid and their daughter was somewhere with them. Anne lost five things by the time she turned 16: her identity and the freedoms therein as Andy; her mother, who passed away suddenly; her childhood as she took over the household duties her mother had seen to; her conscience, which now boasted one charge of fraud, one of battery, and one of murder; and her heart.

Anne brought home her fiancé, James Bonny (a small-time pirate attempting to legitimize himself), and introduced him to her father. Upon the day of their marriage, Anne Bonny was legally disowned by her loving father—and I do mean that unironically, as Anne was her father’s pride and joy, and his greatest love. It would later turn out that William Cormac was right to dislike James Bonny.

James had likely planned to use his marriage to Anne as a means of accessing the small fortune her father had amassed. His attempts to legitimize himself consistently fell flat, likely because he was not a trustworthy person, and so when his marriage to Anne failed to produce money readily, James began to sulk. Anne, annoyed by his sulking, would spend her time in bars of all sorts, rubbing elbows with all kinds of ruffians. The more time she spent, the rougher she became; the rougher she became, the rougher the company she kept. Soon Anne was friends with many a pirate in the port, and through those friendships James saw a way out of his circumstances. Unbeknownst to Anne, James began selling out her cohorts, cashing in on their relationship to his wife by using her to provide the most recent news of them to the authorities. It was insidious, and it worked. There was just one problem.

Anne had fallen in love with someone else, having long been out of love with James.

While Jack had been developing a reputation as a poor pirate with distasteful legal dealings, Anne found a new solution to the problem of pirates being given to the governor: she simply stopped telling Jack about her friends and acquaintances, even when one such friend started to become much more. “Calico” Jack Rackham was a pirate captain with a reputation all his own, and while not a particularly good pirate, he was one of the small handful known throughout the Caribbean. He and Anne fell into a whirlwind romance, the culmination of which ended in Jack attempting to buy Anne out of her marriage. When James denied this and threatened to fight Jack instead, Anne took to the sea with Jack, taking the good-for-nothing’s name along with her.

This is where my two main versions of Anne split. One Anne gets to grow louder and prouder and become someone to follow into Hell. That Anne is with Jack Rackham, the romantic pirate. The other Anne grows quiet and sullen and fierce, someone to follow through Hell and back. That Anne is with Jack Rackham, asshole extraordinaire.

Regardless of which Anne you write with, however, the story remains the same. Anne is left in Cuba to give birth to her and Jack’s first child, who is never heard from/of again, for one reason or another. By the time Anne joins back up with Jack, he’d taken a Dutch ship and pressed the sailors into piracy, including a young man named Mark Read. Despite starting a piratical career against their will, Mark grew to love the life and their companions, especially Anne. The two grew very close, assisted in no small part by Mark’s most precious of secrets. Jack would become jealous of Mark and Anne, believing the scuttlebutt that the two were having an amorous affair. The scuttlebutt happened to be true. Anne, however, fearing for Mark’s safety, revealed their secret to one other person aboard the Revenge. Once Jack learned Mark’s secret, he turned a blind eye to their dalliances with Anne, and likely had dalliances with Mark to boot.

Mark, you see, was biologically a woman. A woman named Mary Read, who lived so much of their life as a man (in contrast to Anne’s own brief stints, at least) that I refuse to use she/her pronouns for Mary. He/him, they/them, or bust. Anyway.

October of 1720 proved to be the downfall of The Revenge and her crew. The pirate ship had just taken a Spanish commerce ship and spent the night celebrating this victory by drinking to excess, with the notable exceptions of Mark and Anne. The next morning, The Revenge was attacked by a former pirate currently working as a naval captain. The celebrations of the nightly before had incapacitated Rackham and his crew, who stayed below decks or otherwise surrendered without a fight. Anne and Mark were the only two crewmen to fight back against the British Navy, and being only two, the lost handily. The entirety of The Revenge’s crew were taken to Port Royale to stand trial, at which time Anne famously berated Jack. (“Had you fought like a man, you need not have been hang'd like a dog.”) Anne and Mark were granted temporary stays of execution, as both were pregnant at the time the rest of The Revenge was sentenced to death.

Mark would die in prison from a fever, never giving birth; Anne, on the other hand, is a less clear case. Most simply say that she disappeared. Others, however, suspect William Cormac may have had something to do with it. Specifically, that William paid Anne’s ransom and brought her back to South Carolina, where she ended up having her second child, remarrying, and dying quietly surrounded by eight other children on April 25, 1782.
