Not Fun Dreams
Dalton Lambert x fem!prophet(esc)!reader
Word Count: 6.1k
Warnings: insidious 5 spoilers, some angst, canon level events/violence (descriptions of the readers visions as violence and never being good), shared trauma, a lot of unedited fic lol
Author’s Note: This ended up a LITTLE LONG good lord lol. I just kept going! I hope you enjoy love, it ended up being a little less angst then I wanted to have some sort of preunderstood relationship. ALSO i made up the art school dalton goes too because I couldnt’ find the name or remember if it was mentioned. When will this movie be available to watch whenever i want smh. Anyway, enjoy!
Requested: by anon, your dalton fics were amazing and if you’re still in the mood to write for him i got an idea! dalton with a prophet esque reader. maybe not full out but maybe they have dreams or in certain places they can see what will happen there but doesn’t get the full event ( mostly negative/horrific things because this is the insidious universe and nobody can have nothing). id imagine they’d be more reclusive than dalton because even though they’re both obviously very traumatized reader constantly has to see these horrific things and not know how to stop them. knowing possibly from a young age where you and the people you love will die. the trauma bonding. the protectiveness. imagine the drama if she knew the whole time he could astral project and didn’t tell him, like being childhood friends and going to the same college as you saw something in a dream (one of the dorm scenes) and are trying to prevent it. i’m an angst girlie through and through and this movie made me worst. please don’t feel pressured to write at all, and i hope you have a great day/night!
I don’t own these characters. They belong to author/director/creator

When you were a kid it was much more simple. It made far more sense to you when your imagination was stretched as far as it could go. It was clouded by the guise of childhood, never knowing what was supposed to happen and what wasn’t. You figured that when you went to sleep and pictures flipped in your head piercing like a migraine, everything was normal. Your parents told you it was just dreams, even when the dreams started to get darker. You saw flashes of people’s faces, drenched in fear as they faced something unknown. The nightmares got worse. You insisted they weren’t nightmares. Children dealt with weird things all the time.
It helped when the boy next door flew away in his sleep.
Everyone must have these little gifts then right? All the children had a perk that slightly scared them, one they told their friends about that their parents didn’t pay much attention to.
You’ll never forget the day Dalton moved. He left the house he had grown up in so that his parents could move somewhere bigger, somewhere to raise the new baby. You remember his little face, matching yours. You had never had a friend you cared for so much. It felt like the world could be taken on when you were with Dalton.
“Are you sure you have to go?” you asked, quietly. You knew the answer to the question, even then. You had had an awful nightmare the night before. You had seen flashes of Dalton in bed, tubes surrounding him, IV’s in his arm.
“My mom says so,” he muttered. You were hunched together in the corner of his house. Now empty, it seemed much larger. You didn’t like being in places that seemed to be experiencing change. You saw enough change.
“But I’m worried,” you whispered. “Something might happen to you in the new house.” Your voice was hushed. Even then, you knew it was no use in telling his parents. No one would believe you. But you had to warn him because if anyone trusted you, it was Dalton.
“Maybe it’s just another one of your not fun dreams,” he said quietly. He had gotten used to protecting you from them. You were often shaky when you woke up. He had seen it after a sleepover, cold sweats dripping down your petrified face. “Not one that would come true.”
You had known the lady down the street would trip down the stairs and die three weeks prior. But no one cared to check with the little girl who had silly prophetic dreams.
“But what if it isn’t.” You pouted, a genuine pout. Dalton put his hand on yours, in a way only children could do. The most innocent of gestures. A sign of good faith.
“I’ll be okay.” Even then he didn’t believe his words. He had been wandering further and further out in his dreams. You told him to stop, that it scared you. He insisted they were nothing like your dreams. His weren’t real.
“You ready to go guys?” Josh Lambert asked. He walked up behind you, carrying a book at his side.
“You’ll call right?” you asked quickly, suddenly overcome by emotion. Dalton nodded eagerly.
“We’ve got your number, don’t worry,” Josh assured you. “We won’t be that far, right Dalton? Just down the road.” Dalton wanted to disagree but he didn’t. He just nodded, not ready for you to leave his house. Not ready to leave it himself.
“I’ll call everyday,” Dalton promised.
After a couple weeks he stopped calling. Your parents wouldn’t tell you why. Just that he couldn’t come to the phone. You could see him in your dreams, desperately lost and you had no way of helping him.
-
You woke up with a start.
As you grew up the dreams started to become less violent. They were always violent in nature but sometimes you could wake up and not feel panicked. You looked at your bedside table, the orange bottles staring back at you. Some were for panic attacks, some were for general anxiety, some to help you sleep. You debated taking one, wondering if you could stick it out for the day. The thought was quickly dismissed.
You had dreamt of Dalton.
You hadn’t dreamt of Dalton since you were a kid, since you lost touch. The memory of it became so blurry over time. There was no way you could have blamed him for it. In hindsight you blame your parents and the cycle of time. You went to different schools and there was no reason to stay in touch because you couldn’t ever see each other.
You grabbed your phone off the side of your bed. You hadn’t seen much.
Dalton. Older, taller, handsomer. A full man now, though you weren’t sure why you were surprised. A school, the name of the school just barely on the tip of your tongue. You wrote down everything you remembered furiously. The feeling of dread. A familiar creeping of darkness that you couldn’t quite place. Your dreams were sporadic. Whatever you had dreamt of could still be months out.
You got out of bed and walked down the hallway. You were packing for school yourself, eager to leave by the end of the week. The car was almost packed with most of your things.
You reached for your parents phone book. They kept it beside the fridge, even though it was ancient and most of the numbers were outdated. You had given them grief about it before. Everyone had numbers saved to their phones now, what was the point of a phone book?
You ate your words as you flipped through the pages, looking for Lambert. Sure enough, both Renai and Josh were separately listed. You reached for your phone, trying Renai first.
It rang for a while, leading you to believe the number might’ve been wrong. Then there was an answer and a kind voice spoke on the other end.
“Hello?”
“Hi! Is this Renai Lambert?”
“This is her. Who is this?”
“Hi Mrs. Lambert! This is kind of weird but my name is Y/N. I used to be friends with Dalton when we were kids?” There was a beat of silence and then a laugh, one you remembered well. You had always liked Renai. She was endlessly kind, always offering you lemonade when you came around. You could still hear her playing songs on the piano while you and Dalton ran around their house.
“Y/N! Oh goodness, it’s been a while hasn’t it? Why are you calling now?” You smiled, happy she remembered you.
“I just randomly dreamt of Dalton last night and hadn’t seen him in years. I was wondering if he still lived with you or if I could talk to him?”
“For sure! Gimme one second.” She moved away. You could hear a muffled call for Dalton. The phone returned to her ear. “How have you been?”
“I’ve been good! I’m going to art school at the end of the month,” you offered.
“Really? So is Dalton! Oh, here he is!” There was a moment as the phone was passed along. You cleared your throat.
“Hello?”
“Dalton?” There was another beat of silence. You thought maybe he didn’t remember you, which would be slightly awkward. You would have to re-explain everything before he would even believe a word that came out of your mouth. Then he spoke.
“Y/N?” You let out a breath of relief.
“Yeah.” He scoffed and you could picture him shaking his head in disbelief.
“What’s up? Are you okay?” Still the same protective boy he had been when you were kids.
“I had a dream about you last night and I wanted to call, see if you were okay.” Another moment of silence. You wondered if Renai had left the room.
“A not fun dream?” he asked quietly. You nodded, looking down.
“Yeah.” You could hear Renai in the background.
“She’s going to art school too.”
“Really? Where are you going?”
“Western. Not far from home, at least, where home used to be.”
“Me too,” he breathed. “Who would’ve thought?” You bit the inside of your cheek, wondering what it would be like to be back with Dalton again. You had never felt so understood like when you were with him.
“When do you leave? We should meet up for lunch.”
-
Dalton Lambert had gotten tall. You noticed that first when you saw him. He stepped right out of your dreams and onto his dorm room flooring. You had just missed Josh who had eagerly scurried away. Your parents had left you too. Now you and Dalton were finally in a place where you could hang out away from adults, which was a weird feeling when you were together.
He had texted you his room number and you knocked on the door. When it opened, he hugged you. It wasn’t awkward or weird. In fact, it felt like you had finally come home.
“How are you?” you asked.
“I’m okay,” he promised. He ushered you in. “I’d be better if you told me what your dream was about.” You shook your head.
“It was just you being here.”
“You have good dreams now?” You shook your head.
“That’s the whole thing.” He gestured for you to sit at his desk or at the empty bed beside his. You sat down on his bed anyway, putting your feet up to your chest like you were a child. “I don’t. But I remember feeling bad when I woke up, like something was coming.” You looked over at him. “How are you? How are your dreams?”
He paused for a moment, like he was glitching or buffering. You tilted your head.
“Dalton?”
“My dreams are fine,” he answered finally. “Not nearly as interesting as yours.” You nodded slowly. That wasn’t exactly the answer you were expecting to get but you trusted him to open up when he was ready. “So do you think somethings gonna happen?”
“I don’t know. I think I’ll know more later,” you promised, though you only half believed it.
“The last time you dreamt about me I went into my coma,” he said quietly, cautiously. He opened up to you quickly, knowing what it was like to be friends with you when you were a kid. There was something so special about being known before you even knew yourself.
“I know. That’s why I found my parents' phonebook and called your mom.”
“At least you’ll be closer this time around,” he suggested. “You’re welcome to hit me in the head if I start drifting off when I’m not supposed to.” You laughed gently.
“Good to know.” You looked up at his wall. He had started to put drawings up. His mom was in the one above his pillow, at her piano. She looked just like you remembered her. “How is she?” you asked. Your eyes scanned the room. “Oh man, how is Foster? Cali?”
“Good, good, they’re all good,” he promised, laughing a bit. “My parents got divorced a couple years ago. My dad is slightly losing it.”
“As all dads do.” Your eyes scanned the wall. There was a picture of his brother. Another of his grandmother, who you only met every once in a while. Above her was a picture you recognized. It was you. You when you were a kid, in a room you no longer remembered. “Is that me?” He cleared his throat.
“Your call had me looking through pictures.” You glanced at him, smiling a bit.
“I loved your house so much. It was like a second home to me.”
“It was a first home to me.” You rolled your eyes.
“We have so much to catch up on. Tell me everything. I have nowhere to be.”
-
Dalton’s room became a second one to you. It was serendipitous, moving from swapping houses to swapping dorm rooms. The transition felt comfortable and seamless. His roommate Chris moved out because she was a girl so you mostly got the room to yourselves.
A couple weeks in, he started to have nightmares. Nights where you recognized the look on his face when he woke up. It was the same look he had after he had wandered too far, daring you to go with him. When he woke up he looked just like a kid still. Big wide eyes, confused.
You sat on the spare bed. Dalton had fallen asleep half an hour before but you couldn’t bring yourself to leave. There was nothing wrong with just falling asleep there. You had done it before and you would do it again, waking up to his alarm for his early class.
You laid your head down on the pillow, scrolling on your phone. The night had fallen, indicating that you should let yourself drift off into sleep. You raised your head a bit, wondering if you could easily find one of Dalton’s shirts to wear to sleep instead of your uncomfortable day one. You should’ve asked him before he fell asleep. You stood up lazily, rubbing your eyes. The room was only illuminated by the nightlight at Dalton’s side. He had fallen asleep with a pencil still in his hand, his sketchbook still out on his side.
You groggily slipped the pencil out of his fingers, putting it on the desk. You grabbed his sketchbook, looking at what he was looking at. It was still just lines on a paper, soon to be something beautiful. You put it aside. You were about to turn around when he woke up with a start.
He lifted his head completely, almost ramming into you. You jumped, startled.
“Woah!” you exclaimed. He was breathing heavily. He looked up at you, eyes wide. You met his gaze, almost positive what had just happened. “Did you wander off?”
“What?”
“In your sleep. Did you project?” He was silent for a moment, still trying to catch up on whatever it was going on in his head. He didn’t say anything for a second, staring at you with bewildered eyes. “Dalton?”
He finally opened his eyes up to speak but was cut off by a loud screeching. You put your hands over your ears, wincing. The fire alarm was going off. Dalton scrambled out of bed, looking at the door. He rushed forward, pushing it open.
Down the hall, all the other students were leaving their beds. Most were still muddled with sleep, wearing nothing but their pajamas. You peeked your head out behind him. He grabbed your arm and started to bring you down the hallway to the stairs. It was too tight for everyone so his grip was iron tight, weaving through the confusion. You pushed through the door to the stairs, moving with the herd down. You glanced back, trying to find the source of the confusion.
You emerged outside into the night. It was freezing. The group dispersed into the courtyard, everyone looking back to the building you had just left. You brushed against Dalton behind you, who had finally let go of your arm. You couldn’t see anything in the building, nothing to indicate a reason everyone was leaving.
“Do you see anything?” you asked him. He shook his head.
“No.” You shivered, suddenly very aware of how cold it was.
“Maybe it was a drill,” you suggested. He nodded slowly, not wanting to argue as his eyes scanned the building.
Someone was yelling something in a megaphone you couldn’t make out. You tried to find the source of the voice to no avail.
“What are they saying?”
“False alarm,” he said, like it wasn’t a question. You furrowed your brows.
“How can you hear that?”
“I pulled it,” he said, finally. You turned around to look at him.
“How? You were right there with me the whole time.”
“I did it in my sleep.”
“If you knew it was a false alarm, why did we come out here?”
“Because I wasn’t sure.” His voice sounded far away. You looked back at the building, completely safe in the backdrop of the night. You turned back to him. His look was dreary and unreadable. “You should probably go back to your room,” he said, voice still far away. You tried not to take that badly. It just seemed random.
“Okay,” you said quietly. “Are you okay Dalton?”
“Yeah, yeah I’m good.” You nodded slowly. People started to pass you, going back inside.
“Want me to walk you back up?” “I’m okay,” he assured you, some of the life returning to his voice.
“Alright…I’ll see you tomorrow?” He nodded quickly and started to walk into the crowd.
-
The next morning you woke up in a daze. You couldn’t quite remember what happened the night before, all of it glossing over your memory like a blur. You grabbed your phone off the side table, your roommate still snoozing away. You had a text from Dalton and a text from Chris, his old roommate.
Taking Dalton to that frat party tonight. Wanna come?
You opened that one up first. Dalton at a frat party? You almost snorted. You hadn’t been back in his life for very long but it didn’t seem like his vibe. You opened Dalton’s text next.
Sorry about last night. Had a weird dream and woke up weird.
You texted him back immediately.
No worries. Are you really going to the frat party tonight?
Almost immediately a little bubble showed up in the white box. You laid your head back down on the pillow. It felt like you had only taken a nap because of the weird in between moments. A text came from Dalton.
Supposedly. Chris wants me to go. Do you wanna come?
You glanced at your calendar.
I have a test in the morning, I think I’ll pass. Thanks for the invite tho :) Try not to get too drunk!
You opened Chris’s texts back up too to answer her as well. As you were typing out your response, Dalton texted you again.
Are you sure??? I could get lost, drunk and suggestive. Who would protect me from the onslaught of potential girls?
You rolled your eyes harder.
Chris will!
You turned off your phone to get ready for the day.
-
You sat on your bed in your dorm room. Your eyes were dropping off to sleep, phone down on your comforter, computer open as you looked at reference pictures. Your sketch book was open, though it didn’t have anything except the bare bones of some sort of idea. You hummed to the music coming from your phone, mind wandering from your work.
Your roommate had gone to the same frat party as Dalton. You were by yourself tonight as the sun dropped. It was becoming more clear that you just wanted to go to sleep tonight to wake up rested for the test. You picked up your phone, pursing your lips as you tried to decide if giving up homework was worth it for the night. You had no new texts from Dalton or Chris except a picture from Chris’s phone of the two of them there. You smiled a bit. Dalton looked awkward and out of place. It was good that he was branching out.
Finally you set your things aside. There was no use in trying to do any more work when you were still catching up on sleep from the night before.
As you placed your head on the pillow a simultaneous pierce through your skull erupted. You grabbed your head at the familiar feeling. Usually you only got visions when you were asleep, waking up to some sort of horrific memory.
A bathroom. It felt cold, like ice, like the ground hadn’t been stepped on by humans in years. A boy was there, his face shrouded by the toilet. He gripped the sides but his hands didn’t look real. Something was wrong with him. You couldn’t tell what it was. The sound of the door opening, a creek, a sudden stop.
You dug your nails into the skin on your forehead, willing it to stop. It had been so long since you were awake when this happened.
Before it subsided you could see Dalton in the doorway. The dread returned, the same dread you had when you were a kid and he was moving away where you couldn’t protect him. You let out a breath that you had been holding. Your hands were shaking.
Usually you wrote down what you saw, quickly jotting down things you could remember. Typically nothing would stand out for you to take immediate action. This time you jumped out of bed, quickly putting on slip on shoes. You were wearing shorts and a hoodie, clothes to sleep in, when you ran down the stairs. You had never been to the frat the party was at tonight but there were still fliers everywhere and you assured yourself you would find one.
Thankfully, right on the pole outside of the building was a green poster with the address. You knew where Greek Row was, not more than a five minute walk from your dorm. You turned towards it and started to run.
By the time you got there you were already exhausted. You crashed through the door, entering a chaotic scene. There were people everywhere, ramming into each other, sloshing drinks on people’s clothes, too drunk to care. You scanned the crowd. You pushed through people, to the staircase. There were people hanging out there, leaning against the railing, leaning against each other. You walked upstairs, searching for a bathroom. The doors were mostly locked.
You ran right into Chris, leaving the bathroom. You peeked inside but it wasn’t the one from your vision.
“Woah! You decided to come after all! What are you wearing?”
“Where’s Dalton?” She gestured to a door down the hall. You rushed towards it, almost tripping over yourself. You swung the door open. Dalton was on the ground, half under the bed, face filled with fear. “Dalton!” He snapped his head back up at you and then back in the air. There was nothing there. “Did you..did you see that?”
“No.”
“There was something-” You fell to your knees beside him, helping him out from under the bed.
“What did you see?”
“A kid in the bathroom. There was someone in the bathroom and he was-”
“Dead.” Chris emerged at the door frame.
“What are you guys talking about?”
“Have you been astral projecting lately?” you asked him, voice low and serious. His eyebrows furrowed.
“Have I been what?” You stared at him for a long time, unsure what he meant. Maybe he just didn’t want to say anything in front of Chris.
“Dalton come on.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said and he felt honest. He grabbed your hand, willing you to believe him.
“When we were kids you could walk around in your sleep. Your soul left your body or whatever.” You paused, trying to read his face. “You don’t remember?”
‘No,” he said, honestly.
“What are you guys talking about?” Chris repeated.
“We should go,” you said quickly. “We’ll talk back at the dorms.” You helped Dalton up.
-
Though she protested, Chris left the two of you alone in Dalton’s dorm. The explanations coming out of his mouth weren’t something she trusted and she trusted you to make sure he went to bed alright. Though she did feel bad for dragging him along, unsure if the drinking had something to do with his abnormal reaction.
“We have to call your parents,” you said as he sat down at his desk. He shook his head.
“I can’t.”
“Yes you can. They know what happened here and why you don’t remember it.” You hadn’t known everything about Dalton being in a coma but you didn’t expect him to remember nothing of it completely. He detailed not even remembering being sick. They moved into the new house and then the rest of the year was nothing but a blur.
“I wouldn’t believe you if I hadn’t just seen it,” he breathed. You grabbed his phone off the table, opening it up. “Wait-”
“No wait. We have to call your mom. She’ll know what to do.”
“But this could just be something completely normal. You said I could do it before I went into my coma.”
“And then you went too far, Dalton. I don’t actually know how far too far is but I know you’re already too close to it.” You held up the phone for him. “Call her.” He looked at you, eyebrows knitted. He looked at the canvas at his desk, completely covered in black, a red door created at the edges. There was something at that door he couldn’t remember anymore. He set his jaw and grabbed his phone.
“I don’t think this is gonna help.”
“Put it on speaker.”
The phone rang for a moment but no longer than that. Renai answered quickly.
“Hello? Dalton?”
“Hey mom.”
“It’s nice of you to call,” she said, half jokingly. “How are things there? Are you settling in nicely?”
“Yeah mom, that’s not really why I called.” He gave you a look as you sat beside him eagerly. “I’ve been having these dreams and Y/N said you might know something about that.”
The line was silent for a moment.
“What kind of dreams?”
“I can see my body when I leave it. Like I’m walking around in this other world.”
“Is Y/N there?”
“Right here Mrs. Lambert.” She paused again. The tension seeped from the phone. You met Dalton’s eyes.
“Mom?”
“Maybe I should just come up there and talk to you in person. Can Y/N stay with you until I get there?”
“What? Mom, you don’t need to come all the way up here.” Shuffling came from the other line.
“It’s too hard to explain over the phone. I’ll be there in the morning.”
“No, mom.” He took a deep breath. “What happened? Tell me now.” His hands were wrapped tightly around the phone. He had grabbed your hand. You couldn’t remember when.
“You and your father don’t know,” she said quietly. “We made it so that those memories were suppressed. I don’t know how it came back.” She shuddered. “When you were in the coma you went somewhere Dalton. For three months, we lost you.”
“Where?”
“A place called The Further.” Her voice was gravely serious. He stared at the ground. The name sent shivers down his spine, like all that repressed childhood fear came back. “You got lost there and things tried to take your body. Your dad went back to find you and…something else came back instead of him.” Dalton looked at the door painting on his desk.
“How do I stop it?”
“I don’t know honey. I’m coming down.”
“What about dad? What if he’s going through this too?”
“I’ll get your father. We’ll come together.” Dalton had nothing to say to that. It must be serious if they were going to stay together for a long period of time like the drive up to school. “Stay with Y/N.” There was a beat. “I love you Dalton.”
“I love you too mom.”
She hung up the phone. For a long time you just sat there in silence. You hadn’t ever gotten those answers before, the ones you had only gotten glimpses of when you were a kid trying to sleep.
“I remember the demon trying to get you,” you whispered. “He was dark…with red,” you said. “I had nightmares about him for months. I kept seeing him get closer and closer but no one believed me.”
Dalton looked over at you, his look unreadable.
“He’s trying to get me again,” Dalton muttered. “I can feel him.”
You shook your head. That was the last thing you wanted to hear. You stood up, letting go of his hand.
“This is bigger than us. There’s this whole other world and you’re going to it and it’s so close-”
“But if I don’t go to it then-”
“Are you gonna stay awake? Forever?” Dalton shut his mouth. “Repressing the ability didn’t work so what else is there to do but enter the place?” You shivered. Just the memory of your visions sent chills down your spine. “I haven’t seen the demon recently. I’ve just seen you.”
“Maybe that’s a good thing.” You nodded. You paced, unsure what to do with all the fear in your body. “We just have to wait till the morning, then my mom will be here.” You both knew that might not solve anything. Still, you nodded. There was nothing else to do but wait.
 “I’m staying here with you.”
“I don’t wanna be alone anyway.” He shook his head, voice far away. This dorm had started to become a safe haven, despite the places your brain went when you were asleep. It felt much better than your own dorm with the roommate you hardly knew. You’d likely be getting a text from her in the morning, wondering where you were again.
You sat back down on Dalton’s bed.
“Are we gonna try and stay awake all night?” He shook his head.
“If I wake up I’ll just stay right where I am.”
“That sounds easier than it will be.” It was already late, nearly midnight. You were tired and your heart was starting to slow down now that the problem didn’t seem as pressing. You rubbed the sleep out of your eyes but it didn’t do much.
“Are you ready to sleep now?” he asked. You nodded.
“I really thought I was gonna go to bed early tonight. Looks like I’ll be skipping the test in the morning.”
“I don’t want you to do that. I’ll be fine by myself.” You shook your head.
“No way. I’m staying here until your parents show.” You yawned. “But I should probably go to sleep soon.” He glanced at the bed on the other side of the room. He knew you would go there automatically if he didn’t say otherwise. He couldn’t exactly explain it but he would just feel safer if you were closer to him.
He could explain it but suddenly that feeling was scarier then wandering off into The Further.
“I’ll take that b-”
“You could sleep with me.” You raised an eyebrow at the suggestion. Without so much as a beat you answered.
“Okay.” He let out a breath. You got up. “Scoot over then.” He looked up at you and your willingness to be so close to him.
“I’ve gotta change.”
“Then change.” He stood up, walking to his drawer. He shuffled around in there for something acceptable to wear. Usually he just wore his boxers and a shirt but suddenly that felt so revealing. He could see you in the corner of his eye, getting under the covers and getting comfortable.
You tried to pretend it wasn’t a big deal to you that he asked even though your heart was in your throat.
“Don’t look,” he said. You made a dramatic gesture of covering your eyes. He took his shirt, facing away from you. You peaked between your fingers, admiring his back as he quickly slipped the other shirt back on. When he undid his belt you covered your eyes again.
“You can stay awake,” you offered. He turned off the lamp on the desk, leaving only the nightlight. He moved the blankets aside so he could sit beside you.
“I’m exhausted from finding out my memory was erased.”
“It sounds so dramatic that way.”
“What would you say?”
“Hypnotism.” He put his head against the pillow, facing you. It was rare you were at eye level.
“That’s dramatic too.”
You sat there in silence for a moment. You hadn’t seen his face so close to you since you were kids. It was just like the sleepovers you had when you were a kid, just a little less innocent.
“Are you scared to fall asleep?” he asked, voice a whisper now.
“Sometimes. Tonight I am. I don’t wanna dream about you.” He should be feeling awkward, being so close to you. Instead he felt more comfortable than ever.
“Then don’t.”
“I’ll give it my best effort.” Your eyes were so heavy. They closed without you even thinking about it.
“I’m gonna be awake a little longer. I think I’m gonna sketch.”
“Okay Dalton,” you whispered and it sounded so incredibly childlike. He sat up a bit, leaning against the headboard. He grabbed his sketchpad off the table. You nuzzled your head into the pillow. “Do you mind if I use you as a pillow?” you asked quietly.
“No. Not at all.”
You moved forward a bit and then your head was on his lower chest, arm over him. He put his hand over your back and suddenly sketching seemed much less important than making you comfortable.
“Goodnight Y/N.”
-
Neither of you had set an alarm.
Renai and Josh showed up early at 7 the next morning, the sun still slowly coming up. Renai knocked on the door, antsy to see her son. She had explained everything to Josh on the way over. He was pleased to find he wasn’t crazy.
The knock went unanswered. She took a deep breath and knocked again.
“You don’t think it’s unlocked do you?” she questioned. Josh tried the doorknob. It opened with ease. They shared a look.
The other bed was still unused. Laying in the other bed was you and Dalton. You were on his chest, a pencil lazily in his fingers. He was hugging you with both arms, cheek pressed against your head.
Renai couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief.
“They’re okay,” she whispered. Josh nodded. He wanted to smile at the sight. It felt right.
“Should we wait for them to wake up?”
Renai couldn’t help but feel unhappy when Dalton slept. Even years later, whenever he slept in, she was checking on him constantly.
“They’ll understand.” She approached him, sitting at the edge and nudging his shoulder. He groaned. He was okay. He was there. You nosed your face further into his chest.
Neither of you had any nightmares that night. Your sleep was as black as it should be, consumed by each other's arms.

First Date
You’re at work Friday morning talking comfortably with your coworkers since your boss is out of the office for the day, the rest of you are taking advantage. You wandered off to the cafe next door for your caffeine hit and now you’re counting down the hours until your date that night with the incredibly sexy Will Miller. He wasn’t much of a texter, but he has called you twice since he asked you out on Tuesday. You thought it was sweet.
You weren’t really listening to your coworker prattle on about whatever it was she was complaining about today - you thought it was something about someone parking in her space again. Your thoughts were instead planning your post-work, pre-date prep you were going to do in a few hours. Will had organized a classic first date and you were really excited. He was going to pick you up at your place, and take you for dinner and drinks at a small but classy restaurant you’ve never tried but always wanted to. You had the perfect first date outfit waiting for you back home and you were mentally sorting through your shoe options when your phone rang.
You excused yourself from the others and took the call in your boss’ currently vacant office. You smiled when you saw the caller ID. “Hey there,” you said when you answered.
Will’s voice came through the other end warm and smooth as always, but there was a hesitation there you noticed when he said, “Hello, is this a good time?”
“Yes, what’s up?”
“Please don’t be upset, but I have to reschedule tonight,” he spilled out. You could hear the stress in his voice.
“What happened, are you okay?” you asked, concerned.
“I’m fine, I’d really rather not have to do this, but Benny booked a fight tonight and it’s a chance for him to get out of this amaterur league and somewhere a bit more respectable,” Will sighed after he explained.
“And you don’t want me to come?”
Will paused on the phone. He looked over his shoulder where Benny was eating lunch. And he considered your words. He would love for you to come, any chance to spend time with you of course. But he wasn’t sure if he was ready for you to see the grittier part of his life. Benny’s fights weren’t glamorous and the crowds crude at best. Plus he didn’t want to overwhelm you with meeting his brother and his friends that were essentially brothers too all at once on a first date.
“You’d want to come to a low tier fight, hang out with my brother and friends, instead of a romantic candlelight dinner?” he asked to gage your reaction.
“If you want me there, I'd absolutely like to come. Isn’t the whole point of a first date to get to know each other, this seems like a great way to get to know you,” you said plainly, deciding honesty was probably the best policy with a guy like Will.
“I’ll pick you up at 6!” Will said with excitement.
You smiled and agreed before hanging up the phone. You returned to where your coworker sat and when they started talking again you tuned them out and sipped your artisan coffee that was starting to go cold while you started from scratch on an outfit idea for a fight night to replace the one previously planned.
At 17:45 Will parked up the street, out of sight,of your apartment. He was frankly too excited. It took all of his self control to only be 15 minutes early to pick you up. He wanted to be on time and normal and not reveal just how eager he was to see you. He really liked the phone calls you’ve already had and meeting you has been a real joy in his life, a welcome change to his usual routine.
At 5:50pm you paced around your apartment stopping occasionally to double check your appearance in the mirror. You’ve changed 5 times already since you got home from work before settling on the simple outfit you currently wore. It complimented your body in all the right ways, but it appeared casual enough for the event. It seemed like the obvious choice; you're not sure why it took you 5 tries to get there, but here you were.
Unable to wait any longer, Will knocked on your front door at 17:55, fully expecting to have to wait for you to finish getting ready. To his surprise you answered just a second after he dropped his hand from your door. You looked genuinely happy to see him and his heart fluttered in his chest. He quickly checked you out, trying to stay respectful, but you looked so beautiful and so sexy he felt his pants tighten a bit at the sight of you.
“You look -” he was at a loss for words, “You look beautiful”.
You felt something warm clench deep within you at his words. He looked great too, he wore jeans that hugged his thighs and ass just right with a simple button up shirt he had rolled to his elbows exposing his Delta Force tattoo.
“You look pretty great yourself,” you replied jumping out the front door and locking it behind you. He put his hand on your lower back as he guided you towards his truck parked out front. Your skin felt hot under his touch and your pulse quickened.
He held the passenger door open for you as you hopped into the truck and watched him walk around the front and get in beside you. The cab was filled with the smell of his cologne and you found it intoxicating. The date had barely started and already you felt yourself yearning for the chance to reach across the center console and touch him.
Will started the truck and looked over at you. He got lost in your eyes and had never felt luckier than he did in that moment. He put the truck in drive and felt bold. He reached across the console and gently laid his hand on your knee. He wasn’t sure what the rest of the night would bring, or if you’d want to go out with him again after tonight, so he figured he better not waste a moment.
You arrived at a high school gym where the event was taking place - it certainly was not what you expected for a grown man’s fight night, but the music was blaring and the crowd sounded enthusiastic.
Will stopped you by the side of the truck, “I’ve gotta go back with Benny, would you mind if I left you with my friend, Fish? He’s good people.”
You laughed, “Fish?”
“It’s a nickname, I’ll let him explain,” Will said, looking around.
“Not a problem, where is he?” you replied, at this point just in for the ride of where this night would take you.
“I don’t see him yet, which means I probably have time for this,” he whispered as he gently touched his hand to your hip.
Your breath hitched in your chest as he looked into your eyes. You felt yourself lean towards him without really thinking about it. He gently brushed his lips against yours and you felt your heart beat clean out of your chest. You reached your hand to his chest gently as he brushed a thumb against your hip and his moustache tickled your lip and made you smile and deepen the kiss.
“Are we interrupting?” Came a voice from behind you which absolutely was interpreting, you were only getting started. You heard a gentle whack from behind you then the same voice saying, “What was that for?”
Will pulled back, breaking the kiss but he kept his hand resting on your hip and you both turned to face Frankie Morales and his pregnant wife Maria. Will made the introductions and you take an immediate liking to the pair.
“You’ll have to excuse my husband,” Maria said, “He likes to poke fun. Also he’s not very patient and we’ve been dying to meet the girl Will told us about.”
You push your shoulder gently into Will’s chest, “You’ve been talking about me?”
“No,” Will said too quickly, “I just said I was bringing a date.”
“Which for Will is like getting a megaphone and standing on a rooftop,” Frankie teased.
Will flushed, “I have to see Benny, I’m already late,” and he gave you a scratchy kiss on the check - which you really liked - and left you behind with your new friends.
“So,” you said turning to the floppy haired man, “your name is ‘Fish’?”
Before he can explain the meaning you're joined by a tall, dominating figure with a dark expression and a full beard. Frankie hugs the man and then introduces you to him. He shakes your hand firmly. “Tom, nice to meet you,” he says quickly before turning back to Frankie.
Maria links her arm with yours. “Let’s grab a beer,” she says, leading you inside to the bar, “I may be pregnant but I can still be a bad influence.”
You grab a beer and chat easily with Maria. She shares that she is just three months pregnant so they’ve only just started to tell people the big news. You can tell she is so happy, it’s hard not to be excited with her. She urges you through your first beer much quicker than you intend and insists on buying your second and she grabs a round for Frankie and Tom.
You meet the boys at some uncomfortable chairs placed near what will become Benny’s corner. Frankie greets his wife with a deep kiss that is mostly sweet, but does create some awkward silence between you and Tom.
“Are they always like this?” you ask him in an attempt to break the awkwardness.
“I don’t blame them,” he replied curtly.
The empty silence hung between you and without a better idea, you took a long swig from your beer.
Just then, thankfully, the music changed and the announcer announced Benny’s entrance. You and your group roared and cheered as loud as you could. Tom may be a bit standoffish but he clearly was a big supporter of Benny so you had to give him credit there, even if he clearly had no manners.
During the fight you clung to Maria’s hand and cheered and groaned along with her as Benny took a pretty serious beating. You watched Will from Benny’s corner and ached to be close to him. He seemed so anxious for his brother and it melted your heart to see his passion and protective instincts on full display. Though the violence of it all seemed really intense and not to your typical taste, you had a great time. Tom cheered the loudest when Benny was called the winner and danced around the ring celebrating.
That’s how you found yourself sandwiched in a booth at a dive bar between Will and the wall. He was pressed hard into you by an overly enthusiastic Benny on his other side. Tom left early, something about an early open house or something the next morning, so it was just the five of you.
“Have you heard from Pope lately?” Benny asked Frankie.
Frankie’s eyes grew dark and Maria patted his arm. “No, not for a while now,” Frankie said, and a silence fell over the table.
“He’ll be fine, he’ll reach out when he’s ready,” Will said.
Benny knocked his glass to his brother’s, “You’re damn right.”
Frankie still looked sad, so you changed the subject, “I think we need another round, move boys, this one’s on me.”
You gently pushed Will and he and Benny shoved out of the booth to let you pass. You stood up and Will pressed a kiss to your lips as you passed which earned a wolf-whistle from Benny and an “Aw” from Maria and Frankie.
You got to the bar and ordered another pitcher. You were smiling so hard your face hurt. Without question this had been one of the best first dates ever, even better than you could have hoped for.
Or at least it was until the Worst Man in the World made it his new life’s mission to ruin your good mood. You were leaning against the bar waiting for your pitcher when he sauntered up to you and put a greasy palm straight on your ass and whispered, “I bet these jeans would look even better on my bedroom floor,” into your ear with stale breath. You pulled away from him and he grabbed your arm to keep you close.
“I’m not interested,” you said, coolly.
“Come on baby, at least come for a spin with me,” he slurred at you, his grip on your arm getting painfully tight.
Will sat at the table laughing at Maria’s impersonation of Fish talking in his sleep. He went to take another drink of his beer only to realize it was empty. He looked around the bar trying to find you, frankly more bothered by your absence than that of the beer.
He hadn’t felt like this for such a long time. He thought back to your first kiss which came so early in the evening and knew he found someone special, someone worth knowing. He was putting himself out there, and he promised himself he wouldn’t do anything to scare you off, he’d do everything he could to make sure you always looked at him the way you did when he kissed you.
He looked around Benny’s flailing arms as he told some story making fun of Fish he’s told several times before when he saw a man at the bar grab your arm and you pull away, trapped. Something in him snapped and a red-hot anger surged through his body.
He pushes Benny out of the booth and hastens to your side, stepping between you and the stranger. “Do we have a problem here?” he asked, gruffly.
The guy let’s go of your arm much to your relief, but he doesn’t back up. “Nope, we’re all good here, you can keep moving,” the man slurred.
“Come on, Will, let’s go,” you said, pulling his hand, “The beer’s here, help me carry it.”
Will gave the drunk man an absolute death glare. You tug on his hand again, “Come on, I’m thirsty,” you said, pleading gently.
Will turns and sees your pleading eyes and he softens. He grabs the pitcher and follows you back to the table. Benny slides into the corner to make room for you both.
You try to tune back into the conversation, but you’re distracted by the set of Will’s jaw and the tension radiating off of him. You nurse your beer and aren’t sure how the pitcher drains so quickly when neither you, nor Will, nor Maria are indulging yourselves much.
When the pitcher is nearly drained, Will leans over and whispers in your ear, “Are you ready, I’ll take you home.”
You nodded and he took your hand and stood up. You turned back to the table, “It was really great to meet you guys.”
Maria stands and gives you a hug, “Our pleasure, see you soon,” she said.
Frankie shakes your hand and Benny gives you a bear hug before Will leads you out of the bar and to the truck.
You step outside and the cold breeze sends a shiver through you. Will notices and when he opens your door for you, he pulls a zip up sweater from the back and drapes it over your shoulders. You inhale deeply catching his scent trapped in the fabric feeling warm.
Will is completely silent as he wraps you up and gets you settled in your seat. He drives in silence also, keeping his hands to himself this time. You sneak glances his direction and notice he white knuckles the steering wheel and grinds his jaw as he drives. He pulls up in front of your building and turns off the truck.
“I had a nice time tonight, thanks for bringing me,” you said, breaking the silence.
“Are you okay?” he asks, not looking at you.
“What do you mean?”
“Your arm, did he hurt you?” he asked, strained.
“No, I’m fine, I’ve dealt with worse,” you shrug.
He shakes his head, “I’m sorry,” was all he said.
“You didn’t do anything wrong.”
“Right,” he trails off.
“Hey, look at me,” you demand.
He doesn’t so you reach across the console and grab his hand, “I had a great time, don’t let that guy ruin what was a perfect date.”
He looks at you with his sad, blue eyes. “Really, perfect, huh?”
You smile, “Yes. I like your friends, Maria and I are going to have lunch next week,” you said plainly. “Maybe we could double date with her and Frankie sometime,” you suggest.
He smiles back, “Double date? You’re going to see me again?”
“I’d like to.”
He lifts his hand to your cheek and gently brushes his thumb across your cheekbone.
“Let me walk you to your door.”
You close your eyes and lean your head into his hand before he drops it to get out. You lead him to your front door with his hand on your lower back.
You stop at your door and hold your keys in your hand, hesitating.
“I owe you a makeup first date,” he says.
“I said I liked our first date, trust me, I meant it,” you said looking up at him.
“Okay, then let me take you on a second - are you free tomorrow night?” he asks.
“Yeah, I’d like that,” you couldn’t contain the eagerness in your voice.
He brings his hands to your hips and looks deep into your eyes and you just can’t help yourself. You put your hands on his chest and push your lips to his. He is a little surprised, but he smiles into your lips and the grip on your hips gets a little tighter as he pulls you in close.
You open your mouth slightly to sigh into him as you grab a handful of his shirt in your hands and pull him closer to your body. He rubs his thumbs across your hip bones and runs his tongue gently across your lips, his hot breath sending tingles through your whole body.
You jump when your neighbour opens their door and breaks your kiss.
“Excuse me,” they say as they slip past you two.
You drop your head to Will’s chest with a laugh and he wraps his arms around you for a tight hug. He kisses the top of your head.
“I’ll pick you up tomorrow for dinner,” he said, reluctantly, pulling away.
You sneak another gentle kiss to his lips before you say, “I can’t wait.”
Saturday comes as it always does, but today you have a date. Plus you have an idea, a bold, lustful idea. You search through your drawers and at the very bottom you find the lingerie set you bought a little while ago and have yet to have the opportunity to debut. You were the first to admit you often bought clothes and trinkets online you didn’t need without a real purpose, but the habit paid off enough times to enable your impulses.
Instead of returning to the date outfit idea you had on Friday, you instead dressed in the lingerie set and pulled over it the sweater Will never took back from you last night. You left it unzipped, draping over your scantily clad body. You hoped Will would be onboard with your new plan for your second date, and wouldn’t mind skipping the restaurant again.
Will pulled up in front of your place determined not to show you his dark side again tonight. He let some of it slip out last night and it scared him, embarrassed him. You were so kind, so gentle, he knew you could never be with someone with his temperament so he had to be careful, continue his repression coping mechanisms and hope he can maintain control long enough to earn your affection.
He checked his watch and even though he was exactly 12 minutes early he couldn’t wait a second longer to see you and walked up to your door. He knocked and when you opened the door his jaw dropped and without even a hello, he crashed his lips into yours.
You felt Will’s breath hot and warm on your skin as he traced his lips down your jaw. You opened the door and before you could even say hello you saw Will lick his lips before he wrapped you in his arms and kissed you deeply. You were thrilled to get the exact reaction you had planned.
He pulled his lips from yours  and looked into your eyes, “Hey.”
“Hello,” you said before you kissed him quickly, “I thought we’d stay in tonight.”
Will’s eyes flashed with lust as he picked you up by your thighs and wrapped your legs around his waist. He pushed his lips against yours as he held you close. When he broke the kiss he said, “Are you sure? I’m happy to take you out; I want to.”
“I know, and you're so sweet,” you kissed him, “But I don’t need anything fancy, I just want you.”
He walked you over to the couch and you kept your legs clamped tight around his waist and he kissed you so earnestly your chest welled.
He sat gently on the couch and held you by your hips as you sat in his lap. You nibbled on his lower lip before you gently pushed your tongue in his mouth with a sigh.
You dropped your hands to his shirt and worked your way down his buttons and pushed it off his hulking shoulders. You groaned at the sight of his rippling chest and ran your fingers over the hard muscles there. He shivered under your touch and you felt his erection through his jeans twitch.
“We don’t have to go any farther if you don’t want to,” Will said breathless
“You’re sweet William Miller,” you slipped his sweater off, “But I don’t wanna stop. I want you to fuck me.”
His hands trail up the sides of your body and up to your chest and he pulls down your bra to reveal your breasts. He peppers them with soft kisses before he takes one of your nipples in his mouth and sucks gently.
You drop your head back and moan. You grab a handful of his short hair at the base of his neck and pull gently as he slips a hand to your thigh and traces simple patterns on your sensitive skin. You rock your hips against his, craving friction.
He runs his finger along the edge of your panties teasing you slowly. “Bedroom?” he asked.
He locked eyes with him and saw his crystal blue ones hungry for you, his pupils blown wide. You slipped off his lap and led the way down the hall to your modest bedroom.
He held your hand and watched you walk ahead of him. He watched your ass as you walked and felt his erection hard against his leg trapped in his pants. When you stopped at the foot of your bed and turned to face him he took your face in his hands. He looked at you and said what he felt, unable and unwilling to stop himself; “You’re so beautiful.”
He ran his fingers down your shoulder and helped you step out of your lingerie, trailing gentle kisses down your body. He felt you tremble under his lips and it made him feel warm all over.
He was down on his knees as he looked up at you, “Can I touch you?”
“Yes,” you whimpered, “Please touch me.”
He gently ran one finger through your wet folds, and he groaned needy when he felt how wet you already were for him. He slipped one finger into your entrance and traced his lips across the skin of your hips. He removed his finger and brought it to his lips to taste you and you tasted so good. He was overcome with desire as he led you to the end of your bed and sat you down.
You shimmied to the head of your bed, watching Will follow and crawl up your body. He had pushed his jeans down his legs leaving him naked except his briefs. You saw his bulge through the thin fabric and gulped, he was big you could tell and you were desperate to touch him.
Your thoughts immediately went blank when he pressed his lips to your clit and sucked gently. You gasped and bucked your hips into his mouth.
“Did that feel good, sweetie?” he asked with a sly grin.
“Yea- Yeah,” you whimpered.
“Good, I want you to feel good,” he said before he buried himself between your thighs. He thrust two fingers inside of you and brushed that sweet spot inside you as he sucked and licked your clit expertly. He was gentle and took his time. You moaned his name and gripped the sheets as you reached your peak.
“I’m - I’m gonna cum,” you gasped and he sucked your clit and pumped his fingers into you. You came hard on his face and your hands grabbed tufts of his short hair as you pushed his head into your heat as he lapped up everything you gave him.
You fell back on the pillows gasping, your walls fluttering around his fingers as he pulled them from you. You watched as he licked his lips, cleaning up your mess. He had some of your wet in his beard and the sight was incredibly sexy.
You reached for him and pulled him into a kiss. You could taste yourself on his lips and feel his smile. You didn’t break the kiss as you tried to shove his underwear down, but struggled, which caused you both to chuckle.
“Let me help you with that,” he stands and pulls his own underwear off and tosses them off the side of the bed. He pauses, “I left a condom in my truck -”
“Don’t worry, I’m safe,” you said, “I have an implant and I’ve been tested since the last time -” you leave the rest unsaid.
“Me too, are you sure?” he asks and you nod eagerly, reaching up to pull him down to you
He crawls on top of you, and traces his finger across your hip and caresses your ass as he lifts your leg around his waist.
“This was a much better idea than dinner,” he said as his blue eyes met yours and you could see the sincerity in his eyes and your heart fluttered. You reached between you to grip his penis in your hand and guide him to your entrance.
“Make love to me,” you plead.
He nearly cums from that alone, but he holds on. He pushes into you slowly, feeling your wet pussy stretch around his dripping cock. He rests his weight on his forearms and hovers above you as he thrusts in and out of you. He is completely lost in you as you meet his gaze and run your fingers up his arms and across his chest.
You lift your leg and he props it over his shoulder, his thrusts deeper with the new angle and you see stars. Still supporting most of his weight off you, he shifts to free one hand and rubs your clit to match his thrusts.
“Oh fuck,” you moan, breaking eye contact and dropping your head back in complete bliss.
“Cum again for me, sweetie,” he whispers in your ear before he nips at your exposed throat.
Your orgasm crashes over you and you flutter around his cock. You moan his name and he cums with a gentle grunt. He pulls out of your sensitive cunt and you feel his cum start to drip out of you.
He flops down on the bed beside you and pulls you close into his chest, both of you panting spent and satisfied.
You stay there, with his arms around you as you trace mindless trails across the skin on his sweat slicked chest, until your tummy grumbles with hunger. You laugh, “Sorry, I don’t usually skip dinner.”
He kisses the top of your head, “I’m not off to a great start, amateaur fighting, and skipping dinner, not exactly the most romantic start to a relationship.”
“Relationship?” You teased.
Will clammed up you felt him tense beneath you. You raise yourself up to look him in the eyes, “I like the sound of that.”
He pulls you in for a kiss and your tummy grumbles again.
“I’m going to feed you, I swear. I just need a minute, then we can get dressed. We might still make our reservation,” he said, pulling away from you.
“Or, we could order a pizza and you could stay naked,” you suggested, pulling him back down.
He smiles at you, “Only if you promise not to get dressed either, I’m not finished with you yet.” He pulls you on top of him and into a deep kiss.
You can’t help but think this was the best second date you’ve ever been on.

Saved by the Devil (13/?) - Thomas Shelby
Summary: Its time for Epsom, what could go wrong? (Sorry about my summaries they are terrible)
Paring: Tommy Shelby x Fem!reader (romantic)
Warning: S*xual Assault  There is a  scene where the reader is put in uncomfortable position with the general. Reader takes the place of Lizzie in luring the General. And stuff does go down but i was not graphic in writing it cause i was a bit uncomfortable writing anything beyond what i did write and i didn't want to trigger anyone. When the scene does come up i will put a another warning to let you know.
A/N: Hello, this chapter was so so so fun to write. I am so excited for all of you to read and hopefully tell me what you think cause i think this just might be one of my favorite chapters so far... Have a lovely night and see you soon :)
It was time. And for the first moment in your life you were beyond scared. It didn’t show as you got into the back seat the Shelby boys, Arthur and John, in front. No sign of Thomas Shelby anywhere.
“Boys, its good to see you.” You say genuinely. You hadn’t seen them since the last little mission at the horse auction. This time though will be different, you had a lovely knife strapped to your thigh. All your injuries healed and you were beyond prepared for this. You liked the brothers, though you didn’t know them too well. They seemed to take kindly to you too as they nodded at your statement and asked how you were.
The ride felt short. Though it had to have been longer since you were far from London. You didn’t even know what you were thinking about the entire time. You knew that Thomas was waiting for the three of you and more. You weren’t sure if you were ready to face him. The other night when you guys had almost-
You shake your head of the memory. Remembering that you were just a second choice in all this. Grace had rejected him. Then he called you and like a dog you came running. You didn’t know what was wrong with you. But never again would that happen. He didn’t want you and neither did you. And after all this was done, you would never have to see each other again.
 You already had word with Trinity, you were leaving tomorrow. Everything was planned and ready to go. Thomas never told you about a new passport or id, you had requested. But you couldn’t wait for him. The nightmares were getting worse and you swore that when you talked on the phone the past week, you could hear breathing on the other line. There was no time to waste, it was time to go.
 The two brothers and you head up to the front of the Epsom gates, there you see Tommy Shelby and the rest of the gang. His aunt Polly in attendance eyeing you up and down but no saying a word. Her stare this time not making you nervous, instead you see it filled with curiosity.
 “Alright everyone’s, here,” Thomas says not making eye contact with you as he claps his hands together, “here’s the agenda.”
 And he takes everyone down to the plan, leaving out of course the part of the assassination of the general. All he says is that he will provide a distraction for everyone in order to take Sabini racetrack licenses. No one asks questions as he finishes the meeting. Everyone scatters to different parts as they enter the races.
 “(Y/n)” you hear your name fall out of his mouth. You look at each other and theres a pause. There’s million things unsaid at this moment that you both want to say. But don’t.
 “Keep an eye out.” He finally says moving past you, disappearing in the crowd.
 And that’s what you do. You keep an eye out. You thought you might have more significance on this day but maybe not. Maybe this is all you get to do. You remember back then when you had worked for your father. The man had always let you in on the action, no matter how dangerous. You didn’t care either because that was life, it was normal for you. Your mother, rest her soul, was the only one who had ever fought for you to stay home, go to school, date and live normal. But she never got her way.
 You watched some of the peaky blinder, the ones that you could pin point walk around the arena. They all were tailing some of Sabini’s men which you have seen maybe one or twice. You tried to keep an eye out for Sabini but couldn’t find the man anywhere. You did see an inspector Campbell, the man who had brutally beat you not too long ago. You stare hard at him remembering the moments as if it was yesterday.
 “Got a vendetta against the man?”
 You turn around and come face to face with Polly, she smokes a cigarette like a royalty into the air. Her eyes never leave the inspectors either. You can see the pain and rage in her eyes. You don’t pry.
 You turn your gaze back on the filthy man who walks with his cane, laughing and smiling with the people in the crowd.
 “Men like that shouldn’t be allowed to walk on this earth.” You say.
 She nods and for a split second there seems to be a connection between the two of you with your shared pain and hatred for the man. You both don’t say anything else as the man leaves out of your views.
Polly leaves first, without saying any other words. You stay in you spot scanning the crowd. Probably taking your job a bit too serious.
You can hear the laughter and cheerful cries of everyone. The experiment in the arena could be felt by everyone. You spot military men in a group together laughing and talking. You know that the tallest one is the general from the photos Thomas had showed you.
You also see a blonde curls and pink hat looking lost among the sea of people. It was a face you had only recently come to known. Grace. You leave your spot feeling the embarrassment from the other night all over again. You wonder around the place feeling bored and just wanting to leave.
“(y/n)?” a tall man who looked to be a preacher came toward you. You had never met him before.
 “yes?” you say cautiously, remembering your in a public space, no ones gonna do anything.
 “Tommy’s looking for you.” He says.
 “what does he want?” you ask. The man just shrugs. And you sigh and follow him through the crowd.
 Thomas stands on top of the staircase, looking anxious and pale.
 “Found her boss.” The man says leaving you with him.
 “Alright, good. (Y/n) come on. And unbutton the first two buttons.” He demands flicking the end of his cigarette he had just finished.
 “Excuse me?” you say crossing your arms and standing still.
 Thomas stares at you and looks baffled at your disobedience as if this was his first time meeting you.
 “Please, (Y/n). I’ll explain inside.” His tone quitter and pleading.
 You follow him but don’t unbutton anything of yours. He leads you into a room that looks like only the rich and royalty would eat here. You felt out of place immediately. You both don’t talk as you sit across from one another. You watch him put another cigarette in his mouth. He doesn’t meet your eyes as he talks.
 “Look, I didn’t want to ask you this…”
 “Just tell me, no need to prolong it.”
 “I need you to get him isolated.”  You hear his words and double meaning behind them. You can feel your stomach turning in disgust of what’s he asking you. Your face is kept neutral as you talk.
 “What happened to following him till he was alone to piss?” You ask
 “Doesn’t matter.”
 “Look, I’m not-“
 He grabs your hand across the table and holds it tightly. It burns but you don’t let go. You stare at your intertwined hands.
 “I don’t want you to do this. I don’t want to think of you anywhere alone with him. But right now, I trust you and only you to do this. Please. Or else I’m fucked.”
You wanted to be snarky and petty. You wanted to say “Ask Grace”. You wanted to say screw you and leave. You wanted to slap him or kick him. But you saw the sincerity in his voice. You saw the fear in his eyes that he always seemed to hide.
 “okay fine. Ill do it.” You say.
 His grip doesn’t soften as he continues to hold you. “Thank you.” He says softly.
 Thomas leaves you in the fancy room by yourself. He went over details of where to lure over the general. It was a place that would be very private, no witnesses. Thomas said that he would be there in 15 minutes, he promised that nothing would happen to you. You could tell he wanted to keep that promise but you weren’t sure if he could.
You saw the general at another table with other military men. He noticed you right away. His eye never leaves your figure as you sat by yourself.
 ‘too easy’ you thought to yourself as the general himself came over to you.
 He introduced himself, kissed your hand like a gentleman might, and sat where Thomas was not minutes ago. It was light conversation before you decide to break it. There was no other way to lure him, other than sex. And that what you did. Pretending to be a prostitute wasn't hard. You had been around some your whole life. You knew the lingo and prices and tricks. But not everyone could do it. You knew that. As you took the mans wandering hand off your knee from under the table and guided him away from the fancy room. You took him down hallways and corridors, trying to properly remember the map Thomas had shown you.
                                           *********Warning*********
“Where are you taking me?” The general asks flirtatiously.
 “Somewhere private.” You answer.
 Finally you found the spot of no witness and people. It was quite and literally no one around. You feel the Generals hot mouth on your neck, biting at you. You fake a giggle at the action but your stomach was turning in disgust. You took a quick glance at your watch. You got here too early. 5 more minutes until Thomas was here.
 You can feel the generals fingers wander to the hem of your dress, rushing to pull it up. You push it down and step away from him, laughing a bit nervously at the contact.
 “Don’t be a tease now, love.” He says
 “I just us to take our time.” You lie and smile sweetly. You had never been in this position before and you were very nervous. You could feel your hands shaking as you tried to gain control hoping to stop  it.
“I don’t have time.” The general says grabbing you harshly and turning you around.
 “Wait, wait.” You say feeling violated like never before.
 You kick him hard in the stomach, causing him to step backward from you. You run to the other wall, wanting nothing but distance from the guy.
 “You bitch.” He sneers coming toward you with an ugly smile.
 You pull you knife out of your thigh holster and point it toward him. He stops upon seeing a weapon. And then he laughs.
 “How adorable.” He says
 You glance at your watch again. Its past the time Thomas should have been here. You feel a bit of dread poor over you. You don’t know how you were gonna fight off some military man. Your skills weren’t up to par on his, you knew that. Maybe enough to cause damage and run. Maybe.
 He stalks toward you with all the confidence in the world. His face gives it off like this a game for him, he likes that you’re not giving in, that you’re fighting against him. It’s an inconvenience but he likes a challenge.
 You step forward, slashing him across the cheek. He doesn’t react to it as he grabs your wrist. His giant hand pushing it back at an odd angle. You try to use your other hand to hit him but it does nothing. You’re forced to drop the knife. He pushes you against the wall. His eyes animalistic and you cry in pain as your head makes contact, hard with the wood.
 You see black spots around your vision as you hear the man say something to you, you don’t know what. His hands roam around your body but you focus on anything but. You hear the zipping of pants and your hearts begins to race at the thought of whats to come next.  Tears slip down your eyes as you think of no one coming to save you.
 “Russell!” You hear a familiar voice yell.
 The general leans off your body, you slide down on the wall looking up to see Thomas with his pistol pointed at the general. The gun clicks.
 Nothing happens.
 “Fuck!” Thomas yells as the General rushes over to Thomas, the pair beginning to fight each other.
 You scramble to your feet, feeling awfully dizzy. You see Thomas gun on the floor. The men continue fighting each other. The general trying to reach his gun on his hip.
 You take Thomas’s gun aiming it, but nothing was coming out. It was jammed.
 You see the general push his finger into Thomas eye, you can see the gun finally in his hand. Thomas knows it too as he grabs at that arm hoping to take it from him. You think fast kicking the general’s legs, making him fall.  The gun that was in his hand now on the floor. Which Thomas quickly grabs aiming it right under the generals chin and shooting without hesitation.
 The two of you pant heavily as it finally is over. Thomas looks over at you and his shoulder slump.
 “Are you okay?” he asks.
 “I’m fine,” you say, forgetting how badly you must look with your tear stained face, “Where were you?”
 He shakes his head, “I’m sorry,” He reaches a hand toward you wiping away the tears that were still falling, “You’re crying.”
You didn’t know what to say as he strokes your cheek, catching runaway tears that you had no control over. You try to steady your breathing, staring into his steel blue eyes.
 “I will never ask you to do anything like that again.” He says.
 You nod at his words, touching the hand that’s on your face and gently pulling it away.
 “We need to go separate ways. Or else we’re suspects.” You say.
 “Meet me by the where- where they take the bets ay?”
 He stares at you like he wants to say more but again, he doesn’t. You both walk separate directions. You pick up your knife on the way out, leaving the rest of the crime scene alone.
  You walk down the way to the betting place. You can see all the police and military men rushing to where you had just come from. You know the peaky blinders, now, were threatening Sabinis men, burning the licenses at this moment.
 You stand by yourself, waiting until you see a familiar face once again. This time she notices you too. The beautiful blonde walks toward you.
 “Hello.” She says.
 “Hi,” You say, “is youre looking for-“
 “I’m not. I’m just here to place my own bet.” She says holding a ticket up.
 You both stand in uncomfortable silence.
 “I did see him earlier,” She says eyeing you from the side. You look forward as she speaks, “I professed my love, told him I would leave my husband for him and everything.”
 You swallow a huge lump in your throat that you didn’t even realize was there. She continues speaking.
 “He told me no,” You turn to her baffled as you always assumed, he was head over heels in love with the beautiful Grace, “I mean I known for awhile what his answer would be but I had to give it one last try. Oh don’t look surprised.”
 “I- “
 “You should count yourself lucky. He doesn’t love too often but when he does,” She takes a pause and her eyes though are focused on you don’t seem to be looking at you. Almost as it she’s lost in a memory. She sighs, “He just really does.”
 Before you can say anything else to the woman, she leaves with a smile. A headache begins to form on the back of your head where you had hit your head earlier. You leave the crowded betting room, the noise and smoky air becoming too much for you.
 You’ll find Mr. Shelby later. With all that has happened today, it was becoming a lot and you needed a moment to just process it all. As you walk alone you spot two men holding a man by his two arms. He had a cap on like the other peaky blinders. You follow them Noticing another man leading them. You finally see his face.
 Your mouth talks before your you can think.
 “Thomas!” You cry out.
 His head jolts up looking for the source of your voice. The men bring his neck down, keeping his face looking at the ground. All of the worst things begin to swirl around your mind. The plan didn’t work, they caught him, the inspector double crossed him, Sabini had men ready to take him out. As well as moments, the two of you had shared that now were going to be just past memories of what ifs and unsaid words that should have been spoken.
You follow them as best as you can, watch them as they put him in the back of some car, a gun pointed towards him as they close the doors. You couldn’t help him. You watched the car drive away feeling useless and guilty. Wishing to have done more. You see his cap on the ground and pick it up. You look around for someone who could save the day but everyone was in their own happy world. And you were holding on to a hat feeling a loss like never before.

********************
You'd been working with the basterds for a while now as a nurse, though you were an agent for the MI6 once. There was a botched mission, and in order to keep yourself alive, you had to leave the MI6. But, your department also happened to owe a favor to the OSS. For all intents and purposes you were considered a ghost. You did not exist in either organizations' paper work. Anything that could hint at your transfer was heavily redacted. Your aliases and IDs were burned, and you were on your way. You stayed behind the scenes as much as possible. Your mission was now  to be the basterds' saving grace.
You didn't talk much, but you weren't quite on the same level as Hugo. But, if any of the basterds could get you to laugh a little, it was Donny.
You were sitting on your own, looking intently at a locket, enclosed in your fist. Donny sat by you, "What'cha got there?" You looked away for a moment, smiling, but shook your head.
Donny's voice was softer when he noticed the locket. To him, (and most people) a locket like that meant there was already someone out there with your heart. He respected that, but he couldn't take seeing you upset. "Shoulda guessed." He chuckled, trying to soften you up a bit. "He got a name?" You shook your head, smiling a little. You were amused. "No. It's not like that." You didn't say anything else, and for once, Donny didn't either. You just sat there together, and he wondered what that meant. In war, most of the possibilities were grim. *********** Time went by, you marched through the forest with the basterds, near the edge of a village. Things had been too quiet lately, especially knowing there was a patrol you had been looking for. You found them, as you always did. The nazis had cornered a family, threatening the life of a child, who was maybe three or four years old. You heard the mother's screams, saw the father being beaten. You didn't think twice, you jumped in between them all, blowing your own cover and that of the basterds. You acted while the boys still hadn't realized what was happening. You were nearly killed, but Donny and Hugo rushed in to help. In the end, you saved the family. Aldo had the nazi scalps to prove it. But, he wasn't happy. You had jumped in without a loaded gun, and no knife. You were the nurse, but you were also a basterd. You could not be replaced. None of them could. "Of all the stupid, wreckless shit I seen done by soldiers, this is damn near at the top of the list. And if there's one thing we ain't need way out here, L/N, it's goddamn impulsiveness." You sighed, lowered your head, and rested your hands against a dusty table top in your hideout. He was right. But you couldn't help it. You had to save that family. That kid had a whole life ahead. You couldn't stand by and wait for Aldo’s orders. Aldo sighed, knowing perhaps he had been a little too hard. After all, you did save a family, as the basterds should, granted, you could have been a little more prepared. "Y/n, there ain't many nurses out here we can trust. We lose you, we lose any chance of us makin' it to the end. Y'understand?" "Perfectly." You murmured, still not fully willing to analyze what had happened that day. *****
Not long after, you were all sharing a drink together in your hideout. After everyone had gone to bed, you hung around on your own, with your locket in your hand. "Y/n?" You needed to say it. You didn't know why. You didn't care if you sounded like a coward, or like a cliche. "I've got to get home, Donny." Donny was caught off guard. From what he knew, you were one of the best basterds. It never crossed his mind that you'd ever say something like that. But he understood. You were all only human, at the end of the day. "We all do, kid." You were silent again, and he said, "If it's about today...you did what anyone would have done. Aldo didn't mean it. We just can't afford to lose ya. We lost Andy, Simon, and Michael. We can't lose any more basterds. That's all he meant by it." You shook your head, "You don't understand..." "Let me." His hand rested on yours, and he looked into your eyes. "He was just a baby, Donny. Three, maybe four at most. What was I supposed to do?" "Y/n." He kept his voice low, warning with his eyes that there were unkind ears around. But, he was also trying to calm you. "You did the right thing." You sighed, your grip around the locket loosened, and you set it on the table. "Go ahead." Donny raised his eyebrow for a moment, then reached for the locket. The moment he looked at the tiny, oval, black and white photograph, his heart broke. It was a picture of a baby. "She'll be four years old in a month." You smiled softly, though your heart was breaking, "She ain't seen me since. This is the only picture of Abby that I have. If I go back at all...she won't remember me." "What? No! Y/n, don't say that, she will! She's...your..." Donny was still processing it, but he managed to say, "You're a fucking hero, Y/n. You're unforgettable..." Donny meant every word. "How can I be when I was never there for her at all? They took her from me, they said I was an unfit mother." You looked down, "I was young. I wasn't married. Her father was killed in the Pacific, he never had a chance to know. I had nothing. Our town was bombed, I couldn't take care of her the way she needed. I couldn't keep her safe, Donny." You looked at him with teary eyes and he shook  his head, "Hey, don't say that," as he wrapped his hands around your shoulders. "You did keep her safe. You did the hardest thing a mother could do! She's safe because of that. She's waiting for you. You'll get her back. I'll make sure. I promise." "Don't say things you don't mean." "I don't." When you looked at him you knew he meant that. You couldn't help but cry into his shoulder, and he didn't mind. As the years went on, you became closer to all the basterds, but in Donny you confided the most. You realized then, it was because  you loved him the most. It was 1945 now. Wicki and Hugo had been hurt. Bridget hardly had any hope in any of the basterds, but she asked if any of them could speak a language other than English. You spoke Italian. (A lot better than Aldo did, at least.) Donny turned around. He was going to volunteer himself. He didn't want to lose you. He couldn't imagine a life without you. He couldn't lose you, and he knew he wasn't the only one. "Y/n, you can't." "It's the only way, Donny." "No, it's not." "You promised," you didn't have to remind him. You were their only clear chance at pulling off the Italian charade. If the basterds failed operation Kino, the war would go on, maybe even for years. Donny knew that. He knew how much was at stake. So the mission went on. You went with him, Bridget, Omar, and Aldo to the cinema. Things didn't go as planned, but with the basterds, they never really did. "Donny. Don't do this." He looked at you with wide eyes, his  voice was soft for a moment, "I'm sorry, Y/n." At the very last second, he locked you out of the theater. You pushed against the door as Donny gripped it, "Y/n don't make this harder than it has to be." "Donny let me in." "You know I can't do that." He looked you in the eyes, but he couldn't bring himself to say it. "Don't..." You couldn't say goodbye either. "Donny don't do this." "I promised." He pushed you and locked the door as he ran back through the inferno to find Omar. When smoke rose to the sky and ash and glass covered the street, you thought it was the last you'd ever see of Donny. But it was only the beginning. When you gave up, you tried to force back tears as your knees grew weak. Then you saw the impossible. Omar and Donny limped out together. "Donny!? Omar!" "Promised I'd make sure, didn't I?" He chuckled as he sat down by you, as the three of you watched the war end right before your eyes. ***** Donny couldn't wait to see his family, but he figured he'd waited so long, he could wait just a little longer. It was the day the basterds were receiving the medal of honor, but Donny was standing with you in a train station somewhere in the countryside of England. He refused to be there if Hans Landa was receiving the medal of honor. Hugo was 100% planning a million ways to get rid of Hans, and a million more to get away with it, but...well, once a basterd, always a basterd.
 Anyway, Donny figured he'd get his in the mail, though he did hope his little brother didn't open it before he got home. You wouldn't get one at all, because, well, for all intents and purposes, you were a "ghost,". You didn't mind. You didn't care for crowds.
Besides, you just couldn't wait another day. You called in every favor you could to make this happen. Donny was there for you every step of the way, just like he said he would be.
This should have been goodbye. You were all flown from France to Britain when some of the injured basterds had healed enough. From there, they'd go to Washington D.C for the ceremony, even Archie and Bridget were going. After that, they would all go home. Hirschberg hadn't really thought things through and asked, "What could be more important than a medal of honor right now?" He figured you could at least be there one last time for them. He wasn't really that good at saying goodbye. He never had been. Omar rolled his eyed, and "Dumbass." "What?!" Hirschberg turned in confusion, and Smitty said, "Her kid, that's what!" "Ohhh..." He nodded, finally realizing as he hugged you. "At least promise to visit?" "I will," You smiled. You figured you could make it to a basterd reunion every once in a while. Besides, you'd already promised all the other basterds you would. You watched them all go. Then it was just you and Donny. He looked around excitedly at the city, "Where we headin', kid?" He grinned in excitement. There was not a hint of regret. He really wanted to stay by your side no matter what, and it broke your heart to love a man so much. He'd have to go eventually... "I thought you were just going to stay to say goodbye..." "Well....I could walk you to the train station!" You smiled, "But you have a flight at noon!" "Ah, I can just run back." He shrugged, "Come on, doll." He walked you to the train station, but then convinced you he could stay with you till you got to the country side. He convinced himself he'd just fly home some other day.
**** He looked around at the blue sky, the fluffy white clouds scattered. The incessant hum of overhead planes and military engines was replaced by the chirps of birds and wind in the trees. "Thought England's always gray and rainy," he laughed, and you said, "Not always," You smiled, but your breath escaped your reach,   "Not now..." You saw her.  You walked toward her, through the crowd. She wasn't the tiny baby you had to give up years ago, but she was still your little girl. You knew that smile anywhere. She saw you before the social worker did. "Mama!" The tiny toddler ran to you before you could even process it all. How she knew you? Well, you'd later find out she slept with a picture of you under her pillow. That picture and a teddy bear you gave her when she was a day old were the only things in the world she could call her own. "Y/n?" Meanwhile, Donny turned around searching for you. He ran through the crowd, and slowed down, and walked with a smile when he figured out what had happened. Abby was basically a tiny version of you, though her eyes were a different color than yours, they had the same light in them. Donny had told himself he wouldn't stay. You had a family to care of. You had a whole life in England. He had a life to get back to in Boston, too. He told himself that for years. It had some truth to it, but you quickly became his world when there were days the sun refused to shine. But, now that the war was over, how could he forget all that you were to him? Just like that? He told himself he'd just walk you to the station. Then he told himself he'd just stay for the train ride, remembering England being nice on the brief time he had been there before being sent to France. But now that it was time to go, he was out of excuses. "Donny, this is Abby. Abby, this is Donny." Abby giggled and saluted him, like she'd seen so many do on newsreels. Donny laughed as he saluted her back, "Cutest soldier you got there, Y/n." You chuckled as you picked Abby up, never wanting to let go, though you realized you couldn't let go of Donny's hand either. "Miss L/n." The social worker waited with a patient smile with a stack of papers. "RIght then," You explained to Abby you would only be a minute, then looked to Donny. You didn't even have to ask. He was a natural, after all, he had  a little brother and plenty of little cousins. He had Abby laughing and takling in no time while you signed the papers.
"Donny..." He was sitting on the ground with Abby sitting by him, watching the trains go by as he told her a story that had her laughing and your heart melting. He looked up at you, and his heart felt heavy. He was out of excuses to stay. "Would you like to come over for tea?" You smiled as you picked Abby up. "Tea?" He was caught off guard for a moment, but he smiled and nodded. It was a long trip back to London. Even longer counting the cab ride to your place. The war had gone by in a moment with you by his side, but he wondered, what was wartime to a lifetime with you? "That would be nice," He smiled, taking your hand, seeing a lifetime in your eyes. London, Boston, it didn't matter. In that moment, he knew if he went he would never run out of excuses to stay. You and Abby were all the reasons he ever needed.

Poly Tsukkiyama x Fem! Reader

“Y/n, I really don’t get what you’re trying to do.” Tsukishima finally turned to face you.
“It’s okay,” You grabbed his hand encouragingly, “Because I feel the same as you.”
“What are you-”
“Kei, I know you love me. I have never once doubted that. And I wholeheartedly love you, too.” You stated, cutting Tsukki off, “ But I also know that you and Tadashi have been in each other's lives for a long time.”
“Fine.”
“What?”
Tsukishima sighed, running his fingers through his hair. He knew it was better to tell you everything he felt rather than try to keep it in.
 “I have had some minor feelings for Tadashi since highschool. Well, maybe they developed before then, but that was when I accepted them for the first time.” He started to go red.
“I had always thought that they were just background noise in my mind, he’s my best friend of course I have special feelings for him. And then you came along, and I wondered if I had mixed up my feelings.” Tsukki continued. “And then I got to see both of you together every day, and I’m so happy with you, but something did feel missing for the longest time.”
“And the missing link is him.” You put a hand on his shoulder, “I feel the same way. I didn’t realize it at first either until this morning.”
You relayed the events of the coffee shop, and your lunch with Yamaguchi to Tsukki. Making sure to detail your feelings toward the cute freckled boy as well. You and your boyfriend had always been honest and open when communicating with each other and this time was no different.
“I saw you both at lunch today. I felt so jealous I couldn’t be there with you two.” Tsukishima murmured.
You giggled, “Well, I’m glad that I brought this up tonight. I love you, and I’m so happy you feel comfortable enough to confide all this to me.” Kei hummed in agreement.
“So,” you fiddled with Kei’s fingers. “What do you want to do?”
“I want to be with you, y/n. And if you are comfortable with it, I want to include Tadashi in our relationship.”
“I want that too.”
“How are we going to approach him with this whole mess y/n? Tadashi is a little feint of heart; we can’t just attack him with our feelings.”
“Well, we better figure it out now, he’s coming over tomorrow.” You and Tsukki pondered how to introduce Tadashi to the idea that you both liked him. Did he even feel the same? What if he only likes Tsukki in that way? You worried slightly.
“You know, Yams was my first kiss.” Tsukki muttered, trying to lighten the mood after sensing your unease.
“WHAT?”
“Yeah, we did that whole ‘let’s practice so we’ll be ready for our actual first kisses’ thing.” Tsukishima put his hand over his face in embarrassment, internally cringing. You laughed, relieved that the confrontation had gone well, and that your boyfriend trusted you enough to confide in you.
“If it makes you feel better, I definitely fantasized about a threesome with you two when we first met.”
“Oh really,” Tsukki grabbed your hips, pushing you against the counter lightly. “I may have done the same thing…” You felt his growing length press up against your stomach. “I’d love to see what you look like with Tadashi in your mouth while I fuck you.”
“I wasn’t expecting this reaction,” You moaned as Tsukishima started kissing your neck.“You got excited fast, Kei, how often did you dream of the three of us together hmm?” You teased.
“Am I not allowed to lust after the two people I love?” He murmured in your ear. You reached down and started palming Tsukki’s hard crotch. He sucked on your neck as he slithered his fingers towards the waistband of your pants. Your breath hitched as you felt him lower his hand fully into your pants.
Ready to feel the pleasure of Kei’s fingers, you close your eyes in anticipation and spread your legs. The tips of his fingers slowly started massaging your clit, sending shivers up your spine. Tsukishima left wet kisses on your shoulder before opening his mouth to speak. You prepared yourself for whatever smart ass remark he was going to say about how wet you were, when his phone rang.
“Ah, it’s the man of the hour.” Tsukki said, checking the caller ID. He kept rubbing circles on your clit as he picked up the phone. “Hello?”
“Ahhh hi Tsukki! I’m sorry I’m calling so late, I just wondered if you and y/n wanted anything specific from the store for tomorrow. I can pick something up on my way over.”
“Oh, yeah y/n told me you were coming, let me put the phone on speaker.” Tsukishima turned to you, hand still down your pants, fingers creeping closer to your entrance.
“Kei, I swear to god.” You hissed.
“What was that y/n?”
“N-Nothing, hi Tadashi,” you stammered as Tsukkis fingers rubbed your slit. “Uhm, Tsukki and I can make lunch if you want to bring drinks? I-I’m ah.” You covered your mouth as Tsukishima’s fingers entered you, rubbing your weakest spots.
“Drinks sound good! I’ll get some soju and strawberry lemonade!” On the other side of the line. Yamaguchi could sense something was up. Why is y/n whispering..and Tsukki seems to be in a good mood… He tried not to let his thoughts wander somewhere they shouldn’t.
“Thanks Tadashi.” Tsukki spoke over your muffled voice, “See you tomorrow.”
“Yes! Have a good night.” Yamaguchi heard Tsukki set the phone down on the counter, forgetting to press ‘end call’. He knew he should probably be the one to hang up but, he let his curiosity take over.
You and Tsukki’s voices were muffled. Tadashi strained to hear bits and pieces of the conversation.
“Kei! What if he had heard…”
“You would have liked that huh….” Tsukishima teased, “If everything goes right tomorrow, he’ll be hearing this often anyways…”
If what happens tomorrow? Tadashi’s eyes widened, just what are they talking about???? He was ripped from his thoughts as he heard you moan out in pleasure. Yamaguchi felt his heart racing as he listened to your seductive calls for Tsukki.
“Please, enough teasing, take me now.” He heard you demand the tall blonde.
“You want to get fucked on the counter y/n? Pretty naughty of you, but if that’s really what you want…”
“Yes! Oh fuck”
Yamaguchi’s face went red as he realized the gravity of the situation he was in. His two best friends were having sex, and he could hear it all over the still live call. He knew he shouldn’t be getting hard, but he couldn’t help it. By the time he snapped back to reality, his length was fully erect.
The next few moments were a blur for poor Yamaguchi. Thank god he was in the privacy of his bedroom. He lied in bed, dick in hand, pleasuring himself to the accidental voyeurism of his friends.
“Kei, harder! Aaaugn..” Yamaguchi could hear the slapping of skin as Tsukishima railed into you. Your moans were like music to his ears as he stroked himself.
“I can’t wait to share you with Tadashi, y/n, you’re so fucking hot when you get fucked like this.” A small gasp slipped out of Yams’ throat as he suddenly came with one last pump of his hand. The mere thought of sharing you with Tsukki pushed him over the edge.
“Ahn, did you hear that?” Tadashi’s eyes widened as he quickly hung up the phone, praying neither of you noticed. Struggling to catch his breath, he cleaned up the mess he made with his release. Then, the big realization hit him.
WAIT
Hold the fucking phone…
Tsukki said out loud, “share you with Tadashi” to y/n….
Yamaguchi’s eyes widened, heart suddenly palpitating in shock as his mind raced.
What the hell is going on?????

Lost and Found Ch. 2
A/N: Hey guys, just trying my hand out at this fanfic thing. I love reading everyone’s stuff and decided to write something myself. I’m fairly new to Tumblr so any tips or suggestions are highly appreciated. Let me know if y’all like it and would like me to continue. Feedback would be amazing. Thank you and happy reading.
Summary: Sam and Dean meet a young hunter who is a little rough around the edges and they reluctantly take her under their wing. But she might be a little more connected to them that any of them realise.
Word Count: 1.6k
Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Chapter 2
Dean’s first priority after going back to the motel was getting Sam patched up. Y/N went to her own room and got into the shower to get the dingy warehouse stink off of her. The water pressure was abysmal but it got the job done.
She went back to the boys’ room and knocked on the door. Without waiting for a reply, she pushed the door open to see Dean wrapping Sam’s ribs. The younger Winchester clearly thought it was unnecessary if his facial expression was anything to go by, but he let Dean do it anyway. Sam knew better to argue with Dean in his ‘mother-hen’ mode.
“You okay?”
“I’m fine.” Sam could see the guilt in her eyes. If only she had followed orders, Sam wouldn’t have bruised ribs.
“Really, I’m good. I’ve had worse. It’s part of the job. We screw up and we learn. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Now you know better for next time.”
It surprised her that Sam could read her so well after just three days. She remembered their first interaction. She had stopped for a quick bite at a diner when they walked in and sat beside her on the breakfast bar. At first, she had ignored them, going back to studying the case she was in town for. That didn’t last long though, as pieces of their conversation caught her attention quite quickly.
“Do you guys always talk about cases this loudly in the middle of a diner where anyone could easily overhear you?” she had asked them, still looking through her notes, “cause that does not seem like a smart thing to do.”
She had finally looked up and saw them staring at her in disbelief.
“Excuse me?” The shorter one, which she would later learn was Dean, had said.
“You are hunters. Discussing a case as weird as this one out in public. Loudly. I wasn’t even trying to eavesdrop. Like I said – not smart.”
“You’re a hunter? You’re like 12!” Dean had exclaimed. He had obviously been exaggerating. For one, she was 15, not 12; and two, Dean was still under the impression that she was over 17 at least. She couldn’t blame him. She didn’t look like an average 15-year-old and she had never bothered to correct him anyway.
They had gone on to argue over who would work on the case, and when neither party backed down, Sam had suggested they just all work together. The rest had been history.
She was jerked out of her thoughts when she registered what Sam had said.
“Wait, next time?”
Not happening. She liked the Winchesters and yes, they were not bad as far as hunting partners went. But there was a reason she hunted alone. She didn’t like people in her space. She knew that as soon as they figured out that she was a 15-year-old orphan, they would ship her off somewhere, ‘for her own good’. It had happened way too many times before for her to trust anyone, no matter how nice they seemed. She had been put into foster care three times on the behest of ‘concerned adults’ before. The homes were so bad that she preferred the streets and ran away the first chance she got. She had been on her own since she was 11 and had practically raised herself even before that. She didn’t need anyone to tell her what was best for her.
“Sorry boys, I prefer to hunt alone. Don’t get your hopes up for another team-up anytime soon,” she said before Sam could open his mouth again.
Dean’s jaw ticked but she could see him forcing the tension out, in hopes of reasoning with her. He knew that telling her what to do wouldn’t work, he had noticed that she had problems with authority.
“Look, we have this friend. She’s a sheriff and she’s got two other girls living with her who are either hunters or aware of the life. If you want –”
Dean knew that they had messed up. Y/N’s face grew hard as she listened to Sam talk about Jody and the girls. Yes, they had called her and asked her if she would be willing to take in another stray but Jody had warned them that Y/N didn’t sound like someone who wanted a normal life. Claire had wanted to hunt but she had also wanted a family. Alex had wanted to get out of the life. Both of them had wanted to be there.
He could see that they were losing her. He didn’t understand why he felt so strongly about helping her, but he panicked at the thought of her hunting alone out there. So, he blurted out the first thing that came to his mind – “You could hunt with us!”
Sam paused mid-sentence, looking at his brother incredulously. That was not what they had agreed on. While his brother clearly felt more strongly about helping her, Sam himself had grown quite fond of Y/N and wanted her to be safe. But he also knew that they had too much on their plate to add her into the mix. She’s just be in more danger anyway. They were in the middle of dealing with the darkness – there was no way bringing Y/N into their life would end well. After the way they lost Charlie, Dean should have been the first one to realize that.
Y/N’s face dropped the hard stare it was featuring only to be replaced by a look of surprise. Hunting with the Winchesters was something aspiring hunters dreamed off. They were the big leagues, where the real action was. She’d heard rumors about their dalliances with angels and prophets and monsters from purgatory. So, of course she was surprised when they offered her a chance to play with the big boys. But she knew she couldn’t take them up on it. Specially since Sam didn’t seem too enthusiastic about it either. Which stung – but she understood.
“As tempting as that sounds, I’m good. You guys probably have a lot to deal with anyway if Sam’s face is any indication. I don’t want to be a problem. I’ll get out of your hair and maybe we can team up again if you happen to be on the same case as me.” Y/N didn’t want to get close to people. They just ended up abandoning you sooner or later.
Sam backtracked guiltily, assuring her that they wanted her with them. He didn’t want her in danger but he didn’t want her to feel unwanted either. There was just something about her that made both brothers want to protect her.
“You won’t be,” Dean said firmly. “You’re clearly a good hunter. You figured out the case before us and you were right. You could use some tactical training and work on your combat a little bit. From where I’m standing, you don’t have anyone to teach you either. We can help –”
“You’re telling me you have time to take in a rookie hunter in the middle of dealing with your apocalypse of the year?” she scoffed, raising an eyebrow at Dean.
Sam remained silent, a spectator to the back and forth between his brother and Y/N. He wanted her to come with them. He just didn’t want her to end up dead like every other person they cared about.
Dean switched tactics when enticing her with training didn’t work.
“What about living arrangements? We have a pretty sweet set up in Kansas. It’s like a bat cave. You’d like it there.”
“I manage just fine in motels,” she fibbed just a little bit. Even with fake IDs and fake credit cards, she sometimes had a hard time convincing motels to give her a room. She’d spent more nights in the cold streets than she cared to admit, but it was all just a part of being a hunter and she accepted that. Even the rooms she did get were dingy at best, but she didn’t want their charity.
“Look kid, I know how it works. You can’t lie to me.” She looked away at that.
“What about family? You have anyone we can at-least get you back to?” Dean had just about admitted defeat at this point. Even Sam looked dejected and he hadn’t even exactly wanted her with them in the first place.
At his statement, she jerked, her whole body flinching at the mention of family. The reaction didn’t go unnoticed by either brother.
“Y/N? You alright?” Sam asked when she didn’t say anything for a minute.
“No. No family,” she ignored Sam. “I never knew my father, all my mother said about him was that he was a hunter too. I always assumed he died on the job.”
She was fidgeting with her rings. She did that when she was nervous or uncomfortable, they’d learned.
“What about your mother?” Sam dared to ask softly.
“Dead.” Y/N’s voice was hard which surprised Sam. In the time they’d spent together, she had never seemed cold, but she did right now.
“Killed by a werewolf when I was 11,” she continued in that same emotionless voice, “I’ve been on my own ever since.”
She didn’t ever share anything about her life with other hunters and the fact that she told them this perplexed her, but she couldn’t ignore Sam’s puppy dog eyes.
“I’m sorry kiddo,” Sam said, empathy practically oozing from his voice, “We know what it’s like losing a mother young. It doesn’t get easier.”
“What was her name?” Sam said after a brief pause.
She was silent for a long time. She hadn’t said her name out loud in almost 5 years.
“Sandra,” She finally said softly, the tiniest hint of emotion in her voice. “Sandra L/N.”
Dean froze.
He knew that name.

Christmas break- Fred Weasley x Reader
Request: 84 & 92 from the 2nd prompt list with Fred Weasley
Prompts: 84. “No, mom, don’t tell him/her I said that about him/her!”
92.”I love you in every possible way.”
Word Count: 2k
a/n: The confession scene under the stars was inspired by a fic I read a while ago where Fred proposes under the stars near the burrow! Although I cant remember the name:/
also i’d love some feedback if you guys don’t mind, you can drop it in my asks or inbox or whatever, i feel like my writing is getting a little repetitive
Tumblr media
During Christmas break you had arranged to stay over at the Burrow with the Weasleys. Your family had decided to go on a cruise for your parents anniversary, so Mrs. Weasley gladly took you in for the break. You hadn't told Fred though, you wanted to surprise him. It was actually surprising he hasn't noticed you where keeping it a secret from him. He usually figured out your secrets within 0.2 seconds, having been best friends for the last 5 years, it wast really a surprise. So, just before your parents left for their cruise, they had driven you to Ottery St. Catchpole. Being muggle-born, they where very wary of you using magic.
So, as you pulled up to the burrow, you gave your parents a hug and a quick kiss, saying goodbye. You where far too excited to spend your Christmas break here. You had spent the previous night imagining all the scenarios that could happen over the next few weeks. It made you sad to be honest, knowing that they most likely wouldn't happen. But you could hope. You hurriedly knocked on the Weasleys door, waving a final goodbye as your parents got into the car.
Inside the burrow, Mrs Weasley was cleaning up from cooking, her family sat at the table eating, when she heard the knock on the door, she could only assume was you.
“Aww, Fred get the door please, im busy” Mrs Weasley huffed while all his siblings giggled at the table. Did he miss something? He gave his twin a confused look but brushed it off.
“Who is it, we aren't expecting anyone?” He wondered aloud.
“(Y/N)” She stated promptly, throwing a smile at him, preparing for what he would say next.
“WHAT!” He jumped from his seat. The last thing he wanted was to spend his Christmas break with her. Not in a mean way, he loved her and all but that was the problem. He was in love with her. He usually spent his Christmas fantasizing about what it would be like to be in a relationship with her, love her wholly and fully, have a life with her. He was excited, obviously to spend his Christmas with her, but Christmas meant gifts, then he had to get a gift that conveys ‘Ive been secretly in love with you since the day I lay eyes on you but I don't want to tell you in case I ruin our relationship so im going to wait for any smidgen of a hint that you like me, so I don't screw anything up and if that doesn't come then ill wait it out till you get a boyfriend, then ill cry and eat chocolate with George and try to get over it’ vibes, which was hard.
George interrupted his panicked thoughts. “Yeah! Mum invited her over to tell her all about how you drool all over her and daydream about herrrrr ”
“And how her eyes are so god damn dreamy” Ron and Harry had joined in and soon the whole table was reciting Fred's love lines.
“No! Mum don't tell her I said that about her!” He insisted. This had been going on for around 5 minutes while you where still stood outside, so you gave another quick knock on the door, as it was snowing and bloody freezing.
“Get the door!”
“Yeah, don't want to keep the love of your life waiting” Ron said dreamily, but Fred just threw a bread roll at him. He trudged towards the door, conflicted emotions but heart beating with excitement. He opened the door, there you stood, beanie on, snowflakes in your hair, basking in the moonlight, more beautiful than he had ever seen you. He was snapped from his trance by you, enthusiastically throwing your arms around him.
“Freddie! Surprise!” You hugged him and held tightly, having missed him.
“Blimey” He stumbled back from the force of your hug, but grabbed you protectively. “Its only been a week, you missed me that much?” He was right, your break from Hogwarts came about two weeks before Christmas, meaning one week to go. You subconsciously glanced at your case, wondering if he'd like your present.
“Of course I have Freddie! Couldn't live without my partner in crime!” She stated enthusiastically before they heard George shout from the kitchen. “What about me?!” You two laughed it off. You walked into the kitchen, Fred offering to carry your bags.
“How are my favourite gingers doing, and of course Harry?” They cheered as you walked into the kitchen, they all hugged you one by one, and you thanked Mrs Weasley profusely, but she just brushed it off.
“You'll be in the twins room” She smiled, Ron quietly wolf whistled in the background, causing Harry to laugh and Ginny to smack him on the shoulder, hiding a small smile. Fred nudged you.
“Wanna put your stuff upstairs?” He questioned and you nodded, he grabbed your stuff and started heading upstairs, with whoops and cheers behind you from the boys, while Mrs Weasley tried to calm them down.
When you where close to his room you asked the question that had been on your mind. “What was all the cheering about when they mentioned me sleeping in your room?” You questioned innocently.
“uh...” Fred felt a blush creeping up his neck. “its just, they know we’ll be sleeping in the bed, and you know how boys are”
It had never occurred to you that you'd be sleeping in the same bed, the thought made your heart speed up, you assumed you'd be sleeping on the floor.
“Unless of course you don't want to share a bed, id be fine sleeping on the floor” He said smiling.
“Don't be silly, of course we can sleep in the same bed, come on!” You raced him to the top of the stairs, both laughing like crazy.
The next week leading up to Christmas went crazily quickly. And the first night sleeping in Fred's bed with him was possibly a Christmas miracle, at least that's what it felt like. You guys where cuddled up, obviously George had given you the ‘no shagging while im asleep next to you two’ talk. But honestly, it felt right, being there with him. You tried to convince yourselves you where just friends, but that was never the case.
And so the day of Christmas came, and the entire Weasley family and their guests where so excited. Molly had helped Fred pick out something he knew you'd love. So the crackers where opened and candy canes eaten, and it was time to open the presents, you and Fred had waited last to give yours to each other. After everyone had finished giving gifts, they turned to you two expectantly. You ran to your suitcase, gently picking up the box, and Fred went to get his present. You'd returned to the living room, adorned In your own honorary Weasley jumper, clutching the present.
“Ill give yours first?” You asked, he nodded and you handed over the present. He carefully unwrapped it, savouring every moment. He flipped open the lid, and stared at the glinting ring.
“See, its a ring, but it has the first words you ever said to me on it” You giggled, the ring had the first words he had said to you on that train in first year. ‘Blimey, your gorgeous. Wait, what?’ The Weasleys laughed at the fond memory, and Mrs Weasley recalled all the letters she received that year, about the pretty Gryffindor that he was enchanted by.
“(Y/N), i-” He was honestly speechless.
“Oh and also!” She bounced excitedly “Its charmed to show a different picture of us and glows every time you think of mwah!” She giggled and mockingly flipped her hair. God she was perfect. He hugged her, tighter than he'd ever hugged her before. He whispered a quiet ‘thank you’ in your ear, you kissed his cheek and giggled, adding an ‘of course Freddie’. They pulled away and it was Fred's turn to give you his gift. Mr and Mrs Weasley where already tearing up at the scene in front them. Fred delicately handed you a similar box, you slowly ripped away the gold wrapping. Flipping the lid of the white box, sat a ring similar to the one you gave him, but as well as gold it had a purple stripe (your favourite colour) and a green stripe (his favourite colour). You stared at it, it was so beautiful.
“Its a promise ring” He began to explain. “i promise to always be...” He paused, breath hitched in his throat. Your faces where astonishingly close. “Your best friend” He breathed out. It honestly felt like a dagger in the chest, for both of you. You stared into each others eyes, desperately waiting, wanting, willing something to happen. Until you snapped away at the sound of Ron couching and Mrs Weasley shouting everyone for dinner.
Later that night, after dinner and the sun set, You and Fred had decided to go and watch the stars. A comforting act in itself but felt suddenly romantic with Fred. You two lay on a hill at the back of the burrow. Your head on his arm, cuddled up into him. You pointed out a star, Sirius.
“See that one?” You pointed towards the brightest star in the sky. Fred reached past your hand and pointed somewhere in the sky, that was definitely not where you where pointing.
“That one?”
You grabbed his wrist and moved to point it at the star. “See, Sirius, my uncles named after that star, ya know. Isn't it beautiful?” You questioned but Fred wasn't listening any more. Any thoughts of the stars had been discarded, he was only looking at you.
“Yeah, yeah it is beautiful” A small smile lit up his face as he stared at you in the moonlight.
You giggled as you saw Fred's ring glow brighter than any star in the sky. “Freddie, you rings glowi-” You turned to look at him but he was already staring. “What's up?” You questioned, a concerned look on your face.
“i love you in every possible way” He was still staring, a peaceful glint in his eye. Your heart stopped, your breath hitched. What did he just say? You sat up on your elbows and turned to look at him.
“What-” you whispered quietly.
“i love you (Y/N)” He matched your position on his elbows. “Ive loved you since that day I stepped foot into your carriage on the train and accidentally called you gorgeous. Ive loved you since you stood up against that Slytherin in second year. Ive loved you since you played that prank on Snape in third year. Ive loved you since you gave Hermione advice about her crush on Draco in 4th year. I love you under the sun and under the stars, in the Burrow or in Hogwarts or anywhere. I love you now and ill love you forever. I don't care if it ruins our friendship any more because I want you and only you.” You where brought to tears by his speech, and so where all the Weasleys who where watching from the kitchen windows. You threw your arms around him and kissed him. Pouring all the tears and bottled up feelings into the kiss.
“Of course I love you back Freddie, you idiot!” You jumped on top of him and he began giggling, you burst out in a fit of giggles. Mr. and Mrs Weasley watched from the kitchen, knowing his son had finally found the one. That was the most magical and memorable Christmas of your life.

Chapter Ten
The track stewards were unmoving in their decision to disqualify Midnight Runner. Track officials made a public announcement, and then it was over. The final word was that Runner had bumped the second-place horse in his rapid advance late in the race. The bump was hard enough to knock the horse's stride off thereby eliminating any chance to win.
Michael, Claire, and Jamie studied the race video repeatedly to see what happened and decided there was little that could have prevented it, unless Claire was doing her part as a jockey.
“It’s a big part of what the jockey does, you watch for openings and potential problems Claire. It’s time for you to become his jockey.”
Claire looked at Michael, “It’s about God damn time.”
They had two weeks before the next race in Kentucky and Claire would learn as fast as she could to prevent further bumps. She would have a long mental talk with Runner, so he understood the consequences of bumping another horse.
Jamie and Michael made sure Runner was safely boarded on the plane and rode back with the handler who brought them. Claire had everything packed and ready when Jamie returned, but she was too quiet. Jamie hugged her and asked for some honest talk time before they left. Sitting across from each other he asked what was on her mind.
“If something goes catastrophically wrong in a race, like yesterday, I wouldn’t be responsible for it up until now, because I wasn’t guiding him. Now I’m nervous that I won’t be a very good jockey and my direction to Runner will be wrong and cause a real mess.”
“It sounds like you trust Runner more than yerself lass. Can ye not see how much yer needed now? The races get harder from here because the weaker horses are gettin pulled from the stakes races. He will be runnin against better horses and he needs yer guidance.”
“I have two weeks to learn how to guide a twelve- hundred- pound speeding bullet with other horses all around us, and I’m terrified at the thought.”
“Ye said ye rode hunter-jumpers until two years ago but ye did more than that, didn’t ye lass?”
She threw him a questioning look.
“Forgive me Sassenach, I checked because I had to know everything about ye. This was back when my crush first started before I kissed ye the first time. It was the only thing I could do when I was missin ye.”
“I’m not sure I follow where this is going, Jamie.”
“Ye did more than just ride. Ye showed them competitively, even through vet school. Ye won yer class at the Hampton Classic did ye not? I watched your jump off and almost had a heart attack at the height and size of the jumps, the tight corners and angles, and the speed! Have ye forgotten that Sassenach? What ye will do in the race doesn’t even compare to that level of control.”
Claire blushed and looked at her hands. “That seems like another lifetime ago Jamie,” she said quietly.
“Well, it wasn’t, love, and it’s time to channel the competitor Claire and learn to race. I haven’t a single doubt about yer ability to learn, and ride him straight through undefeated.”
Jamie pulled her into his arms and kissed her with all the love and passion he felt. The colt was still proving he was one in a million with each race he won so they had to keep going. Now that they were going back to Kentucky, there were other issues they would have to deal with. He needed to see her strength, now more than ever.
It was decided that Michael would bunk with Jamie until he found somewhere to live and purchased a car. Jamie hoped Isobel would be cordial and accept the new roommate for the short time he was there.
Rupert pulled up to Claire’s house and waited for Jamie to walk her inside. She clung to him and kissed him before he was out the door, leaving her with all her doubts.
Jamie had explained his living situation and the presence of Isobel to Michael the best he could. The men stopped at the compound to look at the new quarantine wing where Runner and Porcelain Love would stay safe from outside threats. Jamie looked at the new multiplexer and thirty-two cameras that were displayed across two large screens in his office. Tomorrow he would get the doors online and provide pass codes for all the borders and staff. Isobel would not be getting a password and if she walked into the compound she would be followed closely by Rupert or Angus.
Michael appreciated the high tech facility and the improvements Jamie had made while they were in New York. He wasn’t a stupid man. There was more to the story than Jamie had shared and it piqued his interest, not only for Runner’s safety but for the wellbeing of his new friends. He would keep his eyes open and melt into the background for now.
Finding the house empty of one irritating Isobel, Jamie showed Michael to a guest room and went to bed. He sent a text message to Isobel telling her they had a guest so she wouldn’t shoot him when she came home. He laid in his bed and dialed Claire. He missed her already.
“Beauchamp.”
“My love, ye have caller ID do ye not?”
“I never remember to look. How is the most handsome man in the world?”
“What in God’s name is going on over there?”
“Sorry.” Claire closed herself into her room and the giggling girls were no longer heard. “That is Molly and Lulu and some boy that stopped by. I haven’t figured out why they are so happy. They talk so fast I can’t understand a thing they say. They make me feel old.”
“I’ll miss ye tonight mo chridhe. Runner has another two days of rest and I will lose my mind by then. Can I come over tomorrow night?”
“Anytime, day or night, Jamie. I’ll miss you too. Goodnight love.”
“Goodnight.”
The weight of the world became too heavy for Jamie to bear so he gave in to sleep and let the blackness carry him away.
Michael struggled with insomnia and tonight it was next to impossible to fall asleep. He decided to take a walk and stop sheet boxing. Once on the road, he naturally walked toward the compound enjoying the lovely evening. Large floodlights made it easy to find his way into the stall area and he walked the aisles looking at beautiful horses tucked in for the night. He found Runner’s wing and slipped in to give him some love when he was jumped from behind and almost strangled in the process.
“My name is Michael, I’m a guest of Jamie’s!”
Suddenly the weight on his back was gone and Rupert was sputtering his apology. Once Michael could breathe again, he asked why he was attacked. Rupert explained they were taking turns sleeping near Runner for his protection.
“Jamie will activate the new locks tomorrow, so we won’t have to do this anymore.”
“What are you protecting him from?”
“Well, two years ago someone tried to poison Jamie’s horses. Several died but Claire was able to save the others, including Runner. She cut him right out of the dead dam. So lately, there’s talk of someone comin into the stall area, late at night. Jamie and Claire got worried the same person was tryin to kill them again. Or steal them. That’s why we have all this new equipment and this quarantine wing. Just an excuse to fortify the walls, purify the air, and keep the feed separate. They never found the guy that tried to kill them so he’s still out there.”
Michael couldn’t believe his ears but now he understood all the new security. It seemed a bit over-reactive, but he never had someone try to kill his horses before.
“This person who came to the stalls recently, who saw him and did they ask why the guy was here?”
“No, Claire heard about it from Runner who was scared shitless about it, and it was a woman.”
“Come again?”
“It was a woman he said.”
“Who said?”
“Runner.” Michael was trying to keep his composure as he backed away from Rupert. He wanted to get out of the compound and back to the sane people right away.
“I see. Well, goodnight, sorry I bothered you.”
Rupert watched the man walk swiftly to the outside door thinking he was a bit odd. The horses were sound asleep again, so Rupert jumped back into his blankets and joined them.
Michael was replaying the scene with Rupert on his way back to the house, convinced Rupert was challenged in some way and Jamie gave him a job out of the kindness of his heart. That must be it, he told himself. Before he got to the house his cell phone was vibrating with a message from Claire. It was only ten o’clock so he called her back.
“Beauchamp.”
“Claire, hello, just got your text as I was walking back to Jamie’s. I went down to the compound to walk off some stress and ran into Rupert.”
“Oh, okay, now you’re walking back. I see.”
“Rupert told me about the woman who was coming to the stalls late at night. I was wondering, who found her?”
“No one found her.”
”How do you know she was here then?”
“Runner told me.”
Michael heard the bomb go off in his mind and he staggered to get his legs under him so he didn’t fall. His heart was pounding, and his hand pushed sweat off his forehead.
“Well, goodnight Michael. I will see you in a couple of days.”
“Yes, goodnight Claire.”
Michael felt like he was in the twilight zone where people seemed normal until they had you on a breeding farm in the middle of nowhere and then revealed they were all crazy. He couldn’t walk himself out of here if he tried. It had to be many miles to the nearest store or gas station, and he had no idea which way to go. He had no choice except lock himself in his room until morning then ask for a ride to town.
Jamie was pulling wire into his office the next morning when Michael came in. He looked a bit under the weather and Jamie asked if he was well. Michael was fidgeting and looking at the ground while Jamie was distracted by running the wire.
“I came down here last night when I couldn’t sleep. I spoke to Rupert after he nearly choked me to death. We had a nice talk about things.”
Jamie looked at Michael, “what kind of things?”
“Well, the woman who visits the stalls late at night. He said Runner told you.”
“Nah, he doesna talk to me, only Claire.”
Michael was positive now, they were all crazy. “Do you think I could get a ride into town, right now?”
“Of course, Rupert can drive ye.”
“Is there anyone else available?”
Jamie put down the wire and looked at the trainer.
“What’s goin on Michael, yer acting very strange and why don’t ye come in and take a seat?”
“I need to get on my way actually, right now, and I can’t wait.”
Jamie could see the man was terrified and wondered what happened to him.
“Michael, ye mean a lot to us and I hate to see ye go. What’s happened to ye?”
He described what happened the night before and his brief conversation with Claire.
Jamie dialed Claire and told her they were coming over so she could talk to Michael about talking to animals. On the way, he had plenty of time to explain what happened the first time Claire came to Highland Brothers to do yearling checks and instead, walked into a mass poisoning.
“She held their head and started calling out drugs to mix into a cocktail. No way she could have assessed the poisoning so precisely but in the end, she saved all but five. My prized dam died and Claire cut the colt out of her. I bottle raised him which is why he had to be taught to run, I think. I dinna think he knew he was a horse. Claire taught him by racing him like he was a kid. It worked, now he only wants to race. When I saw him really run, I was stunned by his speed. He wouldn’t accept a rider until Claire held his head and told him something. She is the only one who can ride him.”
Michael looked like he wanted to open the door and run. Anywhere, it didn’t matter, as long as it was away from Jamie. The story he just heard was pure fiction, that was obvious, but who was such a master to perpetuate such a tail. Claire. She must truly be gifted to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes, he thought. He felt a bit sorry for gullible Jamie, but it wasn’t his business. He had one task in front of him, get away from these people and find a way back to New York.
Claire clicked off feeling a deep worry about Michael leaving them. She asked Molly to please stick around to add her testimony and rushed to get dressed.
Claire welcomed them all to sit on the patio and went inside for a pitcher of lemon aid. Jamie followed her and told Molly to make sure Michael didn’t bolt for the stairs.
“Give me yer mouth Sassenach,”
Jamie kissed her several times before carrying the pitcher outside, followed by Claire who sat down and waited for Michael’s questions. The neighbor's cat was a regular visitor to her porch and jumped into Claire’s lap, purring with happiness at being stroked.
Claire could see Michael was not open-minded now and her answers fell on deaf ears. She told the cat to lick the face of the man near the stairs and sent a mental image.
“Michael, do be kind and let the kitty lick your face, don’t scare him.”
Michael looked at Claire like she was crazy because cats didn’t like him and never gave him a second look. The cat jumped in his lap and got up on hind legs to lick his cheek. Then it went back to Claire’s lap and curled up in the sun.
The silence was deafening as Michael struggled to accept what he just saw with his own eyes.
“Michael, it’s not important that you believe me, those closest to me had a very hard time with it. I understand that and do not force the issue. We can all coexist for the sake of Runner and hold our own beliefs. We are not a group of crazy people that believes we can talk to animals. Only me.”
That seemed to snap Michael out of his fear-based silence and he looked at Jamie.
“You don’t hear animals talking?”
“Never have, only Claire.”
“As long as I don’t offend you believing animals can’t talk to any human, I’m in.”
“It will not offend me, Michael, and I am very relieved to hear you are still with us.”
Jamie gave Claire a long look as they were leaving. It seemed she was always alone, starting with her parent's death and now a special gift that no one believed in. He wondered how she could be so level-headed, so compassionate, and not hate the world. He could hardly wait to get back here after work. He needed to hold her and tell her what was in his heart.

Babylon Vol. 1: Freeze Frame, Little Victories, Handled
Tumblr media
[ID: a blue patterned banner with text reading “BABYLON.” End ID.]
(Ok this one’s a LONG one, I’ll admit it! But these three chapters-- one Big Boy and two much shorter epilogues-- really go together very well, I didn’t want to separate them. This is one of my favorite parts of book one honestly, so I hope you guys enjoy it too.)
CW: Panic attack
8. Freeze Frame
    There wasn’t really any reason for it, it had just been a very long day. A very long day punctuated, of course, by yet another endless fancy dress event, one Trinity needed out of right now. The problem being that he wasn’t alone at this event. He was used to being the brooding wallflower, the kind of man who was noticed when he needed to be, but who no one would notice if he slipped away. Having Azzy there, even though they’d been to several events together by this point, was a very slight change to his usual strategy that made everything just a touch more difficult. Which meant that, right now, it made everything seem pretty much impossible. Trinity wondered if Azzy had noticed how long it had been since he moved his eyes. Or took a breath. He wasn’t sure himself, and if that awareness was slipping it was really time to go. He couldn’t do this in front of her.
    “I’ll be right back, dear. Restroom,” he murmured to her, hoping those were the actual words that came out of his mouth. He felt a bit like he was staring at the back of his own head, or watching a vaguely interesting silent film from the back of a drive in theater. He walked away without waiting for a response-- it wasn’t as if he’d hear it, anyway-- making a conscious effort to swing his arms in opposition to his legs as he walked. In his head, he slowly began listing prime numbers, with just enough forethought to pull away from the comm link beforehand. 1. 2. 3. 5. 7. 11. 13? 13. A bead of sweat formed on his temple and rolled slowly down his face. He knew a spot that would be deserted at this time. 17. 19. 23. He turned the corner, and disappeared out of sight from the main ballroom.
    Trinity had left all too quickly. Azure wasn’t used to the crowds quite yet, but something in the urgency with which he left concerned her. The comm had been giving her something like static before it turned off entirely, and he almost never turned that off unless he had to. He liked to know when she was getting nervous. Was the link malfunctioning? She was here, alone, and she didn’t even know where he went. Before she could begin mentally mapping the ballroom out to figure out where the bathrooms even were around here, someone in an all-too-boring suit and his date in a tacky, glittery number walked up. She blinked, plastering a smile on her face.
    “And to what do I owe the pleasure, Mister…?”
    “Please, just call me James. Where is Trinity? I just saw him around here a minute ago, then he disappeared!” Whoever he was, he seemed friendly. Even if his date was sizing her up something fierce. She ran through her last few events, looking for a James in there somewhere to remember. Maybe she should start sticking around for the tax talk. Oh! This was the one from the security agency. She could field that without fucking it up, he’d mentioned it before. She just had to be really noncommittal. Pretend like she knew anything. That’s how Trinity said he used to do it as a teenager.
    “Trinity’s currently takin’ care of something elsewhere, I’m sure you understand.” She picked her words carefully. “He should be back in a moment, but these things are always so busy, hardly any time to actually get from A to B without some stops in between.” She tried to remember the way Trinity danced his way through small talk to get to the heart of these issues faster. She’d never understood how he did it, but she’d have to try. She tested the comm and got nothing back. “Honestly, I’m sure the borin’ work things can wait until you see him next time. Please, go enjoy yourselves! I’ll gladly let him know y’all came to see him, he’ll be sorry he missed ya.”
    That evasion seemed polite enough for the two of them, as they gave their sincere apologies for not getting to him before he left and went on their merry way. She gave a big exhale, some small sparks shaking off her hands. She shouldn’t stay in one spot or it’d happen again, and this brand of over-polite and accommodating was not her base setting. If she was too formal for too long, she was almost certain she’d begin to chafe. She began a beeline for the refreshments table, eyes always looking out for her date, the stubborn line of her jaw covering for an increasing amount of concern for him.
    Her shoulder brushed against someone, jostling her from her thoughts slightly. She really only saw a pristine suit and a hand covered in rings. No, that wasn’t something she could handle right now. Too rich for her blood, and literally.
    “Excuse me, my apologies-” was all she offered, continuing on her way. By the time she reached the table, full of wine glasses, she realized too late she’d been followed. But not by the person she’d bumped into. She plastered another smile to her face, picking up a glass and masking her urge to wrinkle her nose at the smell of the wine. She recognized this one: Usually she was with her boy-toy of the week, but today she was alone.
    “Denicia, to what do I owe the pleasure? Where’s that darlin’ blond of yours, or have you broken another young man’s heart within the last week?” She punctuated the sentence with a laugh, making sure it was clear she was telling a joke. Internally, she cringed. She wished Trinity was with her, this was where he’d let out a big breath and quietly note some disheveled detail to pick on to make her leave. She didn’t have the eye for it, nor the vocabulary to really properly pull off that particular exit. That was really more Crim’s thing. Which meant she was stuck.
    “I was about to ask you the same thing, I’ve looked for him everywhere and I simply can’t imagine you’d cut him loose as quickly as I cut mine, Camilla.” The woman gave a smile full of teeth and Azzy wondered if they were fake or if she just had that big of a mouth. No soft chuckle and joke in return. The silence in the comm made her lonely, but she pushed it aside.
    “Oh he’s around. Probably drawin’ up a contract somewhere, you know how he is, always work, no play.” She affected her best pout. This was her least favorite face to put on, the spoiled and slighted lover. If anyone looked at her hands, calloused and scarred, they’d know she was bullshitting, without a doubt, but these people simply weren’t observant or ballsy enough to try and call her on it, and somehow that was worse.
    “You poor dear, he’ll come around soon I’m sure. Inboxes don’t stay full forever when that’s the pace you work at.” Denicia patted her on the shoulder sympathetically. “I suppose I won’t bother you with my business then, you’ve got a man to locate before he forgets you’re here. Good luck dear!” and with that she whirled around to disappear into the crowd again, leaving behind a thick floral perfume that made Azure gag. She shook out more sparks and gave a long sigh. She had no idea how Trinity had done this on his own for so long. She looked around to see if anyone was watching too closely, and finished her drink in a single gulp. Then she turned, bumping into another someone with way too many rings.
“Oop, my bad, excuse me!”, she offered a small curtsy and continued on her way, beginning her hunt for Trinity anew, wherever he was. A piercing gaze followed her, but with so many sets of eyes on her already, what was one more? She was so, so close to the bathrooms when a man exited. He recognized her, and plodded in her direction. She wanted to groan.
    She knew this one too.
    “Camilla! Powdering your nose I assume? The lady always looks ravishing, I can assure you that from where I’m standing you don’t need to.”
    “Great to see you, Mister Phineas.” She gave a coy smile, keeping an eye on the doors behind him, mentally cataloguing anyone entering and exiting. She prayed Trinity would save her from this one. “Has your evenin’ been kind to you? You seemed to be spinnin’ one helluva yarn when I passed by earlier.”
    Mister Phineas gave a deep belly laugh, and she narrowly kept her smile on well enough to avoid wincing. God, he was so loud. Trinity hadn’t left the bathroom yet, and she wasn’t sure he’d leave her hanging out here if he knew it was Phineas she’d been cornered by.
    “Ah Camilla, that’s more a story for your lad Trinity! Something for us men to share.” He patted her shoulder, and she threw up in her mouth a little. “Where is the boy anyway? I haven’t seen him since the two of you entered.”
    She wanted desperately to just leave. Tell him to fuck off, turn heel and go. He was useless to Trinity by the man’s own admission anyway so a tiny little shock really wouldn’t hurt him too much, with all the insulation he had. Instead of any of that though, she tittered. No point in being violent because someone’s annoying, that would be unladylike at best and evil at worst; her whole reason to be here was making things easier for Trinity. “He’s indisposed, handlin’ some affairs he said just couldn’t wait a minute longer. Shall I pass somethin’ along? I’ve got no idea when he’ll be back around.” She tapped at the comm one more time. Nothing. Ugh.
    “Oh, poor form, leaving a pretty thing like you to wander a wolf’s den like this.” For once she thought maybe Phineas had a point, but she’d never admit that. “I’ll handle my business with him myself, would hate to make you work harder than you need to.” He took her hand and pressed a kiss to the back of it and she smiled, while internally screaming. He waved and off he went, and she fought the urge to wipe the slime his mouth left on her hand off onto her dress. She looked around.
    Trinity still hadn’t returned. She couldn’t reach him in the comm, and in the minute or so she’d kept an eye on the men’s room, he hadn’t entered or exited. At least out in this hall, she could get a feel for the size of the building. It wasn’t huge, just fancy with a lot of gardens. Trinity wouldn’t leave the building she didn’t think, not if she was going to be stuck here. That left a few stairwell corners and some alcoves she already knew were full of the sort of illicit rendezvous Trinity wasn’t really inclined to. She exited the hall with the bathrooms, knowing full well that’s where the alcoves were and not the stairwells. She took a deep breath and entered the throng, smiling and waving where her attention was drawn but not stopping to converse. Crimson’s voice rang in her head: “If you look purposeful enough, anyone with sense will get out of your way, and anyone without sense should follow suit.”
    So through the crowd she strode, head high, step as sure as she could fake it, a wake of static left behind her every step as she tried to quell her rising concern for Trinity’s well being. Her face was set as neutrally as she could manage, knowing her default was an expression of stubborn irritation. To others, she was a woman on a mission. To herself, she was mentally planning every step she took, desperately praying she’d see him pop up in the corners of her vision.
    She was almost to the set of hallways on the other side of the room when, in her desperate focus to Get To The Other Side Of The Room, she barely registered the bejeweled hand on her shoulder. Internally, she sighed. Externally, she carefully took the hand off her shoulder, barely sparing a long enough glance to be heard. “I’m very sorry sir, I’ve got somethin’ urgent to attend to.”
    “Urgent?” The man lifted a perfect dark eyebrow in a bone-pale and starkly handsome face, and pulled his hand back slowly from where it had been draped in the air after she’d removed it from her person. The nails were painted blood red, and gold and silver rings glinted in the light. His voice was far more polite than any of the others she’d talked to, soft and smooth as silk, but she still really didn’t have time for that.
    Did I fuckin’ stutter, sir?
    A slight static from the comm answered her unspoken question, then nothing.
    “I’m afraid so. I assure you,” she tossed over her shoulder and began walking away, more static in her wake. “I’m a horrible liar.”
    He only blinked. “I believe you.” The words were quiet, but followed her down the hall anyhow. He turned with a flash of purple-- was that a purple velvet suit, really?-- and was out of sight, finally. She fought the urge to stick her tongue out or give a loud sigh or do something, anything to vent the frustration she felt at being stopped again, but she managed to keep it together. She wandered the thinning crowds in the hallway, ascending a set of stairs with purpose to a floor that seemed almost deserted.
    “Trinity?” She called softly, not wanting to alert anyone to his disappearance. If he wasn’t here, she’d look like a crazy person, and she already had enough of that. She stayed quiet and listened over the din of the event downstairs. She didn’t hear anything, but there was a slight shadow down one of the empty hallways, unmoving, but vaguely human shaped. She strode towards the shape, slowing as she went.
    “Trinity?” she called softly from a few feet away.
    It was him, she could see as she approached. He stood, leaning against the wall in the deserted hallway, perfectly still and unmoving. He didn’t even seem to be breathing. His face was expressionless, gaze vaguely fixed at a point across the hall where the wall met the floor, eyes frozen in place. He hadn’t blinked since she’d been watching him, and her eyes started to water in sympathy. He didn’t react to her presence. After a long moment, he blinked. The movement began and ended in only his eyelids.
    She stopped only a few feet from him, just outside his periphery. She reached a hand out, hesitant. She had no idea what was going on, he’d completely shut her out this whole time. No warning, just silence. If she was honest, she’d been pushing the thought that maybe she’d messed up somehow away all night. But she couldn’t find what she’d done, and it wasn’t like Trinity to give a punishment like the silent treatment. He’d call in a drone strike, or something. Ruin her credit score. Tease her mercilessly until she apologized. She turned off the cybernetics in her arm, reaching for his shoulder.
    “Terra to Trinity, pagin’ Hotshot. We need you back here on the ground, buddy.” Her voice came out softer than she’d known it could ever be. He was so still. She frowned, glancing around them. No one. He was certainly good at finding hiding spots. She moved into his line of sight. “Trinity, what’s goin’ on?”
    As she got close to him, she could see why it looked like he wasn’t breathing. He was taking incredibly shallow breaths, so much so that his chest and mouth didn’t move at all, and the breaths were coming far faster than was healthy. He didn’t respond to her voice or even to her touch except to blink again— the only hint that any stimulus was reaching him. She’d never seen him do anything even close to this before, he was always so well put together she’d begun to think he was a robot designed exclusively to chat easily with the rich and powerful. She couldn’t piece together what the hell was going on. Was he having a seizure? It didn’t look quite like the ones she’d seen Cadet have, but maybe there were more kinds. Or maybe it was something else. Had something happened to him? She wouldn’t know until either he could talk or passed out, and who knew when that would be. If he was having a seizure she’d know soon enough, and then maybe she’d be able to help. But in the meantime?
    She plopped onto the ground, back resting against the wall as she stretched out to lounge right there on the floor. Her arm was pressed lightly but firmly against his leg. Something to anchor himself to, if he needed to for some reason. She gave an exaggerated yawn.
    “Yeah I don’t blame you for bein’ quiet, this is stressful. I was downstairs on my own for a fraction of what you usually deal with and I’m already done with it.” She spoke as though he was going to respond, giving his silence some time to fill the air in response. “I ran into Phineas and he left some of his mouth slime on my hand. I think he got….rounder.” She puffed her cheeks out and made a noise one would attribute to a Large Formless Blob. “I think it’s all the shit he talks, he’s swallowing some. The methane’s inflating him AND his ego.”
    She chanced a look up at him before she continued. “I think that probably he’s the worst. He’s just so damn loud. It’s nicer up here. Quiet and you can actually breathe a little without catching someone’s four thousand credit perfume in your mouth. Have you noticed how overdone the smells are? I was thinking about makin’ a little particle-incineratin’ barrier for my nose just to come to these things without havin’ to leave with a headache.”
     A slightly louder inhale and exhale this time. Maybe something… or maybe not. Still, his chest moved a little with the breath, just the slightest twitch. He blinked. She grinned and continued in her lounging, gesturing dramatically. “I mean, how many innocent flowers died in the making of that migraine? How much you wanna bet they don’t even like the smell themselves? It’s the luxury of it all. Poor posies never imagined it would end like that, slathered on a high-falutin’ neck for the drama.” She was trying to be funny, in the hopes he’d maybe smile. She also tried to keep her voice low enough that only he could hear her, even from her ridiculous position splayed out on the floor. She made an attempt at keeping a cadence to her inflection as well. Something easy to follow, soothing.
    His head made a robotic movement, up and down almost imperceptibly as if mimicking the idea of a nod. It seemed like more of an automatic response, something cultivated to try and convince people there was nothing wrong, rather than an indication he understood or processed what she was saying. Not that it would convince anyone, it was the least natural motion she’d ever seen from him, but at least it meant he could hear her.
    She took a deep breath and moved a little, stretching out in front of him now, right at his feet, still making sure some part of her touched him. She looked around. Still no one, not that it mattered much. This was the most comfort and fun she’d had all night, which really said something about the company they kept at these events. She smiled up at him. “And some of these people are tacky as hell. I have no idea who let them out of the house lookin’ like that. Though I guess honestly I’m not sure who let them out in general, they don’t know how to act right.” She rested her head on a gloved hand, stabilized by her elbow on the floor. She hummed a little in thought. “I wonder what the market would be like for a little robot that tells you when you’ve got a few too many rings on. Absolutely ridiculous, you jack off with that hand?” She lifted her head and counted on her fingers. “I think more than like three per hand is pushin’ it. How do you even lug your own limbs around? Do something useful that’s not stoppin’ me when I’m busy.”
    He actually stopped breathing for a moment at something she’d said in there. Hard to say which part, she’d said a lot of shit. She could ask later. If she remembered. For now she was just looking for something, anything to talk about. “...Yeah, you’re right, it is a little rude not to even try to act like I care.” She continued as if he’d responded to her. “Like I said, I got no idea how you did this on your own for so long. It’s awful. I can only imagine how much more you’d rather be home, curled under a blanket or something. Some hot cocoa instead of this weird champagne with alien fruit in it. I’m not even sure what it is. Do you know of any green fruits with a rind like an orange and the texture of an apple? Tasted awful, and I even double checked, you are supposed to eat it.”
    She was about to barrel on, but some instinct told her to wait. After a moment, Trinity twitched at her side, seeming to struggle for a big enough breath to speak. “Zmenclok.” His voice was empty of all emotion, a blank monotone without inflection. “Antrian fruit.”
    She nodded thoughtfully, a wave of relief crashing over her to hear him speak at all. “The Antrians are a strong people then, because that was the worst fruit I’ve ever put in my mouth by a long shot.” She examined her nails, as though she really cared much. “Left a smell on my hands, I’ve washed them twice already.” She’d also tried to burn the smell off with electricity, but that also hadn’t worked. “I wonder if instead of water soluble sugars, it’s made of something else? That would explain why I hated it, humans might not actually be compatible with the chemical makeup. We’ll know when the bathroom lines reach out to the cars, I suppose.”
    “Uh… huh.” It was almost a sound of agreement, or at least meant to sound like one, with about twelve of those fast, shallow breaths between the syllables. When she glanced up at him, his eyes had gone unfocused and cloudy.
    He could kind of talk, which was good. She didn’t want to push her luck by drawing attention to the state he was pulling himself out of. So she just kept going, starting with a very long, deep inhale and sigh. Maybe he’d get the hint. She usually did when Crim did it, but everyone’s different. “Y’know, I talk a lot of shit, but I do have fun at these sometimes. It’s not the worst thing to look nice and eat weird food. Can’t say I’d recommend the “whole spoonful of just Gensoran caviar” thing but it’s a great story since I’m at these things all the time lately anyway.” She thought for a moment. “The dancin’s pretty alright too. I get some of my best thinkin’ done when I’m not hangin’ upside down, it turns out. I sent off a blueprint to my shop back home, they’re doin’ the rough fabrication for me so I can get the fine tunin’ out of the way on my own. I used to drive ‘em all nuts, gettin’ way too precise.” She had a faraway look in her eyes. She really didn’t think he’d notice. “I kinda miss my mechanics. With just Kelly to watch all of ‘em, I’d hope they can focus hard enough to get anythin’ done.”
    He might have attempted to follow her example of a deep breath, but he didn’t make it far. His breathing got harsher as she spoke, but no slower or deeper. “A-Az—ure.” He could barely get the word out through his tight, shallow, breaths. His hand closest to her flexed, opening like he was searching for something to grab onto, and she could feel his leg start to tremble against her. He swayed on his feet, unsteady. He was moving now, but it seemed like his frozen state had been compensating for the lack of oxygen he was getting. Any clarity he’d been grasping for answering her questions was fading, and as it did that odd static fuzz picked up through the com again. Somehow, the sound was almost frantic, making her tense up as it invaded her mind.
    She shoved the static away. She could have a secondhand panic at home, with Crim or Perry or something. Priority one: Trinity Jericho does not pass out on the floor of the balcony level stairwell in a ritzy ballroom. Priority two: Trinity Jericho does not get his panic revealed to the general public. In one fluid motion, she got to her feet. Somewhere, a violin bow began a slow trek along its strings. She caught the hand that had been flexing in her own, her other wrapping around his waist as she stepped in close. The same way he’d kept her upright countless times while she was still stumbling around in heels like a newborn giraffe. She was a lot shorter, but her cybernetics kicked in a little to help. Someone walked up the stairs and she gave them a shy smile, brain endlessly working. They passed by with little thought given to the couple dancing in the empty hallway. She thought into the comm, as soothingly as she could.
    Lean in. I’ll lead this time. I promise you’re not heavy. Breathe, Trinity.
    She wasn’t completely sure she was reaching him, but once he had something supporting him at least he could stop fighting so hard to hold himself upright under his own power. Almost his full weight dropped into her, and his head fell to her shoulder. She could feel tiny, hot puffs of air against her neck, as he fought to slow his breathing. His face was still blank of all emotion or expression, but the comm registered his terror— he couldn’t stop, couldn’t control it. His hands twitched, tightening around hers. She gave him a gentle squeeze back.
    Breathe with the music. In-two-three-four, out-two-three-four.
    She continued counting for him, keeping time with the lazy tune playing on the floor below as it floated up to them. She took no real steps, but kept a slow, steady, easy sway. She did the breathing herself, trying to drown his static with her own soothing patterns. Eventually, the rhythm of the swaying and the music started to break through the static— he managed a deep breath in, struggling to release it again as it caught in his chest, until he finally let it all out with a choking exhale. The next time he tried, it was slightly smoother, and he staggered in place. He would have fallen if it weren’t for her arms holding him up. His chest heaved in and out a few more times, and his legs trembled slightly.
    “I’m. Fine. O—ok.” The words were robotic and clipped.
    “That’s a lie, but you can talk now so I’ll take it.” She continued their swaying, keeping her breathing deep and slow. Her head turned to hide her mouth in his shoulder, away from anyone nearby who might be able to read lips and was piecing it all together. There was no one, realistically, but at this point she also just enjoyed the warmth. “I think I got cornered by every friend you’ve got at these damn things while tryin’ to find you. We can probably dip as soon as you’re ready. They can wait. You can go home, Hotshot. You don’t have to stay on this time.”
    “Yes. I want to go… soon.” It was like he was reading a teleprompter. They swayed for a bit longer, as his breathing evened out, and after a moment, he tapped her on the shoulder, like he was trying to get her attention. “Can… we sit.”
    " 'Course we can sit." She slowed them to a stop and let him onto his own two feet as gently as she could, easing him to the ground after that. She flopped down beside him with much less care and ceremony. She nestled herself into his shoulder, just in front of him enough to suggest she was ready to support his weight sitting, if he needed it. "Better?"
    He braced himself against the wall as he slid to the floor. In the back of her mind, through the comm, she could hear what sounded vaguely like numbers, prime numbers, she realized after a moment. Soon enough, they stopped, and he took in another trembling breath. “Yes. Better.” He still didn’t sound like Trinity. It was hard to hear him sound so... absent. “I’m. Coming back.” He paused. “Know where I am. Sorry I… left.”
    She leaned into him gently, lounging as casually as you can in a floor length gown. If he'd been mentally present, she'd have looked like a really old Terran lounge singer. All she was missing was a piano. Her mouth curved into its standard lopsided smile. "If you were just dealin' with what I think you were, I can't say I blame ya for dippin' out. Not exactly fun, Crim's told me." She rolled her shoulder a little. "I wasn't kiddin', you know. I managed to excuse you from the clutches of three of our favorites for the night. We really can just go home once you're back to basics."
    He nodded stiffly, before letting his head loll back against the wall, as if he couldn’t quite hold it up on his own. “Panic attack. No reason. Just too much.” He pressed his hands to the cold tile of the floor, seeking something to feel. “In… a minute. I want to leave. Soon, I can… fake it. Enough to get out.”
    She nodded back, eyeing another set of people making their way up the stairs. She sat up straight, shielding him from view, leaning in a little farther than she might normally, even for what she was here to pretend to be. "Take your time, Trinity." She whispered quietly. He couldn't really keep up an act right now, so she was going to have to put up twice as much. Sorry about this. I'm going to touch you, I'll try to make it as little as I can. She settled her arms around him, head on his shoulder. Her face said adoration while her eyes betrayed the thought involved as she tried to keep the touch as minimal as she could.
    A shudder ran through him as the sounds of the other couple reached them, and his green eyes stared through Azzy instead of at her even as she leaned in close to shield him from their view. His breathing had begun to speed up just slightly, but he managed to at least keep it steady and deep with the help of a quiet chant of prime numbers that slipped into the back of her mind from his, clearly a strategy he had to keep focus and not fall back into whatever empty place he’d been before.
    The passersby soon left their immediate vicinity, and Azzy pulled away from him slowly. With Crim, there was a 50/50 chance she'd be forbidden from moving and letting him go after a panic attack, so she wanted to give Trinity the option, if he could tell that's what was being offered. She searched his body language for what he needed, other than an opportunity to leave. She briefly wondered if just breaking down a wall and making their own door was that bad of a plan.
    Trinity made no move to keep her in place, and his body language, like his face, was so still and blank that she couldn’t glean much of anything from it. She wondered what in his life had taught him to panic like this— silent and so absolutely contained that he nearly ceased to exist entirely. She took a deep breath, letting herself also slump against the wall and, for the first time since she found him like this, she looked away. Her eyes remained fixed on the stairwell, quietly willing the partygoers below to stay away as she continued to count the beat of the current song. She took herself away from being pressed to him entirely, giving him some few inches of space. Her part in this was done. All that was left was to wait it out. He’d pulled away from the comm again, closing his thoughts off, but she could hear him breathing steadily behind her as he pulled a bit more fully back to himself.
    It took a few minutes, but eventually she heard movement behind her as Trinity shifted, clearing his throat. “Alright. I think I should be ready to go now, as long as we don’t have to stop and talk to anyone.” His voice moved up and down in a manner very similar to its usual inflection, but somehow after witnessing what she just had she could tell that it was all very intentional. It wasn’t his real voice, just a very clever approximation that would probably fool anyone who didn’t know him very well. With luck, it would be enough for them to make it out of the building. She got the feeling that it wasn’t going to get any better than this as long as they were still in the place where it had happened.
    She stood and brushed herself off, rolling her shoulder and setting her jaw in its usual stubborn position. She offered him her hands to pull him to standing. “I’ve got it on the way out. Smile and nod like I’m sure you were plannin’ on anyway.”
    In response, he simply smiled. Very convincing, except his eyes were still faraway and empty. “Of course. I’ve had to do this a couple of times before.” He didn’t say ‘alone,’ but she knew what he meant. It was maybe as close to a thank you as he could manage to get out right now. She gave a slightly sadder smile in response. She’d always been easy to read. It made her easy to talk to. Eyes becoming steely, she pulled him up.
    “Okay, let’s go back to hell.”
    “Already there.” He gave that same empty smile and followed.
    She took his hand in hers and led him down the stairs. The difference from the lazing, relaxed person who’d just sat with him and held him literally upright, to the person leading him through the throng of the rich and forgettable was astounding. She’d never walked this tall at an event before, each step falling exactly where she’d intended it to. In her head, she tracked where she’d entered from, where there were the fewest people they knew and where there were the fewest people in general. She kept an eye out for people who’d been looking for him, breezing past Phineas without him sparing either of them so much as a glance. The usual easy gracefulness she was trying for was replaced with a purposeful stride, static in the air where she stepped.
    She really just wanted to leave as soon as possible. Her brother’s voice rang in her head once more: “People with sense will get out of your way”. She hoped he was right, Trinity needed some fresh air at least. She wove through the crowds, exchanging passing pleasantries through kilowatt smiles and an ever so slightly played up drawl. Trinity barely had to look at who she was speaking to.
    Somewhere along their way, so close to the exit, she turned a bit quickly, bumping into someone in a purple suit with an overabundance of jewelry. She heard the tinkle of breaking glass and the splash of liquid scattering from the broken cup. The man she’d just spilled wine on looked up from the tablet he’d been occupied with, his face, which might have been familiar had she bothered to think about it, written over with genuine surprise. Trinity’s hand tightened on hers, and she could feel his pulse pounding where his wrist pressed close to hers. She gave a quiet noise of surprise before collecting herself and trying to mind her manners without getting trapped by conversation. “My bad, s’cuse me sir-” She quipped out as she pushed past, pulling Trinity with her without a second thought, stride still sure. Was his breathing starting to speed up again? All the more reason to get out as fast as possible.
    When they finally made it through the doors with no further issues and reached the empty stretch of driveway the car had been called to, Trinity dropped her hand and took a few more breaths to calm himself down again. He didn’t always trust what he saw in this state, but…
    “Oh God,” He muttered, his voice dropping back into its low monotone. “Tell me he’s not following. I can’t…” words failed him, and he rubbed his hands together, trying to generate some feeling. He prayed the car would arrive soon. She looked behind them. No one.
    “No one followed us, Hotshot. What’s got you bent outta shape again? I said excuse me.” Her words were callous, but she sounded genuinely concerned. She thought she’d done well, and he certainly seemed like he had more important things to worry about than her being a little rude on accident.
    “I know.” He took in a breath too fast, and forced it to exit more slowly. “But he’s too observant. I can’t let him see… this. You-- you know how he is, don’t you.” It should have been a question, but the phrase didn’t go up at the end to indicate it.
    She raised a brow, moving to touch his shoulder lightly, hoping to steady him on his feet a little better and give him something to ground with. “Tacky?” She, again, sounded genuine, making a little joke to lighten this bizarre mood they’d cooked up.
    He turned to face her, and somehow her response shocked an actual expression out of him, his eyes slightly widened. “Azure. That man was…” a very slight twitch of the corner of his mouth, like this was something he really didn’t want to address. “My employer.”
    Her mouth formed a perfect ‘o’ the moment the final syllable was out. It closed a moment later, and her brow furrowed, guilt all over her features. “That really is a problem then, ain’t it? Shit Trinity, I’m sorry. I was just tryin’ to get us both outta there. It’s not like its exactly my forte, bein’ in crowds.” She ran her hand through her curls, bunching them up at the base of her neck. Her hands sparked some but she didn’t shake them out. “Still I’m...shit, I’m sorry.”
    He took a few calming breaths, trying to look reassuring, but he was clearly still struggling to be expressive. “It’s alright. He… didn’t notice anything. Won’t bother with it… once it’s not interesting anymore.”
    Azzy bit back her Sounds like a real peach to know comment, only to realize a moment later she still had her comm in, and the sardonic tone was not subtle. She cleared her throat. “As long as you’re fine. I don’t exactly have a lot to fear from ‘im, so if you think you’re fine then you probably are.”
    “I’m not afraid of him.” He sighed slightly and glanced down the road impatiently, waiting for the car to arrive. “But showing weakness is dangerous.”
    Somehow, Azure managed to say nothing for long enough to choose her next words carefully. “Guess it’s good I didn’t see anythin’ then.” Her mouth molded the words in such a way that when they left her mouth, they carried the clear reminder she was technically a vigilante by trade as well as a cybernetic engineer: She was offering him the option to ask her to forget. To ignore the whole night, act like it had never happened. Nothing gained, nothing lost. Just a black box of a night she’d never bring up again.
    He looked at her, putting together her meaning. After a moment, he gave a slow nod of his head. His eyes held hard steel that said he understood, and a flash of gratitude that she assumed was the last indication she’d get that anything happened, before he turned away again.
    “I appreciate your company at these events, Azure. It certainly serves its purpose.”
    She simply nodded in understanding as the car finally pulled up the drive, jewelry glinting in the moonlight and features placid. Face blank. Like nothing had happened. She glanced around to make sure there wasn’t anyone outside, before opening the door for him. A friendly gesture.
    He smirked at her, this one closer to genuine than she’d seen all night, as he got into the car. “What a gentleman. Come on, you have to get back to the ship.”
    She rolled her eyes and got in the car herself. “The lady’s in a rush to be rid of me. Forsooth, my heart. It breaks.” His smirk reflected back at him. He smacked her shoulder lightly as she got in, and the car finally pulled away from the event, headed for home.
9. Little Victories
    Azzy’s feet hit the cold metal of the ship over and over, shoes in one hand and excessive skirt bunched high in the other as she ran clear across the entire crew quarters level from the entrance, leaving a trail of static in her wake. She’d long since abandoned any idea of propriety now that she was back on her own home turf. Her run stopped at the end of the hall, where hers, her brother’s, Periwinkle’s, Indigo’s, and Smalls’ cabins were clustered. Breathless and eyes alight with excitement, she knocked on Perry’s door, finally doubling over to pant and wait for them to answer.
    The door opened on Perry’s confused face. “Azure, what—?”
    Azzy stood up straight once the door opened, beaming if a little embarrassed by her own energy. “I want you to guess what I did today, you’ll think it’s hilarious.”
    “Ok, well…” they blinked at her, clearly baffled. “You were off the ship today. With a ‘friend,’ wasn’t it?” It was an affectation— many of the people on the ship had figured out at this point where Azzy went when she was planetside and who she was with, and Perry specifically had probably known since date number two, but it was an unspoken rule to pretend they didn’t.
    Azzy rolled her eyes at the implication. Trinity was a friend, and a good one. Even if he was, by every account, very shady. So were all of them, so who were they to talk? She pushed the retort back in favor of continuing to beam. “I ran into Fate. Quite literally, I might add. Spilled wine on him, heard the “oh!”, all of it. Ruined his shirt, I guarantee you, maybe that awful purple suit too. Not sure he knew it was me, because I sure as hell had to be told who he was. Why didn’t you tell me he was so tacky?”
    Perry blinked, expression caught somewhere between abject terror and the sort of expression one might make after being smacked upside the head with a brick— and then he laughed out loud, the sound ringing down the halls of the ship. “I’m sure I’ve mentioned all those goddamn rings at least once.” She grinned, sharklike. “Bumping into him, spilling on his shirt, and worst of all, not knowing who he was? That sounds like his worst nightmare.”
    Azure loved seeing her friend smile. Made her all fuzzy inside. She grinned back. “I think I might have blown him off a few more times before that too. I was tryin’ to find my date and he just kept puttin’ himself in my path. Like I didn’t have better things to do. I’m a livin’ taser, he’s lucky he wasn’t fried. I was already anxious as hell, it was more than possible.” She gave a little yawn. “Anyway, I’m beat. Have fun eatin’ puddin’ with my brother.”
    Perry’s soft chuckle followed her down the hall as she left.
10. Handled
    It didn’t hit Trinity until much later that night what exactly Azure had done while he’d been… incapacitated. He knew he was still far too anxious to sleep, no matter how exhausted he was, so he’d taken the advice he vaguely remembered from while Azzy’d been chattering to him earlier that evening and wrapped himself in a blanket on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate. There was no need to wake up his sister this late-- he’d just sleep tomorrow.
    He’d already had the cocoa made when he remembered that it was Azure who’d mentioned it in the first place, and as he’d sat and slowly unraveled his tangled, panic laden memories of the night, he’d begun to piece together everything else she’d said and done. The first thing was how she’d handled finding him in that state. Others who’d stumbled upon him in the past had done everything from trying to shake him out of it to calling an ambulance, and not one had actually been helpful. He knew his attacks were strange and unfamiliar even to people who had ones of their own, but she’d simply waited, using sound and touch to bring him back until she could see what he needed. In some ways, he barely knew her, and yet she’d helped him out of it more quickly and painlessly than anyone except perhaps his sister ever had. How had she known, and honestly, why had she bothered? He’d almost believed she would just leave once he disappeared for long enough.
    The next fact that rose to his mind as he considered everything else she’d said was the reason they’d been able to leave so quickly in the first place. Not only had she expertly hidden his compromised state from passerby while he recovered, but she’d been on her own in the crowds the whole time he’d been gone. He had no real concept of how long that had been, but it was impressive at any amount. Not only had she been able to wade through the masses of humanity successfully, she’d apparently expertly handled each business partner or contact he’d been meant to speak with tonight, to the point that not a single person had accosted them or vied for Trinity’s attention on the way out. Even the run-in with Fate, as stressful as it had been at the time, he was sure had been purely accidental. This one night alone had given Trinity more confidence in Azzy’s ability to conduct herself well at these events, more than any dancing improvement or small talk or perfect dinner etiquette. More than that, it was yet another example of something she absolutely didn’t have to do, but did anyway, for a reason he couldn’t puzzle out.
    The final piece to the puzzle was her very last gift to him as they waited for a car-- an unspoken promise to forget this moment of weakness, never to bring it up again. It was easy to forget the real business she was in sometimes, that she traveled with a ship of vigilantes with checkered and secretive pasts and plenty of issues of their own. It was unlike him, but somehow he felt he could trust her with that weakness. Not only did he believe her when she said she would treat it as though it never happened, but he wasn’t afraid of it coloring her interactions with him. Even subconsciously. His memories of the night were still hazy and sorting through them was exhausting and painful work, but if he knew one thing, it was that he could trust Azure. If he’d thought it before, now he was sure.
    Trinity pulled his blanket tighter around himself and took a sip of cocoa. She was right, this was much better than being in a crowded ballroom. He should do this more often.

8. The serene intensity
During day shifts, you weren’t alone at least. The ever-exciting presence of Yoonho’s was absent since he somehow was busy all your shift, but at least you had the new intern standing at the front desk. What your hotel porter was doing in such a lazy day was far beyond you – Yoonho usually sat during these shifts alongside you on the reception, throwing jokes back and forth.  You had a feeling in your gut that he was avoiding you, not quite sure why, but the way he disappeared the moment you stepped into the hotel was suspicious. Was he still angry about the day you ditched him for the piano music? Geez, this little boy and his attitude.. On the second hand, you could sit alone in the back of the reception without the annoying nagging of your coworker. His always happy persona would quickly pick up your different aura and you surely weren’t ready to explain the cause of it.
His hand gripped your waist, not letting you shy away from his body. The second one entangled in your messy locks held your head steady, leaving you defenseless to his conquering lips. Your fingertips brushed against male’s shirt, dry skin on soft material, not quite sure if the gesture was one of decline, acceptance or astonishment – what to think, or more importantly, how to think when you are kissed with such a passion?
You massaged your temples, giving up on the documents spread before you on the desk. The letters had no meaning, just empty graphics without any sense of all. The only thing picking up your interest was the color of the furniture; mahogany brown, just like the one from apartment 402.
He pushed you against the desk, pinning you to the surface with one motion of his hips. You gasped, which allowed him to slip his tongue inside your mouth. He moved smoothly and confidently, trained well in this old, carnival dance. - Mr. Changkyun – a quiet murmur was all you got, breathless from not so simple kiss. He shushed you somewhere between kisses alongside your neck, but when you repeated his name once again – this time stronger, magically gripping the reality of the situation, he shoved two fingers into your mouth. - Shh, little doe – his voice poured straight to your core, starting the fire when his teeth grazed your ear:- Let me show you what you’re missing hiding in the forest all the time, yeah?
Previous night’s images were playing in your head in a loop, stuck on forever replay. The whole building was too heavy, not spacious enough for you and your hazy head full of fresh memories. You could feel how sticky your blouse was already. It was barely 5 PM, still a few hours away from shredding your uniform.
He pushed your sweater high enough to shower your stomach with brief kisses, biting at your waistline. Not enough to dive himself into your breasts though, so he almost tore the clothing away.
Your manager will bite your head off for lack of work today, that’s for sure.
He pulled down the straps of your bra with his teeth, softly dropping it on the floor. Shivers ran through your topless torso, more of excitement than coldness; you let his hands map your body, feeling oddly safe. You could only think about how he still had his shirt on, no second thoughts about the whole situation. The freshness of being intimate with someone again gave you a high feeling, a light chest full of short breaths, and sudden strength to bow your spine seductively. You pulled at his shirt impatiently, wanting to feel his skin on yours, but at this moment all his focus was set on the zipper of your pants. Your quiet whines finally caught his attention after he discarded your jeans and by the way he smirked, you were pretty sure he was aware of your request all this time. - Something’s wrong? – he questioned, gently stroking your lower abdomen with the back of his hand; the other one playing with the hem of your panties. You gripped his shirt, hoping it would be enough for an answer, but he snapped your underwear disapprovingly. His dark eyes looked expectantly at you, fully prepared to drag this out if you won’t cooperate. - Can you.. can you take your shirt off? – you asked, a new set of fire consuming your face, so you tried to hide it behind an added plea:- Please? He took it off without hesitation with barely audible ‘not that hard, hm?’. You were drawn to the exposed skin immediately, hands softly grazing his chest.
You opened the few buttons of your blouse, the need for cooling off stronger than work ethic. Carefully looking at your reflection in the glass of the nearby shelf, you looked presentable; hair surprisingly neatly, no wrinkles on the shirt. But the shame filled you from head to toe.
- You have to tell me – he said, tone still, even if his fingers were all but still; pumping into your core with ferocity. Squishy sounds were loud in your ears, almost drowning his request. The ecstasy of his touch was unbearable, mind hazy, nails scratching male’s arms. You could only respond in a whine, lost between wild want and embarrassment of being exposed. Nude, eager and filthy; you are filthy, what the heck are you doing, but god damn his fingers, oh my god oh my god oh my- He stopped, his hands disappearing without any warning. - No! – your id squeaked and continued, despite the superego laments:- No, no, why you stopped? - I said you have to tell me – Im drew circles on your stomach with his wet fingers, then around your breasts, cleavage and paused at your collarbones. His eyes finally met your desperate gaze:- What are you waiting for, baby? You barely recognized his words were the same as an hour ago. The very same people but a dissimilar situation, unalike aura –and so your mind, contrasting to blank mindset back then, now full of lust, loud as thunder. Muting your morals, you said loud and clear: - You. I want you.
You can’t blame this on anybody else; shit, you gave him all your consent.
- Do you? His question wasn’t what you were expecting. Changkyun pulled your right hand, pointing at the wrist scarred with tattoo ink. - You say it’s me, but you came here with this awful mark.. When he first saw your tattoo in the reception, he was disgusted, but at this moment you swear you could almost say he’s hurt. Why though? Why is he so touchy about it? Your body’s hunger didn’t want to wait and listen to the pointless conversation. All you could do was to mewl with dissatisfaction, rubbing your thigs together for comfort. Your partner agreed with a groan. - But you can feel it, right? Stronger than whatever poison this bastard gashed you with – Im kissed you, dropping your hand, he searched for something behind your figure.  His kisses were deep and breathtaking, spinning you straight into blissful numbness. You felt cold material around your hand. - Just me and you – he whispered against your lips, showing you how he tied up your and his wrists together.
Thinking about it with a clear head now, it wasn’t just about how you gave him consent. More humiliating to you was actually how you enjoyed it.
His hips came flush to yours at a constant pace with your ragged breaths. - Look at me – he demanded:- Look at me and tell me, who makes you sing like this, Missy? Muffled ‘you’ fell from your mouth somewhere between ecstatic gasps. You were ready to tell whatever it takes for him to keep up the sweet feeling of fullness. Your womanhood drowned in the euphoria of long-forgotten attention. When was the last time..? - That’s right, that’s right.. – Im laced fingers with yours and together you gripped your knee, letting him dive deeper into you. The silk scarf wrapped tightly around both your wrists felt shockingly cold on your hot skin. Your stomach twisted and tightened up, drawing a hiss from your partner. - Shit – he murmured, clashing your lips again and speeding up his rhythm. You started to mumble nonsense into his skin, losing the balance of reality. More more more.. - Come with me, little doe, come on – his voice lurked you into leaping into madness, orgasmic waves eating you up, mouth opening up in silent scream. With closed eyes you let your mind leave your body, lost in the time and space, pleasure being the only felt sensation.
As euphoric and fantastic was your encounter, you quickly came back to realization – you slept with your guest. It didn’t hit you right away, of course, you were way too smitten with his body on top of yours and kisses shared right after; but when he left to the bathroom, you simply panicked.  So you dressed up hastily and almost ran out of the hotel, taking the back exit in fear of meeting any coworker. Now, just the day after, you hide in the backroom, wishing to stay there your whole shift. Where went all your professionalism that you’re so damn proud of? Straight outta window surely, because you needed only a little attention to fully submit. To a guest. Your client. Pretty much stranger. Shameful and filthy, full of regret, but still thinking – about his scent, smoky but rich incense; about hints of wine on his tongue when he moaned during your orgasms; about his long fingers, firmly gripping yours, scarf connecting your wrists skin to skin. How wonderful it felt to be desired again, by a handsome man nonetheless.. or was it just a game for him? The silly receptionist bought trick with a time-stopping lighter? What was worse? It shouldn’t have happened. Your parents would probably kick you out with distaste. Your boss? The number of glares from coworkers, gossip following you everywhere? You stupid girl, you forgot everything so easily, you can lose it all- - Miss Y/N? You nearly jumped, the unexpected voice from the intern harshly pulling you back to reality. - Oh, sorry! – she swiftly apologized, uneasiness painting her ears scarlet:- I thought you will have a spare minute! S-sorry, I will take care of it! - No, no, it’s okay – you scolded yourself for drifting away so carelessly:- What is it? Do you need any help? - Uhh, kind of – her eyes snapped nervously back to the reception:- I mean, there’s new guest.. I booked him, the procedure says we should carry his luggage but I can’t reach the porter.. - Damn Yoonho – with a shake of your head, you stood up and headed towards the front desk:- What is he doing, lacking off like this? - I’m sure he has something to do, Miss! – her hurried response and fluttering lashes gave you some hints about reasons for her heroic defense of said boy:- Please don’t yell at him later.. After a few seconds of silence, you responded with a sigh. - Only because you asked me to. Try to look for a better catch though, okay? At least more reliable than him – she giggled at your words, mumbling something about how it’s not like that, but you knew better. The shy shuffling of her feet told you everything. You rolled your eyes with a faint smile; innocent crush. They’re so young and cute it’s making you feel really old. You stepped into reception without further thinking, leaving embarrassing memories behind you with the hope of not meeting your fears immediately. Thankfully, the place was quiet – the only figure was the new guest absorbed in his smartphone. He was young, despite the first impression – the grey hair must’ve been dyed. He hid his features behind the facemask. He worn sports clothes, kind of baggy and you weren’t sure if that’s just his style or he’s some celebrity trying hard to blend in. You spotted a gym bag next to him, not really the big one. You were ready to inform the intern it’s not necessary to take the luggage, but then you spotted the black business card in his hand. Instantly you straightened up, nerves kicking in. - Good afternoon, sir – you greeted him with a polite voice and despite you seriously didn’t want to, you offered:- Let me assist you to your apartment.
thank you for reading

Jealousy
Will Graham x reader, slight Hannibal Lecter x reader
Word Count: 2.2k
Warnings: talks of murder, corpses, crime scenes
Author’s Note: besties you need to stop giving me freedom to chose the endings because i am SO biased. I hope you all enjoy regardless and didn’t mind that I bunched these two requests together because they’re so similar!
Requested: by anon, Hey i don’t know if you’re still taking Hannibal requests but if you are can you do something where both Will and Hannibal have a crush on the reader? The reader would be the only one who doesn’t know about the two men having a crush on her and one day the reader hangs out alone with one of them (could be Will or Hannibal) and the other gets jealous? It could end in the reader choosing one of them. (your choice)
Requested: by anon, AHHH i’m so nervous to write a request even tho this a anon😅 I never done a request but if you could do something where both Hannibal and Will take an interest in the reader? It could just be a thing where both of them try to impress the reader who remains oblivious to their affections. And during the entire thing they get jealous of each other and try to one up each other in gifts. If you want you could end it with them being polyamorous or the reader choosing one of them, i don’t really care my main focus id just the jealousy lol😅
Summary: the requests!
I don’t own these characters. They belong to author/director/creator
(not my gif)

You nodded gently, putting your fingernail between your teeth. You circled the corpse, giving it a careful eye as Beverly spoke over your thoughts.
“We believe it was murder, obviously,” she said.
“It’s just been a bitch trying to figure out how she was murdered,” Zeller commented. He was sitting on one of the stools, his hands resting on his thighs.
“Keep working on it,” Jack said, hand resting on the cold metal table.
“I think we should try and talk to the mom again. I feel like she knows more than she’s letting on,” you muttered. Will and Hannibal watched you as you moved to the head of the body, looking directly down at it.
“I want to go to the crime scene again,” Will said. You looked up and met his eyes, nodding a bit. You knew the toll that it took on him so you preferred him to offer up his abilities, rather than ask him.
“Are you sure you’re up for that?” Hannibal asked. Yours and Will’s eyes floated to Hannibal who was standing at the corner of the room. This wasn’t his crime, he wasn’t sure what Will would find.
“I’m sure,” Will said sturtly and then turned around, walking out of the room. Hannibal watched as your gaze followed Will until he was out of sight and then you turned back to the corpse.
“I’ll drive you to the mothers house,” Hannibal suggested. You nodded and took your hands off the metal, walking over to him.
“Thank you.”
The two of you left quickly after that, leaving Bev, Zeller, Price and Jack in the room alone. Beverly pretended to check something on her clipboard before looking up at everyone.
“You all felt that tension too, right?” Overlapped responses came.
“Yeah.”
“Yes.”
“When did that happen?”
Beverly shrugged and learned against the wall. She tried to follow you and Hannibal as you left the morgue but you were already long gone.
“Who do you think she’s gonna pick?” Bev asked.
“I say let the best man win!” Price commented.
“We have a case here lady and gentlemen,” Jack said, pretending he too wasn’t invested. Everyone else shared one more look and then turned around, getting back to their duties.

Hannibal sat promptly in his chair, legs crossed and looking at Will who sat across from him. Will had an open stance as he looked around the room he had been in a couple of times before.
“How was your week? Let’s start there,” Hannibal said gently, prompting Will to start talking. Will was usually filled to the brim with sarcastic comments but he never wanted to delve any deeper than that. Unless he was talking about other people's murders.
“Um, it was fine,” he said, trying to figure out what to say. “Y/N came over last night and made dinner. It was nice to have someone over.” Hannibal was able to mask his feelings very well but Will caught a little bit of disdain.
“That’s nice. Do you see her often?”
“Sometimes. She’s nice and likes to see the dogs.” Hannibal saw you yesterday as well, when the two of you went to interview the mother again. Hannibal offered a nice face to the woman and it ended up getting you somewhere with her.
“She is very kind,” Hannibal commented.
“Do you see her often Dr. Lecter?” Will asked.
“On occasion. She comes over for dinner. She used to be a patient but she’s been doing well.”
“Glad to hear you have some success stories.”
That was the day that Will and Hannibal realized they were competing and they hadn’t known it. They weren’t even sure that you knew it but they understood that the other had feelings for you.
Sure, ultimately it was up to you in the end but it was then they decided they would have to get to you first. Will was a little unhinged and confused. Hannibal was a little insane and unsettling.
Just depended on who was going to be able to play the right cards.
=====
You sat beside Hanniabl at his dinner table. You had a few of the case papers out in front of you, next to your plate of food. Hannibal was flipping through them as well. He was trying to help you out while also getting you to enjoy a nice meal.
You ate the last bite of the food and showed Hannibal one of the pictures.
“Do you think this looks like she’s been dead for a couple of months? I know water can wash away evidence and stuff but it definitely doesn’t look like she’s been dead for months,” you said. Hannibal took the picture from you and looked it over.
“I can’t say I disagree with you.” You took the picture back.
“This is really good by the way. Thank you for letting me intrude on your dinner,” you said laughing a bit. He shook his head.
“Of course. I’m glad you enjoy it, I know it can be an acquired taste.”
“I really enjoy everything you make. How do you say it? It’s growing my pallet,” you said smiling. He nodded pleasantly. It was always nice to make sure people were listening. You looked like you were about to say something else when your phone dinged. At first you ignored it but then it dinged again. “I’m sorry,” you muttered and then picked up the phone. You read a couple of messages and laughter bubbled from your mouth. Hannibal immediately felt a stab of jealousy but it didn’t show on his face. “Sorry, Will just sent me something about the case. I actually have to go see him later tonight, I should probably get out of your hair.”
Hannibal shook his head.
“You’re always welcome here, I hope you know that.” You smiled and nodded but still put the papers together in a neat stack.
“Don’t say that, I’ll abuse my privileges.” You stood up and put the stack of papers in your arms. “Thank you again Hannibal. I’ll call you?” He nodded, standing up as well and taking your plate.
“Of course. Have a nice night and say hello to Will for me.” You nodded and waved as you turned to leave.
Hannibal turned to the kitchen and put the dishes in the sink. He started to wash them and after a moment he found he had been washing his hands dry.
====
“You really didn’t have to drive me. I can drive myself,” Will said from the passenger seat of your car. You waved him off, shaking your head.
“Please Will, I can drive you around all I want. Plus, I wanted to see Hannibal anyway. Don’t worry I won’t intrude on your session. I brought a book.” You held your book up in front of him and he nodded slightly.
Why did you wanna see Hannibal? He decided not to ask.
You got out of the car and followed Will inside to Hannibal’s office. Hannibal opened the door, as though he had been listening and waiting for your arrival. His smile grew at the sight of you.
“I was hoping to run into you. I boxed some leftovers from last night because you enjoyed them so much,” Hannibal explained.
“You went over to Hannibals’ last night?” Will asked. He didn’t mean for his voice to sound so accusatory but it did. You shrugged.
“I went for dinner and he helped me with some case notes.” You remained completely oblivious to the tension in the room. He handed you a box that he grabbed from his desk and you nodded happily. “Thank you so much! I will cherish this,” you joked. You turned to Will. “Have a nice session boys, I’ll be in the car.”
  They both nodded and waved goodbye to you as you left the room. The tension did not leave with you.
====
The morgue did not smell any better the next time you were in it. You were alone with just Bev this time as you compared notes on the cause of death. She and the guys were still in the process of figuring it out but it had been a busy couple of days.
“Yeah that’s kind of what Price was saying. I don’t know, I’ll look into it more and get back to you,” she said as you showed her some notes. You nodded and put your notepad back in your bag.
“Alright, keep me posted.” You stood up from your chair and stretched a bit. You and Beverly were pretty good friends outside of work as well so she had been dying to ask you about Hannibal and Will.
“So...how’s it going with Hannibal and Will?” she asked, crossing her arms and leaning against the wall. You gave her a confused look.
“Huh?” She scoffed.
“You’re kidding right?” You gave her a look and she laughed dryly. “You seriously don’t know? Those guys are head over heels for you. Come on, you had to have noticed how jealous they get when you talk to them. It literally fills the room with tension,” she explained. You shook your head slowly. It took you a moment but the realization hit you. You had to sit back down.
“Oh my God, I’ve been so head first in this case I didn’t even notice,” you said, laughing a bit.
“Well! Who’s gonna take the cake? Come on, we’re running bets here in the morgue.” You raised an eyebrow.
“Who did you bet on?” She gave you a look. “Come on!”
“Will,” she fessed up. You stood up.
“Go get your money Katz.” A prideful look went over her face and she nodded.
“Alright then. You better go get your man.”
======
You knocked on Will’s door that night. You teetered back and forth on the porch, wondering if Beverly had been wrong. She could have read the signs wrong. Heck, you read the signs wrong at first. You were about to walk off the porch when Will opened the door, rubbing his eyes.
“Hi,” he said, blinking quickly.
“Oh my gosh did I wake you? I’m sorry, I am running on case time,” you said, suddenly feeling very apologetic. He shook his head.
“No, don’t worry about it. Do you need something?” You doubted yourself again but figured that if you were going to do it you had to do it now.
“I just...Beverly said something and I...do you wanna go to dinner? Like together? Like as a couple?” You were trying to get the words out so they didn’t sound awkward. Will rubbed his eyes some more and then his hand dropped. He smirked a bit.
“Yeah. I would really like that.”
“Okay! Okay. Good, good. I’ll talk to you about it tomorrow once you get some rest,” you said. He nodded happily.
“I look forward to it.”
“Me too.”
You turned around and he shut the door and a wall away from each other. You were both smiling wildly. Will almost called Hannibal and bragged but he went to sleep. He would find out eventually.

Chapter III - Memory one
college au, Student!Choi Soobin x student!reader
Tumblr media
This is the first memory we share together. It’s during class.
Soobin comes to sit down next to me, he wants to be my partner. I only know him by name and that is all, even though I met him earlier today. I think it’s weird that one of the most popular boys wants to do this project with me, the twin who is less socially capable, the twin who survived but doesn’t live life. After we both read the assignment, I dreaded it even more. We are supposed to make memories together, How is that an assignment? Fine, I know that that is not the only thing we are supposed to do, but it is what the whole assignment is based on. Isn’t that weird?
‘Should we plan a day to make our first memory together?’ Soobin asks while turning his head to me. ‘I think that is the easiest way to do this thing.’ He explains himself and runs his left hand through his purple hair.
‘But isn’t this our first memory together?’ I then proceed to ask and I can see Soobin think about it.
‘There you have a point, but then this morning should be our first memory. Anyways, we still need more than one memory. So I think planning a date isn’t something weird.’ He states and then gets his agenda and has a look at a few dates. Like him calling our get together a date is nothing to him, like it’s normal. Since he isn’t make a big thing out of it, I decide to do the same and act like nothing happened. But deep inside I’m starting to overthink this.
‘Okay, but this morning, we barely spoke. I think we should pick this memory and then we can make a few more if needed. I can’t go out on Saturdays though, because I always work at Saturday. But Friday after school is no problem for me. How about you?’ I ask looking back at him.
‘Friday is good with me. Should we do next week? Then we still have time to prepare for it.’ He answers my question and suddenly his eyes light up. ‘You said you work on Saturdays, where do you work? Isn’t it possible for me to come to your work and make one of memories there?’
‘Next week is good. And I work at the little bakery close by my home. It’s called Cake a Diem, and I have worked there since last year.’ You answer shyly. Why would he want to meet with you on a Saturday, isn’t he supposed to meet with his friends?
‘Nice! I think that is on my route to Yeonjun, so maybe I could stop by and get something to eat this Saturday.’ He beams, while clapping his hand together. Like he is indeed really excited to see me on the weekend.
‘Why are you so happy about stopping by at my work place?’ I curiously ask, maybe I can know whether or not he is lying, or maybe, just maybe he is actually happy to see me outside of school.
‘I just love bread. Most of the time, when I go study at Yeonjun’s, he doesn’t have any bread. So now I can pick somethings up and then go study with good food!’ He says excited while picking up his phone. I look at the teacher and back at Soobin. In the time I looked away, he already opened internet and was looking at the website of the bakery. Then before I could really notice, the teacher is standing behind him. Without out thinking I just grabbed his phone and put it away. Soobin wanted to start whining about it, but then he saw the teacher and just kept quiet. The teacher stood there for a few more seconds before returning to his desk. ‘That was close.’ He whispered.
‘It was.’ I answered and suddenly the bell rang. Signaling that this class was finished and that it was time for fourth period. Which means lunchbreak is coming. Just one more class.
‘I know you usually don’t eat lunch in the cafeteria, but would you maybe wanna have lunch with me and my friends? So I can get to know you better for the assignment.’ Soobin proceeds to ask before I can leave the class, as a response I just nod reluctantly and then I walk to my next class. Which he, luckily for me, isn’t in. I don’t know whether or not I am actually going to sit with Soobin. But I still have one class to figure it out.
After I survived fourth period it’s time for lunch. I noticed that I still had Soobin’s phone, so I actually needed to see him in order to give it back. But some part of me just kept thinking about him just using me for the assignment. So as I walked to the cafeteria as slowly as I could, I kept thinking about what I would do. I can leave his phone on the table he and his friends always sit at. I can also just try and get into his phone and then call one of his friends, or I can wait for one of his friends to call his phone. Still not having decide what to do I reached the cafeteria, this is still the same as always. Since everything that happened a year ago I’m used to getting my lunch here and then head out to eat it somewhere quiet. So me waking in here, isn’t weird yet. But me staying in here is going to be the weird thing.
As I’m standing in line I am also looking for Soobin and his friends. I’m curious to see if they are already sitting at their table or not. Sadly for me they are, which means  I can’t go on with the first plan of me just putting his phone on the table. The second plan also seems like something I can’t do and for the third I need one of his friends to do something about it. So there is nothing for me that I can do now. Realizing this, I decide to not sit with Soobin today. I know he asked, but I just can’t, not yet. Not if I haven’t sat with any one since a year ago. Besides what if he is using me? So after I finally get my food I turn around ready to leave the cafeteria. After I left the cafeteria my phone starts ringing. But when I grab it, it doesn’t seem like I had an incoming call. Then I remember I also have Soobin’s phone. The caller-ID shows that Yeonjun is calling. I remember that name, Soobin talked about him.
‘Hello, this is ___’ I answer the phone.
‘Hey! Soobin here. I see you still have my phone.’ He says and I can practically hear him smirking. ‘I also saw that you were getting lunch. Did you not see us?’
 ‘I’m sorry Soobin, I can’t sit there just yet. It brings back too many memories.’ I answer trying to fight back my tears, thinking about me and her sitting in the cafeteria a year ago, surrounded by a lot of friends. Just before everything happened.
‘It’s okay. Just tell me where you are right now. Then you can give my phone back and we can just eat without a lot of people. Because that is why you can’t eat in the cafeteria, right?’ He tells me and I start to wonder how he knows this much about me when we just met this morning.
‘I’m just outside the cafeteria.’ Is all I get out and within a matter of minutes I hear the cafeteria doors opening to my left. Looking there I see Soobin walking up to me. He doesn’t say a thing. Just hangs up the phone he used to call his own. Looks at me with a question on his face, hold out his hand. Asking me to give back his phone. I do. He then grabs my hand and takes me outside. He sits on a bench and grabs his lunch. So he is actually going to eat here with me? ‘Why are you doing this?’ I suddenly ask.
‘Because I want to.’
‘But why would you want to? Do you know who I am?’ I ask embarrassed, maybe he doesn’t know what everyone says. Maybe he didn’t hear what they call me.
‘You are ___ my classmate and projectpartner.’ He says stern and maybe, just maybe he doesn’t actually care what everyone thinks. Maybe he just enjoys my company. ‘I asked if you would have lunch with me and now we are having lunch, so I don’t understand why this comes as a shock to you.’ He then continues to says and you can’t seem to find the words to answer him.

Another Story
Tumblr media
A supernatural au with brothers Kim Seokjin and Kim Jungkook
au: I’m sorry that I keep writing new stories. I have a problem
wc:1794
“Bitch”
“Jerk”
Seokjin and Jungkook just turned their heads slightly towards each other and had little smiles on their faces showing affection to their curse words.
“So, where to next huh? Any new cases that you happened to stumble upon.” Seokjin said as he leaned down to the passenger side window to look at his younger brother Jungkook who was usually the one always looking for anything that speaked- um actually SCREAMED monsters.
“Well there seems to be an unusual amount of ‘coyote’ attacks in California, and usually those cases end up being werewolves.” Jungkook replied quietly almost like he was mostly talking to himself and not noticing that Seokjin was next to him and was able to hear his words.
Seokjin clapped the hood of the impala causing a loud bang to echo through the car, causing Jungkook to jump slightly in his seat being snapped out of his daze. Seokjin just smirked and walked away towards the gas pump. Jungkook just mumbled to himself going back to looking at maps and newspapers.
After Seokjin put the gas pump back he came back into the car ready to start their journey to California for werewolves. Seokjin was just blasting his classic music, tapping his fingers against the steering wheel feeling the beat, while Jungkook picked up his head slowly with a slightly questioning look to his soft features.
“Have you heard from (Y/n) in a while?” Jungkook asked with worry hidden in his tone.
“No, haven't I heard from her in probably a month? But she knows how to handle herself, she is an angel after all Googie.” Seokjin responded with a nice smile pulling his plush lips upwards.
Somewhere in the middle of Kansas
All you remember was stopping at a phone booth trying to call Seokjin and Jungkook, then following a lead for demons; hoping that you would stumble upon Taehyung with you needing to have a conversation with him. Then the next, blacking out.
You were slowly starting to come too, your eyes fluttering trying to open again with black dots clouding your vision and a huge headache coming along with you causing you to wince. Slowly bringing your head up to look at your surroundings to try and make sense of your situation, deciding what is a good option on trying to escape.
You were in some room, looked like an abandoned living room of some house. The walls were barely keeping up, a couple of windows were shattered allowing for the breeze to come through with a howling coming along, there were torn curtains along with some burned to the top. There was a dining table with four chairs, one for each side. Then there was a small tv, a tattered couch, a spring with some cushioning showing. There was trash everywhere on the floor, and there was a bunch of graffiti showing that teenagers were here every now and then being their reckless selfs. You just scoffed and gagged in your mouth.
Rolling your eyes, you looked down to see yourself tied to a simple wooden chair with duct tape.
‘Are they really this stupid?’ you thought to yourself.
“Ah, I see you are awake now. How was your slumber?” Your mystery person asked.
You snapped your head up at the sound of their voice, it sounded kinda familiar. Making eye contact with the person you can’t help, but gasp.
“Taehyung! What is this? You couldn’t just have been a bit more civil!” You scoffed out.
Taehyung just laughed lowly to himself, clasping his hands behind his back and seductively licking his lips. You just gulped down saliva.
Taehyung walked slowly to your seated self, walking around you like you were some prey and he was the predator, he was wrong though you were both predators.
Taehyung was dressed in a black suit (typical for hells “dress code”). It fitted his body nicely showing off his well fit body, well the person’s body who he stole it from. He had some nice biceps, a tiny waist coming down into a nice looking butt (which you weren’t looking at), he had some nice thick thighs. His feet were covered in classy men’s dress shoes. His hands had veins visible, and his fingers were slender covered in rings. His face was so handsome, that you don’t even know if you can describe his features.
Taehyung stopped in front of you after he circled you twice. His eyes just ran up and down your body, causing a slight shiver. You saw him smirk at your action so you just stared into his eyes, showing you won’t yield to him. He decided to be the first to talk.
“So, how are your little friends?” Taehyung asked in his deep voice.
You just squint your eyes at his, wondering what he wants from you. You actually have a question for him.
“They are doing fine, I’ve kept them safe from you.” you smirked.
Taehyung just rolled his eyes and signed. You just kept your eyes on him wondering what his next step is going to be.
“So your friends don’t know what's coming then?”
“What do you mean ‘what's coming’?” you just raised your brows in question.
Taehyung lifted his head, causing his eyes to look down at you making it seem like he was superior to you. He stepped closer to you, towering over your sitting figure. His slender fingers brushed against your cheeks softly, throwing you off guard. Taehyung laughed to himself, cocking his head slightly to the left.
“Aren’t you a beautiful little thing. A beautiful, delicate girl on the outside, but on the inside you are a powerful angel from heaven able to kill anyone who gets in your way. Yet when you are given any type of physical affection it throws you off, causing your wall to crumble just a tiny bit.  You probably need to work on that, maybe get one of your boys to help you.” Taehyung laughed in your face.
“You leave those boys allowed. I’ll kill you if you even touch one hair on their heads.” You sneared.
Taehyung stepped back smirking to himself. You just wanted to smack him so hard in the face, he won’t be able to feel anything for a few hours.
“Well, knowing how you feel about those boys, maybe I should just send some minions after them. See if they can cause any damage to their pretty faces. We’ll see what you’ll do after.”
With that Taehyung just backed further away from you and disappeared.
Muir Woods National Monument: San Francisco, CA
 “Well it doesn’t seem like there is a whole lot of ‘coyote’ active as the newspaper advertised.” Seokjin just mumbled to himself after he and Jungkook left the rangers office to try and see what they were working with, it looked like not a whole lot.
“Well maybe we should go ask the person who was attacked, they did end up in the hospital so they could have gotten some cuts if it was an actual werewolf.” Jungkook tried to reason as they got to the impala and hopped in to drive to the hospital.
They got to the hospital and went to go see the patient to try and get an understanding of their injuries. When they saw them they looked scared, but not like a werewolf had done it.
“Hello sir, we are national rangers over at Muir Woods monument and just wanted to ask you some questions about your incident in our parks.” Seokjin told the victim as he and Jungkook showed some type of ids to the person. They just nodded their heads and answered their questions.
“I was camping and decided to go for a little hike. As I was walking I saw something in the distance, and I didn’t want to find out what it was because you know horror movie people always make the dumb decisions. Well as I was walking back someone just suddenly popped up in front of me out of nowhere! Then they just grabbed me and started to claw at my body. I was screaming as loud as I could hoping that someone would be able to hear me, a ranger or just a random passerby, then when they threw onto the ground after they were done they did the weirdest thing. They grabbed my phone and called 911 then hung up and then when they threw my phone on the ground they crouched down beside my head and leaned down toward my ear. They whispered like they were telling me a secret.”
“Well what did they say?” Jungkook asked puzzled.
“They said, ‘tell the Kim’s that I have their little angel and to call them for information’.” The victim ended their retelling of their attack.
Jungkook just looked at Seokjin and saw that he shared the same look of worry on his face as he was sure that Jungkook had on his.
“Thank you sir, that will be all. We hope for a fast recovery.” Seokjin said cooly and bowed to the person showing their respects. Jungkook followed Seokjin and bowed as well, leaving the room.
Seokjin and Jungkook just walked through the corridors of the hospital in silence deciding what their next move should be. Their steps slowed when they got to the impala, just stopping at their doors, tapping the roof with their knuckles and fingers nails.
“Okay, so who do we call then?”
“Ghostbusters, Jungkook thats who.” Seokjin replied with little sarcasm in his tone.
Jungkook just threw is hands up into the air while rolling his eyes away from his brother.
“Some random monster has (Y/n), can you try and take this a bit more serious Hyung!” Jungkook yelled to his brother, causing Seokjin to raise his eyebrows at his younger.
“Jungkook of course I’m taking this serious. You know I care about (Y/n) too, but you obviously care for her for a different reason.” Seokjin spoke slowly as he was putting the information together in his head.
Jungkook just kept his head turned towards the floor of the hospital parking lot running his hands through his hair. Seokjin just laughed quietly to himself, turning his head up towards the sky remembering something you said to them in the past-
“If you ever need me and you haven’t seen me in a while, just pray to me. I’ll get your message.” you said to the boys with a smile on your lips and then you just- left.
Seokjin decided to give it a try even if he wouldn’t be able to get any response from you, but he just wanted to make sure you knew that they were okay and they were going to find you.

And away, and away we go!
~~~
When he saw the caller ID, he was answering it before his ringtone could even kick in. “Zo? Hey, how’s everything?” Calum talked into the phone.
“Hey, Cal,” was the tearful reply.
“Zo, what happened?”
“She died, Cal. My mom. She’s gone.”
The phone clattered to the floor. Calum’s head felt like it was underwater, the worried voices of his bandmates sounding muddled as they tried to reach him. No. Claire Harper couldn’t be dead. Zoey!
His brain snapped back into enough focus for him up the phone, ignoring the jagged crack in the screen. “Hey, I got one for you,” his voice was telling her, his ears still ringing.
“What?” she asked, holding back the next sob.
“He starts an apple cider company. Calls it ‘How do you like them apples?’.”
Her laugh wasn’t the laugh he remembered. It was choked. “Thank you, Cal.”
“Anytime, Zo.”
The voices around him were still muddled as he hung up the phone. “Zo? Zoey Harper? From home? Cal, is she okay?”
“I gotta go home,” was all Calum replied with before walking out of the studio.
~~~
“Hey!” the girl scolded the boy and his stirred up cloud of sand from his jump off the swingset.
“Sorry!” the boy grinned, showing off a missing tooth.
“Watch it,” she continued to growl.
“I said I was sorry!” he told her, crossing his arms, his smile disappearing.
“Ooo!” another boy snickered. “Cal likes Zoey! Cal likes Zoey! Cal and Zoey, sitting in a tree!”
“Shut up!” they both shouted at the other boy before they looked at each other and shared a look of disgust complete with a “Yuck!” and fake gagging.
Calum smiled to himself as he stared out the plane window. It was amazing how easily the memories came back to him. A lifetime of him and Zoey Harper- his first, and only love.
~~~
“And now, Claire’s daughter would like to say a few words,” the pastor said and a young blonde in a sleek black dress moved to the podium.
Her striking green eyes were red around the edges as they scanned the room. A small smile curved on her lips when green met brown. “My mother and I didn’t always see eye to eye. Maybe that’s not something I should say at her funeral, but it’s the truth. She was reckless in everything she did. And as much as it drove me nuts, it also encouraged me to take my own risks. And, uh…” Zoey paused to collect her thoughts, and in the back, Calum let his run wild.
“Oh, Cal, that’s great!” Claire cheered, wrapping him tightly in a hug. “Isn’t that great, Zo? London! Wow!”
“Yeah, great,” Zoey forced a smile. She wanted to be happy for Calum and his band. But how could she when her boyfriend was dropping a bomb like dropping out of school and moving to fucking London?
“Zo,” both Calum and Claire said, frowning.
Zoey scraped her chair back, striding out of the room.
“Zo!” Calum called after her.
“I need a minute!” she yelled and the slamming door rattled the windows.
Calum sighed, letting her go, figuring he might as well start practicing now.
“Hey,” Claire said, reaching across the table to grip his hands in hers. “Don’t let the fear of what’s to come diminish the greatness of this moment, Cal. Allow yourself to be happy in the most unfiltered way. Shout your joy from the rooftops. You boys have worked hard. This is your moment. Never settle.”
“‘Great things happen when you chase after what you want.’ It was like her catchphrase. It’s what she told me when I finally moved to New York and got that dream apartment. She came to visit and we went out for coffee. This real small hole-in-the-wall place. We would always go when she came out or I would send her a bag of their home roast. I was actually… I was in that shop trying to buy a bag. I was giving the clerk hell for not having their home roast. Funny how quickly priorities change with a phone call. God, I owe that clerk an apology,” Zoey’s voice broke off in a small giggle. “I’m gonna miss you, Mom.”
~~~
The bell on the door jangled as he walked in the doughnut shop.
Calum’s laugh rang out around them as she swallowed her bite. “What?” she asked, self-consciously. “Do I have something on my face?”
He continued to snicker in his hand, “Geez, Zo, it’s everywhere!”
“Have you seen your own face?”
“What are you talking about? I do- Zo!” he gasped as her finger swiped the chocolate frosting off his doughnut and smeared it across his cheek.
“Hah!” she laughed at him. Then she was squealing as he rubbed his cheek against her face, creating a powdered sugar chocolatey mess, their giggles filling the small shop. “You’re crazy,” she told him, her cheeks pink with laughter.
“Crazy in love with you,” he replied, pecking her lips with his.
“And I’m just as crazy,” she smiled against his lips.
“What can I get for you, today, sir?” the teenager behind the counter asked.
“One powdered and one chocolate, please,” Calum said. “Actually, two chocolate, please,” he amended as his stomach growled.
~~~
She had a forced smile on her face as she was engaged in a conversation with someone, her eyes begging to be rescued. Calum leaned against the car, not wanting to go inside, feeling so out of place outside somewhere he once considered a home. He dug his phone out of his pocket, watching her as the line rang on his end. Her eyes glanced down at the phone in her own hand, her smile becoming a little more genuine as she answered. “Hey, Cal.” Her voice was heavy and Calum knew instantly that Zoey hadn’t been sleeping for God knows how long.
“Hey. So I was driving and I passed by that doughnut shop we used to frequent. And uh… well, I got one with your name on it. I’m out front.”
Her eyes glanced up and locked on him through the window. She put a hand over the speaker and excused herself from her conversation, walking out of Calum’s view. “Get me out of here,” her voice was saying and then she was in front of him, grabbing the doughnut back from him and sliding into the passenger seat.
~~~
“Hey, I got one for ya,” she said, breaking the silence as they ate their doughnuts, powdered sugar coating her mouth and dress.
“Shoot.”
“He goes to Alaska to become a fisherman in an isolated village and never talks to another soul.”
“Damn, that’s dark,” Calum giggled, handing her a napkin. “Seriously, do you even aim for your mouth when you eat?”
She giggled with him as she dusted off her lap. The giggle turned into a sigh. “I can’t believe you came. I feel like I’m underwater. Like my body is on auto-pilot, while my brain is a million miles away. Seeing you again, well, it grounded me. You’re the only one who gets it Cal. You’re the only one I can let my guard down with.”
“Isn’t that what your fiancé’s for?” he asked with a pointed glance to the ring on her finger.
“He didn’t know her like you did. And now he never will.” Her eyes stared out the window. “Oh, wow,” she breathed, realizing where they were. “I haven’t been here in forever.”
“Me neither,” he admitted, putting the car in park. “Every time I come home, I can never bring myself to come here. I had my best and worst night of my life here.”
“On the same fuckin night,” she recalled.
“On the same fuckin night,” he agreed.
Every summer the park held a Movies in the Park night, showing everything from old-time classics to current blockbusters. Neither of them had seen Good Will Hunting, but had always wanted to. So there they sat, curled up under a blanket and the stars, eyes glued to the large projector screen.
“Aw!” the audience let out a collective groan as the projector sputtered and the screen went black.
“Sorry about this folks! Please help yourself to the concession stand we have set up, free of charge, and we’ll try to get this up and running again shortly,” a volunteer announced.
Calum and Zoey turned to each other, sharing a grin. “Free snacks!” they shouted in each other’s faces before scrambling to snag free popcorn.
“Hmm, looks like they fixed it,” Calum said as they swung side by side. “Should we go back?”
“Nah,” Zoey replied with a shake of her head. “Where it stopped was actually perfect. No ending could be better than that.”
“We could make up our own,” Calum suggested.
“We could!” she exclaimed, loving the idea. “Promise me we’ll never watch the real ending.”
“Promise,” he swore.
So back and forth they went, creating their own endings, long after the real movie had ended and long after the popcorn disappeared. They would have stayed all night and into the morning had it not been for Mali striding towards them, tears running down her face.
“Mali?” Calum asked, his voice laced with worry as his sister looked about a millisecond away from a breakdown. “Mali, what’s wrong?!”
In the dim lighting from a nearby streetlamp, Zoey could see the darkening of his already dark eyes and the clench of his fists as worry gave way to anger that someone had hurt his sister. “Dad’s gone, Cal,” was the broken answer. “Him and Mum got in another fight and he’s… he’s gone!” With the confession off her lips, the older sibling collapsed into the younger one’s arms as they both began to sob over their parents’ broken marriage.
~~~
“Did you ever watch the ending?” she asked as they swung side by side.
Calum shook his head. “Nah. That was probably the only thing I ever did right.”
“Cal, don’t say that…”
“It’s the truth. I had everything that night and then I lost it all before sunrise.”
“Cal, you didn’t lose anything. Yes, your parents split and I know how hard that was for you. But you weren’t running away. You went off to London because you chased a dream. A dream that paid off rather fuckin’ well, by the way.”
“And you?”
“You didn’t lose me either Cal. We just weren’t meant to be.”
“I don’t think I’ll ever be able to love a girl the way I loved you…”
“Then love her differently. Love her better.”
“Are you happy? With the endings we created?”
“Are you?” she challenged, knowing he didn’t mean the movie.
He chuckled and pulled out his phone. “Wanna see the real ending?”
“Sure.”
They sat, side by side, the warm sun on their faces, and watched the ending of a movie they swore never to watch the ending of. And it was better than all the endings they could have ever imagined on their own. But still, they both felt a finality to it all, and when Calum dropped her off back home, he wondered if he was better off with his endless imagined endings than the real one.
Thank you so much, darlin'! ❤ I'm so excited about the support my work is receiving. Here it is. I really hope that you like it!
××××
It was a quiet night on the small homestead that you owned. Nothing in could be heard, except the sound of the cicadas singing off on the distance. You lived alone, and that was the way that you preferred it most of the time. Of course, by your age, it was damn near seen as a sin if you weren't married, but you had always preferred being by yourself than to settle with a man just for the sake of upholding a repuatation.
You had your fair share of suitors, but none of them ever stuck for you. You didn't need or want a man around for the expectation that you, as a woman, needed one. You could handle yourself, and you did pretty damn well at holding that statement to be the true.
You laid in bed, a small lantern burning on the nightstand as you read. You had picked up a few novels in Saint Denis earlier that day, and had spent majority of the rest of it with your nose stuck in a book. You were already halfway finished with 'Dracula' , but your tired eyes could barely keep up with your mind as you began to lazily skim over the words now. You finally had to put the book down and try to get some rest.
You were halfway asleep when you heard a loud crash come from your dining room.
Your heart fluttered wildly in your chest as you pulled yourself up, directing your eyes to the door. You reached over for the shotgun that you always kept near your bedside table. Being that you were a woman and you lived alone, you definitely had to be prepared for any situation at hand, especially when there were always Lemoyne Raiders and O'Discoll theives running afoot. You held the shotgun up to aim at the door, just waiting for someone to burst through the door at any moment.
After a few minutes of waiting, with your heart beating inside of your chest like a war drum, you began to get impatient.
"What the hell?" You whispered to yourself as you sat the shotgun down.
You reached for your old pair of ranch pants that you had thrown across the bed earlier. You shimmied yourself into them as fast as you could and grabbed your shotgun again as your stepped towards the door, pushing it open with one of your shoulders as you had a steady aim on the dark front room.
"Who's there?" you growled, "I gotta shotgun, an' I ain't afraid to shoot."
For a moment there was no answer, until you heard the creaking of the floorboards, knowing that someone was definitely prowling around in your kitchen.
"I ain't gonna ask ya again," you said, cocking the weapon
"Easy," you heard a gruff voice call from the darkness. "I ain't gonna hurt ya."
The only light in the room was from the moon shining in through one of the glass pane windows, and as your eyes adjusted to the dark, you were able to make out a large figure standing in your kitchen.
"Who the hell are you, and why are you in my goddamn house?" You snapped, taking a step forward.
"Might be easier to explain if there was some light," the voice called.
"Don't move, mister," you breathed.
With the shotgun still aiming at the intimidating figure that you could make out, you headed towards the wall where the icebox sat, flicking a switch to turn on the dim bulb that hung from the ceiling on a wire. It was still very odd to you that you could flick a switch and light up a place. Electricity had just been introduced into your area a few years ago, and it was just as astounding as it was the first time you saw it. With the room lit up, you could now see a lone, tall man standing in your kitchen now, his hands raising up once he saw that you weren'tlying about having a weapon. He had on a bloody, white button downshirt. His hair was medium length, accompanied by scruffy stubble on his chin.
You gestured to his abdomen with the shotgun, "That your blood?"
He looked down, giving a nervous laugh before turning his head back up to you, "Most of it. Ran into some goddamn O'Driscolls, an' one of 'em clipped me."
"You workin' with them bastards?" You asked quizzically, still keeping your sights aimed directly at his chest.
"No ma'am," he shook his head. "I might be a bad man, but I ain't them." He said it in such a sincere way that you were crazy enough to actually believe this man.
You breathed trying to figured out what exactly you should do, but you were stumped. Most people would have blown this man away, but for some reason, you felt like you didn't need too. You didn't have a problem with shooting anyone, and you definitely had times in the past where that was the case. But this seemed different. You let out a breathe, silently hoping you wouldn't come to regret what you were about to do.
"What's your name?" You narrowed your eyes at him.
"Arthur," he stammered, "Arthur, uh, Callahan."
You squinted at him, already knowing that he was lying about what he was saying, but what his name wasn't your real concern at the moment.
"Well, Arthur Callahan.. I'm gonna lower my shotgun now. If you wanna keep them brains in your skull, no sudden movements. Got that?" You said, waiting for his answer.
He nodded, slowly lowering his hands, "Sounds like'a good deal to me."
You finally lowered the gun down to your side. The two of you just stood there for a moment, neither of you even daring to move a muscle as you stared eachother down.
"I'll give ya that 'moment to explain yourself' now." You gestured to him with your free hand.
He shrugged, "Runnin' from them O'Driscolls. I needed'ta patch myself up. I didn't mean no harm, jus' needed to find something to fix myself up with."
"So, stealing," you corrected him.
He gave you a small, guilty smile, "Well, I did say I was a bad man."
You sighed, laying your shotgun down onto your dining table. "Atleast you're honest. I think most men who meant real harm wouldn't be so truthful."
"Guess not. Look, miss, I'll go, an' you'll never have'ta see me again."
You stood there for a moment, looking him up and down, and looking at his blood stained shirt. You should have just told him to get out, to take his ass on somewhere and never return to this place, unless he had a deathwish, but you didn't. In fact, for someone who should be screaming bloody murder at a stranger standing inside their house in the middle of the night, you were contemplating actually helping him. It also didn't help that you couldn't stop noticing how much of a looker this one was.
"Tell ya what, I'll think about lettin' you go while I fix that up for ya." You pointed at the wound on his side.
He looked at you in surprise, shaking his head, "No, I couldn't let ya do that-"
You held your hand up to silence him, "Ya broke into my house, let me decide from here on out, hmm?"
His breath gave a slight hitch as he nodded, "S'very kind'a ya. Thank'ya, ma'am."
You pulled out a chair from under the dining table. "Sit."
He obeyed and took a few careful steps over towards the table as he lowered himself down onto the seat. He laid his hands flat out on the table. He seemed to be very intent on letting you know that he really didn't mean to cause you any harm. It was something that brought a sense of relief to you, and made you feel better about what you were doing now. You walked over to your pantry to grab a bottle of whiskey and some clean rags, setting all of it down onto the table in front of him as you pulled up a chair beside of him.
"You're gonna want to get that shirt off." You gestured to his side, dousing one of the rags in whiskey.
He obeyed yet again, and began to unbutton the button-down short. You could see chest hair beginning to peek through the opening of the shirt the more he unbuttoned, he pulled it down his shoulders to reveal a toned, lean body. You'd be lying if you said it didn't make your heart skip a beat like a schoolgirl. You knew that you shouldn't be thinking like this about a man you had just met, never-the-less one that literally had just broken into your home only a few minutes ago.
"May I?" He asked, pointing to the whiskey.
"Might as well," you nodded your head. "This ain't gonna feel too good."
The wound was right on the side of his ribs. You pressed the wet rag into the skin as gently as you could. The man hissed with pain, but he didn't dare flinch as you began wiping away the blood from the area.
"It was a clear exit, at least. You said O'driscolls did this, huh?" You cut your eyes over to him, meeting his gaze.
It was almost too much to handle, meeting eyes with him while he was this close to you. He was even more handsome face-to-face. He had beautiful blue/green eyes that looked as if they could see right through you. Your heart fluttered even more in your chest when his eye contact didn't waver from yours. You had to look away for your own good, and focus on the task at hand.
He nodded, "Yeah. I, uh, I travel with some people, an' we've had trouble with 'em boys for years."
"Kinda sounds like outlaws fighting with other outlaws," you said knowingly.
"Well, ain't no sense in lyin', ma'am," he admitted.
You shrugged, "It ain't my business."
"What's your name? I'd atleast like'ta know how to thank ya properly." He exchanged a look of appreciation with you.
"(Y/N) (Y/L/N)," you said, looking up at him quickly.
"Well, I'ppreciate yer kindness, miss (Y/L/N). I hope you'll let me repay the favor," he said.
You smirked, shaking your head. "Well, if I'da known beforehand that you were out there fightin' them O'driscoll bastards, I wouldn't've waved my shotgun in your face."
"It ain't the first time I've had that happen," he chuckled.
"No, I imagine not. But you can start by tellin' me your actual name, Mr. Callahan." You cut your eyes to him again.
"Caught on'ta that, huh? It's Arthur Morgan," he admitted, taking another shot of the whiskey.
"Well, it was half true, atleast." You flashed a quick smile at him.
"Y'live alone out here?" He asked, looking around the place.
"Sure do. So, I'm sure you can understand me bein' protective about my place."
"'Course," he nodded, "Jus' don't seem too safe."
You scoffed, cutting your eyes to him again. "Because I'm a woman?"
He hummed, dropping his head briefly before he looked back up to you. "Shit no. It ain't that, it ain't safe for damn near no one 'round here."
"Well, trust me, Mr. Morgan, I know how to shoot a man if I need to," you said bluntly.
Once you had gotten his wound cleaned of all of the blood, you bandaged It up carefully with some fresh rags. Arthur watched you thoughtfully as you bandaged him up, seeming to be awestricken that someone would go this much out of the way to help a criminal that had just intruded in on them.
He looked down at his arm after you had finished. "I really do appreciate this, miss (Y/L/N). What do I owe ya?"
You shook your head, "No charge. My place ain't much, but you're welcome to stay the night and rest up here, if you'd like""
"That's awful kind. You sure 'bout that?" He asked, cocking his head curiously at you.
You gave him a nod, "Very much so. Maybe you can make sure no one else breaks into my home tonight."
An amused expression appeared on his face. "It's the least I could do, darlin'."
Most people wouldn't have been so kind in certain situations, but whatever it was that told you to help him out that night would end up changing your life.
Arthur had indeed stayed through the night, but by the time you awoke early the next morning, he had already left, but not before he left you a letter of thanks, and left a generous $50 beside of it.
The letter in question had read:
"Miss (Y/L/N),
I appreciate the help more than you know. Not a lot of people would have taken out the time to do that. Most people would have shot first and asked questions later, and for that, I thank you. If there's ever anything that you need, I'm leaving you the details of the post office that I use. Please, don't hesitate to contact me. I know you said there was no charge, but I'm leaving you a piece of money anyways.
Sincerely,
Arthur "Callahan"
It left you a bit stunned to see such kindness from someone like this, but it seemed as if he thought the same about you.
~
The two of you ended up remaining in contact through letters, but Arthur would always stop by your home whenever he was in the area, and he would always stay the night. He would usually show up with a few goods to give to you, whether it was food, whiskey, or just a book or two that he'd came across that he thought that you might like. The two of you instantly became friends, and looking back on how the both of you met, it was a fond, yet comical memory now.
The more and more that the two of you talked, the more closer the two of you became. His stops to your house became more frequent throughout the months, and sometimes he ended up staying days at a time. It got to be so that, Arthur would end up taking you out onto the town whenever he stopped by.
To this day, you weren't sure which of you became smitten with who the fastest. Arthur would always say that it was him, but you knew that you felt something for him the night that he showed up in your house. You would always joke, and tell him that that's what kept him alive, but the both of you already knew that you hadn't ever had an intention of doing such a thing to him anyway.
You never saw yourself settling down with anyone, and the fact that the man you did end up falling for happened to be a gunslinger that broke into your home in the middle of the night seemed absurd, but that's exactly what happened.
That night had been well over two years ago now, and here you sat today, in the very kitchen that you met him in, watching him write away in the journal that he always kept as you read one of the many books that he had brought you over the years. He would look up at you occasionally, the two of you exchanging glances and coy smiles at eachother as you sat in the comfortable silence of the small farmhouse.
"Y'know," he said, setting his journal down, "Of all the houses I've found myself in over the years, I'm glad I ended up in yours."
"I think we may need a better story on how we met, lest people think you're holdin' me hostage," you smiled at him. "But I can say I'm happy my house was the one that you ended up in."
You sat your own book down and stood up, rou ding the table to get to him. He looked up at you lovingly as he scooted his chair back, pulling you down into his lap. You wrapped your arms around his neck, sharing a long kiss with him.
Afterwards, he finally pulled his head back to stare you directly in your eyes as he brushed a strand of hair behind your ear. "I love ya, (Y/L/N)."
You gazed back into his bright eyes, your heart filling itself completely with a warm sensation as you sat here, wrapped in the arms of the man that you loved so dearly.
"I love you more, Arthur Callahan." You smiled knowingly at him before he pulled you back in to share another passionate kiss.
